I am so sorry you are sick on top of the IBS. When this has happened to me, I make plain white rice in chicken broth and eat tiny amounts of it until it sticks to my ribs. No dairy, no oil, no spices. Just plain rice and canned broth. It does tide you over.
Get well soon!
How you do anything is how you do everything...but don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
Sorry to hear about your illness and recurrence of the gut wrenching symptoms. I just went through the same thing. Every time I coughed it was so bad I had to wear a big pad just in case.
I found reintegration with a natural flat ginger beer, good old chicken soup with not too much in it, and nothing fibrous, and last but not least for the dehydration with loss of electrolytes there are some natural ones out there at health food stores, and you really should replace as much as you can. Failing that if you don't mind G2, that worked for me diluted with water. When my Dad was in hospital and dehydrated that's what they recommended and so did my doc.
Hope this helps.
When you're feeling better, hemp seed oil or the raw crushed seeds do help with the inflammation of IB. It's not a cure, but it does help.
Take care my friend, hope you're feeling better soon.
I was awful awful sick this weekend. Sunday the runs started. And with dehydration, on top of being unable to eat. Awful is the only word I can think of to describe it. My cold is breaking, and I am trying to recover. I know I need to eat some solid food to help my body, but I can still barely eat. I have IBS D and stomach flu or any stomach virus in general really gets me in a serious flare.
I hate feeling better except for the horrid urge to run to the toilet and have pure liquid each time. I don't even trust a fart right now. While I was sick I was not taking my probiotic and fiber, so getting that going again will help, but how can I get my IBS back under control after being sick like this?
