Belated happy Canada Day and to others Happy 4th of July.

Tomorrow morning we go to the mountains of North Carolina. We have a house sitter that comes and stays and takes care of the dogs I am really tired today. It is time to rest.

Taking my prayer list with me. We have a laptop to take with us so I will still be posting.

The rest of the day and tomorrow is all I have to work and then one week off for vacation. Not going away but I will be working on my submissions to the Western Fair. I have helped the grands to submit before, but never my own "stuff". I will be working on a submission that is under the Re-Used - and also a submission for the garden.

Had another physio today and seeing small improvements along the way. Another appt. for Monday

It is Canada Day July 1st and I have the day off of work. We are going to our daughter in law's home for dinner and there will be sparklers for the kids and we may see some fireworks as well in the neighbourhood. Then back to work for Thursday and Friday. Next week I have off for vacation yippee.

Let's see that was 2 days (Monday and Tuesday) work, 1 day (Canada Day) off and then work 2 days (Thursday and Friday) then a week off. Wow, this is almost like part time work! tee hee tee hee!

My physio is coming along - hopefully soon I can kick the cane and start walking earnestly again.

God bless one and all.

Hello, everyone. I must confess that I turned Friday and Saturday into an emotional eating extravaganza, but got back on track on Sunday. I refuse to feel guilty or ashamed because I was mindful of what I was doing, knew I shouldn't but did it anyway, and frankly enjoyed it. Then I felt physically miserable. I haven't done this in months, and I'm back to one day, one bite at a time.

Have a wonderful week, everybody.

Bob painted his car today, and we caught 2 feral cats in a live catch trap! Been a successful day around here. Tomorrow the cats go to get spayed and we'll turn 'em loose again. No more strays...for a while anyway.

Been pretty bored since I'm not working. Hopi & I need to start walking again...

Hope you all are having a successful week...

Monday and it is cool. Yesterday the cold air dropped over us. We also had more rain.
Heading out today to play at a nursing home in Waynesburg PA. I am hoping that we have enough players and that the rain holds off.

Praying that everyone has a good week ahead.

Thank you Ann. Yes I found a partner too. I do have a daughter from the first marriage. That is a blessing.

Rain and more rain here. I am so glad to have the rest of the flower garden stones done. As I look out today it really is nice.

Happy Saturday to all.

Happy anniversary Sue! You two sound like you were meant to be together. We celebrate our anniversary in September and on the 19th day. We got married in 1992 so that makes for 23 years for us as well come September.

I got married for the first time when I was 18 and 6 days old! It lasted 5 years only. But I found a keeper this time and he loves the Lord!

Ann, I am so glad you didn't hit your head. I understand. Thank you God/ Now I pray for relief in the knee pain.

Yesterday the young man came to help with the stones in the flower bed on the left side of the porch. There are about 32 stones in all. He picked them up so easily. I cleared out the weeds and put new paper down and he just lifted them back in place. Then the rain came. I am so grateful to have those done. He helped my husband move some boards too. Then I fixed lunch

Today is our 23 wedding anniversary. Neither of us made it very far the first marriage. We have been through a lot of good and some hard times together and make a good team. Our faith is in God and we work together. This is a good day.

I want to tell you a story....I am still using the cane for my knee but after 4 physio appts. I was depending on it less. Mostly for longer walks across the hospital. last night, we were babysitting the grandkids and after we picked up the kids from daycare and approaching the house, we had to go up one big step to the portch. I had my cane, but I lost my balance and started to fall backward. Its amazing how you can think quickly and I knew angels were watching over me. Instead of hitting the back of my head on the concrete sidewalk, I was able to shift and land on my sore leg. I cried out in pain, but I realized that if I had fallen backward it would have been a different story altogether. My physio appt. this morning at 8 a.m. I had my mind adjusted from complaining to giving thanks for the angels watching over me. it was like they slowed time down and helped me to not crack open my noggin! Thanks to Jesus for the angels watching over me!

Today I am focusing my prayers on Whitney and her baby. Thank you Lord for the already 8 months in the womb successfully. I pray that you surround this precious one who is already loved by you and the family.

I think about a Bible verse from the Old Testament (Sorry don't remember the "address") It was made into a chorus and it is an older one, but still good. (Strictly from memory)

"As the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds His people. From this time forth and forever more, He shall not be moved, He shall not be moved."

and also this part of a verse from the Bible. It was addressed to someone who was to grow up to be a prophet......

"Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. And before I raised you up from the womb, I sanctified you and I proclaimed you, a prophet unto the nations."

God knows this baby in the womb and He has sanctified it and proclaimed a calling for the baby. I send my utmost prayers for peace and joy and rest for everyone involved who are patiently waiting for your arrival, little one!

Well, the days are going too fast. We have been busy with fixing more around the house, playing at the nursing homes on Monday and Tuesday. and just routine things.

Prayers for Whitney. She is so close now and may she have a healthy baby.

Today is music class. Our class luncheon is next Wednesday and we each bring a covered dish for lunch. Each of us plays one of the songs we learned. Last night I just didn't like my songs sound so I changed the whole thing. Now this morning I have to see if I made good choices.

Summer arrived a few days ago but we still have rain and storms. It is more like April showers. Hope all is well with each of you.

Hi everyone! I am not sure if I asked you to pray for Whitney or not, but Praise the Lord (after 3 miscarriages) her 4th baby is still alive and doing well in utero. She normally loses them at 7 months and is in her 8th month now. I would appreciate your prayers though that this baby will be born healthy. Thank You. blessings upon all of you.

Rainy day and reunion for me. I took a sugar free cherry pie and only made 1 trip to the buffet. Small turnout, but my dad is the only one of his immediate family left, so a lot of the others didn't come.

Hope you all are staying dry today, unless you need the rain...we don't...

We made it last night. Seven and 1/2 hours at the concession stand. It was not bad. We were in the stand that was on the concourse behind first base. We could watch the game and see the whole field except for first base. When we have worked the WVU football games you are in a room off the stadium and you see nothing. We were selling Brats, beer, soda, water, candy, and peanuts. One of the balls went right over our tent top on to the grass behind us. A fellow slid down the grassy hill to pick it up. Sadly the West Virginia Black Bears were no match for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers(dog) .The Scrappers were 15 and the Bears were 7 at the end. It was so funny because they played "Who Let the Dog Out" toward the end.

Tired today! Hope all of you are doing well..

I decided against mowing yesterday since the temp was 99 instead of 90. Call me a wimp; I don't care. It's overcast here today with a slight chance of rain. Thanks to an active Pacific tropical storm/hurricane season, we may see more rain in our desert. When I lived in Texas and the southeast, I counted on hurricanes in the Gulf and the Atlantic. Now that I've moved west some, it's the Pacific that brings moisture.

Have a great day, everyone. Practice abstinent eating and be grateful for your blessings.

The weather sure makes the person feel tired. The air is really heavy. I have finished the one flower bed stones. When i get the other one done I'll add a picture.

Today is a good day. I am working on music and having lunch with my daughter.

I was very careful at church last night as they had hamburgers and hotdogs. Everyone brought a dish. I didn't eat the hotdog but a plain hamburger with mustard and relish. I didn't look at hte gooey desserts. It was a well attended event so there was a lot of good food.

I think we have too much food at all events. I guess people just come to eat. I belong tot he best food groups. All the different things I am in all have good food. It is really hard with all the temptations.

It is Thursday and Friday is in sight. I'll let you know how the opening game for the WV Black Bears Baseball team goes. Dave and I are on the schedule to run one of the concessions. It is a sold out game.

Weight is down a couple. My clothes are making the weight loss more noticeable though. Had a pair of jeans on this morning that I haven't worn in about 8 years. YES, I hang on to my clothes that long, especially if I like the way they fit WHEN I can fit into them! I even have a pair my sister wore when she was in nursing school, and that was about 25 years ago! Definitely out of style...

Hot & muggy here but overcast, not sunny here. The ground is sopping wet from all the rain...

I'm trying to throw together a family picnic for my parents' 60th wedding anniversary next week. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, but it didn't dawn on me until a couple of weeks ago! Thank God, I have a fairly big family to help get it all done! Mom hasn't mentioned a thing...

And so, the get-togethers of summer begin...

Yes, I have two of them. Great for walking in the heat! Thanks for prayers for my knee. Have gone once to physio and going again in the morning. Today my left foot and leg are all puffed up. I got weighed in and although my measurements were the same, I was not surprised at all about two pounds gain. It will go down. I posted a blog on a 30 day challenge I took today. Take a look, will you?

Hello, all, and welcome to the middle of the week. My husband made an impulse buy of cooling towels--those things you wet and put around your neck to keep you cool in hot weather. I thought I'd try one this afternoon when I get home and try mowing a little of the yard. I need to mow a lot, but it's supposed to be 90 this afternoon and I don't want to stroke out. Have a great day everyone.

WooHoo!! I am back down form the 3 pounds gained at vacation. It really is hard to keep this plan going. It has taken a week to get back.

Working on the stones around the flower beds today. I just hope it doesn't rain. It is cloudy and a bit windy. I prefer to work on the cloudy days because the hot sun just wears me out. We'll see how far I get.

Enjoy your day.

Rose I will add Karen. Praying that her life settles down and she stays well.

Tired today but we usher so ready to go to church. I made the Gluten free Nutella bars for today and have some GF ginger cookies. We had more storms last night. At least I don't need to water the gardens.

Pray you are all blessed in some way this week.

We worked the Kiwanis garage sale today. It started to rain and we didn't get too many people.

Here is a better set of instructions for the brownies.(Gluten Free)
2 Ingredient Nutella Brownies
4 large Eggs
1 cup Nutella
•powdered Sugar, optional

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Line an 8x8 brownie pan with parchment paper; set aside.
3. Place the eggs in your mixer's bowl and beat for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the eggs have tripled in size. This may take up to 10 minutes with a handheld mixer on high.
4. Heat the Nutella in the microwave for 60 seconds.
5. Remove and stir.
6. Slowly pour a stream of the warm Nutella over the eggs, beating until mixture is thoroughly combined.
7. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with very few crumbs.
8. Remove and let completely cool before cutting.
9. Dust with powdered sugar.
10. Cut into bars and serve.
Notes
***DO NOT put the Nutella-Jar in the microwave. Measure out 1 cup of Nutella and microwave it in a microwave-safe bowl.

They are pretty good and not a lot of sugar.

Sue for your nutella brownies. How long do you heat it in the microwave (in a proper microwaveable container)? I just might make up this recipe.

My knee is really acting up. Went to see nurse yesterday and I have a morning appt. on Tuesday for physio. Still icing it and I am using my hubby's cane. It keeps me walking straight. Wow, it hurts quite a bit when walking. When at rest, it aches.

But it is only temporary. This too shall pass.

Had a great salad and some hummus with crackers and a decaf for lunch. But they were handing out ice cream bars and I had one....then I have to admit, I am leaving the lunchroom and I got handed a brownie. It is a surprise when someone walks up to me and offers food. I am not prepared for it and I give in. I don't have brownies at home, do not seek them out.

My bad! I will do better ....oh well I passed on the donuts. WHat is it about Friday when people bring in all the food.

I brought in a platter of veggies and dip about one and a half weeks ago. Everybody liked it.

I have to learn to say NO

When Katie gave us tea cups at pretend tea party she looked at me and said Sue too or 2 which ever was in her head. I thought that was cool. She realized we are named the same. I think she will give her parents a busy time.

Vicky I am not glad we are both having problems stopping the sugar . I did the first day well and then we ate out. Today Is another busy one. I seem to break after I get really tired.

I made Nutella brownies for gluten free people at church. 1 cup Nutella and 4 eggs.
Beat the eggs for about 7 to 10 minutes. Heat the Nutella in the micro. (not in its jar) use micro safe container. Pour the Nutella into the egg mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour mixture into a 8 by 8 pan lined with parchment paper and bake about 30 - 35 minutes.
Cool completely before cutting. You can put a little powdered sugar on the top. I didn't.
These are really good and no extra sugar. I had this when Dave had ice cream last night.

I have to make some sugar free jello today. Not easy trying to go with less sugar.

We are loading and unloading our car about 2 or 3 times with t he stuff for th Kiwanis garage sale tomorrow. It is at one of the members homes that is in a good traffic area for this. I still have more to get rid of.

Happy Friday. Sue

Not doing real well myself this week. My scale died and I had to go buy batteries for it. When I did get on, I was unhappy, but my official weigh in is tomorrow morning. Not doing real well kicking the sugar either. I just keep telling myself that tomorrow is another day...

Sue: Katie is so cute. What a beauty and takes a great picture too. Uncle Dave seems to be enjoying the company too.

P.S. Last Wednesday I had lost two pounds but had gained a bit in the measurements. This Wednesday I had gained one pound but the measurements showed I lost two centimeters in my waist and my hips! Huh?????? Not to worry though

Using my hubby's cane. I have a physio appt. on Tuesday next. Well bye for now. Everyone be blessed!

Well yesterday was packed with many things. I did see that I was up 3 pounds but that will not take long to drop. We really ate well but not a lot of sweets. Dinners out for 4 nights was probably the most we have had for a long time.

Today is music lesson and catch up here at home. I have more to put in the Kiwanis garage sale that is this Friday. I also have to bake brownies becuse we do a bake sale at that time too. We have free coffee. Some people just come and buy something to eat and have coffee. They look around and find something they will buy.

I am so grateful for the trip and the days wit Katie Picture below with Uncle Dave

Good for you Ann. I'm worried about the knee. I use ice and sometimes heat. Hope it gets better.

Well, tomorrow morring will tell how bad the vacation set me back. I am really going to try to go sugar free and less bread too.

We got home today about 2:30 pm and the storm came through but only for a few minutes. It didn't rain on us either Sunday or Today. It was a long drive.

Glad to hear how everyone is doing. I appreciate each of you and your support. We can do this together.

Unpack tonight. Back on track tomorrow.

I can't believe it but I did NOT have smores or even the hotdogs and buns offered on the weekend. I think it was mostly because there was lots of veggies, fruit, crackers, dips etc. so I saved some calories.

Spent about 90 minutes doing the mini golfing, I wore my knee brace so it is not too bad. I got some exercise too. Did some leg exercises for my knee. The pain is pretty bad. Not one to take a bunch of pain meds. I am sitting here with an ice pack on my knee.

I read all of your posts and congratulate Vicky and Sue for planning to go sugar free.

New Librarian - I think it is neat to enjoy your hubby's company. I missed mine because his legs hurt after mini golfing and stayed home from church. I realized how much I need him beside me.

So great to hear about your son Liz

Sue: glad you enjoyed your vacation and weather for driving was good

To our great organizer - I also had thoughts of organizing but not doing too much now til the knee mends. Been sleeping on the couch so I don't have to do stairs. Been to work every day though

Hideho!
Short and full weekend.
Helping out an elderly friend with many problems and a serious hoarding issue. Busy busy busy day on Saturday with her, lots accomplished though.
Took it way easy today with a slow start and time in the exercise room and pool. Spent a lot of time enjoying my husbands company which is good.
New week tomorrow. Need to work hard on the eating part of the puzzle and get some serious exercise in.

Just got back from a motorcycle ride to Erie with our CMA chapter. We went to get the fellowship trophy, which is given to the chapter who travels the farthest to the meeting place. Man, we didn't stand a chance. There were guys there from Philadelphia! Still we got to have a good time with all of them. The restaurant where they met was a bit overwhelmed when it came to seating and waiting on all of us! I left a lot on my plate, so I think I did good.

Welcome to summer Vicky. NO school!!! I know that one treat won't do much damage. I now have had 3 and then the 2 day drive. WE need to stick together and be strong. I think I will try to go sugar free like Vicky. I am feeling better carrying less weight,

Liz it is good to hear Sully is talking. Praying that this gives him a plan and coping skills for the school year.

Our Grand Niece has her dance recital tonight. This is why we came. Let's hope she will go out on the stage and dance. At rehearsal she did well on the first dance and then just stood at the second one. She has kept us busy these few days.

Tomorrow we head for home and stay over night near Knoxville Tenn. It will be good to get back to the food plan.

Prayers for all and everyone find something fun today to make you smile.

Now that work is done for the summer, I'm giving myself the weekend off, and come Monday, I will be sugar free and meeting my protein goals! Time to get serious again. That's how I lost 20 pounds last summer. Not looking forward to the sugar free part, but I can beat it again.

Praying for each and every one of you and your needs...

Enjoy your vacation, Sue. New Librarian: I have twisted my left knee - not the first time so I have the exercises to do. We are going with our church group to go putt putt golfing and then a bonfire with Smores and yes I am going to have some. Hopefully not the two pounds that I have lost, ha ha ha. Have a great weekend everyone!

We are enjoying our vacation with family here in Slidell, Louisiana. It is really hot and the sunshine is wonderful. BUT I know I have eaten too much. We only have a ref. and micro in the motel. With all the events we have eaten out each night and that means too many calories. When I get home it will be back on the track.

Prayers for son Liz. Safe trip to Newlibrarian. Everyone stay well.

School issues can be tough. I am so thankful that what we dealt with was pretty minor compared to many.
I am so hoping we are past frost. I have moved a lot of potted plants in and out a lot.
Poor cardio day today. I have to do a few more minutes of light cardio to the Christian radio station to make my 30 for the day.
Twisted my ankle a bit and it's just not quite happy right now.
We are on the road this weekend and it looks like a damp one but this time it's not storms re the forecast. There have been some bad ones around us but so far we have been missed.

Prayers for our son Liz. Does he tell you anything about the school day that makes him so upset. I pray he will talk to the counselor. It is so hard for little ones to feel bad and have to go to school.

WE are here in Slidell, La.. We have seen all the family and are back in our motel to get rested for a busy tomorrow. Long ride. I saw that Gatlinburg Tenn had hail yesterday
We pass that area just before it hit.

Ann, I hope you get the jacket ready to wear. It sounds like a good gift of clothes. Wonderful.

Yesterday was a lost cause day for food. Today was good. I jsut don't want to gain too much. It seems like the fat just likes me.
Stay well everyone.

New Librarian: Keep safe in the ever changing weather world of ND. We are having lots of wierd weather here in Southwestern Ontario too. Warm today, we had a real downpour one day last week with lots of wind. In fact we had a microburst that took a roof off of an apartment building. Yipes. We have had two days of frost overnight and only one of my flowers in my front garden now has flower petals. The rest are still green. One can only hope.

Sue: If it will stop raining out I will try putting some clothes out in the wind and sunlight. My daughter in law Tatiana has a nice long clothesline. Some of the outfits are ok to wear now (no smoke) but that black jacket that is the one I really want to get ready to wear.

I pray for every child in school that gets anxious, bullied, can't eat, can't sleep, etc. Lord I do pray for Liz's son especially. Come to the root, Lord. Let it be cleared up and let school become a wonderful journey for him.

I know how you feel. My son had migraine headaches between grade 8 and grade 9. He ended going to a paediatric pain program since meds did not help. He no longer has them as they taught him how to imagine your fingertips getting very warm. Some migraines are caused by stress, food, flashes of light whatever. Making your fingers warm, causes you to send a message to your body to open up the veins which can become constricted during migraines.

Everyone:I have lost two pounds after a month of gaining and losing the same weight. I am not a quitter so I will keep on, keeping on. Did three hours of heavy cleaning at our church clean on Saturday last. That was pretty sweaty going.

Hi All,
Greetings from the ever changing weather world of ND.
I can't plan on much when we have pop up storms and tornado warnings.
Oh well, things cleared and I hopped on my bike for a short spin in the neighbor hood.
Was at the gym today so I got my 30 minutes of cardio in. I just need to keep my eating in better order.

Ann you might hang them outside to dry. The sunshine and the wind are the best for removing smoke smell.

We left this morning at 6 am and had lunch with a friend as we passed through Tenn. We are staying the night in Gadsden Alabama. Long drive today. Tomorrow will be shorter to get to Slidell La. There isn't much time for me to be on line.

Stay well friends. Sue

Good Morning friends,
Today I am @ jury duty..I did join a 21day group to lose weight and eat healthy..Today is day 2 and it's going well..It's also my 5th week of working out consecutively :-)
Ann that's great that you got all that stuff, my house is getting cluttered as well, time to purge :-) especially the kids rooms, I painted my kitchen a pretty sunset color yellowish orange..it used to be all white so it's definitely a change for the better.
Prayers for Whitney & her baby, & peace to Sudie.
I would like to ask for prayer for my son, he's very nervous and anxious about school, crying, stomach aches, lack of diet. etc we are seeing a counselor and I'm hoping it helps him :-)
I do believe I've dropped some weight a few lbs but looking more for a change in my stomach and clothes. I do feel healthier though..God Bless

:-)LIZ

It's gotten a little slow here lately. Everybody's busy! I have 4 more days of work, and then SUMMER!!!

Cat & dog are still adjusting. I need to start looking for a tower for Cleo. Then she could get up where Hopi can't reach her. I'll have Bob build her one...

Weight-wise, I'm at the lower end of my regain range. I'm trying, but apparently not hard enough. I think I need to switch things up for a bit...

Have a lovely day, all...

Happy June,
Trying to get in the swing of things and lose some weight this month.
We'll see how that goes.
Biking is a good thing for me and I have been putting in the miles the past couple of weeks. I think close to 80. Had to get my gear cables reset today.
Need to keep on keeping on with this.
Glad the kitten is doing okay. Gotta love kittens.
I bought a cat tower Friday for $5. Queen Esther Haddasah lounges on the top tier a lot. She really does think she is queen of something.
Praying for those health concerns out there

Thanks Vicky: I am definitely going to try Febreeze.

Congrats to Gail and you too Vicky for the weight loss. Working as a team together is really great and you can encourage one another.

Lord you know that you are the Great Physician. Thank you for what you did on the cross. Right now, I concentrate my prayers on Gail - I speak to the God of all Comfort, the mighty Holy One who hears and listens to and attends to our prayers. I claim a healing for Gail right from the top of her head and all throughout her body. Let your love rain down on her today. Encourage her that she has a part in her healing. I declare that she will be a witness when she is better in Jesus name. I am thinking of Gail with her thyroid working properly, that the exercise will do its work with the arthritis and I pray a miracle on the bulging discs that they align back into proper order.

I also pray for Sudie a continuing prayer for her, peace that passes all understanding and a rest in You.

Everyone else that needs prayer I bring to your attention Lord. We are so blessed to know you and praise your name Jesus.

Ann

Ann, do they sell Febreeze where you live? It's safe for fabrics. I use it on my carpets and furniture now and then just to freshen up.

Kitten is doing fine. She spends most of her time upstairs, where Hopi cannot get to her, but I am exposing them to each other for longer periods of time. Hopi is a hyper and rough dog. She needs to learn gentleness. Oh, and her name is Cleopatra, Cleo for short. Did I tell you all that?

Gail and I are doing fine with our weigh ins. She has lost 3 pounds in the last 2 weeks and I have lost 2. Her reports came back from the doctors. According to the doctors, she has moderate arthritis, 2 bulging discs, and an under active thyroid. Now we know what to pray against!!!

Gotta get busy. They're coming to measure for my new windows tomorrow! Yea!!!

Hello New Librarian and all the rest of my spark pals:

We really don't know the meaning of cluttered until you see my house and garage. In the past two weeks, we bought lamps (3) furniture, table and two chairs, another chair and also a great big huge "thing" for the garage. The item for the garage used to house a big screen tv and had towers and drawers etc. which they had for sale in their garage. It is silver and black and we thought why not, use it in the garage.

Unfortunately between working full time , babysitting the grands etc. we really have a cluttered living room and garage right now. Yes, we gave some things to Salvation Army (books, golf clubs, etc. and threw some stuff out, but much more needs to be done.

I was also blessed last night with a big green garbage bag full of clothes, my friend from church was given these items but they were too big for her but not for me.....now wait for it. Most of the things still had price tags on it and never worn.. A jacket for $120.00; a dress for $60, and some were designer things. Several tops, both casual and dressy, a heavy sweater and a light one. Only problem was they were hung up in a closet of someone who smokes. I will have to launder them twice, but it is well worth it. I stayed up late after Wednesday class at church and washed them once. I used liquid laundry conditioner after a nice smelling liquid detergent. A lot of them hand to be washed in gentle cycle, hung to dry and the sweaters I stretched out on a sweater dryer.

Sue: Most of the geraniums and the rose bush, look like they have been hit with the frost. But the greenery is still there. Hopefully, they will come back. If not, I will start again in about a week.

Blessings to one and all. Prayers for Sudie and everyone else that needs it, whether they think they do or not. (we all do!)

Our God is the God of all comfort and He is an on time God.
Why my house could be called Clutter Headquarters right now!

Does anyone have an idea how to get smoke out of clothes!

Happy Wednesday all! I am staying about the same weightwise, but have been doing well in other areas. My two hobbies knitting and beading are keeping me out of the fridge...I hope that all of you are doing well. Any prayer requests? I would like prayer that Whitney will deliver a healthy baby and also continued prayer for my sister Sudie. Thank you.

I hope all of you are enjoying hump day. I was pleasantly surprised when I hit the scale this morning and had lost weight. I've been stuck for about 3 weeks--maybe going up one or two and back down, but not moving off the lowest weight I've been in a while. Then this morning, I had lost another pound! Wahoo for me! I wish you all the same success, even if it's just a few ounces.

I have been sticking to the eating plan and finally broke the plateau. I really want to be at the weight on my drivers license. Working outside helped a lot because I was not cooking food all the time. I must have worked every muscle I have.

We have a good pile of stuff ready for the garage sale Kiwanis is having on June 13. It is all priced and ready to go. We will be away next week and that weekend. We get home a week from next Monday. I really hope I can keep from gaining anything back.

The rockers on the front porch are just wonderful in the morning to have a cup of coffee and gather thoughts for the day. In the evening that is on the east side and so it is shaded and good to sit and watch toe birds. (also squirrel and several Chipmunks.)

Checking in today. Really wanting to get on track with eating. UGH.
Vicki the best thing with a new kitten is to put them in a room behind a closed door for a few days to a few weeks til other pets get curious about whats behind the door.

Was traveling for a week. Now I am trying to get things done here.
Kind of feeling overwhelmed.
However Rome wasn't built in a day and my house didn't get cluttered in a day.

I am not skilled to understand what GOD has willed what GOD has planned I only know at his right hand stands one who is my SAVIOR

I found both your pictures and explanation of Memorial Day and Veterans Day quite interesting. Your gardens look inviting. I also love the two chairs on either side of your doorway too.

Just to help you understand. Memorial Day(First designated as May 30th) formerly went by the name “Decoration Day” and it was originally intended as a commemoration of the death of soldiers who died in the service. Most visit the cemetery and flags are placed at the stones. There are many memorial services. The local High School Key Club had a program with an Army band and a Retired Army officer speaking.

Veterans Day, the holiday originated from the "Armistice Day" as proclaimed by President Woodrow Wilson. In 1953, the holiday was expanded to celebrate all combat veterans, and not just those who had served in World War I. On Wednesday, Nov. 11 20215 we have Veteran's Day and that is to honor all living and serving veterans.

Opps!! Probably more than you wanted to know. I guess the teacher me me just popped out.

Top picture is the front of the house. The bottom is the small vegetable plot I have.
Done for a while.

Sue: Sounds like you had fun hosting the Concordia College choir all the way from Bronxville NY. You and your husband are such servants of hospitality. Bravo to you. I pray that your muscle in your hip eases and the ice can be used for beverages instead! I would love to see more pictures of your garden. We still have tomato plants to put in but it has been too cold. Also, I thought my husband got a pepper plant, but behind my back he exchanged it for a watermelon plant. Wow, that would be nice - I would have thought it would be too cold for watermelon, but I guess if Walmart is selling it, they must think we can grow it. We shall see.

Vicky, keep us updated on the kitty cat situation. Hopefully Hopi and this new family member will come to love each other. It can happen....love is in the air!

It sounds like everyone else is busy. I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend.

Memorial Day is a day for the U.S. to honour servicemen and women. I wonder do you also have Remembrance Day on November 11th. That is the day for Canadians. Just wondering....

We went out on Saturday and went to a contents sale and got a few things, but even better we went to a staging sale. The company once a year has a sale on items that they put in new homes for staging purposes only. They probably have gone from house to house, but they are not really used furniture other than that. We spent $150.00 and got a dining nice table that has sides that fold down when needed or leave up when you need more room. and two chairs for when we downsize. Also, got two framed and matted pictures of sailboats, three bunches of beautiful silk roses for $5.00; three nice cushy cushions for $15.00 and a wooden painted chair for only $10.00

Good to hear from each of you. Well we have been busy. The Concordia College choir Bronxville N. Y. was at our church on Thursday. We provided dinner and overnight accomodations for them. They gave a beautiful program at 7 pm that evening. The accompanist they usually have was not able to do the tour with them. The choir director had called West Virginia University Music Dept. and asked if they had anyone that could fill in. The accompanist for their tour was a young man that was a student of one of our church member.

Yesterday was house and food set up day. Today a friend came by for brunch and then my husband and I went to do errands. We came home with more plats to fill out the blank space left when the weeks were pulled out. So more planting today. DONE!! I also slipped in a couple eggplants.

I now know exactly how I pulled the muscle in my hip. I felt it pull as I pulled out some more roots. Back to sitting with ice on my hip and backside. I'll put pictures in next time. I haven't taken any of the new area yet.

We celebrate Memorial Day with out flag out and with many events in our town. A thank you to those that served and those that are presently keeping watch.
Sue

I may have made a mistake. We brought a kitten home from my mom&dad's place. Hopi is not happy. She won't stop barking when the cat is in the room. This may take a while to be resolved...

My eating was pretty good today and since it was Friday, I got extra exercise at work. Two more weeks and it's summer for me!

Hello everyone - the new, the fresh and the ones that are hanging in there like myself. P.S. I read all of your posts and I say, Glad you are feeling better Dee, Sue, I am amazed at your pics, and how hard you work. I am sure after the hour of massage you must be feeling better too. Vicky congratulations on getting those chaps - two sizes smaller. It would be nice if you could find an owner for your old ones. What an encouragement. Liz: I like doing the same things as you, nature trail, ice cream etc. I used to have many rides on the back of motorcycles from Harleys to Hondas back in the day. Most every boyfriend was a biker. Not my Terry though!

In Canada we had the Victoria Day Weekend after Queen Victoria of England. It was a long weekend and then I took an extra day off which was yesterday. So back to work for Wed., Thurs., and Friday only.

The majority of the time was with the grands and also gardening at our small front garden and our small side garden. Rose bush from nana's day was planted along with some small annuals that are white and some that are blue. Sorry cannot remember name; At front we have been working on trimming the bush and then we got rid of many weeds, and between both gardens put in about 10 bags of top soil. Also planted some geraniums at the front. I am a bit stiff Sue, but we did it in stages. We still have two different tomato plants to plant and a sweet pepper.

Also bought two table lamps and a floor lamp (Matching) from Bibles For Missions store. They are nice and we only spent $12 for each table lamp and #10 for the floor lamp. We will need to get new lamp shades but what a deal we got. The table lamps have two areas to turn on lights so reading and to provide bright light.

Good morning team, I love reading all your busy posts. Feeling much better and so glad to tell you that the depression has lifted, thanks be to God. I'm still resting up a lot but spend that time with my bible. Life feels so good and God has blessed me so much. I have regained a couple of pounds but night time eating has to be controlled again. Thanks for being there for me when I needed encouragement the most. Blessings, Dee. Xx

I've been trying to be good since we got back from Erie. I think I'll be okay when weigh in comes tomorrow. I need to check in with Gail and see how she's doing.

Beautiful day here, in the 60's and not so humid now, but this morning you could get wet just walking to your car. So much humidity!

Had the lead test done on the house, then one man came to check out our windows, so he could put a bid in with the people who are working with us to get this done. Two more bids to go...

Hope you all are enjoying the day...

All my work outside make my hip really painful. I had to rest it for a couple days and then it didn't get much better. I went to the message therapist this morning and she said it was the muscle in that hip. She worked on it this morning for almost an hour. She said there was a bruise in the muscle and it was hot. I am better now and going to play with the group at a nursing home and then we are eating out together. Restful day ahead. Don't have to cook dinner either. emoticon

Hope all of you had a good weekend. We had more rain and it looks like rain today.

Rain and more rain here. It did cool everything down. I have stayed so good this last month and hope to keep to the plan for the next couple weeks. We are going to visit our nephew and family. Their little one is going to be in a dance recital When we talked on the phone she asked if we could come and we said yes. Then she said "You come now!!" They live outside of New Orleans in Slidell LA. I can't wait to see her. She is one busy little person.

II will weigh in tomorrow and hope that it is good.
Blessings to all of you today.

So pretty, Sue!

Bob and I just got back from a weekend in Erie. We made a wrong turn to go back to the hotel, and lo and behold, we were at the zoo! So we stayed and looked around. Got a good deal of walking in! Now I know an easy way to get there! Don't think the weekend did my diet any good, tho. I'll find out Wednesday when I weigh in with Gail...

My husband bought me a new pair of chaps for our anniversary. Yippee! Two whole sizes down! I hope I can find someone to give the old ones to. They are so expensive to buy...

Hot flashes are bad today. Must have eaten the wrong thing...

Adding Gail to the prayer list. With the support of the group we pray she will be comfortable and successful. Friends and Family are helpful support. When they are not there it is really hard to go it alone.

New here!!! My gardens are done. I do need to add some plants in a few places. But the weeding out of the worst part got finished yesterday.

I don't know if the picture came through. Sue

Hello, all! Hope you're having good day! I'm right on track today, and with good reason. My cousin, Gail, has decided to join me in this effort to lose weight. She used to be the skinny friend, and with a lot of stress in her life, she put on about 125 pounds. She is diabetic and also has arthritis and a pacemaker, so please add her name to your prayer list. She's tried so hard, so many times to lose weight and has become discouraged. The enemy has tried to convince her that she cannot succeed. So, we weighed in on Tuesday, and will begin regular weigh ins every Wednesday, right before she goes with me to our weightloss Bible study. She's really excited to be getting back to a Bible study again, more than losing weight! God makes all the difference!

Holly and the grands are coming by later, so I'd better get moving around here. Catch you later!

Happy Birthday and wishing you many more.

We have company still until tomorrow. I have really been working to get the house kept in order. It was cool yesterday and they even said we might have frost last night. It didn't happen so all my plants are okay.

Both dogs had their bath an were groomed yesterday. They are so cute.

Another busy day.
Prayers out for all of you to be blessed today.

Good evening, all. I have a confession to make. Today is my birthday, and my husband and I went out for lunch. I was good on low-carb--had fajitas, one small tortilla, hardly any rice, some guacamole. Then the waitress asked if I wanted a sopapilla (for those who don't know what that is, you've really missed something wonderful). I declined. Then DH tells the waitress it's my birthday, and she says "I'll be right back." She comes back in a little bit, asks my name, then disappears again. Then she and a couple of other folks come back singing Happy Birthday, and she's bringing a huge tortilla bowl full of fried ice cream. I've never had that before, and it was delicious. I did leave some, and that's a first for me. But the bowl would probably have served four people. DH and I did our best to finish the gift, thanked the nice people, and I went back to work. I did mow the lawn for a half hour after I got home to try and make up for my indiscretion. I enjoyed it immensely, and I'd probably do it again.

Have a wonderful evening, everyone.

Mary

Good afternoon: Well I talked so much at lunch in the cafe that I have literally two minutes to send my post for the day. I see all the prayer requests and I will certainly add them to mine. One minute left and I want you all to know that God has good plans for you in store. Let us all be expectant. You remember that Heinz ketchup commercial.....it had the song "Anticipation" in the background as they were waiting for the ketchup to come out of the jar....????

Well, even if you don't I wanna be in anticipation for some neat God appointments. We are reading about the Welsh revival at our wed. classes at church. Exciting book by Rick Joyner. Well now I have gone over my time by one minute! bye for now

We enjoyed summer like days for a while and now it is cool again. Our dogs didn't like being out in the heat and yet this morning they were scratching at the door to get in because it was cool . (lower 40's)

I worked outside again and got pretty sore so yesterday was a good day off. I had two meetings. I have been better at planning meals. We have had company all week. It is hard to get a minute to be at the computer.

If any of you like numbers this is the interesting about this week.
Sunday was 5 10 15 backwards 5 10 15
Monday was 5 11 15 read it backwards 1 11 15
This works through Tuesday 5 19 15 5 19 15

Wednesday, half way through this week already

Praying for Nancy, I'm so sorry for your loss..Pets are like family to us all and when they go they are truly missed. Mother's day was busy but nice, we had the family here for a cookout and celebrated my dad and sister-in-law bday. The company was fun and my oldest brother came down to be here too. It's easier to get through these holidays and events with family because we all miss my mom so very much. My workouts are going okay although today's eating flunked better days ahead :-) God bless and I hope everyone is enjoying the weather. Hoping to go on a ride soon with the hubby, he's been but not me..maybe Thu if the weather's nice..

Oh my, Sue! And with a Rotty, that would be a big pile! I know because we used to have a Great Dane, and for what he left behind, he might as well have been a cow!

Happy Mother's Day all! No big plans here. I visited my mom on Friday and today her house will probably be crowded with the rest of my siblings. Holly & the grands will be here after church, but that happens every Sunday, and I love it!

Enjoy your day...

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers. Also "Blessings to everyone because we all had a mother. Today after church we are going to Carol's home, (Daughter) She is doing brunch. She is a good cook.

Good for Hopi. That is a good beginning. I have to tell you this story. My daughter's dog Samantha (a Rottweiller) was always put in the bathroom when Carol went to work. She was a good sized puppy. Carol had a gate at the door of the bathroom. This was good as there was a pee pad in the bathroom. One day when Carol got home there was a pile in the living room. Samantha was still in the bathroom and the gate was still in place. It seems Samantha climbed the gate to relieve herself and then climbed back in the bathroom.

I will put Nancy on my prayer list. Dogs are so much a part of the family . Our dogs Teddy and Jack had a brother Sammy. Sammy had Lymphoma and died. Teddy still looks for him. Each animal has their own personality and bring such joy to the home.

Have a wonderful day today. Sue

Mary, sometimes we need that break. I know I do. Actually I'm not looking forward to logging my food today. We ate breakfast out(my treat) and then we had dinner out(his treat), so I don't mind missing lunch at all. Great ride though. I'd like to be on my own bike again, but my knees won't take it anymore, and the trike is really too big for me to be comfortable driving, so I guess if I want to go, I'll have to be the passenger. This way I do all the looking around I want!

I left Hopi, the dog, run loose in the house while we were gone. Usually I put her in the bathroom, where she can do no damage and has room to run around, but I want her to learn to behave herself in the rest of the house while I'm not there, and today she did me proud! She hasn't pottied in the house in months, so we're okay there, but I do catch her chewing or trying to bury her toys under the carpet or in my couch cushions. I've only had that couch for a year! But today she was good...

Please pray for my sister, Nancy, who is actually a member of this team. She had to put her dog and longtime companion, Cowboy, to sleep this morning. When she would come back to Pa to visit from Texas, Cowboy usually did, too, so we've lost an important member of our family.

Hope you all are enjoying the day...

Happy weekend, everyone.

Vicky, I hope you have a wonderful time. I never was much for riding on the back of my husband's bike. I'm too much of a control freak.

Alas, yesterday was a bad day for me. I didn't get a chance to eat lunch, so I grabbed a bag of Fritos and some green tea from a convenience store during my travels. Then I met a friend for dinner, drank wine, ate too much of good things and a little bit of bad things. Today, though, is another day, and a chance to practice abstinent eating, to exercise, and to get back on track. I guess one day out of nearly 60 isn't bad to fall off the wagon.

Have a wonderful, healthful, fun weekend, everyone.

Well, we're off on the motorcycle today, just for our own pleasure. Our 36th anniversary is on the 12th, and since we didn't make any plans to do it up big this year, we're just going to take today for ourselves. Picked a good day, too. The next door neighbors are having their pool dug, and it's going to be a little noisy. I'm so excited for them and their little boys!

Praying for Vessela, Sudie, and all of you today. Be blessed!

PS: Weight is still staying the same...

When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.
