Thanks Linda, I knew I was going to be sharing a room with at least one person, but didn't realize I was going to be sharing a bed, lol. And I didn't realize that these ladies would want the TV on so late when we were going to tired enough as it was. And really didn't realize that the a/c would be blasting. I think it really did help to make me sick, as I was really tired, rushed on bathroom breaks, rushed on lunch and dinner breaks, and then froze at night with the blankets pulled off of me during the night making me even colder. And then we had to walk through a smoke filled casino to get to the room, conference area, the food court and bathrooms, and I am allergic to cigarette smoke. So going and staying in a smoke filled casino is not my idea of a fun time. I am really not into gambling either, as I don't have the money to loose on it. So the first night I was there just because it was my birthday and we thought it might make me luckily I just spent 6 bucks on the penny and quarter slots machines. I won a couple bucks here and there but just keep letting them roll until it was all gone. And that was the only time I did any thing gambling while there, and the other ladies didn't do any more than that while we were there either. The few times I have gone to casinos before they had smoking areas and non smoking areas, so I was always able to stay in the non smoking areas. But this was an older casino and didn't seem to have non smoking areas. They are actually going to blow the casino that we stayed in up at the end of this month, and they are probably going to use that area as extra parking for the convention center we were told. So the Aug convention will be held in a different place, but I bet they are planning on cramming a lot of people into the rooms to save money again. And they are probably planning on having us in the seminar/convention/conference rooms for 9-10 hr days again. I went to day long or two day seminars before every yr while doing taxes, but I always did the ones right here in San Diego so I didn't have to get a hotel room. And they seemed better on timing too. We would start in the early morning and get out around 5 pm, so it was more like a regular work day. Not the long days like this was.

I was also just lucky that my IBS didn't act up while there or after. And I know I didn't drink as much water as usual while there. Because if I drank a lot while in the seminar, then I would need to go to the bathroom a lot and we didn't get a lot of time for bathroom breaks. And I didn't want to keep paying to buy bottled water to drink while there either. I was glad that I brought 4 bottles with me, so I only ended up buying two more while there. And the rest of the time I drank the water provide in the seminar and in the restaurants. As the food and other stuff was not cheap in that hotel either.

Janette - I am really happy that you are not going to the one in August. I would absolutely HATE having to share a bed with a work associate. Also, having that cold air conditioner on all night. I know that many people say that you don't catch a cold due to this. But I really wonder. The situation with the roommates sounded bad. You certainly didn't get much rest.

Thanks Linda, Luckily the boy has been with his mom this weekend so the house has been really quiet, and I was able to take nice long naps both yesterday and today which I think are really helping me. I don't sleep well as it is, as I am a really light sleeper. And when I was in Las Vegas I had a really hard time sleeping. The ladies I was there with had the TV going really late and would just go to sleep with it on, so I had to get up and turn it off. One had the A/C freezing the other lady and myself out. I had to share a bed with one lady and she kept stealing the blankets from me so that made me even colder. And then the A/C and plumbing where making lots of noises all night too. And we had to get up really early the first day of the seminar to register for it again and deal with other stuff related to the seminar. And then sit in a seminar class all day until late at night the first night of the seminar. So we just got short bathroom breaks and lunch and dinner breaks and was in the Seminar for about 10 hours, and didn't get to go to our room until after 11 pm. They should have made our days in the seminar shorter and gave us more time to ourselves. Luckily we went up the day before it all started so we had that evening to take a walk on the strip and go site seeing, but the ride up there was close to 6 hrs or so. But when we left on the second day of the seminar, we had already sat in a seminar from 7 am 5 pm, so about 10 hrs again. And then turned around and took about 4 hr drive or so to Orange County, Ca to drop one lady off. And then another 1.5 hrs to drive to Santee, Ca where the other lady lived, and then get into my truck and drive another 35 mins or so to home. It was around midnight when I finally got home last Sat night. I was just worn out and sick and wanting to be in my own house and own bed. The have another bigger and longer seminar/convention in Aug in Las Vegas too. But I am not planning on going to that one!

I went to church this morning. I felt fairly well but just as soon as I came home I felt really sleepy today. My tummy is okay and I hope that it stays this way. Fortunately, we had no plans for the afternoon so I could just come home and relax.

Janette - I am sorry that you are still not feeling well. I know it is awful to have the sinus issues and the sinus headache. I know how difficult it is to go through your day when you are not feeling well.

So sorry to hear it Linda! I had pretty much knocked the infection I had in my sinus out, but was still dealing with issues of itchy, sneezing, sniffles and back and forth from running to stuffiness, and my throat was going back in forth with irritated feeling, and a dry coughing hack still. I thought I was doing better Wednesday night and went to my work meeting that night. Thought I was still doing okay after that, but still not completely over it. The weather has been cooler since I have been back from Vegas and the last few days have been damp and wet days too. Last night the boy was with his mom. And the bf had to go into work really early Friday morning and had to stay there all night and didn't get home until just like an hour before I got home from my work meeting today. I tried to go to bed at a decent time last night as I knew I had to get up early this morning for work. But our dogs didn't want to go to sleep last night, especially the newest one. She was pacing in the house all evening and looking for the guys. I think she was concerned as to where the guys where. She didn't want to settle down. Didn't want to stay in the bedroom with me. And she has a chewing issue, so I don't want to leave her just wandering the house at night. I put both dogs in the crate around midnight for a few mins, to hopefully get her to realize that either she was going to settle down in the bedroom or she was going to stay in the crate all night. Well neither of them seemed to want to stay in the crate. So I let them out a few mins later and was happy that they seemed to got the idea and went into the bedroom and settled down so I could get some rest. But then I woke up and had a sinus infection in the other side of my sinus now and my throat was irritated again too and had a sinus pressure head ache. But I had already promised to come into the meeting early this morning as they had some thing special going on. So I just used some salt water spray in my sinus and took some hot water in a thermos with me. I still had a head ache that seemed to be getting worse when I got home, so I took a nice long nap this afternoon. The bf fell asleep shortly after I got home too as he was exhausted from his long work schedule that he had. So we both ended up sleeping away this day basically. And with the cold damp weather, I know it will be harder to get rid of this cold once in for all.

I have been down with a bad sinus headache. I have kept up with exercise but it is tough with the pain. Hope to have a good weekend, having rain tomorrow so that will probably contribute to another headache. I hope that you all are doing well. Happy Saturday!

Darlene, I would right to the guy that had the website. He might give you some info free if you give him info too. I had already receive a paper and computer file copy of one side of my mom's family tree from one of her relatives, and I started researching from it trying to find info on the other side of her family and found one Online that a gentleman had did on his family and he just happened to be a distant relative of my mom's. But I noticed that some of his info was incorrect and some of the newer stuff was missing. We made an agreement that he would send me a CD version of his website to look at That I could make paper copies of if I wanted, and I would send him computer files of updates and corrections with legal documents of proof of what ever I could supply him with like copies of birth and marriage certificates for my immediate family, and any info I had that he didn't have on my relatives on both sides of my mom's family. So we helped each other out for free, where otherwise everyone else he was charging them for the CD or other info. But since I had a lot of info and proof that he didn't have and I didn't have the money for the CD we were able to make a trade.

Well all my best to you all always.

My gut is bothering me tonight. I don't know if it is because I had a bit of Sprite, broccoli or what...but my belly is aching. I have been drinking water, walking etc. That sometimes helps but it isn't this evening.

Darlene - I am sorry to hear about the rabies. Yes, that is a big worry for you. I hope that you can get the money to have your horse vaccinated.

Janette - happy that you are feeling better.

When I was going to oncology I always started having problems with my IBS. Also did with my eye surgeries. And it would start at least a week before. I guess that proves that stress and anxiety can have something to do with it. So I definitely understand your wondering about having issues and being apprehensive.

I can't afford to get even the one book, much less any more than that. Can't really afford to go downtown to the library. I will have to find out when the LDS library is open. They don't have as much as the Denver Library, but they do have the free link to ancestry. Either one has inaccurate information so you really have to look at the official documents. I just read that ancestry has a lot of stuff listed as "index only" which means there aren't any pictures of the original documents.

Saw yesterday where there are skunks with rabies in 3 counties east of here and my horse is in the middle of them. So I now have to find stuff to sell to pay for rabies vaccine plus the call charge and she needs her teeth floated which is close to $150 more. Every time one thing gets closer to being evened out, something else comes up that I don't have the money to afford.

I am feeling okay. I have an appointment to get my hair done tomorrow and on Thursday I go to a doctor. Just knowing that I have to do this, makes me apprehensive. I always wonder if I am going to have an "issue" with IBS wherever I go. But right now I feel good.

Darlene - yes, if I were you I would write to the guy that has the website. Buying that book for $64 is expensive. You may eventually even have to buy more material which could really run into a lot of money.

Janette, I hope you are feeling somewhat better. What a time to get a cold.

Linda, I wish I could get as much energy as you have. It has been raining here, so I don't get out much at all. Guess I could go to the rec center gym, but I never remember to do it.

I don't know enough about my ancestors to try to get in DAR. I do have information on the Skidmore family that my ggrandmother went back to, but then I found another book that has them somewhat different. I think it was just one ancestor's name they have different. Both go back to about 1600 in England. I will try to get into the library downtown and see if they have the 2nd book I read about. They want something around $64 for it, I think. The other one the guy has a website that had the entire story of the family. I really should try writing to him.

I did a lot of exercise today. I went to the gym for a 50 minute workout. I also walked 4.37 miles. I like to get in as much as I can a few days per week. Some days I workout less but I had so much energy after the workouts. Now I am very tired. I have some cramping tonight due to something I ate. But hope I can feel well again in the morning.

Darlene - maybe you should try to check and see if you are able to join DAR. That would certainly be a very interesting organization.

Janette - I am so sorry that you have gotten sick with a cold while on your trip.It sounds like a busy trip.Too bad that you were not able to enjoy Las Vegas a bit more. Get plenty of sleep. Hope you feel better.

Thanks Ladies! I am back, but I am sick, so going to try to rest and sleep a lot to try to get over it asap. So Hello, and all my best to you all always. I was in the business seminar from early morning until late at night with hardly any time off. So not a lot of down time. And then other than trying to get some food in and sleep, I really didn't have a lot of time to do much else except the first night we got there before the seminar began which was on my B-Day. So I got to go out to dinner with the people I went there with and walk the Las Vegas strip sight seeing that night. But not much else after that except sitting in the seminar conference room.

Some where I saw a list of I think 50 free familytree type websites like ancestry dot com site. It might take me a few days or so, but I will try to find it and post it in here for you all later.

Okay, I am going to go lay down and try to go back to sleep, as I am suppose to be at an early morning training meeting tomorrow and then another one in the evenings tomorrow and Wed too. But the way I am feeling today, I am not looking forward to going. If not better, I might just skip them and have some one else on my team give me info from them so I can keep my cold germs to myself and try to get over this. I had a bloody nose Wednesday night before going to the seminar, and then my throat got irritated Friday and was worse Sat. Sunday I had another bloody nose shortly after getting up, and then it stuffed up and I started coughing and hacking later in the afternoon. This morning I woke up with my stomach cramping and a sinus infection, plus some coughing and hacking. And just a little bit ago, I was on my regular Monday morning webinar for work and the cramping acted up again and I had to step away from the webinar to go to the bathroom again. So really not feeling good today. Take care and all my best to you all always.

It is only one that was in the civil war (unless there is another one with the same name I haven't found). What I found was 2 men the same name in the IL infantry. I am pretty sure the one is my ggrandfather. The one where I found out so much about her ancestors and relation the guy had noted that one of them was murdered during the Civil War. He was on his porch at home in MO. My cousin recently contacted someone who is doing a presentation on my ggrandmother at the Oklahoma DAR. She didn't join, but went to find out if she was qualified, from what the lady said. I ought to try to find out more through there. Patricia hasn't got things all ready for her to research any more (she's a lot more organized than me).

Today we had cold and some thunderstorms. In eastern CO there was a tornado. I did get out to a class at the library and to the store. Trying to make sure I get healthier stuff.

We had a beautiful day. The weather was great. However, I know that tomorrow is going to be rainy so I will stay indoors more than I did today.

Darlene - I think it is so cool that you are learning about your ancestors. Knowing that two of them served in the Civil War Also, learning about your grandfather and when he was naturalized.

My mother always told me that her grandfather stowed away and then walked from wherever the ship landed to western Illinois where there was a large German population. I don't know if the stowaway story is true, but I did find a copy of when he was naturalized. Also found 2 with his name that served in the Civil War. Was the only thing I could find when I tried researching at the library, so I need to go to the downtown library or the LDS and have someone help me. At least I've been told that at the LDS you can get into ancestry without charge. I know you can at the library, I just can't figure out how to get to anything. Can't get to them from home.

We had rain for much of the day today. I did go out and take a picture of some tulips with their heads bowed and Cassie running back from the fence run with the dog next door. Haven't enlarged that to see if it turned out. Then ate some dip (free coupon from the store) that turned out to not be any good for my gut. So not too sure how well things are going to go the rest of the evening.

Today I did some walking and felt pretty well. I also did some grocery shopping and cleaning in the kitchen. I feel pretty well. It looks like a nice weekend weather wise.

Darlene - that is very interesting. I think is is fascinating for us to know more about our ancestors. They went through so much to migrate from another country.

I did ancestry.com for a while (about 2 months) but I cannot afford their charges. I need to go downtown or to the LDS library and find out how to get to things at ancestry through them. It is free through the libraries. I did get a link to one ggrandmother through them and found out my ggrandfather's name but didn't really get any information from them other than that. I did find someone that claimed my grandmother as in their line and had her date of death all wrong and someone else that had someone listed as my ggrandfather (though from some other line after him) but I found that all the children from that couple were born back in England AFTER my ggrandfather moved to the U.S. and had kids here. There are a lot of errors there, but most places that you try to get information from link to ancestry and then you end up having to pay. If you have a library with hookup to genealogy sites, that is probably the best way to go.

Darlene - are you using Ancestry.com? I have heard many good things about that site. Hubby and I have relatives that did our geneology so it is so nice to learn things about our past. My hubby's family is predominately German and mine is English.

I was having too many carbs for the same reason you had cereal -- hadn't been shopping. Now I just haven't gotten to the point I can completely stop having too many, though I have been having other things instead the last couple days.

Trying to find out about my ancestors I found I am a little less German than I thought, but still over half. My dad was less than half, my mom full (though she kept saying she was French - confusion there because she kept saying Alcess Lorraine, but that was Prussia and Germany). I am wondering if there are any good recipes for sauerkraut that would taste better than what you buy and if I could manage to make it if I found any. I just know that I can't stand the stuff that I have tried.

Today I stayed away from dairy. Although, I should say I had 1/3 of a cup of 2% milk in cereal. I normally don't eat cereal but since we haven't shopped for groceries yet, I needed something for lunch. At least I didn't get the stomachache that I had yesterday.

Darlene - My husband is German. We do eat sauerkraut fairly often. I had no idea of the benefits. I have not read much about the Paleo Diet. It is so difficult for me to stay on any type of diet. I just have to cut the calories and exercise more. That is all I can do.

Janette, hope you have a good and safe trip. Laptop sounds like a wonderful BD gift.

Linda, I have the same problem with milk.

I saw a program on public television the other night on how good bacteria works in the gut and picked up one of the lady's books. This one is very small and repetitive in the book, but it is something that I have heard some, so going to see if what she talks about helps. It is "The Road to Perfect Health" by Brenda Watson. Probiotics is something that Dr. David Perlmutter talks about some, too. My probiotic supplement isn't quite as strong as what Mrs. Watson talks about, but it is close. She tells what to look for in supplements (and has her own to sell, of course). I have something from Dr. Perlmutter on feeding the good bacteria, too, that I am going to read (email). One thing that I know everyone recommends on that is fermented foods. Like sauerkraut. Problem is I can't stand sauerkraut (really fits someone with mostly German ancestry, huh?). But maybe I will try to see if I can find something I like. Is pickled stuff a form of fermented? Got pickled beets last night. Those might be what is causing problems today, or else it is the fish I ate for breakfast.

I also picked up a book on the paleo diet. I know I can't go completely paleo, but a lot of it is similar to the Grain Brain stuff so I thought it might help.

Having a bit of gas after having some milk today. Sometimes I can drink it with no problem. But other times it really bothers me. Other than that, I went to the gym and got in a lot of exercise.

Yes, I was only able to track the dog walk which has been the same for ever since I knew what to put for it. But I have been doing a lot more walking for work that I hadn't been able to track for a few weeks now. I got lots of walking in yesterday, and will get in a lot today too. I am leaving on my business trip tonight. I got a lap top as my early B-Day Present since I won't be home for it tomorrow. I will take the lap top with me and hopefully will be able to get Online while I am gone. I probably won't be able to weigh myself while gone. But will track my steps and miles. I think I will probably be in a lot of walking while I am gone too.

Hubby and I are eating way too much junk food lately. I keep exercising but still I know that I could do without the junk food. I have gotten in a lot of steps today. Hope I can go to bed soon. Very sleepy this evening.

I am interested in the idea of Jello. I like to eat it anyway. It will be great if it can help with IBS. Today went pretty well. I felt okay except for a headache all evening. I did get in some exercise and happy about that.

Linda, I feel the same way. If I have the time I might try to change to a different one that is a little cleaner, but if I have to use one I will use one.

I've been watching/listening to a live interview with Dr. Temple Grandin. It is really on autism, but she was mentioning that at one time she was having a lot of problems with colitis and she ate Jello to ease that. She is now on a very low dose of antidepressant for the colitis and doesn't have problems with it anymore. Don't know how many might have colitis with their IBS, but maybe the Jello would help with things. She has been mentioning several of her books and which ones are better for different ages or conditions of autism. Dr. Grandin has done a lot of research with animals based on her experiences with autism and the books are based on that, too.

I have not had any contact with restrooms that charge to use. If I am out and have to go to the restroom I will try to find one in the store or some business nearby. When we go to the beach, I always go near a couple of the restrooms. They are not always the cleanest. However, it is better to go there than to have an accident. I hate IBS. We just never know when we will have an attack.

I have even seen that in the hospital restrooms, so it isn't anything new. Just wish they had someplace to go when you have to go in a hurry.

I don't remember seeing any with time limits, but I have been in some that I had to pay to get into. And even with paying to get into them, they don't stay clean and sometimes they are out of paper, or a stall or two is out of paper, or the paper towels to dry your hands are gone, or the soap is out, etc.

They don't stay too clean, but at least they have them some places. Comments are that they should restrict the time to 10 minutes or less and it should cost 10-25 cents. Guess the small fee would be okay, but when IBS hits the time limit might be a problem. Of course, in this city there are many, many people who will say that is a made up excuse that nobody really has and it is all because people don't eat healthy.

Some stores still have public restrooms that you can use with out having to buy something first or pay any thing to use. But others it doesn't matter if you bought something or not, you have to pay to use the restroom. Some charge a dime, some a quarter, and some more. They did that to help cover the cost of the maintenance of the restrooms, and the cost of the supply of the water, toilet paper, soap, etc. And it also cuts down on kids going in and messing it up, or people stealing the toilet paper and so forth. Others you have to ask for a special key from the customer service dept or such to get into the bathroom. There is a bathroom at the local park that is free. But it can be really messy some times, and the park is full of homeless people all the time. But they have never bothered me or any kids that I have took up there. I usually just walk on the side walk on the out skirt of the park any ways and I usually have a big dog with me when I go up there. When ever there is a special event in town, like when they are having a parade, 5 K, farmers market, or other festival they always put up lots of port-a-potties for everyone to use, so that helps.

Just out of curiosity, do you have trouble finding public restrooms where you live? They are having a discussion here about putting restrooms downtown. Of course the comments are they will only be good for drunks, homeless, drug addicts and prostitutes. No one cares about people who have problems and may not be able to find a restroom. The only things they have downstairs are in stores where you have to buy something in order to use their restroom and then you have to wait in line before they would let you use the restroom.

I am very sleepy today. The sleep study was very comfortable, no problem at all. However, I am super tired today after waking up several times. I posted a thread on our team regarding abdominal massage. I am curious to find out whether anyone thinks it is beneficial for IBS.

Today I went to the gym. Afterwards I came home and did some housework.I am feeling pretty well today.

Congrats Janette. It is wonderful that you passed the test with a high score. I get the same way when I am stressed. I also have terrible cramping. Have a great evening.

All my best to you always. My stomach was up set Wednesday and Thursday morning, but wasn't really D. More just IBS cramping from stress I think. As I was worried that I wouldn't pass my licensing test on Thursday. And my stomach was acting up just as I went in for the test too. But luckily it didn't bother me during the test. And right after the test they told me that I passed the test with a high score, so I was so relieved after that. And my stomach hasn't bothered me since. But I am fighting off some allergy stuff. I think it is from pollen and such. As my eyes and sinus seem to be bothering me off and on lately, like almost every other day or so. I ended up with a little bit of a bloody nose Wednesday evening before bed and had to put salt water spray in it. The boyfriend's son has been home sick from school every day this week except for Monday. As he came down with a bad chest cold. Luckily he is off school all next week so hopefully he can get over the cold before it is time to go back to school.
Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Easter too! Janette

I am starting to feel much better. The sores are not completely healed on my face. But at least they are a bit smaller. I had a bit of D on Wednesday evening after dinner. But felt well on Thursday.

Have a great day, everyone.

I have been really sick with a sinus infection that I cannot kick . Not feeling well But trying to stay active for decreasing my calorie count. I did a lot of housecleaning here last week. It makes me feel good to have things in order.

Yes, each year they keep making doing taxes more complicated instead of easier! I heard several people that have been in the field are getting fed up with it and are thinking of getting in another line of work.

I think ours is a Ford F250 and a V8. The boyfriend picked it out when we were moving into the house and remodeling the house. I miss driving my 4 door, 4 cylinder Toyota Camry that got good gas mileage. But too many problems with it right now to use it constantly.

Janette, that health plan stuff sure sounds like it causes a problem. I hope that it doesn't cause a problem for me. I am on Medicare because of being on Disability, and don't qualify for Medicaid because of the Medicare (that makes qualifying $300 less than otherwise), just a discount program they have here. Guess if I had to do anything with taxes I am fortunate that the accountant that used to do mine doesn't charge me because my income is way too low. Last time she did it the IRS refused the return. I'm glad that you have been able to get your return done.

I am like you, I drive one of those gas hog trucks. I have a heavy 3/4 ton. Didn't know it was a heavy until I couldn't get the exhaust inspection done in the regular lanes. I like my truck, just wish the gas consumption wasn't so high. Can't afford to get anything else (and probably wouldn't be comfortable in much else when those big trucks go by -- sometimes not even comfortable in the truck).

Thanks Linda! I am driving a gas hog truck, so it won't fill the tank up, but every bit helps. I did mine on paper, and then my ex-boss double checked my work and entered the stuff herself into her computer system and sent it on to the government for free for me. She knows I can't afford to pay her or anyone else for it. And the new affordable health care laws have changed how thing have to be done. It has added several more pages to tax returns and it can cost $100 - $200 more just for those pages to be done. And it complicated my return as I don't have a health plan that I or a company paid for, I am on Medi-Cal, a government low income plan. But it wasn't one of the government plans that was listed as exempting me from having to have a plan that I paid for. But luckily the way we both read it, my income is so low that I am exempt that way. Some people where going to have to fill out special papers to send along with their returns, and others where going to have to call or go Online to the "Exchange" before they could even file their returns. But it doesn't look like I have to do any of that.

FancyQTR, I wish you all the best always! All my best to the whole team.

My friend said that I should not have any problems with my IBS during the play because I will eat at home rather than at the dinner they have before the performance. She thinks I know what the triggers are and will stay away from them. Yeah, that means I don't eat for that week at all, because I don't know what sets things off. Today it was either my eggs (which I eat for breakfast a lot and no problems) of the fiber supplement that I put in my tea, which is what I really suspect it was. I only used 1/4 teaspoon. Everyone always says to take those supplements and no one thinks that they will cause me problems, but will help all the time. Well, that turned into a real mess.

The Cinnamon Stick tea I was getting is Bigelow. I think I like it because it has more cinnamon flavor than the others I tried. I have two other brands of cinnamon teas. One it cinnamon orange, I think, and one is cinnamon spice. Tried those when I couldn't find the Bigelow.

I am having a bit of trouble with my play lines. I know them completely, but when trying to do them with the others I have to stop and think what they are. Not good. I finally got them to do our practice a couple times last night. We had only run through that scene one time before and I kept getting in trouble because I didn't know how to do anything but the lines. This week we will be doing dress rehearsal and I hope they will go from beginning to end, not stop at the earlier scenes. Meanwhile, we are speaking our scene while they are practicing other scenes and I have asked a couple people at church if they will go through it with me So any prayers that I can get it right and glorify God, please add them. Play starts next Sunday.

Darlene

I have been doing a lot of Spring cleaning this week. Today may be the last day and things are looking better. Feeling well.

Janette - yes, that $27 may fill up your gas tank of your car lol We are doing our taxes on April 6th. But we do have an accountant do it. We are getting it free though and I would hate to pay for it. It's good that you did it yourself.

I ran some errands this morning. I had to get the new license tag for the car, drop by the gym to renew my membership for the year and picked up a Subway breakfast sandwich. So far it isn't bothering me. I never know when I eat something whether it will be a trigger. Still having sinus issues including the never ending headache. Have a great day, everyone.

Today I have had a bit of a headache (sinus) but doing okay other than that. We took a walk today. I also ran some errands. For some reason, I just didn't feel as well as yesterday. But my IBS is okay.'

Darlene - I have never had cinnamon stick tea. I do like cinnamon so I am sure I would like it. I will check the stores for some. I really like herbal teas. Glad that you got your glasses. I will have a eye check up in a month or so. I will see if I need a new prescription.

Janette - good luck with your studies.

Linda, glad you are feeling a little better. I've been sleepy, too, probably because I got caught by a cold. Otherwise doing well.

I got my new glasses today so I was able to get out and find some things I wanted. I keep wanting some Cinnamon Stick tea and nobody close seems to carry it anymore. So I end up going quite a distance (for city living) to find it. Got 3 boxes so I don't have to run down that way again for a while. I think there is only one place that carries it anymore.

Janette, I have never found any of the sprays to work. Bitter Apple was the worst because any dogs I tried that for just loved the taste and would lick it off if not chewing stuff up. I also tried the sprays to keep a horse from chewing stuff and that didn't work, either.

I was naughty today. Had to take a couple books back and went to Sprouts for a couple things (healthy there). Then worked my way over to Dairy Queen for a free ice cream cone. Didn't remember or hear why they were having them, though, so I guess I am going to have to send a little direct to the hospital. Of course, they can always donate part of the sales of other things, like the expensive fudge bars I bought.

I just heard we hit 80 today. A cold front is going to hit tomorrow, but I think it is suppose to be in the mid 50s. The highest the rest of the week will be the 60s. I wish it would stay sunny and 70s, but we do need moisture again.

Sometimes when I have to go out and I am worried about IBS especially the "D" I will eat really lightly, or skip it until I am heading home or I get back home too. I definitely have issues of stress that make it worse, or even cause the problem in the first place.

Thanks Ladies, I first just had my little dog that liked to try to get between us or try to steal our pillows. She loved to sleep on a pillow. She started sleeping in the boy's room as he had two regular sized pillows and a decorative half size pillow on his bed. And most of the time that bed was empty as the boy was at his mom's house or asleep on the couch. The kid always wants to sleep on the couch and watch TV late on the weekends. And so his dad lets him do that a lot, and supposedly he does that at his mom's house too. When the boyfriend started talking about getting the kid his own dog for here, I begged for another medium to small type dog. As I just knew that this new dog and I were probably going to be fighting for bed space. And what did they pick out but a big boxer/Lab mix that just hogs the bed. And most of the time she has to be right between us or right on top of my legs and feet. It was after we got her that my dog choose to start taking over the boy's bed where she usually had it too herself. After she passed away and we started talking about getting another dog and they wanted another lab or boxer, I again said I wanted a smaller dog. Not something too tiny that would be too easy for the big dog to accidentally hurt. But not another big dog that I would have to fight for bed space with. We ended up with one about the same size as my dog was. And she could take over the boy's bed but she has a chewing problem, especially with the kids belongings for some reason. So she isn't left alone in his room with out him in there. And she has still chewed stuff up while he was sleeping. She hasn't chewed anything up in our room. She has grabbed a couple of things a couple of times, but I always saw her do it and got them back right away. But she has chewed up stuff out in the living room and other rooms too. So we are working on that with her. And the spray that you can buy didn't stop her at all, she even seemed to like it.

Well take care.

Linda, I do get the anxiety, I think. I am hoping that I can manage to eat light. I have some problems with the rolls (wheat and yeast), because they cause gas, but they help keep the D down. I am trying to decide whether to have a roll or two each evening to see if it will help me.

Venture used to lie on top of me all the time. It wasn't from his fear, but as far as he was concerned I was his and he didn't want anyone else to get too close.

Today I did some traveling in the car for a few hours to go for a visit. I felt okay but still very gassy and now have developed C. I rarely get that but it must have been something I ate. Also have a bad sinus headache.

Darlene - many people will disagree with me when I say this. But if I were in the play I would eat very lightly, or nothing, most of the day. I have to do this whenever I have appointments because I fear D or gas. I do drink water. I know this is not the healthiest thing to say, but for me it is necessary not to get worked up. Of course, along with IBS I have anxiety issues so this may be my problem. I can work myself up especially of worry of having an IBS attack. I hope that you do not carry anxiety like I do.

Janette - that sounds so funny about the dogs and your b/f. lol I have only had one dog at a time so I never had to worry about it. But I do remember my dog lying on top of me if there was a storm outside. The last dog I had was so afraid of hearing thunder. Glad that your weather is nice and sunny.

Thanks Darlene, It happens a lot that I wake up and find myself squished to the edge of the bed by the boyfriend and two dogs. Usually when it happens I will wake up and go to the bathroom since they woke me up any ways. And then I come back and start pushing them back to the other side of the bed. But they usually just end up pushing me back to the edge again later. So a couple of times since I knew the couch was empty, I just got up and went to sleep on it.

We are having nice, warm and sunny 90's weather lately. All my best to you all always. Janette

Janette, I have the dog that will push me off the bed, too. The only bed I can sleep in is a single since the mattress on the double feels like a pile of rocks. Orzo finds it okay, though, since he is light weight enough. I didn't even realize that Cassie had pushed me to the edge of the bed the other night until my legs and feet wouldn't stay on the bed.

Linda, I don't know if the stress causes gas or not. I know that I have problems with that most all the time and am trying to get that straightened out as well as keeping the D away. That will worry me about the play. Last year I got hit in the middle of the play one night.

I have a lot of trouble with my memory, too, but mostly with trying to remember names or to do things. I also am very bad at losing track of time, though that is mainly because I get to doing something and don't notice the time passing. I used to do that at work and miss my lunch. One would think I would lose weight when I do that, but I don't.

We are suppose to get the mid-70s today and tomorrow so I am hoping I will not lose track of time and will go out and be outside for a while today. That way I can turn off the space heater for a longer period. Tuesday is suppose to drop back into the 50s.

They have a new show on Create TV that I haven't seen before. Today he showed different kinds of eggs, then the next show had some kind of meat pie and eclairs. Oh, I want one of those eclairs (at least they are light weight).

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

Darlene

Thanks! I was actually in an air conditioned office a lot this morning and so I was actually getting a little cold toward the end of the day. But I got a lot of walking in before, during and after and it was really nice. Once I got home I changed out of my dress clothes which felt good to get out of the pantyhose, bra and such. We had a fans going in the house so it wasn't bad at all. When it will bug me is when I try to go to sleep and it is still warm, and then on top of it I have at least one if not two dogs that seem to want to sleep right on top of my legs and feet or right up next to me. Some times they end up pushing me to the edge of the bed. I actually got up and went to sleep on the couch a few nights this week just to get some rest away from the crowded bed, lol. If it is too hot in there tonight I will turn the fan on along with opening the windows. I just had the windows opened this week, but I will turn on the fan if it gets too bad. And I can always go back out to the couch and shut the dogs in the bedroom with the boyfriend like I did a couple of nights too.

I got in a short walk today. I did get in plenty of water. But have had a lot of gas. I was fine until I received a few phone calls from family members. After that, my belly was aching. I don't know if stress can also cause gas. I know that D often hits me when I am stressed.

Darlene - I hope that the play and rehearsal goes well. I have a tough time with my memory anymore. I didn't snack after dinner tonight. But I had too much sodium at my meal.

Janette - it was around 83 here today. I know when it hits 90s it feels very hot. Hope you get some lower temps soon.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

sending warm thoughts your way. It was 91 here today and will be in the 90's for a few days before slowing cooling off again for a bit.

Linda, I am in the same boat with the snacking when not hungry. Lately all I want to do is eat something else. Then the IBS hits. I have simply got to stop that.

We finally got to rehearse our scene from the Passion Play last night. Unfortunately, even though I know the lines perfectly well, I forgot all of them. Then they changed the running and I can't get the timing right. We were told to do more at the tomb before I run to the door, but that made it so I couldn't hear the music and I got yelled at for being late. So today I decided to listen to the music on my MP3 and figure out the timing. The MP3 I have is a pain to start (I have to change the settings every time and can't figure them out) and then the battery went dead almost right away. I don't know how much charge it has to it, but I've got it hooked into the computer for a while.

It hasn't warmed up for the day here and the wind is cold, so Cassie and I came back in and I have the space heater on again. I am trying to do without those and turn the thermostat down, but the house is still feeling cold all the time. When it warms up outside I will try to spend more time out there so I can be warm instead of shivering.

I had a good day. The weather was 80, the sun was shining and I felt well. I took a walk after going out for a nice breakfast with hubby. I was happy to get a couple of miles. I then did a workout video. I worked on some household chores and laundry. Hubby decided to throw a pair of the pants he wore into the washer. Unfortunately his cell phone was in the pocket. So it went through the wash. Now it is in a closed container with rice. emoticon There is no reason that I needed snacks after dinner. I was already full from a nice dinner at home. It didn't stop me from eating Frito's. emoticon So tomorrow I have to get back on track.

Well, Linda, it's been 3 surgeries to get my eyes here. But they aren't as bad as some surgeries people have had and they worked, so I am pretty happy about it. Before I wouldn't have been able to get to the grocery or the food pantry without glasses, but I was able to see the traffic and things, just not read the signs, so I did sneak out and do it. I am fortunate I haven't had macular degeneration and the retinopathy hasn't gotten bad enough to cause a problem.

Today I went to the food pantry so that I could get the dog and cat food from the pet food pantry. That took working out finding the route with little traffic, but I managed. Pulled my number and then checked the calendar they have on the bulletin board. I was a week early. I don't know why I thought this was the 3rd Friday of the month.

Hope you all are having a nice day. We had some rain (not much), but it is pretty warm outside. Not so warm in the house so I have a sweatshirt on over my sweater.

Darlene - you are so lucky! Your eyes are so much better than mine. As I have aged, my eyesight is really failing.

Tes, I'm glad you are healing okay and are able to get out. My friend's husband would love some cakes like you are making. He is a big Minnesota fan -- I think all the teams. If they were playing one of the Colorado teams he would be on the MN side. Besides, they really sound good. Would love to see pictures of them (would also like a taste, but I know that isn't possible.

My eye appointment went real well. Even my left eye, with the blind spot in it, I was able to see up to 20/30 and part of 20/25 line.. The last I just kept losing some of the letters too fast to be able to pick them up. The best I had done before was barely 20/40 and that was before the cataract got bad in that eye. My other eye is 20/20 with glasses. I also got my prescription so was able to go down and order my new glasses. Won't be able to get them until next week, though. So my friend has to come take me again. It might work out that we go on the way to play practice.

Wasn't able to find any sandals today. We tried 3 places and I don't really know where else to try. Maybe another Payless. I think there are 2 others. My friend took my old Naturalizers home to see if she could get some polish to stay on them so I can just use them. They are tight enough to stay on, I know that.

Today I went to get my haircut. I also ran some errands and took a walk. Wonderful weather. Feeling pretty well today.

Tes - Happy to hear that you are healing well. Also, it is good that you are able to walk for exercise. However, that bra sounds excruciating. I hope that you are able to get back into another bra soon. You sound busy with the cupcakes.
