Yesterday I purchased a very small cutting mat. It's not self-healing, but I think it will be alright. I also bought several refills for my Tombo glue runners. I go through them like water.

Carrie, welcome to this "quiet" team. I guess we are all busy "slacking." I have a Cricut Expression, but never checked into the Gypsy and don't know much about them. I have had the Cricut since Christmas 2011, and still don't know how to use it very well, so I don't. However...just the day before yesterday I bought another cart for it. Crazy, isn't it? But that's what this team is all about--slacking and buying things we think we can't live without and then never get around to using them. I will have to say that I got a Xyron machine for Christmas and just used it the other day and wondered why I hadn't gotten one before. It is great. All of those glue sticks have caused me to have skin problems on my fingers.

Anyway, I hope you can find some help with that new Gypsy so you can do more with it than let it decorate your room.

I just got the gypsy for Christmas, I really wanted it and thought it was the perfect thing to add to my cricut obsession, but here it sits on the shelf and I have NO idea how to use it! But it is cute, pink and black with cute little flowers, so at least it sits on my shelf and makes the room look good! LOL

A couple of weeks ago, our JoAnns store started a remodel job of the store and was clearing out a lot of things. The had my favorite punches on a super, fantastic clearance so I bought just about every one that I have been wanting. What a steal!!

Bought another E-K punch today. I love that brand and how they work. I guess I'm trying to collect all of them. emoticon The drawer that I keep them in is getting pretty heavy to pull open.

Me too. Last day-after-Thanksgiving, Menards had a deal on the Cricut Expressions that I couldn't resist. I never really thought I would use one, but just couldn't help myself!! I still am not sure I really can use it much. It's packed back up in the box and put away. I don't think I like those sticky mats. They lose stickiness too soon.

I have a problem with them too, but today I sent to the local scrapbook specialty store looking for solutions for using my Copic markers. Bought some special paper, a high quality black ink pad and a new gizmo for dusting the paper before you stamp on it. Haven't tried it yet, but the shop owner says it really works. ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW TO GET YOU TO PART WITH YOUR MONEY!!!

Last week I bought a tool that has a tiny, sticky tip used to pick up little gem stones, etc. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but didn't realize it until I opened it and tried it out. The one I want I saw at Archivers at Christmastime and it didn't have the sticky stuff on it--you just pressed it down onto the tiny gem and it picked it up and held it until you placed it on the paper. But, I don't have an Archivers real close. I have to travel for about 45 min. to get there, so I don't go very often.

I just bought more Christmas stickers (during my holiday shopping) BUT, in my defense, it was 'After Christmas Sales' and I paid a fraction of the cost....so could NOT resist. emoticon

Yep, you fit right in with this team!!!! hahaha Wow, that's a lot of paper!! Last year I went into a scrapbook supply shop in Flatwoods, KY and even though it was kind of small, they had things that the stores I frequent around home never carried. I loved it and would love to go back, but will probably never get that way again. I was there for a funeral.

That is a real neat idea though about the "different" kind of bucket list. Love it.

I bought a Groupon $20 for $40 at Memories and Beyond in Downers Grove, IL. I have never been in a scrapping store that was 99% PAPERS. They had everything. I spent and additional $33. That means I had purchased $73 worth of paper. OMG. I couldn't help myself.

One thing they had were papers that are any tourist's dream. I want to go back and pick out all the places I would like to visit sometime in the future and put all the empty pages in a scrapbook and as DH and I visit them I would add the photos. A different kind of Bucket List.

There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. -Beverly Sills

Welcome to the team, Creece1! I hope you will get your Spark Page up and running so we can know more about you. I think I saw those LVille Slugger stickers too. The last thing I bought last week was MORE papers.

Four weeks ago I purchase some Louisville Slugger scrapbook stickers. I don't know if I will ever get to them beings I haven't completed the last three scrapbooks, 2 that are started and the third I haven't even begun.

I bought some stickers for making Christmas cards.

I think they sell the Smashbook items at Archivers.

I went to JoAnn's, Michael's and Roger's Hobby Center today. None of them has heard of the Smashbook....until now. I went to an office supply place and bought the supplies to make our own. Wish us LUCK!

Thanks so much for sharing this! I had not heard of a Smashbook. I just googled it and watched several youtube videos regarding them.
My family and I are going on vacation Saturday for a week. This sounds like a perfect idea to take with us! I am going to try to find one tomorrow at our local craft stores.
It looks like it could be fun!

I bought something like a Smashbook. I bought if for my family road trip to Colorado.
We ripped up pieces of newspaper, brochures and pictures to paste in there while we were on our travels. That way, we had something to look at as soon as we got home and didn't forget any of the details.
It had places for us to journal and that way we captured the spirit and emotion of the moment before it faded away...only for us to remember thru pics and then journal.
So much fun. I may never do a traditional scrapbook again!

I don't sew them, I use Aleene's Jewel It glue and apply it with the tip of a toothpick. It takes a while to dry, but I like the way it looks when it dries.

Do you sew the buttons onto the cards? OR glue/glue dot them?

Well, had a coupon and JoAnns had a Founder's Day sale, so I bought some more buttons (they were 50% off), got more 12x12 papers, (didn't really need them, but they were 5/$1), bought some 3-D embellishments (they were so pretty) and some sparkly poinsettia gems for Christmas cards. I have a gazillion buttons, and will never in a million years use them, but I never seem to have just the right color when I want to put them on a card.

I can't even remeber what I bought last, I think it was MORE papers, like I really needed them lol! But I am getting rid of some craft things at my garage sale this upcoming weekend so I feel somewhat better about myself for that haha.

Maybe that's part of my problem. I didn't know that there WAS a 'board.' I saw an article in a magazine that showed what they looked like and tried to copy them with pieces of paper I bought. The article said that you just wrap them around a pencil?. I'll have to check out my local craft stores and see if I can find a kit.

I guess it is worth it if you really like the end product. I do. I am fascinated with how you can take a little strip of paper and make a flower or an animal out of it. The trick now will be to get good at it so my items don't look like a beginner did it. I have make a few things, but just haven't had the time to play with it a lot. I also want to get the "super, deluxe" board too. I am only using the little one that came with the set. Guess I will ask for one at Christmas!

I tried quilling once but found it impossible! Did you really find it worth it? Maybe I should try it again now that I'm not giving up so easily on things......besides.....it would be something else scrapbook oriented that I purchased and didn't use! emoticon

I got a crimper several years ago and have only used it a couple of times. I forget about it. I also bought a beginners quilling kit a couple of months ago and have had very little time to practice it. I do hope to get more of it done though. It's really neat, but tedious.
