After church we stopped and picked up a few things. Carol (daughter) has a few movies for us to watch this week. We have sleet now and more coming in the morning. We cancelled playing tomorrow at a nursing home because most live a long distance from town.

I checked my bird feeders and they are full. I have a lot of beautiful birds this year. (also on fat squirrel). In case the power goes off I am cooking early. Ice storms do that a lot here. It is 34 right now and close to freezing rain coming down. Winds and 1 to 4 inches or more tomorrow n the morning.

Wishing you all a good day and that you are feeling better. Blessings this Sunday.

Good morning, all. I'm not at church this morning. Coughed all night. I even slept in the spare bedroom, so I wouldn't keep Bob awake.

I need to remember to adjust my ticker. I'm not sure what it's set on...

Nothing really going on here, yet. Usually Holly and the grands come over after church, but the weather is supposed to get really bad later, and she wants to be at home when that happens. Don't blame her a bit...

Have a great day...

Feeling like I am finally over my cold.
I need to quit using it as an excuse now.
I set up an area with yoga mats yesterday.
Today I actually did a brief pilates workout.
I want to add something like that daily because generally it includes some stretching which I have been neglecting.
Made stir fried shrimp with vegetables tonight. Yum.
Not often do I feel like I truly get just the right mix of seasonings but this was really quite fine.

Have a great Sunday all.

Vicky: We love American Pickers. I only see it though when I am babysitting the grandkids. We watched it this week. I also love Canadian pickers. It is good too. We watch them on History Channel when we are at Tatiana's We were thrilled to borrow season one and two from our library.

Sue: It is good to get things check out - hopefully everthing will be just fine.

My dad fell down some of the stairs and hurt his tailbone last week but it is already getting better. I was talking to him today and he was excited as he won a meat raffle last week. He had his choice of pork chops but since he won it before and my sister does not like pork too much, he opted out for the breakfast prize.....eggs, Canadian bacon, cheese, and sausages. Sounds like it is for a breakfast for many. Any way he was excited about it.

Everyone: emoticon I just spent about an hour of facebook. I usually only go once a month but it was closer to two months today. I saw a picture of my grand nephew that looked just like my grandson Christian a few years ago....I guess we are all related so whay should we be surprised.

We are scheduled to sing at the nursing home tomorrow at 2 after church. I agree with Vicky this cold is not mine, I don'[t want it and it is advised NOT to take up residence in my chest. I am healed in the name of Jesus. It is just a stinking chest cold.

Terry's special soup is warming my innards now!

Hello everyone! Today it is 50 degrees. 26 years ago it was -40. That's Montana for you. I remember how cold it was then, because there was a train explosion in town. May God bless all of you today as you do the next right thing! And welcome to all you new folks!

Winter is back in full force. Snow and more snow. Staying inside. (except to shovel the walk and let the dogs out.) My husband will be able to get out his big toy and plow the drive way. I am glad I went to the store yesterday. I think we are to have more snow tomorrow.

It looks like a day to read, clean up and toss stuff, and stay warm. I am trying to get my computer room-office cleaned out. The paper comes in faster than i can deal with it.

Stay safe and warm everyone.

I was having so much trouble sleeping, a friend at church mixed me up a batch of essential oils. Lavender, cedar wood, and ylang ylang. You can use it in different ways, but I just rub some into my wrists and temples, and it really works! I sleep hard!

Didn't get to go to my parents last night because I don't want to take them any germs. I'll probably just spend my day hanging around here cleaning up some...

Have a lovely day, all...

Wow, Hi,
Yes I did first place 4 health in real time here for a while and than I tried hard to make it work here on Spark too. I was the leader for a while but it was hard for me to keep it up when there was very little participation.
Now I am just kind of doing my own thing and looking for support here.
I have had issues with female stuff and mood disorder I guess. I just know I have had a lot of stress and anxiety in the absence of reason for it.
Have set a lot of goal to get mentally and physically healthy.
Right now the exercise part is coming and I am making progress on the sleep.
I am also doing pretty well spiritually but I am stuggling with food and some habits of mine and trying to declutter my life.
Nice to be so welcomed

Good to have so many on this discussion. Several of the other places I have been just ended up with me alone.

My daughter and I went to do some errands. I drove so she could run in to the store. It was fun. She has a busy job and didn't want to have to park and walk too far. We stopped at the grocery store before I took her back to work. We were supposed to go for lunch but the errands came first. I really didn't want to be temped to eating at a restaurant anyway. I packed us a sandwich (turkey ) and fruit. We had a picnic in the car before she went back inside. I will still take her to lunch one day. We are expecting a big storm and everyone is crazy with grabbing food off the shelves. Since we were there at noon it wasn't too bad.

Stay warm and safe. Sue

_Mellie- I used to do First Place before I started Weight Watchers again. I lost about 20 pounds, but our group was not following the book and it became more of a social group. We disbanded because of that. One member started focusing on dieting and the group lost focus-It seemed that no one was motivated for the right reasons. I was on the FPFH website for awhile, but quit because there was not much participation. Blessings.

Welcome Newlibrarian! I worked in a high school library for several years just prior to my current job (church office assist.)

Theloser82- I am a former First Placian...I only used the site a couple of times otherwise was part of a group for a number of years. Loved my group and lost 55 lbs...held for a couple of years, but gained most of it back now.

Welcome Librarian and all the rest of you my friends.

Today was my annual check up. I go every 6 months but this is the big one. I was up by 4 pounds. So I have to change my print out. But I was less than last July at my 6 month check. My Dr. said most was well but scheduled me for a stress test next week as I have had a pain in my left side and left arm. Just checking to be sure. I feel better after going to have her check me out.

Snow here and ice but not as cold as before 32 degrees now. We have to go out to a Kiwanis activity tonight. Dave will be driving so I don't worry. Our road is always the worst part.
I am so glad to have all of you here working with the same problems. I know I can get back and start loosing again. I have tracked everything but the graph looks like someone kept bumping the line. it is up and down and up and down. Also, not enough protein or fiber.

We can do this. I can do this . Starting carefully right now.
Sue

Welcome back, Librarian!

I have managed to get a stuffy head and runny nose. It's not mine, it doesn't belong to me and I'm not keeping It! So it has to go away...

I think I'm doing okay this week. Weigh in is tomorrow morning. We'll see...

Anyone watch American Pickers? A guy I graduated with was on it last night. Last time I talked to him was at my daughter's yard sale a couple years ago. He wanted her to sell him a lawnmower cheaper than it was priced but she said no! She sold it to the next guy who came in the drive! That's in my neck of the woods...

The dog is squeezing behind me on this chair, so I gotta get up. You all have a great day!

Take care Sue and one and all in the sometimes cold and icy weather. It seems colder here today but haven't been out since 7:30 a.m. so maybe it is warmer now.

Today I arrived with a long skirt, leggings underneath, on top I had an undershirt, tshirt and light sweater. I took off the leggings and socks at work and I added a heavier sweater over top as I find it drafty where I work. I at least took off my boots at work and am wearing pair of shoes with my tights. emoticon

Blessings to one and all, I must returnt to work!

Thanks to all for the notes getting us caught up with everyone.

I weigh in at my yearly exam at the Dr. office tomorrow morning. I know I have not done well these last two weeks. Staying in and tired I have eaten what ever was in front of me. Not good. Some days were okay.

We started back at the gym but now the road is icy today and they say don't go out if you really don't need to. So staying home. Music class was cancelled. It is almost 11 am and just now the Highway plow and salt/cinder truck went past. School was on a 2 hr delay.

Hope all is well at your home. Still praying for all of you. Sue

I am loving the new gym. It opened 4 days ago and I have been 3 times. Now to get my eating under control.
Work has been a little crazy. I have 2 co-workers, 1 is on vacation and the other was in a jury pool today. Lucky for me she was not chosen to serve on the jury.
My baby (son) turns 19 years old tomorrow.
Blessing to you!

Most of my weekend was babysitting the grandkids. We played Candy Lane, a bunch of tv, went to church together, tried to get better at doing Abby's hair ....it is long but fine so fine. Abby went to sleep Saturday night singing in bed -- all the songs from the Frozen movie and with so much passion! Our grandson is likely doing one of these three things, Lego, reading or playing with his DS. He gets so excited --he loves his Papa, he was disappointed that he did not come over Saturday night because it made more sense for me to have the one vehicle we have, so I could pick him up with the kids on the way to church. Papa had ushering duties and then Christian got to sit with him and right beside him so he cuddled up to Papa at church. They went to Kids' church after praise and they enjoyed it and of course the snacks. We went out to Mama Rosa's restaurant where they had the beloved hot dog and fries! At least Christian had chocolate milk and Abby had apple juice. We live in the southeast side of town, and my daughter in law lives in the west end. Our church is three quarters the way to our home. Have you ever seen a "spaghetti diagram" that is what our travels across town look like some weeks. Yup, we use gas up real good!

I had some time to look at Liz's page today. What a beautiful family.....

My Dad is sure sighing a sigh of relief!!!!

Sue thanks for your prayers....we could sure use that tax credit.....We sent away a claim for our insurance for $1,741 dollars for prescriptions ....we are blessed that we get 85% coverage on most prescriptions. And I know that some people don't have coverage at all. We have to learn to become more greatful ...I know that. Working on that.

Wow, must have been a busy weekend. Nobody's been here until you, Sue! Mine was about normal, whatever that is!

I have the day off so I'm going to do laundry and change the bed sheets and maybe get in that back bedroom and throw out some clothes...again...

I weighed in on Friday morning and have dropped a few pounds, but I have to re-lose what I carelessly regained. These winter months are hard for me, especially since it is really acting like winter finally. Some days it seems the only exercise I get is taking the dog out!

Hope you all are doing well...

Oh! My! the days have slipped by so fast. This is my check up week with the doctor. My annual check to see I am still okay. I still have a problem with this plateau. We have eaten out too much.

On the bright side the sun is out and we have 31 degrees. all The snow is gone. This starts our playing out again as we play at one of the nursing homes today and then again tomorrow.

Prayers for all of you. Sue

Ann It is so good to hear the news and joy for your Dad. Yes I pray that the paper work for you husband gets his needed disability tax credit. It is tax season here. My husband is an AARP tax volunteer. He does taxes for people at the senior center. He has a following now that he has done this for several years. He helps them get the paperwork straight and prints up the tax report and submits it for them. You do not have to be a senior citizen for this service. They do not do complicated taxes for those that have big investments and stock.

Sudie is in my prayers. Dave and I have cleaned out my mothers (my Dad died years ago), his mother and dad's house. There are joys and tears. I would work a while and then have to stop.

Vicky I pray for you too. Working in a school is a stress job. I am glad that you now have a friendly person around. That makes all the difference. On the first Saturday of the month I have lunch with the cooks and friends that worked at two of my schools. They are all retired and are really a part of my family. Every child comes to school and looks forward to breakfast and lunch. (also recess and some like PE)

Today is not as cold as it is 30 degrees. We are expecting a little snow. Our dog Jack is not feeling well and I am sitting here waiting for our Veterinarian to call.

Yea for your Dad, Ann! I am very blessed to still have both of my parents.

Continuing to pray for Sudie, and the rest of your family.

It's 22 right now here I my part of PA. Going to continue in that trend all week, from what I've heard.

Well, I went off the scales, and actually, I think I'm doing better! I saw a number last week that I thought I'd never have to look at again, so I'm just ignoring them. Now, when Bob throws his jeans on top of them, I just leave them lie there...

Have a lovely evening, all...

I pray for Sudie that she find peace in what she has to do and a feeling of satisfaction when she is done this hard task. I remember being the executor for my sister, Karen. Lots and lots of hard work financially, working with a bank person who was not very helpful at all, going through the apt., selling the stove, fridge, etc. Parcelling out stuff to the family. We could not get the window air conditioner out, so we just left it. I feel for her sincerely. There was a feeling of "I did my best for my sister, that is all I could do" and believe it or not, when I went through her things, I found stuff to remind me of fond memories, stuff to laugh at. But boy, oh boy, the cat smell in her one closet, I think that was Amos and Andy's special spot to pee! I am so glad, that before Karen passed, I found a home for both of them. It also helped me to realize I needed to get a bit more organized in my own paperwork, etc.

I am glad to hear that Vicky has a new/old co-worker. It is nice to see people again and if you enjoyed working with them it is a bonus.

Sue it must be satisfying to get the paperwork done.

If you could remember my husband in prayer that he will receive the Disability Tax Credit from Revenue Canada -- it was declined as the doctor did not answer the second set of questions, but they said they would look at it again if he replies. We got on the phone and requested he do so. He called back to get some of the answers from a Terry! So hopefully the claim for the tax credit will be finally reviewed with positve results.

P.S. My dad, Robert has a clean bill of health. It was a non-cancerous cyst. handled by meds. Yay thanks Jesus!

Be well everyone, keep warm

I will send up pray for Sudie. it is a hard task. May God give her strength and courage.

Today is to be clear. That will be wonderful. I can drive out to music class and get a few things.
Our driveway is clear but the roads have ice. It is cold 19 degrees.

This has been a good week to clean out papers and get rid of stuff. I am really liking this week of being at home.

Blessings to all Sue

Hello everyone! It is 30degrees today and very nice for this time of year in Montana. Please pray for my sister Sudie as she is going to have to go through the rest of mom's things this weekend. Also, that all the financial matters involved will be settled. Thank you. And may you all do the next right thing today.

36 degrees here. Feels warmer anyway. The morning fog was really bad. We did drive out and finally got back to the gym. My husband really is not a person that likes to exercise. That was why I joined Curves before because he quits going and the gym is 3 exits out on Rt I 68. Curves is only the next exit. I am hoping he will stick with it this time.

Their scales and our scales are very different. I am back to weighing in on Mondays now again. That is best for me. It helps me stay good over the weekend.

Music class is Wednesday. We cancelled out music meeting last Thursday and so it will be this Thursday here at my house. This week I hope the driveway and road stay clear.

Stay warm and safe Sue

Much warmer today. It's been in the mid 30's most of the day.

Went to the Dollar Tree and picked up some cheap batteries for my mouse, a new food journal and some hairbands to keep my hair out of the way at work. It's the first time in a while I'd been in there and I could look at stuff all day. Made me feel good...

My new cashier at work is a former co worker, Betsy. I've missed her and I'm so glad to have her to work with. She's so upbeat and makes me laugh!

Hope you all are having a good day...

Liz I love your posts with all the emoticons. We also got some gift cards and have used Tim Hortons coffee card, Fireside Restaurant (Julienne Salad for both of us) and we still have a Williams Coffee Shop. (My husband always calls it Wilson's because I think he remembers the name of the basketball Tom Hanks talked to in that movie where he was stranded on an island). I still have a manicure pedicure gift certificate that I will use in the spring. We took back about three things to the store (dvd we already saw, pj's that were too big on bottom for me and barely closed on the top and slippers that said medium but I am sure they were small). I started the two free courses I was signed up for : the first one was physical and made me feel off balance and dizzy and I don't think I can continue that one (that darn bus/car accident back in 2004 left me with residual balance problems) but the one with the dietician is for 28 days and there is homework assignments. I went to one on Saturday and go back again tonight. I like it. Hope Hopi is ok and getting better. Keep warm everyone....here in Southern Ontario is it only -7 Celcius but we hear the windchill overnight is going to be -30 degrees celcius. Leggings, tights, two or three shirts etc. are in my future! God bless you all.

When It is cold I tend to cook to have the oven on and keep the house warm. I just pray for all of you to stay safe and warm. We can have a bad day or too and then get back on track. I see that I am not the only one struggling. I don't feel so bad and that is good When I feel bad I tend to EAT!!! Bad so Bad!!

Tomorrow I am hoping to get back to exercise at the gym. It is a ways to drive and the roads have been really bad. They knew the snow was coming and yet it took 3 days to plow our street. We are a school bus route. They seem to just cancel this road pick up when it is bad. They list the bus numbers and the roads they are not traveling. This is something new this year.
We can do this. Hugs to all Sue

Hello everyone! It is 22 degrees here today, up from 7 or below last week. Have been making better progress with food plan. Anybody have any prayer requests? I figure that will keep me from raiding the fridge! Blessings.

It went from minus 3 to minus 5 at 8 this morning. Hopi had a rough time going outside because Bob had plowed a place for her to go to the bathroom, and she couldn't find her spot. She's recovering today and doesn't want anything to do with either of us right now. Her weight is up to 8 lbs. 6 oz. I made her an egg today, because I figured it'd be easier for her to eat, with those baby teeth pulled. As for me, I'm not doing so well with my eating. Back to the beginning...

Have a lovely day, all and say warm...

Saturday and my car is all tuned up. BUT I am not going anywhere. It is 9:30 am and 0 degrees out. Teddy and Jack (my 2 dogs) sniffed the outside and started to back up. I got them to go out to do their job but they came straight back to the door.

I have a book to read. I haven't had a minute to sit and read for a long time. This is not good weather for any of us. The sun is shining and that makes it look good.

Stay safe and warm. Sue

Hello everyone. You all have a lot to do. It has been so cold that I slowed down. I did take the car in to be checked up and they are doing the 60000 mile what ever. They brought me home because it would take 3 hours. I was glad to be here. We have a high of 19 today.

Stay warm and safe. Sue

Praying for your husband, too, but kids prayers are the best.

I'm so glad to be home from work. Tomorrow Bob is dropping Hopi off at the vet so we won't have any baby puppies around here. They are going to pull some of her baby teeth while they're at it. They didn't fall out like they should and I can tell they're causing her some pain when she eats.

Holly and the grands are stopping by later on, but for now, I'm just sitting here with my coffee...

Yesterday was a long day for me and my hubby. It was a 5 am wakeup as we were scheduled to take our grandkids to day care and we had to be at our daughter in laws by 5:45 a.m. While it was cold, we thought oh we didn't get the snow we were promised and off we went on our merry way. Good time travelling. Well between 6 am and 6:45 a.m we got dumped on with a great snowfall. all wer safe so that is good, thanks Lord! School was cancelled for them.

On the way to daycare, to pick up the grandkids we drove from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. to get to the daycare. Then Terry fell on his right side and really got hurt. Little Abby prayed for him and he is not too bad today. Kids prayers are the best!

This is the 3rd day of NO school here. Our road still has not been plowed. It is minus 3 degrees. My dogs don't want to go out. My husband had to go to tax class. Fortunately it isn't too far away. I like to cook on days like this and keep the oven going to keep the house warm. The dogs curl up in the kitchen too.

Stay warm and safe.

It's 3 degrees here this morning. Cannot believe they haven't cancelled school. We do have a 2 hour delay, which means I go in 15 minutes later, since I don't have to serve breakfast.

Not much else going on here. It's too early in the day. Have a great day, all, and stay warm...

Home from school. And it's 8 degrees here now. We haven't got the snow they've called for yet, but I think that's just because the wind keeps blowing it away. Everyone at work expects them to cancel tomorrow. That would be fine with me...

Bob just called from work. He usually comes home for lunch, but not today. Too cold to leave the store...

I also have a Bible study to go to tonight that was cancelled from last night. Don't imagine I'm gonna make that either.

I am NOT a winter person...

Vicky I hope you don't have school. Here we have no school today and very cold. 10 degrees now. Looking toward more snow coming 4 to 6 inches. No music class today because we don't go if the schools are closed. Our road is not cleared well. I do have a dentist appointment so I will have to go out. Dave has to go to tax class. He is an AARP tax volunteer and works at the senior center to do taxes for people. I need to be at my appointment at 10 so there is a little time.

Stay safe and warm.

Cold, cold, cold! It was about 7 degrees when I left for work this morning. I managed to make 5 trips across the parking lot to the other school, with carts on every trip, and didn't fall once. Now I'm home and still not warm yet. I have Bible study tonight but I'm half hoping the girls will cancel because I don't want to go back out. It's 14 here now. Wow, a heat wave...

Weight is coming back off, I can feel it...

Here we go! 15 degrees and snow. Snow Day and so no school. I am so glad that I have nothing scheduled for today that I need to go out in this. This is an at home day. My husband was to go to a school and give out the Kiwanis Terrific Kid awards but school is closed. Jack(our one dog) got me up at 4:30 wanting to go out to relieve himself. He hurried out and came back with a white blanket of snow on his back. This morning the 2 dogs are not wanting to go out at all.

Dave is out blowing the snow off the walk and getting the newspaper. I am heading for the coffee pot and wearing my warmest robe.

Stay warm and safe Sue

Starting the year with all of you my friends. Glad to hear from you, Ann. We hope to all do well this month.

Yes we are praying for something to work out about the roof. That is really important.

Today was practice day for my music group. only 3 made it. It was in the low 20's and is 16 right now. Ice in many places. I did get dog cookies made for the doggies. Jack is the diabetic one and he really looks forward to those.

Stay safe,m warm and in good health.

Happy New Year one and all! I had nine days off in a row and am now back to work for the first day since December 24th. I just had a chance to read all of your posts from the last time I was on Sparkpeople. Very interesting. We did not put up a tree or many decorations, but we have a large nativity set that I want to keep up for another week as it is so beautiful.

I have signed up for a 28 day online email from a dietician at our local Loblaw grocery store. Should be interesting. Also, taking a 1 hr. per Saturday meeting from next Saturday through the first two weeks of Feb. at our hospital....covering all aspects of nutrition, wellness, exercise, etc. Add to that the wonderful resources of Sparkpeople and I should have the New Year off to a good start.

I am sure I have gained around the middle as I feel uncomfortable. I read somewhere probably in a magazine about a survey done. Most people in the survey who just went back to their regular eating habits without going on a crash diet lost the weight they put on at Christmas/New years. So, I am not gonna eat just lettuce, but try eat healthy. Not weighing in at work until next wednesday.

Now I do want to pray to the Lord for that Roof for Liz........ Lord, you said we should not worry about food, or a place to live. Well I believe that must include provision for roof to keep your children warm, not cold, dry, not wet. We call upon you to provide the resources necessary to get the roof repaired, and/or soften the hearts of the insurance company, we don't care how you do it, cheque in the mail, or whatever way you choose. Come to the aid of your daughter!

May this be the best New Year for everyone. I pray for you all as you are in my heart, my friends!

A few years ago we had half the roof put on, and then a couple of years later we had the other half put on. It was the only way we could afford it. Of course, the way our house is built, it was easier to do, and Bob has a cousin who does that kind of work. Bob would have done it himself, but it's a steep roof, and he isn't as young as he used to be! I let him do the porch roof and the roof over the sunroom. Then, if he fell off, he wouldn't have that far to go! We've always done our own household repairs, but there comes a time in life when you've got to stop. My dad was still getting on the barn roof when he was in his 70's...

I hope everyone has had a good start to the new year. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm hoping my work pants aren't too tight, but once I get moving, I'll start losing quicker...

Have a lovely Sunday, all...

Vicky

Sorry to hear of the roof problem Congratulations on the 2 pounds loss. We know how all that works as we had a tree that was over the living room curt back and the next storm pulled the gutters off the house and the rain poured in. It is really expensive to have work done. We ended up having to put new gutters all the way around the house because they were not in good shape.

You are in my prayers

emoticon I AM TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE BUT THIS NEW YEAR IS GIVING ME A HARD TIME. WE STARTED OUT THE NEW YEAR WITH AN EXTENSION OF LAST YEARS COLDS AND FEVERS THAT HAS CAUGHT UP WITH OUR DAUGHTER & I CHECK THE MAIL TODAY AND FIND OUT THAT OUR INSURANCE CO FOR OUR HOME IS DROPPING US IF WE DON'T FIX OUR ROOF!! I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING? WE PUT A CLAIM IN LAST YEAR BECAUSE A WIND STORM TOOK A PIECE OF OUR ROOF AND CAUSED A LEAK IN THE KITCHEN & THEY SAID THEY WOULD ONLY GIVE US ENOUGH MONEY TO REPAIR OUR KITCHEN CEILING..OKAY NOT HELPFUL AND OF COURSE WE COULDN'T COME UP WITH THE REST OF THE MONEY TO FIX THE WHOLE ROOF..WHY WOULD I FIX HALF MY ROOF(NOT MUCH SENSE IN THAT)!! I AM SO TICKED OFF RIGHT NOW!!
HOW CONVENIENT OF THEM TO PULL THIS IN JANUARY WHEN ITS SNOWING! HOW ARE WE SUPPOSE TO FIX OUR ROOF IN 30 DAYS WHEN ITS SNOWING AND WITH VERY LIMITED FUNDS AFTER CHRISTMAS?? UGH emoticon
WELL MY SPARKFRIENDS IF I EVER NEEDED PRAYER IT WOULD BE NOW emoticon GOD BLESS WISH ME LUCK..

First weekend in the new year. Make it a good one. I am working on my house to be ready for what ever comes our way. It seems like spring but colder. We even had sunshine but not today. It is dark and raining and 33 degrees.

Start this year with a smile and good times.

Yes, Happy New Year to all. This is a fresh start and we are all here to support each other. I feel the best I have in many years. My husband has been trying to eat right too. That really helps me.

We put away all Christmas decorations. I put out all my Angels and snowball candles. All ready for January. Dave and I talked about t he year. We have been so blessed. Many things seemed tough at the time, Good things that happened as a result of all the work. We realized this was our 24th Christmas together. Where have the years gone.

Blessings to you all and I pray you stay in good health.

Bob is working, and the dog is sitting behind me on the desk chair, more on my lower back than the chair. That's her new favorite place to be. I let her do it for a while then put her off, because it hurts if I sit that way too long.

Healthy breakfast in, exercise done, now, to get thru the day without screwing all that up. Better go get a glass of water...

Have a wonderful new beginning...

Vicky

Well, I am finally ready to get back on track with my food and devotional plan. Am going to start the new year reading "You Can Begin Again" by Joyce Meyer. May God bless all of you as you face this new year and all it has to offer.

Oh! my group has done that. We set a price for the gift and then they are usually something nice.

I worked today and filled boxes with files for the Therapy place that closed. We got quite a bit done. There is still more to pack. We will work on Friday for a while too.

One more day and then we get to start a new year. This one was a lot of work on the house and very busy. I am going to plan the meals a litted better for January. We had way too much food around here lately.

Enjoy New Year's Eve.

A Yankee Swap sounds like what we call a white elephant gift exchange. I always bought a nice gift, and came home with junk, but it sure was funny to watch everyone else! At our work party, the same Elvis records got exchanged for several years...and, yes, they were "records".

Can you believe that after all the Christmas goodies, desserts and candy, my husband brought home cookies and ice cream bars yesterday from the store? HONESTLY!!! Well, the cookies are gone, thanks to the grands, but the ice cream bars are still in the freezer, and if I want ONE, I have to budget it into my calorie count. Hopefully, he will finish them today before I get the urge. Grrrrr...

Hopi is in trouble once again. I had to stop this post to repair my speaker wires for the third time! Can't wait for her to get out of this chewing stage...

Have a blessed abd successful day, all...

Toni Liz, what is a Yankee swap? Had a great Christmas and managed to listen to those who were not. I am more of a talker than a listener. I find that I want to call my mom and talk to her, and then realize I can't. I have heard that many folks do this and that it happens for years. Mom is definitely glad to be where she is, but we all miss her greatly. I thank you for all your prayers, and wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Blessings.

another Christmas has come and gone. I've been concentrating on the real meaning of Christmas. Jesus. I'm choosing to live in the moment and realize that Jesus is with me and He will help me accomplish the positive goal I've set for myself. Merry Christmas everyone.

One thing I can say is I weigh less than I did at the beginning of the year. Not a whole lot less, but less. Hopefully a full 20 pounds total by New Year's...

I'm up early for church. Bob is still sleeping for a while. Hopi is wandering around here with her ball in her mouth. I think she's looking for the kids, they've been here so much lately. Yesterday was the first day they weren't here, and she wandered around whining all morning. Guess I should get her a cat or another dog to play with.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday..

Sunday and we start another week. Today I am taking almost all the cookies I have to church for the after service coffee hour. They can walk home in someone else. We have had friends over and that is not happening again for a while. I know if they stay here they will add on pounds I don'[t want.

Christmas decorations are up at my house through New Year's. I enjoy them now that all the busy part is over and I can sit and relax. It is so good to sit and look up at the lighted tree and the candles in the window.

Only a few more days and we have completed another year. Where did this one go. It seems like the day race by.

We go back to school on the 5th also. Taking advantage of the time off to get some things done around here. Christmas got packed up today, but hasn't made it back up to the back closet. Dining room is almost back together and the living room and hallway are done.

Did not like what I saw on the scales, but I'm thankful it wasn't any more. Logged my food and kept on track today. Thank You, God!

Another day of 60 degrees. I cleaned the rug on the porch today. There was a brown trail where the dog s had walked as they came in. It looks good now. I think we will have to replace it in the summer. The dogs use to go out the back door and down the streps. Now Jack can't see or hear well so he can't find the way. I know it is soon New years but it feels lik Easter.

I need to check in on my friend about the bible study that goes along with weight loss. She was really busy at Christmas. Our schools don't go back until Monday Jan 5th.

Wishing you a wonderful day today. Sue

Well, It is all over and now the clean up. The good part about having grown up kids is that they take all their stuff home and that leave the living room clear again. Visitors coming today so I am cleaning up a bit.

I was good about the food until last night and then too much sugar. I am not weighing in until Monday.

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday and enjoyed family and friends.

Hello, all! So glad today is almost over! I've been trying to recover from too much overeating and I'm not looking forward to the sugar withdrawal over the next few days. Time to up my protein again. Tomorrow I clean out the fridge and throw out the leftover sweets. Not too many left though, so I won't feel too wasteful! I will also be getting on the scales and start logging my food again...

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was pretty low keyed, and that is a good thing...

Christmas blessings my friends. So far so good. Today we had waffles from my Belgian waffle cookie maker. they are small and not too bad. Christmas dinner is at 3 pm so we are waiting and that will be lunch and dinner. Turkey breast or ham (or both ) , mashed potato, sweet potato, peas, salad, and then homemade pumpkin pie. Not everyone eats sweet potato. (Son in law does )
House is cleaned up and dog sheet and pillows clean. All is ready to put in the oven.

Vicky, My friend said she knows of a couple sites to visit for a Bible study weight loss idea. She teaches computer skills in a middle school. They are off this week and she will send them to me.

We drove near Philadelphia and delivered gifts over Sunday and Monday. Yesterday I got things ready for tomorrow. Today I have to finish up. Tonight we usher at the church 6 pm service. These days are really busy.

Merry Christmas to all and blessings to you in the new year.

It is so hard when our human nature is to try to have control of the circumstances in our lives. It seems God has to get pretty "loud" for me to release my hold on things in my life and let Him deal with things for me. And I make things harder than they should be, if I don't listen for His voice.

Going to be baking cookies today...again. I need some for dessert after a meeting tomorrow, then again for Christmas Eve service at the church. Still holding my own...

Have a wonderful weekend, all...

Hello everyone...I have just decided that some things are beyond my control and I have to let go and let God. Let Him? The Creator of the Universe? What I mean is, I just need to realize my place and His. I sometimes (quite often, to be honest) want things to be in my timetable and not His. I worry and get frustrated all because I forget to put it all in His hands. I thank you all for your prayers. They are getting me through...You are all such a blessing. Blessings. emoticon

Good morning, all! Just popping in here real quick before work to ask, does any one know of a good online Bible study on weightloss? Something we can print off & share on Tuesday nights with the girls?

Have a great day, all...

We drove to Wheeling and visited with my Spark friend. We had lunch and then drove back. It was nice to just be away and for us to travel together. I still have packages to wrap. All music things are over and we don't get started again until the first full week in January.

NO snow yet. It is cold 27 degrees.

Vicky I hope you do go to the cabin for a break. Sometimes being with nature and just relaxing is the best for reducing the stress in our lives.

Ann, Glad to hear you are going to get a break too. Hope all goes well for your family at Christmas.

We have no big pressure now except that I haven't done any cards. I will tackle that soon and I know they will be late.
