Thursday – well hope for a low-key day. Got a walk in early this morning. That was nice! Needed it.

No Drs. appts., or dental appt. so that makes a good Thursday!

For You Kelly:

Barb, hope you and your mom are enjoying the new "dos".

Thiry, hope your back will begin to feel better again soon.

Sunny, hope you are well.

Not much new here. Had to go to the grocery store to restock our fridge. Looking through some recipes for the weekend, and came across this one. Thought it might be of interest to the rest of you with the season in "full swing": I made this a couple of times last summer and it was a big hit both times! DH loved it!

THE REALLY GOOD FOOD COOK BOOK
By Sandra Silver on November 19, 2001

Prep Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 6

"One of the easiest and BEST desserts! Twice the STRAWBERRY. Twice the TASTE. Untold numbers of raves!" Read the attached notes at the end for some very good suggestions. ENJOY!

1 pie crust, pre-baked
1 pint ripe strawberry
1 (3 ounce) packages strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup hot water
1 cup cold water
1/2 cup sugar
whipped cream

Pre-bake pie crust. Cool.

Slice the strawberries into the pie crust.

In a medium saucepan mix the package of jello with the cornstarch.

Add the water and the sugar.

Cook over medium heat until boiling.

Stir occasionally.

Pour the boiling mixture over the strawberries.

Place the pie in the refrigerator.

Chill for 3-4 hours until the jello glaze sets.

Serve with big dollops of whipped cream over the pie.

Notes from Reviewers: Don't use sugar, and only use 1 1/4 cup hot water. Use a qt of strawberries instead of just a pint.

I made a sugar free version using sugar free jello and 1/4 cup of splenda, it got rave reviews from both the diabetic and non diabetics! Thanks!

I used 1 1/4 cups of hot water but I also added 1/4 cup of bottled lemon juice. I heated it up and cooked only til translucent (only took a few minutes) it did not come to a rolling boil. I sliced up strawberries and quartered some so they fit in the pie shell more evenly. I also used another reviewer’s tip and poured the strawberries and gel into a glass bowl and let it cool in the bowl before pouring into the pie crust. Crispy pie crust, tangy sweet filling and topped with whipped cream DELICIOUS.

I don't like the 'fake' flavor of Jello, but found that if I added a splash of vanilla to the Jello it made the flavor richer. I also sprinkled the strawberries lightly with sugar and mixed it up before adding them to the pie. That seemed to take the edge off their tart flavor. Being in a hurry, I set the Jello-mix quickly by pouring it in a bowl that was then floated in ice water. Instead of waiting four hours for the Jello-mix to set, it set up in about 1/2 an hour. I thought it turned out nice for such a quick recipe.

BARB – Yes it was tiring for both of us. I kept falling asleep in the care while waiting for DH to finish the mowing. We both fell asleep earlier than usual last night.
KELLY – Thank you, no the kinks are not out of my back. I hurt a lot today. I took some 800 mg ibuprofen twice today and it barely touched the pain. I am not sure why my back started hurting so much yesterday but am so ready for it to get better. DH said he slept until noon today so I think he was a bit worn out after the weekend. Enjoy your time with family congrats to your grandson on his graduation.
SHARON – I really don’t know about purchasing Joy dishwashing liquid. I guess I didn’t even think about that when I pulled up the recipe. I wonder if any kind of dishwashing liquid would work.

Good day today although I had a hard time staying awake at work. I dropped my car off for repair this morning and got the rental. I will be so glad to get my car back. This car really rides rough and that isn’t good with my back hurting like it is today. After working both jobs today I came home and stretched out across the bed and had DH put some Bio freeze on my back. The only think I have really done since getting home is to hang a few clothes that were in the dryer and running another load.

Better get to sleep as DH has rehab in the morning and since I am the only one that can drive this car I have to be ready to go early in the AM.

Have a great week
Thiry

Well, we are back into our regular routine again at home. It was a wonderful visit, and as always, too short! I think we are both looking forward to "retirement" so we are not "confined" with limits. emoticon They are both growing and changing so fast. Kellan is becoming his own little guy, and what a vocal one.

Thanks for the bubble recipe Thiry. I haven't seen Joy dish-washing liquid in years! Can you still buy it?
Kelly, the bubbles were a big hit! Also playgrounds, being chased, play-dough, rolling a ball, kicking a ball, and drawing and coloring - but it is mostly scribbles, but they love it! Hope you have fun with them!

Barb, hope you get your computer soon!

Take care all. I just added a couple of new pictures in my photo gallery for you to see of Leah and Kellan .

Tuesday – back to work routine. Enjoyed just a relatively relaxing day. Needed that!

Weather wasn’t too cooperative till the late afternoon. We got out for a walk and that was wonderful.

Sharon: My laptop (an HP) has keyboard problems and hadn’t yet replaced it. Got a Dell from Costco which did NOT WORK! So returned it, that was the last one in the store, so ended up ordering on line. Should have it sometimes next week.

Quiet Memorial Day here too. Ugly start, but the sun came out and it was a nice afternoon.

Thiry: Sounds like a tiring trip!

Kelly Have a great time @ the graduation! Travel safely.

Thiry, hope all the kinks are outta your back this morning AND hubby is not so worn out today.

I know Sharon, quiet can be good but easily not missed. Looks like a long TDY assignment, hope it isn't too far from home. So a lot more spoiling to be done, love it.

I likely won't be on much over the next week, headed south for grandson's graduation on Saturday but will be staying with our daughter. Speaking of grandkids, I will finally get to spend some time with our bonus greatgrandson and granddaughter. I'm thinking though Sharon I may be sending out an SOS because he is a 2 year old firecracker. I may need some Geritol.

Have a great day, will be thinking about you all at 3, maybe tomorrow we'll make a pirate's version for the cocoa klatch (our daughter lives in an old community known for pirates).
Hugs and Prayers all around!

BARB – Thanks, it was the best, just what we needed. Sorry you are having trouble getting your new computer. Hopefully they will get the one that you ordered to you quickly.
KELLY – Thanks, yes they sound really fun. Hoping that nothing happens to spoil our plans to go.
SHARON – Thanks, I am hoping that his wife is doing all right as we haven’t heard anything about her.
SUNNY – Thanks, it was a great and relaxing day. Just what we needed after all the stressful stuff we have had going on.

I have the following bubble recipe saved on my computer:
6 c water
1 c corn syrup
2 c regular strength Joy dishwashing liquid.

It says these are industrial strength (un-potable) bubbles.

Well we made another trip to Norfolk to finish mowing. We ended up exchanging the belt for a larger one and still had trouble getting it on but we managed to do it. DH mowed while I sat in the car waiting. It’s probably a good thing I didn’t mow as my back is really hurting today. After sitting in the car for 2.5 hours while he mowed and the drive up there I could hardly walk because it hurt so badly. We then got in touch with the realtor and dropped the lawn mower key with her for the buyers then came on home. I stretched out across the bed after taking a shower instead of sitting any more.

Have a great week
Thiry

Barb, did I miss something? Did your laptop give up the ghost again?

Quiet Memorial Day here. Mom & little ones left to go spend a few weeks with the other grandparents as DS will be doing some TDY. Kinda nice to get some one on one time, but it's reeallllly quiet here!

Hope you all had a good day, and holiday weekend. Short post - off to bed.

Memorial Day, a Day of Remembrance and gratitude and prayers for all who paid the ultimate price.

Rainy here too, but we need it.

That little Leah is so cute, just melts your heart doesn't it? Pinterest had so many bubble ideas and it made me want to make a batch and go outside to play! I should've...

Don't you just hate it when you buy something only to have to return it? Worse when you have to wait for a replacement. Fingers crossed and that it it doesn't take about 7 days.

See youse guys at 3, maybe treat myself to one with a little sumthin'. Hugs.

Monday – Well was going to purchase a Dell from Costco (had a great deal). Got it, and NADA when I went to hook it up. Grrrr. So back to Costco and it was the last one. Soooooo … . ordered it on line and should be here in about 7 days. Dell has a good reputation, so we’ll see!

Rainy day, so indoors yesterday. Did puzzles w/Mom. She likes that. Looked @ albums, too.

Sharon: Sounds like the best day w/little Leah. That’s so heartwarming that she told you she enjoyed the day!

HUGS and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country on this day of remembrance.

Thanks for trying to find the bubble recipe, Kelly. I may do some research at home, but DS had bought a full new quart bottle.

Today we got to take GD out for the afternoon. Began wih lunch, and then went to a local dairy that makes all their own ice cream. They had a carnival going on for Memorial Day weekend, and she got to ride the merry-go-round, little rocket-ships, and ladybug cars three times each. She told us on the way home she had fun, and that made us happy.

Sounds like you all are having good weekends, too. Glad to hear your mom and dad got out for a walk with you.

Sorry about your boss' loss Thiry.

See you tomorrow. . .

Goodie, fresh air for Mom and Dad...and for everyone else.

Sharon, I looked on pinterest for a bubble recipe - got lost because it goes beyond glycerin, like corn syrup, cornstarch (really?) who knows what else. So you are on your own kiddo. Ha

Great day Thiry, and those upcoming events sound like so much fun.

Will stop by tomorrow, just wanted to say Hey!

Oh what a relaxing day... finally. We slept in this morning. DH and I got dressed and went to church then filled the tank in the car after the trip to Norfolk yesterday. We went to the gym and used the massage chair for 30-45 minutes as DH said he was achy after the mowing yesterday. We then went home and I fixed soup and sandwiches for lunch while DH went to the storage unit to get the hoses and garden tools out of the car. We then picked up my BFF and went to the Soaring Wings Winery & Brewery. We did the $6.00 wine tasting which included tasting 5 wines and keeping the glass emoticon . We went outside to listen to the music and shared a bottle of one of the wines that we had tasted and snacked on what was left of the crackers that DH purchased. We were only there for a couple hours but it was really nice and such a relaxing day. We are thinking about going there on Friday for the music. We were told tonight that we can bring our own supper but we have to purchase our drinks there. They have music between 7-10 every Friday evening. We are also planning to go to the balloon festival on 6/6. It sounds like that day could be a lot of fun.

Have a great week.

Sunday – Good day. Spent lots of time outdoors. That felt nice. Even got Mom and Dad out for a walk.

Sharon: Your menu sounds wonderful!

GS . . . 5 mths. Old! Wow.

Sunny: That’s nice that you and Joshua planted flowers.

Your GD sounds like she had a good time w/the bubbles.

Kelly: Just love LUCY.

BARB – Yes you are so right about being left on hold and the IRS is the worst of any company that I have called and been left on hold. I used to call for reconveyances when I worked at the title company and spent a lot of time on hold but never did I spend 3 hours. I’m just glad they were willing to send the payoff to the title company so that they could get it sooner than if it had been sent to me to forward. Yes it di balance things out and really helped me to relax some as I have been so stressed for the last several weeks (can’t imagine why. LOL)
KELLY – It is really frustrating when you are looking for something at any store and aren’t able to find it, especially something that you expect to find on the shelf. That is really neat that the other family had the same thought as you about putting the flags back up. I am really glad to be getting the property sold although I wish it would have been finalized a few weeks earlier so we could have had the money and been able to go out of town for the 3 day weekend to relax.
SHARON – I totally agree that tie IRS is full of themselves and customer service is worse than poor. It is almost nonexistent and even when you go into the office to talk to someone in person. Heck with hundred pegs lets go for a few thousand pegs. Sadly patriotism is going down the tubes as a lot of people these days have no respect for anyone including the people who fought to give them their freedoms that they expect. Your day with the grand’s sounds like a really enjoyable day. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.
SUNNY – Good luck on the news from the scope for your DH. I agree that it is a good thing to go along with DH. MY DH only hears what he wants to hear like the night we stopped by the gym and they said he has to have a release from the doctor to be able to work out there. He didn’t hear that at all and was surprised when I said that he needed it. I hope you enjoy your time with Joshua. I’m glad that things are working out for him. Prayers that it continues in a positive way.

Thank you everyone for the anniversary wishes. It really did end up being a good day.

Oh so much has been going on here. After I did my post Wednesday evening I was watching a show that we had recorded and it was interrupted with a local news report of a police officer down. I watched to see what I could find out but they didn’t have much information at that time. The next morning I heard that the officer was killed in the shooting, she was just about to take her maternity leave as her new baby that was born at 6 months was scheduled to come home from the hospital that day and she left her husband and 2 other kids behind. She was a 7 year veteran of the police force and was on the gang unit. I could have cried for her and her family. The person that shot her was a convicted felon that they were trying to serve a federal warrant on. He was also killed in the shooting.

Then I get to work on Friday and find out that I haven’t seen or heard from my boss since Tuesday because his wife and her mother were in a freak ATV accident and the mother was killed and his wives condition was unknown at the time but when life flighted to the hospital she was in critical condition. He left Wednesday to head to where they were on vacation at when the accident happened.

Yesterday DH and I went to Norfolk to mow the property as the buyers made the request that it be mowed. We mowed from noon to 5 pm when the belt broke on the mower. We went back into town and were able to find a new belt but DH still doesn’t have enough strength to get the belt put on the mower so we went to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Norfolk and ate then headed home. We both basically crashed when we got home. While DH was mowing I went to the cemetery to dad’s grave then headed back to the property to make sure DH was doing all right.

Today we may go down the road to the winery and do the wine tasting. The have a $6 tasting which includes 5 wines and then we get to keep the glass. They are also having music for a while this afternoon. It sounds relaxing and fun since we didn’t get to go anywhere for the weekend. I do see that they are having a Spring Wine, Blues, Beer and Hot Air Ballon Festival that runs from 3:30-10 on 6/6 that sounds fun. They have 5 different bands scheduled to play for an hour each from 4 to 10 with half hour breaks between each band.

Well it’s about time to get ready for church. Hope you all have a great Sunday and Memorial day.

Thiry

I found myself replaying Lucy several times yesterday, shared with the Red Dress Group I belong to because just Thursday night we were talking about vitaD deficiency, and she came to mind. How funny is that!

Really, the little one is 5 months already? Sharon you can make your own bubbles with glycerin and dish soap and water. Don't remember the ratio but more glycerin than soap and not much of either, just experiment with it. Also if they have a wooden dowel, dip that in and wave it or attach a thin cloth to it and dip that oh gosh what you get is so much fun. Hmmmm, do I still have some glycerin. Bubbles are ageless. I think I'll make sure we do bubbles when at my daughters, that should entertain the 2 yr old for a short while. Thanks for the idea!

Sunny you two sure are popular! That's what you get for living in the middle of the country (and being so much fun to be around). In case I didn't mention it, that was wonderful news to read about Joshua, continued success all around.

Can't ask for nicer weather around here. I agree it is a shame that this is not celebrated the way it used to be.

Throw back memory to 06, this very week-end our son's neighbors threw him a surprise second deployment party. This year they are celebrating his son's high school graduation. Time flies.

We ended up putting the movie on Devo as there were a bazillion commercials. Ugh. We will watch it this evening. The link also listed some cable channels. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.

Sounds like you are having so much fun. Wish I still had a little one around.

Joshua and I got the flowers planted yesterday. I still have an azalea to plant but want to get some landscaping rock to go around the area so I will pick that up today.

Off to the shower then Church. Do have a very blessed day, Team. Sunny

BTW, the Lemon Dill Potato Salad sounds great!

sunny, sorry to hear that your DH needs surgery. Of course, you know we'll have the prayer chain goin'.
Good story Kelly. We need more like her.
Are the cable companies showing the Monumental movie? We have Directv..

Beautiful day here, and we grilled artichokes and chickens tonight. Paired with Lemon Dill potato salad, Hong Kong Slaw salad, and what a yummy dinner! emoticon

Spent most of the day blowing bubbles with GD. We went through half of a quart sized bottle of bubble soap!
Little GS is 5 months this weekend, and I think getting ready to pop teeth. He can roll over in both directions. Can kinda sit up by himself, but not lists to one side or the other and eventually falls over.
No parade here that I can find. So sad.

Hugs to you all!

Saturday – Gorgeous day. Sunny and in the 60’s. I’ll take it.

Let’s remember the reason for the Memorial Day holiday and give thanks.

HUGS

Sharon: Glad that so many are showing remembrance and flying the flag.

No classes this summer, but maybe in the fall. NEEDS TO WORK FULLL TIME! GRRrrr.

Kelly: Yes, I have so many friends, etc. dealing with Low Vit. D.

Looking @ that ad for Geritol reminds me of the Luch episode where she’s doing the commercial for VITAMETAVEGAMIN, which gets her crocked as it’s 75% alcohol!

Awesome about replacing the flags in place. What a great example for those little ones! FABULOUS!

Sunny: So sorry to hear that your Dh needs surgery. **SIGH** Quite often those do require surgery. Wishing you both all the best. Sorry it can’t be done by scope either. **SIGH**

I would go to Hannibal but with company coming in less than 2 weeks, I would rather put my energy into the flower beds which are demanding some attention. emoticon

Columbia is about 2 hours but we have been to the Hospital there so it won't be a problem. We know nothing about the University of Iowa Hospital. Doc also said it could probably be done at the VA in either Columbia or Iowa but not sure how long that wait would be and with all the problems the VA has had, it just didn't seem right for DH right now.

BTW, Kirk Cameron's Movie, Monumental will be on Dish, Channel 223 and other channels this evening. Here is the link for the trailer and channel listings. We have it set to Devo just in case.

I'm glad you found the link, I went back to find it because I only glanced at it. I wish things like this got more media attention. Thanks but I really thought that young lady was a shero.

Ugh is right Sunny...will keep well wishes for your hubby going. How far away is Columbia? Sounds like a lot of fun in Hannibal, maybe you should just take some time and go.

What a great thing to do Kelly. You are my Shero today! Glad someone else had the same idea and what a great example she is setting for her children who were with her. I am impressed.

There is a big celebration down at Hannibal this weekend. It is called "Twain on Main". Mark Twain is from Hannibal and it is to celebrate that and Memorial Day. I have lots to do here so not planning on going.

Looked on line as I had not seen the article about the Kansas High Schoolers. Found it and here is the article from The Kansas City Star. It is things like this that restores my HOPE.

Well, we found out yesterday that DH has to go to a University Hospital for his surgery. He has been diagnosed with a Zenker's Diverticulum of the esophagus. Ugh. Doc says it develops because a muscle in the esophagus is tight and will not relax. He is making a referral for DH to University of Missouri Hospital at Columbia. We should know more next week. DH is a tad anxious as we had hoped he could have this done with a scope but doc says no, it will have to be surgery. another Ugh!

We are, in spite of this news, counting our blessings!

Take care and do have a Marvelous Weekend. Off to put my flag out.... emoticon

I didn't think they still made Geritol. Hilarious watching that woman "smiling" while taking that spoonful, I could smell it through the screen. Tired blood and VitaD deficit seems to have a running theme with a lot of women these days. Thanks for the memory Sunny.

Will Clara take classes during the summer? Nothing like working full time is there. It was good to hear you were doing well.

Yesterday, going down the street noticed that a couple of flags lining a parking lot were down, turned around as I pulled into the lot another car was ahead of me with the same idea of putting them back up. Had a nice chat, she had her little ones with her and they put them back in, it was so great to watch that. I saw a story yesterday about a bunch of high schoolers (Kansas?) had taken it upon themselves to go clean areas where veterans were buried. So there is hope.

Good to hear that you are finally getting your sale finalized Thiry. That is just crazy what you had to go through.

I stopped by yesterday but must have gotten distracted and didn't post. Trying to convince a computer I need to talk to someone and no I don't want to do it your way. Then you get a cheery voice telling you how much they want to make you happy.

Hugs and will see you all at 3!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend all!
That classic commercial brought back lots of memories. Thanks Sunny.
Hope you all enjoy the weekend, and we will be celebrating and remembering the troops this weekend. It was gratifying to drive down the streets in our son's neighborhood and see many houses flying a flag. I mentioned to DH that you rarely see any private homes in our area flying the flag. It is so sad! What has happened to patriotism? I'm going to see if there's a parade nearby tomorrow! If so, we're going to take our granddaughter.

Catch you all tomorrow!

Sharon: No, my Clara decided she “needed to take some time off” so hasn’t been in school since January. **SIGH** So, she’s had to work full-time and think that’s changed her mind.

GERITOL . . . . I remember the Original Ted Mack Ameteur Hour that was sponsored by Geritol. LOLOL Showing my grays.

Sunny: Great link! Didn’t know that Geritol came in pill form . . . sheesh!

Thiry: Well, glad at least the title co. got the payoff information. That’s a step in the right direction.

Special hugs and prayers for our soldiers/vets, families and our country. Have a wonderful Memorial weekend.

Quick stop as heading to work. I found out late last night that the title company got the payoff information yesterday so trying to do the closing today. That is great but we won't get our money in time to have the weekend away as we had hoped.

Catch up more later.

Oh my! I've been missing a lot!

Thirty - first of all- emoticon ! Sounds like the perfect dinner! How wonderful for you both. So sorry to hear about your iRS hassles. I think they have become too full of themselves, and too powerful. They are giving poor customer service as their budget was reduced by congress and so they are " pouting and playing the victim". They need to be taken down several hundred pegs.

Barb, glad to know you are feeling better. Does your Clara graduate this year?

Kelly, good for you to have a "whole me day"! Glad kitty is doing OK.

Sunny, prayers for your DH, and so happy to read the good news about Joshua.

You are all right about enjoying the time, and we sure are, but I feel like I need a triple shot of Geritol! Today spent some time with Leah watching her chase bubbles. So darn cute!

Hugs to all. Happy Friday Eve! (Time's going too fast!) emoticon

Joshua is doing amazing, not drinking, and was just hired full time by the company he has been working for through manpower. Every day is a gift and I am thankful for where he is today. It has been a journey for him and us . He feels good about himself and is a joy to be around these days.

I am just tired of paying for service I don't use. I have been with sprint and the coverage in this area is not that good but stayed with them because most of our family has sprint and I didn't want to loose the #.

Like I said, we will meet Joshua for lunch after Rich's doctor's appointment so will let you all know tomorrow afternoon what is going on.

It's after 3. I did have some pita chips and hummus but no chocolate today. Ugh...

Take care and see you all tomorrow.

We actually were very encouraged by what the NP had to say. I will go with him to the appointment tomorrow then we will meet up with Joshua down at Hannibal for lunch.

A friend of mine recently signed up with Republic Wireless Phone Service and sent me the information. After checking, it sure sounds like it would be perfect for me since I am home more than out. If you are at home, calls and data are directed through the wifi thus saving your plan minutes. If you are out, it goes through cell towers. I checked the service area and according to the map, I am in the coverage area for G4. I can't wait. The bad part of this change is that I am giving up a phone # that I have had over 10 years however looking forward to the $$ savings so felt like it would be worth it. I will just notify people of the new #.

Barb, I am with you on the medication. No need to explain.

Take care, I am off to finish my job in the spare bedroom

Hugs, Sunny

Thursday – Mom is enjoying her puzzles so we did that for a little while yesterday.

Feeling almost back to 100% -- wahoo!

Here’s to a thankful Thursday.

Sharon” Nothing like play time w/the grandies and gong to the promotion ceremony! Awesome. Awwww, Mom’s are allowed to show their pride, even when it’s with tears of joy! Or mixed emotions! HGUS

Kelly: Uh oh . . . not the naughty corner. Worked with my kids till they were about 3 . . . then . . . NADA! **SIGH**

Glad kitty is feeling better. PHEW.

Thiry: I have been taking Ibuprofen and that’s working well. No narcotics for me, even though he prescribed hydrocodone. NO THANKS Not unless I want to spend days in the bathroom . . . that’s all I can say about that!

Glad you got the auth to have your car repaired. SHEESH Apparently an invitation engraved on gold bouillion is necessary. **SIGH**

YIKES on your experience getting business taken care of. OMG one could spend a lifetime on hold!

Glad you got to go out for your anniversary. And what a nice surprise! Having your bill paid, desert and champagne . . . how sweet!!! At least that balances the crud you went thru getting business taken care of earlier!

Sunny: HUGS and prayers for DH and you. I am sure it is a VERY long wait for you and DH for things to move forward.

Happy Anniversary Thiry!!! May there be smooth sailing for a lot more than 9 years. After the past few years, I'd say yah, it's a piece of cake from here on out. You two are certainly a lesson on strength.

That was nice of the NP to see him and splain some things, now for Friday to get here.

Cool day here and nothing exciting planned. Have a meeting tonight. It was odd last night, actually the whole day, first day in awhile I did not have something to do, for the life of me could not find any mischief to get into.

Well, I did have a ??? moment yesterday. The box stores complain we don't shop there often enough, well, here's a clue Sherlock. When you go in to buy 3 things and can't because they have to be ordered on line and delivered to the store in a few days. Mind you this was in an office supply store and these were things you'd expect to find on the shelf.

See you all at 3! Meanwhile, hugs and prayers to all and our country. I'm sure every one of those graduating Coasties were praying for someone to take prezbo off that podium.

How nice of the Restaurant to give you the meal for your anniversary!! Happy Anniversary.

Barb, hope you are feeling better today.

Sharon, enjoy those kids all you can as they grow up way too fast.

DH's nurse practioner called yesterday and had him come in to see her. She had received a report from the ENT about the Barium Swallow and it showed a Zenker's Diverticulum. It is rare but treatable and can usually be done via a scope. The good news is that it is rarely malignant so we are praying this is the case! He will find out Friday where he goes from here. They will probably schedule the scope.

Today, not much planned. I hope you all have a Terrific Thursday.

Love and Hugs, Sunny

BARB – I can relate to you having the 3 teeth extracted all at the same time. When I was having my dental work done in 2011 I had all 7 of my back teeth pulled in July and then later that year I had the 9 in the front pulled and received my partial. I wasn’t given anything for pain so all I took was Tylenol during that time.
KELLY – Yes insurance companies can be a real pain in the a$$ but the IRS is even worse to deal with. I received a call from the repair shop today that they have received authorization to do the repairs on my car. I take it in at 7:30 Tuesday morning and Enterprise rent-a-car will meet me there with my rental to drive while mine is in the shop. They didn’t do any further views for the mamo so I am guessing that they won’t find anything serious to report when they get the mamo results from the other hospitals. Sorry to hear about Molly.
SHARON – Glad you had a good time with the grandkids. I wish I could spend more time with mine.
SUNNY – Yes I have put some pounds back on but like you said with all the stress and then the mess in our apartment and then hardly being able to get at the food and dishes for a while so we ate out more than we normally would have so it doesn’t surprise me that I have put weight back on. Sorry to hear of the news on DH. Hopefully you will get better news at the appointment on Friday. Lots of prayers coming your way.

A lot going on as usual. We got the papers signed and to the Title Company but they let us know that they needed something in writing about how much we owe for the back taxes before they can finish the closing on the property. I scanned and emailed what we picked up when we were in Norfolk on the 29th but was informed this morning that it wasn’t sufficient as it didn’t say that we owed the IRS and that the balance was $____. They said there were going to try to go to the local office to see if they could get the paper stamped with an IRS stamp so they could use it. Knowing what the IRS is like to deal with I looked up the phone number to call for a payoff letter. The first call ended up being disconnected after I got to where I thought I needed to be. I then tried calling the local office only to get messages that only certain things could be done at that office so I called back to the first number. After about 45 minutes on hold waiting for an agent I was told that she would have to place me on hold to “research” our account. I was then told that I was being transferred to the payoff department. After another 45 minutes of being on hold they finally answered and after I told them what I needed they put me on hold again to “check into the request”. When she came back she said she wasn’t going to be able to help. I said “you are not transferring me again as I have already been on hold for almost 2 hours”. She said no she wasn’t transferring me that I needed to call a different number. By this time I am seeing red because I am so angry. I told her that I had been on the phone for over 2 hours on company time as I was at work and that some people have to work for a living the told her to give me the g..d.. phone number. After she gave it to me I said I wished that they would get their sh*t together and slammed the phone down. I then called the other number and sat on hold for another 45 minutes before anyone answered. I told them what I needed and they were helpful and asked where I how I wanted it sent. I asked if they could email it to me but was told that they didn’t have email (go figure). They said they could send it straight to the title company so I looked up the number and gave then the name of the title company, phone and fax numbers. I was then told that it could be 2 weeks before the payoff letter is ready. I said, “No that isn’t satisfactory as we wanted to close on this property already but haven’t been able to because of them being so difficult to get information from.” I was then told that it could be to the title company as early as Friday at 11 but could take 2 weeks. I wanted to ask where I could send my bill to for the 3 hours I spent on the phone while I should have been doing my job and for the additional interest and penalties that they will add for the next 2 weeks until the payoff money is received. Needless to say I had to sit and calm down after I got off the phone.

Tonight DH and I went out for out anniversary and had a very wonderful surprise. Our waiter offered us free dessert for our anniversary. Later the manager came by our table and talked with us for a while then not only offered the free dessert but also champagne for our anniversary. The assistant manager also stopped by our table and wished us a happy anniversary. After finishing our steaks our waiter found out what we wanted for our dessert. HE brought them then said he would be right back then came back with 2 glasses of champagne for us. He also left the bill on the edge of the table. After eating part of our desserts and toasting to another 9 years we looked at the bill only to find that they had a zero balance for us to pay. There was also a note on the back of the manager’s card that said, “George and Thiry, Here’s to another 9 years of fighting. Best of Luck to both of you. Thank you for sharing your story. Request: Brittany or Taylor Kay” I had tears in my eyes. We asked the waiter to run our card so that we could leave a tip as we didn’t have any cash for that because we were expecting change after paying the bill. He didn’t want to do it as he said supper was their treat. We insisted that he deserved a tip so he ran the card for a penny so we could add the tip for him. The food was great and the staff was wonderful. Needless to say I have and will continue to recommend this restaurant to anyone who may ask about a good place to eat in Omaha. The Staff at the Outback Steakhouse really made our anniversary a wonderful day.

Sorry this is so long but wanted to tell about the experience at our anniversary supper.
Have a great Friday.
Thiry

Oh my, deep breath Sunny and got him covered with prayers. And yes, I think all patients hear what they want, especially hubbies because they know it all already. ha!

I just know how proud you both are of your son Sharon, it is so great you had wonderful weather too. That is okay Dad, burst your buttons, and Mom grab that kleenex. I hear you about that age thing and grandparents, but it will keep you young at heart and you will survive this.

Actually I have been forwarned that the bonus great grand is more of a terrible two rambunctious kid so it should be an interesting few days at our daughters'. He was introduced to the naughty corner yesterday, and Mom is looking for old super Nanny videos to try to stay ahead of it.

The 'roid shot and fluids have kitty in a great mood, more mobile too. She was actually able to climb on the sofa today, but she still wobbles like a sailor on leave. The dog is still willing to share her breakfast too, wonders never cease.

Rest up Sharon, they are giving you two some awesome memories. Look forward to hearing all about them.

Hope all is quiet for you Thiry, good night all.

Sunny prayers from me,too.

Hope your kitty is doing better, Kelly.

Barb, hope your gums and such are less painful and swollen.

Loved the day today. Spent the morning playing with our grandkids, and the promotion ceremony was this afternoon. Really nice, and like the rest of you I'm sure, my Mom emotions tried to get the best of me several times during it, but I managed to keep things at bay. I think DH's buttons were ready to pop from hearing all the comments about his son.

Off to bed very soon. I think we need to become grandparents when were younger so we have some extra energy. I'm wiped out. . .

Barb, so glad you are feeling better today. That is awesome!

Sharon, Penguin movie? I want to go too!! Sounds like fun.

Kelly, how is your cat doing?

Thiry, weight gain? It is understandable with all of the stress you have.

Area 2 Rally was yesterday and I sure did enjoy the day out with my Friends. The installation went well so have that behind me. Came home to some not so good news from DH.

He has had a cough that just wouldn't go away so doc ordered a barium swallow. The test came back with a potential problem. He is seeing his doctor today and will follow up with the Ear Nose and Throat on Friday. I am going with him on Friday. He has a tendency to hear just what he wants to hear. hehehe Typical, eh? Keep him in your prayers. I will keep you posted.

Wednesday – Bit tired yesterday, but feeling up to speed today. Wahoo! Cool weather. Sheesh. Mother Nature is still having trouble realizing it’s SPRING! But that’s all right. At least it’s not winter.

Hope it’s a good Wednesday!

Tuesday – Well, don’t recommend having 3 teeth extracted @ once but I am doing ok! Still have pain and swelling, but Ibuprofen and ice packs help a lot. Soft foods for sure, and am dealing fine with that. PEEW

Otherwise a much cooler day today than yesterday (got up to 72F). But that’s all right. No outside chores to do today, so will do a puzzle w/Mom and Dad and watch a few DVD movies.

Did go for a quick outdoor walk. Had to get some motion in as stiff from being sedentary yesterday (though I did my exercises before my appt.)

So onward, and going to make it a good Tuesday.

Kelly: Slept well. Took my ibuprofen and had my ice packs. Worked well.

Welll, glad to hear that the steroid shot helped Molly. Hard when our fur babies have health problems!

HUGS and catch up with the rest of you later!

How are you this morning Barb, hope you had a comfy night.

Don't you just love insurance companies, all insurance companies? Would have loved to have seen the expression on their faces when they heard your message Thiry. As far as the mammo, Barb is right about having a comparision. Also generally they preview it before you get dressed and if there is anything that needs further review they have extra views or even an ultrasound done at that time.

Oh Barb I don't remember if I mentioned this puzzle site before, bitsandpieces.com. It has a lot of great puzzles, many of them smaller ones.

Well, the sad news on Molly is her kidney failure is progressing quickly. The good news, the steroid shot really helped her as did the subcutaneous fluids. Pup was really happy to see her when we got home. Oh and here is a first, Mooch is letting her chow down out of her bowl...wonders never cease.

How is everything where you are Sunny and Sharon (I always want to say Sonny and Cher)

Cloudy this morning, but looks like it'll be a another warm one. Quiet day today, so will see y'all at 3.

Mama: What a mess w/that insurance company!

AS for the mammo, that is standard operating procedure. Looking @ the prior mammos allows them to see even minute changes that could have happened over time (and of course, that is important in determining if something they may see is a problem). DO make sure you follow up though if you haven't heard in 10 business days.

Doing pretty well this evening but definitely ready for sleep~

BARB – Good luck with the extractions and hope it all goes well.
KELLY – Kelly, the school I attended and the one that my kids attended let the seniors out before the rest of the classes. The seniors usually got out the week before graduation. They take their finals before their last day of class then the rest of the classes take their finals when they are finished with their classes. Good luck with your kitty at the vet.
SHARON – Hope all went well when you got your hair cut. I just realized that tomorrow will be 4 months since I got mine cut last. Where has time gone??? One thing that Barb needs to be careful about is dry socket that can happen when drinking through a straw after an extraction.
SUNNY – Yes that quote describes me also. Not doing well with my weight loss lately. Hopefully I can get back to the gym soon.

It has been really busy with DH’s rehab appointments and other doctor’s appointments. Friday I finally connected with the insurance for the person who caused the accident. After three days and three calls I finally left a message that if they didn’t get back to me I would be contacting an attorney and they could deal with them instead as I wanted my brand new car fixed ASAP. I then called back and was going to push zero to talk to someone else. I also found out in the process that they changed adjusters because of the fact that I went to the doctor for my back but nobody bothered to inform me of the change. They faxed authorization to Baxter for the repairs and contacted Enterprise about a rental while my car is in the shop. After rehab this morning we took the car to Baxter for them to look it over and get their estimate to the insurance company. They have tentatively scheduled the work for next Tuesday. After I got to work I received a call from Enterprise about the rental. I told them what was tentatively scheduled and they said they will meet me at Baxter Tuesday morning with the rental. I was really surprised that they were going to do that and called DH to tell him about it. I said that they do that “bring the car to you” and at that point I remembered that they do have that as part of their service. Mammogram done this morning and they asked about previous mammograms. I told them where they were done and they had me sign so they can send for the previous mammograms. After that I was told that when they get the other mammograms they will send me the results of this one. That doesn’t make since to me as they shouldn’t need the old ones to look at this one and see if there is anything suspicious that would need follow up but I guess I’ll have to wait.

My back was feeling really good until I sat and entered receipts for 4 hours on Saturday. At one point I got up to go to the bathroom and my back was really sore. I made the mistake of sitting back down and working more for the total of 4 hours. It has been hurting quite a bit ever since. I am hoping that it calms down but if it doesn’t I will mention it to the doctor when I go in Wednesday for my test results. DH says that his rehab is too easy. He wishes that they would make it a little harder but I am sure that they have a reason for not doing that. He went for a bike ride again today riding to Wal-Mart to get some sweetener as he was out. He said he won’t do that again for a while as the trip home was a bit difficult for him and he was really exhausted when he made it back home.

Well need to get some things done before heading to bed so better get back to it. Have a great week
Thiry

Barb, been keeping you close in thought and asking God to take your pain. I second Kelly's "easy peasey painfree" vibes.

Kelly it's been warm and humid here too, and the four days of rain has been much less. I'm glad - don't miss the storms and the wetness of humidity. Glad the reiiki is working on your fur babies. Hope all goes well at the vet for your cat.
As far as the entertainment, I don't even know how this younger generations can sit and watch a movie - they are so tuned into social media, and the mindlessness of it all. The dumbing down of America really scares me . . .
May you get some invitations from your beach bunny friend to come and visit!

Barb hope you are doing OK after the extractions. It's 5 oclock and time for some liquid painkillers! emoticon You can drink them through a straw to help them go straight down the hatch!

Sunny and Thiry, hope you both are doing fine.

Love yas!

Best wishes today Barb...may it be easy peasey painfree.

Finally got rain again yesterday, worst of it missed us. But it was great in between (if you ignored the humidity). Looks like another iffy day but will take it.

Can you believe May is half over already? Some of the high schools graduated yesterday. Seems awfully early to me considering that the last of them don't graduate for another two weeks. Do they graduate and still have to attend class like the rest?

I hear you with the bunk that is coming out as entertainment. Mindless sells, family friendly doesn't.

Well, taking kitty over to the Vet in a bit. We are going to give her another shot to see if it helps with her mobility and do some labs. She was quite chatty this morning, decided she would invade the dogs dish, to my surprise pup let her get away with it. Sharon those back rubs I think help her, funny thing I also started doing them on Mooch when she became anxious awhile back over the cat not doing well. Yesterday as the storm was rolling in, I gave her one and it calmed her quickly.

Will miss klatch time, having a farewell late lunch with a friend who has decided to become a full time beach bunny. Then off to a class so it will be a bedtime snack for me.

Kelly

Penguins movie was entertaining, and some good one liners, but they sure are making kids movies violent, and lots of "bullying" in them. There was one moralistic sentence near the end in the whole movie. Not like the kids movies of our generation . . . Have seen some trailers for the new Pixar movie coming out in mid-June, Inside Out, about our emotions. Here's a link if you'd like to watch:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIDYqBMFzfg
I am wanting to go and see that one. I have loved the Pixar movies.

Hello Ladies! Well, "into the Woods" was not quite what I expected. A movie made based on a Broadway musical. It was a "musical movie", much like Mama Mia - combined singing and talking. The one common factor between both was Meryl Streep played the witch, and Christine Byraranski, the wicked stepmother. Lots of stars in ii - Chris Pine played Prince Charming. It was entertaining, and not something you had to invest a lot of brainpower into. Scenery, costumes, and special effects were of course up to Disney standards. I give it 3/5 stars.

We're going to watch the "Penguins" movie later on today.

Good idea for the veggies, Kelly. I'll have to remember that! How long for the soak? Does it work with all veggies including lettuces? Rain on and off here too starting yesterday afternoon.

Will keep you in my prayers tonight, Barb. Hope all goes better than expected tomorrow. Glad you all had a good time last night.

Sunny, and Thiry hope you both have a super Sunday.

Will check in again later.

Sunday – Gorgeous day yesterday. Mom and Dad enjoyed our outing to dinner and we even got an outdoor walk in. NICE!

It was nice to have a day off from cooking. Have the refrigerator/freezer stocked for the week, since I am not going to feel like cooking for at least several days.

Going to try that trick for freggies, Kelly. Thanks!

Dinner out, I know it was enjoyed by all Barb.

Every time I see anything related to those Penguins, I wanna dance. Know nothing about going into the woods though. I have prime, really should take advantage of it.

Nothing exciting around here, we have had off and on rain bursts and it is cloudy right now so don't know what will follow. Looks like mother nature has been on a tantrum in parts of the country.

My neighbor belongs to a freggie co-op, I got a basket yesterday, huge! Lots of good stuff. She discovered a trick that works for her, give all that stuff a dunk in water and a cup of vinegar, stays fresh longer. For sure no excuses for not getting enough freggies before I head to Florida.

By the way Sharon, loved your Friday tickles!!!

Also Sunny, those pesky 3 or 8 are hanging around here too.

Extra hugs and prayers for our military, all those that keep us safe and of course our Country.
See youse guys at 3.

Barb, have fun at dinner. Yay for the R & R!

Sunny, that sounds like me to a T too! emoticon

Haircut went well. I always feel so good when I leave there.

Rented 2 movies to watch tonight - Into the Woods and Penguins of Madagascar.
If you get Netflix or Amazon Prime, I highly recommend the TV Series Once Upon A Time. We got hooked, and love it. Friend told us this Into the Woods was on the same caliber. Will let you all know tomorrow how they were.

Supposed to get rain tonight, tomorrow, and Monday. . . UGH!

Enjoy your evening!

Going to take Mom and Dad out to supper tonight. That will be nice. No prep, cooking or clean up!

Hey all, late check-in, and quick drive-by! emoticon Just finished my Friday Happy Hour blog, and that's why I'm late.

Thiry, glad you and DH are feeling better. Hope all goes well with your mammogram. Earlier funny post from last week if you care to look on it. Did it the day Barb was going for hers.

Kelly, hope you are out with the gang and having fun! emoticon

Sunny, you sure work fast, gal! Nothing wrong with getting everything out of the way though so you can relax next week and just enjoy!

Barb, did another posting in my blog, just for you. Hope you get a kick out of it!

Hugs to all!

Glad on both counts, Thiry, that you are doing better and that DH is progressing so well.

Friday and menu for next week received, shopping list made. I am thinking we will go to the store today and get it done before the weekend.

Tuesday, I will go to a Rally for the ABW (American Baptist Women) circles in our area. I have to take a salad so will check my Salad board on Pinterest to see what sounds good.

Take care and do have a Fab Friday. Hugs to all, Sunny

BARB – Yes DH is really doing well and very much ready to get back to work. You are probably right that I have thought many different things about the twit. I haven’t said much as I walked away to prevent saying or doing something that I would regret.
KELLY – Thanks, it sure seems like life is really hitting us hard the last couple months. I am ready for some down time for a while.
SHARON – Thanks, yes we are doing well although I did end up at the doctor last night due to my back really hurting. I felt all right at the time of the accident but as the day went on I started having pain in my lower back. Wednesday I felt all right when I got up but as the day went on my back was hurting more and more so I went in to have it checked out after I got off work. Every time I have had a root canal it has taken 2 appointments to complete.
SUNNY – Thanks, the thing that made me so angry was the fact that she thought books that were falling in the car were more important than keeping her eye on the highway/traffic when driving 45-55 mph then hitting someone pushing them into me while I was still moving. I had slowed down for the intersection as the light had been red but by the time we got there it changed so I kept moving and was speeding back up when I got hit from behind. Yes we went to Garth brooks & Trisha Yearwood. I purchased the tickets in March before all this other stuff started happening. It was a great concert and well worth the time and money. Yes, it was late but the walk from the car to the arena was really nice as the weather was great that night. The walk back to the car was nice also and the time it took us to get back to the car gave a lot of the other traffic time to get out so we were able to drive out without having to fight traffic.

I am doing better. On Wednesday I felt pretty good when I first got up but while sitting in the chair waiting for DH to finish cardiac rehab I started hurting more and as the day went on it hurt more. I had taken some Tylenol midafternoon but was still hurting so went to the immediate clinic to have it checked out. The doctor decided to get x-rays just in case and gave me some 800 mg ibuprofen to take every 6 hours. They concluded muscle strain as the x-ray didn’t show any fractures but did show that “good old Arthur” has decided to visit my lower back. MY back did pretty well today although I did keep the ibuprofen going just to make sure that I wasn’t to uncomfortable as it was a busy day. DH had an appointment with the cardiologist this morning. He has been told that he can start driving (so need to get the car for him so he has something to drive), he needs to finish cardiac rehab then he will be given a release to return to the gym with me to work out, he can fly fish as tolerated (due to the movement) and he can go back to work as long as they will work around his rehab schedule. Also he has been given the clearance to ride a bike so this afternoon he got on the bike and went for a ride while I was finishing work and at my doctor’s appointment. My appointment today was to get establish with my new doctor and to get a good checkup since I haven’t really seen any doctor since I was released from the hospital last July when I broke my elbow. She spent 1.5 hours with me going over medical history, doing a pap smear and getting some other tests scheduled. They drew blood today to check on several things including my A1C. I am scheduled to have a mammogram on Monday and they are planning to schedule a colonoscopy in the near future. The good thing is that the mammogram is scheduled for Monday about the time DH will be getting done with rehab so I will probably go straight to check in for that when we get there for his rehab so maybe they can get me done earlier than scheduled so I can be done and ready to go when he finishes with rehab. I then have an appointment on Wednesday to go back in to sit with her and go over all the test results in person and see what meds they may put me on and plan from there.

Needless to say next week is going to be a really busy week between work and appointments.

Have a great weekend.
Thiry
