Thanks to everyone...I did find a great pair of running shoes and am now running with without fear (or at least with less fear) of slipping on an icy patch and falling in an undignified pile on the running path.

Hey did you ever get a pair of running shoes? If you are still looking let me know and I will ask my niece. She is a long distant runner and I recall her talking about a class saying just that, (that you need a different type of shoe for each running style) Let me know if you are and what your style is and I will find out for you!

Johnson's Shoes in Marquette specializes in Sports shoes and fitting them to your feet. Also if you have a problem with heel spurs, etc. they are very helpful.
Hope this helps you out. I have foot problems and they sure helped me.

I second that. Does Downwind Sports sell shoes? I'd try there too.

Hey there. Just wondering if there are any runners on the team near the Marquette area. I'm in desperate need of new running shoes and I'm hoping someone has a suggestion as to where to purchase a good pair. I could do Dunham's or MC Sports, but I'm really interested in a pair fitted to my feet and running style. Much appreciation and thank you in advance.
