I have been feeling well. I ate too much on Thursday but did drink plenty of water. I also got in 90 minutes of exercise. Happy Friday, everyone.

I may have to try. I am looking up parts now and I don't think I can afford them.

I have never done any of the "Fund Me" type stuff before myself, but I have heard a lot of people talking about it on FB and some of them have good reasons for the money and some stupid and still get it from what I heard.

That might work, I don't know. I have been calling the NAPA auto parts stores and none of them accept the NAPA Car Care card. I do know a couple people who tried the crowd fund though and got nothing. Well, one got a very small amount after having her thumb torn off and insurance hardly paid anything for the reattachment. I keep trying to save money and get the bills down and all that happens is I get hit with emergencies.

Okay, now I understand that you need your own transportation or some one else to take you to see Fancy. So sorry to hear it! All my best to you always. I heard there is such a thing as "Go Fund Me" where you can go online and request financial help from strangers for things like this when you are financially strap and need money. You might want to check into that.

Because I can't afford to get my truck fixed. At least not at what they said is wrong with it.

I talked to my cousin last night and he told me that one of the parts can't be damaged by the backwards part so I have contacted another garage to see if they accept the credit card I have for the truck. Dave is a friend of my home mechanic and I think he would be completely honest with me. If it costs too much for him to fix it, I have already contacted Danny to see if he can help me with it. At least I will know what parts actually do need replaced and what size. If I can get it done that way, then I will be able to see my girl. Otherwise I will never be able to go see her again unless a friend can take me. She has her nieces in town, so it would be a couple months before she could take me.

I like the lemon water and such. Not grapefruit, though. Sometimes I will put lemon and honey in the water.

I try to keep with fairly local raw honey. Both places are pretty far from Denver, each about 50 miles or so, but that is better than getting them from Arizona or something like that. Not that their honey is bad (and I would love to have some orange blossom honey that I haven't had for many years), but local is supposed to be healthier because of something like helping with allergies. Something with the connection with the allergens in the area.

Got a little worried about having problems today, but made it okay. I took the truck down to get the brakes worked on and it took longer than they thought. They brought me home, then I went and took the bus to go pick it up. I had to walk a bit from the bus stop. And that was HOT. It was 92 and then there was heat coming from the buses making it hotter. I will not be able to drive the truck much because the brakes damage was more than I thought (actually, I didn't think they were damaged, just needing new pads or shoes, whatever. It turned out to be shoes, drums and adjuster springs and I couldn't afford to have that done. So I am looking for the parts and Danny is going to do the work in a couple weeks. I was so upset today because if I can't get the brakes fixed I will never be able to see Fancy again and that is killing me. It is bad enough to have to wait longer than I was going to.

Yes, Braggs Organic with Mother I heard was the best. Raw honey is suppose to be the best too, as heating it to process it like the do with most of the stuff sold in stores kills most of the good stuff. If you get good raw honey it is: Bee pollen is a super nutritious compound, containing all the nutrients required by the human body. It is a source of proteins, vitamins, minerals, beneficial fatty acids, carotenoids and bioflavonoids which are antiviral, antibacterial and helpful to cardiovascular health. - See more at: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/blog/guest-

If it is hot and muggy it can make it runnier, and when it is cold out it could make it thicker. Vinegar will make it taste bad, but it is so good for you. most of the time I just put the vinegar in water and try to drink it down fast, just like yucky medicine. Some times I will put some lemon juice and honey in it. But I don't add a lot of honey, as that is just adding calories and sugar in take for me. Like I said, I just try to get it down fast. And I have been drinking it on and off for so many yrs now to help with asthma, colds, and bladder and kidney issues that it really doesn't bother me that much any more. I don't really like tart stuff like grapefruit, lemon-aid, even pink lemon-aid. But I would rather drink a glass with vinegar fast then grapefruit or any lemon-aid, and I know it is healthier for me too.

I can't remember what the cinnamon is in the grocery stores. The cinnamon that is supposed to be good, like what they say will help lower blood sugar, is ceylon cinnamon. There is a really good spice shop near me that I got that at and also the cinnamon EO that is made for with cooking. It is double distilled and it is pretty strong.

I also thought about it this morning and the vinegar is supposed to be that with the mother, like Blaggs or Braggs (can't remember the exact name of the brand). I tried the stuff this morning and it was awful. I'm wondering if more honey & cinnamon will help. Might be better with the thicker honey, too (raw, wildflower). Not sure why the honey I have now is thinner unless it is the heat.

I think the essential oil would be even better! As it is good quality cinnamon and I have read that most of the cinnamon powder we buy in store is really not 100 % quality cinnamon, but part cinnamon and part a similar cheaper plant as a filler. Just like I heard most honey in store if it doesn't state 100 % pure honey can have cheaper fillers added too like corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup or such. I some times put honey in mine too. I tried the cinnamon powder and it floated and seemed to bother me. And I didn't do it always regularly either. I did it more when I had a cold.

I have also read that a lady on FB uses 1 teaspoon each of vinegar, honey and cinnamon in warm water each day. She takes it morning and evening. Her husband takes just once a day now. That helps her with all her indigestion. I keep forgetting to try it, but will have to. Might help with my practically nightly gas attacks. My advice there is to mix the cinnamon and honey first because ground cinnamon just floats on top of liquid. I wonder if a drop or so of cinnamon essential oil in place of the teaspoon of ground will work.

I got really bad heartburn Friday evening that was still with me Sat morning and "Tums" didn't do anything for it. I had to go to work early Sat and didn't really want to eat because of it so I just had some yogurt hoping that it would help. But when I got back home before noon and it was still there, I remembered reading that apple cider vinegar was suppose to be good for it. So I put a cap full of it into a glass of water and it worked. The heartburn went away and I was able to eat lunch right after. I had lots of veggies for my lunch and was still fine. Later that evening I had a hamburger and fries that the boyfriend picked up for us and again I was still fine. And still fine all day today.

So if you haven't tried it, you might want to give it a try next time. Janette

I went out to lunch with hubby. I did not eat the entire meal but have had such heartburn since then. ugh! I also got in a 2.5 mile walk and some laundry. The weather was not as hot today and the humidity was down a bit. But it will all return this week.

I do want to see that movie soon

I read an article on the training of the dogs in Max. It was interesting. The point of the movie is to show that dogs can be rehabilitated even though they have been through something traumatic like Max was. It was a little funny how Max chose the younger brother of his handler as "his."

It was a nice day today, though I fell asleep for a few hours this afternoon. Orzo saw me turn over around 5:15 this morning and decided it was time for me to get up. I went back to bed for a little while, then got up and fed and got ready for church. It's cooled off quite a bit this evening. Thought it might rain, but it hasn't yet.

Saturday was busy. We had family over and tried to have a pretty healthy dinner.

Darlene - I am sorry to hear that you had such bad weather and flooding. I have seen the previews of the movie Max and it does look good. We have had two German Shepherds in our life and I just love them.

All my best to you all always. They put lemon and lime slices in the water for our Women's event at work and it was really good. I am still enjoying my orange oil in water at home too.

Fancy, Glad you were able to go to the movie after making a pit stop at home. I have seen the preview for that movie and I think we are suppose to go see it after the boyfriend's son comes back from vacation in FL if it is still playing then, which I think will be in a couple of weeks. So glad to hear you were able to get back to your home okay finally after the storm. Take care of yourself. Janette

I think that I will need to order some more Lemon Essential Oil and try more in my water. Until then maybe I can start to remember to use the lemons.

My friend took me to see the movie Max today and after we went to Chili's. I did have a problem on the way to the movie, so we had to come back to my house to straighten it out. I was find after that and even through the restaurant. Had a nice time, though that movie was a tear jerker for me. A lot of sad tears and some happy ones.

Got caught in the storm the other night and ended up waiting it out at a local restaurant. Couldn't get back across town to my house, where I heard the wind was high and the power was out. The roads between where I was and home were all flooded. It was sure nice to make it home after that.

I got some free orange oil - Do Terra brand at a women's mixer on the 9th and I have been putting some of it in my water a lot and I really like the taste of it. I couldn't really tell you if it was doing anything to help me, other than it smells and taste good.

That is interesting about the lemon peels. I have never used them. I know that some people use lemon in their water. I have been told that this helps the belly. I really don't enjoy them in my water. But if I find out that they may help us with IBS I will certainly want to try it.

I think that Craig's List is all over in the U.S. at least. That is where I found my freezer.

I was just watching Dr. Oz and they are doing natural medicine segment. They were just talking about indigestion and that lemon peels help it. I don't know if that includes IBS or not, but interesting to try. It is the d-limonene that is supposed to help. Being an essential oil person I have heard a lot about limonene, but just haven't used it enough to see if it makes a difference. Maybe I can manage to order some more and try it or at least cut up lemons including their rinds and put in water. I also read something recently about grinding up entire lemons, including the peel, and freeze them. I guess that is supposed to release the limonene, but I don't really know. I don't remember if it said on that.

Just ask around, you will be surprised with what other people have and don't really need or want, but don't want to just toss out. Those tomato cages do good too when first starting off plants. There are websites where people post stuff that they want to get rid of cheap or free too, so check those out. Here we have what is called "Craig's List" I haven't go on it but I know a lot of people that do and get all kinds of stuff free. I don't know if Craig's List is all over or just local, so you will have to check that out.

Thanks for all the ideas. With next to nothing budget I can sure use them. We did have a net for over the cherry tree some time back, but I think it might have been thrown out.

I've asked friends if they have any extra tomato cages. I still need 3. Might also need some wire around the bottom part of the taller ones. I didn't realize they were so open at the bottom. I don't think they will have the stakes or fence posts, though. I have some fence posts, but they are holding up broken fence.

That sounds like a good idea. My mom used a lot of what ever she had available, or that people gave her, or that she could get cheap. So she had a miss match of metal stakes-poles and wooden ones, some lattice fencing and such. She used heavy clothesline and plastic covered wire spread across at different heights between the poles-stakes. She would use cut up old pantyhose, twine, heavy string, free food ties that you get from grocery stores to close plastic bags of food, and stuff like that to actually tie the vine to the lines strung between the poles-stakes, or up to the lattice fencing. As the vines get longer you can keep hanging them up higher and higher. She would also sometimes put some type of netting up to try to keep birds out of peach trees and off of some of her garden. Some times for really hot weather or frost she would put old sheets up above the plants or sheets of plastic. She sometimes would get straw or bark to put down on the ground to help keep weeds out and also help with frost and such. Maybe you can get a net that has big enough holes for the small birds to come in but not the big birds and put it over a tree and put the bird feeders on that tree?

Janette, I am thinking of a couple rows of stakes, with one row at least 6 feet and the one where the vines will be on maybe a little shorter. I was told to get heavy clothesline rope to train them to. Then I want to put some type of netting over all that the sun can get through, but not the birds. I just went down there and there was a bird in the garden. On the way down I commented on it and that got Cassie going after the birds. That isn't what I wanted done. After all, I got them a bird feeder so they would come around more. The black birds (Grackles) get on the side of the feeder, though, and throw the seed all out on the ground. It means filling the feeder every day and I can't afford that. I don't know how to keep it just for the smaller birds, though.

I did a bit of weeding earlier today and hope to go back out later and do some more. I planted a red geranium in my 4th of July pot (had a white one I planted the other day) and planted a new Columbine. I need to get the weeds away from the side of the garage so I can plant the Hen and Chicks groups that I got the other day. 3 different kinds. Tomorrow I will try to get another couple kinds of squash planted, some basil down with the tomatoes, and a cantaloupe. I was told one reason my squash will die on me as soon as I plant is that it doesn't like being planted in the middle of the day. Wish I had known that earlier. I couldn't find another spaghetti squash, so have butternut and kabocha.

Get some lattice fence or at least some poles or some type of stake to tie up the vines to get them off the ground. That is what my mom use to do. Take care. Janette

Great to hear you are all doing well. I am doing pretty well but for once in a while. I tried starting to add fiber supplement again and guess I got too much yesterday, so had a little problem.

We went and got me a used freezer yesterday. Now I just pray that I will have some produce from the garden to either freeze or can. So far the rabbits and birds have enjoyed a couple of my plants and one I think has completely died. I still have 6 large tomato plants and 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 pie pumpkins, 2 anaheim peppers and 2 jalapeno peppers and 1 cabbage. Have room for about 4 or 6 more plants, but I'm not sure what. I may try for another squash (the plant that died was spaghetti squash that I use for spaghetti instead of pasta). And I need to make something to get the vines to grow up on rather than out into the yard.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Darlene

Feeling pretty well. Things are not too bad for my belly for most of the week.

Perrybabe - I know that you are so relieved that the tests came back well. I do the same thing, I always want a copy of my results to review.

Thanks Linda. I did receive a call yesterday telling me my labs were all within the normal range. However, they are sending a printout to me as well. That was my request. I like to know exactly what they are. Also, I am going back Monday morning to have more blood work to change a medication. Nothing is wrong; I'm just being proactive again. emoticon

Perry Babe - good luck. I am happy that you are being proactive. Good luck with the tests and visit to the doctor. I hope all shows that you are avoiding diabetes. I have pre-diabetes.

Going to the family practitioner tomorrow morning to have annual blood work. I may see if she will order a test for H Pylori virus since I've had a history of a lot of antibiotics. I've been having problems with an ear for several months now, too, and I wonder if that could be causing my dizziness rather than the IBS. Since some of my stress has been alleviated, I've felt quite a bit better the past few days. Still, I hope she'll listen to, and cooperate with, me. She may refer me back to the GI. Sometimes I wonder why I bother with going to her. emoticon I definitely have the gnawing sometimes after I've just eaten. I will be getting my blood sugar checked tomorrow, so we'll see. I hope after all I've accomplished in the last 2 years I don't have diabetes. That was one reason I did all this -- to avoid diabetes.

Darlene - I have the same symptoms at times. It occurred a few days ago. I ate a good dinner and an hour later I felt as though my stomach was completely empty. I had to find something to eat. I ate and then the cramping started and the D began. It is just awful to have IBS.

Most of the time those things on FB don't fit me (like I get that I am the leader everyone looks up to a lot), but that just really fit. I wasn't really sure whether to put the Hazel or the Green. I have dark green ring outside, mostly green (the part that changes color a little bit) and right around the pupil is kind of a golden brown.

I have been having problems not so much with the IBS, but with seeming to have a bottomless pit in me. I can eat and within an hour my stomach will be growling again. Of course, it ends up triggering some kind of IBS problem. The other day it was keeping me up all night. Now I am finding out that my cat probably has it, too, but on him things just keep coming back up. Ugh.

Darlene - I wonder if that is true. My two DD's have hazel eyes - they fluctuate between green and brown. Mine are brown. This is a really interesting idea.

Just read this on FB. Wonder if this is my problem:

Hazel eyes are the chameleon of eyes. They tend to change color reflecting what is nearest to them, going from green to brown, and everywhere in between. Hazel eyes are unique, and people with this color iris are independent, confident, and spontaneous. Some have more melanin than others, so personalities can differ, but the most consistent trait is that people with hazel eyes are often hard to read. University of South Australia's Dr. Matthew Leach proposed that a liver imbalance can be the cause of hazel eyes, which may also account for most having digestive problems

Mine are on the green end of hazel and turn blue green if I am wearing something blue or green.

I know how painful shoulder problems are. I had a shoulder replacement of my dominant arm. I now cannot lift the arm and still have pain when it is moved in a certain way.

I had a rough night last night with D. I have a feeling it was more of a stomach bug than IBS-D. Feeling much better today and had a good workout at the gym.

Today I felt well most of the day. However, after dinner starting having a cramping. Ugh!

Perrybabe - Glad to hear that you have had a baseline colonoscopy. I am sorry about your injuries. I broke my shoulder in 2011 and I had to have a shoulder replacement. Rough!

Thank you for the info Ashley. Does stress aggravate your IBS? I've had back pain with mine, and I've had terrible gas lately. I have a feeling I'll be having the same test pretty soon. My GI wanted to do one last year, and he did do a baseline colonoscopy which turned out to be perfect. My insurance was still new, so I was afraid they wouldn't pay for the scope procedure. Then, last summer, I broke my arm and shoulder and had to have surgery. So, I was consumed with all that. Then, when I was healed up from that, I started taking a class and went back to work. Add to that, some family problems, and I've had a lot of stress lately which aggravates the IBS. I can't help but worry that it might be more, and that may be aggravating it. emoticon
