Sharon: The visits went ok. Dad had some edema issues (swelling). I told him awhile ago that he needs to cut the salt out and put his feet up. Hmmm . . . . guess what the Dr. told him. Surprise, surprise . . .. same thing. So . . .. now maybe he'll take it to heart (literally!)

I'll take a no news day! LOL

I would say we already play very well together! You two made my day! Congestion is gone but the season is rolling in earlier than I like. All I ask is it stay under control until I get back from Florida.

Really, Mr. Spot you are one clever and fearless pup! I'm still laughing.

Oh my, ants! We had that problem last year. I bought some stuff called Orange Guard at ACE that worked really, really well. I sprayed inside, along the outside where I thought they were sneaking in and along the garage door. Before breaking down and getting that, I sprinkled cayenne pepper along the counters, helped. Works on spidey too. For sure log those points.

I think if given a choice I would have taken convenience while traveling over a cheapo microwave. I'm surprised with such poor choices though.

See ya at 3!

Hey Ladies! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Kelly, I'd come play everyday if I lived nearby. I play nice, and like to have fun. Sorry you're feeling under the weather today. emoticon

We had a fairly quiet weekend except for our running around on Saturday. We broke down and bought an iPad at Costco. I had been racing up the rewards points with the thoughts of either a new microwave or something else. Originally was going to use it toward four new tires, but the car couldn't wait. emoticon So, we went Saturday to look at microwaves, but didn't,t like any of the "four" models offered. All too small and cheaply made. So on to plan B. Hymmed and hawed for about an hour, and walked out with a new iPad Air 2. I'm trying it out right now. It will be much easier to use on trips than my phone! We also decided it would give us a computer to use when traveling. We've not had that luxury.

Spent the entire morning in the kitchen battling ants. Thought we'd won the battle as we didn't see any for a couple of days. Wrong! DH gets home, and says "so, I see you've decided to go medieval on the ants, huh." I will beat those little buggers! Then wiped off a set of handles on cupboards, which cleaned up nicer than I expected, and that then necessitated doing ALL the handles and drawer pulls! Definitely got my housework exercise points today! emoticon

Sunny hope you are having a fun time with your DIL.

Catch youse guys later!

Well, it's been a day, and I am tired. Hope you all had a nice evening. Sweet dream, girls!

Kelly: AWWWWw if I lived nearby we could play together. And I play nicely! LOL

Your dog sounds like a dickens like my Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog. We once built a barricade to keep Mr. Spot in the kitchen if we'd go out. He was only a little pup (maybe 6 mths. old.) Anyhow, we went shopping, and got back. I said to Jason, "I think I hear Spot barking by the door, but how is that possible?" That little minx had CLIMBED UP A 6 FT. BARRICADE by using the drawer handles and greeted us @ the door. OMG. Jason literally spent hours building that barricade . . . . all for naught! LOL

Sharon and Sunny: HOpe it's a good MOnday.

See y'all @ 3.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families, our country AND as you said, Kelly, our first responders.

Happy September Eve! Geez, this year is going by way too fast.

Talk about time going fast, lively Leah is Three - already? Birthday wishes going her way.

Quiet Sunday no one to go play with. Just as well I didn't stay for lift off, their idea of dusk and mine are different and I would have been really cranky from being hungry and having to p. Going to be a quiet Monday too. Congested this morning with allergies. Warm liquids are helping. Cat is being really demanding for attention again, hey I am just so happy she is up and alert. Dog still doesn't understand she can't rough her up like before. And I had to figure out a different barricade to cat's feeding cubbie hole. She found she could push it over, with me literally right there. Then acts like she can't get out and not all that guilty.

Prayers not just to our Military and families but our First Responders.

Happy Sunday! Glad to hear Mom is doing good, Barb, and that you all got out for lots of laughs!

Kelly, sorry to read that the balloon fest was a bust for you. Hope you have a better Sunday!

Loved the Blue Hawaiis too. They were a big hit with our neighbor for his farewell dinner.

Little Leah is celebrating her 3rd birthday today (early) with all of her friends at the Waterpark. Last year it was too cold to stay in the water for long. We will be going our for her actual birthday soon. Just got a picture of her Dinosaur themed cake. I'm hoping we can talk mom and dad into a Nemo themed party when we go. She absolutely loves the Finding Nemo Read Along Book we gave her a couple of months ago. That is the first thing she talked to us on Facetime about today.

Got to run. Catch ya'll later.

Sunday – rained all day. But did get out, so that was nice. Did get out, so that was a nice break.

Mom had a good day today. Had a nice family dinner and actually shared lots of laughs!

Hope you have a blessed Sunday.

Sharon: Oh no on the computer! Hate when that happens.

HEE HEE . . . . yes I am always cloud-bound when we hear from John. He does call pretty frequently, but just for short conversations. Busy life! That’s good. That’s a parent’s job . . . . raise ‘em and let ‘em go. *SIGH**

Sunny: Hope you had a good time @ the Balloon Fest.

Our fur babies can sometimes be Bossy Pants, can’t they! **SIGH**

Hugs and blessings for our soldiers, families and our country.

That reminds me, I have been meaning to call my mother in law,. Hangs her head in shame. Used to be a problem when we first moved to WA with the time difference. Anyway Barb, I know it was great to hear from your son and that all is well. Hope your Mom had a good day yesterday, a good one today and so on and so on.

That is great that you do so many things with your daughter in law Sunny, enjoy it! And yes, the guys if they are anything like hubs was (I bet they are), it's like shouldn't you be on the road by now?

Well, I didn't watch the lift off. What a traffic nightmare, 40 minutes to go less than 2 miles. I could have parked at the end of the last lot and watched from there but then it would have meant a bigger mess getting out. Even leaving soon as they lifted off. I forgot this place doesn't have a lot of commercial near by, which I thought I'd grab something to go and just stay by the car to watch. There was nothing. To be honest, by this time the fun of it was far gone. As for pizza, grabbed one from Little Caesar. Had a slice, pulled the cheese and pepperoni off a few more slices and tossed the rest. (It's cheap so I don't feel bad doing that)

Did you hear me laughing Sharon, I agree about it being sacrilege using anything else for the crust. But this is supposed to be a wellness place, just thought I'd put on some airs, hahaha! (I have made the cauli something or another Italian, it was okay but a lot of work for one person)

Well, Miss Bossy cat who must have slept really, really well last night is demanding a lot of attention and I keep getting interrupted so will see youse guys at 3!

Hey all, really late check-in. Busy day, running errands, goofed up my computer BIG TIME and spent a couple of hours getting it to work again -Thank God! Then we sat down to watch a movie on Hallmark Channel - Gourmet Dectective. Good one, and highly recommend it. Fixed dinner in there, too, and it's all a blur.

Barb, so glad to read your Mom had a good day today! It is tough for sure, and I too admire you in all you are dealing with. Happy to hear that John called, too, and is doing well! I'll bet you're still up there in the clouds after hearing from your "little boy".

Kelly, hope you found a nice shady, and comfortable spot to watch the balloon festival from. And for the record, you can't call anything with "cauliflower crust" a pizza! That's pure sacrilege! Your relatives from the city would be mortified! I think the standard NY size is 20 inches or more! They are definitely huge!

Sunny, hope you have fun on your girl's weekend! I actually think my DH loves "batching it"! No one to nag him and he can sit around in his skivvies and do whatever he wants when he wants! emoticon

Glad you all enjoyed the blog. Got lots of Sparking to do in the next 30 minutes or so, so I'll say goodnight and see you all tomorrow!

Hi Everyone. Good to read you Mom had a good day today, Barb. It is tough and I so admire you. Hang in there. ...and John called. Woohoo.

Today, after biking, I did some house work and some laundry. It is amazing how much laundry the two of us have. Yikes!

DIL will be here on Wednesday and then we will leave on Friday for the Girl's out weekend to Arthur/Arcola (Amish Country) in Illinois. Rich will be here batching it for the weekend.

See you tomorrow afternoon after we get home from Church. Hugs, Sunny

Saturday – Rainy day from the afternoon onward. Supposed to lighten up this afternoon. Good thing1

Mom had a much better day today. Very confused today, but in a pleasant mood, so THAT is a huge improvement from Thursday. Even had flashes of being humorous! That is like the old her.

John called and is doing well. He does call but not too frequently as so busy. He is happy and sounds like he’s doing well. That’s all I need to know.

Kelly: Oh yes, the NY size slices are ginormous for sure. When I visited Jason when he was living in NY before we married, we’d walk like crazy then stop into this pizza shop. OMG, the slices were HUGE! But so good.

What a great way to start the day, laughing so hard the tears are clearing out the ducts! You are so danged funny!

Nothing exciting for today. I put off getting tickets for the hot air balloon festival today one day too long and they sold out. I had thought of maybe finding a spot to watch lift off, well now I guess if I want to see it that is what I'll have to to.

I've had pizza on my mind since you mentioned it, maybe tonight, with salad. The pizza joint up the street lets you order by the slice and they are always so busy that it is generally fresh out of the oven, And it is the ginormous sized NY slices. Maybe I'll do that, they have a patio to sit on. Or I have stuff here to make a flatout one, I think I have cauliflower so maybe do that for the crust, nahhh too much trouble for one and it doesn't reheat well.

Hugs and Prayers. Humidity is coming back, keeping an eye on Erika (have a niece named Erika, she sure is taking a teasing).

Makin' Blue Hawaii's for the introduction to our get together tonight. Anitpasti, pizza, and salad. Tried to get some healthier things on the menu rather than just pizza! I have been EXTRA good all day in preparation, and ate very consciously yesterday, too!

Remembered to wear my red today!

Yummmm! Cool breezes, mumu, gumdrop on top of the umbrella so I won't stick it in my eye. This will be on my list to try again soon. Memories.

Our local bar used to make Titan 'tini's during football season, vodka, curacao and maybe something else.

So sorry to read about your mom's confusion yesterday Barb. Hope today is better for her - has to be - it's Friday and Happy Hour time!

Here's today's perfect summery cocktail:

Blue Hawaii

1.5 oz light rum
1 cherry
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1 oz cream of coconut
1 slice pineapple

Blend light rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut with one cup ice in an electric blender at high speed. Pour contents into a highball glass. Decorate with the slice of pineapple and a cherry.

See you later at Happy Hour!

Friday – thank goodness! Yesterday was a difficult day for Mom. She was just so very confused and actually thought I was not alive. Don’t know where this came from, but finally got her settled down.

So, today started with a walk. A good thing. Nothing like a walk @ zero dark thirty. LOL But saw the sunrise. That’s a treat.

Sharon: That sounds like a wonderful recipe that I’m definitely going to try.

Kelly: Wearing the red today too!

Change isn't always for the better. **SIGH**

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

Happy Friday!

Looks like they took the motivational scroll off the front page too. I reminded them that their turquoise doesn't cut it either.

Wondra flour! Just used the last of mine, put it on my list. Love cooking stuff like that on a cooling rack, does a nice neat job, brilliant whoever made it popular. (I used to use the broiler pan) I like idea of coating with oil first. Thanks!

Wow you must have really need that sleep! Hope you are back on schedule. I'm up around 5, used to be 4. The animals sometimes try for that hour, especially if I go to bed before midnight but even they are sort of sleeping in with the nicer temps.

For sure they want Carly to go away and Dr. Ben too. I don't plan on watching it anyway because it would be a replay of Fox, not addressing the real issues. If these candidates were smart they would tell them we are not wasting our time letting you put on a side show.

Can't believe it is Friday already! This month just flew by. Of course I will have my RED on. See youse guys on the front porch at 3!

Hugs and Prayers.

Thanks for the compliment, Barb. I like to cook.

Dinner was easy. 2 pounds chicken breast tenderloins. Lightly coated with 1/2 cup Wondra flour, plus 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, and fresh ground pepper.

Mix flour and seasonings together. Coat chicken with tsp olive oil and mix to coat all tenders. Dip each tender in the seasoned flour, and shake off excess. Place on cookie sheet with rack so air can circulate. Bake in 400 degree oven for 40 minutes, turning halfway through cooking.

Transfer to ovenproof baking dish coated with Pam Spray. Top with 1 - 1 1/2 cup(s) of Marinara Sauce. Sprinkle all with 4 Tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese, and then 4 ounces of diced mozzarella cheese. You can add more to taste, if you desire.

Put back into oven for about 5-10 minutes until cheeses are melted.
Serve and enjoy!

Makes 4 8-oz servings (That's about 3 tenderloins per person)

This was very low carb because the Wondra flour is so light and barely coats the chicken. The seasoning gave it a great flavor and some crispiness. Served with side salad of romaine lettuce. DH loved it and said it was delicious. emoticon

I'll post the Pasta recipe over the weekend.
Night all! emoticon

Sharon: Oh lord, I'm definitely up at the crack of dark and NO WAY would I go outside with PJ's on. Even at that hour, you just KNOW that's when you're going to fun into someone.

I do my walks early in the morning and it is pretty dark when I leave, but people are suitably dressed, thankfully!

Good to see you back here, Sunny!

Sunny and Kelly, I couldn't agree more about Carly Fiorina. I loved her from the first moment I saw her on TV. Maybe if enough people comment on her absence, they'll rethink the decision. If I see they seem to be biased in their choices, I'm not even going to tune in. The real reason they probably don't want her is because she'll put Hillary to shame! emoticon And H couldn't play the "sexism" card!

Whew, glad to see you were all a "more than one cannoli" group! emoticon
The dinner was delicious! So much so our guest asked for a lunch sized portion to take with him. I'll post the recipe when I get a chance to type it out.

I totally agree with you,Kelly, about the "nutritional guidelines du jour". Just take a look back over the last 30 years, and it's so evident. We drink black tea. One of our favorites is Stash Double Chai Spiced. I even use it to make iced tea, and it is very flavorful, and delicious.

Also, I'm not up at zero dark thirty unless I have to be! Still snoring (peacefully?) at that hour. emoticon I agree with the PJs in public thing. It seems the last couple of years when we've stayed in a hotel, 80% of the people that come down for the "free breakfast" are in their sleepwear. Don't they think it's pretty evident?! Guess we as a society no longer care. Who knows, pretty soon, they'll be able to show up at work for casual Fridays like that! emoticon I would be mortified to let anyone see me as I just got out of bed. Even if I take out the trash I'll throw on a T-shirt and shorts or pants.

Yes, they seem to have they screwed up the front page still again, and yes, I agree to make it harder to get our points. I started using the page for quite awhile to win the bonus points for the teams, but if they make it a PITA to use, I'll just stop!

Three terrific days here, too, and I was hoping this was the intro to Fall. . . Guess not. We are having our neighbor over tomorrow night again, at his suggestion because our previous 2 dinners on the deck were so wonderful. He's bringing wood fired pizzas from a local restaurant, and wine. I'll supply the salad, and maybe a nice antipasto platter for an appetizer. Who knows? I was sooo tired last night, that I went to bed 90 minutes earlier than normally do and slept 9 hours straight!

Got to go finish dinner. Am doing Chicken Tenderloins Parmigiana with a side salad.

Thursday – Well, Mr. Spot the Wonder dog had been ill all Tuesday night, so Wednesday was a slow day for me. But thank goodness is Mr. Spot is fine today. I think he must have eaten something that didn’t agree with him.

The temps are wonderful! Loving it.

What is with the stock market??? OH MY LORD! Tuesday the precipitious drop and yesterday a gain of 619 points. Good grief! We’ll see what today brings.

Sunny: Yes, so glad to be released from the dentist till December. My budget thanks him. But let’s wait and see how December goes.

OMG . . .. Peppermint Chocolate tea sounds WONDERFUL!! Going to have to look it up.

Couldn’t agree with you more about the Administration. **SIGH**

Kelly: Yes, that’s the problem w/me and cannolis. No such thing as just one.

Well, the blessings of being up early is I get lots done before my brain realizes, “Hey, what in the heck is she doing??? Is she insane?” Well, probably mildly insane, but that’s all right. Normal is highly over-rated.

Gorgeous here too. And yes, we’re supposed to be back in the 80’s by the weekend.

NO! I HATE THE CHANGES right now. UGH

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

There is no such thing as one cannoli!!!! Great dinner ahead or not.
When our daughter was born, John was given orders to be at the bakery (next town over) at 6am when they opened, drop cannoli's off at the hospital then go over to his folks with the other goodies.

I can understand your Mom being anxious having hubby away, you are doing excellent keeping her calm.

Now they say even black tea is good for you, depends upon which marketer wants your attention the most. I'll have to look for that peppermint choco blend. We have a little aromatherapy, etc. shop near by that does some nice blends of tea.

You were up at 'em early Sunny, you and Barb and Mr. Spot crack me up hitting your stride early in the morning. I'm up but not getting out of my jammies to hit the street, although a lot of neighbors are out in theirs as the sun is coming up. Then there are those out in them during the day and yes, they shouldn't be.

A lot of candidates are annoyed with CNN over how they are determining who gets on the A team debate. And I use the word debate loosely. She sure hit it out of the ball park with her first debate and sure has a lot of moxie, business failure aside. Hello, Trump.

Another beautiful day, but summer will return by the week end. You all have a terrific Thursday yourselves and see ya at 3!

Oh, is it just mine but have they screwed up the front page still again? Making it harder to get our points. I stopped for quite awhile because you had to spin the wheel just to get credit for checking in, now you have to look and click all over the place. Streaks aren't that important so I think I'm going to pass on it.

That pasta dinner sounded great. I probably would have had two cannoli's also.

Way to go Barb on being done at the dentist. emoticon I love tea and actually one of my favorites is a Vanilla Caramel Tea by Lipton but it is made with black tea. I also like Peppermint Chocolate Tea which I get from The Republic of Tea.

I also agree with everyone that "someone" is trying their best to destroy our country. Ugh! I have nothing good to say about the current administration. I sure do think Carly Fiorina makes a lot of sense and wonder what CNN is going to do by leaving her out of the debates. She is in the top 10 according to the polls and should be included. I honest think they are afraid of her. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

Off to the Sun room to get my walk and biking done. Hope you all have a Terrific Thursday.

Hugs, Sunny

emoticon Barb, for not having to go back to the dentist until December! Sorry to hear your mom was so anxious while your Dad was gone. Good thinking to "relax" her with a Frozen Hot Chocolate with sumthin' sumthin' in it!

Kelly, I hear ya. We had our neighbor over tonight for dinner, and I bought cannolis for dessert. Simple Itlaian themed dinner - Pasta Puttanesca with Italian Sausage. It was great, and DH said I pretty much hit his nirvana for pasta with that one. Anyway, had one cannoli and it tasted so good I had another! So much for low carbing! Was good up til dinner cause I knew what I was serving.

It was so nice here, we ate out on the deck for the second night, and tonight was even better than last night. I'll take it and give me 60 more until winter!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel like this is an "inside job".

Just starting my Sparking - you all were my first stop - haven't even spun the wheel yet!

Have a great night, and sweet dreams . . . emoticon

Wednesday – well it was a pretty good day yesterday. Had my dental appt. Don’t have to go back until December. HURRAY!

Dad had to go to IL. Did fine Mom was anxious all day, but kept her as calm as possible. Doing well now that Dad’s home.

Gray, cloudy day all day but no rain. So, that’s all right.

Otherwise, uneventful, thankfully!

Sharon: Bingo! Inside job for sure. I really do fear for the financial future

We had a wonderful afternoon till about 4 pm. She was super anxious for Dad to return. Sooooo . . . . I had her sip on a Frozen Hot Chocolate w/Kaluha knock off. I didn’t join her this time as I was totally wiped and that would not have helped! Anyhow, she settled down when Dad got home safe-and-sound.

Yeah, do you believe it! He must be up to date on his payments for the yacht and mansion. SHEESH

Well, you ate responsibly for supper. That’s what counts. Hey, things happen, right!

HUGS and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

Wow, another autumn morning! Won't last long though.

Barb does your Dad use one of those tripod style canes? I saw one the other day that was pretty neat.

Folks don't remember the 70's and 80's and media and DC has convinced them that 08 was the worst.

Well that was good news on the dental Barb! That reminds me, I'm due for a cleaning.

Hope all is well and quiet today for everyone. Having lunch with a fellow Sparker that I don't get to see often since she doesn't have to come out this way for PT and Ortho visits. Going to meet her out in her neck of the woods and hit Costco. So will likely miss you at 3. Oh yesterday, lost all control, grabbed a yummy dessert from my fav place with my iced tea and headed over to the lake and enjoyed the fresh air. Did take a walk but would have had to go a 5K to walk that off. Did eat responsibly for dinner though.

Hugs and Prayers.

Hope the dental visit went well Barb. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Now he probably won't want to leave you!

Yeah, I agree with Kelly. We all have to worry no matter how old we are, and so do our grand-kids. They have artificially inflating the market, the dollar, all of it since the git-go back in '08. I think this is only the beginning, and hope we don't see anything close to what happened in the 70's and early 80s. I beginning to think there is a conspiracy to destroy our country, and it's an "inside" job.

Hope you and your Mom had a nice afternoon out Barb. Kelly, take care. . ,

Kelly: Dad admitted he lost his balance, so I am going to be the enforcer re: using the cane. Enough is enough! But he's doing fine. No difficulties. Thank goodness.

OMG . . . . when I think of how many people depend on that type of investment for their retirement . We'll see what happens. **SIGH** Going to be a long recovery though.

Tuesday – busy day. Have to go to the dentist to start off the day. Should just be a short visit I hope!

Otherwise, want to get Mom out for a little while today, so will get that done after I return from the dentist. BUT the good news is I don't have to return till DECEMBER! Wahoo.
Hope it’s a good Tuesday, everyone!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country for sure!

SuperBarb on the scene!!!d Here she comes to save the day....Katzenjammer Kids, when was the last time I heard that??? Or the Old Country Buffet.

How fortunate you were there and the medics were so close, hope all is well with both those ladies.

How is your Dad? Hopefully he just misjudged where he was going to sit.

Certainly hope yesterday and the rest of the week, month, etc go uneventful.

We all knew the market was going to eventually tank with the Fed artificially beefing it up. They need to stay the heck out of stuff AND stop printing money. I know it always rebounds but at my age I worry more and more. Good thing I wasn't counting on that extra extra required distribution money (over what I got last year, this year would have been a windfall and put me in a higher tax bracket, I just hope it all doesn't go away)

Sharon and Sunny hope all is well in your worlds.

Chilly out this morning, luv it! See youse all at 3!

Monday - I can’t say that my life is NEVER dull or boring. Went to Wal Mart w/my parents yesterday. Jason and Clara went in Jason’s car and I went with Mom and Dad. We did our shopping and were heading to the respective cars when Jason shouted for me. Holy Katzenjammer Kids . . . . I thought something happened to Clara!

As it turned out, there was a black woman, probably about 55, who was actively seizing and not responsive. She’d hit 3 cars and narrowly missed some pedestrians. OMG! When I got to the car, she was actively seizing, warm to the touch and an irregular heart beat, but she was breathing. I had someone get security from Wal Mart and call 9-1-1. I stayed w/the lady to make sure that she kept breathing till the parameds arrived. Took them about 4 minutes. Meanwhile, the passenger in that woman’s car says, “I’m diabetic and feeling poorly.” Oh crud! I didn’t have anything to give her, but was going to run to the Old Country Buffet and get some Coke. FORTUNATELY the parameds arrived quickly, though and could tend to her and the seizing woman. LORD LOVE A DUCK!

But who has more fun than a barrel of drunken monkeys. There’s MORE. Last night as I was about to head to sleep Mom comes to me panicked. “Dad is on the floor and can’t get up.” OH CRAP! Went into the bedroom and Dad was sitting by the side of the bed. He was unhurt but couldn’t get up. Jason and I got him up. We will have to discuss this one today. **SIGH**

So . . . on that note, also noted that the stock market is down 380 points and it’s not even open yet! OMG! Is anyone ready for Tuesday yet!????

Sharon. I think she is going out tomorrow. But don’t know how long she is going to stay w/her Mom. But any time is precious. She is a fighter (my Aunt is) and she’ll do her best. That I know.

So happy to hear that your DH is feeling better today. Wahoo!

Kelly: AS for an uneventful Monday – sign me up! NOW!

Yes, I was sooooooo glad to see the honor bestowed on those soldiers. YEAH> As you say, listen up USA.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

I thought I asked about how hubby was feeling Sharon, hope that by now all that he had is now long gone! That breakfast sounds so good, and of course steak and great company cures anything!

Good point about enamel, time to use straws for more than smoothies.

It isn't easy to be so far away, good suggestion. Our kids only made it up a couple or three times, daughter in law even made time to stop by when up on business. Talk about mood lifters! To be fair, her folks live here and when she is in town they monopolize all her free time, rarely an exception. I know, they are great people and that is their quirk - we all have them.

Monday, already? Except for going over to help with a group mailing, which should be more laughs than hard work (and a "craft" beer whatever that is) it'll be a quiet one.

As Sharon proposes, hope your Monday is uncommonly uneventful! Luv it....well, I'll be a rowdy group at three, I'll have them raise a glass at 3!

Wow, France has already awarded those three Soldiers for their heroics last week. America you watching at how things are recognized? Hugs and Prayers.

My heart is sad too, Barb, to hear about your Aunt. It is difficult for sure, as I did this with my parents the last 5 or so years of their lives. Maybe she can fly out once a month for a long weekend to be with her mom and dad. Also visualizing the extra bubble wrap, teflon tape, and whatever else we can find to comfort them going their way. Of course prayers are on their way. emoticon

Thanks for the virtual hugs and support on the weight thing. Yes, I am frustrated, but hey, two pounds is two pounds - now if I can only KEEP it off!

DH was feeling better today. Much more chipper, and that was good. He ate decent breakfast of bacon and eggs, and a good steak dinner. Had our neighbor over for dinner again tonight. We had such a good time last week he was up for doing it again.

I don't like the taste of cucumber, and they make me burp. But I do drink lemon water once in awhile, but wonder what it does to the enamel on my teeth.

Kelly, good to know you've been getting out - even if it was a little more than you expected to pay. Better than sitting home gathering moss. . .eh?

Hope you all had a super weekend. Hard to believe it's over already! Sheesh!
Hope you Monday is uncommonly uneventful!

Night all . . . emoticon

Oh my, sad heart here to hear about your Aunt. It is difficult for sure and hard on her daughter, extra bubble wrap, teflon, cushy material whatever else we can find to comfort them going their way. Of course continued prayers. Sigh.

Sharon, hopefully that half pound is nothing more than H20 hanging around. Maybe make a small (or large if you like it) pitcher of lemon and lime water to drink today. I hear adding cucumber to it helps. I'm not big on cuke in it though. Two pounds are two pounds. Take a good look, has your body changed, how are your clothes fitting, what's your energy level? I understand your frustration though.

Well, have nothing exciting so will see you all at 3, my wallet says nothing but seltzer this week for you kiddo. I have two lunch outs this week at not so cheap places.

Hugs and Prayers.

Sunday – Found out today that my Aunt Lynn’s liver biopsy confirmed liver cancer, stage 4. This is devastating news. She is choosing to have chemo starting on Monday but the prognosis is grave to say the least. She is 75. It’s so sad. The cancer is inoperable, so that’s why she chose chemo. Spoke with my cousin (her eldest daughter). She's doing pretty well, but is finding it so hard to deal with because she live on the East Coast and my Aunt/Uncle live in IL.

So spent the better part of the morning talking with her daughter, my cousin, who lives in Massachusetts. It is really hard on her being so far away

Otherwise we had a good day. Had to go to the bank and do other chores, and we got it done.

HUGS.

See y'all @ 3 -- be it seltzer, or something-something! HUGS

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

Kelly, I have to agree that most Republicans are all RINOs or even Dems in sheep clothing. The way these politicians frlip flop back and forth between parties, depending on the way the wind blows is ridiculous! And you are right, it sure seems they haven't got a pair to protect our country. Where have the politicians gone who would protect our freedoms and values? 42K at his appearance in Mobile AL last night. It was some crowd. Held in FB stadium. How is he tied to H? I'm with you on Gowdy. I do think he'll get her in the end. Not appearing until mid- October gives time for more to be flushed out. What do you all think about the theory that ol' prez is behind the leaks to get her out of the way so Biden could run, and pretty much ensure a 3rd Obama term? You are so right about if it were any of us, our houses and everything else would have been searched better than if looking for hard core, and we'd be behind bars already. I remember when DH had burn bag duty, too.

Barb, glad to hear about your mom and that things have been going much better for her. Must be those new recliners!

Sunny, glad to hear about Josh, and you are burnin' down the road on the bike and the treadmill!

Well lost a measly two pounds this Summer Challenge. Now during the break I'll probably put it back on again, and lose it in the Fall Challenge again. That seems to be the pattern these last few challenges. emoticon

DH not feeling well, Intestinal pains in lower part of intestines he says. . . So we'll be laying low.

Hope you all have a super Saturday evening. emoticon

Saturday – Well, it was a beautiful day yesterday! Looks to be today too.

Mom has had a few good days now, so that’s been a joy.

Hope it’s a great weekend!

So glad he has the sponsor. That’s awesome. That is a huge key to success, honestly, from what I’ve observed.

You are forgiven my child for not venturing into the Friday libation. I have never had a pedi (really ticklish feet)! Very few mani's too. What I do like is when I can get the full arm massages with warm oils or whatever they use.

That is great to hear Joshua is doing well AND got a sponsor. Wow you are burning up the calories.

Will have my 3 o'clock at 7, tonight is the last Music at the Mansion so will have sumthin there. Keep your fingers crossed the rain holds off, it's all outdoors although the music is on a covered porch. But will see you on my porch at 3 with some seltzer.

Okay, I belong to a freggie co-op that offers side items. This week it included tamales. Well, I didn't read the description, it is a kit and not made up. This will be interesting, haven't made tamales since the 80's (had a great little ole Mexican lady show me, and I'm sure if she is still alive laughs evertime she tells that story). Great ingredients, the masa fill is already mixed so that is a saver for sure. Brave face here, I'll tackle that during the week.

Well, look at most Republicans, they are all Rhinos or even Dems in sheep clothing and haven't got a pair to protect our Country. They won't get behind anyone who even resembles a conservative or tea partier. I would say Trump is at least maybe getting the rest of them to address issues that they wouldn't otherwise; getting the public to challenge their views. I don't trust him especially with his ties to the Clintons more so H. He's like a side show right now, everyone wants to see him and if they had had to pay to see him the crowd would have been much smaller. Wish Gowdy et al would just throw down the gauntlet and haul Hitlary off. If it were any of us, our houses and everything else would have been searched better than if looking for hard core, confiscated and we'd be in chains. Why in the h e double hockey sticks is she getting away with it. When I worked for Electric Boat, the security we had to go through daily or just taking documents up the hill to another building was time consuming and crazy, but you did it. First breach, you lost your clearance status and either moved to the secretarial pool or fired. Of course back in those days you didn't have it all on computers, but I think that way was safer because it was harder to hack tossed paper, carbon paper, typewriter ribbons, etc that went into the burn bin nightly.

Should get movin' here, so will see youse all at 3!

Kelly

Sharon, you ask about the Trump phenomenon. He sure is "feeding" into a lot of anger and I question what he really is up to. Why did he get a call from Bill Clinton the week he decided to run? Why, after all these years as a Democrat, is he now claiming to be a Republican? I am just not sure about him and time will tell. I just hope he is not running to split the vote like Ross Perot did back when Bill Clinton was running. Makes one wonder for sure....

I was impressed with Carly Fiorina during the debate.

I need a mani pedi and would love to lunch with you all. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

The new recliners for your folks sound great and an exercise bike too. Your brother did good, Barb.

Kelly, you probably could have the backsac dyed black. It is worth looking into for sure.

Joshua is still doing good and we are most thankful. He even got a sponsor this time which is something new.

I have biked 30 minutes this morning and walked 10. It is a very chilly 63 here this morning and it looks like it could snow. emoticon

Well, I am off to do another 10 minutes on the treadmill.

Love you all, Sunny

Saturday – Well, it was a beautiful day yesterday! Looks to be today too.

Mom has had a few good days now, so that’s been a joy.

Hope it’s a great weekend!

Sharon: Yea for getting mani-pedi.

Yup . . . . his and hers recliners.
