I'm going for the Eyeliner even though it is in black. I think purple, blue, green makes the eye look softer (not so harsh). A woman at work puts hers on both upper and lower lids. She has beautiful light green eyes and the black liner makes her look hard. When she gets over heated and starts sweating the liner runs down (not pretty!) One day I will build up the nerve to say,
" Hey babe, on our mutual day off, let's go play makeup at Dillard's" ! I'm hoping she'll take me up on this. Her foundation and blush choice is perfect. Her lipstick colors are flattering. But, the way she applies her black liner hides her beautiful eyes. :-(

Hair mask didn't really work for me. Hair is limp and not shiny or glossy. Birchbox store opens on Friday on Soho. Looks amazing. We'll be going in next few weeks as DH wants to go to the Frye store

I definitely want to know about the hair mask !
I love wearing purple and medium to dark blues and greens eyeliner...I still use black/brown but I love switching it up during the week.
The Ruffian nail Polish is very thick & after putting it on, I decided I didn't like the color on me.
Soooo, back to red nails. :-)
I'm super happy with the results of the Marcelle New Age 8 in 1 Power Serum. I'm not sure what all is in this product but my face is lovin' it !

It's been a hard week. So I finally got to really look at my box.
Ruffan Nail polish in Relic - you know me like my metallic and this is nice and silvery
Laqa& co lube pencil menatour purple - I love this and have worn it every day!
Will let you know about the beauty protector hair mask - I am interested in seeing how this works. I have been using argan oil lately and am very happy.
can't wait to try Juice Beauty Stem cellular repair moisturizer
and not sure on the Skyn Iceland hydro cool firming eye gels - need to wait till I am fatigued for this one

Ooookkaaayyy......

Harvey Prince Hello Body Cream... I like the fragrance and I rubbed it onto my arms. Nice !!
Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint - Deep Bronze... I gave this to my daughter because I'm just not into wearing Bronzers.
Marcelle New Age 8 in 1 Power Serum... I actually liked how this went on and how it made the skin on my face feel. It says I will see results in just 1 week but I've only tried it once. :-o
Sumita Eyeliner... Gorgeous color blue ! Went on smooth and was easy to make a perfect thin line above my lash line. It is also easy to Smudge and Blend on your eyelid. Def like this !!

My free sample of Ruffian nail polish ( in Rosary ) that I chose is out of my normal chosen range of colors. I usually do not go for Metallics or Glitter nail polish but this Metallic color is really pretty. When I go back to have my Gel Nails refilled I will be bringing this with me for my Nail Tech to put on me.

Stupid "autocorrect"......
Antica Farmacista !
This body wash was said to have a Seaside Scent.... I didn't get that impression. Just smelled like soap to me. Lol

Cynthia Rowleys Lip Stain isn't really a lipstain, :-/
The color is called sugar. It's actually a light pink, not tooo shiny and more of a lip gloss.
I like it. My daughter has darker, fuller lips than mine and it looked very nice on her so I gave it to her. :-)

Egyptian Magic skin cream is nice. I put some on before applying my foundation & sunscreen before I went to work and was surprised by how light and smooth it felt. I said in my first post that it was like Vaseline but that's not right. It's more dense and hard. The sample is in a small, round plastic container so only one fingertip will fit to access the product. I like this stuff. :-)

Liz Earl Cleanse & Polish... I didn't follow the actual directions which was to use the small cloth that came with it. Instead, I used my Clarisonic to clean my face with it. My face felt smooth but I think it's because I could still feel the product on my face after I rinsed it off. It actually felt like I had just applied a light, skin smoothing moisturizer on my face. It worked quite well with the Egyptian Magic cream.

Miss Jessie's .... My youngest daughter has very thick, curly hair. I'm going to mail this sample to her to try because I think it will work better for her than me. Yes, I have very curly hair but my hair is fine. Ppl throughout my life have asked me where I get my hair permed.
That always cracks me up. Lol

Can't wait to hear what you got in your Box Suze !

Sounds like a great box. Yes, I watched the preview. I am hoping for the perfume sample! I had a miss Jessie's curls from something else and didn't like the smell and the feel but it worked great on my hair. However, our hair seems to be different so may not work for you

Let me know what you think of the Marcella BB Cream. If you like it, I hope I get some in a future Box. :-)
I didn't care so much for my Whish hand lotion (past Box) but I like this shaving cream by them
You'll probably like the purple lip balm/lipstick when you get it. :-)
I keep forgetting to try my black Cynthia Rowley with a Lid Primer.... :-0

I haven't tried the vitamins, they don't make sense to me. shampoo and conditioner really worked for me. I am enjoying the Marcella and will definitely buy some of the Rowley eyeliner. I would have loved purple lipstick!
And the nail polish from last month is working out really well

Okay... I'm finally sharing what I got in this months Box ! Lol

CoTZ Natural Skin To e SPF 40 - I would love this in a shade closer to my skin tone. This went on velvety smooth.
LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil (purple). When I first laid eyes on it, I was like, wth ??
No way am I wearing purple lipstick ! But, surprisingly I like it :-0
It really does glide on smoothly but I don't care for the minty fragrance. But I wear it :-)
Number 4 Volumizing Shampoo - uh nope ! My hair was so tangled after using this I had to put on my deep conditioner to be able to run a comb thru my hair. Disappointing.
Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream - love it for both legs & under arms.
Smarty Pants All-in-One Gummy Vit for Adults - meh. The directions say to chew 6/day. It didn't taste awful but it wasn't great.

I would say my favorite item in this box would be the CoTZ tinted sunscreen
I will probably order it on the future since it's 40 SPF.
Currently I've been using Physicians Formula tinted 50 SPF (which I'm happy with but I'll be spending less on the CoTZ using my BirchBox points)
:-)

My Box came in today but I haven't opened it yet !
When I got off work I went straight to one of our local Mexican restaurants and had dinner with a friend. After that, we went to Starbucks for a Frappacinno and talked until 10pm. It is now 11:30pm and I'm ready to hit the sheets.
So, I'll be opening my Box in the morning before I go to work

The Supergoop lives up to its name. Literally ! Very thick and not easy to spread with just my fingers. I ended up applying it as a concealer using my foundation brush. It was tricky and took a little longer to make it blend in well but the outcome was nice. But, I definitely won't be purchasing this in the future. Lol
Cynthia Rowley eyeliner pencil glided across my lash line like silk, very dark black. As for staying power....meh. I'm going to try it again but will apply my Lid Primer first and see if that keeps it looking fresh.
My daughter also rec'vd the same Fine Health Bar as we did. I'm guessing all Birchbox Members got one also. :-)

I liked the health bar and was going to order it for me and youngest ss's gf but it's out of stock. The body lotion smells awesome.
I'm with Pattie - colored and highlighted hair so I am going to see if the gf's want it.
It's a lot of fun getting it every month and the way I rationalized it was pretty much same as buying lunch one day a week which I don't.
Yes and I do the reviews too!

Ooookaaay.......

Suze & I both rec'vd the Kinds Healthy Grains Bar & Keims Cleanshine Energizing Shampoo.
Like I said earlier in my prior post, I'm not a Health Bar eater so I won't be buying that in the future. :-)
The Keims Shampoo......well, I require a hydrating/moisturing shampoo for my highlighted hair.
I think this shampoo prob works better for ppl who don't color/highlight their locks. I tried this in the shower this morning and although it lathered up really nice, after I rinsed it out, my hair felt very dry. :-(
Cynthia Rowley Black Eyeliner.... I put it on my upper lid along my lash line a little while ago. It glided on soooo smooth! Very dark black ! The jury is out for how well this stays put ( stay tuned for an update ).
Skin & Co. Roma...Truffle Therapy Serum. I will try this tonight before I go to bed and see how my face looks/feels in the morning ( stay tuned, lol )
Supergoop Daily Correct SPF 35 CC Cream - Light/Medium. I will test this out on Sunday since I'm not working that day. I don't want to waste my time on a work day morning in case I don't like it. I dabbed the color on my fingertip and it looks like a match for me. :-)

I would've like to have rec'vd the Anastasia Brow Gel....maybe in the future ?
I love wearing true red nail polish !
Most of the time (when I have my nails done) I choose French Tips.

My BirchBox arrived as I was leaving for work. It appears that Suze and I rec'v our Boxes at the same time. :-)
Also, we both got the same Nut Bar. Lol
I just finished flossing from eating part of it. Lmao
I'm not really big on so-called health bars but, it really wasn't that bad. :-)
I'll share with you all what I rec'vd in my Box when I get home from work tomorrow.

April box -
Full size Anastasia Brow gel - this is great 'cept Ijust bought brow stuff at Sephora. I like Anastasia brow stuff but I don't really have eyebrows!

Pat, I find Elf is a bargain and I use some of their things. I have been using Signature Club A moisturizer from HSN. It was a bargain and I love it! It is face cream in the bottom and eye cream in the top.

Never heard of birchbox. I use coconut oil for my face, works great! Just can't use it when I plan on being out in the sun all day. Then I use a Bath and Body Works Orange face moisturizer with spf. Urban decay makeup, Elf for makeup. My youngest daughter just started making her own lotions and I love them! I use that for my hands, elbow, feet, knees.

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.

And non birchbox - I did a Sephora - fragrance sampler, bare minerals spring set and my friend the beauty guru says argan oil so I got a starter set. Interested in the argan, she gave me a sample and it felt great
Pattie I am supposed to go to Soho next month with DH so will try and check it out

Pixie, I think you should use Suze. That would make me happy :-)
Okay....my March BirchBox

Beauty Protector
Protect & Detangle: locks in color & protects from heat damage
Spritz generously onto damp hair before styling.
My Opinion: my hair is fine so my first time I followed the directions of "generously". Not good!
My second time I just spritzed it all over but concentrated on my ends ( becuz they r fried ).
This worked better but I am not a fan of this product. So, I'm sticking w/my John Frieda (for now).

Coola
Tinted Matte Moisturizer w/SPF 30
Organic, sun protection that evens tone & masks flaws
Smooth on a thin layer onto clean skin ( umm, duh ). Lol
My Opinion: went on velvety smooth but that feeling only lasted about 15 min. This Does Not provide an even tone or mask flaws. I've never heard of Coola but I wouldn't waste my money on this tinted moisturizer. I've had better results from Cover Girl tinted moisturizer. :-o

Gilchrist & Soames
London Colle tigon Body Lotion
Fast absorbing, hydrator leaves skin silky smooth
Massage generously into skin, focusing on trouble zones ( knees & elbows )
My Opinion: not impressed...I'm sticking w/my Argon Magic that I got from TJ Maxx

Harvey Prince
Cherie Blossom fragrance spray
Mingles sparkling cherry blossom w/vanilla & musk
My Opinion: when I first smelled this, I thought I hated it. It has sat on my perfume shelf since I got it. Yesterday, I sprayed it on the back of my neck and headed out to work. I asked a handful of male co-workers to give me their opinion of it. Of course a couple of them just had to nuzzle my neck ( they are such corn dogs ). All but one liked it and said they wouldn't mind their gf/wife wearing this scent. My husband says it smells better on me than smelling it straight from the vial.

Tea Forté
Minteas sugar free Cocoa Mate flavored made with green tea & herbs
My Opinion: I really like them. They are not strong like standard mints with just a hint of cocoa
:-)

Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Cherry Tango Square w/almond chips
My Opinion: I am not a fan of chocolate & cherry together. This kind of reminded me of a non-gooey take on Queen Anne Chocolate covered Cherries.

But how would I choose who to say referred me, lol.

I am tempted. I'm just always slow to get on board. One of these days I WILL do it.

Looking forward to hearing what you got in your Birch Box!

New birchbox. I love the grapefruit tea by the way. Haven't used the skin transformer.
This month a nice eyeliner in a kind of teal, not a perfume which I kinda like, jergens - going to give to one of the kids. A sunscreen and curly hair oil. Eyeliner looks good and comes with sharpener

Since I don't wear it much, I wouldn't know! I will on my toes come sandal season! I have a problem keeping nail polish of any kind to last, so I mostly don't wear it. Occasionally I treat myself to a manicure. I don't know the secret because everything I do wears it off quickly and chips. A manicure lasts only about 4 to 5 days for me.

My main complaint about sparkly nail polish is that its hard to get off. Of course, thats also a good thing..sparkly nail polish doesn't come off and chip as easily when I'm doing housework and exercise!

Sparkly nail polish is ok. A lady I know in ministry in her 60s was wearing a polish that changed colors with the light. Pretty!

Total cost is $10/mo.
That's it.

Linda, I have never experienced an allergic reaction to make-up or skin products but now you have me wondering if you could express that to Birchbox to see if they would cater your boxes to your needs. Hmmmmm.... I'll look at the site tomorrow and see if it says anything about that. If not, I send them an inquiry email.

You can sign up month to month for $10/month or
Pay for a full yr ( like I did ) for $110

Later tonight after work I'm going to look for my cards that show what was sent in each of my boxes since Aug. and I plan on sharing what I have rec'vd in this post.

I'm really glad I joined Birchbox. For me, it was not a waste of my money even though I haven't liked " everything " in the boxes. But, I'm trying to look my best [ as I'm aging ] and use quality products on my face, body & hair.

January's Birchbox......

Fruit Pigmented Masacara .... Buy it full size $18
What: All natural, lash conditioning that thickens & lengthens w/real fruit pigments
How: Use 2 or more coats for extra volume & is ideal for sensitive eyes
My Opinion: love it. Smells nice and my lashes looked full, long & no clumping !!

Paula's Choice.... Buy it full size $36.95
What: 9% Salicylic acid spot corrector for everything from blackheads to wrinkles
How: At night, apply a thin layer to affected areas
My Opinion: I've only used it twice so the jury is still out on this.... :-)

Serge Normant Dry Conditioner.... Buy it full size $25
What: Hydrating mist that adds instant softness and shine to your hair
How: Spritz on from the middle to the ends of dry hair. Perfect follow-up to dry shampoo
My Opinion: I absolutely love this product !! I don't wash my hair everyday so on my 2nd and sometimes 3rd day, I spritz it on the lower half of my hair and it looks like it did after styling it on my shampoo day. My hair tends to frizz after sleeping on it and this spray conditioner truly does add shine, softness and smooths out my natural waves. I am definitely buying this when my sample runs out !

Whish, Three Wishes Body Butter....Buy it full size $24
What: Antioxidant rich hydrator that firms skin w/ organic seaweed
How: Smooth onto skin after showering
My Opinion: meh....saving my money. I prefer the body lotion I bought at TJ Max

Ahmad Tea London....Buy it full size $7
What: Buckingham Palace approved British Brand... Lol
How: Steep 3-5 min in near boiling water
My Opinion: I was given Mint and the other was Blackberry. I don't drink tea that tastes like a breathmint and I didn't care for the blackberry. :-0

Okay, so, what do you think ?

Okay...Jan. is my 6th box since I joined Birchbox.
So far it's been pretty good except for Decembers box. After reading other members reviews, I found that I was not alone in feeling let down and disappointed in last months box. A majority of us were looking forward (and expecting) to receive a "knockout" box considering it was christmastime and also the last box of the year. *sigh*...it was so "un-memorable" I cannot think of one thing right now that was in it.
I don't want to make this post long so, I'm going to end this here and start a new one telling you about my Jan. Box

Hahaha, when I saw the word cosmetique, the first thing that popped into my head was the book , " The Feminine Mystique " by Betty Friedan. Toooo funny !
I also read her autobiography which I liked better than her book.

I just rec'vd my first Birchbox in the mail this week. I think I'm going to enjoy this subscription.
Anyone else on here subscribe to Birchbox or any other beauty box subscriptions?
