Hey All, the sun is out today, and boy, is it bright after cloudy skies for the last almost 4 weeks! I was almost blinded when I waked int the kitchen to make my coffee this morning!

Glad your mom and dad got out, Barb.

I'm so VERY sad to hear about your mom, and if your Dad has given up, that says a lot. That is heart-breaking for you all, I know. You are so lucky to have found a nursing home that specializes in memory care and only 5 minutes away! You could go multiple times a day on your way to and from home, and YES, that would keep them on their toes!

Hope all goes well for your dad with his appointment. DH had his bridge installed last week, and he said they did a beautiful job, and he was VERY pleased with the results. Hope it goes as well for your Dad, Barb.

Anyway, that’s how it is.

So glad your dad made it home in one piece, and I hope he will be more reserved with his driving. Is that facility within his safe zone radius?

Kelly, so sorry to hear that your sinus stuff turned into asthma, too. Gosh I hope it clears up soon. Did you make the cough suppressant? Hope you're not having cough spasms. Your front proch sounds nice, but being in FL, I think I would do screened in patio, too, given all the BUGS, especially around this time of the year. Those "love bugs" were downright disgusting! I've never seen anything like it!

Well, going to sign off. My back and neck are getting sore while I've been sitting here.

Hugs to you all! Will have a little something to help relax the muscles!

Tuesday – Well, yesterday was a completely gorgeous day. Mom and Dad actually sat outside for ½ hr. in the afternoon. It did Mom a world of good. DAD TOO!

Today Dad has the last of his impressions for his dental prosthetics. Hope all goes well. Don’t need any problems.

Rainy today. THAT is not a good thing.

Right now my heart is breaking. Mom did not sleep all night and this is rough on Dad to say the least. It’s rough on us all. Dad is at a point where he’s given up. He wants to put her in a nursing home, so that’s something we will work on today. I’d already looked @ a facility that has Memory Care and is 5 min. away. As I explained to Dad, that is a GOOD thing because then we can stop there anytime – they won’t know when – so that will keep them on their toes. That is utterly important.

Anyway, that’s how it is.

Kelly: Yes, Dad made it home in one piece. We had a little discussion re-interating the fact that he may NOT drive any further than 2-3 block radius (which is where anyplace he needs to go would be). Just have to hold my breath that he listens, and I think he will. This episode with the car scared him. GOOD. ME TOO! I followed him home to make sure all was well, too.

Huh, Jason though he was ok to drive the day after his cataract surgery too! DUH. He could tell he wasn’t going to win that argument w/me. He was right! He didn’t.

So sorry to hear that asthma reared it’s ugly face for you. **SIGH** Hope the respiratory issues clear up!

That patio sounds wonderful. I would have a covered porch in FL, too, if I lived there. Too nice to be indoors.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

DEFINITELY see y’all @ 3. Is it 3 yet???

I take it Dad made it home in one piece. Maybe rush hour will discourage him? Wishful thinking maybe. I'm smiling, remembering last year when my brother in law almost had to hide the keys to Mom's car after her cataract surgery because she felt she was fine to drive. She quickly came to her senses. Oh and all the best with him and his dental appointment, may there be no more glitches.

Well my mini bronchitis/sinus issue has morphed into bronchial asthma - Sunny I had forgotten what those attacks were like. I have always said a prayer of thanks that mine were few and far between and wished a quick recovery for you, this round so far is very mild. Long night, sure it will be nap time this morning.

How are you doing Sharon, getting lots of relief and on the road to all better?

I tell you, my friend in Texas has a wonderful covered patio it was wonderful to sit out there while it rained with our wine and kindles, because we needed to rest our voices and laugh boxes . Meanwhile, I'll sit on my porch long as the rain is coming from the north. I have decided that when I build in Florida, there will be a deep covered front porch at least.
See youse guys at 3!

They've had your Dad's car for awhile it seems.

Saturday was pizza too. I should have gone with my first instinct to grab a pie and salad, but didn't want to wait so headed to little Cesear where it doesn't hurt so much to pitch most of the pie because it's only $5. I was very happy with eating the crust off a few slices and pulling the topping off to eat. Oh well, I was already in carb overload from the Challah bread. And yes, it will be a longgggg time before I do that again.

I figured out one thing, when it finally finished it required me to use my hotmail to continue, later this morning I noticed a second very plain que in the corner so I clicked on that and bingo, up comes the old set up so I am using that. But it takes some looking for pictures, I'm not convinced they are all there but it looks like all the files are. However the rest of what they didn't put back leaves me unhappy. Oh well, I have adblocker back on that page so I'm not so distracted. In the menu there is a lot of xbox stuff that you can not disable. So it looks like they are selling ad stuff there too.

I should get moving, have a great afternoon, beautiful sunny day, good one to be on the front porch.

Monday – pretty relaxing day. Mom is totally confused but was calmer today. That is a blessing.

Had a pizza party. Everyone wanted a pizza, so who am I to argue with that! NOT ME. I didn’t have pizza, but that’s all right. I was glad to stick to my plan so I stay feeling well. NEED TO DO THAT for sure.

Well, back to the work week routine. Jeanine will be here shortly.

If Dad’s car isn’t ready today, will ask her to stay on Tuesday w/Dad when I take him for the rest of the impressions he needs for his dental work.

Here’s to a mundane Monday – is there such a thing??

Sharon: Glad that the muscle soreness is getting less!

Mama: Glad to hear from you! Glad things are going well for DH w/the job.

And glad that DD is starting to come ‘round.

As for your back, hope that straightens out.

Kelly: I had that happen w/my ‘puter too. Installed Windows 10 and it took me a lond while to get used to.

Glad you got to go out and have some fun yesterday!

Wow, happy 97th to your MIL.

Hugs and blessings to our soldiers, families and our country.

See y'all @ 3 pm.

What a great day you had Sunny!!! It's uncanny how much our grandson looks like John now.

That's about all I can manage of a LIT too Barb. Although last night I fixed myself an Irish toddy. Thanks for the cider and honey suggestion Sharon, something I would have never thought of. Cider is a great prebiotic too, kill two with one.

Good to see you Thiry! Nice that things are turning around for you and your husband, hang in there with those other glitches though. Don't be such a stranger.

Okay rant time,,,last night I was shutting down the puter because it was acting wonky when the windows 10 thing popped up, thought I hit the x apparently not because it started up. Figured well, time is running out might as well do it now. Good grief, maybe 2 hours later it finished and I am madder than a wet hen. Who designed this, a two year old, and its supposed to be better? It's slower than dial up. Nothing transferred over including my files and pictures, etc etc etc. Oh Sharon, is it adblocker.com we use? Geez I had forgotten what a pain in the arse ads are and those danged popups. Now what? Can I unload this monster and will all my stuff still be on windows7? Of course they offer you a new version of word at half off, I'll be looking for a free one but first I hope beyond hope my stuff is recovered. No there wasn't a prompt to backup anything and really didn't think about it.

On a lighter note, had a great afternoon. A friend invited me to join in her birthday dinner, she and her long time friend and mischief maker and so hilarious, then two others did a surprise drop in. Certainly entertained our side of the restaurant, all without alcohol. I was happy she invited me, was feeling melancholy over not going to NY for my mother in laws birthday (97 yesterday), first one I have missed in years. I just couldn't put pup back in the holidog hotel again. She is still mad at me as it is. I'll be up there in August anyway.

Nothing exciting going on around here today or even the rest of the week. So will see youse guys at 3.

Hugs and Prayers to our military and their families.

Hello every, I know I have been missing in action for quite sometime but hope that with the changes going on here that I will have more time to stop by here more often.

Things are going well for DH. He is doing really well and working full time although he gets really frustrated with his job from time to time but other than that he seems happy there.

DD is starting to come around. We have spent a couple hours with her a few times this year so far. I think one thing that has helped with her turn around is the stunt my sister pulled on her back in November leaving her without any form of transportation except for her bike.

As for me I have been working as usual although as of a couple weeks ago I am only working my full time job. A lot of things have happened with my friend over the last few months and right now I don't recognize the person I see. She has accused me of "milking her for hours" with the time I have spent putting her receipts into Quickbooks after last fall saying "I don't want you working on my receipts at home as I don't know if the time you are recording is your actual work time". This from someone I have called a friend for 38 years. When she finally said to go ahead and work on it at home I didn't have enough time to get the information all in for her to do her taxes on time so she had to file an extension, She is now saying she has an auditor looking over what I have done for almost 2 years and "if they find one thing wrong they will come to my current work and audit everything I do there". I told her to go ahead as we have a audit every year as we are grant funded and the state sends periodic line item audits that I have to send in when requested. My boss laughed when i told him her comment. In addition to that she and her son are saying that I am not to stop in to visit with any of the clients that I had helped take care of or they will turn me into the state and authorities for a HIPAA violation. Obviously neither of them know what HIPAA covers and the sad part is that her son is the CEO of a home health care company. The HIPAA violation is on her part when she has been insisting that I get a note from my doctor stating my diagnosis when I had strep in March. She thinks that there is a special rule for people in the health field concerning medical notes from doctors.

Other than than I have had trouble with my back twice now. The first time was the Monday before Christmas when I really started bothering me while at a couple appointments with my DH. After going to the doctor for my back I was given muscle relaxants, along with a couple other meds to help with the pain and referred to physical therapy. After about 8 weeks of physical therapy I was released and tried to get back to the gym to continue working out and hopefully lose weight. That all changed on Easter when I felt a pain in my lower back while at church. When I got home I did some of the exercises I had been doing at PT then fell asleep on the foot of the bed petting one of the cats. When I woke up I was in so much pain I couldn't hardly get to an upright position. The next day I was at the doctor in tears for my back. She scheduled an MRI to see about finding out why I'm having trouble with my back. When I left the doctor I went to the chiropractor as in January she told me my pelvis was twisted so thought better to check it out. When I saw her for the 3rd time on Friday that week she told me I was walking a little straighter than when I came in on Monday, I didn't realize that I was walking to the side. Also when I went to work on Tuesday my boss asked me why I was at work with my back hurting so bad I could hardly walk. I told him we had payroll to get done and I could sit at home in pain with 4 cats climbing on me or I could sit at the office in pain (no cats). When I would print anything that day it was brought to me so I wouldn't have to get up and move around. One time I did go to the printer to scan some things to my email and one of the other staff saw me there and said "I told you I would help you" to which I responded, "I know but thought I would stop by and do this on my way to the bathroom as you can't go to the bathroom for me", She laughed and said OK. A few weeks ago the consultant that has been in and out of the office since last fall was talking to me and said that they were all really worried about me that week as I was really pale all week. I hadn't realized that either. My back is doing well right now and I am finally back at the gym and DH and I are meeting with a trainer every 2 weeks right now to try to get into a good routine that won't irritate either of our backs.

Well enough about the last few months I hope everyone has a wonderful week.
Take care
Thiry

Barb glad to hear some good things about mom again! Hope you get some more R&R today.

Kelly sounds like you had some fun, too! Highly recommend mixture of equal parts of apple cider vinegar and honey for your cough. Really helps quell those coughing spasms. You can take a tablespoon at a time as often as needed. Has really helped DH with his coughing fits.

Sunny sounds like a great day. So happy for you.

The muscle pain is no longer constant - sporadic. The heat seems to have de finely helped!

Lots of hugs!

Just checking in. Joshua and Brian came over after Church today and planted my sunflowers! Yea!! We had such a nice time and spent about 3 hours outside with them. Feeling very blessed right now.

It was a gorgeous day, Barb. Glad you were able to get Mom and Day out for a while.

Happy Armed Forces Day and thanks to all our soldiers who served our country!

Saw your photo of hubs on FB, Kelly. It made me smile!

Sharon, hope all is well with you.

Take care and hope to see you all tomorrow.

Sunday – what a gorgeous day! Sunny and warm. Got Mom and Dad out, but too crowded for a walk. Went out to dinner w/them. Enjoyed the kitchen reprieve.

Today hope to relax a little.

Good heavens! Eleven Hours...

My heart goes out to your friend and her Mom Sharon. It is difficult enough but to be there each and everyday as she is does not help her and I worry about her health as well. It is so great that you are able to help her, but she needs more and I'm out of suggestions other than bug the daylights out of her insurance and the facility she is in. Or is she home I don't remember?

Looks like you are going to have a house full soon Sunny. Don't wear yourself out.

My schnoz routine helped the sinus', felt better yesterday but the bronchial cough continued, not often. Volunteered a 5K the Highway Patrol had today, had a few spasms but doesn't seem to be getting worse. I may just treat myself to an Irish toddy again, after all it is Saturday night. Mother Nature was nice to us this year, really chilly at 6a, the sun came out later and no wet stuff. They also do a kids 1 miler and a tots 100yds (for 5 and under) how cute these kids are. What impressed me, were the tweens and nearly tweens that ran the 5k with great times. Also, the police dept has a police explorer program for teens and as they progress even help out in some things, met 6 of the nicest kids. The program is great because generally the kid knows whether or not they want actually want to go into law enforcement. Of course we were campaigning for the Patrol. They also brought out all their toys for folks to see.

Hugs and Prayers for our Armed Forces not just today, but everyday.

Sunny: Yes, it will be at least til Monday when we can see the affects of Namenda, though I am already doing the major hallelujah, because she slept ELEVEN HOURS! WITHOUT GETTING UP! I had told Dad to give it to her @ night as it does cause drowsiness, figuring it might help her sleep. Voila!

OMG, it is so difficult to deal with the nastiness associated w/dementia, but if they were aware of the nastiness, they'd be mortified to death. I know Mom was the complete opposite of that type of personality, so this is really a difficult situation. BUT can't take it personally, but as I said, that's difficult too.

I pray that the pulmonary rehab works for you! Fingers, toes, eyes and legs crossed!

Maybe by Monday next week, you will see if the Namenda is doing it's job. Praying for the best for you Mom, Barb. That is tough.

Sharon, I hope your BFF does not take her Mom's nastiness to heart. Her Mom is probably frustrated with all that is going on. Bless her heart and your BFF. My Mom had her moments when she was dealing with the Leukemia. It is difficult to say the least.

Kelly, will have to look for that brand of bourbon. I haven't even heard of it.

I am continuing in the guest rooms today. Hope to finish them up so I can concentrate on the rest of the house.

Pulmonary rehab starts on Tuesday so it's gonna get busy. I pray this is the one thing that gets me headed to a more "healthy state" of being. I will let you know how the initial consult goes after Tuesday.

Take care team, have a Super Saturday and see you tomorrow after Church.

Hugs, Sunny

Kelly: The afternoon was the best she's had in about 1 week. PHEW Started on the Namenda. Won't see it's affect for at least 3-4 days.

Sharon: Hmmm . . . that sounds like your BFF has Alzheimer's. Once they reach the moderate to severe stage, they can become emotionally labile and mean.

I feel sorry for your BFF being the target of her Mom's nastiness, but that's how it goes. Some days here it's Dad some days me, when the carer is here, it's her. But can't take it personally as it's part of the disease. *SIGH**

How exciting Sunny!!! That is one special super duper gift to two very special folks. Luv It
Sunny the plain toddy was without alcohol. I'm debating about having one now. I have some good Irish whiskey that I'll use. And yes, the snooz has had its irrigation. I'll have to look for the Angel Wings just for the bottle.

Hope your Mom had a better day today.

I guess you have already seen the reason for the banner blocking our team logos...adblockers! It's our fault. Geez laweez. Not likely to disable the blocker long as they clutter everything with a sales pitch, especially the scrolling ones. I don't think it is going to change, unless enough leave and their revenue goes down. I had already been to two of the three you shared, will drop by the other one later.

Whoa, Bushmill's hot toddy, easy going down. Okay, see you all later tomorrow. Lots of hugs coming your way.

Hi All,

First off here are the links to where you can let your voice be heard on the ugly new spark page issue. I just posted another comment here. Send the link to everyone in your address book. That's the only way things will get changed. If not, I may leave SP. I went back to my page for about 20 seconds today, and left. It no longer motivates me, and honestly hurts my eyes.

Kelly, it is not just yours, there is a small banner add covering most of our team picture on my page, too, and I went and checked my other team pages too. Same thing. I told them they had "messed" that up too!

Don't forget to rinse out your "schnoz" with your irrigator three times a day Kelly. That will help tremendously. Add some good ol' whiskey to that hot toddy. Agree with Sunny, you can't go wrong with Maker's Mark, and Angel's Envy is even smoother, and tastier. The bottle has angel wings etched on the back. So comforting . . . They're pricier than most, but as always, you get what you pay for.

Kids will be moving soon. I'll let you know after they get here for obvious reasons.

BF's mom fully recovered from respiratory distress a couple of weeks ago. Appears normal, but more of a mental decline in short term memory, and being "nasty" to daughter almost all of the time.

Barb, thanks in advance for the info. Hope your dad decides to keep the carer, and that all goes well for her and your mom today.

Sunny, what a nice gift! That should be fun!!! Where to and for how long? Glad your GS is still playing chess, and that the meds are helping.

Well, we have had a few days here and there with sunshine, but this weekend as well as next, so far. are rainy all weekend.

Will try to join you ladies for libations later on. Thanks for the red reminder! Changing now! Hugs to all.

Friday – Yesterday was another challenging day w/Mom. She just has major meltdowns and there is no way to deal with it. I called the Dr. and we discussed getting Mom on a new med, and I will pick it up tomorrow. I hope this helps.

Mom’s carer will be here shortly. PRAYING that it works out. She’s an angel for sure; Mom just has a bad attitude about needing assistance.

Otherwise, all I can say is TGIF!

Sharon: Yes, Namenda is a newer medication for Alzheimer’s @ the moderate to severe stages. Mom is definitely in severe. **SIGH** Give me a minute and I’ll soot you a web site that tells about Namenda.

Kelly: OH DANG! Sorry to hear about the sinus and cold troubles. **SIGH** Yeah, Tylenol and alcohol don’t mis.

This 4 ft. 10.5 in. package is standing her ground. That’s non-negotiable. Having the carer is the only way that any shred of sanity is being maintained and there HAS to be a back-up plan for emergencies for someone to be here w/Mom. So, going to stand my ground. And I’ve had my belly full of incompetent carers or agencies or the combo, so not going to lose this.

Yup . . . Friday . . . RED!

Sunny: Yup . . . for sure the day is fast approaching when Dad and I are not going to be able to care for Mom, but in the meantime, gotta have help!

OMG . . . . color me jealous about going on a cruise! Can I chaperone!?? That’s how Jason and I met . . . on a cruise! No finer way to relax. That’s a guarantee!

HUGS ladies.

See y'all @ 3 . . . guaranteed!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Oh Kelly, I am so sorry. Hope you feel better today. BTW, what is a "plain hot toddy"? When I was sick, our son bought me some Maker's Mark for my hot toddy's. Wow - what a smooth bourbon. Yes, Kelly, William is still playing Chess. He has not participated in any tournaments recently. His grades have not been good enough but he is working hard and they are coming up. He just recently had a seizure which was a bummer as he had not had one for some time. Doc increased his medication which is helping.

Barb, I am so glad you stood your ground on the Care taker. You are so right that someday you and Dad are not going to be able to do it all and having someone you can depend on is worth a million.

Our DIL booked us for a Cruise for December 2017. It is our 50th anniversary this year so we will celebrate by heading out to sea. We have never been on a cruise but looking forward to it. I have to head over to Carnival today and set up my account. What fun!

I am off to work on those guest rooms. Do have a Fab Friday. It's rainy and cold here too, Kelly. Ugh....

Hugs, Sunny

Morning, well the spring cold that I managed to avoid for a year or two has reared its ugly side...it started in my sinus' now it is headed into my chest. Good news was, I climbed into bed last night and actually slept for 5 straight hours and that was without meds. Lots of honey, plain hot toddy, etc. I meant to make a libation toddy but took tylenol then realized not a good idea.

Sharon, your link doesn't work even if copied and pasted. I went to two message boards and offered my two cents. Did you start a thread? I meant to write down a remark to something one of the coaches said and got side tracked then couldn't find it. Essentially, we are commodities to make the almighty dollar for them so I would say the ads are coming. We are welcome to move along if we don't like it. There are lots of complaints resurfacing about the blog ads, especially the scrolling ones. I just told them they have taken our individuality off the table with this mindless copy cat (not exactly in those words). I didn't look for a response. Thank goodness for adblocker, but they are relentless, how long will it be before they figure out a way to override that? I don't know if it is just mine, there is a small banner add covering most of our team picture. It started before I left for TX.

When is your son moving in? How is your friends Mom? And how are you feeling?

Barb, stand your ground with keeping that carer. It's hard to override your parents but sometimes it has to be done. All I can offer is a big ole hug and a libation...

Good to see you too Sunny and that you are getting out more. Oh I thought of your grandson the other day, two gents were playing chess at the riverwalk, is he still into that?

Well, will be wearing my RED today, although likely covered with a rain jacket - lots of wet stuff falling from the sky today. 3 o'clock will be later in the day for me. Meanwhile, have a great day, check in later.

Kelly

Welcome home Kelly. Hope you had fun and ate some good 'que and tex- Mex.

Barb so sore, and I'll be praying that the Namenda helps. Is that for dementia, and can you tell me more? Asking re my BF's mom. I'm not sure what she's on.

Sunny I'm happy you're back with us on a more regular basis!

Long day today. Got home 5 minutes before DH. Stopped by "the kid's house" emoticon on the way home, just to check and make sure all was well. It's a little over a 5 minute drive from where my BF's mom is, and on the way home. Adjusted blinds so no one can see in. Then went and bought timers, and LED bulbs. Will try to program the timers tomorrow.
Make sure to go to the community message " site technical help" board to give your feedback on the page changes. That's the only way it will get changed.

Sunny: Definitely not fond of the changes. *SIGH** But they keep rolling in don't they!

Thursday – Had to talk again w/Dad. He wants to dismiss the carer. She is an angel. I told Dad, there is going to be a time when Mom requires more and more help and WE CAN’T DO IT ALL. When that time approaches, that is NOT the time to begin from scratch . . . again . . . to find a competent carer. Just NOT the time. So I insist that we see how Mom does on Friday. If she reacts badly, then we’ll talk about it. But I am NOT going to let a great carer go w/o a fight. **SIGH**

Feel like I should have a bucket of spackle on me at all time to repair wall holes from head banging! ARGH! This truly is difficult. **SIGH** And honestly, on a little bit of a selfish note, it makes me think of what MY future may be too. BUT, if there’s one thing SP has taught me, that’s to SNAP OUT OF IT and live in the moment. So that’s what I’m doing. And taking good care of me to the best of my abilities!

Got out for a walk and feel a little more clear-headed.

I pray the Namenda helps, too. I know it won't reverse things, but hope it would make things a little more manageable.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

Kelly and Sharon: Hope you're behavin'!

See y'all at 3!

Barb, I hope the Namenda helps.

I don't care for the new changes either. Trying to post can be delayed for loading of all the advertisements. Ugh....

I didn't get here yesterday. No internet as my provider is upgrading and it caused a glitch until late afternoon and by then, we were headed out to church for Chuppers and Bible Study.

Sharon, keep using that heating pad if it helps. I alternate between heat and ice. Ice reduces the inflammation and heat just makes me feel better.

Kelly, I do have some weight to get rid of and hoping that the rehab gets me started in the right direction. I am cleaning in the guest rooms today as Our DIL and DGD will be here next weekend. I am so looking forward to their visit.

Take care, team, and do have a Terrific Thursday. I am off and into the guest rooms.

Love you all and appreciate so much all of your support these past months.

Hugs, Sunny

Yes, I was just shocked. Was sparking early this morning. Had some problems (have had for the last 3 days) so that was a clue that something was changing. All of a sudden my home page popped and changed. LORD! they're making it look more like Facebook.

Take it easy! HUGS

Sparkers in the tower have lost their minds...again. Geez. Who is betting it won't be long before the backdrop they made into a banner is filled with ads down both sides? I'll head over tomorrow Sharon. And take care of that achey stuff, drive safely.

I think you may have something there Barb, our bods get very used to a med I hope he is willing to give it a try too. It's not about what your Dad wants at this point, sorry Dad but, she does well with your Mom more importantly you need a break, just as he does.

Happy to hear you will be getting some inhalation therapy Sunny. And now that I have eaten my way through two cities in Texas I will be working along side you with making our Doc's give us happy faces!

It is like winter here!!! Where'd the sun go? It was 60 today. Geez. I'm going to call it for tonight will check back tomorrow. Hugs to all of you.

Well I have a call into the Dr. to discuss getting Mom on Namenda. she had been on Aricept a long time ago and it didn't agree w/her. I talked about it w/Dad and just feel it's worth a try.

NO WAY IN HECK am I giving up that carer! NO WAY.

No like either!

Jason is doing well. Vision 100%. PHEW

Mom -- ROTTEN morning. Dad wants to dismiss the carer. NONONONONONONO Mom goes thru this -- then she'll like the carer to death. So, I just told him plain and simple, see how she reacts on Friday. But WE BOTH NEED A BREAK. So if she wants to be miserable while the carer is here, so be it. She is an objective set of eyes to watch over Mom and WE NEED THE BREAK. GRRRrrr. He got the msg.

Quick check in. First off, I am not at all pleased with the "new and improved" Facebook look to our Spark pages. I would be willing to bet a paycheck that with this new format, they have installed the same "social tracking mechanisms" behind the scenes that Facebook uses.

I have already given my 4 cents worth on both message boards. Please go over and make your voice heard too. We got them to stop that ridiculous ad stuff last time that was basically doing the same thing. Now they're managing to be more covert about it, and give it a prettier disguise.

Barb, hope all goes well for you and Mom today. How's Jason doing? Hope all is well.

Kelly, hope you are having some fun in your absence.

Sunny, hope all is well with you and good luck with the rehab appts.

Pain in shoulder and triceps came back in bed again last night. . . Slept OK - not great. Will be off at crack of dawn tomorrow to mom-sit for my BF. Will check in later.

Wednesday – mild weather and the sun was out, so got Mom and Dad out. Dad wanted to go to Aldi’s so that’s where we went. Mom did pretty well w/the walking.

Very confused last night, but was still in a positive mood, so grateful for that!

Got my walk in again this morning. Love the earlier sunrises as I am always treated to such a beautiful sunrise most mornings.

Sharon: I am glad you got a good night sleep. Makes all the difference!

Sunny: Hope the pulmonary rehab helps you once and for all!

You guys are the best. Feeling the love and support. emoticon

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y'all @ 3 pm. Don't know what the libation will be, but definitely SOMETHING!

Sorry for the late check-in. Barb I join sunny and Kelly in the chocolate martini and hugs. I already started the prayers. I am glad your Dad is in agreement on the safety issue. My heart is sad for you too. We're all here to give you long distance support, and to help in any way we can.

Sunny good to see you here again. I know you can do what you need to do to get well.
We,lol be cheering emoticon You on, too,

Slept better last night, so today is better. Still on the heating pad, and it seems to be helping - fingers crossed!

Sunny: Yeah, the heart is heavy, but actually feel a bit of relief that the idea is out there and Dad has to think about it but the admonition is that the safety issue is paramount.

Barb, my heart is just breaking for you. I have been reading and trying to get caught up with the posts. Praying it all goes well. Praying your Dad is receptive to the idea of the facility close by. I am giving a strong second on the Chocolate Martini. Know that I will be praying for you as you and your family try to come to a decision.

Sharon, hope you got some rest. Bless your heart! I hate it when I can't sleep and am completely worthless the next day.

Kelly, how are things your way?

I will try to do better about checking in. I have been trying to get ready for company at the end of the month. Our DIL and DGD will be here. Also, I will be starting Pulmonary Rehab on the 24th - 3 days a week for 12 weeks. Doc said I need to loose 25#'s. Ugh! I know I can do it, I just need to quit thinking "comfort food".

We did make it to Church on Sunday. Take care team and I hope to see you all tomorrow.

Huggers, Sunny

Tuesday – got a good walk in this morning before the day started. Helps so much.

Mom had settled down a little bit in the morning but was agitated (nothing like her Sunday night meltdown) but Dad and I managed to get her calmed petting Mr. Spot. Thank goodness for that little fur baby. I think they intuitively know when someone needs their comfort because he stuck by her side. Blessings to my little man

Kelly: Thank you! Yes, the chocolate martini and hugs helped . . . immeasurably.

I have talked to Dad briefly about the facility 5 min. from here. It really is nice. HE has to look @ his finances. But I can't imagine it is much more expensive than the in-home care we have right now. BUT the agreement is the second (not even the minute) that things become unsafe for any of us we have to do this.

Brother unit -- ah yes. Still not a clue of what her meltdowns are like but after talking w/him by phone he is in agreement and we'll talk w/Dad together this weekend. God, I need strength!!!

Sharon and Sunny: Hope you're on the mend . . . both of you

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

3 pm . . . Yup . . . I'll be there.

Hey All! All went well with house and closing! They looked so happy. Got to have a quick lunch and then back to airport. Hared to believe they will be in their new house very soon!

So very sorry to read about your mom, Barb. Seems like both are in some sort of decline, and that is so sad, and I know so hard for you to watch. I hope your brother will give you the support you need on this one in a united front and carry the ball for you. Is your brother close enough to come and have a family pow wow face to face?
Will keep you in my prayers for the solution that you need.

Kelly and Sunny, hope all is well with both of you.

Off to the recliner and heating pad once again. All the heat did help from yesterday, but getting sore from driving and sitting at the computer.

Love to you all!

Monday - nice day but Mom had a huge meltdown last night. Honestly, my heart is breaking, because we really have to consider what the next step is going to be. Waiting to talk w/my brother early this morning.

At least I got a good walk in this morning. The sun is up and it’s going to be a nice day.

Jeanine, the carer, is here this morning pretty quick, and I pray at least that gives a little respite this morning.

*******

Really sad. Last night Mom just was totally out of it and combative. Almost clipped me and Dad, **SIGH** Slightly better this morning in that she's calmer, but uncooperative.

Talked w/dad about what the next step is that he wants for Mom. His suggestion? Move back to their condo and get a carer there. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. Took every shred of self-composure not to explode. Just explained to him that would just put them both at risk. NO WAY IN HECK he could navigate those stairs anymore and Mom CERTAINLY could not. NO WAY. "I could have food delivered." Dad -- That's just the tip of the iceberg. What about Drs. appointments? (Realistically I see him losing his license next month, and I think he does too. So, what will happen then!)

Still waiting for my brother to call back and talk about things.

HUGS and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

Cannot WAIT for 3 pm. I AM having something chocolate. Chocolate martini? Whatevah!

Well yesterday was short lived. Didn't sleep well - was around 3 when I last looked at the clock. Between the neck and shoulder pain, and getting up 3 times during the night to "p" like a horse, I got about 4 hours of sleep. Felt good till I got on the computer to spark last night. Been on heating pad all day so far. Trying to stay away from the Motrin.

Barb sorry to hear about Mom today. Hope you have a good nap.

Kelly, glad you are having some fun.

Sunny hope you and DH made it to church.

Back to the heating pad I go. Playing chauffeur tomorrow for son and DIL. They are flying in for final inspection and closing on house. It will be a very busy day for all of us. They are catching the first flight of the day so we'll all be up at the butt crack of dawn.

Quick drive by before bed. Good day today. Made it through without heating pad or Motrin. I felt the best today that I have in 2 weeks. I hope I am over the hump and on the mend for good. As I've been sitting here for the last 25 to 20 minutes pain creeping back in to neck and upper shoulder area so I'll make it short.

Barb, glad all went well for you today - you deserve some more of these in a row!

Kelly, hope all is going well and you are enjoying the visit. Any new liquid concoctions we should know about?

Sunny, hope you are feeling better and enjoying your weekend.

emoticon to all.

Friday – Well, another not-so-good day for mom, but she did “snap out of it” a little quicker. Just had to sit w/her and listen. Good thing no appointments yesterday.

Today her carer is here from 7:30 till 12:30 pm as I have to take Dad for his dental impressions and that could take awhile. HOPE that it works w/the carer.

Otherwise, am VERY glad it’s Friday.

Sharon: Oh no on the tricep pain . . . . hope it’s better today!

LORD HAVE MERCY . . . . you KNOW things are REALLY REALLY REALLY bad when you look forward to the squish-o-gram. **SIGH**

Mom did well this moring, thankfully, while I took Dad for his appointment. YES Dad is wanting to drive. Bill and I talked w/Dad. He is NOT going to surrender those keys willingly but DID get him to promise that he would only drive locally. That means no more than a 1 mile radius. He was agreeable to that. Anyhow, then the plan is that should anything else happen in the time between now and when he has to renew his drivers license (which I can’t imagine on what planet or in what planetary system that would happen, honestly) that’s it; the keys have to be surrendered. He agreed to that. Honestly, his license has to be renewed next month, so I seriously doubt that will happen. Bill agreed. Sooooo . . . have to play the waiting game. GIVE ME STRENGTH!

Mom actually asked for a LIT and I AM DOING IT!! Yup . . . today… I am doing it.

Kelly: Holy smokes – an hr. to get thru TAS. Sheesh!

Glad the trip went well.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y'all @ 3 pm. LIT TIME!

I hope things go better for your mom today. I agree, you should have sumthin like a LIT! Geez they wonder why patients get impatient, hope Dad is in a better mood today too.

How are you today Sharon?

Well Sunny I need to join you in that journey with the scale. We'll do this together. Walking down hallway, see someone coming toward me, then I realized it was me in a mirror! Did no t like what I saw, looked like a much older hag.

Trip in was uneventful, but for a non holiday - over an hour getting through TSA. Crazy. Nice here humidity is okay. Can't believe I didn't throw my RED shirt in oh well it's in my heart. Kyle posted some of yesterday's ceremonies for that SEAL that was killed.somber for sure.

Will try to check in later!

Quick drive by before bed. Having pain in left tricep that's radiating down the arm to the elbow.
Kelly, safe travels. . .
Sunny, glad you are feeling better enough to exercise. Don't forget-the drs were the ones who told you to stop doing so you could build up your resistance and strength. Doesn't it just kill you? The vicious circle . . .

Barb, sorry to hear that tings are postponed again for your dad. Stuff will get done - I know this is easier said than done, but try not to let it get to you. Your mammogram will get done - maybe a little late, but it will get done. Besides, I can't believe you are too eager to go to that appointment! emoticon

Hope things go better tomorrow with your mom. Is dad still wanting to drive? How's that whole scenario playing out? I think it's time to join your mom in some LITs!

Sleep well, and see you all tomorrow.

How frustrating, Barb. Bless your heart. So glad Mom settled down. I honestly do not know how you do it all. You are definitely my SHERO!!

I went for my PFT and while the #'s were slightly better, doc as more concerned about the weight I have put on the past year and a half. He has now set a goal of me loosing 12#'s in the next 6 months and 12 more by next May. He feels (and he is right) the weight is not helping. He said the additional weight I am carrying around my middle is causing problems with my breathing. ugh....

Now, I know I can do it so starting today (why wait). I am off to the bike. I have a new book and reading always makes it go faster.

I will check in later.

Love you all, Sunny

Update: Seriously! Can't make this stuff up!

NOW the surgery had to be postponed till 17 June so both Drs. would be available. Just shoot me now. I have my physical, too, and a mammogram which has to be scheduled. AAAACCCCKKKK!

WTH! I was told that 03 June would work fine for both! GRRRrrr. Dad is not a happy camper, but can't do anything about it! **SIGH**

Kelly: (((HUGS))))) Travel safely, dear Kelly!

Sharon and Sunny: Hope you're feeling better today!

Thursday – Well yesterday was an epic fail with Mom. She wouldn’t get out of bed until I got home w/Dad after his appointment and convinced her she had to eat and just wash up. She did. PHEW.

Otherwise, Jason’s post op appointment went well. All is a-ok.

Closer to getting Dad’s extractions scheduled, FINALLY. Tentatively set up for 03 June w/the oral surgeon, but now have to coordinate w/the dentist for placement of the appliances after extraction. UGH I will be glad when this is all in the past!

Well, onward.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y'all @ 3 pm.

Let's just say it was NOT a good morning. **SIGH** But she did settle down. There really is very little that calms her down consistently, so have to keep trying the items on the list. Music -- didn't work; TV -- didn't work; warm coffee -- didn't work; sitting w/her -- didn't work. *SIGH* Then she just snapped out of it. Difficult!

Hope your muscles simmer down! HUGS

Barb, so sorry to hear about your mom this AM. Have you noticed anything that can calm her quickly? I hope things will "go with the flow" for you on Friday. Yeah, DH had all that work done this last time, but he's not on Coumadin - thank God! I just realized, I need to remind him to make the appointment for getting the bridge installed.

Kelly, I think I must have sprained or badly bruised all of those muscles. I am beginning to think I must have hyper-extended my neck on the way down, as those neck and shoulder muscles on the left side keep firing up whenever I try to use them. I am thinking massage, but will let the healing progress a little bit more before I do. I helped by BF hang a couple of large pictures yesterday, and that set everything off again. Woke up with shoulder pain at 6:00 this AM and couldn't go back to sleep.

Hope you all are escaping the storms. We have had rain for almost the last 3 weeks straight. Only a couple of days of sunshine here and there.

Off to put some heat on again. Hope you all have a good evening.

Wednesday – Again, have to move @ warp speed. Mom’s carer comes tomorrow @ 7:30 am. Jason has his post op check up @ 8 am. Then home to get Dad to the Dr. for his blood draw. Depending on the lab results, the Dr. will tell him how long to be off the Coumadin. THAT will then be used by the oral surgeon to determine when his surgery can be done. It can’t be done till at least June 1st, though, because the denture and bridge need to be done prior to the extractions. OY

Then hope to breathe!

Jason is feeling good, so very happy for that. Post op check went well.

Mom was extremely obstinant this morning, so things did not go well with the carer. **SIGH** Hoping they go a heck-of-a-lot-better on Friday when I have to get Dad to the dentist.

UGH. I am worn out!

Kelly: LOL! Isn't Mom ALWAYS blamed for everything!!!! LOLOL

We had our libation. She wanted a LIT. If **I** would have had one I would be flat on my kiester, guaranteed. Was cold, so had coffee w/Kahlua. Warmed me up.

Mr. Spot wanted to partake of my coffee! Little scamp. Once in a while he'll lap some coffee from my mug. Thinks I don't see him. He freezes in place when he does see me! Little boy knows what he likes.

Glad the a/c check went well. Yes, having the air ducts cleaned really helps the dust and "crapola" on the furniture!

Stay healthy Sunny! Happy Dancin' that you are feeling better and getting out. No relapses allowed now. How are you all doing with those storms, kept missing the track on them (could check out the National Weather Service but I'll ask you instead). There's some serious stuff to the north of us and another round of tstorms are expected here but we should miss the worst of it.

How are you feeling Sharon? Maybe a massage will help you? Or maybe your bod is just telling you it wants a rest?

Sorry your Dad has to wait it out for a blood test but guess it is best to make sure how many days off. That is great hubs did so well with his eye, even with the lack of sleep. And yes, you certainly have earned that libation. You tickle me Barb, "blame" your Mom. Can I blame her too? I've got to run an errand or I'd be joining you all right now. At the moment, having the yearly look see for the air conditioner. Oh goodie, all looks good even the monster filter in the main unit can wait til fall to replace. I tell you, having the ducts cleaned two summers ago was the best investment. The filter stays good longer, not as much dust or schmutz on the furniture. I'm not leaving until Thursday.

Hugs everyone!

Good Morning, Team.

Feeling better and was so happy to be able to get back to church on Sunday. In the afternoon, we loved having the boys here for Mother's Day while missing our Son in Wichita.

Our DIL will be here tomorrow as her Dad's younger bother passed away. Not sure we will see her as she will be in tomorrow and head home Thursday after the Funeral. Quick trip but glad she still gets to come.

Praying for Jason that all goes well.

Keep us posted on your Dad's oral surgery, Barb.

Today, headed into town for haircuts and will be treated to Subway on the way. Yea!

Take care and have a Terrific Tuesday.

Tuesday – still not date for Dad’s oral surgery after the consult. He’s on Coumadin, so have to get a blood test done and fax the results to the oral surgeon. Then depending on the results, he’ll be off the Coumadin for 3-5 days, then have the surgery.

My brother came to stay with Mom while Dad and I went for his consult. Hmmmm . . . again, TIRED. All righty then!

Off to the hospital for surgery #2 for Jason. TIRED. ‘Nuff said on THAT one,

Will update later.

Sharon: Carer got off to a rocky start (Mom was in a not-so-good mood), but between the 2 of us, we got her settled down, then it smoothed out.

Hope that pain is lessened today! Glad that the heat helps.

Kelly and Sunny: HOpe you're behaving! LOL

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, friends and country.

Hi. Glad Jason got off OK today. Hope the carer worked out too. Good luck with your dad's consultation. I know this is a busy week for you, Barb.

Kelly hope you had a nice day. When are you heading out?

Sunny hope you and DH are on the mend for good. Hope you got to spend time with Joshua yesterday.

Muscles are getting better, although a flare- up again late this afternoon. Still sitting with heating pad on for the last few hours - 20 minutes on, and then 20 minutes off. Haven't taken anything for pain. Feel pretty good in the morning, but then as day wears on, pain creeps in.

Lots of love, and sleep tight.

Monday – not much sparking today. Jason left @ 4 am (after we got up @ 3 am!) for the airport. Carer here @ 7:30 am so got a walk in. Hurray!

At least yesterday was a bit relaxing. IF you call mowing the lawn relaxing! But I’d made short ribs in the crock pot, so no fuss cooking yesterday. AND left overs.

Otherwise, not much sparking today.

Kelly: Good day. A little chillaxing. PHEW.

Morning Ladies! Hope your Mother's Day treated you well, better yet, you treated yourselves very well. Take the week for yourselves while you're at it. Yeah, right.

Safe travels for Jason, and of course easy peasey again tomorrow. Ditto on your Dad's appointment today.

How are your muskles Sharon, getting better?

Are you able to take down the medvac tent at your place Sunny?

A new week, take time for yourselves...it's okay to do that. Now if there were just a button that would make it happen. See youse guys at 3! Likely for seltzer, going to save my drinking calories for Texas.

Hugs and extra Prayers for our brave warriors, their families and our Country.

Sunday – Happy Mother’s Day!

Took Mom and Dad out for supper yesterday as we figured that would be better for Mom than dealing w/the crowds tomorrow.

Gorgeous sunny day, so for that I am glad.

Hope you all have a wonderful day. It’ll be an early night tonight as Jason leaves for Albany NY in the wee hrs. of the morning better known as the butt crack of dawn.) **SIGH**

Sharon: HUGS to you. Hope you got the sleep you need. Hope you feel better today.

Kelly: Hope you get thru your busy week, too!

Yup . . . erecting that medivac tent w/a shield of protection. NO MORE HEALTH DISASTERS ALLOWED.

Happy Mother's Day...I have nothing profound to share, just best wishes and prayers to all of you awesome women!

I think we all need a recovery medvac tent to help us party through our ailments.
How are you this morning Sharon? Hope your friend's suggestions helped. Now if we could just get her more me time.

Happy to hear you were able to get your Mom out Barb.

Sunny continued recovery, as Sharon said...no relapses please. You two need to get off that danged merry go round.

Drove by yesterday but this thing locked up instead of posting and I didn't realize it.

We started out with a chilly morning and the clouds blew away, what a wonderful day to have a State Trooper Motorcycle Rodeo and get a mega dose of vitaD! All that standing and walking I thought for sure my knee would be toast but arnica, ice and elevation (even a short power nap) I was just warmed over. Lucky me! I've been babying it for awhile and after having a busy other day I thought well, I'd better make sure I can get through Saturday and three airports and party next week, better ramp up whatever I can. Yesterday was a true test, a little stiff this morning but feels better than it has since I hyperextended it last month. Still, I am going to break down and see Ortho about it when I get back from Texas.

Meanwhile, have sumthin' at 3 and we'll take a moment to pray for our brave soldiers and their families.

Still doing stretching to try to get my body to relax. Getting somewhat better - pain did not kick in until early evening, and just took first Aleve to help with sleep. Slept 10 hours last night. Didn't get to spend time with BF - stayed with her mom most of the day yesterday.

Heading to bed - doing minimum sparking. Love you guys! Hugs to you Barb, and sending you extra energy for this coming week!

Sharon: That wonderful you got to be w/your BF.

As for the double-barreled hat w/2 resevoirs and 2 straws . . . UH HUH. That'll be in order to get thru next week. **SIHG**

Relax. Feel better!

Hey all. I'm here, but still very sore. Sitting up in hard chair all day as I went to stay with BF's mom. Just got home. I asked my BF about it. She said it's muscular, and gave me a couple of things to do.

Sunny, glad you and DH are feeling better. Just be careful not to overdo it, or you could have a rebound.

Barb, I'm sending you one of those hats with the 2 reservoirs with straws coming out of them. I think you are going to need a good supply of sumthin sumthin!

Kelly good luck with your rally, supposed to clear up tomorrow so maybe you'll have nice weather.

I need to let myself go and relax in the recliner. That is the place that is most comfortable now.

Sunny: So glad you're feeling better! Rich, too. Hmmm . . . DH's . . . they never listen. **SIGH**

Jas has his right eye cataract removal. Yes, I feel it's cutting it close, but hey, what can I say. **SIGH** See note re: DH's not listening!!

Hope the tech snows up. Finally had our contractor here to do some outside work. Glad to have it off the list.

Hi everyone.

Finally feeling half way human today - YEA! Rich even felt good enough to mow. I wanted him to ask Josh to do it tomorrow but he wasn't listening to me. Ugh!!

Hope Mr. Spot is on his way to recovery too.

What kind of surgery is Jason having now? That will be cutting it short. I love the Albany area and it is a great time of the year to be there. Hope he can enjoy being there on top of working.

Waiting on the AC Tech to come with our new AC. Good idea to get this done before it gets too hot and it won't be long, for sure!

I will check in tomorrow but for now, I am off to check on Rich.

Love you all and appreciate your well wishes! We will get there!!

Hugs, Sunny

Friday – beautiful day weatherwise. Got an outside walk in and that’s a good thing.

Mom had a horrid morning. Calmed down by the afternoon. Had a Dr. appt. @ 2 pm and one of her meds was changed. I think that will help, hopefully.

Otherwise spent a good deal of time on the phone trying to coordinate Dad’s oral surgery. First he has to have the consult. That’s 09 May, and then have an impression made so the upper plate can be made. Making the plate takes 2 weeks. So, since he wants the plate in immediately after extraction, the surgery has to be coordinated w/the arrival of the plate, so the dentist can put the plate in. I hope all this is done by mid-June. **SIGH**

Oh, and did I mention Jason is going to Albany NY on Monday morning. Butt crack of dawn flight. Arriving home late (10:30 pm). Uh huh . . . surgery is the next day. Good lord in heaven! What can I say. Certainly not ideal by any stretch of the imagination.

Mr. Spot still goes into his bucking bronco impersonation to try to get that cone off. Poor boy. Not happy with it at all . . . still. Don’t blame him!

At least it’s Friday!

Kelly: That’s absolutely the same feeling I had . . . DADDY telling ME about the car boo-boo. **SIGH** He will take the car to the dealership (which is only 10 minutes away) while I stay w/Mom. Then he’ll get a ride back from the dealership. In the meantime my BROTHER should be here, cuz Tuesday I have to get Jason to hospital by 8:45 am. OMG, I think I need a drink to get thru next week, but taking it a day at a time.

Sharon and Sunny: Ditto Kelly’s question – hope you’re both out of the medic’s tent! Sharon – your DH too.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers (and yes, esp. those stuck as advisors in Iran), families and our country.

Sharon and Sunny, are you moving out of the medics tent yet? Hope all is better.

Oh my, Daddy having to tell his daughter he gave his car a boo boo. Shades of years gone by when the shoe was on the other foot. You are better than I would have been, I'm sorry but your car has to wait a few days longer, but then the car is there. Usually the dealer has a "shuttle", or is that a thing of the past too?

Our Farmers Market opens today, it will be windy but as long as the sun is out, it'll be okay. So will be having something hot at 3, maybe just take my thermos with me.

Chilly here too, just crazy in the 40's and not much warmer during the day. Wind yesterday would cut right through you, especially when you're outside and not enough layers on (had no idea it was so windy). I'm working a motorcycle road rally for the Highway Patrol tomorrow morning, I hope the wind dies down.

Give me a break!!! Some cities objected to Cinco de Mayo DUI check points yesterday, it's insulting to the illegals errr Mexicans, and they didn't do it! Heard a stat that there is more drinking and driving on that day than any other celebration day, even the super bowl. Who knew? I picked up a bottle of premade margarita, actually this was a sparkling mix. Not bad, something different I guess like a spritzer but not sure I'd buy it again. It was marked way down so I guess others felt that way too, likely will end up tossing it.

Hugs and Prayers, especially for our brave soldiers that are stuck in Iran as advisors.

Thursday – cool and gray yesterday, but still able to get outdoors. Hurray! Had my dental visit and it went well. NOW to get Dad to his oral surgery consult on Monday so he can get those teeth extracted and move on.

Maybe . . . time . . . to . . . breathe today!

It is going to be interesting w/Dad and driving. **SIGH** Back in January Dad had decided that he wasn’t going to sell the car yet. Thought it wasn’t going to work and I was right, because as soon as the weather got nicer here, he is back to driving – but not long distances. Soooo…. I am not sure how it will go (besides probably not good). He wasn’t even going to tell me about it, but then the topic of “. . . having to get an estimate to get the car fixed up” came up. Oh really? What is wrong with the car??? That’s when he ‘fessed up (besides Mom was ready to spill the beans. Gotta love it . . . she can’t remember anything but THAT she remembered. Oh well). THEN he tells me he has to drop the car off on Tuesday, 10 May. Geez, why does that date sound familiar??? Oh yeah, because Jason has surgery that day!!! GRRrrr. Who will stay w/Mom? So had to make arrangements w/Clara to stay w/Mom till Dad gets back (he has to make arrangements to get a ride back from the dealership because we’ll already be @ the hospital. What . . . a . . . mess.

So that’s how that all went. **SIGH** When my brother comes we are definitely going to have “the talk” together. At least Dad won’t have the car – it’ll be @ the dealership.

Sharon: NO LAUGHING! LORD, glad you weren’t more hurt! Take care of yourself!

Gotta agree – good idea to get checked out.

Kelly: Mr. Spot will get used to the cone in roughly 4 more days . . . the length of time he has left to wear it! LOL **SIGH**

Well, Monday will be a challenge but already have my 6 ft. 3 brother ingrained that he WILL participate or . . . he’ll . . . see . . . the . . . wrath . . . of . . . 4 ft. 20.5 in me! Nope . . . that would NOT be a good thing. Anyhow we won’t go there. He is on board. That’s a GOOD thing.

Sunny: Yohoo! Hope you’re doing all right!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families, and our country.

DEFINITELY will be there @ 3 pm.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Sharon!!! Glad you had a great time BUT I hope you have an appointment today to have that checked. That's quite an owie you gave yourself, but follow your own advice you give to us - get thyself checked out. Meanwhile, healing hugs coming your way. Okay I can laugh at you, sure I told you I was laying in bed rolled over to get up and kept on rolling to the floor. Lucky me it isn't concrete but man I knew about it for a few days.

Bronco Spot...let that cone become your friend and fashion accessory!

I'm sure your Dad in the back of his mind knows what is coming when your brother comes. Time was, you go see the specialist and have it done then. I don't envy you.

Hugs and Prayers, our great Nation needs it. See ya at 3!

Quick drive by as I'm in pain as I type this. OK, don't laugh - somehow I fell out of bed Sunday night - totally sound asleep - onto the concrete floor of our hotel room. Don't know how long I was there, but it was bizarre! Hurts in my shoulder and left upper back, back if left arm, and neck. Dull ache, fells like tears in lat muscle, some shooting pains down left arm once in a while, and sore neck/trapezius. Most comfortable place is sitting in the recliner. So I am doing minimum. Got back yesterday. Wedding was beautiful and time with family was fun.
Taking 1 alive every 8 hours for pain, but not helping much. Got to go for now. emoticon

Kelly: **SIGH** I had the discussion w/Dad once before and at that point he did not surrender the keys but had made the choice not to drive anymore. That was in the dead of winter. NOW that the weather is nice, it's a different tune. But . . . when my brother comes up it's going to be discussed.

Mr. Spot has a shorter, clear collar. Like a bucking bronco sometimes trying to get it off, but alas, has to have it so he doesn't scratch his poor eye.

OMG, 3 pm cannot come soon enough.

Oh, my dental re-check was fine (phew). Now have to deal w/Dad's oral surgery consult on 5-09. I don't think Dad realizes that he's not going to have the extractions on that day. He is on Coumadin, so has to be off a minimum of 5 days prior to the extractions.

So, that's it from here. That's enough!!

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Oh my, that is a huge dread. Double Sigh. He's going to ask for extra points because he was backing into a spot. My backing up skills aren't at the best anymore either, worse for parallel parking HA

Is Mr. Spot in a short clear collar or one of those softer ones? I've heard they do better in those, especially the clear ones so they can see what's around them. I think any of us would have to get used to some strange contraption around us. Hang in there pup.

Good luck at the Dentist. Is it 3 yet????

Wednesday - Dr. said Mr. Spot went well thru the procedure. Had 2 areas (starting to merge into one) that were malignant by nature (in other words – not normal) but he felt they were benign. Has them off for biopsy. Kind of like a brain tumor. Brain tumors can be malignant for the fact that they are not something normal anatomically in the brain, but NOT cancerous. So we’ll wait to hear. He has a check in one month. Hallelujah. He slept most of the night. Not a happy camper w/the cone of shame, though.

Meanwhile, back @ the ranch, I am off to my re-re-check @ the dentist. **SIGH**

OH, and Dad had an altercation yesterday with a light pole @ a store. Back into it. **SIGH** I am glad it was nothing worse, but hmmmmm . . . that dreaded taking the keys away is knocking @ the door.

Kelly: Mr. Spot had a pretty restless night. But he's fighting the Elizabethan collar tooth and nail, and that's a major part of it. Today he's better. His pain med is keeping him comfortable and he's resting today. Got some of his spunk back. Taht's good to see.

Sharon and Sunny: Hope you're both behaving!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

Yup, I think it was Sharon who shared all her garlic with us. HaHa, self-respecting germs....

How's Mr. Spot this morning, hope he had a comfy night.

Really chilly over night, expecting possible hail later but right now the sun is out. Probably ought to grab some groceries and run some errands, first on the list - bubble wrap, both the small and large pop size. See all y'all at 3!

Yes, a certain someone (Sharon???) I think, gave us a recipe for 50 cloves of garlic chicken soup. I"ll tell you, no self-respecting germ would stay put with that in your system!

Yes, it was a little more than anticipated in that it was larger. But he took all the mass out and there was also some inflammation from the mass that he removed. Definitely looking for the darned bubble wrap.

For sure chicken soup and I saw something yesterday about the 50 cloves of garlic soup being good for you. However, I can imagine when your fever breaks does that also unclog your nose too? Hope the sun stayed out for you and the fever spike was short lived.

Barb, guess it is good that he had that surgery, was that more than what was suspected? Are they keeping him overnight, if not give him healing vibes and some bubblewrap. Ackkkkk.

Chilly today, not wet stuff and nothing of interest going on around here. Had some tea at 3 but thinking of having sumthin' when they drop the hockey puck, maybe the Preds will win one.

Hugs everyone. Hmmmm what kind of detour have you taken to get home?

Hugs and Prayers, especially for the SEAL KIA as an advisor in an ambush.

Good Morning, team. Up late as I didn't sleep as well last night. Ugh. Getting ready for a bite of lunch - Chicken Noodle Soup of course.

We are being very cautious and not overdoing. We both are not as short of breath so that is good. My fever is back today but have taken some medication.

Sun is shining here today but it did that yesterday too and then disappeared for the rest of the day. Hope it stays for the day.

Take care and do have a great Tuesday.

Off to eat. Love you all! Sunny

Monday – yesterday started out miserable – cold, rainy, dark. THEN late evening, the sun peeked out just for a bit. That was nice. Today, supposed to be much nicer. HOPE SO. Want to get Mom out for a walk.

Today they go to the podiatrist. That’s just a short trip and a short visit. So, that’s all good.

Dreading tomorrow. Mr. Spot has his eye surgery. Praying all goes well. It will be tough for him . . . AND his fur Mom and Dad!

Monday .. . . make it count!

Kelly: Yes, Mom enjoyed the libation! Requested it again today!

Yes, trying to mentally gear up for Spot’s surgery tomorrow. **SIGH** Feel so bad for him. But one day-at-a-time. Just praying that it all goes well.

Glad you didn’t have major storms yesterday.

Sunny: Yes, tears are indeed healing for body and soul. So glad your fever broke and you slept. That is healing, too – sleep1

Sharon: Thinking of you! Hope you’re having a good time (well, I know you are . . . just saying!)

Ok, see y’all @ 3. And we’re behaving. Hurray!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.
