Love your phrase, "So you got crickets from the hubster", Kelly! Just confirms the latter for me. At a total loss for words . . . emoticon .

Our son lived in the college dorms, and then at shared off campus apts, and none of them were fancy or where the popular kids lived. The first one was actually "on the other side of the tracks" LOL. We didn't get him much except for the bare necessities, too. This came to mind . . .

www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dhSdnDb3tk

Shoot, we spent his whole college savings and then some more putting him through military school for his last two years of HS. It cost 4 times more a year a state college did at the time, as it was "private". Talk about "spartan living" in a military barracks setting. I guess he was pleased with whatever he had after that! So he went off to college the same way - just with what was needed.

Yes, we made and ate popcorn together. No Jiffy Pop. It was a Waring Popcorn Popper that was basically a hot plate with a glass dome over it. You plugged it in. We closed our bedroom door, and the suite door, laid a couple of towels along the bottom cracks, and I think that helped. Oh, and we turned the bathroom fan on, too while it popped! Funny thing was, my dad commented how much THEY missed it. He had to revert to popping corn in the frying pan on the stove.

Thanks for sharing the blog, and now they will definitely know you went to school with the dinosaurs, and get a good laugh out of it!

By the way, Kelly, frats and sororities are just one big group party, and party house. I know, I was in one. So don't be too surprised. When I went away to college, I was quiet, studious, and hard working cause I had to put my self though college. My parents didn't have the money, and I was not one of the smart kids to get a scholarship. I was relatively shy, and quiet as a church mouse, and I got rushed by 3 sororities! To say it changed me was an understatement, and it was fun.

Barb, I had that same hair dyer, too! That was my dorm room, and me sans cigarette. Never smoked.

Sorry about your mom. I hope the outing and dinner tonight helps her spirits, and to relax. Just order plenty of chocolate martinis and she'll be fine, and so will you!

We're going out to dinner with friends, and I plan to have some libations myself! Chocolate martini sounds like a plan! Good - now I don't have to sit and think about it!

Enjoy your evening girls!

Saturday – Mom has been having difficult days lately. Yesterday morning she had a melt down. Nowhere like she had previously, but took a while for her to calm down. Better in the afternoon

Chores to do this morning, then I think Clara and I will take Mom and Dad out.

Have a great weekend.

Kelly: Yes . . . that’s it . . . hubby crickets. Dang! Mom and Dad aren’t up yet, but hope the spunk-i-tude continues for Mom.

Some aren’t cut out for the “book learning” stuff. My son definitely isn’t! But life has many lessons to teach . .. regardless!

OMG . . . Jiffy Pop was a staple and YES, for sure, the smell drew dorm mates from miles around. The Resident Assistants always looked the other way, because – let’s face it – they made it too! LOL

Glad you enjoyed Cabaret.

Hope it stays dry for Music @ the Mansion!

Sharon, Sunny, Thiry: Hope you’re not misbehavin’! Or at least having fun if you are!

HUGS and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

So you got crickets from the hubster, hmmm. I am sure he realizes that you seriously could use some down time Barb. Well, we can only hope he does (mine wouldn't have). Here's to your Mom getting that spunk on by the way!

Sharon, you are so hilarious. I knew from the first picture it would be. I'm surprised you weren't turned in for putting a smoke in your blog. I didn't have to worry about dorm life or even college life, just wasn't for me. And if I did it would have been local. I was lucky enough to live in places with high falutin' colleges. I would have been fine except I didn't like tests. Still don't that's why I don't have my amateur radio license. Lawrd, that is one long, hard test.

It brought to mind our grandson's girlfriend, both she and her Mom are girly girls (bit of a tomboy in silk and lace though), what they did to her dorm room last year was really really nice and she is in an apt this year and another great job. But come on, over the top! Our son lived in the dorm for awhile and he got the bare necessities. Just like when both kids lived in apts, basics. Never occurred to us to do otherwise. You must have shared your popcorn, because that wonderful smell travels and you could have been busted. I'm not surprised you did it though. I think I will share your blog with them. I don't think our nephew is getting carte blanch in his new dorm (or maybe he's living in the frat house, him joining a frat is still a huge surprise to all of us).

Cabaret was wonderful, as always! The kid who placed Joel Gray's role was perfect! I know Joel was watching and cheering him on. It was a sad reminder of the past and now. In fact the song at the end of the first act, it was a long pause before anyone clapped and it was just to acknowledge their singing. (The first real reference to people supporting Hitler, can not remember the name of the song, dang, if you heard it you'd recognize it) I saw it on Broadway, so I think it impaired my appreciation of the movie.

Tonight is the last night for Music at the Mansion, outdoors, so keep your fingers crossed it stays dry! Bring your kids, fourleggers, lawn chairs, snacks and libations. The kids sometimes steal the show because they are up there dancing almost the whole time. So I will join you lassies for some spiced iced tea. Last night as we were leaving, we were treated to some awesome summer lightening.

Hugs and Prayers.

Kelly

Heading over to your blog for sure!

OH yes, I mentioned that to Jas . . . are you working hard or hardly working. Strange silence @ the other end of the phone!

Yes, I am definitely happy with the spunky days. Those are the days memories are made!

Enjoy your lemoncello martini!

Off to read . . .

Quick post. Just finished Happy Hour blog about 30 minutes ago. This was a detailed one, so took a good part of the afternoon.
Hope you all enjoy it!

Barb, glad to hear Jason got there OK. I'm sure he's hardly working - ahem - I meant to say hard at work.

Glad mom has her spunk back today! Take it and roll with it, there were far too many otherwise days in recent memory.

Thiry good luck with getting to Onederland. I know you'll do it. You have a good amount of time.

Kelly, hope you have a good time tonight.

We're hanging low today, but will be going out with friends tomorrow night. Think I'll go imbibe for my Happy Hour. Lemoncello Martini here I come!

Have a good evening all! emoticon

Friday – Day #1 begins with Jason in San Diego. Safe flight.

Mom’s carer is due any moment (as usual on M-W-Fri) so have to get scooting.

Thiry: Our furbabies do miss us!

Good if you can get back into the gym habit!

Kelly: All I know is it would be “hard to take” being @ a resort . . . NOT!!!

OH love CABARET! Enjoy

Well, ready for 3 pm. WHERE IS IT! DANG!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See ‘all @ 3. Mom wants her frozen hot chocolate. She’s got her spunk on today. LAWRD!

Isn't San Diego a resort with a bunch of sailors and Marines added? Our son will be there late September for the retirement of a buddy and his son should be there by then to finish seal school. While waiting for still another medical clearance he has been going through all pre-whatevers, oh man they have beefed him up big time, no longer president of the skinny kids club for sure (although he was always strong and had muscles hiding, as a bully found out in the eighth grade).

Thiry, you will look awesomer at the wedding, well on your way already! Your gym time is building muscle and you are getting on the lean side, so don't let that danged scale get in the way. The beginning of June would be ahead of the usual June rush or even late May. Hopefully he has already told his brother when he can't be there.

I would be willing to bet some of your gain is from traveling, I came back from NY 8# higher but a couple of days of extra h2o half of it was gone quickly. The other half comes and goes, it best be gone by next week. I have my obligatory primary doc visit then, going to get a finger wag anyway, she has to have something to get after me about.

For sure, can't let Friday go by without some lunacy Sharon. Barb you are so funny!

There really much on the attack, which I guess in a way put a damper on those 'peacelovin' goons looking for constant coverage.

Our local theater is doing Cabaret, seeing that tonight so will wait for sumthin with dinner there. Will join you ladies for some spiced ice tea at 3 though. It is going to be another hot steamy day with those pop up storms to interfere with the farmers market.

Meanwhile, it is Fryday...gotta go get my RED on, with some blue for our first responders. Hugs and Prayers

BARB – Hope things are going better for your mom.

KELLY – Yes the storms have blown through. We had tree limbs down and electric outages from the storm Tuesday night. The rains in Nashville didn’t damper the day although DH and I did go back to the motel instead of spending time on the Honky Tonk Highway because we didn’t want to be down there and get soaked from the rains. Other than that the day went off as planned. Yes Storm can have an attitude at times.

SHARON – thanks, yes it was nice to have the day to recoup from the trip. The “boys” have been all over me since getting home, even more so than normal. Storm even slept with me Tuesday night as he usually spends more time with DH. The information about your dog is interesting. It is amazing what animals will do and what they can sense. I feel that Bubbles was sensing the blood clot I had 2 years ago when I first got out of the hospital when I had pneumonia as he insisted on laying on my leg every time I would lay down. After getting the diagnosis of the blood clot and getting on the blood thinner he tried laying on my leg but when pushed off he went to lay at the foot of the bed. Had I known that first week what was going on I would have done things different at that time.

SUNNY – Hope things are going well for you.

I hadn’t heard about either the shooting or the earthquake as I haven’t seen the news since getting home.

I have had a lot to do at the office since getting back having a lot of Title XX authorizations that came in while I was out. It took me from the time I got to work at 7 am until about 1 pm on Wednesday to get them printed and recorded in the places that they all needed to be. I had thought about going to the gym Tuesday but didn’t make it as I slept off and on all day. I did make it back to the gym yesterday and again today. I really needed to get back as I put 10 pounds back on while I was on the trip so really working on getting that back off and now working on the new goal of getting below 200 pounds before the wedding. DS told me when we were picking up the plant and keys that the wedding may be in June 2017. If that is the case and with the fact that DS has his AT from 6/10/17-6/24/17 it only leaves the first weekend in June for his brother to have a June wedding if he wants his brother at the wedding. If the wedding is the first week of June 2017 that gives me 40 weeks to get the pounds off that I need to in able to make my goal. I was really tired last night again and fell asleep early.

Have a great week everyone.
Thiry

Sharon: YES YES YES . . . we all need that kind of a job! Lawrd.

He is going to San Diego, lucky dude! They just use a stencil for the weather every day .. . . sunny and in the 70’s. I COULD TAKE IT.

I knew about the Italian earthquake, but hadn’t watched the news, so just learning about the university shooting. **SIGH** just a crazy world. NEEDS PRAYERS

BWAHAHHA! That’s right . . . just do not call us late for Happy Hour! NO NO NO!

Hi There!

I think we all need the kind of job Jason has where you get to go to work at fancy resorts! I could live with that! emoticon I think you should "demand equal time", Barb! emoticon
Safe travels to Jason. Where is this resort?

Getting hot and humid here again. We had a couple of days in the 80s and lower humidity. I am soooo ready for it!!!!

So sad about the University and the earthquake. Said prayers for all those souls.

Well, I'll be getting busy again doing a newsletter so stand by. . .
It may be a week or so, so that's good.

Yes, Kelly, it's OK for you to call us guys, or gals, or youse guys - just don't call us late for happy hour!

Hope you all are doing well today. Have a good one! emoticon

Thursday – Jas leaves for San Diego today. Staying @ a resort. ROUGH, isn’t it! LOL

Very humid and hot. But supposed to cool down tomorrow. HOPE SO.

Well, off to breakfast this morning. Yeah!

Kelly: I think you’re spot on that she is “getting” the emotions re: selling the condo, though she doesn’t know what’s going on. **SIGH**

Oh yeah, that’s the game . . . keep the oldsters confused and then they don’t have to give the discount! HA . .. doesn’t work with me. I am now marking ‘em down!

Gotta scoot. Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3!

Good point on the rest of your Mom's meds needing adjusting. Afterall, she needs to keep her spunk on! I am betting she is picking up on the emotions you all are having with selling their home.

And it made me smile to read that your other Mom was chatty, and BP was down (maybe that was part of it?)

How are you and your Sis doing Sunny?

We have a Piggly Wiggly about 10 miles or so away, haven't been in it in a long time. Old store, nice folks and clean but out of the way.

Seems more and more places that used to do old fart discounts have made it difficult to figure out when they give them and what you have to do to get it. Krogers and Publix (grocery) do 5% on Wednesday, Kroger used to do 10 but only once a month. I think you have to pay attention to the rest of the stores for their surprise discounts, it is never when I need something. OR worse you have to sign up to get them.

So sad the attack at that Afghan University. And the earthquake in Italy. All we can do is pray.

Not much on the agenda today, see youse guys (can I still say guys or gals???) at 3!

With 5 people in the house, most of my “old fart” discounts are @ the grocery store. Today, for example, I went to Piggly Wiggly. Forgot it was Wednesday – that’s Sr. discount day. Got a nice 3% discount. Every little bit helps when feeing FIVE!

Shopko (like a downgraded Target) gives a 10% discount on Wednesdays too, but I don't do a lot of shopping there.

Mom had a bit of a better day today. Was enthused about 3 pm, and requested another creamsicle, so that’s what we had. Glad to see she had her spunk on!

Glad your BF’s Mom was a little better w/a good B/P and a little more chatty. The memory decline . . . that’s hard to take. **SIGH**

Hey All. . .
Thiry, glad you got home safe and sound, and had a day to catch up and rest. Looks like your fur babies are glad to have their comfy place back! emoticon Our first dog had a blood based tumor, which we paid to have surgically removed only to grow back again - but every night he would want to be picked up and he fell asleep on his side over my heart. He would stay there all night until I got up and carried him to bed with me.

Kelly, and Barb, where do you guys find these "old fart discounts"? I know Kohl's has them here, but I don't do much shopping at all. I try to stay out of the stores and malls as much as possible.

Barb, hope mom had a better day today.

Kelly, good luck with your meeting later.

Sunny, glad sis is getting better, and to see you here today.

Good day "mom-sitting" - BP was good, and she only napped for about 10 minutes while I was there. She was a little more chatty today, too, but her memory has declined again.

Not much else to report so I'll sign off for now. emoticon

Wednesday – Gorgeous weather day. Did get some things done outside (edging and trimming).

Mom had a very confused day. Definitely the meds. Have an appt. next week. I am positive it’s not the Namenda. I believe her other med needs to be adjusted. But praying it’s a calm day today.

Her carer is coming, so gotta scoot!

Thiry: Glad u made it home safe and sound.

Kelly: Glad Mooch is at least walking around and seems comfortable. Oh dear. Yes, glad she’s resting.

Love it! “Old Fart” discount day. Today is it here, too. LOL

Def see y’all @ 3!

Oh no, I thought I sent my condolences to you Sunny.

Hope the storms have blown through Thiry. Really sorry about the weather but looks like it did not put a damper on anything.

Well, not sure about Mooch. She is in such a funk, walks around okay which is a big plus compared to Sunday, seems comfortable as far as any pain but her resting heart rate is still at the very high end. At least she "slept" in this morning, I stayed in bed for as long as I could stand it, not sure she was really ready to get up. Wish the cardio results would get in quicker, then again, maybe not.

Should get a grocery list together, it's ole fart discount day and I need more stuff this week. So I'll see you at 3, probably will be a "meeting" still and she always has sumthin sumthin, so cheers.

Hugs and Prayers

BARB – Thanks, I was rushing to make sure we got things done and made the bus. I was so surprised that I slept that late as every other morning I was awake early, probably earlier than I needed to be on those mornings.

KELLY – I’m glad to hear that Mooch’s labs are good. Hopefully a good night’s sleep helped.

SHARON – Yes the time flew by and we did have a lot of fun on the trip. We made a couple friends that I hope we will keep in touch with.

SUNNY – Sorry to hear about your friend’s daughter.

We made it home about 6 pm last night. We got the car unloaded, I put the food in the refrigerator and fixed a light supper then I spent the rest of the evening on the couch with my foot elevated as it was really swollen again. I ended up falling asleep about 9 waking up a couple times before getting up for the day at about 9:30 this morning. I got out laundry done between naps today. At one point I had 3 of the 4 cats on my lap while I slept (posted on photo page). While I was fixing supper DS sent a text asking when we were going to pick up the house/car keys and the plant. He also asked it if the plant needed to be watered again. I told him that we would run over after eating supper and that if the roots of the plant looked brown that it should probably be watered. After we ate we drove over there and talked for a little while telling them a little about the trip and discussing the upcoming wedding. As we were getting ready to come home we could see some clouds between the lightening. As we drove home the rain started and for a little while it seemed like we were still in Nashville with the downpours we had there. Well, I guess I should get to sleep so I can get up for work in the morning. Good think it is a short work week.

Have a great week everyone.

I remember now that you mention it, but did not remember that he was so young.

Yes, we are happy that Shar has come through all that she has. She is one strong woman.

I think if Mooch's labs weren't good I don't even know if I would have considered it. I forget what they used on hubs, it is not as hard on the body but effective enough for a quick deep sleep. So who know what they used.

Back to watching the LittleLeague baseball game, the team representing Tennessee is from the N'ville area. Nearly won the whole shabang two years ago. Nighty Nite!

What is it with heart conditions and our fur babies!

My brother died @ age 27 (it was his birthday) from a ruptured brain aneurysm. At that time they didn't have MRI's, or CT's. They thought he just had migraines. Turns out he didn't. It was an aneurysm. Now they do so much with them -- stents -- just like they do with the heart, but with a brain aneurysm, it depends on where it's @. My brother's was @ the Circle of Willis (base of the brain -- controls respirations and heart beating), so there was no "fix" even if they knew he had it.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

So sorry to hear about Mooch. Our Miss Macki had heart problems also. Keep us posted!

Just got home from a funeral. The daughter of some friends of our passed away suddenly. She had a brain aneurysm and just did not recover. Makes me ever so grateful that Sis made it through her aneurysms. We just never know, do we?

Have a good evening.

Hugs, Sunny

Tuesday – It was a gorgeous weather day. Got my early morning walk in. So did lots of others! Was a little surprised at the # of walkers, but it’s that time of year. Trying to suck in the good weather while it’s here.

Hoping the week is quiet as Jason will be gone from Thursday thru Sunday. BOO. But Mr. Spot will be the #1 in charge, with me not far behind, so that will work. HA HA

Kelly: OH yeah, I think they COUNT on us not paying attention, realizing Mom’s have eyes in the back of their heads! Oh well, some day when THEY’RE parents, they’ll realize that. LOL

Ah, see, I didn’t realize that. I think I’d not opt for an echo for Mr. Spot cuz @ 15, chances are slim to none he’d survive. Thanks for the information. Hmmmm . . . I will have to discuss a DNR for Mr. Spot w/the vet. He is still enjoying life to be sure but . . . the little fur body is at an age where it doesn't co’promise for health issues. **SIGH**

Well, hope Mooch feels good! And prayers for a benign report.

Sharon: Absolutely they train from the get-go to do these things. It is just not comprehensible to say the least. The first time they saw this kid he was standing there alone, and as they passed a bunch of others came out.

The 2nd time, when they ambushed the tank, once, John was shot, the rest of the “clan” came out, and John’s mates had to take care of that situation. Makes me physically ill to think about it.

Good luck Mom sitting today for your BF!

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Good Morning!

Barb, I echo Kelly's thoughts about not knowing a young boy shot John. If they can do that at such an early age, you have to surmise they are being "trained" from birth up.

Glad to hear that John is doing well. I think about him often, but haven't asked in awhile. You have felt that he has a girlfriend for quite some time. Yes, my son, too, was very close mouthed about his love life too. We only know about a couple of his more serious girlfriends.

Kelly, so sorry to read your news about Mooch. I hope that the small spot is benign too. It's so hard to watch our four legged family members age, just like it is watching our parents. . .

Sunny hope you are doing well, and your sis is recuperating nicely.

Well, off to run some errands, and tomorrow am going up to "mom-sit" again, so it will be a late check-in.

I hear you about kids being closed mouth, then they are disappointed when they "surprise" you with it, and you aren't surprised, guess they think we aren't paying attention.

Yes they had to anesthetize, it's always a worry but I put an all time DNR on her, what surprised me was they shaved her - a good bit. Awwwww, I told her Mr. Spot sent wags and licks, she sent licks and smiles back and thanks too.

Hugs and Prayers, will see ya at 3!

Kelly: Yes, they'd seen a group when they were doing their rounds. John had recalled seeing the kid the day before -- same spot. Anyhow, yes, the kid was no older than 10. SAD to say the least.

He's doing pretty well. Loves the constant sunshine, but that's of course fading now. Not a fan of the constant dark, but knows how to deal with it. Think he has a girlfriend, but he's pretty closed-mouthed about it. I think most guys his age are. But anyhow, he sounds good.

Did they have to anesthetize Mooch to do the echo??? I know there's going to be a time when Mr. Spot is going to need it. Just worry about anesthetic.

As for the labs, good they were okay and hope that the cells they pulled are benigh. HUGS and prayers and Mr. Spot sends wags and licks.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Quick drive by...

Barb, at least you got lots done. Jason headed to another resort, haha? Geez, did not realize it was a kid who got John. Hugs aren't enough it seems. How is he doing anyway?

Mooch has a heart problem, the extent we'll find out when the cardiologist reads the echo. However it is on the left side and her symptoms are on the right so they did an ultra sound on her belly. There is a very tiny something near her kidney, they pulled a few cells and will wait for those results (a week). Her labs are very good other than heart related so I have to be optimistic. I have her home, she is up and about but struggling - we'll see how a good nights sleep helps her.

Good night all, no sumthin for me so hope you had a little extra.

Good Morning! emoticon

Barb, hope things went smoothly for you yesterday, and you aren't feeling too overwhelmed by it all. Hope things go well for mom today, too.

Kelly, so sorry to hear about your fur baby. Hope the vet is able to help her. Glad to read you found some homes for those others who needed homes.

Sunny, hope you and sis are both doing well.

Thiry, safe travels back home. I'm sure the week flew by, but you sure managed to make the most of it with all of your activities.

Have a good day everyone!

BARB - hope you got everything that you wanted accomplished yesterday and had safe travels.

SHARON - Hope you had a good weekend.

SUNNY - hope you had a good weekend and that your sis is doing well.

KELLY - Wouldn't it have been neat if Bill had been wearing that shirt on Friday when we got our picture with him. I had seen this shirt once before as he wore it as he was setting up for the Homeless Veterans Benefit earlier this month. There is talk of trying to get those shirts for anyone of the group that would be interested in one. I hope things are going well for Mooch. It is so hard when one of our fur babies are sick. Hopefully someone will come forward and claim the lost pup soon. OH, i am so glad that my son is no longer in Turkey. I would be so scared for him if he was. Yes, it sounds like yesterday would have been a much nicer day for us but we got through the monsoons of Saturday as it di stop for us at the best times.

Well we are getting ready to head down to the bus for the last leg of our journey. The birthday party last night was a big success. I was on the committee to help setup and when I got there to do my part it had already been done. I don't know what time they actually started but it must have been earlier than when I was told to get there to help. I talked with the desk clerk for a while last night after the party and she said she absolutely enjoyed the music as she could hear Bill singing even though the doors to the room were closed. She said it helped to make the evening go a lot faster. On our way to St. Peters we made a bathroom stop at a Pilot south of Paducah and of course there was a long line for the woman's bathroom since the bus is probably 85% women. The station attendant came by and told a bunch of us to follow him as he would give us the keys tot he shower rooms so we could use them to go to the bathroom. There were 6 shower rooms so that helped speed up the process of all the women getting to the bathroom and back on the bus. I thought that was really neat of him to do that. After the first 30-60 minutes on the bus yesterday it became really quiet as quite a few of the people fell asleep and slept most of the trip from Nashville to St. Peters.

Well I guess I should make sure everything is packed and ready to go. As we drop off our bags this morning we need to put them in 3 different areas as the driver is loading the bags for Lincoln first, Omaha second, Council Bluffs third and then of course the bags for the couple that go on during our quick pickup on the off ramp of the interstate will have their bags put on last so they are easy to get at when we drop them off.

Have a great day.
Thiry

That is one kewl shirt Bill has, one I haven't seen before. Can't wait to see some more of your pictures and your trip...all in due time. Wouldn't you know, yesterday was beautiful only with some very brief showers. How're your feet Thiry, sitting and probably not drinking as much water is likely the culprit.

Oh dear Lord, a massive suicide bombing in Turkey, likely a 12 to 14 year old! We'll see how long that little piece of info stays on the news feed - libtards don't like to admit kids do these things.

How is your Sis doing Sunny, and you?

Barb, where you able to wrap everything up?

And I hope you had a great Sunday yourself Sharon!

Well, Mooch is a guest at the emergency animal hospital. She was supposed to be evaluated today to check if she was going into heart failure (her Vet couldn't see her Saturday, I was okay with that, we suspected it for a couple of weeks). Late Sunday morning out of the blue she came up lame in her front paw, to the point where for a time she groaned and cried before falling asleep. Luckily the kid across the street was home; he came over picked her up and put her in the car. Yes she has it, more pronounced on the right side. What I didn't know was, it can affect your limbs which likely is what happened. Her belly started swelling Friday afternoon but it wasn't symptoms of bloat so I felt it could wait but it was getting bigger Sunday. Another side effect of CHF. So they were going to try to drain off some of that along with a very low dose of Lasix and rather than take her home, bring her back today for an echogram, it made sense to have her stay. She is a smiler, and wasn't really doing much of it lately. When they finished the initial exam the first thing both the tech and Vet said to me was she smiled at them! So she must've realized they were there to help her. So we shall see.

On a brighter note, Lucy Goosie is being fostered and did not go to the Humane Society! I don't know the details, but a neighbor stepped forward at the last minute. Happy dance, now if we could just find that pups parents.

Extra hugs and prayers for our military, their families and our Country! See you all at 3! (If not sooner)

Just about back to St. Peters, MO for our last night of the trip. Going to go to our room and prop my foot up for a while before going down to help set up for Bill's birthday party. My right leg and foot are swollen big time from sitting on the bus most of today.

I'll check in more layer while in the room.

I had planned to share some more pictures and put some info on here yesterday but didn't get back to the room til 12:30 am. I then got our clothes out for today and packed what I could so wouldn't have so much to do this morning. Good thing I did as DH woke me at 7:20 and we were to meet the bus at 8. As I got things finished up I had him take it down to be loaded as he isn't a packer. We all had a great time yesterday even with the monsoons. It rained while on the lunch cruise and poured as we gathered on the hurricane deck for music after lunch and show. It poured again as we were waiting for the bus and loading. Bill's wife stood at the end of the canopy with 2 umbrellas so we could board the bus without getting soaked. Needless to say she got wet in the process. It cleared as we got to the Hermitage until we were boarding the bus when it poured again. We got to and from the Johnny Cash museum without getting wet but due to the rain DH and I decided to pass on staying downtown on the Hockey Took highway and went back to the room. We walked next door to the Cracker Barrel for supper and it was raining but was a lite rain. As we got ready to walk back to the room it was pouring again so we waited a little while until it let up some. It was not raining for our walk to and from the Texas Troubadour theater for the Midnight Jamboree. The Midnight Jamboree was great and Barbara Fair child was absolutely wonderful. She is quite the character to say the least. DH and I got pictures with her and autographs of her and her husband.

I don't think the people that got their food late were too upset but haven't talked to any of them about it though.

More layer, maybe tonight if not too tired after the birthday party for Bill.

Have a great day.
Thiry

Safe travels and look for fun memories stashed away as finish up their condo. Take some pictures of the things that will go to the sale and it's okay to stash a trinket in your pocket.

It always makes me smile when I read that you got your folks out and it was an enjoyable one for your Mom.

Bristol race got rained out last night, so Sharon guess you all are going to get wet today too. Gosh the birds are having a ball, looks like a family with young ones just learning to fly. So cute.

Kelly: Oh no on the return of the rains! Hope Thiry and company still have a good time!

Sunday – well off to IL to hopefully finish the clear out of my parent’s condo. It is bitter sweet to be sure. **SIGH** But has to be done. Time for grieving later.

Took Mom and Dad out for super yesterday afternoon and Mom really enjoyed it. So it was a good time.

Ok, off and running

How quickly one forgets, they had me ease back into fiber to both surgeries, luckily it wasn't permanent. Thanks for looking it up Barb.

Weather cleared, we all were out on the restaurant patio, wind kicked up and down it came again. Short time later as we are leaving the monsoon returned, it was a long slow drive home. I feel so sorry for Thiry and her gang that the weather is so bad, certainly not Chamber of Commerce weather. But hey, it isn't Louisiana.

Sunny: I was puzzled by the low-fiber diet, so did some searching and now it makes a little bit of sense. Bottom line is that it is necessary so that the bowel doesn’t have to work so hard @ digestion. Don’t know if it’s a forever thing, but at least temporarily, it makes sense now..

Kslly: OH no on the late food and having to gobbe. That is not pleasant. Seems like a good idea to let the owner know about the situation, seeing as it has happened before.

I am just looking forward to being done (or at least close to it!) tomorrow.

OH my gosh . . . A son in the Air Force and Dad in the sand box. I hope that YO son’s crew is the one that gets to pick up his Dad, too. That would just be awesome.

Awww, sorry that the pup wasn’t micro-chipped! But with a good personality, here’s hoping that if the owners don’t claim her, that she goes to a good home.

Good luck to the vet visit for Mooch.

Tell me Thiry, were you tricking your friends into saying the magic word? I am sorry that we have had monsoons today though.

Those were wonderful seats you had! I've only been there once, we had great seats up in the balcony. Yes, it was way to short a visit and what made it better was she and her hubby are as great in person as on line, even funnier. That was just awful that so many folks got their food so late and had to gobble it down, hope it didn't put a damper on the rest of the evening for them. Not like you all just showed up to fill up the front porch. Sadly this is not the first time it has happened, happened to us last year with a large group...we chalked it up to one of the cooks quitting. In talking at breakfast this morning seems it is becoming a pattern. A friend knows the owner and is going to have a word with him - a g a i n.

High five to your Sis for being observant! I'm sure she is happy to be home. Continued recovery, it's okay to take it easy.

Safe travels tomorrow and here's to getting it done. I think it's smart to have an estate sale. Do not envy you one bit.

How's your week end going Sharon?

Let's see, lunch and dinner out yesterday, breakfast out this morning (behaved myself and did not overstuff on chz blintzes or bacon), will meet a group for Mexican to send her new Air Force son off to his permanent assignment. Nice this is on the way there. What they are hoping for is his plane and crew will be the one to go pick up his Dad who is in the sandbox later this year. How cool would that be? This is another kid who like our grandson decided to go straight into the military instead of college. This will take care of the fun budget for awhile.

Sadly, the pup is not chipped and the gentleman who kept her the past couple of nights could not keep her any longer and has taken her to the Humane Society. They do an excellent job and are able to do things that the animal control shelter can't. Tears still. I hope we can find her parents, if not she is charming enough she will go to a good home. Crazy she was found clean and healthy dragging her leash and no one knows anything. I take Mooch in for further evaluation on Monday.

Well the monsoon has stopped, the sun is back out so let me run a couple of errands before chow time. Geez it got really dark for awhile there. Hugs and Prayers see you all manana (going for Mexican)

I gave her many kudos for noting the error. So many folks may not have noticed.

She is feeling better, working on the low residue diet. She has been on a high fiber diet of late and now has to go 180 degrees in the opposite direction. Go figure.

Have a Blessed Sunday. I will see you all when we get home from Church.

OH my stars! That's HORRIBLE that your sis was given the wrong medication. SO GLAD she was aware and checked on it. That could have ended up VERY badly!

Glad she's home though. Hope she's feeling much better!

I loved the photo, Thiry! Thanks so much!!

Sis did get to go home yesterday. I talked with her earlier today and she was having to go to the pharmacy to take back some medication. They gave her the wrong medication. Lucky her, she saw it was a different color and shape so called them right away. Yikes!

It has been a peaceful Saturday here. We are having fish for supper so off of here soon to get the fish prepped.

I did get my biking in but have been pretty lazy for the most part.

Take care and glad everyone is doing well right now.

Hugs to all, Sunny

Thiry: Glad you guys had a good time! And thanks for the picture shares! Hope the rest of your travels are safe and you have a good time!

Kelly: Hope that that little pup is chipped. Poor little guy.

Sharon: Hope it's a good Saturday.

Saturday – not a good morning w/Mom but things evened out in the afternoon, thankfully.

Getting things ready so we can go to IL on Sunday. HOPING that’ll be the last trip, but realistically, could be one more.

Have a great Saturday!

BARB – I hope you have a safe trip to the condo and that you get everything done that you want to. Yes we are having a wonderful time

KELLY – It was so great to meet you and get a chance to talk. I wish we would have had a little more time also but that’s the way it is when you are on a bus tour as you have to go with the rest of the group. You are so right about the restaurant being so close and if it hadn’t been for the busy street I think they would have had us walk there instead of taking the bus but for safety reasons we all boarded the bus to go less than a block to the restaurant. You can now see why DH and I enjoy following Bill Chrastil as I really think he is an awesome guy. Well, hopefully things will work out for your little puppy soon. I currently am at 17 paper clips and one person owes me one tomorrow as he didn’t have his with him when we went to the Opry so said he would give it to me tomorrow which will put me at 18 for the time being.

SHARON – Yes fun was had by all and even the people that were inside the restaurant would stop and watch for a short time as they were leaving. Bill put on a great show in the little time he had to perform at the restaurant.

SUNNY – Hoe things are going well for you and that your sis was able to go home today.

Another fun day on the trip. We had lots of fun on the bus between St. Peters, MO and Nashville. At one point Bill headed to the back of the bus and as he was walking back there Kaye (the trip organizer) got on the microphone and asked Bill what he was doing. While he was in the restroom word was passed to applaud him when he came out. Needless to say when Kaye headed to the back of the bus a short time after Bill returned he got on the microphone and commented the whole time she was walking to the back, Then it came time for his wife to head to the back, she took a few steps then jumped as if she was expecting to be goosed or something. As she walked to the back Bill also commented like he did when Kaye was walking to the back. As she got to the restroom door and entered the bus driver moved the bus to the shoulder so that the tires were on the strips that they no put on the side to wake people up if they are drifting too far towards the shoulder making it almost sound like someone was farting. The movie The Highwaymen was playing on the DVD system in the bus and when the songs were being sung most everyone on the bus was singing along.

Then there is the paper clips. When we were getting started Thursday a bag of paperclips was passed around the bus. We were each instructed to take 10 paper clips and attach them to our name tags. We were given a secret work for the day and any time we got caught saying that word we would lose a paperclip to the person that caught us saying it. Thursday’s word was “music”. Needless to say being on a bus with an entertainer and not being able to say the word music is hard. Bill lost all his paper clips within the first couple hours. Friday’s secret word was Bill. Needless to say every time someone would call out Bill’s name they would lose a paperclip so other names were devised to get his attention without saying his name. So far I haven’t lost any paper clips (even though I have mentioned Bill’s name a couple times but the people I was talking to didn’t catch it) and have gained 7 so far and am owed one tomorrow for catching someone saying Bill. He didn’t have his paper clips with him when we went to the Opry.

The Opry was FANTASTIC. Supper took longer than expected which made us run a little late getting to the Opry so by the time our tickets were picked up and handed out, we got through the security line, got drinks and found our seats we missed the first 5 minutes of the show. We were on the floor just to the right of the center seating section and were in the 7th row. DH and I were sitting on the isle side near the center seating section.

Well, I guess I should be getting to sleep as we meet the bus at 8 in the morning to start out day. This is going to be our busiest day so I’d better rest up. I’m also seeing that my feet are starting to swell so need to get them up for a while also to hopefully get some of the swelling down. I had the same thing happen last year on our bus trip to Branson.

Have a great weekend everyone.
Thiry

Kelly, sorry for you and that poor little guy that you didn't find his owner. Hope they reconnect tomorrow.

Barb, hope Mom had a good day. Hope you get all in order so you can get a lot accomplished on Sunday.

Sunny, hope you are doing well, and your sis is home again.

Too short a visit Thiry! Great company and entertainment.

Now as long as you don't lose any of those clips.

Well, sad face here. We thought we found the parents of the puppy that was found yesterday dragging her leash through our 'hood. The guy was so excited when he saw her picture on craigslist (one of several places we have placed her pic) he didn't look to see if she was male or not. His is a male and Lawrd they could be litter mates they are so close alike. So the hunt is on to find a foster until we find her owner. We should have taken her in this morning to have her scanned for a chip as planned. So let me go read Sharon's Friday Frenzie and get working on the puppy project. Sigh.

Olympic Gold for you Sharon, luved it!

Kelly, DH and I had a great time at supper. Bill performed most of the time we were there and I believe Kelly really enjoyed his performance. Posted our picture earlier. Heading to the Grand Old Opry. More later.

Kelly, I have gained 3 more paperclips since we parted at the restaurant.

Okay, I'm running a bit behind so it may be closer to 5 before I get there Thiry so save me a seat. You will laugh when you see how far you have to go to the restaurant (literally across the street, but a dangerous road to cross).

Got to scoot, lunch meeting with fashion show went way y y y long and got some stuff to do. I'll tell you all about it later. Nothing serious, more like keep your paws crossed, it involves possibly reuniting a pup with their owner.

I'll have my sumthing with Thiry and her hubby later...

BARB Yes the trip to the chiro went well. I was having some tingling in my shoulder/neck area and that has subsided quite a bit since the adjustment. Thanks, so far it has been quite fun.

KELLY Ok, we are meeting the bus at 4:15 to head to the restaurant. I will make note of those places and let the others know about them. Less than 24 hours now but the party has already started for us. We have had a really fun night after arriving at the motel this afternoon. I cant wait!!! I didnt realize that the busses had hostesses. That would have been a really interesting job. Oh that is great, heres hoping that the heat and humidity stays lower for the next couple days. Yes most all of us are prepared for that stuff as we were kept updated for the last week that there may be rain while we are in Nashville.

SHARON I just cant imagine either of us letting you down on any of those aspects. I wanted to share a video but it wont let me so had to settle for the pictures. The video was of Bill and the bus driver with their shells and hula skirts dancing while Bill was singing. The Margaritas and leis party tonight was a blast and the margaritas were great also (a little strong too).

SUNNY Good to hear that your sis is feeling better. Prayers that she is able to go home tomorrow.

Well, we made it to St. Peters, MO safely. It was an eventful trip though. It started with the bus being about 15 minutes late to the Omaha pickup point as some of the people in Lincoln went to the wrong place so it caused them to be late leaving Lincoln. Even though they were late getting to out pickup point we were all there and loaded the bus immediately so we left almost on time. When we got to Council Bluffs for the next pickup it was decided that a bunch of the group from Lincoln were already needing to use the restroom so we spent more time there than planned. We finally go t on the road and had some fun games on the trip to Platte City for lunch with a short pick up at the Hamburg, IA exit and I mean short stop. We actually stopped on the exit ramp and the people got out of the car that had brought them and got on the bus. When we were getting to Platte City we were informed that we were getting a new bus so in addition to the time for everyone to use the restroom and get lunch we ended up waiting for the new bus and then everything had to be transferred to the new bus. By the time we got all this done and got back on the road we were actually 3 minutes ahead of schedule which is really hard to believe. After a stop just before Columbia, MO at a rest area for bathroom break we were back on the road to St Peters. The bathroom at the rest area was different as when someone washed their had then went to the blow dryer the next person couldnt wash until the dryer stopped as the water wouldnt run while the blow dryer was going. We all decided it had to be a man that designed that bathroom. LOL
DH and I had supper then walked about a block to Dollar Tree to get him some allergy medicine and me some different denture adhesive as the stuff I used this morning had quit working by the time we were eating lunch so when we had supper I was getting food under my partial which isnt a comfortable feeling. DH found the medicine he wanted and started looking at the box. I asked what was the matter and he said that the medicine wasnt marked. I looked at him and said it is $1.00. He said are your sure and at that point I pointed to the sign that said Everything is a Dollar. Needless to say when the items were rung up the total was $2.15 so DH said, See it was more than $1.00.

The video I wanted to share but couldnt was of Bill and the bus driver dancing while Bill was singing while wearing their hula skirts and shells. The bus driver kept scratching under the shells and at one time made the comment I dont know how you women do this. He was really having a great time and even had a drink before his 8 pm cut off since we are to be on the road at 8 am and he isnt allowed to drink within 12 hours of starting his drive. He even took the microphone from Bill at one point and told a joke involving Bill and made the comment that the more tequila he drinks the better Bill looked. We all were laughing, singing, clapping and having a great time. We need to be up and on the bus between 7:30 & 8:00 am to finish the drive to Nashville. More live music tomorrow night including Bills acoustic performance at Johnny As before we head to the Opry.

If anyone is interested in the video I did post it on Facebook so you can find it there if you have Facebook and are interested in the video.

Have a great week everyone.
Thiry

Sunny your hubs gets a medal from me...that bread is a challenge so tell him I said not to be so hard on himself. Afterall, there are some of us that can screw up even a bread machine. Making my mouth water, warm with unsalted butter slathered all over it and a glass of wine maybe.

Funny how we all are having sghetti.(and red beans and rice was on the radar too) I remember it being a weekly meal but don't remember it being Prince. I like that zucchini, but when it is raw it is hard to eat too much of it for some reason. Of course who can resist when it is loaded with all kinds of good eats, hey isn't that why we fix zucchini or any other veggie? I'm seriously considering getting one of those dodads.

Wow 13#'s!!! She must not be on constant IV's, which is a good thing. Everything crossed for a trip home tomorrow.

Thiry, I managed to lower the temp and humidity but we may have some stuff falling from the sky.

Finally getting around to my sumthin, see youse guys tomorrow! Thiry I really will see ya and hubby... emoticon

Sometimes for me I will have spiralized zucchini in place of pasta. I love it. Maybe not everyone's cuppa pasta, but I like it.

Hot, hot, hot here today and it probably is where you all are also. I am ready for fall (but not Winter). So glad to get my walking done indoors today. I went into Quincy and met some friends for lunch then stopped by the hospital to see my sis. Looks like she might be coming home tomorrow. We will know in the morning. She is feeling better and has lost 13#'s. Yea! One good side effect of not getting to eat. I definitely do not want her diet.

DH made French Baguettes today and they look so good. He is so hard on himself but I think they will be OK. I am making Spaghetti with lots of good fresh veggies.

Enjoy your Frozen Hot Chocolate.

I think that's one that is on Jas's "radar!"

Yes, for sure, if I see no evidence of an oil leak, they are BUSTED! so, will keep monitoring and watching.

Ok, sipping on a Frozen Hot chocolate. Uh huh . . . attitude adjustment for sure.

Barb, think I'll join you today. Definitely feel like SUMTHIN' - Know what I'm sayin?!
As for the oil leak, sometimes they don't screw the oil filter on tight, and it can "drip". That happened to us once. If you don't continue to see any evidence of a leak, I'd be suspect about the shop.
Happy Fiday Eve! That's cause for celebration right there! emoticon

By the way, we test drove the Ford Fusion Hybrid a couple of times and liked that.

Thursday – Had a pretty good day yesterday. Started out rainy, but then the sun came out. That was nice! The weather wasn’t too hot either. And the humidity lessened despite the rain earlier.

Well, FRIDAY EVE. Wahoo.

Kelly: I had that exact same thought that maybe they didn’t tighten something when the oil was changed OR maybe they said that thinking Jas would panic and go for whatever expensive fix they recommended. Oh well, so far . . . NADA! NOTHING!

They had hostesses on the Greyhound buses! OH MY. I traveled on the Greyhound bus from my school in Rochester, MN to IL (and back) and was lucky to remain ½ way sane, because there was ALWAYS a group that was picked up in around Lake Delton that was from St. John’s Military Academy. LORD they were so rowdy it was not unusual for the driver to have to pull over at least twice to quiet them down. PHEW

Thiry: Have a safe, FUN travel!

Sharon: Seriously . . . you had Italian too! BWAHAHAHA. Yes, that’s the one! Prince Spaghetti Day – Wednesdays.

Jas hasn’t expressed an interest in any particular car . . . yet. But he has a Ford and he likes it. Not enamored of his Milan, but he’s the one who has to like it.

Today’s choice is either Frozen Hot Chocolate or another Orange Creamsicle. We’ll see what she feels like. As for me . . . well, right about now . . . ANYTHING will do! Oh no . . . is that bad?????

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y'all @ 3 pm!

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Mornin' ladies! Well, great minds do think alike. We had Italian Sausage Tortellini last night! Hubby's choice. Yes, Wednesday was Prince Spaghetti night. They certainly hit a home run with that ad campaign if we're talking about it 40 years later! emoticon

So Barb, what kind of car is Jas wanting to get? Hope all goes well with mom today. What's the happy Hour Choice today? I'm having a hard time getting away from my Bourbon Cherry Smash even though it's summer.

Thiry, and Kelly, we're trusting the two of you to party hearty and represent the finest traditions of laughter and merriment along with liquid libations of our little group! Have fun! Remember, if you have a smartphone you can snap a picture and upload it right here!

Sunny, hope things are continuing to improve for Shar, and you are feeling better, too.

Off to run errands today and check on DS's house. He's with the family this week.

Catch y'all later.

For sure, everyone there would need sumthin sumthin if we all managed to get together - even at a repair shop! We could just sit back and sip while we watch. A dye in the oil, clever. Wonder if they just didn't tighten something after they worked on his car?

Thiry I remembered that they didn't take reservations except for large groups and I would be surprised if they are completely slammed at 5. Your tour host must be familiar with this place to be playing there, maybe he already has a big following here? If your group gets hungry Saturday night between or after events, just walk through the back side of the parking lot to the Scoreboard Bar. Great chow there too. Or the Nashville Palace. I'm so excited!

That's a great way to start a long trip, tune up, mani and pedi. And you are leaving the driving to someone else. I'm laughing and I'll have to tease my cousin about this. Back in the 60's she was a hostess on either Greyhound or Trailways, yes, way back when they actually had them. What a great way to see the country!

Will check in later, hugs and prayers!

Kelly

Sharon: I hope it’s less than a leak on the Milan! We shall see. They put dye in the oil, so they’ll (or we’ll) be able to tell.

Kelly: I don’t know. BUT the car gods are obviously not happy!!! , . . M . . . G. IF we went to the shop @ the same time, we’d better have a little sumthin-sumthin for the owners . . . AND US! LOLOL

Mom was back to her frozen hot chocolate today.

Ohhhhh tonight was spaghetti and sausage here, too, for supper. Wasn’t it “Wednesday . . . Prince Spaghetti Night” that used to be advertised.

Thiry: hope your chiro tune up went well!

BARB – Yes homemade jerky is really hard to resist. I was telling DS tonight about making the jerky to take along and he said something about getting a dehydrator to make some of their own and I told him that they are more than welcome to borrow outs as that is something we don’t use every day. He then said something about not having a slicer and I told him that all he needs to do is to partially freeze the meat and then slice it. It usually slices quite well. Yes meeting Kelly is going to be a big bonus. I never dreamed that I would meet any of my Spark friends in person so this will be a really big bonus of the trip. I am glad that coloring and puzzles help calm your mom down. It must be quite a relief to know that these activities will help. Hoping that Jason’s care doesn’t have a leak.

KELLY – If you called Johnny A’s I’m sure you probably got the same info that I received yesterday. They have entertainment every night, only require reservations for larger parties, and otherwise seating is first come first served. I am guessing that if you are there when we arrive you can just join DH and me when we are seated. I didn’t think to ask how busy they thought they would be about 5 pm but as you said at that hour it shouldn’t be a problem. I am hoping to pack the bag and take it to the car tonight so all I have to worry about in the morning is the last minute items and the cold food. I don’t have to worry about my boss trying to keep me late, as a matter of fact if I had been done with the stuff I really needed to do and asked to leave early he would have told me to get out of there. I can go in one day and say something came up and I need tomorrow off and he would say no problem. I have said to almost anyone that will listen, “I have the greatest boss in the world”. You are so right about the jerky. It has been really hard to resist and most of the time I have taken my partials out in the early evening right after supper so I can’t eat the jerky. LOL thanks for trying to order less humidity as I don’t like the humidity. Tonight is mainly making sure dishes and laundry are done, cleaning the bathroom and packing. I can sleep on the bus tomorrow so that is a plus since we don’t have to worry about driving.

SHARON – yes I am getting really excited about meeting Kelly as well as the whole trip. It is going to be a fun 5 days. Saturday is going to be really busy but the rest of the time will be more relaxing. We have 2 pool parties on this trip with live music at both parties. So does that go for having cats also?? I have 4 cats so I wouldn’t be drinking alone either especially since the one wants to sit on my lap almost as soon as I sit down and another that loves to sit on my shoulder. No, not on the road until 7 am tomorrow (Thursday).

SUNNY – I am so glad to hear that your sis is doing better. Thanks for mentioning photos as that is one thing I didn’t have on my list to make sure that we packed. I quickly added it to the list when reading your message. DH is a phot buff so I am sure there will be hundreds of photos from this trip. Probably more than we will be able to share. Sorry to hear about your son losing his house to the flooding. One good thing about cats is that you are able to leave them alone longer that you can a dog. Glad your cousins are safe from the flooding.

Well busy day today. When I left work at 3:30 I headed to the chiropractor for a “tune up” since I hadn’t been there for some time and figured it would be nice to make sure everything was in alignment before leaving in the am. Then I went to the spa for a mani/pedi before heading home. I got home and started some laundry as DH purchased new shorts for the trip and I like to wash everything before wearing anything, put clothes away and started getting some of my clothes together. I then put water on my orchid to water it while I got things ready to head to my DS’s house. I took the orchid to them to water on Saturday for me as this orchid is in a large glass vase and only get watered twice a day for 30 minutes then pour the water off. It is in the middle of a second blooming since I got it around mother’s day. I also left DS the keys to the apartment and car so he can check on the car and feed the cats and check their litter box. I am getting ready to clean the bathroom then pack my clothes and hopefully take the bag to the car yet tonight. DH is sitting in the chair sleeping so I have a feeling I will be putting his clothes in his bag in the am as he is taking his shower so another reason to have almost all my stuff done tonight.

Well better get busy so I can get some sleep and be able to get up in time in the morning. I will check in as I can while on vacation.

Have a great week everyone.
Thiry

What's going on??? A couple of folks on the SparkNashville team are having car issues; just this morning I reminded myself I need to take mine in to check the transmission, somebody dust the air with car trouble? Can you imagine that shop if we all lived near by and came in at the same time!

Best they be cautious with your Sis, frustrating as it is continued good vibes and prayers for a trip home on Friday.

What was your Mom's libation today Barb? You mentioned creamsicle saw something for a creamsicle mimosa but was unable to load the whole recipe, looks like sparkly stuff (proseco maybe), pineapple juice and sherbet.

For the most part today was really nice, cooler and less humid because of cloud cover. Then the sun came out and changed it but that was late afternoon.

Fixed Italian sausage and sghetti for dinner, enjoying a glass (or two) of wine. We saw the same shirt Sharon, so that's my reason and I'll stick to it. I love the trick I learned about a year ago about not cooking pasta in a boatload of water. Just put the pasta in a pan, cover with enough water, maybe a little more than that, turn on the burner and let it rip. Comes to a boil quickly and cooks in a jiffy too. You have to fish it out but it is better than carrying hot water across the kitchen. Kept me fed when I tore up my hand and arm. Ummm, may take my second glass out on the front porch.

Hi Dee Ho!

Sunny, sorry to hear that your sis is still in the hospital, but agree with Barb. Better to make sure all is OK and then go home. Those intestinal things can change overnight - sad but true. Glad your cousins in NOLA are all right. Glad to hear your cousin is okay though.

Barb, I hear what you're sayin' about shopping. Heck that goes for almost anything now. The sales people know nothing - no experts like we had in the old days. . .

May it be something less than a leak Barb. That reminds me, I need to take my wheels in...check the transmission.

Hope your Mom has a good day, for sure have that sumthin sumthin this afternoon. Saw a shirt the other day: You aren't drinking alone if you have a dog.

Regarding Windows 10 sneak in the back door - there was something that "conveniently" updated you automatically if you receive automatic updates for your computer. The only way to stop it was to "disagree with the terms", and then uninstall the Windows 10 folder on your computer.

Thiry, I think you're on the road today, so hope you have a beautiful and safe ride down to Kelly's neck of the woods.

Missed 3PM, will most likely have something before dinner while we watch the news. God knows we need something to help kill the pain! emoticon

Take care everyone!

Glad your cousins in NOLA are all right.

Sorry to hear the discharge will be delayed, but better for her to be on the healing path then end up being re-admitted.

See y'all @ 3!

I did hear from my cousin. They are doing well. Said a brand new shopping center not too far from where she works is under water. Yikes!

I agree with you on the car and appliance shopping.

Sis is saying it will be more like Friday. Doc did not advance her diet. Ugh. I know she is frustrated but her care taker will check on the cat and make sure she is OK. Sis left food and water for her but didn't expect to be gone so long.

I have been dragging my feet this morning so headed to the sun room.

Hugs to all, Sunny

Kelly: Jas has been on the path for a new car for awhile. It is a small leak if it IS a leak, but think he’s ready to start looking. That’s fine w/me. I hate it, though/ Car and appliance shopping . . . JUST SHOOT ME. So we’ll see what happens.

OH GOOD! So no matter WHAT time I have a little sumthin-sumthin, I’m not drinking alone cuz I have Mr. Spot! BWAHAHAHA

Sunny: Hope your cousins in NOLA are all right. Such a tragedy.

And hope your sis does well on the clear liquid diet and is able to be discharged tomorrow. Bet she’s more than ready.

Good morning, team. Hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

I will call sis shortly to see how she is doing. Hopefully better.

I haven't heard from my cousins in Louisiana but will check with them today. I do know one son lost their house. Ugh.

It is so sad and such a shame - worst flooding since Katrina.

Take care and I will check in later.

Huggers, Sunny

Briefly poured about 3 miles from us yesterday afternoon, nada right here...humidity still hanging around even as the sun goes down. More of the same today.

May it be something less than a leak Barb. That reminds me, I need to take my wheels in...check the transmission.

Hope your Mom has a good day, for sure have that sumthin sumthin this afternoon. Saw a shirt the other day: You aren't drinking alone if you have a dog.

I thought windows7 was going away really soon, I would have held off too but it was like that unwelcome relative that just shows up.

Sunny hope your Sis had a good night.

Don't overwork yourself Thiry so you can enjoy the ride down south. Trying to order less humidity for youse guys!

Hugs and Prayers, see you all at 3, if not sooner. After all, I do have a four legger.

Wednesday – Jason worked from home yesterday to get his oil changed. He found out that he may have a leak. So he has to take it back for a re-check after several hundred miles. HOPE it’s not a leak, but it isn’t a bad one if it is.

Otherwise, a quiet day.

Carer here shortly. We’ll see how THIS day goes.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y'all @ 3 pm. Don't think we'll be sitting on the porch (raining), but going to have that sumthin-sumthin!

That's a great idea -- hadn't thought of red beans and rice to honor those in LA.

Had to go back and re-read the comment, but yes, it does seem counter-intuitive to be on a LOW fiber diet with the twisted bowel. Learn something new every day.

Thanks for the update on Sis, continued best wishes for her colon doesn't do the extended Twist play. I know, I would have thought the same with the fiber thing. Hard to know what to do anymore.

Funny, I thought about red beans and rice to honor La, to my surprise no beans in the house. Went to the store with that in mind, in addition to milk and TP managed to get those two but didn't go down that aisle so - maybe tomorrow.

Hugs and Prayers with a lot of luv thrown in too.

Thanks Barb.

Every time I see you signature, I think of a song we sing at church titled "Love is the Theme". It is "all about the love", isn't it? ....and I am so thankful you all love me cause I love you too.

Mom had a pretty good day today. Got her very involved in coloring and her puzzle, so that kept her settled down.

So glad to hear your sis is doing better. OH boy, but she has a few more days to stay in the hospital. Hope things are resolved by Thursday. Sending healing vibes.

Hugs

Barb, hope Mom did better today and was not as restless. It was suppose to be cooler here but still close to 90 but I think the humidity is down so that is good.

Sis is doing better. Doc was in and said the bowel was still twisted but the dye he gave her this morning went through the small intestine good so that is a good sign. He started her on clear liquids and tomorrow will give her a full liquid if she is doing well. Hopefully, the situation will resolve on it's own. He will do another x-ray on Thursday and if it all looks good, she can go home. He told her she needs to be on a low fiber diet as this is a recurring problem and it could be aggravated by high fiber. I would have thought just the opposite.

Thiry, enjoy your vacation and meeting Kelly. Don't forget photos! K?

Sharon, Good luck with the puter for sure. Hope it goes well for you.

Off to finish my supper - Red beans and rice and corn on the cob.

Love you all, Sunny
