I felt pretty well today. The past two days have been busy. I am getting in my exercise. Drinking a lot of water and having a lot of freggies. Hope the D stays away.

Janette - I am so sorry to hear about your BF's job! I hope that he can find another soon.

I am back to working half days on Mon - Thursday for right now.

The bf is losing his job on May 5th. So I might end up trying to pick up more hours at work or else where down the line to help out with bills.

Have a great weekend and take care everyone

Things have been hectic since we moved. Sorry I have slacked off on the threads. D has been non existent for several days. I am very happy about that. Sticking with water and a lot of exercise.

Hi everyone! I had a busy week doing my regular job, and then helping to check the system to make sure all our clients tax returns and extensions were accepted by the Feds and states, getting our clients sales tax reports, 1st Qtr Fed and State reports, and other stuff all done this week, so my boss could leave the state for a few weeks. His wife went to Chicago last winter to be close to her parents, so he hasn't seen here since right after the start of the new year. So he is going to be there until after the start of May. So I will have the office to myself until then. I am supposedly going to be working Mon - Thurs from 9 AM until around Noon or 2 PM at the latest while he is gone. So I should have three day weekends and more time during the week to try to catch up with things around the house, and try to get my weight under control more with more exercise hopefully too.

I had a busy weekend so far. I did a lot of house work Friday and yesterday. Ran errands yesterday and went with my bf to get one of his teeth removed. Today I have some work to do at home for my job to help my work go faster and easier tomorrow with payroll and such. I still have a lot of laundry piled up in the garage to catch up on washing towels, sheets, blankets and such, but did a lot of it already the last two days.

I hope you are all doing great, take care. Janette

My IBS has been fine since I gave up the lara bars. I have been eating the "Kind" bars a lot at work and no issues with them at all.

I was fine a day or so after my last Lara Bar, so I am sure it was them that bothered me. I had different "Kind" bar today it was nuts and coconut. It was good and not a sticky mess and didn't bother me at all.

I have not tried any of the bars. I guess I am always afraid they will irritate my IBS. I had D a couple of times this past week. It seems as though it takes very little to aggravate and cause D to act up. Feeling well for the past couple of days.

I saw the quest bars tonight too, but they mostly had ones with dark chocolate in them and it can give me bad heartburn a lot. They had one that didn't have it, it had strawberries in it and I think it was cream or Yogurt or something like that, I forget now. But they wanted close to $30 for the box. I was tired and in a hurry, so I didn't try to figure out how much that would equal per bar, but just looking at it quickly it looked more expensive than the "Kind" bars and I could get a smaller box of them pretty reasonable so I went with that. I didn't want to buy a big box of something I didn't even know if I would like or not, or if it might make me feel sick to my stomach.

Maybe when I get to a walmart or other store where I can just buy one bar to try, I will check out more different brands.

Oh, I saw Luna bars for the first time tonight when I went to smart and final to pick up some groceries. But didn't buy any. I bought some more "Kind" bars since I liked them and they didn't seem to bother me.

Thanks for the input. Actually, for me, it was Luna bars, not Lara. Still, maybe there are enough common ingredients in both of them. Thanks.

Well, I had problems with the D 3 days this past week. Yesterday I had already taken a couple Immodium and it didn't help at all. Today the Immodium I took yesterday worked overtime so I have been in pain. It just goes from one to the other. I got some Slippery Elm yesterday to see if that will help. I think 4 or them 4 dimes a day is a bit much, though.

Yesterday my friend took me to breakfast for my BD at Mimi's Cafe. It was the first time I had ever been there and it was really good. I ordered crepes and halfway through realized I got the wrong one, so the waitress took it back and got the right one and the manager took the charge off. So I ate half of the new one tonight for dinner and will eat the rest tomorrow. Today I made mini-cupcakes and took them to church to celebrate. I am wanting to work on some cake decorating to see if I can get any good at it, but I can't eat it, so I will be taking it to church.

Okay I gave the Lara bars a try this week. Apple pie, Cherry pie, and cashew cookie, they are gluten free, dairy free, soy free, vegan and kosher, non-GMO. Made from 100 % real food, in it's simplest and most natural state, simple, pure, delicious, no added sugar per their packages. The ingredients on the packages just list different fruits, and nuts, and spices like cinnamon in the apple pie one.

But there must be something with the Lara bars! I just read on another team in here some other ladies saying that they bothered them too with stomach issues. This week is the first time I tried them, and each time I did I got heartburn that day, and the last day my stomach was really upset. I had really bad IBS-C&D Thursday morning before going to work. I had to keep running into the bathroom. Very unusual for me, especially from any foods. I usually only end up with it when I am stressing out about maybe losing a job, or dealing with some other bad issue like that, which hasn't happened since I got this new job about 1.5 yrs ago. Luckily it settled down right before I had to leave for work. I was thinking that maybe they were giving my heartburn but wasn't sure. And then thought that maybe they were what gave me the IBS-C& D, but also wasn't sure. later that day I found out I was going to have to stay at work really late and I was hungry and I still had the Cashew Cookie one with me so I ate it and right after got heart burn, even though I was feeling fine shortly after getting to work after having IBS issues before work.

I won't be eating them again. I have one more bar of them in the refrig, I think I will try to push it off on the kid without tell him that I had any issues with them and see how he handles it. I had tried just a half of their apple pie one the first day, Monday. The second day, Tueday, I finished the other half of it and a half of a cherry pie one. The next day, Wed, I just had the last half of the Cherry pie one. Thursday I ate a whole cashew cookie one. And each day I ended up with heart burn at work before I even got home to eat dinner, and I wasn't eating a lot of food before work or during work either.

I haven't tried too many bars like that previously because of the cost of them. But most of them didn't taste that good to me and were chalky texture. Like Cliff bars, I just don't care for them. I gave a bunch of them away to my sister years ago when I bought a big box of them from Cost-co. And just didn't care for their taste or texture.

I also picked up three different "Kind" bars when I bought the Lara bars. I tried two of them this week and they were good and no issues with them. I tried the first one on the way home from the store after a late day at work. It was tasted good but was a bit sticky and messy trying to eat it as it was crumbling apart as I was trying to eat it. It was their Pomegranate, blueberry pistachio + antioxidants bar. The second one I ate Friday was good and not a sticky mess. It was their Almonds & apricots in yogurt - Fruit & Nut bar. I have a Cranberry Almond + antioxidants with Macadamia nuts bar left to try today. It looks like it might be another sticky one.

I have had some "Fiber One" Bars before and they are good, but more of a processed thing with additives and preservatives and such so maybe not as healthy. But they are low in calorie and taste good.

I liked the fact that Lara bars and Kind bars were just fruit and nuts basically with out the additives and preservatives. But not liking the stomach issues and heart burn of Lara bars.

okay, I just opened my last "Kind" bar and it is sticky, crumbly and a little messy with pieces falling off. It does taste good, but makes my fingers sticky just trying to eat it. So would have to stop working on paper work while eating it at work and then wash my hands after eating it before going back to doing paper work. But really tastes good. Calories on this one is 190, protein is only 4g, and sugar is 11 g. The other two Kind bars I tried had similar calories, protein and sugar.

I will keep my eyes out for Quest and other types of bars next time I go shopping. As someone on another team in here posted that Quest Bars are good and healthier. And didn't bother her stomach as the Lara bars did.

I hope you are all doing better asap. I am doing a lot better since Thursday, no more IBS issues. And luckily I have the whole weekend off from work, WooHoo! Take care everyone. Janette

Linda, I hope your IBS has settled down.

Today I have been having a problem with D. I think because of stress this time. I was trying to pay my bills and there is no way I can get them. I have also been waiting for my tax rebate, the first payment of which should have been today. They have sent me no information on whether they have approved it or need more information or anything. I tried calling and it says you have to wait at least 12 weeks to find out the status. You can't even get the application in time for that to be now. I turned it in around the middle of January and they have someone there that goes through it with you to make sure everything is there. Then the indication when you call is you have to go online to find out anything and you have to have a letter with an authorization code to get on line. So you have to ask for that and then it is at least 10 days longer to get it. It seems like they are just avoiding paying it now.

I got things mixed up for the exercise schedule I was trying to make. The Silver Sneakers Classics was on Monday and I thought Tuesday. So I went to a Line Dance class instead, but it was advanced (not told in Rec Center schedule), so I couldn't keep up. Went to use the bike and machines after that. Today I'm taking a rest day. Thursday is a beginner Line Dance class that I will try, which means no Silver Sneakers this week. Friday will do the bike and machines again. Then will try to keep that schedule next week, adding the Silver Sneakers on Monday. Hope I can keep up with that. I might not do very long at some of them, or use all the machines every time. But I will try.

I have gone to the gym the past couple of days. I always enjoy working out. Yesterday and today I have been hit with D. I am so tired of taking IBS over the counter drugs. It is so expensive and also hate just taking OTC meds plus my prescription drugs. Just hate having IBS. I am due for a colonoscopy sometime this year. Things have been so hectic that I know that I cannot schedule it right away.

Darlene - hope that your stomach feels better. You are doing great with the equipment at the gym.

I have been doing okay. I had a protein shake this afternoon for lunch and I think because it was so cold it bothered my stomach. It hurt when I was drinking it, anyway, and I don't know why else it would hurt. But it is okay now.

I have been to the gym 3 days now. The biking and weights on Wednesday, yesterday to a Senior Sneakers Classic exercise class, and today biking and weights again. Tomorrow they are only open until 11:00 or so, so I don't think I will be doing anything then. It is supposed to snow or rain tomorrow, so anything would be inside. I wasn't too sore after Wednesday, but that class on Thursday had me sore enough that I could barely move. I soaked in epsom salt last night. I will probably have to do that again tonight. I wasn't able to stay on the bike very long, but I added one more weight machine after I figured out what it was. Still not too sure about some of the others.

Fancy, I talked to a nurse at school today. She wasn't sure what it would be either. She and her family like them. However, she said she'd check the label again to see what might be in them that could cause problems for me. Thanks for the input anyway.

Linda, I'm glad you are feeling better.

I didn't have problems from last night. thank goodness. I did have to get up early this morning, but it wasn't any problems. I have leftover from last night and then another half spaghetti squash to make more spaghetti, so will probably have that for at least 3 more meals, maybe 4. I get the smallest of those that I can find, but they just wind up too much for me to eat.

I went to the gym today and rode the bike, then did weight machines. Did a little shopping afterwards. I got some epsom salts to take care of any soreness I might get doing some of the gym and recreation center events coming up.

I have felt pretty well today. I am eating lighter today and hoping that helps. Tomorrow we are celebrating my hubby's birthday. Neither of us need sweets but I would think he may get a cupcake.

Perry, I have had the Luna Bars, but I don't know what is in them that might be causing the problems. I can't eat much of anything like that because there are always too many carbs in them.

Sorry about your "D" Linda. Hope you are feeling better now.

I have been doing okay the last couple days. Ate a bit too much today, so I might be in trouble soon. Hope not.

We're getting rain. Something we badly need.

I had a terrible case of D last night. I really was feeling nauseated and terrible. I had not used Digestive Advantage in awhile. I tried it today and was so much better. The gas was also gone. I do not know if it was a fluke or not. But so glad that I felt better today.

I have not eaten Luna Bars. I have been eating more yogurt. I went for some time not eating it. I am hoping that my return to yogurt may help me with some of my IBS symptoms.

Has anyone tried the Luna Bars for Women? I have IBS-C. I used to eat the Luna Bars for breakfast every morning, but started suspecting they were not "agreeing" with me. I reintroduced them about 2 years ago, and I started getting sick again, so I stopped eating them again. Still not sure they were the root of my problem, I tried them again yesterday and this morning. Then, late this morning, I started feeling "urpy" again. At first I couldn't understand why I was feeling that way. Then it dawned on me that I had two of those bars again. That's all it took. They're gluten-free (at least the ones I had were), so it's not that. Any idea what might be in those that might be making me sick to my stomach?

I made it to the class today, but ended up missing about half of it, unfortunately. Guess I'll have to look up and see if he has it again at one of the other stores. The guy teaching is a chiropractor who has studied kinesthetics (sp?) and something that studies the causes of the problems deeper than just where it is, like if you are having problems with your liver it is usually caused by a gut problem. He said a lot of the problems with the gut can be traced to something like antibiotics taken at some time in your life that have killed off the bacteria that is supposed to be in your gut and that something like fungus then invaded so that the bacteria can't get back in there even with prebiotics and probiotics. I know I am probably not saying that quite right, especially when most of that was when I had to leave the room and I was picking it up from the questions and answers portion. Anyway, it is necessary to get rid of the fungus or whatever is actually causing that problem first, then get help from the probiotics or food that will help with that. I don't know how to find out anything about if I have anything like that because I can only afford to go to the county health doctors. My PCP is good, but the GI ones are bad.

I also was one who had problems with the Activia. Not sure what is in it that got to me. I can usually manage any of the other yogurt, I think. Unless it has too much sugar in it and most of the fruit flavored has sugar. I am not very much a yogurt fan without it being fruited or maple.

That is good you figured yours out. Sometimes it can be a little hard to figure out what is causing issues and take time, and sometimes it can be multiple issues and things.

Mine started with stress from an old job, and stress is my major trigger for me. But some food items can stir up issues again for me.

My trouble first started when I decided Greek yogurt was better than Activa and it had more protein. I ate it for 6 weeks and that's when I had my stomach issues. I have been journalling my food since then and only had relief when taking the Jamieson probiotics.

Great! I have tried a couple of different probiotic tablets and didn't seem to notice any issues with taking them. I didn't notice any great benefits either though, and since they are expensive I don't take them regularly. I have also tried some yogurt drinks that said Probiotics on them, and liked the taste of them and didn't have any issues with taking them, but again didn't notice any great benefits either. So I don't take them regular either.

Now the Activia seemed to bother my stomach a lot when I ate it. And at first I didn't put two and two together, as it is suppose to be health for you. But then I talked to relatives and friends and found out that a lot of them where having the same issues with it. So I just stopped eating it and switched back to other yogurts and don't have that issue with any others. But before stopping the activa, decided to eat it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach to see if it was really it causing the issue and it was. I got cramping and other IBS-C issues with it. Stomach feeling off and knotting up a bit after eating it.

Some people have had the same issues with some different probiotic pills I have heard. So people with IBS issues anyways might need to try different brands of probiotics or forms before finding something that doesn't bother them. And different people can have different results from different ones too.

I was told I had IBS around Christmastime. I had been suffering for almost a year before seeing the doctor. He mumbled something about 'was I taking probiotocs' and Imfeplied I was taking 2 Activia yogurt a day and he didn't reply to that. I spoke to a friend over a month ago,and she told me that she takes probiotic supplements. I decided to try Jamieson probiotics and haven't regretted it at all. I can now make arrangements to leave the house in the afternoons confidently. Saw the doctor this week and told him what I was taking and if I should quit taking them as I felt better and he told me to continue as they are good for me.

Linda, I am sorry the D and G hit you. My doctor told me a couple moves to do to help get rid of the gas, but I can only remember one. That is to pull your knees up to your chest. Then can turn from side to side while in that position, so do it on the right, back and left. I am going to send a message and see what the others were. Whenever I have to take something for D I get the G really bad and usually end up having to take the gas relief times 3 and a few hours later the same again.

Yesterday I was trying to get to the gym to work on the bike and maybe do strength training. Didn't make it. The bike is what my doctor wants me to do 4 times a week, but I can't make it if my IBS keeps me from going there. I was doing fine, then all of a sudden that hits. So tired of that.

Today I went to a program on gluten free living. That guy was pretty good at explaining it. He also prefers a lower carb diet, which I keep trying to get into and failing at. Anyway, I keep trying. After that class they had a gluten free sampling thing throughout the store and I tried several things and bought a few. Outside the front door they had pizza with gluten free crust. It has supposedly won an award for gluten free pizza and it was good. Unfortunately, the crust was made with a rice flour that is high carb. Tomorrow there is a program on digestive health, so I am going to try to go there. My dog is having problems, though, so I might not be able to go. If not I will try to find out when there is one at another store.

Today I have developed a bit of D. Actually, the gas is killing me. Everyday now I am so miserable. I have some gas pills but think I need something stronger.

I hope that everyone is having a good weekend.

I hope everyone is feeling better asap. I am doing well with the IBS still.

It has been another really long week for me, so I am tired and dragging today. We have rain supposedly coming again this weekend too. I think I am just going to take it easy this weekend and rest up for another new long week.

Luckily my weight is back down this week after going up last week a bit.

Take care everyone, Janette

I got hit with the IBS yesterday and it continued for some time today, which was a bad one since I wasn't home. Had a doctor's appointment. So had 2 immodium today to get rid of that. Then had to take the antigas because the immodium also causes that. I made egg salad last night and had a very little of that, so thought maybe that caused the problem. Then realized that I had trouble with ham sandwiches and banana sandwiches, too, so I am thinking it is the mayonnaise. The ONLY mayonnaise I can find there with no soy oil in it. Best Foods used to have no soy in the canola oil one, but it now lists soy in it, too. Don't know if I could do one of those others or not. The one I've been getting is vegan, but I didn't realize that when I started eating it.

I had HBP today at the doctor's that was going down when she rechecked it. Also a very low heart rate (47). I am wondering now if it was so slow because my BP was high. I know it speeds up when my BP is low. I haven't been able to find my cuff, so have been taking my BP when I am at the store. It sends the results to my email as well as giving them to me right away and there is a page where I can get the history, so I printed that off for the doctor. I had written that it kept going low (It goes really low, like 68/50 the other day) and also had asked if she could do my prescription early so that I could pick it up when I was there today. So she lowered it and sent it in Sunday (yep, she will work 7 days a week at times, but this time she had taken a day off). The pharmacy just kept it downtown, but notified me it was ready, so I called and had it sent to the clinic. They have been taking out parking at the hospital, so the only place to park is the covered garage, which my truck won't fit in. They didn't have enough outside parking in the first place, now have cut that next to the hospital where the handicapped parking is in half and changed the one across the street that was the ER parking and a bigger lot to employees only. So really the only place I can park the truck is on the street and get a ticket since they are always running late, or a couple blocks away. Really great when the IBS acts up.

Well, this evening I was hit with a bad bout of D. Still sick and taking Imodium - nothing helping. I guess I will just have to wait it out.

I think a lot of the stuff we do like walking and running don't help so much with the tummy as maybe doing crunches, planks, and waist twisting stuff. Zumba type dancing might help more that walking and running and just cutting back on calories.

Darlene - I know what you mean about the sizes and not fitting into them like you did at once. I have been exercising a lot and that has really helped me in the hips and thighs. The waist I have to keep working on. Still too big. Plus, I am gassy most of the time and that doesn't help. Big belly bulge.

That I am sure of. There were some things I could wear (back when I was small) in size 10 when I normally wore a 12. In fact, I think I was mostly wearing 14 when I got the one dress. Or like my jeans. I'm wearing the 18 Wranglers now, but I can't get into the 20 Lees and fasten them even though they have an elastic waist. It's just frustrating that I weigh less now than I did when I was wearing them before and now I can't wear them.

It just depends on the store and manufacture. Some are making larger size clothes with label in a smaller size to get us to feel happy about fitting in to them. Others are making the clothes smaller and with bigger size label. Different countries have different sizing too. I use to work in the clothing field long ago and was told this.

I think that my stomach just keeps getting bigger even when I am losing weight (though I have been stuck around 200 for two years. I keep getting told that the sizes have been made so different now (like size 10 is plus size now), but it doesn't seem that way to me. Having the same size at 200 as 240 just doesn't fit that scenario.

The smaller meals do seem to be helping me. I had a problem today, but it was my fault and not from overeating. I have also been drinking water almost exclusively. I had a coffee at church (needed to wake up after losing that hour sleep plus the half hour that I woke up earlier). I have also been drinking more water, though maybe the tea I drank before was keeping my plain water lower.

I only want to lose 8 to 10 pounds more. My belly is my biggest problem area. I go to the gym and do some strength exercises there. I believe I will never lose as many inches as I would like in the abs.

Even when I lost the 30 lbs in 2013, my size didn't go down that much either. Maybe a size or two? I was wearing a lot of elastic wasted clothes and I just tightened the elastic up in it. But I had some regular waist clothes too, so I know I just went do a little. I was still able to wear the higher sized clothes with just putting a belt on, but was able to get back into some of my smaller size clothes too. When I put the weight back on I just added a little more elastic to the waist of most of my clothes so I could wear them again. And some I just put aside again until I fit back into them better.

I know some people that are about my height and size and say that they weight about the same as me, but say they are wearing a lot smaller size clothes than me. It could just be the places they are buying the clothes at and the manufactures. Not every manufacture or country has the same sizing as the USA.

I thought that the time change would have a bad effect on my day and how tired I would be during the day, today, but it didn't really affect me at all. Orzo wanted me up about 6:00, but he did let me sleep until about 6:45. So I was up in time to get ready for church.

We had a day a little cooler than we had last week, but not cold. It was really windy, though.

I haven't had as much trouble with my IBS this week, though I am still having D. Just not having to run for a change of clothes, thank goodness.

I have lost a few pounds, but cannot get my belly down. Anyone know of any tricks for that? It is at a point that I see all these people who say they weigh 180 something and wear a size 10, or 200 and wear at most a 14 and I just got barely under 200 and still wear a 22-24 or the same size I wore when I weighed 240 and it really frustrates me. My backside is also still too big to get in a smaller size. I can get into my 18 Wrangler Auras, but they are a stretch and stretch to larger than the 20s I have that I can't wear.

I went to the gym today. I was a little frustrated because an area of the gym is for women, next to the women's changing room. A man was in there by himself talking on his cellphone. He finally left when I showed up. It makes me irritable when I want to work out on my own and someone is in an area they are not supposed to be.

No D for a several days, however, gas is really causing me problems including belly bloat.

I have only been a couple states in the south. Had relatives in Florida for a while and we visited there, but just the northern half I guess. The farthest south was Englewood. I've been to northwest Arkansas, some in north Texas and Oklahoma. More midwest since most of my relatives lived there. Wish I could see the east.

We've had wind like crazy today and not so warm so I've been inside. I tried to start on a cocoon for a baby and got it going pretty well, then noticed I was at the width of it and there was no way a baby could fit in it. So I have now pulled it out and am starting over with a larger hook (I tend to do things tight). So now I am down to the 2nd row instead of the 11th row.

I am trying eating more and smaller meals. Hasn't helped to much so far, but maybe I am still having problems with the pudding I had the other night (no sugar, no fat, but had banana in it). Guess I'll see.

Janette, I hope you were able to get your roof fixed.

I noticed the other day that some of my shingles are coming loose or at least sticking up. There was a hail storm here last summer and my roof was checked by two people and they found only very minor damage. So I don't know if it was from high winds or what.

Linda, that traveling sounds nice. I'm glad you aren't having problems with your IBS, too. What areas have you been going? I'd like to be able to do a little traveling sometime, just to see areas I've never been. Hope you continue to enjoy it.

Today I am down 1.3 pounds since last Sunday when I last weighed myself before today. So doing good. My cold is almost gone and we are having another beautiful day. But more rain is supposedly on it's was tomorrow afternoon and on into the next week. I hope we can get the leak in our ceiling in the hallway fixed before the rain starts again. Or we will be needing to put a bucket under that light fixture again and not use our hall lights until it is fixed.

FancyQtr/Darlene: Glad to hear you are doing better too. I hope you continue to feeling better and better.

Take care, Janette

I am doing a lot better having got over the stomach flu. My gut still gets rather achy, but that is the norm for me.

We are warming up again here. There is one day next week that is supposed to drop back to the 40s, then back up again. I hope that I will feel well enough to go out and get some pictures and take Cassie for walks.

That type of weather sure doesn't help with the flu and colds. I am glad you finally have some time to rest. Hope the soup helps with your cold.

My stomach issues turned out to be something different than the Immodium and other things. I got home from the memorial yesterday and fell asleep for about 4 hours, did all my email and such, and went back to sleep until 6:00 this morning. Then the stomach problem hit me and got me up and in the bathroom for the next 4 hours without a break. Seems I had the stomach flu. My friend came over to feed Cassie and Orzo and let Cassie out. It took Cassie 10 minutes to decide she could leave me long enough to eat and go potty. She stayed by my side the whole time. Orzo stayed most of the time, but sometimes I scared him with the upchuck. My friend also brought me Jello, bananas, vitamin water, soup and ginger ale. I am eating very light and will keep that up for a while. I also have some apple sauce that I will eat. Hopefully, everything has straightened out for good, now (at least with the flu).

Darlene2017, you are welcome, all my best to you always.

FancyQTR/Darlene, I hope your stomach issues get better asap.

I have been fighting off a cold the kid passed to his dad and me. I have had a chest infection since Monday, and issues with my sinus since Tuesday. I had a busy work week too, with long hours. Every time I was suppose to get off early something came up and I had to stay late. Luckily I got today and this weekend off to get some rest. I went to bed before 8 PM last night and slept in this morning. I had split pea soup for dinner last night and will probably have it again tonight as we have a big batch of it in the refrig.

Today I finished a small weight loss goal I set for myself at the start of the year, so I set another small weight loss goal for myself today.

Our weather in Escondido, CA lately keeps going from nice and sunny or even really hot, to cold, damp, foggy, windy, wet and rainy. Bouncing back and forth from 50's in the day all the way over 100 in the day. And from 30's to 70's in the night and early morning. We are expecting a cold and wet weekend and new week.

The flu and other type of colds are going around really bad right now according to the local news.

Take care everyone, Janette

Your California storm hit us today. Here it is snow, though. It snowed all day and is only in the teens now. Quite a difference from yesterday, when I think it was 68. I drove up to northeast Colorado for a memorial service for a friend of mine this morning. I was so glad it didn't freeze on the streets until after we were home.

My gut has been hurting any time I eat, even if it is just a bowl of soup. I guess some of that is I have had to take Immodium several times recently, including today. I had a small piece of pie and a few cookies at lunch and they set off my IBS. I am going to try to stay away from that and see if it will help so that my gut stops hurting.

I hope you are feeling better asap Darlene. I am still a little off, trying to fight off the kids cold, but luckily I haven't came down with bronchitis yet. Just a little upset stomach on and off, sneezing on and off, head and body aches on and off.

All my best to you all.

I just talked to my cousin and he said it has been raining in Phoenix all day today. Said we will be getting it soon, or probably snow, but they aren't saying anything down here until Friday and then maybe a little rain. Meanwhile, we are getting fires in different places. So we are hoping for rain or snow sometime soon. Not that I want the cold and mud, but need it anyway.

I tried that Ezekiel bread. Now I am trying to find someone to give it to. It was hard and so heavy I couldn't stand it.

I was doing really good last week, but about Tuesday started getting "D" again. I think the trigger at first was some cough drops. I think they have a lot of sugar and that didn't help me any. Then I have had some Girl Scout Cookies. I have to stop eating them. When I first got diagnosed with diabetes I had them and ate 2 in maybe a day. Now if I start I just can't stop. Somehow I have to get this under control. I think I am going to delay my doctor's appointment and work to get under control before I go in for blood tests. Nothing is going to change except hopefully a little on my A1c between now and then.

Thanks Darlene! It has been cold, windy and rainy here again. The kid has been sick for over a week now, and I have been trying to fight off getting down bad with it myself.
