I am trying to stick to one new resolution this year that should help me in multiple areas, such as getting my exercise time in and time to prepare meals. I need to go to bed at a consistent time (earlier) and rise earlier so I can have free time to exercise and just have "me" time before my kids and husband get up. When I do this, I always feel better, so I hope to stick to this goal!
For maybe the first time, none of my New Year's Resolutions has anything to do with my weight. Instead, I'm aiming for ten positive mental changes, trusting that if I do these things, the weight problem will begin to take care of itself. Here are some of my resolutions:
1) Be brave. 2) Breathe in peace, breathe out worry. 3) Love more. 4) Be awake to what is beautiful. 5) Focus 6) Be even more imaginative.
I love these resolutions, so I have a lot better chance of keeping them.
I try not to specifically make the New Year resolution on the day, i.e. on Jan 1st I will never again eat a slice of "you name it"....this year I have purchased the Spark book and it's accompanying book about exercise physiology. Plus you get 500 extra Sparks points for buying it. But next year I do plan on slowly changing a few things.
