I have seen a significant decrease in bloating since working out three days a week for an hour plus each time. It really has helped me look and feel better. I have also started adding charcoal capsules to the supplements I take each day.

My doctor had to change or take away my medications because they had wheat in them. The metformin for diabetes was causing my bloating also. Chamomile tea is a good one to soothe bloating and stomach irritation too, according to the nutritionist. Get feeling better!
To DDoll and other women out there. I just read another article citing a British study ( I think) saying that symptoms of endometriosis sometimes are confused with IBS. If you think you have other symptoms that may reflect women's problems, I would ask my doctor. I happened to look it up bcause of an endometrial cyst. You may be barking up the wrong tree or are suffering with both. Hope NOT.

Well it is me again...Bloating down yesterday but up again today. I really have not changed anything in my diet but do I feel terrible. I am stressed lately so I guess that is what is causing the IBS flare-up.
DDDOLL59 I wish you all the best with you colonoscopy on November 2. How often do you have them? I usually have one done every couple of years. My bloating has subsided today...guess it was the peppermint. I have to use fresh peppermint as regular peppermint tea usually hurts my stomach...but I am okay if I put a fresh peppermint leaf in green tea.
I have IBC with severe C and bloating. I look about 6 months pregnant. My GI doctor keeps trying different combos of Amitiza and Miralax. Not much help. And of course I get the most horrible gas every afternoon. I am scheduled for another colonoscopy Nov. 2. She is having me prep 5 days ahead of time to make sure I get cleaned out. I think I'll try the peppermint and chamomile tea, too.
Just read an article about bloating. It said to avoid foods that say "fiber added". This is inulin, which produces bloating. We don't need to add to our woes. Stick with what you are doing with peppermint tea, etc. It calms. Plus also chamomile tea before bedtime has been helpful.
Yes, I too experience this type of bloating and pain. I usually take simethicone, either in chewable form or pill form twenty minutes after eating or as needed. I try to eat small meals and avoid gassy foods. Enteric coated peppermint pills as well as mint, fennel or chamomile tea also helps.
I am into about a week now of IBS C with extreme pain and bloating. The bloating is only in upper ab area. My jeans are not tight by any means...they are actually loose. BUT that upper ab area is very bloated right now.
Just wondering if anyone else experiences this type of bloating?
