BARB – Glad Jason was able to work at home today. Good to hear that mom had a good day yesterday and that you were able to get her straightened around quickly from the anxiety. Yup with what I would have said, definitely some editing. Yes, relieved with only 3 more classes, 2 chapters to read and the final. I will have a little more time to get some cleaning done here since most of it has gone on the sidelines while having 3 chapters a week to do. Yes, I am glad that the instructor has clued us in on the stuff on the final. She said she isn’t supposed to but she has in many different ways and a couple times straight out saying this is/isn’t on the exam. It is definitely gratifying to see Karma in action.

KELLY – Definitely have to love that Karma and audits. They sure weren’t thinking when they let Kevin go the way they did in January, that’s for sure. Yes, Profiler does sound like FBI that’s for sure. I hadn’t thought about that until you mentioned it. This program is a special program written for Jackson Hewitt for doing taxes and from what we were told has lots of stuff in the programming to protect the tax preparers and to insure properly prepared tax returns. The instructor said that the IRS really likes this profiler program. So good to hear about the good test/lab results. Sorry to hear that those extra pounds found their way to you. I am still working on getting the extra pounds off that I put on during the wedding and trip to Memphis. Of course the extreme heat during the summer didn’t help with trying to get the pounds off as it was too hot to walk outside and even at the gym. Good to hear that the CT has been pushed off until April. Congrats to you.

SHARON – It sounds like you have been busy as usual. I think the results of the audit should be quite interesting but don’t think they will admit that any of them are at fault for what is going on or any of the problems found during the audit. Oh definitely having fun watching them squirm. Maybe that is why I haven’t been able to get a different job as of yet, so I can be there to see them squirm during the audit. Yes, I’m glad to have the insight on the exam also.

SUNNY – How are things for you and DH? Hopefully all is well.

Well I probably shouldn’t have but didn’t feel like dealing with the BS at the office so I called in sick today. I had been thinking about doing it all week but decided if I was going to do it a 3 day weekend would be nice. Also since the auditors are still there they could squirm a little more not having me there to save their backsides.
As DH was leaving for work this morning he called back into the house to tell me to be careful. There was a helicopter circling the area and I guess it had been for several hours. DH talked to the news crews in our parking lot to find out what was going on. He found out that they were looking for a guy, in the creek separated the 2 parts of the apartment complex, who had forced his way into a house in this neighborhood and raped the woman in the home. The helicopter was still circling the area when I left for a while to run some errands and check the PO Box to see what we had for mail over the last few days as I don’t stop there every day. One of my stops was at the bank with the check I received the other day. It was from the student loan place refunding an overpayment on my student loan which I haven’t made a payment on since before we moved to Omaha due to it being on deferment with my having been sick, the move and DH heart attack. Now it cost $0.46 to mail this check, figure the cost of the envelope, paper the check was on, the ink to print it and the time for the people to process and mail this check that was for $0.02. When I got to the bank I told the teller I didn’t know if they had enough money to cash this big check. She looked at it and said she might have to check the cash in the safe. When I picked up the mail I had a box which happened to be the missing items from my order. I was glad to see that the stuff had finally arrived but was prepared to start a claim with the BBB if I hadn’t received some communication from the place about the order or if I hadn’t received the items.

While I was at home today I fixed one of my sweaters that started to unravel at the neckline, I worked on a pair of pants that I had started a while back that got put on hold and did my 2 assessments for the chapters we covered Tuesday night and started on the chapter for tomorrow as well as some laundry and a walk at the lake. When I got back from my walk I fixed supper and ate then started working on recording my food and exercise for today.

Well I guess I had better finish my chapter for tomorrow and get some sleep.

I hope everyone has a great day.
Thiry

Sharon we were posting about the same time...I will be a dittohead on Friday's lunacy, we love your blogs but fully understand sometimes even you need to decompress. And yes, if we could only bundle part of their energy, imagine what we could do. Although I think you tire them out too.

Is there a ghostwriter messing with our posts? Hasn't happened to me lately but hear it often enough.

Labs are great, even BP but Sunny I think some of those lbs you lost found their way here emoticon , up 12 stinkin of them in 7 months! Here I was blaming a critter in my closet for sewing the seams in again. As I started to say please no finger wag, he said I won't only because you are way too active and your labs are great. Your knee might appreciate some relief though. (True that) The other good news is, no CT until April!!! That's a 13 month span from the constant 3 months. I told him my wallet appreciates it too, I see an extra trip on the horizon.

Sharon: What the heck is going on w/posts! Wonder if Sparks is changing something again??

Glad you got your kitchen cleaned.

I can imagine you’re ready for down time after a week w/the little uns. Definitely energy sapping!

Can only shake my head and agree w/you about that congresswoman. **SIGH**

Give yourself a break if you need too from the Friday blog! Love ‘em but love you more!

Kelly: Gorgeous here, too. Loving it. Good luck w/your labs. And hope your CTs are spaced out even further! Fingers drossed for sure.

HUGS all around.

Oh Thiry, auditville and karma. Luvin' it.

There is light at the end of the school room tunnel hang in there. That's good you'll be paid for profiler classes, although when I see profiler all I think of is FBI and law enforcement heehee.

Happy to see Mom had another good day Barb. What did she request for her treat today?

Sharon, your Thursday blog was spot on!!! I knew you were otherwise occupied but sure missed you on Tuesday.

Marsha, I do not envy you with open enrollment, esp with medicare, I would say your clients are in very good hands with you. (not intended for that insurance logo) Deep breaths...

Sunny whatcha up to? How's Rich doing?

The nice weather continues here too. Almost too warm yesterday afternoon, wore long sleeves because sitting in cold buildings then having to listen to and rebut politicians and lawyers blow hot air all after walking through huge parking lots. Geez, could have used a double sumthin after all that but alas, passed on it all. Have labs today. Keep your fingers crossed he extends the CT scan another 3 months from the six he gave me. It has been nice to do not do it every 3 months.

Speaking of which, should get a mooove on so will wait til 5 for sumthin sumthin at the farmers market.

Hugs and Prayers all around.

Good Morning! Yet another quick drive-by as we are babysitting again today. My post from yesterday disappeared AGAIN! I typed a reply yesterday as it was our first day home since last Friday. I spent the entire morning workin in the litchen deep cleaning, the stove and the stove hood and fan. I hate that job, but do it twice a year.

Barb, glad to hear your mom had a good day yesterday, and nice that Jas has a work at home day today.

Thiry, hopefully it will come out in this audit how woefully inept the powers that be are where you work. At least you'll have some daily entertainment watching them squirm! Glad you got some insight into what will be on your final exam. We know what you'll be doing today.

Sunny hope your DH is feeling better and stronger. Hope things are doing well for you.

I too am looking forward to some relaxing this weekend, too. I'd be lying if I said I haven't enjoyed all the time with our little ones this past week, but I need to get some of their energy! emoticon

Kelly, hope you got some fun stuff on your social calendar this weekend.

Hope you all enjoy your Friday, and get to do something fun.

Marsha has been busier than me this week. Hope she gets a breather this weekend, too.

I hope all the hoopla over the death of the soldier stops. This congresswoman has lowered the bar even more tha I thiught possible! I hope the voters in FL will let her know this when it comes time for her reelection.

Friday Happy Hour will most likely be tonight rather than normal time. Will have to see how things play out with DIL today.

Lots of love. . .

Friday – Hurray! A work @ home day for Jason. Awesome.

Mom had a pretty good day yesterday. Underlying anxiety and I guess it’s probably frustration. But got her turned around quickly w/coloring (and a little “treat” @ lunch!)

I am looking forward to the weekend – relaxing.

The weather is gorgeous. Feels more like the end of August then the middle of October.

Here’s to a wonderful Friday.

For sure editing would happen! **SIGH**

Glad you only have 3 more classes. At least there’s a light @ the end of the tunnel.

That’s good that the instructor clued you in on what will and won’t be on the test. That helps.

Aha! Karma is indeed a B**ch! But imagine it’s kind of gratifying in a way to see it in action!

Our weather has been unusually good for October here as well Seems more like the last weeks of August vs. October. I know it’ll switch up, but in no hurry!

Sharon, Sunny, Kelly, Marsha: Hope it’s a good Friday! Marsha, hope things calm down a little for you!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

BARB – So good to hear that your visit with mom was a good one. Glad you are having good weather. To be totally honest I don’t think they have learned anything as the SA is a control freak so she isn’t going to be willing to admit that I might know more than she does about anything as that would mean she has to relinquish control over that thing. Oh yes many thoughts about the capabilities of the DOFS and many I don’t dare even try to write as I would be edited big time. Yes it is busy with class and work but I only have 3 more classes where I have to prepare as we take out final next Thursday. After that we have Profiler training which I found out tonight we will be getting paid while we are doing this training so that will be nice. I guess we will have to see what happens about the order but as of yet I haven’t received a call nor an email about the missing items. Tomorrow night if I don’t hear anything I will start my claim on the Better Business Bureau website. They will take notice then I’m sure.

KELLY – No falling asleep during class wouldn’t have been good so it was a good thing I managed to stay awake. The instructor did mention while we were talking after class that she noticed the one of the other students and I looked really tired. The instructor is really laid back which is a good thing. As we were going over our review problem tonight she was saying “this is on the test” or “this is not on the test”. She even told us that the final test is easier than the review that we just completed.

SHARON and SUNNY – Hope you both are having a good day and that all is well.

Well, can I say hello sweet karma!!! At work it is time for the annual audit for the Educare program (OELC and NECC will have their audits in the next few months) and the DOFS is having to deal with it for the first time by himself as in the past Kevin (the CEO they let go when the office moved) had done all the audit stuff. Needless to say I think the DOFS is probably saying the da… karma is a b.tch. The auditors are asking for information like what they have received in the past 2 years from Kevin and needless to say Dwight (DOFS) has no idea where Kevin got the information/reports to give to the auditors. Since he has no idea where Kevin got the information they are coming to me asking about the information and of course I have no idea what the auditors are asking for as I haven’t seen the papers they are showing Dwight and asking for this information.

So far this week we have been having good weather. It has been in the 70’s almost every day which has been nice for walking on Monday and yesterday. Today I went to the gym as it is closer to where I have to be for class so I have less rush hour traffic to deal with to get there. Well I need to complete my assessments from the classes we went over on Tuesday and work on getting ready for class on Saturday by reading that chapter.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Barb sitting here with a big smile on my face about Mom, here's to stringing more good days together.

That is great so got your glasses fixed Sharon. That cracked me up about hubby's glasses, he noticed that the women didn't notice. For sure I would have welcomed not fighting traffic going in too and dinner instead of traffic home. Those two cuties are going to expect to see you both next week too. That is a wonderful perk of being retired isn't it.

Yikes that would not have been good to sleep during class, maybe with the job stress and the walk did you in? Maybe on class nights, shorten the walk? You'll rock that exam and the season. Ditto on everything else that's been said by you and others. Admire you big time. Oh and hope they straighten out your order. Maddening isn't it.

It was into the 70's here too yesterday, nice enough for the crew to have dinner on the patio again with those crazy Mexicans. Cold night again and will spike almost to 80 today! Yikes, almost too warm. Sigh, I still don't think we will be treated to a lot of color this year.

Hugs and Prayers, see ya at 3!!!

Thursday – Had a good visit w/Mom. She ate a good lunch, was very pleasant and smiling! Did my heart happy.

Beautiful weather yesterday. Sunny, about 72 and windy. Got lots of outside chores done. The garden is put to bed for the winter. Sad duty!

Otherwise, got to relax a little last night and that was nice for a change.

Sharon: Oh no on the glasses, but glad you could get them repaired. Glasses are so expensive, I am happy they could replace the bow. Lots cheaper!

Yes, Mom had a good day yesterday. Thank goodness. And for sure I needed the rest.

Thiry: good job on forwarding the questions. Maybe lesson learned?? Who knows.

Well, hmmmm . . . . could say something about the DOFS but I imagine you’ve had MANY thoughts about the capabilities!

Glad you’re surviving your classes. Not easy working full time and taking classes.

Hope your phone call straightened out the order. Sheesh!

Good you got a walk in. That always helps.

Sunny and Marsha: Hope all is well.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

BARB – Sorry to hear that your mom is having more meltdowns lately. Good to hear that Jas isn’t going to be traveling for a while at least. Yes I felt the best thing to do with any questions on the shirt orders was to forward them to the person who worked up the order and since that wasn’t me I sent them to the SA. Definitely where they needed to be. Good to hear that you are feeling better today. Like Kelly said your body decided you needed some down time especially since you have been going strong for quite a long time. Hopefully things will calm down more for you. Good to hear that your mom had a good day today.

KELLY – Oh such good news that everyone in the Gulf are fine. What a relief for you and your family. Yes many tax laws and I’m sure that with this beginner class we are just scratching the surface. In following years, if I continue to do taxes the classes will be more in depth. Needless to say I have to bite my tongues quite often to keep from getting myself in trouble with the boss so I’m sure I can imagine some of your thoughts. I keep praying that I find something better soon also. For some reason God seems to want me at this place right now so I will do my best while I am there and keep praying that he decides it is time for me to move on. The lake is becoming quite beautiful with the changing colors. Of course there is still the green from the grass and evergreen trees. Then there are the trees that are turning yellow (the tree with the eagles nest), orange and deep red. I am just in awe of this nature and can’t wait to see how it increases as fall continues to progress. I’m afraid that you would be quite cold here as we have had the sliding glass door open in the living room and the window open in the bedroom lately and a couple nights it has gotten into the upper 30’s and lower 40’s. My kind of weather.

SHARON – It sounds like you are busy as always. Hopefully you were able to get some rest today after all your activities. I’m sure you and the grands had a fun filled day together.

SUNNY – Hopefully you are doing well and had a good day.

Busy as usual at work. Yesterday I spent a lot of time explaining how to get the deposits for the Title XX to balance with the spreadsheets I do each month. It is really funny to me that the DOFS can’t figure these out when the CEO that they fired managed to figure it out. Today I needed to a spreadsheet with information on the original claims for April and May along with the additional claims for when the SA and new state worker decided we could bill for the full day instead of just the wrap around. When the SA asked me to get this information for the auditors she said “we need information on that billing fiasco”. Another thing that the SA has messed up since she has been at the office.

Yesterday after work I headed to the gym for my hour on the treadmill then headed to class. My review assignment was turned in for her to grade and we will go over them tomorrow at class. I had a really hard time staying awake at class last night. I don’t know why I was so tired but I was. I did manage to get through class without falling asleep but it was difficult. Last night while in class we went over our schedule for the rest of the class periods. Next Thursday we take out final exam for class. After the final those that pass the class and decide to work for Jackson Hewitt will spend the next few weeks going through :Profiler Training” to prepare for the tax season.

Tonight I headed home, made a phone call about missing items from an order I placed on 10/2 and received 10/7. I sent an email regarding the missing items on 10/7 and again Monday. I still haven’t heard anything from the place about the missing items so called them today. I wasn’t able to talk to anyone in customer service so the person I talked to in sales took a message. I told her the information and then said that if I didn’t hear from someone by Friday I would be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau. She pulled up the order information and said that their records show that everything was sent. I said that the packing slip also indicated that everything was sent but when I went through the box there were 2 items that weren’t in the box. I also told her that since I had paid for the order with my card I expected to receive everything that I paid for. She said she would send the information on to customer service. After I got off the phone I went for a walk at the lake. Needless to say since I had spent the time on the phone I didn’t have time to walk the large part of the lake so ended up walking a shorter route but at least I got a walk in. When I got home I fixed supper and I was able to eat part of my supper before heading to choir. When I got home I finished my supper. Tomorrow should be a busy day as I am still trying to get my Title XX calendars up to date as of last Friday. I have all but one of them done but the one not up to date is the one that has the most kids on Title XX.

Well that is about all from this neck of the woods.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Another late night drive-by ladies . . .

Barb, I agree with Kelly that your body was in desperate need of a time out. Glad to read you are feeling better today, and surely hope that your Mom has another good day today.

Well today was not a rest day. My glasses broke yesterday accidentally while I was reading to DGD. She went to put her head on my shoulder and we conked heads, and one of the bows on my glasses broke. So had to get them repaired today. Luckily found a little place online I didn’t know about who said they could fix ‘em in less than an hour, and for $70 at most! Figured we saved at least $100 or more! Plus same day service! Not brand new bow, but "recycled, and it is structurally sound. They painted it to match the other one. DH said not to worry. He had one break over a year ago, and they could not get a match, so they ordered the closest they could find, and he said no one even noticed or said anything - including the women in the office. So we had to make a beeline down there as we were set to baby-sit again tomorrow, but now that’s been changed to Friday noon time. Good - no having to get up before dawn and fight rush hour for an early morning app’t! So tomorrow will our rest day!

Kelly, am very glad to hear that everyone is safe! Sounds like a nice lunch at the lake. I saw that idea, too, but we didn’t do pumpkins yesterday. We kept them busy outside on their bikes and raking and playing in leaves. Got invited to stay for dinner when all was done. So a nice end to a very busy day!

Thiry, hope today is good for you at work, and good that you are managing to keep up with all the studying!

Chilly here, too. 38F this morning! Had to turn on the heat to take the chill off the house.

Well, getting tired so will finish my sparking, and head to bed.
Sorry I've not been here much. Love youse guys.

Barb, sometimes our bods just decide to take a time out. Happy to see you are feeling better today, here's to Mom having another good day today.

Chilly this morning, another sunny day and went to 70...heat wave!

Not much going on here either. Had lunch out at the dam and mindlessly ate more than I intended so right now even after a walk I am miserable. So having ice tea, really don't need the extra boost of caffeine either.

Hugs and Prayers, everyone have a great evening in case I don't check in later.

Wednesday – Feeling better today. Just had no energy yesterday. It was a lovely day, though! Sunny and nice.

Will see Mom later today. Checked with the nurse in the early morning and Mom had a good day. So I just decided since I wasn’t feeling well it would be better to stay home and I did.

That’s about all the news that’s fit to print from here for now.

Kelly: PHEW Glad all is safe.

Chilly here, too. 48 F this morning. BRRRrrrr.

Thanks, hoping today is better for Mom, too. **SIGH**

Sharon, Marsha, Thiry: Hope it’s a good Wednesday

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families, country and first responders! So many natural disasters!

Thankfully, very thankfully...everyone from the Gulf (Lake Pontchartrain actually) to Calyphornia are fine. Prayers were very much appreciated, thank you.

Wow Sharon, busy, busy, busy and glad all is well with you all. You are brave to even attempt pumpkin carving with them. Maybe just draw on them. Saw a cute idea with used up crayon bits, just put them on the pumpkin turn a hair dryer on high and let them melt. My feeling and giving you permission to consider it. There is nothing wrong with quiet and down time for the kiddo's. That was the hardest thing for our daughter in law to understand AND do. And yes she gets it from her Mom; yes I was a bad Nana because I let them entertain themselves either together or alone.

By the way, I can't wait to see the stockings!!! You know there will be more squeals of delight from them.

There are so many tax laws I'm surprised your head hasn't exploded Thiry. I won't even bring up your boss, I think my head and mouth would have me in so much trouble...I admire you so much and hope you find something that appreciates - you soon. At least you have the lake to decompress at times.

Hope all is fairly quiet on your front Barb.

Sunny hope you haven't overdone yourself the past few days.

Marsha, don't need to ask...know you are busy busy busy thinking of you.

Chill Chill Chilly morn here again. Colder than yesterday, temp today in the house was 65...wool sox sweat shirt and hot coffee still had to crank on the heat. Sunny today so think it'll be okay at 68 since I don't need to shower. Note to self, every winter I say I am putting a heater vent in that bathroom and don't because I'll wait til I paint it and replace the light bar over the vanity and so on and so on. The folks that did our son's house said they'd be interested in painting this one so I am going to grab them and just open up the wallet. Been here 14+ years, time to refresh.

Hugs and Prayers all over our Land. See you all for a mug o' sumthin later.

Tuesday – UGH! Not a good day at all for Mom She just had a huge meltdown. Wish I knew what was triggering it, but I know the disease is advancing and emotional instability is a part of it. I helped her w/lunch (and again, she didn’t have her apple martooni but her table mates did!) so I took it home for tomorrow. I helped her to bed so she could take a nap. I PRAY that helps.

At least Jas has no travels this week . . . Shhhh! Don’t want to say that too loud!

Cool but sunny day yesterday so enjoyed that for sure. Think today is supposed to be a repeat.

Thiry: Good job on forwarding those inquiries re: the shirt orders to the SA. Right where it belongs.

Hard to parcel out the time w/school and work! Good luck.

Sharon: Oh, THERE you are. Phew. Figured you were VERY busy! Good you’re prioritizing!

Hope you have a good Tuesday. HUGS

Sunny and Marsha: Know you two gals are busy too.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

Very quick drive-by. Our life has been a whirlwind these past several days, and tomorrow is a whole day of babysitting so got to run to get my beauty rest as we have to be there by 9:00 AM. It takes twice as long to get there during rush hour, so it will be an"up at the butt crack of dawn" kinda morning. Wanted you all to know I'm sorry I haven't posted, but I've basically been doing the minimum here since Friday.

Sat - We went to winery and spent day with BF.
Sun - Up early to take our little ones to local Harvest Fun Fair which is HUGE Fall themed fun filled activities and rides for kids yesterday, and spent the afternoon together. Absolutely bushed by the time we got home!
Today was supposed to be my rest and recoup day before tomorrow. Friend came over on surprise visit and we worked on Christmas stockings, went to lunch, and came back and did some more sewing. She left around 5 PM.
So as you can see, no recoup time - that will be Wednesday!!!!!
Hope I have the energy for tomorrow!!!! Lots of thoughts for activities to keep them busy - maybe pumpkin carving, Halloween crafts, playground, raking leaves . . .

Hope you gals are doing fine. Didn't even read before I posted cause it's late, and I need to get to bed! Lots of love!!!

BARB – Hope you had a good time at supper last night. Thank you. I think the class is going pretty well. I remember a lot of this stuff from when I took the class with H&R Block in the fall of 2008 to do taxes in 2009 for them. There are a few things that I don’t remember and a few that are new as I see one of out next classes with be on the “health Care” stuff.

KELLY – OH, you had me going with your horse riding post. I have seen that several times in the past and have had a good laugh reading it. Oh how I wish I could point out a lot of stuff to her. She wants control of everything going on in the office and is making it so difficult for everyone to be able to get their jobs done. I have noticed that when there is a meeting with her and the DOFS she does all the talking while he sits there and listens. She also orders and goes out to get his lunch or has it delivered almost every day. Can anyone say “brown nosing”??? I decided today that since I haven’t seen anything for the shirt orders that I wasn’t going to respond to the email questions about the orders. I promptly forwarded all the emails to her for her to respond. Yes, hubs is very lucky. I don’t know what he was thinking trying to open the radiator when the car was hot from driving about 7 miles from the gym to the store. Good to hear that your cousin is back home. Prayers that they don’t have to evacuate again. Prayers that their daughter remains safe and is able to go back home soon. Also, praying that your nephew wasn’t on the rig and that he is safe.

SHARON – I hope all is well for you and DH today.

SUNNY – Glad your DH had a good time with DS at the antique car show. I have found that it is best to clean and declutter when DH isn’t around also as he is always going through the stuff that I am planning to get rid of or asking me “what’s that” constantly as I am sorting. I too have gotten rid of stuff that DH wanted to keep and he hasn’t realized it.

Oh, when typing my last post I forgot to include that the SA worked up the shirt orders for both Educare and OELC last Friday. At one point she told me she wanted to discuss the orders before I left. When I completed what I was working on I went to her office. She handed me 2 stacks of printouts, one for Educare and one for OELC and told me that they needed to get sent in for processing. I told her that I usually just scan and email the order forms to Payless and they work up the order then we compare what they got with what I have. She looked at me and said that since we had such a mix-up with the last order we are doing this one differently. I wanted to tell her that in 3 years I have never had the problem that we had with the last order and probably wouldn’t have had a problem with that one if she would have let me do my job the way I have been doing it. I scanned the orders to my email and forwarded them to the representative at Payless. Needless to say when I was getting emails with questions about the orders today I promptly forwarded them to the SA. I was waiting for her to say something about my not answering the questions and I would have told her that since I didn’t work up the order I didn’t feel comfortable answering any of the questions. At one point I saw that a question about what blue and grey polos were wanted as there was more than one shade of each color. The SA wrote back with “let’s go for Pond Blue and Slate Grey” I double checked the order forms to see what colors we had placed on them as those are the shades we needed to be ordering. Luckily she was having them order the colors that were on the order form. If they hadn’t been the same I would have written an email suggesting that we use the shades of blue and grey that were on the order forms.

Yesterday was a beautiful weather day but I didn’t get a chance to enjoy it since I was so busy with my homework for class. I got my assessments (graded quizzes) all done for the chapters we have gone over, got my review problem done and ready to hand in tomorrow, and read the 2 chapters that we are going over tomorrow in class and completed the homework assignments for each chapter. So I am caught up with my assignments but I didn’t get anything else done (except some of the dishes when I felt the need to get up and move a bit) while getting all this done. DH wanted to spend some time together but I had the assignments that I needed to do. Today was also a sunny day so after work I headed straight home, changed clothes and walked at the lake. When I got home I fixed supper then sat down to get my ex-husbands pants done and ready to mail to him to get them out of the apartment.

It was a busy day as I spent a good portion of the day billing some of the families that lost their Title XX but they didn’t get billed for the month of September because of not getting the codes/groups changed when I should have. I’m still working on how to get that done at the appropriate time to prevent my having to do the individual billing for those families.

I hope everyone has a great day.
Thiry

Kelly: OMG! Prayers that your nephew was NOT on that oil rig!

Glad that cousin is back home but watchful (as I would surely be!) and that their DD is safe. So difficult!

Weather here yesterday ran the entire gament here too. Downpours then bright sunshine to dimming the lights before 4pm. In the 40's this morn, going maybe to 60 this afternoon but the sun is out so will take it.

I would say your Mom was tired, hope she slept well last night.

Will stop by later, didn't realize the time. Meanwhile, adding prayers to our Nation and those affected by disasters. One a positive note, my cousin is back home from their wildfire evacuation but are keeping an eye on the sky and staying packed. Their daughter is still evacuated but safe. Waiting to hear if my nephew was on that rig.

Monday – Mom was asleep when we went to see her yesterday, so we just felt it was best to let her sleep. She’d apparently been up all night. So, she dlearly needed the sleep.

It was cloudy, rainy, windy, UGLY yesterday. Till about 2 pm. Then the sun came out. Didn’t stay out long, but it was nice.

Back to the work-week routine. Jas will be in town all week! HURRAY! With that I’d better be quiet.

Onto Monday. Make it momentous.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country. And prayers for those affected by the wild fires (and those fighting them1) as well as those affected by the oil rig explosion. **SIGH** Just one thing after another!

HUGS ladies. Catchya later!

Sunday – Very rainy day yesterday. Continues today. I am glad the lawn was mowed yesterday!

Mom still having her moods right after lunch. A little better today.

Otherwise, really a quiet day. Maybe a little tired from the flu shot, but not feeling bad @ all. Thank goodness!

Going out to supper tonight. Looking forward to that!

Blessings.

Sunny: I do my very best de-cluttering when Jas is out of the house. Once when he was out of town, I actually ditched an old, old couch he had in his “bachelor pad” and when he got back in town, he didn’t even notice it was gone! LOLOLOL So . . . lesson learned. Ditch the stuff when he’s gone!

You were a busy beaver! Good job.

Wishing you and DH luck @ church today. Hope DH is feeling well.

Kelly: HOLY Horse shenanigans! At first . . . . I though OH NO! LOLOL Got me!

Thank . . . . the . . . . . travel . . . . gods, Jas is HOME now for the forseeable future. BUT I do NOT wanna say that too loudly, because I know end-of-the-year planning and planning for the new year is under way. So, just enjoying for the moment!

That is one of my favorite musicals . . . . South Pacific. Hope the local production was good! That and Singing in the Rain I have seen in local productions. Wonderful!

Well... I'm at the emergency room. Today was not a good day. I decided to go horseback riding, something I haven't done in a few years. It turned out to be a big mistake! I got on the horse and started out slow, but then we went a little faster before I knew it, we were going as fast as the horse could go. I couldn't take the pace and fell off, but caught my foot in the stirrup with the horse dragging me. It wouldn't stop. Thank goodness the manager at Toys-R-Us came out and unplugged the machine. How many of you actually read what I wrote? If you did, copy and paste for someone else to get a good laugh!

Sunny, don't run out of endorphins!!! And WOW Rich is doing so well, slow down you two we can't keep up with ya! What a great name for a car show. Oh, wanna come finish my closets? Or the garage? Or the ???? emoticon

Wish there was a way you could politely point out to your bosslady how much work you got done last week - all on your own. Snarky for sure so early in the morn. Good heavens...hubs is lucky he didn't get scalded. Even I know that you don't open that thing hot.

Looks like you are busier than evah Marsha! Yum homemade noodles.

Hope Mom is having a better weekend Barb. Is hubby able to stay away from the airport this week?

Sharon, what mischief are you up to, or should I ask what's cookin'???

A little church up the road is doing a special blessing of animals along with one for those who have crossed the bridge this afternoon. It is always fun to go to them, many of them come all dressed up for the occasion. Last night went to the local production of South Pacific, always amazes me what they can do with a little stage. We are so lucky to have so much talent that is willing to donate so much time to entertain us.

Will see you Lassies later, we are having beautiful weather again - hope it is the same there.

I am up and headed to the shower shortly. Church and SS this morning. I am teaching SS and I am ready. DH will be worship leader (reads the chosen scripture and leads the prayers). He had a good day out yesterday with our Son at the Tin Busters (antique car show).

I got lots done yesterday. I biked, walked, and cleaned out DH's closet. It is always a good thing to do when he is gone. hehehe I didn't get rid of anything but made a pile of clothes that he no longer wears and he looked at them then put then in a bag for the Salvation Army.

Take care and do have a very lovely day. I will see you all this afternoon.

Love you lots. Sunny

Cool week here, too. Rainy. Oh well. It’s Fall!

Good luck w/ your classes!

BARB – Sorry your mom was so agitated the other day. Hoping that she is doing better today. Yes, I am glad that things were a little calmer at work this week. Made it a nice week. The Wal-marts are closer to home than my regular work is as I drive 17 miles each way to work. The Gretna Wal-Mart is less than 4 miles from home (where DH works) so it would be the closest to get to on Saturdays when I don’t have to work my regular job although it is 18 miles from work so if I have to go there on a work day it would be a longer drive taking a little longer to get there each day. The 108th & Center (3rd choice) is 6.6 miles from home and 18 miles from work. Then there is the Papio store which is 12 miles from home but only 9 from work. So, I wouldn’t mind working the Papio store during the week and the Gretna store on the weekends but don’t think that will always be the case. No matter which ones I work at I can deduct my mileage from work to the Wal-Mart stores during the tax season when I file my taxes for 2018.

KELLY – Going to different spots won’t be too bad especially if I get the one closest to where I am traveling from like the Papio on weekdays when I leave work and would only have to drive 9 miles instead of 18 to either of the other ones. Then on the weekend the Gretna one that is less than 4 miles where the others are 12 or 7 miles. I would definitely like more time walking at the lake, but the weather just isn’t cooperating lately. What reason did that Nash Sparker have to turn you in??? I have never seen anything in any of your posts that I have read. Oh, an 18 wheeler spilling cattle, what a mess. Those poor cows also. Oh, the paperwork that goes along with an accident involving an 18 wheeler.

SHARON – Thank you, a calm week made for a lot of work getting done which helped as it cleared some things off my desk that have been there for a while. Yes, the class is keeping my hopping, but I guess it is getting me ready for the tax season which will have me hopping also but it is only for 3.5 months, so I will get through it. They were having trouble finding out exactly where the clog was since the office where we have tax class is in a building with many other businesses. The backup wasn’t discovered until about 5:30 Tuesday night and they finally got it cleared and flowing by noon Wednesday. Thankfully the businesses that are in the same area and weren’t stopped up didn’t have a problem without going to them to use the restroom Tuesday night during class.

SUNNY – Yes, I plan to work during the tax season doing taxes. I have had several people questioning how I am going to handle my fulltime job and then doing taxes during the tax season. I figure that the tax season is only 3.5 months, so I feel that I can get through that especially since for 4 years while still living in Norfolk I had worked for 50-60 hours a week at my regular job and then i worked 16-26 hour a week at my part time job every week. So, 3.5 months of doing taxes after my regular job won’t be that bad. Keep up the good work on the bike. Oh, DH and I need to clean out our closet again, but it isn’t going to happen at least for a while. Glad you were able to get your list of to do’s done. It sounds like you were busy today.
It has been rainy and cool most of the week. Thursday was a little warmer but I didn’t get to walk at the lake as I don’t come home on Tuesday/Thursday when I have class as the gym is closer to where I have to be. Friday was forecast to be in the 70’s earlier this week but that got changed to mid 50’s Wednesday or Thursday. It was cool and drizzly but not raining but didn’t feel like walking in the drizzle and cold. I also decided to get a massage instead as my neck and shoulders are so tight that it is a little painful to turn my head to the right. My neck is feeling better but still need a little more work to get it back to normal. I had DH put some pain relief cream on it twice today. When I left for class this morning it was clear but drizzly. When I left class it was so foggy that you couldn’t see more than about 7-8 blocks. I decided to go to the gym for a little while before coming home. On the way home I stopped at the store as DH needed some antifreeze for his car. As we were leaving the store he said he would be a little while before getting home as he had to put the antifreeze in the car as when he got to the store he tried to open the radiator and it blew all the liquid that was in there. Now even I know that you don’t open the radiator when the engine is hot. I don’t know what DH was thinking doing that. When I got home I put the few groceries away that we bought, switched laundry, fixes supper and ate before the game started tonight. I also got my notes and homework assignments organized so I have it all ready to look at while doing my review problem that is due Tuesday. I decided to do my Spark stuff quickly then get to work on my homework.

I hope everyone has a great day.
Thiry

Here it is 4pm and I am finally done with what I planned on doing today.

I biked, walked, did a load of laundry, ironed DH's dress shirt for Church tomorrow and a few other pieces. I don't mind ironing at all. After that, I finished my SS lesson (I am teaching tomorrow) and made the final notes I wanted to make. All in all, I think I am ready.

Had planned to have Sausage and Sour Kraut tonight but DH ate in town with our Son while they were at the Tin Busters (antique car show) so will warm up some Chili and maybe fix a grilled cheese to go with it.

Do have a Wonderful Sunday and I will see you all when we get home from Church.

Love you all, Sunny

Kelly: Glad all is back as it should be.

Apparently this recipe is something Al Capone himself tinkered with. Who knows. Just know DH likes it and I just eat a small amt. of it (lots of meat! And that is something I try not to eat too much of.)

Thanks! Some days I just wanna tear my hair out. I can only imagine how Mom feels.

OH my! Hope the lost cows are found. Lots of dairy farms around here and they (the cows) are just so pleasant.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm. Not sure what the libation is I’m bringing to Mom and Co. today. I think something chocolate again – that kinda day!

Morning, well this morning all is back in place, including the prompt to show past step 2 so I guess it took overnight to show up. Odd for sure.

Wow how lucky you all have a butcher near by, and one with an imagination! Al Capone, hilarious! And now I am hungry. For sure I'd be all over that Turducken too, a shop up the road from us in Tx made them. Guess we got spoiled because the frozen commercial ones are not as good.

I'm thinking I'll go ahead and get my shot too this week end. I thought when I went in for my shot I would check there first. The closest one listed for me is a neat store of many items beyond foodie stuff so I don't mind the trip over. Just need to only take a few bucks with me because you really want to spend $$$. Although it isn't too early to look for Christmas stocking gifts.

You're among friends and will pay your fine if the sparks tower objects. There is no other word for it.

I see some of you are slightly off the wall too. A Nash Sparker turned me in last week, so I am not stalking just happy to see some familiar faces.

It was sunny and just the right temp yesterday afternoon. Today it will be warmer then fall returns in a few days. There was a trucking mishap on a major feeder road near here yesterday early afternoon which could have been way worse if it had happened during the heavy fog. An 18 wheeler hauling cows overturned, spilling those startled little darlings into the road. Haven't heard the final report but they were able to round them up sadly lost a few.

Well, let me go decide if I want my basic breakfast or head on down the road and put the feed bag on. See all ya Lassies at 3, having a spiked Arnie. It is the weekend.

Kelly

Saturday – Flu shots. Feeling fine! The flu season has already started, and the immunzation’s immunity takes 2 weeks to kick in. So . . . rather not delay it, especially since I see Mom every day @ the memory care facility.

Otherwise, had odd chores to do yesterday. Wanted to get ‘em done as it is supposed to rain all day (started last night).

Enjoy Saturday!

Kelly: Hmmmm. . . . . I signed off around 8 pm, but didn’t have any problems @ that point, and signing in this morning, the page appears intact. Odd!

Sharon: FOUND THE CRANBERRY-HORSERADISH SAUCE yesterday in my local grocery store! Scored! I had made this Al Capone roast (local butcher makes it – it is beef tenderloin wrapped in mozzarella, butcher-made Italian sausage, genoa salami and all that is wrapped in pork loin. It is “netted” together – cook @ 325 for 30 min./lb.) I grabbed the cranberry-horseradish sauce to go along. O . . . M . . . G! It was so good. The butcher just made up that combination and it is just super juicy and tasty. He makes the best turducken @ the holidays! GOT MINE PRE-ORDERED already. HA -- not losing out on that one. He only takes so many orders for it as it takes awhile to make.

Your Friday the 13th blog had me in stitches. Thanks for the laughs!

Yes, it is hard when Mom gets so upset, but I know it’s not her, it’s the damned disease (SP can edit all they want, but it IS a damned disease!)

Glad you have a tame weekend.

Sunny: Hope you and Rich are doing well today!

Thiry, Marsha: Hope you have a good weekend.

Quick drive by...anyone else lose most of their front page tonight? The lower half was gone, a prompt to find something I don't remember what it said but clicking it didn't link to find previous posts, etc. So finally found a link to my spark page to get here.

Makes me smile to hear that Rich is doing well Sunny. I'd say you had an overload of endorphins on the bike then the closet!!! Take it easy tomorrow. Wow, hubs wants to tackle his now? I have started 6 days in a row to tackle mine, one big messy pile after another...

While I'm thinking about it Sharon, I mentioned to a friend your cranberry horseradish find, she said pork chops! They always had horseradish with their chops. Worth a try. Now to just scoot across town to get some. Oh and she liked your appetizer idea.

Thiry I hope you get one spot instead of being a floater during tax time! Glad you're able to get on out to the lake and getting some me time.

Hopefully tomorrow your Mom will have a better day. Got to be hard when you think she is "upset" with you. That's crazy about hubs travel woes. At least he made it home before midnight.

That's the unfortunate part of flying, plumbing problems and so few of them!

Got nothing exciting this weekend. So will check in later. Nitey Nite emoticon

Sharon: I am afraid if I’d had that chocolate martooni to drink I might not have stopped! Nah, not really, but anyhow didn’t drink it.

Holy smelly Batman! A backed up bathroom on a full 747 would be a real bad situation

What the heck is going with posts! GRRrrrr.

Sunny: Glad you tackled a closet. Always feels better to get organized.

Good health vibes to your DH!

Thanks Sharon for your concern. I know not to overdo.

It did feel good today but quit at 30 minutes.

This afternoon, I cleaned my closet. Ugh.... I have two huge bags ready for The Salvation Army. DH ask if I would help him clean his closet tomorrow. You bet!

Do have a marvelous weekend, team.

Happy Friday all!

Well, I posted something last night before bed, and it went POOF too!

Glad to read that Jas did made it home but what the heck?! I'd be writing a letter to the airline about that one for sure! Glad to read no commute today, and working from home. Sorry to read about your mom. I commend you for giving that chocolate martooni away, and not drinking it when you got home!

Kelly, glad your meeting went well, and hope it was productive. hope you have something fun on your docket for this weekend. Saturday market? Sunday brunch?

Sunny, glad to read that your DH is doing better and resting. Hope all went well with the rescheduling of his esophagus procedure. Take 'er easy on the exercise.

Thiry, glad your week has been relatively tame at work, but sounds like that class is keeping you hopping, and will during tax season, too!

I'm with Barb on the plumbing! That should have been called into the health dept. Bet it would have been fixed faster! Brought to mind our flight from Chicago to Seoul for job change, and halfway through the flight, the bathrooms in coach backed up and stopped working. That's 8 more hours with one bathroom for a 747 full of people! Needless to say, it was not a pleasant one for anyone concerned! The lines were all the way down the aisle. You had to "plan ahead" to go!

Enjoy your evening all!

Oh Barb, I do hope Mom is in better spirits today. Mercy....some days, we just can figure it out. Glad Jason finally made it home.

Thanks so much Thiry for your prayers. Sorry you didn't get to walk by the lake. It has been cold and damp here too. Are you going to work a part time job doing taxes? I am so behind and I apologize for that.

I am off to the sun room shortly and to my bike. I did bike yesterday but 15 minutes was all I could do. It is going to take some time so will had 5 more minutes to my time today and continue until I am back up to where I want to be.

Hugs to you all, Sunny

Friday – PHEW. Jas works from home today. Getting our flu shots. RELAXING today! Ready for it.

Will see Mom but hoping she’s better than yesterday. VERY very agitated and simply couldn’t get her calmed. Had to leave because I felt as if something about my presence was agitating her. I didn’t want to do that to her.

Cool, cloudy, breezy yesterday. Today, supposed to be slightly warmer, but with it comes rain which is to last thru Saturday. Oh well.

TGIF

Dang it! My post from yesterday poofed! Yes, Jas did make it home on Wednesday, but not exactly easily. He was to fly from NY to PA. The flight to PA, however, was delayed, so he would have missed that connection from PA to home. Sooooo . . . had to fly from NY to DC. Layover, then flight from DC to PA. And guess what. It was the flight from PA to home that he was originally booked for! Do you follow all this?? Me neither! Lord. He made it home finally around 9 pm on Wednesday night. VERY tired. Did go into the office yesterday, but working from home today.

Sharon: OMG! that appetizer sounds wonderful! Love brie cheese, and combined w/cranberry and horseradish . . . delish! Wow! You work so hard!! And the cranberry-horseradish combination WOULD be good w/shrimp!

LOVED your blog yesterday. Beautiful.

Kelly: Jas would have preferred to work from home on Thurs, AND today, but too much to do @ the office yesterday so he had to go in. Survived, though.

Yesterday was a chocolate martini. Mom didn’t want hers. **SIGH** She just had a bad day. BUT her tablemates sure “lapped it up!” LOL

Glad the meeting went well!

Sunny: glad DH is doing better and resting. I can only imagine he’s not happy about being on Plavix again, but . . . . right now, better than the alternatives!

Thiry: Glad your week has been relatively tame!

Well, hopefully those WalMarts aren’t too far from your home. That would be a bit of traveling to do all 3 stores!

YIKES on the plumbing. That’s awful, but glad that it’s all fixed now.

Good luck w/classes.

BARB – Good to hear that your mom is having pretty good days. So far my week at work has been pretty good and I have gotten a lot done but still have a lot to do to be totally caught up.

KELLY – It has been a busy week this week and the weekend will be busy also as I need to get caught up on some assessments for class, do the reading for next week and do the review return that is due on Tuesday.

SHARON – It sounds like you have had a busy and good time with the grands. The office has called in professional exterminators. They were at the office yesterday for the first time and are to be there once a month for at least a while into the future. This week hasn’t been too bad as the SA has been leaving me alone so I have gotten quite a bit done although the shirt orders haven’t been processed and they were due 9/29/17. I had an email today asking when the order would be in to which I replied that since I hadn’t even been allowed to work on them they haven’t been submitted so I had no idea when they would be in. Dinner with the former neighbors sounds like it was a good night.

SUNNY – so sorry to hear about your DH, I have been praying for him this week also even though I haven’t posted since Sunday evening. Glad you were able to get some rest even with all that was going on in your life. Sorry your DH treatment had to be cancelled due to the recent events. Glad your DH is now home from the hospital. Prayers that all goes well for both of you.

Well it has been a really busy week but I have been able to get quite a few things done. The SA has for the most part left me alone this week so I have gotten things done that I most likely wouldn’t have been able to if she had been bothering me as she usually does. She was out sick today so I had no interruptions from her at all today. I am hoping to get a lot done tomorrow so that hopefully next week I can get a few things caught up that have been on my desk for a while. The shirt order forms for both entities were due on 9/29/17 and the SA has had them in her office as “she needed to have them”. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow when they were delivered to us and they have not been processed as of yet. If she hadn’t involved herself in the situation I would have most likely had them submitted for processing last week and would have been expecting the delivery sometime next week or the week after.
Monday after work I went to the store to pick up prescriptions for DH and then planned on walking at the lake but it felt damp and was cool and windy so I decided that maybe it wouldn’t be a good idea to go in that weather. Tuesday and today I stopped at the gym for workouts before heading to class. Tuesday night’s class was quite interesting as both the restrooms were backed up so if we needed to use them we had to go to one of the businesses in the area. We also had interviews with the office manager for possibly working for the company nest year during the tax season. When I had my interview she asked if I wanted to work at the Gretna Wal-Mart. I told her that Cindy (who got me signed up for the classes) told me I couldn’t have her store. I was told that she would try to work me in there on the days that Cindy isn’t able to work and then add hours at the Papio Wal-Mart which is close to where my son lives. If I still need time that she can’t get me at those 2 stores she will work me into the 180th & Center Wal-Mart so I might be traveling around town to get my hours in during the tax season. They didn’t get the sewer lines opened until about noon yesterday. It wasn’t just the office where we had class but several of the adjoining businesses were also dealing with backups. Yesterday I came home and walked at the lake before heading to choir.

I may not get much of anything else done this weekend as I will have to get my review return done so until that is done and my assignments for next week are done I won’t have time to do much of anything else.

I hope everyone has a great day.
Thiry

He did sleep well and is actually down for a nap right now. This afternoon we ventured out to the drug store to get the Plavix. He is not happy about being on it again but it is recommended after a heart attack. ugh.

He did not call St. Louis today. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. I will see you all tomorrow.

Thanks Sharon, I think I bought something of theirs not long ago, it was something a Nash Sparker discovered. The jar was a keeper too? Anyway, there are a couple of stores in the area (closest is maybe 10 miles but I am in the area often). Shrimp sounds like a good suggestion too.

Will be taking my tamed Arnie with me, got to run a couple of errands so will check in later!

Mornin' ladies!

Draggin' tail this morning. Have dental app't at noon for cleaning.
I posted the recipe on the Hey Good Lookin' board.
The compote is a jarred product by Stonewall Kitchen. It is a national company out of Maine.
Here's a link to find a store that carries their products in your area. www.stonewallkitchen.com/wheretobuy
DH said he wanted to try it with Shrimp instead of regular cocktail sauce. I think it would be great.

Sunny, hope DH had a good night's sleep last night. Good thing you're on the mend so you can take good care of him!

Barb, hope today is a good one for your mom. Did Jas get home last night?

Kelly, glad you got out for some fun and frolicking last night.

Will catch y'all later. Have a good one!

Adding my welcome home and all the recuperative vibes to Rich! There isn't anything much better than chicken noodle soup. Unless of course you happen to have had dinner at Sharon's!
My tummy growled as I read your menu just now...that cranberry horseradish jam, is that a local product or did you whip that up too? Odd combo but somehow it made sense to me.

Sorry that his procedure will be delayed, I am still shaking my head over all that happened.

Hopefully Jas made it home at a decent hour last night and gets to work from home today (or would he prefer Friday?)

Hope your Mom has a good day today. Did she and her tablemates put in their orders for today? I just looked, we don't turn the clocks back until 5 Nov. I'm okay with that, times I wish they'd just do away with it.

Thiry, hope you are having some quality down time between classes, work and everything else in your path.

Marsha, is your farmers market still going?

Meeting last night was well attended and the Council folks that came got an earful to keep in mind. They purposely kept the Q and A to an hour with the panel staying to continue. I left to have a few laughs and dinner with the Wednesday night crew.

Hugs and Prayers, especially to California.

Oops, walked away without hitting post. See ya at 3!!!

Sunny, so very glad to read that your DH is home. Now the rest and healing can begin. Yay for the chicken soup!

Sorry to hear about Jas' trip home. Hope all goes well for him to get another flight home.

Dinner tonight was good. I did a chicken casserole my mom used to serve to company, but I "embellished" it a little. It came out super yummy. Served it with roasted broccoli. Experimented with a cute little appetizer that was super easy, too. Little Phyllo bites filled with triple cream brie, and topped with a Cranberry-Horseradish Jam. Dutch Apple Pie for dessert.

Sleep well gang, and sweet dreams!

Oh Sunny, so glad to hear Rick is home. That's awesome. It's not easy being on medications, but if they help. Just happy he's home! Recuperating. That's awesome.

What better recuperative food than chicken noodle soup!

Yes, Sharon, we are extremely blessed. The test for the blood clot today was negative so DH is now home and will continue to recover here. He has been on a Heparin drip for two days so doc feels since one test showed the possibility of a blood clot, perhaps the Heparin took care of it. We can only pray We are extremely grateful.

Unfortunately, because of this heart attack event, Rich now has to go on Plavix for another year. Ugh...

Enjoy your time with your former neighbors, Sharon.

Thanks for the bubble wrap, Kelly.

Barb, I sure do hope Jason makes it home tonight.

I baked a chicken on Sunday after Church so used the left overs to make a nice pot of Chicken Noodle soup. Yum....

Take care, team, and thanks so very much for your love and support.

Kelly: DEFINITELY the shorter days are difficult for Mom. It’s not just her . . . most of the residents are having difficulties with it. **SIGH**

Drive carefully!

Sharon: Yup . . . familiar w/the disappearing posts! ARGH!

Waiting to see when Jas will be home. His flight from Albany to Philly was delayed so he couldn’t make the connecting flight form Philly to home. So . . . . working things out right now. GAH!

Have a nice time w/your former neighbors!

Somehow, my late night post disappeared. ( Cue Star Trek music)

Barb, hope Jas has uneventful trip home. Hope today is better for mom.

Kelly, good luck at the meetings. What's with all the accidents on your side of town?

Sunny, I think you received a "blessing in disguise" so you could get DH to hospital before any damage could be done. For sure he is in the best place for him right now. I am with you in spirit as well, and prayers continue for you both. Glad you are able to sleep in spite of all of this. Don't understand the elevated levels though as I'm not schooled in those kinds of things.

Got to run. Having our previous neighbor over for dinner tonight. Got to round out my menu.
Have a good day all. emoticon

Sunny and Rick, hugs and fresh bubble wrap are on their way. We'll be there in spirit while he undergoes the rest of the tests. At least there were some "good" news and he's doing better. Sad that the other treatment has had to be cancelled.

I bet you were tired, take it easy. Deep breaths.

That is a quick trip, is that where the phrase in a NY minute comes from? Safe travels home.

Barb, do you think the earlier sunsets are messing with your Mom? Hard to believe how quick the sun goes down, like you said it's Wednesday already.

Sharon, have you recovered from the granddaughter yet? Yikes you sure kept her busy! Such fun memories you two always create for them.

Thiry and Marsha, hope all is going well.

Got to scoot, many many accidents all over this end of town and I need to get going if I'm going to be on time. See all you all at 3 for an Arnie. Then after the public meeting with the muckity muck politicians I will be requiring a real sumthin sumthin!!! Hugs

Wednesday – wow! Mid-week all ready. Rainy, dark day yesterday. Hoping a little sun today.

Jas did get to NY safe and sound. He’ll return tonight. That will be GOOD!

Mom was really sleepy yesterday. She hasn’t been sleeping well @ night, so that’s obviously a part of the problem.

Well, onward w/Wednesday.

Sunny: Oh no on the elevated troponin levels. So sorry to hear Rick had to have a heart cath. Thank heavens no new blockages and the stents that are in place are all right. Prayers that the nuclear med scan goes all right.

Glad that Rick is feeling a little better. That is a blessing.

Oh my gosh, so sorry that now the treatment for his esophagus has to be postponed. **SIGH** Just tooo much!

Take care of yourself. HUGS HUGS HUGS.

Sharon, Kelly, Thiry, Marsha: Catch up w/y’all later.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

Good Morning, team. Just too tired to check in last night and I know you understand.

The Troponin continued to elevate on each blood draw so he had a hard cath yesterday around noon. It showed no new blockage and no problems with the stents he had put in 4 years ago. They did a test for a blood clot in the lung (Ddimer) and it came back positive so he is having a Nuclear Medicine test today to rule out a blood clot in his lungs. He will have that test today as soon as the radioactive materials are received from Springfield today.

All in all, he is much better and breathing better so doc says the culprit that caused the "light heart attack" was a blood clot.

His treatment on his Barrett's Syndrome in St. Louis has been cancelled until he is released by the doctor here.

I will update you when I can. Thanks for your prayers as they are so appreciated. Surprisingly, I am doing wonderful and sleeping good which is a good thing.

Hugs, Sunny

Tuesday: Quiet Monday (shhhhh!) Mom had a pretty good day Almost hyperactive! Did get her settled by taking a walk and then coloring. It absorbed her thoughts and concentration.

Jas is off to Albany this morning. But the good news is, he’ll be back tomorrow night. Again, will seem weird w/o Mr. Spot.

Here’s to a terrific Tuesday.

Thiry: Hope it’s a good week for you!

Sharon: Breathe1 LOL Sounds like a wonderful time w/your DGD.

Marsha: Hope you’re doing all right and get those veggies rescued b4 the freeze!

Sunny: OMG! DH must have been struggling to admit it to you and not fight going to the hospital. Dear lord.

You and DH are definitely in my prayers. Prayers that the subsequent troponin levels aren’t elevated. **SIGH**

So sorry!

I think we’re back to purchasing bubble wrap by the pallets again! DANG!

Hugs ladies.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country. Enough of the disasters! Prayers for all those affected by the CA wildfires. So horrible.

Oh Sunny! I am sending up prayers as I type this. Glad you caught it, and he was able to get help. Take it easy, and believe all will be fine. I know it's scary whenever our ticker is concerned.

Thanks Sharon. I will start out slow.

Well, we had quiet the day yesterday. About 9:30 or so DH came into the bedroom where I was cleaning and told me he was having chest pains. Ugh... I said, "We need to go to the Hospital." and he didn't argue with me. Thanks be to God.

Long story short, he is in Intermediate Care. The first troponin level was elevated. They were going to do two more last night and if it went up again, it was a heart attack. We will know more today.

I am surprised I slept as well as I did but am thankful for the rest as I was exhausted. I got home around 9 and just got up. I am going to have come coffee and take a shower. I will try to post you later about all of the results.

Do keep him in your prayers. Thanks a million. Love you lots, Sunny

Quick drive by.

VERY busy week and weekend for us. Had DGD for sleepover yesterday. Picked her up at 11:15 AM, and took her back home around 3:00 PM today. We packed so much into that time. She once agian helped with dinner last night, we made homemade raisin bread together in my breadmaker which we used for french toast ( her requested breakfast for this morning). Then we finished painting her fairy house, and then decorated our fireplace mantle for Halloween. And in between we played card games, board games, did puzzles, and read stories. I told DH these Grandma playdays do me in, as we function at a toddler's pace, but I uld not trade one single second of it!

Barb, so very glad you and Jason had a good day today, along with your mom. Wishing safe travels for him this week, and calm seas for you while he's gone.

Kelly, glad to read your thumb is improving. Cloudy and rainy for the last 3 days, and HUMID! Time for that to be gone now!

Sunny, good to hear that you have been doing better. Sorry about the arthritis acting up. As far as the resumption of exercise, my BF who is a personal trainer and exercise specialist recommends beginning at 10 minutes, and then increasing by 2-3 minutes every week until you reach your desired time. Yes, it's incremental, but will allow your still healing body to safely adapt without any fear of overdoing.

Thiry, It would give me the willies to clean mouse droppings out. Profesionals shold have been called in. Glad you got some R& R in with the movie. Hope you have a good week at work.

Marsha, hope you are doing well.

Tomorrow I am planning on resting, and then on Wed our former neighbor is coming again for dinner.

Sleep tight and sweet dreams! emoticon

BARB – Good to hear that your mom has been doing better. Good to hear the Thyroid was the same. Good luck on the bone density stuff. Hopefully the suggestions will work for you and you can prevent needing that medication with all those side effects. Glad you and Jason had a good day today. Safe travels for him this week.

KELLY – Good to hear that your thumb is better. We didn’t get to see the harvest moon here as it was cloudy all last week. No gloves at the office so as soon as I finished cleaning out the drawers I went to the bathroom and washed my hands. The store bought Clorox wipe aren’t that hard on hands thankfully.

SHARON – What a fun time with the grands. Most kids are really excited when they get to se firetrucks and ambulances. Glad you had a great time and know that you were warn out from the full day.

SUNNY – Good to hear that you have been doing better. Sorry about the arthritis acting up. Good luck when you get back to the bike. I’m sure that you will feel a lot better getting back to the bike and that exercise, just don’t do too much too soon. Sorry about the comforter not being what you thought and not being able to return it. I wouldn’t be purchasing anything more from that site myself.

Well as usual it was busy for me. Friday after work I headed to the gym as it was still raining. It rained every day last week except Wednesday. After the gym I headed to the store to pick up a couple things I needed to make stuff for the pot luck at class on Saturday. When I got home I fixed supper, ate and started working on my assignment for class. After completing that I fixed the cheesecake for the pot luck. Saturday morning I put the vegie tray together to take to class also. After class I came home and studied for a while then about 5 I went for a walk at the lake. I took a different route as I was afraid that if I did the 5 mile walk it would get too dark before I got back. When I got back I finished fixing supper and DH and I sat down to watch the Nebraska game. Sunday we went to church, got gas in both cars, went to the movie “A Mountain Between Us” then home to study for class.

Today I was busy at work and feel that I got quite a bit done as I was basically left alone so was able to work on stuff that I needed and complete things that needed to be done. After work I headed to the store to pick up prescriptions for DH that I called in yesterday. I was going to go for a walk but I felt a little mist when leaving the store so decided it might be best not to be on a walk at the lake if it started raining especially since it was only about 60 degrees and windy today. After supper I took some time and cleaned the carpet by the sliding glass door and arranged things to bring the plants in off the balcony as it is supposed to get to the lower 40’s tonight. While I was dumping the collection container for the vacuum DH started bringing some plants in and just putting them anywhere. I told him to wait so I could arrange them to the best advantage for receiving sun while they are in the living room.

Well I need to get a shower and do some more for class so I don’t have to worry about so much later this week.

I hope everyone has a great day.
Thiry
