Doctor's like that should be shot. Of course these illnesses are real and none of them are easy to diagnos. Find yourself a different doctor. Hang in there, the only ones that need a shrink are those doctors.

they really weren't very compassionate...I am so glad to be out of there and I hope I will never have to be under their "care" again. They did give me an evaluation to fill out though. my instinct is to be the bigger person, and not do the evaluation at all, but at the same time I worry for the next patient who comes in with IBS or Fibro or CFS..and whether they will be told it's ridiculous to avoid THEIR trigger foods or get frowned upon for not participating in activities even if they are crazy fatigued because they aren't getting enough sleep. seemed also like the philosophy from the docs was that they were always right, any patient that disagrees with them are wrong.
I am sorry but your doctors don't seem to be as compassionate as others.

It is in your head because the brain controls everything and everything you are feeling is REAL!!! You need to find some caring and compassionate doctors (preferably female!) who understand that all your illnesses are not psychosomatic but they are definitely REAL!!!
I bet in the next 10-20 years, medical science will find the reasons for why people get IBS, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatiguem and IC.
Don't give up hope!
Dance as though no one is watching you, love as though you have never been hurt, sing as though no one can hear you and live as though heaven is on earth.
was in the hospital for four days. the team of doctors (mostly psychiatrists) wrote everything I have (IBS-D, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, IC) off as somatoform disorders. the pains and suffering are just in my head.
this was really upsetting for me. and a very dualistic mindset on their parts. just because my colonoscopies are normal, doesn't mean IBS is a mental disorder.
