congrats for walking in the thunder !!

i still haven't gotten my burger yet so my no junk food streak is still going. the oasis wasn't open the day i wanted to get one. you will probably laugh but i'm 54 and never been in a bar, drank, took drugs or smoked. my dad was an alcoholic and was killed in a car wreck when i was 5 years old and that impacted my never doing those. so the oasis burger was a take out order my son brought home to me. he had been out with friends and someone was going to the oasis to meet others he hadn't seen. so he went and bragged how great the burgers were so he brought me home one the next week. after that whenever i wanted one he would call it in and stop by and get it. it was the 2nd best burger in t-town....... the best was in the old snackshop in dch !!!! too bad they kept (allegedy for legalities) raising the rent on them to run them out so they could have all the business to their greedy selves!!!!! those were the best burgers ever !!!! now the oasis gets the best burger in t-town.

since i've never been in there i can't tell you how it is. i too am allergic to smoke and to fragrances so i try to stay away from crowded places. some people feel they must drown themselves in fragrances instead of the proper way of spraying 2 mist and walk into it or rub some behind the ears and wrist. i have actually had to get out of checkout lines before when i couldn't breathe because of the drowners.

We walked 4 miles in one hour tonight. Inspired by the thunder my husband swears he didn't hear until it was right on top of us. We were 3.5 miles in when he says "wow the weather can really sneak up on you". He said that I must have super hearing. I said yes, to make up for the nearsightedness.

my neighbors and I have been talking about going to the Oasis. We drive past it all the time and say next time we'll stop. I too have heard the burgers are good but that it's a rough place and filled with cigarette smoke. If it's different let me know-hubby and I allergic to cigarette smoke.

Wow! 2 years is HUGE!!! Congrats! I could probably do sodas for that long, but definitely not junk food lol! That's really amazing! I had never heard of the oasis, so I had to look it up. It has really good reviews online. I'll have to check it out one day!

congrats bre!!! i had no doubt you would be accepted!!! whoo hoo and of course......ROLL TIDE !!

i made it through today with no junk food and if i make it through thursday.....i will be 2 years without a bite of junk food and also diet soda!!!!! then my hubby wants me to go back to all things in moderation. he wants to go out to eat pizza instead of only places i can get grilled chicken. it does become a hassle sometimes to find somewhere for me. sparks has taught us nothing is off limits and we can practice moderation. i don't plan on diet sodas again though, that was hard to break.
my hubby asked what junk food i want................ i want a hamburger from the oasis, the best burger in t-town!!! yummy !!!!

It's not fitness/health related, but I received a letter yesterday saying that I have been accepted to graduate school at the UA! Yay!
