Since needs vary for each person with diabetes, it is recommended to check
with your doctor first. However, since Shakeology is a low-caloric meal
replacement, with a lower glycemic index than most meals, it should be
acceptable for most people with diabetes.
I know of a few diabetic individuals that used Shakeology to lose weight and that helped control or eliminate their diabetes.
Shakeology is all natural...no artificial sweeteners and over 70 healthy ingredients.
If I can help you with any other questions, let me know! You can find the ingredients and nutrition facts at www.myshakeology.com/amandachampagne

It's not expensive for what it is...it's about $4/serving....less than a fancy coffee! You can check out my website for more detailed info. www.myshakeology.com/amandachampagne

Susan- you are right...ibs will be with us forever. I'm just glad I found something that has helped to stabilize it. I dont know much about diabetes, but on the bag of shakeology it says it is low on the glycymic index. Does that have anything to do with diabetes? I know of a few diabetics that have used shakeology as well, but everyone's diabetes is probably different too. Thanks for your response!

Hi Amanda!
My IBS is unpredictable to the extent that I wind up being incontinent part of the time. I had a difficult start to my morning today. I am diabetic, so I would have to stick to a shake like GLUCERNA or something similar. I cannot have much sugar.
Congratulations upon your success at stabilizing your IBS! I can empathize with how you felt before the stabilization. Unfortunately, IBS will be with those of us with it for a lifetime. Thinking positively can help us cope with IBS.
My wish for you is for far less bouts with IBS in your future!
Good luck........Susan (Sugarcop) emoticon emoticon

My IBS started a few years ago after I lost 25 pounds using weight watchers and doing beachbody’s turbo jam. I believe losing the weight too quickly as well as ingesting a ton of artificial foods and foods with added fiber (added fiber lowers the point value of food so you can eat more and not go over your points) was the cause. I was miserable most of the time trying to figure out what foods were causing the problem. I tried lots of different things to feel better, but nothing helped. First I cut out all dairy...not fun. Then I tried going gluten free...expensive and very difficult. It helped for a while because I couldn't eat a whole lot of anything!

I finally went to a gastroenterologist in April of 2010 and was tested for everything. Lots of $$ later I was told that there was nothing wrong with me..."you just have IBS". They couldn't offer much help, saying that everyone's symptoms are different. I finally decided to give Shakeology a try. It was rough on my system at first, but within a week I was feeling better! I used it for about a 2 months, and then decided it was too expensive and quit my home direct order. After a month I was feeling worse and worse...I was off it for a few months and felt horrible most of the time. I finally decided that it is definitely worth the money to feel better and started up my home direct order again.

It's amazing to me that something that tastes so good can be such an amazingly healthy shake. I do occasionally have IBS attacks...those are the days that I really watch what I eat and have 2 or 3 shakes instead of one to get back on track.

Shakeology has also helped my Dad (who just turned 60). He has had high cholesterol for a while now. He tried eating oatmeal every morning for months and then had his cholesterol checked…no change. He ate cheerios every morning for months and again had his cholesterol checked…nada. His doctor put him on medication to lower his cholesterol and he had such bad side effects that he had to quit taking them.

My sister finally talked him into trying shakeology for three months to see if that would help lower his cholesterol. He drank his shake for breakfast everyday for 3 months and then went back to the doctor to have his levels checked again and they were good! The doctor told him to keep doing whatever he was doing. Now my Mom is drinking it too!

I am posting this just in case this could help you...it's terrible to feel awful all the time and be embarrassed to go anywhere or afraid to go anywhere.

Shakeology can also help you lose weight and have more energy. I have more energy because my body is getting the nutrients that it needs to work properly....I can't eat salads or too many raw veggies or I get an attack so this is a great way to get those in.

If you would like more info or want to try a sample to see how your body responds to it, send me a spark message.
