I truly believe that hulled hemp seeds are great for those of us with IBS, not alot of fibre, 1.4 I think per tbsp, but in your oatmeal, on a salad, doesn't matter, kinda reminds me of sesame seeds but milder and definitely is helping the IB. I also used ground flaxmeal with no problem at all and take vit D and a really good Bcomplex as it helps to digest just about everything.
There's also good old salads, I've just started using a really great evoo and balsamic with mustard for a really healthy dressing, don't even buy storebought now, this is way too good and need so very little.
Anyway that's my thoughts on it.
I am going into my fourth year of low carbing with great success. I have recently started to add a 1/4c of shelled hemp harts every morning to my oatmeal or scrambled egg. Lots of protein and vitamin D and it is working great for my IBS .
Hey all. I've been doing the South Beach Diet, and I stuck to Phase One for longer than the book says (which is allowed). problem is, I'm getting very little fiber. Which, as everyone knows,is creating problems :\
I have a bottle of FiberSure, but that's only good for a quick fix. Long-term, it makes things worse (for me, anyway). I need NATURAL fiber in foods.
So my question is.. What foods are fiber friendly, but are still low-carb for the South beach?
