To help with my IBS D due to gall bladder surgery I have been prescribed the Cholestyramine... I am not on any specific dose. I am supposed to start with like 1/4 of a scoop and work my way up until I find the right dosage. Which kind of scares me to think about it. The reason I am supposed to start low is when I tried it once before with the full scoop dose it made me sick.
How long does it usually take to start working and I feel secure enough that my problem is "managed" I am looking to go back to work, but am scared about having to run to the bathroom. I want to be able to eat normally and not have to worry about urgent random urges to run.
What do you usually mix it with? It doesn't seem to have a strong flavor, but its so thick and kinda gritty, the texture annoys me.
