Sunny: So glad to hear you're feeling stronger! That's great.

Mom's early mornings have been not so good, but then by afternoon she's better. But confusion reigns again @ night (Sundowners).

That's good news that your basement is dry. What a lot of work it is when water gets in.

The love is returned!

HUGS and see y'all tomorrow.

Thiry, thanks so much for the suggestions. I love them and plan to put them in my fitness journal. So proud of you on the 5K. Way to go! emoticon You have first place in my books!

Barb, Hope your Mom is doing well. I hate Poseys too. Glad you are home and resting. Glad Jason is back home also.

The basement is doing better - almost completely dry and the sump pump is working. We are thankful as it sure could have been worse.

Sharon, sounds like you had such a nice time - Easter Egg hunt and all. Sorry you and your DH came home with a bug. Ugh!! But glad to hear you are feeling better.

I am getting ready to do the Spring 5% Challenge. I feel bad that I wasn't able to participate in the other challenge after asking you all to join me. Doctor's orders...
Finally, feeling strong enough to move forward with this challenge and looking forward to it.

Take care and know I love you all, Sunny

Well, visit over. . . but it was nice. Came home with sore throat and runny nose. Obviously something in the air, as DH and DS were also bothered. DS spent Sun night and most of yesterday in bed. Mine kicked in last night around 9. . .

Barb, you are right about the medical transport. It is absolutely insane on what they charge just for a visit to the Drs. office! My mom refused to do it - but she caved one time when I was really, really sick, and could not get her where she needed to go. Other news is good, Barb. You'll soon have them there so you can oversee things for them.
Glad Jason made it home safe!

Sunny, Thiry, and Kelly hope you both are doing well.

Lots of hugs to you all!

Tuesday – many phone calls yesterday, but making progress. Medicare conference is Wednesday. Requested that the hip exam with the surgeon be moved forward in light of the fall. She agree. (Isn’t that nice!) Sooooo, also have a call out to get information re: medivan transportation from IL to WI. Now THAT ought to be a budget buster, but OMG . . . so worth it!

Nice day till the afternoon . . . got up to 50. The sun was filtered, but it was still SUN. Then we had a brief shower around 4 pm. All in all, not bad!

Late arrival home for Jason. Flight landed after midnight and he got home around 2 am. OY

Thiry, you need another weekend to recoup from your week! emoticon

Barb, hope you recouped from your road trip, and hope Jason has an uneventful trip back.

Kelly hope you are enjoying your family time.

Sunny, hope you are doing better, too.

Did an early Easter Egg hunt with GD this afternoon. She did quite well, and had a lot of fun doing it. Got some cute pictures. Serenaded little GS tonight, and he seemed to love it.

Off to bed. See you all tomorrow. emoticon

Thank you Barb. It really felt great completing the 5K especially since last year at this time we didn't know if I would even be able to get off the oxygen let alone do anything that required any prolonged walking or standing. So needless to say completing this 5K was such an accomplishment for me.

Hope things continue to improve for your parents and that situation.

Take care
Thiry

BARB – What a scary trip. I just hate it when people don’t pay attention and pull into my lane when I am almost beside them. Glad you are all safe
KELLY – Yes I did get the pedicure and went for a manicure also. Trade off with DH as he wanted a fishing license so told him he gets the license and I get a pedicure. It felt so good as the gal that gave me the pedicure really massaged my legs (I did mention that I had walked a 5K the day before). The Beach Boys really put on a great show. I have seen them in concert twice now and enjoyed both of them. Back to my everyday business. I only got to the gym Tuesday and today. Congrats to your grandson also.
SHARON – After the 5K last Saturday I rested most of the rest of the weekend as my legs really hurt the rest of the day and on Sunday. Yes I am well it’s just been a very busy week. Enjoy the time with your son & family.
SUNNY – No not sick just walked a 5K last weekend. My very first 5K and afterwards my legs and feet were hurting. Congrats to your granddaughter on having the 12 credits as she enters college. It is interesting what they can do now days. My youngest son also took duel credit classes and had some college credits when he graduated high school. Great news about the CT results!!! So sorry to hear about the flooding of your basement but glad that nothing got ruined. Congrats to Joshua on going a week without a drink.

Here is a list of 10 great ways to get your water that I found and put in a blog several years ago. Sunny, I hope these help you with your hydration problems.
1. When you wake, start the day with a glass of water.
2. Keep a pitcher of chilled water in the fridge.
3. Always carry a bottle or jug of fresh water with you.
4. Avoid drinking a large amount of caffeinated beverages.
5. Take a few sips from a water fountain whenever you run into one.
6. Drink a glass with every meal even if you are drinking another beverage.
7. If you're hungry, drink a glass before you go for the snack.
8. Increase your fruit and veggie intake.
9. Order soup before your meal.
10. Plan ahead and make daily goals.
It’s been a really busy week. Monday after work I was tired but ran a couple errands then home to rest. Tuesday I made it to the gym and worked my second job. Wednesday I met DH at the doctor’s office after work then went to get meds picked up. The pharmacist said there were some problems with the prescriptions as called in so he was trying to get in touch with the doctor so would be a little while to get them. We ended up only getting part of them that night as they weren’t able to get in touch with the doctor since it was after 5. Thursday I went to see my BFF as I hadn’t seen her since the 5K last Saturday and she had surgery again Monday and I hadn’t seen her since the surgery. Friday I was really late getting off work then had to run to the store to pick up one of the meds we didn’t get on Wednesday then home to relax and get to sleep as I had to be at work at 5 am Saturday. I worked a good portion of the day then a jewelry party that night. Worked today and made it to the gym with DH who told me last night that we were going to go to the gym today.

Have a great week and hopefully I can make it here a little more this week.
Thiry

Sunday – POOPED! DD and I went to IL and visited Mom and Dad. Mom – confused. Eating better, but I’d bet she’s lost 10 lbs. But focusing on the fact she is eating better. Dad – exhausted. Cannot wait till she gets the “all clear” to make the trip up here so I can help!

We made it back safe and sound and I did well doing the whole drive (usually Jason and I split it). A bus almost creamed us as it swerved into our lane. OMG! Clara screamed and I wanted to but nothing came out. Thank heavens I was able to scoot into the right lane. Scary!

That’s about it. DAY OF REST today!

Ok . . . . update . .. maybe not so much a rest day. Got a call this morning that Mom “slid out of bed” @ 2:35 am. Apparently her bed alarm buzzed and she was already on the floor when the nurses arrived. Bed low position, so I am gold. Don’t know the status of the bed rails, but ASSUME that they’re going to say and chart that they were up – but have serious doubts about that one.

No injuries. They tried to call Dad on his cell phone. He doesn’t answer that unless he’s @ the nursing home. Advised that they need to contact him @ home in the future but indicated I would call Dad and inform him. Which I did. Also discussed it w/my brother.

Imperative to find out the status of her hip. Then the next plan is move her the hell out of there. Period.

Will not use Posey restraint. Suggested the following:

** Get her OUT OF THE ROOM DURING THE DAY

** Park her near the nurses station when Dad’s not there and she’s not in bed

** BEDRAILS UP!

** Have her on a toileting schedule so she doesn’t try to get up to do that unassisted

** Call bell should be REACHABLE!

** Needs at LEAST hourly checks

No chance to get her moved to a rm. That is closer to the nurses station, though she WAS moved yesterday to the room next door to where she was as she acquired a disruptive roommate. OY

So, that’s the news from here that’s fit to print . . . or not!

Sharon: Oh, I read in KathyJo’s blog that she had lunch w/a SP and DH passing thru. It was YOU and YOUR DH! Awesome.

Awwww, they do change dramatically in such a short period of time. Potty training – can test the patience! Yup . . . it’s peep before poop! LOLOL It is fascinating when babies discover their voices. They have so much to say!

Travel safely.

HUGS, to you Sunny, Kelly and Thiry. We’re outta here for IL. Back with y’all tomorrow.

On my phone - so short & sweet.

Sunny, so sorry to hear about your basement flooding. We had that happen about 20 or so years ago, and we had carpeting and stuff down there. What a mess! Glad you didn't really have much damage. On the flipside, so glad to hear about Joshua. Kudos to him, and an A for effort, too.

Barb, hope you girls had fun with your spa night! Safe travels tomorrow to & from. Glad you enjoyed the blog.

Kelly, hope you had a good day, and things went wellfor you.

Met my Spark friend KathyJo56, and her DH for lunch. We had to kill some time so we built it into the schedule. It's been over a year since we fist met, and it was so good to see each other again! We had a 2 hr break for lunch, and the 4 of us never stopped talking! A great time was had by all! We had a picture taken, and she may or may not have posted it. If not, I'll try to do it when I get back.

All is good here, and can't believe how much both GD & GS have changed in just 2 months!
In the midst of potty training with GD. Things are going OK - accidents happen, but for the most part she's doing good. Still problems with "the other end", but they are pleased with her progress. Little GS is just discovering his voice, and kind of "wails" in various pitches. DH has dubbed him the "storyteller". He's got he cutest little smile, and is wide-eyed with wonder.

Hugs to all!

Now,I gotta go read Sharon's blog.

Spa Night - I am so jealous. I have been cleaning and might need a spa night when I am finished.

Basement is not as big a mess as one might think. We don't have anything down there but some shelving and pickles I have canned. We brought up the card table and chairs last summer and they never made it back - thank goodness. The basement is mostly our storm cellar. We live in a Manufactured Home so it is our "hidy hole". hehehe

Our Son's friend is not here yet and if he doesn't get here today, he will be here in the morning.

Meant to tell you about Mr. Joshua. He calls almost every day on his way to work and Tuesday, he had not drank for a week. we are so proud of him . Trying gets an A+ in my books.

Friday – Jason is winging his way to Arizona till Tuesday on business. Soooo . . . tonight . . . Clara and I are having spa night.

Cold! Initially they predicted a warm up . . . but not happening! At least the sun is out and no precip.

Mom had a tired day. But cooperative w/physical therapy so that’s a positive.

Clara and I are going to IL Saturday. Sooooo it will be a long day, but have all I need together.

Sharon, I can not believe your little guy is already 2 months. Soak up all the "fun" and don't forget to take pictures. You know we love pictures. emoticon

Safe travels to both you and Barb. We will be home drying out the basement which flooded. Ugh. So glad it is just a storm shelter and nothing was damaged. The sump pump failed big time. Looks like we will be buying a back up pump.

Don't know what was wrong this morning but I woke up at 5 and just couldn't get back to sleep so may be a nap in my future today. I woke up thinking about the water in the basement - like I could do something about it at 5 am. Ugh....

Take care everyone and do have a FAB FRIDAY!

Sharon: Believe me . . . I am taking ME time tomorrow after Jason leaves. IT has been another day on the phone, but things are moving forward. Thank Goodness.

Clara and I are going to IL on Saturday, so it will be a busy weekend. That’s all right.

Have a wonderful time with the kids and grandies. Definitely family time trumps Friday Blog! Family is precious.

Sunny: So glad that the subdural is being absorbed! Wonderful. Yeah for not having to see the neuro again! And 2 mths. for the cardiologist. Prayers coming your way for the best.

It’s not easy to give up caffeine, but probably a good idea!

Congratulations Kelly on your Grandson's scholarship. That is absolutely wonderful!

Good news - finally. Had the follow up CT today and visit with the Neuro Surgeon. The Subdural hematoma is almost gone. PTL for this.....I have been released from him and do not have to see him again. Yea....Now to get all the heart stuff behind me. I don't see the Cardiologist until May so praying for the best. I am going to try my best to give up coffee. According to the information I got from the Cardiologist, I need to give up the caffeine. Ugh. I love my coffee and hot tea.

Barb, sounds like things are going good for you, your Dad and your Mom. Keep us posted. Hope Jason has safe travels to Arizona and back home.

Hugs to all, Sunny

Barb, that is such good news!!! I am doing my happy dance for you, and it's not even Friday yet! Speaking of that, it's Friday Eve! emoticon Tomorrow when you get all your errands and chores done, Barb, curl up with a good chick flick or a good book, and make yourself a couple of delicious sumthin sumthins and just enjoy some "me" time!!!! Why not try those Boozy Shamrock Shakes?

We'll be seeing the kids and grand-kids this weekend, and I am so excited! That being said, I'm not sure how much I'll be on. Also not sure about my Happy Hour blog for tomorrow. I may just skip it, but check just to make sure. The "dutiful me" will want to do it.

Sharon: O . . . M . . . G . . . I love the chunky bleu cheese on the lettuce wedge too! Soooooo delicious.

Thursday – rain, freezing drizzle/rain, snow in the morning yesterday, but then the sun ended up coming out! Supposed to be a little warmer today. PHEW. Want to get an outdoor walk in.

Feeling like plans are a little closer to being gelled, so that’s a bit of a relief! Ok, it’s a HUGE relief.

Dad is agreeable to stay here and I’ll probably go with choice #1 for Mom’s continued rehab. If and when the time comes they can be together in a condo w/24/7 care for Mom, we’ll do it together, Dad and I. I just have found talking with him that will work best. The facility for Mom is only 10 minutes away, so no problem going there anytime!

Thursday and can see the weekend.

Jason leaves tomorrow morning for Arizona. Won't be back til Tuesday morning (early, just after midnight).

Sunny, hope all goes well with the CT scan today.

Barb, sorry about your mom's confusion. I hope things get better for her once she gets out of the hospital. Freezing rain? Hope things have warmed up some by now.

Kelly, emoticon on your GS emoticon ROTC scholarship! emoticon

Do you know that iceberg wedge salads are making a comeback? I've seen them in a couple of restaurants on the menu. Love mine with chunky blue cheese dressing and some crumbled bacon bits.

Been a busy beaver today tying up loose ends. Made sure all is in order to get our taxes done in a couple of weeks. We'll be seeing son & family in the next few days, and can't wait!

Catch y'all later - got a few more things to do before DH gets home!

Wednesday – Mom had a good day, but spirals down in the evening. Agitated and confused. OY

Cold today and freezing rain, so waiting for the temp to get above freezing!

Kelly: Yes, I do love ice berg lettuce (back “in the day” I would cut it in wedges and thousand island dressing – don’t use that anymore, but still do like ice berg combined w/other greens).

Congrats to your GS on the ROTC. Wonderful!

Sunny: Hope you’re doing well.

Hope you’re safe in the storm!

Good for you if you get a bike ride in.

Wishing you all the best w/the CT.

Sharon: Hope all is well.

See y’all @ 3 pm

Have a great CT tomorrow, Sunny! Got everything crossed for best results. I thought Springfield MO was closer to you.

I think your Granddaughter is wise to start off small, it only matters where she ends it and KU is great, with those credits she'll be there sooner.

OK, must be brag on our Seniors Day. Our grandson was offered a Navy ROTC scholarship to U of Florida. Don't know the details. I think he was hoping for it to be for Auburn instead and he was also accepted at a small school near Cape Kennedy (last year), forget the name; so don't know what he will decide on. With no whopper scholarship Auburn is out.
Don't you know his Dad is just about ready to burst with pride; I had to go put on my Navy shirt.

My favorite little coffee sammie shop had a great salad yesterday, lots of shrimp and veggies and a bit of romaine. That was the first thing I said when she asked what I thought of it...love that it isn't loaded with iceberg or any kind of lettuce. Of course all that shrimp was a plus. Actually it annoys the daylights out of me (has for a very long time actually) what they charge for a salad anyway. People pay it so they can, I won't order one. Feel sorry for all the vegetarians out there, that and pasta is over priced.

Will miss 3 o'clock, helping a friend who doesn't know how to tell time and it has put me way behind. If it didn't need to be done today she would have had to wait a week.

Sunny, thanks for the explanation. And I agree with Barb. Ratcheting it down as you need to is probably the best thing right now.
emoticon to your GD on her college acceptance! emoticon She is almost 1 year into her program before she even sets foot on campus! But then, in my humble opinion, that would just shorten that fun college experience! emoticon On the flip side she can take the minimum number of credits and not stress out over course overload!

Barb, I agree about the iceberg lettuce. I remember when I was in my teenage years that you could buy iceberg lettuce 4 heads for a dollar! And that was pretty much the norm. Guess that's before the government got involved in everything. Yeah, I think it's a crime that most places charge $5 for a side salad that is iceberg lettuce with a few shredded carrots, a thin slice of cucumber, and "maybe" a grape tomato strewn over it all. Actually went to a restaurant last week that "sliced" the grape tomato to make you think you were getting more! emoticon I pass now, too. . .

Kelly hope you have safe travels wherever you are headed. We will be spending time with our family, too, and I'm so excited!

I'm also with you, Sunny, on the storms. I hate them all the time, and that's the second reason I like winter. Cold temps, no humidity, no storms, clean air - so no allergies for DH to contend with, and no yard work. Let's see, I'm sure there's more . . .

Enjoy your day and we'll catch ya later! emoticon

Good Morning.

Thanks for the comments on Alex. College? Wow - she just grow up way too fast. She will go two years to the Community College then transfer to KU. At least that is the plans for now.

We did get some very heavy rains last night and have some in the forecast today. I do believe Springfield, Ill ( which is 2 hours east of us) and Springfield, Mo.(which is about 5 hours Southwest of us) both got hit harder than we did. The severe storms are the thing I dislike the most about Spring. A friend of mine lives in Alabama and they got snow yesterday. Weird to say the least.

I am planning on biking today and possibly walking. I just have some fears and rightfully so.

Tomorrow is the CT. Yea, I am so ready to find out that the hematoma has been absorbed - hopefully. Think positive thoughts.

Take care and know I love you all, Sunny

Interesting Sunny, at least you have something to work from. Slow and easy, deep breaths and smile.

That is just absolutely wonderful news on your Granddaughter! Wow, 12 credits!!! Smart indeed, and a beauty as well.

Hope the snow is gone, gone, gone in IL and did you say you had a dusting too, Barb?

Interesting link Sharon. Some things just taste better with that crunch that only iceberg can give. Well, the other lettuce folks managed to convince us that iceberg was the worst thing we could put in our mouths, makes you wonder how we ever grew up eating that stuff and now they have to admit that it's okay. I honestly think our food was way healthier way back when and iceberg gave you what you needed without breaking the bank. Yet it drives me nuts that restaurants charge so much for something loaded with iceberg, I pass thank you.

Sunny I see the Springfield area was hit with heavy thunderstorms yesterday and more today, hope it doesn't head up your way. We will have some ugly weather tomorrow, hopefully it will blow through here after my flight out tomorrow afternoon.

Hope all is well Thiry, and will do my best to join youse guys at 3. Huge hugs...

Well, I had help from this "information sheet" from the doctor's office. emoticon

Our Son just called and our Granddaughter is officially enrolled in College. They went to a scholarship luncheon today and enrolled her before they left the campus. Today, kids can take college credits while in HS and she is entering college with 12 Credits. Amazing....

Just had to share that with you all.

Sharon, I am not walking briskly at all. I had the setting on 2.5 MPH and lowered it to 2.3 MPH. It is just this problem that I am having with my heart. In paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT), abnormal conduction of that electricity causes the atrium, and secondarily the ventricles, to beat very rapidly. It is referred to as paroxysmal, because the rapid rate can occur sporadically and without warning and may also stop on its own. The rapid heartbeat may last a few seconds or many hours.

Was going to walk today but had an errand to run so didn't get it done.

Thanks so much for your support.

Hugs, Sunny

Sharon: YES! Have that on my list of “tools” to find something! Thank you!

For sure ice berg lettuce has more water than the others. Downside . . . less nutritious. I mix it in w/spinach, arugala,

Barb, good luck with researching home health care for your mom! Check Angie's List as they have reviews for healthcare now.

Sunny, are you trying to "walk briskly" on the treadmill or just "walking"? Maybe take your speed down to Level 4 on the BORG Perceived rate of exertion scale I posted, or even lower if need be. Keeping moving is the goal, not cardio now. And as you walk at a comfortable rate, you will gradually increase your stamina again. Take it easy on the exercise - it'll come.
How about adding watermelon, celery, and other foods that are high in water content to your diet? Here's a great link for you:
www.health.com/health/gallery/0,,207

014_4,00.html

Who knew iceburg lettuce is has a higher water content than the others? I quit eating it in favor of romaine, and mesculun greens, but myabe I'll add it back into my diet once again!
Keeping you in prayers . . .

Kelly will have to check out your FB page to see your pic!

Thiry, hope you are well.

Off to do some housework . . . emoticon

I am still having problems staying on top of the hydration. I need to do something to get on top of it. Any suggestions? I have not been back to the treadmill but did read an article that if my pulse gets high, I can cough and it will usually return to normal. Go figure. A friend thinks I need to do normal activities (walking on the treadmill) as the cardiologist needs to see exactly what is going on. It is still a little scary as I don't like the way I feel when my pulse gets high.

Thursday is my CT to see how the hematoma is doing. I am praying that it is much smaller and on it's way to be completely absorbed. I will see the neuro surgeon after the CT and this hopefully will be my last visit with him. Hope - Hope - Hope.

Kelly, I loved the photo of your and your friend on FB at the concert. What fun! I would have loved that concert and so glad you got to go. It sounded like a great evening.

Barb, where is Mom? Is she home? Any more talk of moving her closer to you? Hope you can find her some good home health care. I find most of the people who provide home health are good and reliable. Do keep us posted.

Thiry, I must have missed something. Have you been sick? Injured? Hope you are better.

I am off to the sun room to work on my Sunday School lesson. I am subbing for a woman who is going with the youth group to Branson for the Young Christian Weekend. It should be a fun outing for the youth. After I work on my SS lesson, I will bike and walk on the treadmill. First, I am off to get some hydration.

Take care team and know I love you all.

Snow? I think the nicer days has us all confused, including mother nature. Glad it isn't sticking though.

They didn't have dancing cuties on stage, although they looped many of the surfer girls footage on screen. At the very end during Fun, Fun, Fun they had a bunch of young ladies on stage but they were in street clothes, mostly dancing with each other. During one of his slow numbers, Mike brought out someone and danced with her briefly. Funny you mention the dancers, I said it would have been cute during one of the numbers to have had gals wearing the late 50's and early 60's suits.

Good luck with your continued search for great health care for your Mom. Do not envy you.

Thiry, hope you are completely recovered, onward and upward.

Sunny and Sharon, all is well with you both?

Barb, glad you had safe trip, but sorry your mom's confusion kicked in.

Kelly, I'll bet you had "fun, fun, fun" 'til the end of the concert! Voices are still good, but last time we saw them I just couldn't get in to those cute little young things bounding around on stage with those late 60s-70ish geezers. To me it was just not right . . . almost creepy, if you know what I mean. I still like their voices and their music. I'll bet you were dancing in your seat!

Sunny, hope you are doing well with drinking your water, and that things have been better for you.

Thiry, hope you had a good weekend, too.

Monday – Well, Mom started out well, but by the time we left she was “out in left field” and not terribly cooperative. Obviously, no rationalizing with her in that state, but we had to leave. Brother called me later that she went back to bed and resting. I hope she sleeps the night.

Tired, but glad we went. Not great weather today . . . cold and . . . S-N-O-W. ACK!!

Barb, hope all went well with your Mom yesterday and that you have safe travels and great weather.

How great you got face time Sharon.

Thiry, hope you treated yourself to a pedi and massage. How are you feeling today?

Sunny how are you and your hydration doing?

Had a great evening last night. A NashvilleSpark friend put out a call to use her hubby's ticket to The Beach Boys concert last night...I quickly raised my hand, me, me, meeeee! Since I was first, I got to go. We grabbed a bite to eat first; headed downtown to the Ryman and the fun began. They had no opening act, just them for two long sets. There are only two of the originals touring and they have not lost their voices with age. I think one of the group was one that came on later, or he's just been with them quite awhile. The rest of the group are younger but fit in nicely. Even had a local musician sit in a few time, great sax player.

Quiet day today, so will see you all at 3! Hugs all around...

Kelly

Kelly, and Thiry - thanks for the video links. Forgot about the Unsinkable Molly Brown. Good movie! The article about the man doing a 5K each month for a year was a good one, too!

Got to Facetime with DS and GD this morning. My gosh, was she full of energy and BUSY! emoticon GS was sleeping as he had been more active in the early morning, and got tired out.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! Catch ya later. Out to help DH with some yard-work trimming back bushes and shrubs.

emoticon Thiry!!! You did it, blisters and all!!! Wowser. That was great time and to think you pretty much did three 5K's this week. I am just so danged proud of you, I'm ready to burst.

Go for that pedi and massage!

Had more than enough coffee yesterday and some great company for breakfast. That group is so much fun and many of them are well into their 80's and into their 90's. One gentleman, seriously does not look 94, plays golf as often as he can. The gal that introduced me to this group reminded me that it took months to get me to come with her, how she got me to the first meeting was she said something like, did I tell you we all like to eat out? They have a regular meeting and the rest of the month at least 4 times they eat out but they will gather at non scheduled places. Sippin' a cuppa joe right now, supposed to have brunch out but the place doesn't open til 11, I don't think I can make it that long. So will grab a bite now, and what I don't finish will bring home for later. It was their bread that I pigged out on on St. Paddy's Day.

Safe travels to see your Mom Barb, hope she had a quiet night. I'm wondering if having music on at night would help, since it helps during the day?

See all y'all at 3!

One thing that I forgot was that if I had planned to workout on Friday I would have intended to walk at the lake so since there was a brush fire there as I was coming home and heavy smoke from the fire I wouldn't have been able to do the walk anyway. Luckily they were able to contain the fire to a small area by getting on the outside and working their way toward the lake fighting the fire.

BARB – Good to hear that your dad is coming around to the thought of moving closer to you. Sorry to hear that your mom isn’t being taken care of like she should be, hope that situation changes soon.
KELLY – That place your mom was at sounds great. It definitely takes someone who has been through those situations to be the ones to make the necessary changes, so sad that is what it takes. Keeping records is the best thing. I rarely send anything out to anyone without a copy for myself because you never know what may happen. Good to hear that the bill is cleared up. Good to hear that you’re follow-up went well.
SHARON – MIA because of a really busy week.
SUNNY – Glad to hear that William got to play. Too bad the rules didn’t allow him to medal.

It’s been a really busy week. Sunday after working in the morning I came home and took a nap. Then DH and I got ready to go get some lunch but he headed out to the car empty handed even though I had asked him Saturday night to get a pile of stuff out of the apartment and to storage. I called him and he got angry that I would expect him to help with that at that time. I had already had a bunch of the stuff in the hall and carried it all out myself as well as my gym bag as we were going to head to the gym that afternoon. When he got angry with me I told him to do what he wanted I’m walking and took off across the street and into the recreation area. The first part of the walk was almost all uphill. I rested on a bench about a mile in then walked more. I came to a fork and was trying to decide which way to go and talked to someone else that was walking. I found that if I went to the left it was 7 miles around the lake and if I went to the right I should end up towards the entrance. I went to the right but after a little while I thought I just as well turn around and go back the way I came in. As I was turning around I looked at my pedometer and then again when I got home. The one way was 1.71 miles so I walked 3.42 miles Sunday.

Monday was in the 80’s so I thought after it cooled down I would walk at the lake again but when my computer showed 7pm, which was when I planned to walk, it was actually 8 pm and dark. I figured out that my clock setting was on Central America and didn’t change with daylight savings time. Tuesday between a trip to Lincoln for the dentist, working my regular job, stopping at my BFF’s to get some letters signed and in the mail and then working the evening it was too late to walk again. Wednesday I ran a few errands and then walked about an hour (2 miles). Thursday I went to the gym and walked 3 miles on the treadmill. I couldn’t believe that I ended up with blisters on both heals that night. The shoes are the same ones that I have worn almost every time I have gone to the gym since starting in January. When I took the left shoe off the sole pulled halfway off so when I got home that pair of shoes went into the trash. Friday I took the day off of exercising as the 5K was this morning.

My BFF and her daughter both wanted me to run part of the 5k but I told them I was walking. I started towards the front of the group and when I crossed the finish line I only had about 5 people cross after I did. My official results are that I finished 20 out of 20 for my age group and 423 out of 423 overall. I averaged a little over 19 minutes per mile during the walk. I know it isn’t where I finished but the fact that I did the race and actually completed it. As we were beginning my BFF was jogging and kept looking back at me. I told her to go ahead as I was walking. She did and finished about 20-30 minutes before me. After everything was over DH and I grabbed some brunch as I told him all I wanted to do was to rest so I didn’t feel like fixing lunch. After brunch we came home and I ended up falling asleep for about 2-3 hours. My legs are really achy right now. Earlier I told DH that a pedicure with leg massage would feel so great right now. Maybe tomorrow I might go get a pedicure with leg massage if my legs are still so achy. I think I am heading to the tub to soak in some hot water for a bit then take a shower.

Have a great rest of your weekend.
