Sunday continuing oppressive heat humidity, heat and humidity! UGH Should be better Monday.

Kelly: Yes, that is sooooooo hard to treat those infections caused by molds!

Yes, Dads eating much better with the new toofies! Getting used to them, but its getting better for him. PHEW.

Glad that you recognized that scam call for what it was! Good grief.

Thiry: Definitely busy and stressful last week, and HOPE its less so this week! I aim to make it so.

So sorry you were turned down for the apartment. Its tough when you have insurmountable medical bills. *SIGH* So sorry.

Enjoy your trip.

Sharon and Sunny: Hope youre having a good Sunday!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country AND THE WORLD!

See yall @ 3 pm.

Thiry!!! When are you going to be in Nashville? I live less than 10 miles from where you will be entertaining yourselves, so I hope we can get together.

Did I mention I got another Treasury call, this time from a DC number. It was so garbled sounded worse than driving over a washed out rocky road but I did manage to understand enough to know what it was. So that will be going over to fraud too. Men, sometimes you wonder what they are thinking, how lucky was he! Not just financially but what you would have done for not thinking - just kidding.

Enjoy your family outing and hope the temps drop some for you all. Meanwhile, see the rest of you at 3!

BARB I hope that things are calming down for you as it sounds like last week was a really busy and stressful week. Glad things are going well for your dad and that he is able to chew better.

KELLY those garbage calls are really a pain. Several years ago DH got a call on a Saturday no less saying we had been approved for a grant from the government. DH not thinking gave them checking account information. After he hung up DD and I told him that was a huge mistake and then he called the police and when they came by we gave them the phone number that the call had come from. Luckily no money disappeared from the checking account. DH hasnt done that again since.

SHARON We have been turned down for the apartment. Poor credit was the reason. Not much we can do about that right now as we had so many medical bills from when I was sick 2 years ago and the medical issues DH had that summer that we werent able to pay them and would never get them paid off in our lifetime as they were over $300,000.00. Do to these excessive medical bills we ended up filing bankruptcy as we only found 1 doctor that was willing to work with us on paying on the bills. The rest all wanted a minimum of $100/ month which we couldnt even begin to come up with. So I guess we are stuck in this apartment for another year.

SUNNY you are so very welcome and prayers that you dont need the oxygen too long. Im glad that you enjoyed the concert. The Amana Colonies are amazing arent they? Nice picture of both of you.

MUD Sorry you didnt get the promotion but hoping that the latest interview finds some results for you. Congrats on the weight loss.

It has been really hot and humid here also. We have had heat index of 110-120 most of this week. I havent spent any more time outside than what I absolutely need (to and from the care to get to work, gym and back to the apartment). I made it to the gym Monday through Friday this week but only took off the weight that I regained last weekend while on out visiting the wineries on Saturday and the fair on Sunday. Hopefully I dont regain that same weight this weekend as we visited another couple wineries and then saw Bill Chrastil play again Saturday and Sunday is our trip back to Norfolk for my annual family gathering. Hopefully it wont be too hot for the picnic.

On Thursday we found out that while on our bus trip to Nashville, Bill Chrastil, our sponsor for the trip will be performing at the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree at the Texas Troubadour Theater on Saturday night and all of us on the trip will be in the audience. This is going to be a really fun and long day. We also finally found out some of the performers that will be at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday night when we will be there. The only name I recognize so far is Aaron Tippin. The other performers that will be there that night are RaeLynn, Lucie Silvas, Exile, and Daily & Vincent. DH says he has heard of Exile but it doesnt sound familiar to me so will have to wait and see when we get there if I recognize anything that Exile sings.

Well I guess I had better get some sleep as we will be leaving for Norfolk about 9 for the picnic.

Have a great weekend everyone.
Thiry

Sunny, I absolutely love that picture you two still strike a wonderful pose. WOW! Fifty years coming upsometimes you wonder, how fast time goes by. And that would be a wonderful celebration but don't be surprised if they have other plans. You've shared it before and I always meant to ask, is your dress brocade? Mine was, but in 65 I bought a brocade long coat, since we got married in January (68), who knew it would come in handy?

I agree about having a long talk with Doc about the ongoing infections. I'll tell you about back in the 70's when I was going through still another long bout of chronic and acute asthma that I told Doc I know I inhaled a mold spore while we were in London and things just got worse from there on. Long and short of it, I was sitting in his office going through one of the medical mags (always the nosey one) and it mentioned something about competing mold spores. Well, hello, I reminded him that this was brought to his attention before I was in the area of Legionaires (in NYC), they took a long hard look at my xrays, took some more, had more folks look at them and lo and beholdtwo competing mold spores feeding on each other, they knew about one of them since it moved in long ago and we couldn't evict it. It took a long time to get rid of it but life became so much easier. I can not imagine what you have been through, it was pure H and I was in my 30's so you are one strong woman. Guess my wish is, there is an answer right under their noses and you can get back to your feisty self again. Oh and high five on the 4 lbs gone.

Roofers in this heat! Bet you are glad that is over and done with.

Barb, hopefully with your Dad's new set of "teef" he will start to gain back some of that weight. That is awesome your Mom handled an hours walk in the store! Hope you were able to get some answers about your Uncle. Oh, happy to hear your friend in Munich is safe, may they remain so.

Oh Sharon, loved your blog...too much of it is way too true. Truly love the giggles and outright laughs you give us.

The heat dome continues, and the wet stuff just misses usadvantage is the humidity doesn't get worse. Otherwise very very quiet around here, see youse guys tomorrow.

Thanks. We didn't get a lot of photos but had this one which our DIL had enlarged and put on canvas for our 45th anniversary. We love it.

Sure brings back some great memories.

Good idea to talk w/the dr. I would be tired of constant Upper Respiratory infections too. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE how tired you are of them. **SIGH**

I so agree with you on Prezbo. He is living in a fantasy land that I have never heard of and Hillary wants to move in and be the Queen. I hope not. I have heard enough of her screeching to last a life time.

Roofers are finished and the roof looks amazing. PTL for this....

I am feeling much better today and plan on talking to the doc about the regular intake of antibiotics to help fend off exacerbations of the COPD. Someone told me it was for Stage 4 only so I wouldn't qualify but I sure am tired of the upper respiratory infections. Send me a bubble quickly!

Mud, hope you get some responses to your questions about the interviews.

DH and I were talking yesterday about our anniversary (50 years) coming up in November. Our family wanted to have a party but we have decided not to do this and to go back to where Our Story began - Kansas City. Our family will all be home for Christmas so we will have family photos made while they are home and enjoy a Celebratory Dinner out with them at that time.

Take care...stay cool! emoticon

Happy Saturday! Going to check in early today. I think today will be a slow one today as DH is already taking a nap!

Hot and humid here too! Let's all pray this will be over fast, and temperatures and humidity will stay in the moderate or below range. We'll form our own little collective consciousness club. What do you think?

Barb! So very happy to read things went well with mom & dad yesterday! Glad to hear the dentist went well! Hope his appetite kicks in now! And mom seems to be doing well on the new meds. You need some warm and fuzzies, and glad you got some.

Also glad to hear your pen pal in Munich and family are ok. Do you think our prez is beginning to realize that these are not random acts of violence yet?

Glad you liked the blog!

Mud, I am in agreement with the rest here on asking for feedback of the interviewers for those jobs. Lets them know you are interested and serious!

Sunny, count me in on the emoticon on the 4 lbs. gone. Thats emoticon ! Sorry to hear you have another upper respiratory infection. I suggest acupuncture as it sounds like your lung meridian has major blockage problems. Clearing that out would help strengthen the lungs, and boost your immune system. Maybe get rid of the problem altogether. Do some reading on it. It would be a great compliment to the doctor care you are already receiving.
Hope your roofing job is done today in spite of the heat index. That might help keep your house cooler too.

Echoing Barb's sentiment- Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families, and our country as well as THE WORLD.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Saturday well drove Dad to his appointment and it went well. He is able to chew much better. PHEW I think this will help him get better nutrition.

Mom and I went to the grocery store while he was in w/the dentist. That was a good outing for Mom! She enjoyed it! That made ME happy.

Hot and humid, continues. OH well. Wish we could save the heat for when the winter cold comes!

Kelly: OH my goodness. Dad did very well @ the dentist. Seems the daughter unit isnt as dumb as he thought. HA I DID drive. No questions asked this time. Go figure, huh! We, of course, took Mom. We dropped Dad off, and then went off to the grocery store. I was SOOOOOOO happy! She did really well. We literally walked for ONE HR. VERY slowly, but whatever! She surprised me, but that was a GOOD surprise.

Dad is able to chew so much better and I think now he sees why I pestered him to go to the dentist! HA And I DID point out to Dad in as nice a way possible that HE CANNOT DO THAT AGAIN and what would have happened had Mom been in the car. OH MY LAWRD. He stopped to pause on that one.

I have a pen pal in Munich and when I heard of this shooting I was panicked. Did hear from her and she and family are ok. OMG, her DH had been there HOURS before!

Sharon: GRRRRrrr. These vaporizing posts are getting OLD. But, so be it. Here we are NOW, right!

OMG, Sharon, I dont know if Teflon, Kevlar, Iron and steel together could do the trick, but prayers might . . . **SIGH** Have to talk w/the brother today to see what the story is on my Uncle. Want to do that before I call HIM as he has said nothing to me about his upcoming surgery.

Your blog is HYSTERICAL! NEEDED THE LAUGH and hey . . . wont think of tech support in the same way anyore! BWAHAHAHA

Yup . . . we worry when someone isnt around for awhile!

Mud: Agree . . . you did a very wise thing asking for feedback of the interviewers for those jobs. It is a huge help moving forward so you can make any changes that might be helpful.

Sunny: KUDOS on the 4 lbs. released. Thats awesome.

NOOOOooooo! Not another upper respiratory! Wish I knew what we could fashion a bubble out of to keep us all healthy, well and sane (well, 2 out of 3 aint bad).

Hope your roofing job is done today. HATE that.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families, and our country as well as THE WORLD. The tragedy in Munich is just so senseless (well, they all are . . . just saying.)

Mud, sorry that you didn't get either of those promotions, they say it all happens for a reason and maybe this other interview was the reason. I think asking for feedback on the interviews lets them know you are serious about a promotion, hopefully if they don't respond back (shame on them for copping a 'tude) they will keep you in mind for something else. OY indeed.

What an exciting way to start your vacation, watching fireworks without battling the crowds! Sorry the weather was so hot but it seems to be everywhere right now. Weddings are always such a fun reunion. I have one in New York next month.

It was good to have you stop by, don't disappear for so long next time. We've been known to throw out one liners.

Good Saturday Morning, Team. Hot, Hot, Hot here in Mo. ugh...Since we live in the Northeast part of the State, we don't have a lot of the extreme heat but it has found us this year. Patience is the key word as it is moving out of here on Monday. It was so hot Thursday, the roofers quit early and then didn't get here yesterday because it rained. While the rain kept the temps in the morning down, we still managed to make 96 with lots of humidity. That is the killer for me. I remember it getting over 100 in Kansas when I was growing up but it was a dry heat which is different.

I went to see the doc yesterday and I had lost 4# so I was extremely happy about that. Way to go Mud on your weight loss and thanks for the Mud Slide Recipe. I won't make this one a habit but it will be nice to fix when my DIL is here from Kansas. She and I like something "special" when she visits.

Dealing with upper respiratory infection so started on Prednisone again. I am going to have to get used to it. I like the way I feel when I am on it but don't like the side effects. I also started on a Z pack. Barb, have you heard of taking Azithromiacin on a regular basis to prevent COPD exacerbations? Let me know what you think about this practice.

So sorry for you Barb. I agree with Sharon, it is time for the Teflon. Joining Sharon in praying for you and your family.

Today, it is early (Roofers woke me up). I am glad they are back and hopefully will get the job done before it heats up too much.

Enjoy your Saturday and by all means, Keep Cool. emoticon

Late check-in and quick drive by. Don't know where my post vaporized to. I did write yesterday. . . must have evaporated in the heat.

Oh Barb!!! So very sorry for all of this turmoil, and sadness in your life right now. Time for Teflon! Not making light of it - will most definitely start the prayers goin' up for you and your family.

Start adding cooler temps to your prayers ladies. . .

I have never seen Dolly but I love watching her on TV.. I know she is one talented lady! Eight instruments, WOW.

I hope your Dad agrees to limiting his distance I honestly didn't think to put Mom in that equation, but when I read it my heart skipped a few beats too about the what if's.

Mud, that Mudslide sounds delicious! Feel free to post some of your specialties here especially for Friday Happy Hours. I seem to have fallen behind the 8 ball lately. Also, emoticon on the weight loss!

Today was super busy. DH home, Mani and Pedi, and running errands, and then home to come up with today's Happy Hour blog.

Stay safe in this heat, we plan on hibernating if we have to.

Sleep tight and sweet dreams!

Share away anything and everything Mudslide, thanks and hey bananas are good for us too! We also have tucked away somewhere in the threads a bunch of recipes so feel free to add to those too. Of course, feel free to revive any of the threads or start something new.

How'd your Dad make out at the dentist? More so, how did Mom handle the outing with this heat?

Prayers all around! Especially in Munich.

emoticon It appears I joined this team WAAAAAAY later than I should have! Lol, I missed out on the Mudslides! They dont call me Mudslide for nothing. Jus sayin.

Here is my Mudslide recipe (I used to be a bartender, so no link to it. Its in my head!)

Mudslide Mary's Mudslide

2 oz. Chocolate Vodka
2 oz. Kahlua
2 oz. Chocolate Bailey's
1 oz. Milk

Pour boozes and milk into blender and fill with ice. Blend until smooth!

Swirl chocolate syrup "in a design" in a glass (Hurricanes are the prettiest) and fill with contents of blender.

Top with whipped cream, chocolate powder or chocolate shavings and a cherry, if desired.

Optional: 1/2 Banana emoticon added to the blender before the booze makes your Mudslide very smooth and extra tasty!

This is my fave Mudslide and I hope you all enjoy it too! Def NOT a diet emoticon drink but oh so good!

Luv, Mud

Oh my gosh. Didnt realize it had been so long since I checked in. I told you all that I would be hit or miss. Lol

I was not chosen for the promotion at either location. I am very bummed because I know I NAILED the 2nd interview. I have since sent an email to each of the panel members to ask how I might improve my interview skills and what I may have missed during my time with them. Neither one of them has responded at all. I feel snubbed and pretty angry actually but I have interviewed since then and am waiting to hear again! 👍

Just spent over an hour reading everyones posts for the last month & 1/2. You all have been super busy! I hope all is well with everyone and we are all healthy (or healing and improving ourselves) physically and mentally.

I MUST have the frozen hot chocolate recipe please! I am jealous not having had it all this time. If I google will I find it? Lol

DH & I went for a vaca to MO just after the 4th to visit his 4 daughters and fams (7 grands! Ages 12, 10, 8, 3, 2, 5 mos and 2 mos.) Wedding for one of them. It was hot & muggy. We had the most wonderful visit with all. Ceremony was sweet and beautiful. DH looked so hot dressed up. No ladies, not sexy hot. Haha. He was miserable everytime we stepped outside for pics. Poor guy.

We flew out of LAX early on the 5th so stayed at a hotel for the 4th. Let me tell you...the fireworks in SoCal are off the hook! We were on the 10th floor and watched from the window. They were everywhere and they started at dusk and we could see them no matter which direction we looked. Plus they went for HOURS! Seriously went for at least 3 hours maybe more. I had to go to bed and they were still going at nearly 11. I took video and will see if I can post. Pretty cool.

My prayers go out to the French and law enforcement. This is insane and I cannot even comprehend why all of this turmoil is occurring these days. My heart hurts from all of this.

Oh Lord. Please help our country and it's citizens to find the way to healing. Please bless us in this crazy time. Bless the French, law enforcement and those mourning the loss of their loved ones. Help them to find strength and the will to continue on in the aftermath of these terrible acts. Help us all, Amen.

Take care everybody. I promise to try and check in more frequently. Oh, I almost forgot! Weight loss going ok. Down about 5 lbs, even with a vacay! Yay me!

Carer will be here shortly. Then its off to the dentist around 10:30 am. THIS TIME IM DRIVING DAD and Mom will have to come with us. This will be a long appointment so hope to get the shopping done that I couldnt yesterday and get Mom to walk w/the cart.

Major storms in the area last night. Poor Mr. Spot was NOT a happy camper.

Kelly: By this time add a flask of wine to the list cuz the bubble wrap and calgon arent doing the job!

Hot and humid here, too.

You know there will be no negotiating about the distance. He COULD have had his license yanked, and I think he realizes that, so hopefully hell abide by the distance.

BWAHAHAHA . . . yes at least the cookie had peanut butter, oatmeal and dark chocolate! After all, especially dark chocolate is a food group, right!

Wearing the red, too.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See yall @ 3 pm.

Oh my Lawd Barb!!! Bubble wrap, Calgon, anything and everything else including hugs and prayers for you and the family.

Triple digit heat index again today, not sure how much longer this will go on.

Sunny, sounds like a perfect family get away, so happy for you all! I have never seen Dolly but have never heard anyone not enjoy her shows. Talented for sure and for someone pushing 70 sure looks good and has a lot of energy to go with that talent. Eight instruments, WOW.

I hope your Dad agrees to limiting his distance (tell him I had a limit on my distance too, he doesn't need to know it's been lifted) especially in this heat. And yes, my heart skipped a few beats too about the what if's if your Mom had been with him.

HOA meeting was well attended, a couple of folks tried to turn it into a smack down over a project because they did not read the packet sent ahead. By the time I got home, had not had but a couple of oatmeal peanut butter dark chocolate cookies (well they had a couple of good food groups in them) nothing at home appealed to me for dinner so skipped that little sumthin' I so looked forward to. Yes I know that was not a smart decision, doesn't happen often. Tonight it will be sipped and enjoyed, even if it's just a glass of wine. And I'm off with my grocery list to restock some go to chow before it gets so stinkin' hot.

Be safe in this heat, I will be wearing my RED, maybe with some blue for our first responders.

Oh speaking of Dolly, this song came to mind mostly because we were all new friends that quickly became old friends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chBN

Thursday Ok, now I am just freaking. Talked with my Uncle Joe last night (Moms youngest brother, Lynns husband). He told me that my other Uncle, Bob (Moms oldest brother) is going to have exploratory surgery for a suspicious lung mass. Are you serious????? SERIOUSLY????? I am just in shock. Absolutely in shock. I cannot say anything to my Uncle Bob because HE has not said anything to me. I am ready for . . . a . . . break. SERIOUSLY!

Hot and humid here. Heat advisory till tomorrow.

Kelly: No real break, but breathing!

OH my goodness on the call from the Treasury . Good grief, is there no end to scamming.

Sunny: Well, found out today that it is going to be $2100 and its the catalytic converter. He is going to pay it! BUT now I am talking to Jas tonight and we are going to have to come to an agreement anything over a 3 mi. radius is off limits, ESPECIALLY if its he and Mom together. If it is something they want to do together I will drive them. I cant begin to imagine what would have happened Tuesday if shed been in the car when it broke down. **SIGH**

Praying for that miracle, sweetie!

Sharon: watched the speech. Awe inspiring. There is some hope!

Good to hear that your car can be repaired, Kelly. Now to find out about Dad's car, Barb. What a day you had. I agree with the officer and hope the next time, he lets you drive him.

The concert was awesome. Dolly played 8 different instruments, Guitar, Fiddle, Lap Harp, Flute, Saxophone (one made especially for her), Banjo, Electric Guitar, & Piano. I am certainly impressed especially the Sax as that is new for her. She is quiet the character and I laughed until my sides hurt. What a hoot! We stopped at The Amana Colonies on Tuesday and then went back there again yesterday. What a great place.

I am home now and trying my best to rest today but the roofers are here so you know it isn't quiet. Ugh....

Thanks, Thiry for the support but with COPD, it is going to take a miracle. I do believe in miracles so I pray God brings one my way.

Hi Sharon....how are things with you?

Well, take care team and see you later.

Hugs, Sunny

Oh my, I hope you got some down time yesterday Barb! Parents can be so frustrating, I have been accused of that myself - wonder if they will survive when I do get old(er) Gosh I hope so. Sometimes it takes an outsider, especially one with authority, to get their attention which it seems it did, hope his words stay with him. Any word on a quick fix on the car? WOW that was a long wait for a tow.

How's your Mom holding up this week?

Laura I. sure knows how to get a crowd going doesn't she? Heard her a couple of summers ago when Cruz's Dad spoke here - now you want to listen to an interesting man, he would be it. When Behner resigned, he would have been my choice instead of Ryan. Apparently the Speaker does not have to be a member of congress.

Now they want the guvmint to step in to over regulate sunscreen. How about the makers just put in bold print, follow the directions completely - your skin will thank you. Then be very specific as how to use it or suffer the consequences.

Knock wood, my car fix was right on the money. This car has had very few things go wrong so fixing it is still cheaper than replacing it. There are times I come close to caving, and with there being literally no return on the savings accounts I would be tempted to put up with the inconvenience and finance it. Talk about discrimination, one dealer I went to (I would never finance through a dealer but just for grins and giggles) without hesitation told me they wouldn't finance me. Told them, maybe I'll just buy this place instead. I had a message waiting for me from the owner before I even got home, haha. I know, they are afraid of not getting their money back, but hey, young people are likely to skip out on payments too.

Speaking of messages, Tuesday I got a garbbled one from someone claiming to be from the Treasury telling me this was their final warning to call back. Apparently I have a criminal offense, then something about failure to appear before a magistrate. It has been reported and turned over to fraud. They are calling many old folks in the area, sadly a few have fallen for it (I pray I never get to that point).

Heaven help our Country and protect all those who protect us. Meanwhile, it will be a late night cap for me. Have a HOA meeting which is going to be a doozy and I know I will need a stiff sumthin' when I get home. Hugs

Oh, Barb, I am so sorry, but maybe this was a silver lining. It was good for the officer to reinforce what you felt like screaming. . . believe me, I would have been the same way. I know today is Wed, but I hope you'll be able to fit some me time or a frozen sumthin' sumthin' into your schedule today. Let's hope Dad heard that echoing message LOUD and CLEAR!!!

Sounds like you had an active, but fun weekend Thiry! Any news on an upcoming apartment?

Sunny I hope the concert was even better than expected. How old is she now? Glad you're getting some family time in along with it!

To answer your question, Kelly, why do you want to go anywhere when you don't have the opportunity - Murphy's Law! I'm with you on the new car, but one thing to keep in mind the older things get, the more they wear out. Also with interest rates still at an all time low, and back to college coming, many of the dealers offer great incentives. You know once this election is over interest rates HAVE to return to where they should be! They've cooked the books for 8 years straight!

Hugs and Prayers for our law enforcement and military. Been watching bits and pieces of the Republican convention, and there have been some great speeches - Sheriff Clarke, Donald Trump Jr., Mayor Guilliani, and Chris Christie. You can check them out on You Tube.

I may join you all at 3 today! Been doing mine later at night as the alcohol helps relax the muscles in my neck while I watch TV.

Hugs all!

Wednesday -- Dad told me Monday he thought the transmission on his engine is slipping. G-R-E-A-T. I am 100% sure that it is not going to be worth it to repair the car, for one thing, and secondly, I AM SEEING IT AS A SIGN THAT ITS TIME TO GIVE UP DRIVING. I am going to let him get an estimate on the car and pray he realizes that its not worth it. **SIGH**

Dad, against my advice, drove himself to his dental appointment yesterday. Okee dokee then. Appt. @ 11 am. I got a call @ 10:40 am that the car died. CRAP! So, took me ONE HOUR to get Mom loaded into the van to go be with him (hed called towing and had to stay with the car). When I arrived there, an officer was there, too. And his parting words to Dad were, Next time let your daughter drive you. Ummm . . . yeah! IMHO, Dad is lucky his license wasnt yanked as he had sooo much difficulty getting in and out of the car. Lord! I mean, thats not his fault, just saying . . . the officer could have judged him not capable of driving! Think Dad figured that one out. He was shaken up.

Long story short, I got home with them @ 3 pm. We didnt get a freakin tow until 2 pm Almost 3 hrs. All due to mistakes. Color me explosively livid. So now the car is @ the dealership.

Had to re-schedule the dental appt. for Dad till Friday.

Thiry: Glad you had a good weekend.

Kelly: All I know for sure is Dad;s appt. was @ aa. He called me @ 10:40 am. I got his appointment cancelled. THEN was the task of getting Mom out the door. OMG. By the time we got there it was 11:30 am. The officer was already there. I would imagine someone did call it in, and thats why the officer was there, because apparently Dad had called the towing company and was standing OUTSIDE the car on the road . . . VERY BUSY ROAD OMGOMGOMG Anyhow, the officer got dad situated back in his car and stayed with him till I arrived.

THEN he helped Dad from his car to my van. OMG LORD in heaven, I just thought Dads license was going to be revoked on the spot as he absolutely was not moving well. But he DID say to Dad, Let your daughter drive you! Hmmmmmm . . . ya think! Yup. And Dad was shaken up enough that I do believe he is going to ACCEPT HELP!!!

We didnt get home till after 3 pm and I just had the strength for a glass of wine w/supper. Oh lord.

Sharon and Sunny: Hope youre behaving!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families, our countries and ALL our first responders. I pray that the hatred in this country ceases!

Well, hopefully the bubble wrap has slowed the world down enough Barb, 'cause it's making me dizzy too!

Sing along, on a three hour tow. Hope the problem wasn't big and that long of a wait will discourage Dad from being Mr. Independent. Curious, an officer was with him, did a by-stander request a wellness check??? Hope you are taking some extra ME time right now (easier said than done I know but thought I'd remind you it's okay to do take it before 3).

Looked like a fun and busy weekend Thiry!

How was the concert Sunny! What a great way to spend family time.

Finally having some kind of dodad replaced on the engine mount, had to cancel twice while I was a guest at the Chateau. Took it over Friday and they asked me to come back this morning and they would run me home instead of waiting if a loaner wasn't available. So here I sit without wheels and wanting to go somewhere, anywhere. Why is that? The kids are after me to get a new car, this one is 15 yrs old with less than 130K miles on it, so why? I suggested they open their wallet if they wanted me to have so badly. Birds chirping. haha

Hugs and Prayers for our law enforcement and military. See ya at 3, likely tea for me today though.

BARB Thanks, we had a great time. Going through your parents stuff is going to be a big chore. Good luck with it. Sorry to hear about your aunt. Prayers for her.

KELLY I hope you enjoyed your breakfast brunch the other day. I dont agree that the changes are accommodating the mobile devises better as when I am out and trying to do things on my phone I am unable to find the Bonus Wheel and the Nutrition Feedback. I also dont like trying to record my food as when trying to find something on the favorites you have to scroll through everything as I havent been able to start typing and have it show up like when I am on the computer. I wish I could go back to using the full version on my phone, not this mobile app.

SHARON Glad you got to spend some time with the GS. Yes they can be very active cant they?

SUNNY It is great to hear that you are done with Pulmonary Rehab. I know that using the oxygen with activity is a pain as I was there 2 years ago when I had been so sick. I was able to be off the oxygen when sitting/resting but had to use it when I was walking, even to the restroom; to and from the bed/living room and we didnt know if I would be able to get off the oxygen. After a couple months I had my 6 minute walk and passed with flying colors and was able to get rid of the oxygen. With time I think you will also, just take it easy and use the oxygen when you are active. I am surprised you are having problems with SparkPeople with Windows 10 & Google Chrome as that is what I and dont have any problems on my computer. Glad to hear that Joshua is doing well. Prayers that it continues.

We had a really great weekend. We started off Saturday by driving to one of the wineries. We got there early so sat at one of the tables in the trees and had homemade sub sandwiches. When we finished we went in and did out wine tasting. We traveled to the other 4 wineries and then headed to Lincoln to see the Bill Chrastil show. On the way we stopped in York at the Sapp Brothers truck stop to fill the tank as gas was 5 cents less than what we paid in Omaha before we left that morning. After 12 minutes and only $4.00 gas I stopped the pump and we left. While I was pumping the gas DH went in to talk to them about the pump and basically got laughed at. Also, while I was trying to get my tank filled a woman came in and got gas at the pump across from me and filled her tank (over $20.00 while I got $1.30 in gas). We went to another station and finished filling the tank. It took another $16.00 so if we had stayed at Sapp Brothers it would have taken an hour to fill my gas tank. Yesterday I called the home office but havent been able to connect with anyone as of yet. Sunday we drove to Madison and spent the day at the county fair. When we got there we had free BBQ ribs as they had a BBQ cook off. We spent the day looking around waiting for the Hank Williams Jr. concert to begin. We didnt pay for tickets to the show but sat at the end of the arena and listened to the concert. It was a good one. I ran into someone I knew while waiting for the concert to start and he saw my Willie Nelson t-shirt that I was wearing and said that I now needed a Hank Williams shirt and that I have seen 2 of country music legends. I hadnt thought about that until he mentioned it. We didnt get home until midnight and by the time we got things settled and I got to sleep it was after 3 am. Needless to say I was exhausted at work yesterday.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Tuesday Auntie Lynn passed away yesterday @ 3:14 pm with her family. She was in her hospital bed, and able to look out the front window to see her beloved beach and Lake Michigan. She knew she was loved. Hole in my heart. She was wonderful, and now shes an angel.

Dad told me yesterday he think s the transmission on his engine is slipping. **SIGH**

Ok, thats it from my world right now. Can I get off yet????

Ok this is the updated version of today.

Dad, against my advice, drove himself. Okee dokee then. Appt. @ 11 am. I got a call @ 10:40 am that the car died. CRAP! So, took me ONE HOUR to get Mom loaded into the van to go be with him (hed called towing and had to stay with the car). When I arrived there, an officer was there, too.

Long story short, I just got home. We didnt get a freakin tow until 2 pm Almost 3 hrs. All due to mistakes. Color me explosively livid. So now the car is @ the dealership.

Had to re-schedule the dental appt. for Dad till Friday;.

Kelly and Sharon: Thanks. Yes, for sure Lynn lived a life full of memories, adventures and certainly was well loved. She is missed, but is in the safest place there is, reunited with her family in heaven. I am just comforted that she got to go Home on her own terms -- @ home, with her family, looking at the beach and lake she loved . . . and in no pain.

Good Morning . Barb, I'm so sorry about your Aunt, but like Kelly smiled that God let her come home and to see her lake and be with those she loved. I'm sure she lived a life to celebrate for sure.

Sunny, safe travels, and have fun! I bet that will be a great concert!

Kelly hope you are doing well.

Not much here on the agenda, and I'm glad.

Have a good day ladies.

Monday quiet day yesterday, thankfully. Talked w/my uncle and cousins. Auntie is still hanging in there. Able to talk to them. Sedated w/IV pain meds, though, which is good. No pain. Just too sad.

Sharon and Kelly: she is still hanging in there, but not expected to last thru the day, but have kept in touch w/my uncle and cousins.

So sorry, Barb, about your Aunt. That cancer is a tough one. seems like every day I hear of someone else battling cancer.

Today, I will bike and walk and then get the packing done. We are headed to Cedar Rapids, Iowa tomorrow for The Dolly Parton concert. We are going with our Son, Brian and his wife, Marla. I am so looking forward to it.

Woke up to Spark People working just fine this morning. Ugh...Makes me wonder if it was my server. I usually don't have a lot of problems and had planned to call them this morning if it wasn't straightened out. Woohoo, don't have to call them!!

I am off for now. Take care and do have a Marvelous Monday.

Barb, I am so sad to hear about your Aunt. Sent extra prayers last night when I read about it and of course now. This is not an easy time for your family, please know we all have extra hugs and shoulders to share. As you said, she is a wonderful woman and you will have many, many memories to help you through this.

Barb, I'm so very sorry about your aunt's passing. Sent up prayers for her, and asking God to comfort you and your family during this difficult time for you all.

Took my DH & DS 3 days ust to burn all the paper stuff my dad had kept. Had every single check stub all the way back to his very first job in mid 40s through the day he retired.

Sunday sad news. My favorite aunt who has been battling liver cancer for a little over a year (which I find remarkable) is being sent home from the hospital and has a day or two. Talked w/my cousins and my uncle (my Moms youngest brother). Just plain sad. Such a wonderful woman.

In the meantime, continuing on with the drama that is selling the condo. So far so good. Brother was there yesterday and straightened a few things. Next Sunday well go down, I HOPE.

Sharon: Sounds like a busy night Sharon!

OMG! Thank you for the tip on Habitat for Huanity. Some of the stuff I will schlep up here and perhaps will call Habitat. They are actually building a home not far from us! THANK YOU!

Yes, I decrapify and shred daily, too. After all our moves, I have learned SOMETHING anyhow!

Sunny: So proud of your Joshua! Hallelujah!

Kelly: Ummm . . . nope. The changes made it more difficult, but what the heck, Im conquering day-by-day. We will prevail!

I cannot even fathom the paperwork in their condo. Nope, better have a good drink before tackling that, because I am sure most if not all is shreddable.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, familes and our country.

See u al @ 3.

Barb, good luck today. I will pray that the universe helps send you exactly what you need when you need it. That is great news about Joshua! emoticon To him!!!! Thank you God from me too.

So, have you all upgraded to Windows 10? What happens if you don't?

Sunny, hope the O2 helps you out, and it is just temporary.

Kelly, we now decrapify every couple of years. Bought a shredder and shred almost on a daily basis.

Have a good day all!

Ditto on the O2 Sunny. It is so good to have you dropping by again, missed your smiling face!

I haven't been doing points lately but I found when they redid the pages awhile back you had to kind of look for things in a different color font to click on, Not many are happy with the changes. From what I understand, these changes are going to be happening with most sites because it supposedly accommodates the mobile devices better...got to keep those on mobile happy (they probably outnumber anything else.) I hate windows 10, and Edge keeps trying to override firefox. Hotmail is making it difficult to use because I won't use their adblocker.

That is exciting that Joshua is doing so well!!! So proud of him. Whoa, that is a lot of hours though.

Looks like whatever bugaboo the little one had Sharon, it is gone! Thank goodness. I would say you had a busy day, and still had energy to watch a movie. I guess it is a good way to slow down. I'm not much into old fashioneds, guess for me it is one of those drinks that you don't think about until someone mentions it,

I do not envy your trip into Illinois today. Notepads and pictures will help you sort through it all or get a game plan started. As far as paperwork, geez when I went through our unit I had boxes upon boxes of stuff that had to be shredded because it went back as far as the 60's when your social was on everything...credit card, bank, mortgage you name it it was on there. I didn't realize they started using it as an ID that far back (which of course it wasn't supposed to be like that, wink wink), I thought it started when our young kids were required to have soc sec numbers. Luckily, the sheriff's office had a shred day and another company had one at the right time. Yes I kept repeating to myself, to think we paid to keep moving all this stuff through all those years? Meanwhile I promised my friends who helped the first couple of week ends a 7 course meal, pizza and a 6 pack. Hey it worked.

Hugs and Prayers, see you all at 3!!!

Kelly

Good Morning, Team. I am up and have had my shower. Need to wake up Mr. Man.

I have it sort of figured out. The pages where you get spark points, the place where you click for spark points is not showing up. I have a new Windows 10 and didn't care for Windows Edge so downloaded Google Chrome. That may be the problem but it will have to wait until after Church.

Joshua is coming today. Yea. He has been working 23 hour shifts and weekend so we haven't seen him for a while. He just got a nice promotion to Quality Control Mgr. so that is nice. All in all, I think he is in a much better state than he was when he first came home. PTL for that!!

Take care and see you later today. Hugs, Sunny

Late night drive by. Busy day today. Got to babysit for a few hours today while they went rug shopping. Little GS is constantly on the move, and no fear with climbing up and down on furniture. Then we left there and met a family friend who worked with DH many years ago. The have kept in touch on a daily basis. Got home about 9:30 tonight. Watched a movie, and now just doing basics on SP.

Barb glad your Dad sold the condo. Yes, it is a headache. My parents had stuff from the day the were married. Don't forget about habitat for Humanity for donations. They will even come pick up stuff if you give them enough notice. Saves a lot of loading, unloading, and running around.

Sunny good to see you again. I went by your page too, and it's the same dull template we all have now. Good for you figuring everything out.

Kelly hope you had a good time at brunch. Try an old fashioned. Drinking more of those myself. Love the fruity taste, and I add about a half oz of simple syrup too.

Good night ladies - catch you tomorrow!

I changed my e-mail address and it straightened out. The problem must have been with gmail. I don't know.

Thanks for looking. Ugh....

I am doing well with the exercise although my 6 minute walk on my last day of Pulmonary Rehab was not that good. My oxygen continues to drop with exercise. Doc now wants me to wear the oxygen when I am walking or exercising. Maybe in time, I won't have to do this but for now, it is what it is.

I am going to do my best to get back as I have missed you all so very much.

Take care and hope to see you all tomorrow.

Sunny: First of all, glad that you're done w/pulmonary rehab. Kudos!

As for your page, hmmmm . . . looked @ your page and was able to see your photos. Yes about a month ago they did change our page. But again, as I say, when I visited your page, everything was as with any page now with the new format.

I am finally done with Pulmonary Rehab and wanted to stop by today and say Hi to everyone.

I logged in today to find everything really changed. I went to my page - no photos and that was only the beginning. I can't find the photos of my friends. My page has been changed & I don't even know where to start.

Surely someone can help me out on this. SIGH!

Help!

I am doing well and I hope you all are too. So glad to read Barb that Mom and Dad sold their condo.

Do let me know what is going on with Spark People and what I need to do.

Thanks a million.

Saturday I call a re-do on Friday. DANG! So much to do. But it was good to have the carer. She and Mom did well together.

So, we had an offer on the condo 2 days ago. Low balled. Countered. They countered. Still too low. Told the realtor our bottom line. Today counter offer for the bottom line. Dad accepted it, though brother and I think he could have done better. So be it. BUT they want the closing on 24 August. NOT POSSIBLE. All the possessions have to be gone thru and handled one way or another. **SIGH** Bill is going to start doing that on Sunday and we may go there as well. In the meantime the requested close weve asked for is 26 September. Well see. **SIGH* Ready to tear my hair out.

Really gorgeous weather. It did rain very early in the morning, but then stopped. The clouds hung in there all day, but the temps were wonderful.

I am glad that the condo is sold, for Dads sake, as he has been pardon m editorializing here driving me NUTS about it. I told him firmly that I CANNOT be in charge of selling the condo. I DONT LIVE IN ILLINOI! BILL does. So he breathed fire down Bills back and he got the ball rolling.

I think were going to go to IL tomorrow and perhaps the next few Sundays to get the things that we want and get other stuff donated. Otherwise it is up to my brother to get things completed there. We cannot leave Mom and Dad alone for a whole day. No way. I think he may have gotten that idea yesterday after we talked! LOL

I personally would NOT have taken the offer and just waited it out a little longer, but thats not what Dad wanted to do, so there you have it. **SIGH**

Bill and I have to go thru the stuff and decide. There is some furniture that I will take to replace some of my more weatherbeaten pieces. Papers, we have to go thru. Clothing dishes silverware (well, its not silver, but you know0 towels, all that will be donated most probably to Good Will.

Dad wants to sell some of the stuff, but he doesnt get that you HAVE TO BE THERE TO SELL things like the furniture. I cant do that. In all fairness, it would be something perhaps Bill could do, but he has to work too, so his time for that would be limited.

Thiry: Have fun!

Kelly: My brother and I arent happy that he accepted the 2nd counter offer, but hey . .. his property, his finances. Yes, as a whole I am not fond of realtors!

And HUGE sidenote to myself, too get decrapifying! (hey we now have another form of the verb!)

I havent watched the news, either, but was stunned by the news about Turkey. There is NO place that is stable it seems anymore.

Sunny, Sharon: Behave!

See yall @ 3 pm.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country. AND our world.

I understand your Dad just wanting to get on with it but I'm glad you got him to hold out for the bottom line. It drives me nuts how realtors encourage buyers to low ball and expect the seller to accept it. I think that is the biggest reason I've stayed put. I hope they are willing to wait another month. I do not envy the task at hand, it is hard to let go of some of so many memories.

Side Note to self, get busy decrappifying this place so the kids aren't stuck with it should I ever have a real health event. And don't let the house look like a bachorlette pad, messy but not dirty.

Looks like a fun week end Thiry. Kids amaze me, they can be so social when you least expect it; she was very comfortable around you two.

I looked up pink cadillacs on pintrest - seems most of them were tequila based but I don't remember them being that back in the 60's, I wonder if my Mary Kay buds remember the drink we came up with when they got their Caddies in the 80's. ( have a feeling it was ice cream based though) Decided last night to have a Negroni, was not thrilled with the taste of Campari or maybe my bod just wasn't ready for hard stuff. It enjoyed wine during the week though. Oh I also got my walking papers from the surgeon yesterday!

Haven't turned on the news, hope Turkey is still standing this morning. The friend I visited in Tx in May lived in Turkey for many years so understandably she is worried.

Got to get busy, this is my favorite breakfast bunch day that I missed the last two months - even though it's at the Marriott, this group frowns on showing up in your jammies. See youse guys at 3, think I'll stick to wine spritzers or check if my limoncello came in.

Hugs and Prayers.

Kelly

BARB I am glad that things are going well with your moms carer. Hopefully things will continue to go well for your mom. Good to hear that the condo is being sold. Hopefully all goes well for you with the sale and closing.

KELLY Oh yes and she was definitely full of energy. We were really surprised that she took to us so fast since it was only the second time she has ever seen us and for a 2 year old that was amazing. Good to hear that you are getting better. Heres to continued improvement.

SHARON Thank you, it certainly was a fun evening and she was really always on the go for sure. Glad your appointment went well.

SUNNY Hope things are going well for you

I had a good week, especially at with my scale. Between the weight recorded Sunday and yesterday I logged 3 pounds off this week.

Saturday we are planning to head out and visit a few of the wineries on our passport before finishing the evening at a Bill Chrastil show. Sunday we may drive to the Madison County fair to hear Hank Williams Jr. sing and maybe look around at some of the other things that are still there before being taken home.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning All! Just a quick check in, and hope you all have a fantastic and fun Friday. Hope all goes well with mom today, Barb. So happy the new agency is what you had hoped for, and a good fit. I knew you had the condo up for sale, but didn't realize you'd gotten a bite. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed.

Any word on your Dad's CT yet? I'm hoping no news is good news!

How are you doing Sunny? It's been awhile since you've been by to join us. Hope all is well.

See you all later at Happy Hour! emoticon

Oh what energy the little ones have, that was wonderful you two got to spend some quality time with her Thiry. Wouldn't you know, you'd find those cards...haha. We've all done it.

Barb, is there a sale pending on your folks condo? Fingers crossed. I agree, changing agencies was the right decision, noticed it early on and hoped it would continue.

Any word on the CT? Whoot on the cold going bye bye.

Sharon that grasshopper brings back the 60's, anything with booze and ice cream. Thanks!
Hey great on the dental visit, I know some of those folks have heavy hands, something frozen is well deserved.

How are you doing Sunny?

Oh, released from Ortho today. One down, one to go.

Hugs and Prayers, sad what happened in France. No way to celebrate Bastille day. Night all!

I'm baaaccck! Dentist went well. Different hygenist, and it felt like she was digging for gold! Made me miss the regular one who is on vacation. Check up by the dentist went well - everything fine.

Decided to post a VIP Friday Happy Hour Coctail. Since it's really warm, this one should be very refreshing:

Frozen Grasshopper recipe

1 oz green creme de menthe
1 oz white creme de cacao
2 scoops vanilla ice cream

Mix all three ingredients together in a blender and blend until drink has the consistency of a good milk shake. Serve with a spoon and straw. Serves 1

Glad to hear Frozen Hot Chocolate is on the menu today, Barb. Sounds good for the gums and teeth - a little sensitive right now.

Meeting a friend for dinner, so I'll check in again tomorrow morning.
Happy Friday Eve! emoticon

Morning everyone! Dentist appointment for cleaning for me today so this will be short.

Thiry, so glad you got to spend some time with your GD. That is such an active age, and about where my little GS is. He is always on the go.

Barb, hope all is going well for you, and you hear some good news soon about your Dad's CT. Hope mom continues to improve on the new med, too. Is your cold gone yet?

Kelly, I think we're having similar weather. It's going to be a hot one today. Heat advisories are out already.

Will check in later. Have a terrific Thursday y'all!

BARB Hoping that you get good results from your dads tests

KELLY Thanks, I will mention Masters Week to them but I am sure they already know about that.

SHARON I am so glad to hear that the little Cookie Monster is doing better. That playground sounds really neat.

SUNNY Hope things are going well for you.

Thank you for all the well wishes for my son and his fiance. I am so excited for them and anxious to meet her. This is giving me added incentive to get to the gym to work out as I want to be less than 200 pounds by the time of the wedding.
Sunday when moving things to get the bed ready to remake it after washing the bedding I moved the board that is a makeshift table beside the bed and I found the bank and Sams club cards that I was missing. I knew that I had brought them home but just couldnt remember what I did with them after getting home that Sunday after getting gas in the car.

We got word Tuesday the DHs son and family were home on vacation from Pennsylvania for a few days. They wanted everyone to join them at the zoo but needless to say with DH working for Wal-Mart he couldnt get off at that late notice and by the time I knew they were at the zoo it was too late for me to join them as I only had an hour before my appointment for a massage so neither of us made it to the zoo to meet them. We got together with them for supper tonight and after they came to the apartment for a little while and to drop off their daughter for us to babysit for a while. She was on the go the whole time they were gone climbing up on the couch, covering up then getting down and chasing after the cats, up into my lap then down and into DHs lap. She was in a great mood the whole time she was with us especially since she hasnt seen us in over a year (they were here after DHs bypass surgery last year). If I am remembering correctly she will be 2 next month. DH really enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter tonight. We may see the kids again before they leave depending on all our schedules.

We had a really heavy rain here as I was getting off work. I got soaked getting to the car and after an hour and a half at the gym then driving home my clothes were still wet from getting from the office to the car.

Have a great week everyone.
Thiry

I know that waiting for the phone call feeling Barb, hope it is smiles on the other end when it comes.

Cracked me up your Dad joining in...bet he enjoyed it after that danged contrast stuff!

Geez, the least they could do is send up the all clear flag Sharon. Kids. Ha

I love the French mani. Don't know what it's called but had a similar one, instead of clear it was just a hint of pink, nice for the dead of winter and getting the thumb uncasted. I may do it again for the wedding next month. A tip from my daughter in law's Mom who used to process professional photos. She noticed early on that pictures of gals with a French mani were nicer over all than those colored things sticking out (or whatever she said way back in '95). Funny what comes to mind.

Another nice day yesterday, more of it today - not so much for the week end though. Not a whole lot of anything going on around here so will see youse lassies and lad at 3!

Have not heard a peep yet about the test. Hoping tomorrow. But at least I'm optimistic that means must be ok. Otherwise, you get the ol' "Oh, sorry! Could you come back for a re-take. We need a better view (or fill in the blank). And an MD supervises the process, too.

Hey Gals! Thanks for the virtual hugs!!!! Haven't heard a peep from DS, so I assume all is well, and each day is an improvement.

Kelly, I get french nails. My salon charges $5 more than regular mani for them. I like them because they look like my regular nails, and always cleaner!!!! They stay strong, and last as long as three weeks or more (I've done this many time over the years due to scheduling conflicts) until I go to get nails and toes done. The time before this was almost 6 weeks for my nails and toes as my gal was on an extended vacation. I get at least 3-5 compliments on my nails every time I have them done until I go again. As for the difference in mani prices, all the younger girls know what's what - it's us more seasoned girls that grew up with one price no matter what that don't know all the buzz. My gal just told me last time that the "Spa Pedicure" went up by $5. Next time I'll just be retrograding to the regular pedicure as it's cheaper.

Loved the video. Wish I could dance like that! I "got no rhythm", and I'm the first to admit it!

Barb, hope all went well for your dad with the scan today.
A family affair happy hour!!! emoticon

Hope everyone else is doing well, and hope you all enjoy your evening!

Whew that is a relief to hear Sharon! May that be the end of it.

What a fun playground, considering what our city is doing to our playgrounds makes me a bit jealous. So how much longer before retirement, vacation time can make it come so much quicker. Are you prepared to have him under foot?

I don't blame those places for charging more for that stuff, it is hard as heck to get off Even the lacquer stuff is a royal pain. Not all of us keep up with the newest and latest in nails and have no clue what they are picking besides a neat color. Can you tell, until this year I didn't spend a lot of time in nail salons? Oh and I noticed too, french mani's cost more now. Can't blame them if people are willing to pay, go for it.

Well, things were better with our little Cookie Monster yesterday. He was up and about a smiling. All tests came back negative. No messages last night about any ER trips so that is good. When we got back after our outing, he was happily munching on tortilla chips.

We went over to pick up GD and take her out for the day so she could get some individual attention and have some fun. We stopped and had lunch, and of course, she wanted a cheeseburger. Then we took her to a playground that her Dad found about 30 minutes away from where they live. What a humongous and neat one it was. In amongst a lot of shade trees, and different areas for different ages. Then we drove around a little bit more to find a big water park I'd read about. It was super crowded being a weekend, so we'll go earlier next time. I do want to take them there.

DH back to work today. He was stressing about it all weekend, you could tell. I know retirement can't get here fast enough now for him. Good news is we are managing to save up vacation not having to travel to see kids anymore. So he'll be able to take several more extended vacations like this one between now and retirement.

Congrats to your DS and fiance Thiry. You must be over the moon happy!

Kelly glad you talked to your friend, the manager. The salon I go to charges $5 more for gel polish than it does for regular polish. That's fine with me because it lasts the whole time without chipping, or cracking until I go again, and makes my nails stronger.

Barb, hope today is a good day for Mom, and all goes well. Keeping your Dad in my thoughts and prayers.

Catch y'all later.

Morning, another storm free day yesterday - whoot! Things just may dry out a bit if the humidity doesn't do us in first.

Woke up thinking about the little cookie monster Sharon, hope he is comfortable and they got some solutions. Extra prayers and hugs sent.

I think I got caught up on my sleep last night, 4 hrs straight again, in bed for over 7 hours interrupted by a couple of necessary pee trips but able to go back to sleep. Liking this thing called sleep...

Something to distract you for a few Barb...

Hang in there Barb, we'll do our best to keep you entertained in the meanwhile.

And how is the little cookie monster Sharon? Did they admit him with the second trip in?

That is exciting news Thiry. Remind them Masters Week is out...I'm sure they know that already. You will enjoy Augusta by the way.

Well, this salon is a very popular full service, I don't go there often. (I go to Great Clips so I can do a mani or pedi) It is hard to find a place for a pedi that is not asian owned around here which is how I ended up there to begin with. I know the owner and sent her a quick message suggesting they clarify exactly what you get with what since there is a range of prices for each level. It does say the "spa" pedi includes polish, there again a range of prices but for what? I don't know if the gal that usually does mine knocks a few bucks off because I don't do polish and this new kid doesn't. They may have hurt themselves because they used to have two footbaths and got rid of one so appointments are going to be even harder to come by. My hand got lazy in the hospital, soon as it is back up to nearly normal I can go back to doing my own footsie spa at home, giving me more fun money or to enjoy a little sumthin sumthin more often. Oh, still no nap, fixed breakfast, settled in and flipped between le Tour de France and Wimbledon, just staying busy since.

Another beautiful day here, hope you all had great weather too!
