Hey, all. I'm sitting here trying to get up the gumption to go upstairs and work out. One of my goals for this week is to use a piece of fitness equipment. I have plenty of that upstairs, so I need to get busy.

New dog is giving me problems. She's very headstrong! I just hope I can outlast her...

Prayers for each of you. We need to get through the hardships and look for the joys. I worked at the Physical Therapy Place today. It was good to see that some of the people were really doing better.

Ann is right and we need to keep the Lord in our heart and our minds. My mind can go faster that anything and get me into problems.

I have been good this week in the food area. No extra cooking food for visitors.

Take care.

Hi Liz: I pray for your success in all you do.....healthy motivations, financial, family, spiritual - remember you are a child of God. He will give you the desires of your heart.

Pray for me too, I am having a difficult day and I don't feel all that well, but I am at work - perhaps working on 6 out of 8 cylinders today!

So for both of us lets lean on the everlasting arms. I like to think I am hidden with Christ in God. What really excites me is that I have the Holy Spirit living inside of me. This is that same Holy Spirit that raised Lazarus from the dead, and Jesus from the grave.

I feel like a little child, running to the arms of Jesus. He will not turn us away.

Blessings to one and all today.

Ann

Hello, all. Not a whole lot going on here. I'm trying to be good but right now, with a house guest, it's a little rougher going, as far as food is concerned.

Exercise? No problem there. I'm getting that done...

My weight is still staying the same...

My friend lost 1oo before and gained back. She gained back when she was caring for her other. She teaches 6h grade math and coaches the girls Volley ball team at her school. She is not married and has only herself and her dog. She only cooks for herself when really counting points. It is not possible for me to do that life. You don't sound like you could do that either. We struggle when there are others we are responsible for. I do better with my weight loss when I have less to do around me.

I guess the rest of us just have to find more time to follow the plan.
I am so glad to be reading all you do with work and family. Bless you.

Wow Sue, be sure to ask her what are the three top tips she can can name to pass along to someone who is still on the journey to achieving a substantial weight loss, I would be ever so interested in learning how she lost l00 lbs. emoticon

For work today, I went to school and was in the same classroom all day today to learn about Lean Yellow Belt training. Today, we learned that Lean is not a weight loss program nor some kind of a martial art, but it is a way of doing more by better utilizing existing resources and by focusing on value from the customer's prospective. It is supposed to empower employees by allowing them to make changes. We did some table top exercises with a group of people - 5 or 6 people at each table. emoticon

My head hurts! emoticon

We started at 8:30 a.m. and had a break at about 10:15 a.m., lunch was at 12 noon and it was healthy wraps, with various fruits to chow down on. Water and pop diet or otherwise was also available.

Tomorrow is another full day with an hour exam at the end. Good news is that it is open book, 40 questions which are multiple choice and a pass is 50%. We had to let them know if we wanted pasta tomorrow for lunch with cookie or the same as today. The lunch that gets the most votes wins. I sure hope it is not pasta. I think I will bring something else because pasta at lunch is so heavy and will slow us down I think.

Like us sparkpeople always say, "I can do it". emoticon

And this too shall pass! What a stretch for me, but I will see it through

More news tomorrow -- I am sure I will survive, right?????

TUESDAY -- evening edit
Just adding, I did survive another day at the classroom all day long. We ended up with a 60 minute exam. I made it through. Used some strategies I learned like read thorugh it first, do the ones you know first to build up confidence, Go back to the others, etc. But it sure was a stretch for me.

Had a salad full of protein and lots of veggies and raspberry vinegrate for supper. Same thing as yesterday for lunch so food is ok.

Went on a 26 minute walk which added up to 2.07 km. So I feel more relaxed. Now Wednesday and Thursday at work then off for Friday and Monday. Going on our anniversary trip. Be blessed all!

Ann you sound like you have had a good time. How nice. It is good to be with family.

I know I ate a lot of food that I didn't need this week end. I will have to really watch this week.

I am really looking forward to having a few days that are not so buy later this week.

One of my friends that teaches computer classes and is the tech person at a middle school is going to have lunch with me next Saturday. She has been on Weight Watchers and lost over 100 pounds. She is a good influence. She was living near me but moved to the town that she teaches in. I miss having a diet partner.

Wishing everyone a good week ahead. We can support each other and keep to our plans. It is not bad to start back over. It is only a big problem if you stop. I seem to learn as I go. I don't have as much to drop as others but is is just as hard. I am really proud of all of you for the many things you do and still drop pounds. Bless you.
Sue

Good day to one and all. I enjoyed reading all of your posts today and it is so good to share with one another, isn't it?

emoticon We all seem to be diving right in with fall and all the changes with the season, including going back to work and school. I train for two days away from work on Monday and Tuesday. emoticon

We had a second wonderful day at our fall fair. The first time was with my husband on a date and we saw all the stuff we like to see, photos, craft stuff, paintings, vegetables, etc.

This time it was with our daughter in law and our grandkids. It is so much fun seeing their faces light up. Rides, of course, then they went to the Growing Chefs table and they both made salsa from scratch and got to take some home. But they did not like the taste so poppa and nana got to eat it - tasted good to me. They ate up all the taco chips though. Then they got to see their craft that they had submitted and they were really happy - Christian was happy emoticon his lego was all locked up and he would be getting it back and Abby was happy she won 2nd prize in her age group. emoticon Then Christian and Mommy went with poppa and saw a robot throw out a big beach ball back and forth while Abby and I painted a picture of a high heeled shoe with big pink and purple feathers which Abby glued on.

I ate my lunch there and was happy with my choice emoticon

Chicken with cooked onions, green and red peppers and a heated flatbread (which we dipped into our grandkids salsa) and we shared a diet pop. My hubby had a corn dog and fries. He wasn't happy with the corn dog, but he liked his fries.

We walked around from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. when we came home. so got some walking in for sure. emoticon

Be blessed everyone!

Ann

Company gone and we also got to church. Back on track for me. God is watching out for me and helped me through all of the week plus company. My daughter and my niece also dropped by on Saturday. My niece is vegan so quick turn around for some vegan food for lunch on Saturday.

this week is going to go fast. On Tuesday we go to Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh for my husband to have the preop tests done. His hip replacement is Oct 15th. The days are flying by.

Take care all and just stick with the plan. I am struggling but still not gaining. Plateau out now but it is still 159. I think when all settles down and I am not cooking like crazy for extra people I will be able to break this one.

Hey, all. Not a lot going on here for a change, just falling back into the routine of work. Love seeing all the new faces at school.

Well, we started our Bible study on weight loss on Tuesday and we were asked to choose 4 goals from a list of things we would try to change in our lives. I chose 'don't eat in front of the TV'(blew that one), read an inspirational quote, get 10 minutes of cardio, and write a note to God in your journal. Sounds simple enough, but I can't seem to get into the habit of doing it!

Well, I'm going up to see my parents when Bob gets home. I hope you all have a lovely evening...

Hi Liz, Mellie, Vicky, Sue and everyone else. Wow, I haven't posted since Sept. 10th and a lot is happening in just that short time. Life marches on doesn't it?.

Reading all of your posts and I feel sorry I wasn't there to lift you up Liz. I think that we all feel overwhelmed, overloaded from time to time. We all need time to refocus.

I know I do feel overwhelmed a bit right now at work. In fact, I think I have been having a bad attitude today and feel crabby but I am keeping it to myself or at least I think I am. My co-worker has a new job in our office and I am truly glad for her. I miss not having another Christian with me. Things are up in the air right now about covering her position and I have to take on more. It is very busy and I have had some projects sent my way as well. I have been very quiet because I don't want to complain and I feel if I open my mouth the complaints will come rolling out. What good does that do any way? One person has mentioned I was quiet. So I guess I am not my normal self. So, Fridays are my busiest days any way.

I choose to look forward, to another day. I go for training for Monday and Tuesday so that should be fun or at least different. Then I am back to work for two days only. Thinking forward to my vacation days on Friday and Monday where we are going to St. Jacobs Ontario and Cambridge Ontario for our 22nd anniversary. We are going to see a musical play about the life of Patsy Cline.

In the Psalms, David says to himself. Why art thou cast down oh my soul? Hope in God for I shall praise him yet (This may be a paraphrase) . He goes on from there and by the end of the psalm he has made his soul to be happy. I think that is just what I did looking forward to something nice.

Be blessed!

Ann

Music group was here yesterday and my brother and his wife arrive today for the weekend. I can't seem to get caught up. I cleaned up after the 12 left yesterday and baked a peach buckle (has less sugar my brother is diabetic). I roasted the turkey breast last night and made rolls for dinner tonight. I don't want to be working and busy when they come. My brother is 81 now and I am glad he still likes to come and visit. They will like going to our big farmer's market on Saturday morning.

We had rain again yesterday but not a real bad storm. I knew if I worked outside and cleaned up the flower beds and Dave mowed, we'd have a storm and it would look like we hadn't done anything.

I had 7000 + steps yesterday and my legs feel it today. This morning will not be too busy as most was done yesterday. I think I can keep to the plan with food I have ready. We are eating out on Saturday night.

Wishing you all blessings and a good weekend.

Liz just go ahead and rant and get it all out. Then sometimes we can get a look at what we need to do. I truly understand how you feel. My summer has gone and I got very little done that I had hope todo. Everything and everyone has something they want me to do. It made me pray that I could see what I could let go and not do. So I let go and let God show me. I have started to drop some things that were extras. I will pray for you to have something pop into your head that will say "Do you really need to do this one". Also, I have just asked others to help me. If people help they have ownership in what ever it is. It means more to them. Maybe start with Great Grandma's birthday. Ask what each person will bring to share at her party. Drinks, food, and even help setting up. A few weeks ago I kenw that 24 or 25 people would be here at my house.. They were to meet the fellows from a music store to see if we could get lesson started for the Lowrey organs we owned. I had the directory of the people that were in the classes when we had a store here. That store closed. I asked a few to bring finger food to go with coffee for that morning. God provided and wonderful goodies showed up. When it was over they pitched in to straighten up my house and fold up all the chairs.

Liz, I hear what you're saying. Going back to work has been good for the most part, but the strife has already started. I have to CHOOSE every morning to have a good day. Let the petty(and some important) irritations of the day before go. Not enough time for everything to get done, so I just try to concentrate on this day, this task, and pray God makes up for everything else. I've been having a rough time keeping on the right track, too, but we won't give up, will we?

Lord, I thank You for Liz on our team because she's always full of encouragement for us, so now I want to encourage her. Lighten her load, meet every need in her life, give her a sweet time of rest, and bless her with your abundant peace. Help others see she needs them to pick up the slack and do what needs to be done. In Jesus' name, amen.

Everything sounds great ,I for one am doing horrible..I am stressed out at home with finances & work there isn't enough help..my diet n exercise has gone down the drain, I feel horrible, sad, depressed and tired. I feel like I'm stretched out to the max, I can't catch a break..my mother-in-law thought it was a great idea to have great-grandma s bday here on a Sunday afternoon..oh really how considerate??,im trying not to be bitter, but honestly how much more will people take advantage??im so sick of it, she makes promises to the kids then doesn't keep them cuz she's too involved in her own life!! Ahhhhh!! I have to get some rest and relaxation and get over all of this..I'm trying to do the Christian thing and help everyone and be there for everyone and keep the family together but I am realizing I can't help everyone and that saddens me. The worst thing is that I take it out on the one person who is trying to help me,,my husband,..Tomorrow is a new day and I will embrace it because that's what God wants me to do.so sorry about the ranting and raving..God bless

More work outside yesterday and two meetings. To day I really look good. My hair is done and cur to suit me. The bad news is that I got home late and stopped at the grocery store and bought some things. On the way out I bought chicken to take Home for dinner. Tomorrow all the music people come here and decide if they want to change this now as we have a music lesson on Wednesdays with The teacher from the music store in Greensburg, PA. I may not have to do all this getting ready and cleaning up.

More tomorrow. Sue

Hello everyone:

I got weighed and measured today and I am happy to say, I have lost the 2 lbs. that I gained on my vacation (Yippee) and I am down 1 cm. on my waist. My hips and my chest measurements remain the same.

So I am 56 pounds lost again.....wonderful news....

Now I can enjoy my day.......and good news as well, my husband has found a wonderful company that does home improvements and repairs at a good price so he happily had some work done on our garage entrance way.

You be blessed today!

Sue - you sound like you had a well rounded day, and also sounds like you used up some of your energy.

I did some exercising today, 2 flights of stairs at work, yes, the elevator was down and no I would not have done it otherwise!

However, I did walk home from the Swiss Chalet Restaurant after supper. Good chicken there, had salad, no potato just the multigrain bun and hot tea with lemon

Took me about 40 minutes to do so.

Today went super fast, super busy at work.

Blessings to one and all!

Well, today was church and then a meeting at church and then home. This afternoon I spent 4 hours getting the flower beds cleaned up and the porch rug scrubbed. All the rain and my two dogs with their dirty feet have left a mess. I try to keep up. The storms have made it hard.

this is a week of temptation. We eat out on Tuesday and Thursday the music group comes and they have goodies and coffee. Then Friday my brother and his wife come to stay the weekend. My brother is diabetic so I do healthy food. That part is not too bad.

We play at the nursing home tomorrow. I still have some work to do on one of my songs.
Days go too bast.

Keep trying your best and I will also keep praying for all of you.
God gave me strength to get through last week and I have thanked Him over and over this weekend. .

I love to hear about people giving their hearts to Christ! New beginnings!

Hope is a wonderful puppy! Every time she has gone potty, it's been outside! And she has already learned to sit when Bob gives her a treat! Someone has spent time with her, so why did they dump her along a country road? People are strange...and cruel, but we're blessed to have her!

Oh I love the smell of "fair food!" I don't usually buy much though, because it's so expensive. Sounds like you did pretty well with your eating...

Vicky: You know the saying, "Hope springs eternal". I am so happy for you. I know this new dog will never replace your wonderful Bowtie who was and will remain a member of your family. Even so, you are about to make a big difference in Hope's life and she in yours as well.

At our church today, six (6) people gave their hearts to the Lord! Awesome. emoticon

Hey all, I went to the fall fair. emoticon Talk about being surrounded with all types of temptations - you know fall fair food I am sure. I have never been so proud of myself (yup patting self on the back helps from time to time) because for lunch I had a diet coke and 1/2 of a sub on brown bread, with grilled chicken and many many veggies on it and only honey mustard as topping. Later on (because we were there all day) I had crackers (6) and cheese and grapes for a snack and then even later on I had veggies and dip for a snack

So, lets see, I was sorely tempted at grandkids and at the fair all I truly wanted was good food. Makes you wanna go hmmmmm!

By the way, our granddaughter Abby got second prize in her craft submission for her age group. Our grandson, Christian, received a beautiful rainbow participant ribbon and his lego space ship station was placed on a shelf of its own. All the lego entries were locked up. Here is the kicker, his entry was mistakenly placed in the age group above what he really should be in. So, he did pretty well, with the kids older than him. As always, the prize money will be shared between them.

Just don't give up! My daughter was here today and baked peanut butter cookies to take to church tomorrow. She burnt one batch and left them here for me...oh, boy...this has been a bad day...

Adopted a new dog. I know it's just been 6 weeks since Bowtie died, but the place was too quiet. This dog is totally different. She is young but we're not sure of her age or breed or anything. As close as we can figure, she's a toy fox terrier. Very tiny and delicate. Someone just dumped her off along the road and she ended up at my cousin, Gail's, because everybody knows, Gail has many little dogs, and she loves them all. I'll post pictures soon. Oh, and her name is Hope...

Hello everyone! I lost 5 pounds last week, but am struggling again now! I would appreciate your prayers in this area. I do well, and then seem to sabotage myself for some reason. I really need to lose 45 more pounds and it is seeming to take forever...anyone got any ideas that may help? Thanks.

God is good! We are more than conquerors.....we are a new creation......now I am speaking to myself to stop sabatoguing (spelling???) my journey.......I am losing weight......I am losing inches....or centimeters.....I am a child of God. I appreciate that He loves me the way I am but He will give me the desires of my heart because it lines up with His word.

I have the Holy Spirit of God living inside me. That gives me the power to say, "No" to these stupid desires to eat what I should not eat.

At home, I do not have these goodies, when I babysit there they are. I have the power to say no. I must come up with a plan. The plan needs to be saying NO --- I need to bring my snacks with me

grrrrrrr stir up that Holy Spirit power within me.

Just talking to myself but hey,, if this helps anyone else emoticon

God is Good!!! I really prayed that I would not get picked. They went through the Alphabet pulling names 4 times and 4 names each time. there were 16 chosen for Grand Jury. I was not chosen. I am so glad.

Now I can get back to my life. Tomorrow is a day with no places to go and I can get my pictures on this site from our trip.

I have not been good eating today. I think the stress is what causes me to feel hungry. I hope to have more positive reports in the future.

Hello all: It is amazing, the calendar changed from August to September and boom, it is so busy, I think everyone sat down and thought about what they needed to do over the long Labour Day weekend and brought all their requests to me (at work) Phew - thankfully no milk spilled but just about everything else.

Took grandkids to swimming lesson last night - Level 2 - they are doing so well.

We are taking a one week hiatus from our weigh in at work. Next Wednesday I get weighed and measured. Last week no pounds lost but lost 1 cm from hips. I better smarten up because spent two nights over the grandkids as mom worked two 12 hr. overnight shifts and I gave into temptation both nights -- whole bag of popcorn - should be sharing; had some m & m's etc. that combined with my lessened walking may not be good. I have from today until next Wednesday to get moving somehow. Tape anyone?

Day 2 over, and a good day it was! My milk cooler is clean, thanks to Helen, the 80 year old lunchroom supervisor who doesn't know what the word "NO" means. She cleaned it anyway! Dishwasher is still not working, and I have no idea when it will be, but thank God I can truck all the dirty dishes up to the high school's dishwasher...then back again.

My body is holding up better than I figured it would after a lazy summer. I ordered new shoes today for work.

Listen to this...I'm all about "ME" today! So what are you all up to?

Work day 2 coming up. Yesterday was crazy, as all first days are at the school. The school superintendent came by and asked how it was going. I told him to come back when I was done serving and I'd let him know! It was about a hundred degrees in that kitchen, my dishwasher was broken, and when the ymca used the school for the summer, they left my milk cooler looking and smelling like a sewer. Next year, I will leave them a note to clean it out when they're done. But it was a great day, seeing all the new kindergarteners, and the familiar faces from last year.

So how are you all doing?

Thank you all for your prayers, I will keep you updated as things unfold! Have been having a good week with my eating and some family issues are being worked out gradually. I am so glad for all of you that are here on this site-- it helps to have folks are in the same boat and who have faith! Hope all of you are enjoying fall (?!?!). It is starting to be in the 70's here in Montana. About 6 weeks and it will snow. Blessings to all of you.

Oh! My! yes prayers for Kathie. It is so hard for me to understand some families. Prayers for Tammy and hope she can find work. Also for Connie and her pain.

I saw the words Canadian Maple Syrup. MMMMmmmmmmm. It has been a while since I have had that or even some from where I used to live.

We got home today at 3:30 pm I was driving last and the big storm hit. it was not an easy drive. I really felt God was with us all the way for this trip. It was short but successful. I will post some pictures when I can get a minute.

Glad to hear from everyone.

Gail, my other best friend, has taken Kathie to her house for a couple days. We've laughingly decided to shuffle her back and forth like the child of divorced parents, until her first couple of paychecks start coming in, and she can get an apartment. She is doing fairly well for someone who's own family won't make room for her in their homes. God will work it out...

You were talking about cookies, Ann, and Kathie and I were talking about candy bars here earlier. I honestly haven't had one in at least 2 years. I have been having donut & cupcake cravings...

Lord God in Heaven, undertake for Kathie right now and lift her up in your loving arms....send your angels to move on her behalf, heal the hearts in her family and I know you will do the best for her because you love her. Take this situation and turn it around to something good. We know you hear our prayers because when two or three are gathered in your midst you are there.

I am having coffee right now and am enjoying the last cookie that I love - maple cream, made with real Canadian maple syrup. My husband bought a bag because he knows I love them, but I cannot resist them. He does the grocery shopping since he is retired. I had to ask him NOT to get them any more. The one cookie rule does not work with those ones. Instead of one, I eat two or three...

Back to housekeeping after my coffee. I am off today because of the Labour Day Holiday, so I thought I would labour in my home. (Oh there is that spell checker again, trying to take the "U" out of labour. But that is the way we Canadians spell it.

Our Abby is going to go to school tomorrow and in grade 1, going all day every day. Woo hoo, she is growing up. Our Christian is going into grade 3 and I have a book for him which covers the entire Canadian curriculum for the grade 3 school year. (I guess I am a frustrated teacher) but Mommy and the kids love my help. I always ask them and if they are bored or don't want to do it, we colour or play.

Bye for now, enjoy your day!

Ann

We had dinner using the dishes we brought down to our Nephew. We have indeed been running to keep up with the fast moving little girl.

I only have a few moments on line as we head back home now. We are stopping in Dandridge Tenn. to over night with friends and then on tomorrow to West Virginia. It was a fast weekend but lots of fun. More when have a bit of time.

Prayers out for all of you. Sue

I do pray for your friend Tammy to find work and soon, not just a job but a special one that suits her to a "T" that will be cherished.

I pray that pain relief comes for your friend Connie. My husband deals with a lot of pain due to neuropathy. It is not fun at all and can flavor your whole life.

I lift these requests up to a loving and gracious God. Wisdom to the medical doctors for Connie to find the right combination of meds, exercise, massage etc. to give her some relief. You know there will be a time when she will experience the healing manifestation from our loving God in her back. We just have to believe it. I anticipate a great testimony to come soon.

I guess I won't have a hard time at all remembering your husband's name is Terry, just like mine. My Terry's formal name is Terence. When we got married a lot of his personal id had to be changed, since his name was spelled differently on some documents - as Terrance, but it is all fixed now.

Mosquito report in Southern Ontario = they are going after my husband more than me....he says it is because they have been attracted to him due to his sparkling personality and the fact that he has a greater percentage of meat on him! Yes, I think the wet weather has increased the mosquitoes this year....that and the ragweed seems to be bothering people too.

I love to hear that your friend got a job and I am sure that she will find a place to live too. God is in action for sure!

Sue I can just see you chasing after that toddler. They do move fast and they can get into things in a blink of an eye. You and your hubby are truly quite the travelers. I hope the nephew and his wife feel blessed in getting their dishes safely.

A new season of autumn is beckoning. (I refuse to give up on summer though until mid September - we will still have some nice days. Fall sends many of us back to school and/or work. God's blessings upon all of you as you touch those people in your world!

Okay Prayers for Kathie to find a home, Tammy to find work, and Connie for pain control.

We had a good two days for our drive to Slidell Louisiana. (near New Orleans) We have delivered 5 boxes of dishes to our nephew and wife. Now we get to play with Katie their little girl. She is a little over a year od and moves fast.

It is storming here too. I was hoping to see some sunshine but they are predicting rain all weekend. We drive back on Monday and Tuesday.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.
Sue

Update on my friend, Kathie...She got a full time position, with benefits, here at the hospital across town, in the cafeteria! God is faithful and she says thanks for the prayers! Now, to get her a place to live...

Got my cafeteria kitchen all ready to go for next Tuesday's first day of school. I suppose I'm ready to get back to it. I know I'm ready to see the kids!!!

Boy, is anyone else fighting the mosquitoes as bad as we are here? Mercy sakes, I've been eaten alive!!! Even when I go to bed. I'm not sure how they're getting in, but they are. It's been so wet, and there is larva in every drop of water left lying around. I even dumped out my bird bath! Sorry, birds...

Hope you all have a good night...

Hi everyone! Congratulations Vicky! I will be praying for the needs I see here! I think it's great that all of you sing at the nursing homes! I used to work at one, and I know that the residents all enjoy that so much! It has been warm here, but last week we got some much needed rain- Thank you God! Please pray that my friend Tammy will find work, and that my friend Connie will be able to find a pain med for her back that will alleviate some of the pain-back surgery is not an option. Thank you and blessings to all of you. P.S. Ann, my husband's name is Terry too.

Prayers for ;you son Liz. It is hard to walk into a room of different faces. I pray he will see a friendly face and settle in to the routine. Is there anyone he knows already in his class?? I will pray for him.

Vicky wow!! proud of you to drop those pounds. good goind.

Ann We played for a sad looking group yesterday. They looked tired and worn out. We had several polka's to play. the nursing home activities director helped us by dancing around some of them. We go a few to really clap and tap their foot. At the end we got smiles and asked when we would be back. That makes it all worth the effort.

Congrats to Vicky - way to go - isn't it nice when someone notices a change?

Liz. there is a sign on the walkway at work on the way to the lunchroom. It says, "The only true failure is the person who fails to try!" Such a simple statement but so true. You are a trooper...you can do it.

Sue: How did your nursing home visit go? I know you are looking forward to your daughter's birthday as well. The people at the Retirement Home on Sunday were so appreciative. We told them we were not in any way, shape or form professional singers, but they really liked us. The person who invited us said the turn out was more than expected and everyone wanted us to come back again. One volunteer hour of our time, means so very much to people. You are right there, Sue!

I did not lose weight this week, but I lost one centimeter off my hips. That is amazing to me because I still cannot hardly exercise still bothered by my ankles. The nurse at work wants me to get it checked out by a doctor just to make sure it is not more than a strain.

P.S. Editing as I forgot to spell check again!

Way to go, Liz. As long as you keep starting over, and don't give up, you'll get there!

I had something nice happen to me today. One of the custodians told me I was melting away! Somebody noticed! I've lost almost 18 pounds over the summer and somebody noticed! I feel wonderful right now...

Now to keep it off...

Have a lovely day, all...

Hi Sue: It is a little bit early for the fall colours, but we did see one or two trying out a coloured leaf or two. End of September is usually when they start wearing their new fall leaves. I really enjoy when we go on road trips talking to the people we meet. The stop I enjoyed the most was meeting a lady who had a sale going on outside of a place of business where they did restoring of old cars and retrofitting, etc. They had two great older cars all done up. One was from the forties and it was in a kind of purple/egg plant colour. Another was like a model T or similar model. That is what stopped us to admire the car.

We learned in our conversations that she had lost her husband the past December and as we spent some time with her, she talked about how much she loved her husband. Her eyes were shining - she was not feeling sorry for herself but reminiscing about all the trips she took with hubby and it reminded me of you Sue and Vicky and myself how much we enjoy "dates" with our hubbies.

Also there was a friend who was helping her and she was single and very lonely. From her stories, she was looking for love in all the wrong places. We dropped a few hints about our single friends and ourselves when we were single and even mentioned, going to church, going to a church single group and just plain old doing what you like to do, rather than going out to the bars to try to find people.

Maybe it was our similar ages, or maybe we just connected. Holy Spirit is so good, because when you listen to Him, out of your mouth comes LOVE not condemnation. We will probably never see them again, but I think it was a God appointment.
