1. Grateful that my dead car only needed a simple repair, not the major one that we worried about.
2. When my car died just before leaving for my in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner, we thought we were going to have to miss going. They drove 2 hours to come get us and then drive us back home that night.
3. A happy event tomorrow in the life of someone I worked with a few years ago.
4. My husband's car now has headlights.
5. Grateful for a local mechanic who has been very helpful.
6. Hope.
7. My family.

Hi Lee! It's always great to see you on here:)
I just got on the computer for the first time today and haven't even spun the wheel yet. But I am grateful for my son taking me to breakfast this morning, and my other son came by for coffee first thing this morning.
Cini, I'm sorry to hear you have been having such a hard month. I will be praying it gets easier for you!
I'm always grateful to see you both on here too!
I am grateful for sparkpeople and all the friends I have made here:)
Have a good evening all, I better get to sparkin'!

Hi, Lee! Some days, this has been a hard challenge. There have been some hard days this month. I keep hoping that I can post that my husband has found a job, but its not happening and is pretty discouraging.

Just took my son back to college. I continue to marvel at how he has matured this first semester in college.
Looking forward to work this week. Even with the hard days, I still enjoy my job and my employer.
Looking forward to Thanksgiving and the Turkey Trot/Prediction Run and getting together with my husband's family. But, I have stuff to do before then.

Okay, confession time. Its been a hard challenge, but after a while its becoming easier to find the positives.

My newest win is to show up here and see all of the great posts from Cindi & Suz!! I love reading the great stuff that is going on in people's lives
#2 Mom made cabbage & potatoes for dinner. Very good and decent nutrition. Add the cornbread from scratch and the beets and Mom made a meal that made me feel like she was being health conscious. That I am very Thankful for.
#3 It made me feel good today to hear that my brother is feeling better. Our big sister "the best nurse in the world" went over and helped him deal with some food & diet adjustments. It is a relief.
#4 Had a brief talk with my cousin who has been going thru some bad stuff. I shared some positivity stuff with her, and encouraged her to see a pro awhile ago. She sounds much better and was calling to invite me over for a couple of gatherings in December. I will look forward to those visits.
#5 I really appreciate being able to take the week off and just spend some time relaxing. My Mom & Dad aren't creating a lot of plans and I have kind of kept is secret that I am on vacation. I fill up my days just fine by myself!!

Life continues to be filled with great and wonderful things. I am thankful for such an abundance of blessings for all of the people in my world!!

Picked up my son today. Got some shopping done. Working on laundry (something I enjoy). Looking forward to a relaxing day tomorrow. Looking forward to maybe getting both a walk and run in tomorrow. Got my hair cut today. Needing to go to bed. Got my workout done tonight. Been keeping up my workouts on a mostly daily basis. That's all for tonight. I need to go to bed.

Oh, I hope you have a nice visit with your son and a lot of fun on the run! I didn't post gratitudes either, I have been sick, don't get me wrong, I'm still grateful, just not feeling up to sitting at the computer for very long:)
I don't even remember how many points I got today but I'm grateful I'm starting to feel a little better:)

This one is a little more doable and with today being my day off, there's more to post. I have to say that yesterday was a pretty rough day for me.

1. Did my run tonight. It is actually getting easier and with less painful.
2. While the day started out cold, it got better.
3. Good day shopping.
4. I always like my trips to get my son from college. One of these days he won't want to or won't be able to come home and I will miss these Friday trips.
5. I got gas for $3.06. Not as good as last week when I got gas for $3.01 and if I'd waited an hour to two, I would have gotten it for $3.04.
6. After a short relapse this week, I think I am getting my eating under control and the scale is going in the right direction.
7. I've been able to keep with my daily commitment to exercise, whether running, walking or DVDs (usually around midnight).
8. Got to fix a recipe for supper that I'd been eyeing. It turned out okay.
9. Proud of how well my college son is doing.
10. Proud of how well my younger son is doing.

I did it! Yesterday, doing 20 wouldn't have happened!

Got a 10 today.
win # 1 - there were a few of my colleagues who made it a point to contact me to find out how my Mom was doing. They knew that I was taking her for cataract surgery yesterday. What great folks!! I so appreciate their care and kindness.
#2 took DH to get his car worked on. The biggest issue was that the air in his tires was low. I am really thankful to have a mechanic who doesn't try to push work on the car that isn't really necessary.
#3 had a very nice supervisory session with a young social worker. She is doing very well in developing both in her professional and personal life. I am glad that I get to be a part of her development
#4 enjoyed dinner out with DH at our favorite mexican food hole in the wall. I really appreciated not having to come home and cook this evening.
#5 took Mom for her follow-up appt to the eye MD and all is well. I'm so glad I have been able to go along with her during this process!!
#6 enjoyed a good debrief with my colleague about an event she led for work last night. Things went really well and I am looking forward to being able to participate in the next one.
#7 got confirmation a location for an event at the end of the month. I can put invitations out now!! YAY!
#8 was able to get gasoline for less than 3.35 tonite. I'm glad I held out and was able to stop and do the fill up.
#9 figured out what to make for dinner at Mom's on Sunday! It will be something she enjoys and DH enjoys emoticon And it is going to be good too.
#10 committed and confirmed my participation in a professional conversation to be held tomorrow with other local black social workers. It is going to be interesting.

2 today. I had a win with regard to staff meeting today. I had a good agenda and we had a good meeting.
My second win was to make it to my positive psychology learning group this evening.

I am thankful that my Mom's eye surgery went well and she is all done with having her eyes worked on.

Okay, this isn't fair! I spun 20/4 pts!

We'll see how I do.

Hey Folks,

Happy November!! emoticon

So, here is my suggestion for the challenge:

Spin the wheel and what ever number you get you must use that number as a target for "thank you's" and "wins" for the day. For example, you spin a 10. You should be intentional during the day of having up to 10 wins and/or "thank you's."

Wins are anything good that has happened during that day that you had at least some small intentional impact on it happening.

Thank you's are any time you feel true gratitude or satisfaction about something, say or write "Thank you." You may also spend time meditating on thankfulness and gratitude, showing appreciation, etc.

It is all about "THANKS-GIVING" emoticon

Who is in??
