I've been keeping the sweets out of the house, hopefully until Christmas, or at least until a couple of days before. Betsy, Gail and I are back on track, so I want no temptations around. Gail is so on track, she zoomed right past me, hot on Betsy's heels! I'm so happy for her! Now, I'd better get busy!

Two more days and another weekend is here. I'm ready for Christmas vacation!

Have a nice evening, all...

Vicky you and your husband do a lot for your church. That is great!!

Yesterday my music group went to Greensburg PA for Vittone Music Store's Christmas music workshop. It was so much fun. The weather was rain and fog. I was so glad that my husband drove the car. It rained hard and the wind was blowing hard.

Today is catch up day with washing clothes and baking a few more cookies.
All the Peanut butter cookies went at the workshop yesterday.

Blessings to all and have a safe week.

Great recipe! I think I'll do that, too! I haven't gotten any of my decorations out yet. We're too busy thinking about the front window of the church. We've got a lot of work to do just to get it ready. It's a storefront window and it needs a fresh coat of pain. I'm thinking that's where Bob is right now...painting...

Monday is here again Where do the days go. The house is decorated and our tree is up and the nativity is under it. Cronos the cat has a new job. We have a guard for the nativity. At least he thinks he is. He keeps the baby safe but the shepherds and the wise men get knocked over. He likes to move the sheep too. Our cat thinks that we put this up just for him.

Time saving and good cookies bars. Peanut buttter blossoms. Add a few chocolate chips to the dough. Spread the dough out on a 9x13 pan. (grease bottom of the pan) Bake for 20 minutes and remove from oven. Then put the Hershey kisses on 4 rows by six. You have 24 square bar cookies. They are great!!

Prayers for all of you.

This time of year is always so busy and the stress builds. Last year I was too tired by Christmas. This year I am hoping to stay calm and say no to some things. So far my week before Christmas will be one that gives me a bit of free time. These next 2 weeks are really busy.

Blessings and good health to all of you.

Preach it, Ann! Woohoo! I have been listening to Gloria Copeland's CD on healing every day on my way to and from work. I have been feeling better every day, getting that Word down in my heart and mind! A young woman from the church walked up and put her arms around me Sunday and started praying for healing in my body! Oh my goodness, I love when people obey the leading of the Holy Spirit! I'm doing my part too. My eating has become so much better and healthier. God is good!

Will do - sending prayers your way and the peace of God which passes all understanding keep you - Holy Spirit guide you - and after all that, just stand. Just stand in the presence in all of the chaos that sometimes surround us ......remember that this same Spirit that raised Christ up from the dead dwells in us.

Ok, I am getting excited now!

Well, I am holding my own, not losing not gaining. I have been under a lot of anxiety and would appreciate your prayers. Things should ease up in a few days...I had and appt. with my therapist today and that went well. Hope that all of you remember that as we get busy that God loves us so very much right where we are and who we are! Blessings.

I miss my Mom,when she was only 47 - quite a while ago. I miss my sis Barbara (2008), my sis Karen (2007) and my brother, Ken (2015)too. Fortunately we are a smaller family who still get together at Christmas. I have gained a sis in law (married to Ken in 2007) and a daughter in law since 2004. Sending a virtual hug to everyone who is missing part of their family. Jesus loves us soooooo much and He wants us to rest in his everlasting arms.

I wanted to let you know that although I did not lose this week at the weigh in, in fact I gained back some of the seven pounds, I did lose l cm. off my waist and three cm. off of my hips, you know the ones that used to be made of cement or maybe they were just frozen.

I will keep on keeping on and you guys too.

It's tough this time of year when you've lost someone. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I used to call my mom and get some excited to buy her presents. She never wanted anything special but she was always the first one on my list. Now I go into a store and I have to put that out of my mind. Gosh I miss her so much sometimes. It's been 2 years for us too and it feels so fresh like we lost her yesterday. But I keep her spirit alive by celebrating Christmas with my dad, brothers and sisters and their families because she loved bringing people together. It was always so happy and lively being around her. I know it's what she would've wanted! We will always cherish her memory. God bless

Bob had been working upstairs and when he came down he said, "I can't believe how late it is!" I said, "Bob, it's 3:15." He then asked me "How come it's so dark? It seems so late!" Just one of those dark days, I guess...

Back on track. Got my Thanksgiving weight back off, thank You, Jesus!

I had company for a bit after I got home from work. Now it's quiet here again...

Hope everybody is doing well...

This week we start the Advent services on Wednesday nights. I hope that they are interesting. Sometimes there are too many long readings.

Where did this months go. I really can't believe we are facing December already.

Surprise today we have sunshine.

A friend just stopped y for lunch after church. Dave made toasted cheese sandwiches and had been cooking a pot of Chicken noodle soup. This worked out great.

I would not be set up so far before Christmas if we hadn't thought guests were coming next weekend. My daughter had said she would help over a month ago when we thought they were coming. I do have to say it was nice last night when we had friends over and sat to have dessert with all the lights and candles. Many times I dont get to enjoy the house until Christmas is over.

Today I really am going to rest. I still need to put out dead flowers and clean up the flower beds before the real snow hits. We started the advent bible study at 9 am before church service. It is about The Day of the Lord. Leading up to Christmas. The class is small so it is easy for discussion.

This week will be practice music or playing Christmas music. I also will have time to check on extra things that have been waiting for me.

Have a good week ahead.

Right now I am not quite ready to decorate. I mean, my mind says "Yea! What a great idea!", but my body says, "Let's take it easy today."

Bob & I went up to check on the cottage today, just to make sure everything is still in its place. We've decided to add on a bedroom as soon as spring gets here. Just a small one, about 8 x 12. It will be great not to have to tear everything up just to open up the couches to go to bed, not to mention putting it all away in the morning!

Hope you all are staying warm & dry...

Hi! Everyone,
congratulations Ann. Wonderful to drop 7 pounds.

Vicky and Liz - It wounds like you had a good time with family. That is great.

Carol helped yesterday and we brought up all the boxes. She put things around and I dusted and cleaned ahead of yer. AI couldn't believe we got so much done. Today Dave and I put up the tree and he put out the lights on the outside. It was a cold and rainy day.

Today Dave and I put up the tree. We were to have company next weekend. I got a note that they were not going to be able to come. That was why I was pushing to decorate etc. I am sorry to not see them but a bit releaved too.

Tomorrow we start the Advent season. blessing to all of you.

Good for you, Ann! Seven pounds is a wonderful surprise!

Just got home from Mom&Dad's. I had a wonderful time visiting with everyone there. My brother invited us up the road to his place to check out some of his handguns. I bought a brand new one last spring and still haven't fired it yet. Gotta make a day for target practice...

Nothing much else going on. Bob will be working until 9pm. I'm just home relaxing now, but I'll have to get up pretty soon and clean up the mess I left in my wake...

Hello to all my U.S. sparkfriends have a super thanksgiving. I have read all of your reports and I pray that you all will be refreshed with strength and vigour after all of your hard work on behalf of your family for Thanksgiving. I am sure it is appreciated - all the cooking and cleaning and having guests over.

I pray for the truck to be fixed at low cost, for Dad and that all the young-uns will wash all the dishes and put them away. Let love and peace surround every one of your Thanksgiving tables.

I have to let you in on a bit of news. Last week I had gained 1/4 lb. which totally surprised me because I have been eating less and doing more physical activity. But oh well I thought! This Wednesday, when I stood on the weigh scale, I had lost 7 lbs. Wowie zowie.

well its back to work for me. See ya!

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the day with family and friends.

I jsut came back from my daughters. She needed a pan to cook the turkey. When I got there she could use a bit more help. So... I stayed a while. It was a good visit time too. Her husband has started a new job and she said he was so much happier. HI was so glad to hear that. Times have been a bit tough for them.

Now to finish my part . I have the rolls, crnaberries, sweet potato and pies. Just need to put the sweet potato casserole in the oven to cook the topping on it.

Well, I'm officially on Thanksgiving vacation, but this is the first time I've sat down since I got home from work! Banana cake is done. Macaroni salad is done. Sugar cookies are done. All I have left is the baked corn, and I'll do that tomorrow morning. Too much food. Hopefully I won't have many leftovers to bring home...

Liz sorry to hear of the problems with the truck. It takes so long to get repairs. I guess there are a lot of accidents.

Glad you go to the school and meet to find out about your children. That is so important. Sounds like they are doing well.

Yesterday was pie day and today is cookie and sweet potato caserole day. Cranberries plain were done the other day. Now for the orange cranberry sauce.

Here it is hunting season big time. Hunters like the cold and the snow to help tracking deer and keeping the meat safe.

Wishing all a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

emoticon It is feeling pretty raw around here these days. Brrrr emoticon My yard is loaded with leaves but it's too cold to clear them and we haven't had time. I stayed home this morning and hustled emoticon to get the upstairs spic and span emoticon before heading off to the kids school emoticon they had great reports. My son thinks he has to save everyone and buts into everyone else s conversations apparently which causes a bit of chaos emoticon among his peers so we are working on him minding his p's and q's. emoticon We still have to work on his reading but he's coming along. My daughter is doing great! She loves school and is having to be challenged by her teacher because she does so great. emoticon
My father got bad news on his truck, it seems to need alot more work than we thought emoticon I had to file a claim with the insurance company to see if they could help. Still waiting to hear back from them, I'm praying that God will give us some answers and light up the paths we should be taking with this problem. Hi!
Liz I understand as I struggle to get ready for this time of year. My husband was with me yesterday as I cleaned the kitchen windows and changed the curtains to winter. We go to dinner Thursday at Carol's (daughter) and I bring dessert, sweet potatoes, rolls, and cranberry sauce. It is much easier for me. Then on Friday Carol will help me decorate my house for Christmas.
I have had a group I worked with in the schools come to our house at Christmas. This group meets the second Saturday of the month for Lunch. We were 12 and fit around my dining room table. Several of our group have passed away. A couple of the group now bring their daughters and other family. Last year there were 23 as one had 6 of her family. Now everyone helps with food BUT I move furniture etc bring in tables and chairs to do this. I am 78 and not able to
move all this stuff. This year we are meeting at the residence where the one that has so many coming. I only do the ham.

The music group will be here for their holiday dinner. We have the two Lowrey organs. We play music for each other. That was at one time 30 of us. We are now only 11 players that go to the nursing home to play. We add spouses and have about 20. I put up tables in the living room etc. when we finish that dinner the husbands all help and tables etc are down and all is cleared out in a few minutes. emoticon

I am slower these days. My mind can think of what I want to do but the body just doesn' t keep up! Prayers for all. Sue

Holidays are exhausting! My mother still stays up all night before Thanksgiving and Christmas cooking! Then she dozes in her chair all day. She's 78 years old! It doesn't matter what we say or do, she'll do it anyway! She says it's because she wants the leftovers! Well, she can have them, just let us cook them!

Sue I know what you mean about getting caught up. Every time I set out to clean this or that something happens and prolongs things. Today I was at a birthday party and got a call that my dad's axle on his truck broke. So I called AAA and they were able to tow it after an hour of jacking it up and repositioning it just so it could get on the flatbed. In the process he broke one of the lines and transmission fluid leaked everywhere! What a mess. My dad's nerves are shot, poor guy. He just made his last payment this month! I told him try not to worry and stress, we would get it fixed. After being in the cold all that time my sciatic is killing me! I was able to put all the clean laundry away. Tomorrow morning I'm staying home so I can clean the upstairs while everyone's at school and work. Then I have some parent teacher conference I have to attend. After that it's off to work til 730 ugh. It's going to be a long week emoticon The kids come home at noon on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Then their off four days. I might put the tree up after thanksgiving of I'm not too exhausted. I'm noticing we have more and more stuff and I don't know what to do with it all. I get rid of some much but the stuff I do want to keep it have to pack away. I just remembered I need some more dishes for Thursday. We are having 18 people for dinner then some more are coming for dessert. Just thinking of it gives me anxiety. I'm excited to see everyone. I'm sad I can't do this more often but it's expensive. Everyone is bringing something but the host incurs most of the bill. Anyways off to get some rest. Good Night and God bless

This has been a rain and snow day. It is too warm for the snow to stick. It is a dark day.

I have also had a time with the weight. I got down to one goal and then wiped that our with the reunion, a wedding and the trips. My husband has decided to go to the gym too so that has been a positive. help. We agreed to try for 2 to 3 x a week. It helps me keep my balance and my right leg working.

Winter is coming and I agree with everyone that the days need to be longer or the work load less. I just can't get caught up.

Prayers for all of you.'

Don't feel bad, Liz. I gained 10 pounds in August alone. Now, with the holidays coming, I'm almost in panic mode! I've been trying to watch what I eat, but with a few physical problems, I'm not getting any extra exercise in. Just making it thru the day at work is tough enough. All the exercise at work should count for something, but apparently not. I'm just trying to not overeat. If I can stay where I am throughout the holidays, I know I can kick it in gear after the first of the year. But 10 pounds make a huge difference to my knees and ankles. Still, we will continue to try, right?

Today is the Pittsburgh trip. Dave always goes with me on all the music and church things. He is on the WV Goodwill board. This is the awards luncheon that they hold in Pittsburgh. I go with him. Our area is part of the WV & Southwest Pa district. We have a new Goodwill store and training place opening here soon. We have had a smaller store but this will provide work training too.

We drive to Uniontown PA and ride a bus with other people to Pittsburgh. We don't all have to drive and then find a place to park. It is a nice lunch and they honor companies that hire the people they train. I enjoyed learning about all Goodwill does for the people..

Time to go! I am glad I get on line this morning as I am not sure when we will be getting back.

Hello all,

I think I am back on track. We play 2 homes this week and then play for my daughters workplace. She iw at Valley Mental Health and they have a Thanksgiving dinner for the clients and employees. We play while they wait to go in to eat.

Now.... I told my husband we have to do more of this together living and less of the busy work stuff. We enjoyed out time at Hilton Head. They are friendly and we went to the gym and pool. We plan to go back next year in September. (hopefully no hurricane). While we were there on Tuesday night the alarms went off in our building and the fire trucks came. some on had pulled the fire alarm for our building.

Hilton Head was still cleaning out a lot of trees and branches. Many places were damaged by the branches falling. I did sit and relax out on our deck. I also took a nap 5 out of 5 days. Below are pictures of the place and of the tree branches etc. They were using trucks with an extra wagon on the back to haul brush off the island. Bluewater resort lost their dock but they had taken in all the equipment.

I think I am almost back on track today.
Sue

Liz, we've had super-fleas around here this fall. Every time Hopi went out, she brought some of her little friends back with her. She's had the topical treatments, we've used some natural ones, and bombed the house 3 times. Everyone recommends these Seresto collars you get at the vets, but I got them cheaper on Amazon. So far so good. They're supposed to last 8 months. I'd recommend them!

Sue that's so wonderful that you had a great vacation. It's so nice when we let go and just go with the flow. Vicky what is going on with your pets? Fleas? We usually use advantix or Frontline. Haven't had to use the collars. No snow here. We had a really cold day then a warm day. Weather is up and down everyday. Yesterday my poor kitty pulled a muscle in her hip, she seems better today but limping a little. She's getting old. Watching Hallmark movies, love them. Prayers for everyone's safety. Good Night

Welcome home, Sue! Bet your animals are happy you're home. Right now one of mine is sitting here on the floor pouting because I won't drop everything and play with her. We put those Seresto flea collars on her and Cleopatra last week and both of them are in a much better mood, except for Hopi right now because she wants to play. Those collars are expensive but if I'd gotten them in the beginning, I would have spent a lot less.

Today it's going to be liquids for me. I'm stuck again, so this is how the day will go...

Have a lovely Sunday, all...

Hello and have a good day.
Prayer for our country as the turmoil continues.

Tomorrow we drive home we leave about 6 am. I may not get online until very late.
We have had a very laid back few days. I don't feel so wound up. We did eat well. I was hoping to stay better on that. We did walk and go to the pool and gym.

Back to reality.
Sue.

I am just so glad this election is over. Now, back to real life. No matter who was elected, God is still on the throne and He promised to take care of me & mine...

Went to the doctor with Bob yesterday. No lymes disease! Still, they are checking a few other things out, but we're expecting good reports all the way...

I need to get off here and pay some bills, so you all have a great afternoon...

Vicky I hope you are better. How is work going this year?

Liz Happy birthday to your daughter. Have a wonderful night out.

Ann Hope you try the pepperoni rolls. The ones you make are easy and really good. I put in as much pepperoni and I can.

We have really had good days here. I am glad that I pushed to repack and come back. I think my shoulders have dropped about 3 inches now that I am relaxed. We have enjoyed our days doing things together, It was cloudy and cool yesterday so we went to the gym and the the indoor pool. (heated) We walked all around the resort and took an afternoon nap. It is not busy here this week and so it is slow and no hurry,

We will have a buy week when we get home but I think I will be ready. Prayers for all of you and blessings as we finish another week ,

I LOVE pepperoni rolls. You can buy them in the store deli here in PA, but they sure don't taste like home made. Serve them with your favorite marinara to dip them in!

I've had a rough couple of days here physically, but God is faithful and I AM healed. Besides that, my nephew and his wife gave their hearts back to the Lord last night. I pray God surrounds them with strong believers and they are led to a good Holy Spirit filled church. They live in Kentucky...

Elections tomorrow. Kinda worried, but I put it all in God's hands. No better place to be...

Have a lovely day, all...

Hi! from Hilton Head.
We are finally here. We stopped at my friends in Columbia SC for Sunday dinner. . (we started first grade together so we have been friends for many years. )

Now!!! Pepperoni rolls.

Pepperoni roll are native to West Virginia. The men going into the mines took their lunches in metal pails. The women made rolls with meat in them. Pepperoni wouldn't spoil over the hours in the mines. Other states do not allow baking bread dough with meat in them. you can take a baked roll and add meat and heat it up but not bake the meat inside.

To make Pepperoni rolls today - easy way

Buy a package of pepperoni sliced or buy the long sick and either slice it. You can also cut it in long sticks down the middle and then in 4 long strips and then cut it about 3 inches long.

Now buy frozen roll dough. I use the Texas roll dough. It is a little larger but regular dinner rolls can be used too..

Put the rolls out to thaw enough to work with the dough. I spray them with a little oil so they don't get hard on the outside. When it is soft enough to flatten the dough out (about 30 minute or so) and make a rectangle you are ready.... Make the rectangle of dough and put the slices all over the top of the dough. Then roll up the dough so that the pepperoni is inside, Fold over the dough to close the top. Press the sides in to seal it. If you do a stick of pepperoni then just roll the dough around the stick. Close it off and seal the sides.

Put these dough with pepperoni inside on a baking dish 9x13 or larger.

While working warm your oven to 170 F degrees and turn it off. Put the pan in the oven and let it raise for about an hour or hour and half. Check and watch them double in size.

Now you are ready to bake them. Take them out of the warm oven and turn on the oven to 350 F degrees. When the oven is ready put the pan of rolls in the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Woo!! Hoo!! you have pepperoni rolls!!!.

You can do it the hard way and stir up your own yeast bread dough.

If we were home I'd show you a picture of the finished rolls.
Let me know if you try them..

Sue

What are these pepperoni rolls made of? My family loves pepperoni! emoticon It was a cool day today, had to go to a brunch for work in Boston emoticon this morning. Then pick up the kids at a birthday emoticon party laser gate. Then my daughter went ice skating. Busy day got home around 6, left at 9am. emoticon Made tortellini for dinner but now I have heartburn. emoticon Yesterday I had my car looked at and it needs to be repaired. Luckily I have a friend that can do it alot cheaper than my mechanic. So will be getting that done soon. emoticon my husband is not feeling well, he had stopped some of his meds prematurely and I have a feeling that's why. I'm hoping he gets better soon, thinking it may be his emoticon blood pressure. He is under some stress at work and finances have been tough. Tomorrow is back to work, I have worked out for almost a week straight though emoticon Good night and God bless emoticon

Sue:

I have never heard of pepperoni rolls. It makes sense because your friend is from Michigan and I am from Ontario.....right across the way from Port Huron - or at least my home town of Sarnia is. I am now inland more in London, Ontario. When you have time, can you print the recipe here? My grandkids and hubby like pepperoni so they would probably love this too. Enjoy yourself making them.

We went to some church bazaars yesterday and got some nice small things. Had tea with an older lady and her daughter. It was a lovely fall day, with summery 22 degrees celcius.

I am not sure if you all have daylight savings time or not, but we just had daylights savings time end where we "Fall back" to eastern standard time, gaining an hours sleep. emoticon

Well, enjoy your Sunday ... I have already washed my hair and am letting it dry naturally before I get ready for church. I do like that it is natuirally curly, emoticon

P.S. my hair is much longer than my spark picture, just past my shoulders. I have gone back to close the colour in the sparkpeople picture for a change for fall. I was looking washed out.

Prayers for Deb. Healing and strength for her body to heal.

Thanksgiving we go to my daughter's home. It is small, just us. Christmas is here and usually we have family or some friends that have no family here.

Tomorrow we leave for the trip to Hilton Head. I am glad that the resort called to give us this week to replace the one we had to evacuate. I am also rushed because this is a busy part of the year. This time I am really going to sit and watch the water go by. I am tired. .

Today my daughter is bringing a friend and we are baking pepperoni rolls. It will be fun. The young lady is the daughter of a good friend of my daughter. She is from Michigan and has never had pepperoni rolls. This sill be fun.

Blessing to all
Sue

Everybody enjoy your Thanksgiving. In Canada, we already had ours. (It was on the day that you celebrate Christopher Columbus day).

Praying for Deb that she get off the breathing machine and I just saw in the spirit something that they use to fan fires, I forget what it is called. I just pray that the Holy Spirit fire pump precious new amazing oxygen into her lungs and force out the "bad" stuff. Pneumonia be gone in the mighty name of Jesus!

Holly, the grands and I will be going to my parents house for Thanksgiving. Bob, as usual, will be at Walmart, since they insist on being open earlier than Black Friday. No Thanksgiving for him. I will bring him home a doggy bag, just in case the Walmart people stick them with pizza for lunch again this year...

They were going to take Deb off the breathing machine yesterday, since she is breathing on her own, but she got pneumonia, so she has to stay on it for a while yet. Thanks for your prayers...

Prayers for Deb and husband. Healing takes tine.

Liz what a great Halloween where you live. I mailed Halloween cards to the children that will move next door at Christmas. No visitors for candy again. Parents take the children by car to the housing developments or to the mall party. Tell Catherine we are proud of her too. It is so good to hear about successes.

Ann Way To Go !!!!! Good for you. Pounds off and centimeters down. Proud of you. Every step in that direction is great.

Tomorrow the music group is here at my house to set up our program for Nov. and Dec.
Where did this year go???? This week is almost over .

Blessings to ll.

Congratulations to Caterina on her two wins! It makes a mom proud, eh?

I lost two pounds that I found out about at the weigh in at work and also a couple of centimeters off my waist, hips and chest.

Praying for Vicky's friends that were in the accident.

My Dad and I used to have season's tickets to see the Sarnia hockey team called Sarnia Sting. They were and "A" team in the listings. One guy who also had seasons tickets used to always yell, at least once per game, "Eat em up for breakfast!!!!!" you could depend on it.

Hello, Colder and rain here. The trees do not look pretty most are bare. We have had high winds.
Ann It sounds like a great game to attend. What a good time with the grand children. That is wonderful.

Vicky our church had a small number last week. This week we were full. We thought many people had traveled around the state to festivals last week. AI will pray for Dev. Her injuries sound bad. Keep us posted.

My friend that lives in Columbia south Carolina sent me a note. She was glad we had evacuated Hilton Head when the storm came. When I told her they have us another week she sent another note. She thought the resort was making a good public relations move by offering another week! There was an article in there paper that said 20% of the buildings in Hilton Head were damaged by the storm. Two of the golf courses in Sea Pines are just opening back up this week. Another won't be ready until Thanksgiving. They said 1500 trees were lost.

We will see what it looks like next week.

Blessings to you this week.

Small turn out at church this morning. One woman asked if everyone was on vacation...lol. It was the first Sunday I'd been there in 3 weeks. My body is not cooperating a lot lately. Today I left the sanctuary and sat outside the doors, where I could still hear Pastor Bill. My legs are too short for those seats, and the ones outside are nice and comfy! Sometimes I just have to be comfortable! We had acoustic worship, so the service started off differently, too...

Please pray for my friend, Deb. She and her husband were in a motorcycle accident yesterday. Gerry was treated and released, but Deb was sent to St Elizabeth's hospital by life flight. She has a concussion with small brain bleeding and a crushed knee. I don't know anything else yet...

Have a great day, all...

Hello all on this wet and rainy Sunday morning. The London Knights hockey game was exciting and very close. In the end they had to go into overtime as they were tied 3 to 3. In the end the other team won. From looking around, the rink was almost totally full.

Unfortunately, in the beginning of the third period the goalie for the London team got hurt when he was reaching way out to catch a puck with his right leg and collapsed in pain. He had to be taken off the ice leaning on two of the management members.

We learned later in the Saturday paper that he had a lower body injury, unspecified. All of our hearts went out to this young man who worked so hard for his team. He got a standing ovation and a hearty applause went throughout the rink for him. We pray he will heal soon.

The other replacement goalie went in and did well. He was only eighteen years old. No more injuries, thank God.

My husband had a really challenging time with all the walking from the parking garage and also once in the rink, we had to walk a long, long way. He had to stop four times for him to get a rest. He had his cane, but really should have had his walker.

He really enjoyed the game once there, yelling out at the appropriate times.

Tonight, we take the grandkids to the Hallelujah party arranged by our church. We go to Fleetway 40, and they can take part in two different activities. Rock climbing, bowling or putt putt golf. They also get a blizzard (from the attached Dairy Queen) and a big bag of candy to take home. They really enjoy these outings.

Enjoy church today everyone!

Good to hear from all of you!

Sue, I'm really happy for you to get to go on vacation again!

Ann, how was the game? My husband isn't into sports, but I was born into a family that is. It can get crazy at their places on game days!

Liz, I'm sure your little one will do just fine. And I'm sure glad I don't have any little trick or treaters in my house. I haven't had an actual candy bar in years, but then, I tend to go for cookies, and donuts. Every time I see a commercial for candy bars, I remind my husband that I haven't had one for a long time, but he doesn't take the hint...good man...

Have a lovely weekend, all...

emoticon It was a cold night tonight at the trunk or treat. emoticon The kids had to wear a layer under their costumes and coats but got through rather quick. We now have a bowl of candy and chocolates sitting on the kitchen counter emoticon that I've dove into twice or thrice. Feeling sad about that and my weight gain emoticon I don't seem to be able to get out of this Rut I'm in. Planning on going to the gym emoticon early emoticon before the competition. I really have to make healthier emoticon eating choices. I'm thinking about getting a new shake emoticon called muscle emoticon milk. I heard they taste good. emoticon Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be better although I will be in an ice rink emoticon I'm praying my daughter has fun and does a great job. Have a good weekend everyone. My hubby and I are going to the London Knights Hockey game tonight. We got to purchase box tickets for only $6 more than regular seats through our Recreation Club at work. Gonna pick up my man around 5 p.m. and get changed into something warmer. Honestly though, I feel like cocooning at home in flannel pjs. I am sure I will have fun once I get there.

Good to hear form both of you.
Today I was out early and had coffee with friends. We have been doing this for more than 40 years. We use to meet before we had to be at school. Everyone was in pretty good shape this time. As we age there seems to be a new problem each month.

Today I am trying to catch up. I want to be repacked to leave next Sunday and go back to Blu Water Resort. I still can't believe that they called and gave us a chance at being there fror week.

The summer things end and we pickup the winter schedule. Time goes too fast these days.

Prayers for all.

Oh, Liz, I love hearing about your family! Glad you're getting over that cold.

My fridge died night before last, so Bob & I bought a new one last night. My Holly called me before we left and said God had a word for us, not to buy the first fridge we saw, just take the time to pray and ask Him what He wanted us to have. So we did. The new one is bigger and without the glass shelves I don't like. AND it was made in the USA and only $5 more than one we normally would have gotten. Maybe God is going to replace everything I had to throw out and more...I'll take it! He is so good!

Have a great day all. Tonight is my last Friday Night Light, until spring...

Sue that's wonderful! It's always better when someone works out with you, it keeps you accountable for your actions. It's especially wonderful when it's your spouse! emoticon I know this firsthand because I love going to the gym with my hubby. emoticon Vicky that's is so great that you'll be debt free! We are trying, step by step paying on the bills we have. It's especially difficult with two vehicles with payments. Unfortunately there is no way around that right now, we both work very different schedules and the kids have their schedule too so we need both vehicles. We are planning on paying some bills off in the coming year which will make a big difference. My father will be paying his truck off next month so that'll take some pressure off of me. We were helping him because he wasn't able to afford everything. Things are working out for the better and I know our God has a bigger plan for all of us. Tomorrow is trunk or treat at the school. The kids will be batman and a jeannie. emoticon the weather should be ok but cool. Tonight is rain emoticon . My brother lives in New Hampshire and their getting snow emoticon I guess I'll count my blessings and enjoy the rain. I went to the gym after a week of not exercising because I had a cold, chest congestion. emoticon But could not work out to my full potential. I was getting cold sweats so I left, bought some decorations for thanksgiving. Cleaned downstairs and got it looking and smelling good. emoticon I'm going to have it downstairs because there's more room. Now I just have to put away all my laundry emoticon emoticon there is not enough hours in a day. Saturday is catarina's skating emoticon competition and Sunday I teach children's church. I'm already pooped emoticon

Glad to hear the stories on financial blessings! I got a letter last month about my pension with another company I had worked for. They were offering an early lump sum payout on our pensions, if we chose to take it. I only had about 30 days to make up my mind. They way things are nowadays, we prayed and felt God's leading to take it. It wouldn't have made much difference financially to wait another 3 years, and it might not be there when I did retire. So, I sent the papers in yesterday. Once I pay my car and the cottage off, I'll only have my motorcycle payment, and that is being sold in the spring, since I've only ridden it maybe 6 or 7 times in the last 2 years. We'll finally be debt-free again! God is so good!

Good to hear from everyone. You have my support. I am praying for all of you plus your requests.

Ann, Thank you for sharing. When I was alone raising my daughter I always put $20. in the freezer for hard months. I understand the financial hard times. Now today we really need to sell this big house and move into something smaller. We could pay off everything and enjoy our life. We looked at a couple smaller houses today. At 78 I don't need all this room and want to be able to know where my things are when we move. I moved my friend and her mother just sat in the chair watching. I don't want to wait until I can't help and work.

My retirement looked good in 1999 when I retired. But now everything is so much more expensive.

My prayer is that we will see blessings before the year is over. Answers sometimes take a while because we don't see the whole picture. Praying for all of you.

Sue

Liz: I do hold you and your family up in prayer that God will give you dreams and directions for your finances. It is nice to hear about all of the "stuff" you are doing with your family. Always enjoy your messages with emoticons.

Let me tell you one story about how God came to my rescue in 1981. I was a single mom at the time, with a little son to take care of. I was working full-time and I got $100 a month from my ex-husband to help take care of our little one. I owned (with the bank) an older home that had been made into a tri-plex which I lived in the biggest and the best two bedroom apartment on the main floor and rented out another two bedroom (upstairs) and a small one bedroom which helped me pay the mortgage.

Well in 1981 the mortgage rates went up and my expiring mortgage was at 10 -1/2 %. The new mortgage was going up to 18-1/2% which was making my payments rise substantially. I could not see how I could make it. I had a meeting with the mortgage company and it did not look good for keeping my house.

I had a dream that was sent by God that got me out of the predicament. I had to give my own sister who was in the small apt. two months notice to vacate, as I had to move into that small apt. with my son. She understood thank God. I then rented out both the two bedroom apts. and got more money for the mortgage. The apt. would have been called a bachelor, except it did have a small livingroom, kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom. I put my son in the bedroom and I slept on a couch, that had a "click clack" release so it opened up into a 3/4 bed. Half of my sons toys went to his grandma's house.

Anyway that made it and after a year, the rate went down and I finally moved into the second best two bedroom ....Yay God! Back to work for me.

Ann

emoticon Nice to see all of you doing well. emoticon I am always keeping each and everyone of you in my prayers. Today was my husbands birthday. We celebrated with his grandmother and aunt by going to Texas roadhouse and ate too much emoticon as usual. Yesterday I cooked his favorite meal and baked him a chocolate cake. emoticon got off of work early to share his special day emoticon My daughter will be competing this Saturday in figure skating. My son just got awarded his next belt in karate. I'm so proud of them. We are going through a rough patch financially emoticon and praying and listening to the Holy Spirit emoticon to guide us through on making the right decisions. Tough with the holidays emoticon coming but I have faith that God will see it through. There is a problem at work as well with an old disgruntled employee that has taken advantage of a situation that has gone much too far and I am praying for it to disappear and not cause any repercussions. If you all could pray for us during these times, I would greatly appreciate it. I give all glory to God, emoticon he has been so good to me and my family and I know he has a wonderful plan for each of us! I put on some emoticon weight and need to get it off, I feel it in my clothes. Hoping I will stick to tracking with sparkpeople cuz I know it will help. Been feeling a little congested emoticon so I haven't been working out for a few days so I have to get back to it. Good Night and God bless xo emoticon

Sue I am so glad you get to do a redo on your vacation. Good for you. We got a call yesterday from our daughter in law and grandkids. They are back home from Florida but are quite tired. After two days, they were allowed into Disney after spending two days once in Cincinatti and the other somewhere in Tennessee due to Matthew. I did not talk to them at length but will see them tomorrow (Tuesday).

I am back to work today after a two week vacation. Boy this morning went very fast. Not used to getting up at 6:45 yet, even though I made myself get up by 8 a.m. the second week of my vacation to try to get ready for it.

We didn't think we would get any refund or get another week at Blu Water Resort in Hilton Head. We thought all was lost because a storm is considered an act of God. It was a surprise. Also, the week they had was the only week we could go because of the commitments for my group to play holiday music in Nov. and Dec. We will miss the Kiwanis meeting and the retired school employees meeting. But, I am not president of Kiwanis now and another lady took over my job at the retired school group. We have our usual animal sitter coming so I am comfortable leaving. It is hard to rest even a day when we are at home. There are too many things going on.

We still have to get outside to clean up some of the things before winter It is cold and dark today again.

Humanna is sending a home visit today. She is to come soon. I have had them here before so it is just to see if we are doing okay.

Have a good week and prayers for all.

Good for you, Sue! You get your vacation after all!

Praying for Sudie, that she is surrounded by God's comforting presence.

One more week of Friday Night Light and we'll be closing down for the winter. No more sweets around the house to tempt me! I will suspend my baking until spring!

I've been behaving fairly well with my eating this week and the scales are showing it. Now, to try for 2 weeks in a row...

Have a great weekend, all...

Okay will keep praying for Sudie and add dad and Ray.

Busy week so far. Glad it is the weekend. We got a call from the resort in Hilton Head. They are re-booking us for Nov 6 to the 13. I couldn't believe it. We are going to have a vacation and I just might get to sit and watch the water go by. emoticon

Have a good weekend.

Sudie could still use prayer as this is the month her son died. My dad has fallen recently, and a friend Ray does not know the Lord and may die soon, please pray for his salvation. Thank you. Blessings to all.

Ann, glad your Dad is doing well. I know your eyes are still need prayer. Prayers too that you and husband continue to make progress.

Vicky, I will add Becky. It is good to get a joy message about Gail. I understand about Kathie.

We have rain and a dark day. I had hoped to get some outside work done. Yesterday we had a really good afternoon with the nursing home. One lady sang with songs she knew. We had 6 mien in the group. Many times it is all women. I think the group was more alert . We played for an hour and a half. We usually only do an hour. We will be going back in December.

God bless you today and every day.

Holding Betsy up in prayer this morning that the migraines will cease in the mighty name of Jesus and sinus trouble clear up too. We trust that Kathie who is in your loving arms and care will turn towards you Lord as you love her Lord more than we can for sure!

Sue my dad is doing great - saw him on Thanksgiving. Thanks for asking. Hubby is calling me...
