Hi Sue: Thanks for your comments. Our visit to our regular Retirement Home was cancelled last Sunday. We will go again next month. I think they had a special event going on. It was nice to have a rest since we were so busy on Saturday going to the sugar bush and the farmer's market.

Hi to one and all:
My hubby and I went to another "Whats's For Dinner" cooking class at our Loblaw Grocery Store. I had something I never had as the chef cooked, an Asian Dinner Bowl. It was made of Tofu and Buckwheat Noodles served cold with a vinagrette dressing. They used an oil that had a mixture of flax oil, grapeseed oil and Olive oil. It also had on top of it: small frozen peas, cucumber cut into sticks, coriander spice, avocoda slice on the side, red pepper sticks. It was presented very well. I thought I would not like the tofu, but it was cut up into sticks as well and it took on the taste of everything else. Since it was served cold, I did have a bit of trouble with the buckwheat cold noodles - texture more than taste. it was a bit slimy tasting to me, but I took a deep breath and cut up and mixed up everything and on second taste it was good.

We are so brave aren't we?

I started to work on the last week of March madness. So far it is good, but maybe not as much exercise as required, but I am moving.

Have a great day to one and all and especially all those new members to the team.

I got up this morning and saw the ground covered with snow. My little green shoots from the flowers were covered too. I guess there was a miscommunication about Dpring coming.

We play at a nursing home this afternoon. It is in Pa and we stay and eat together. I really will be sure I am careful. I jokingly say I give up cooking for lent. We eat on Tuesday at the Kiwanis meting and Wednesday at our church. We go to the fish fry at the church near us on Friday and we eat out with the music group.

Stay safe and well.

Ann that is a wonderful message.

Today I started back to Curves. Last night I asked my husband if he was ever going to get started back at the Gym. We joined when he need to work on his hip before and after with the therapy right at that gym. Lakeside does therapy as well as has a gym.. He said no! Today I had an appointment and needed to go to the post office too. Well, The post office is near CURVES. So I went and restarted my membership. I still had my tags and they just put me back on. I stayed and it sure felt good to get the exercise. Now I think I can get more exercise each week.

I am working on the March Madness and need more minutes.

Monday starts us all over again. You are all still in my prayers.

Our pastors are away in China right now. We had a guest speaker who talked about how Jesus dying on the cross did more than COVER our sins. He obliterated them --- The speaker told us how as a youngster his job was to sweep the foor and how he used to have to pull a big old rug off the hardwood floor to sweep it. properly Guess where he put all the sweepings? You guessed it under the rug. He spoke on how in the Old Testament when a sacrifice was made it covered the sins of the people. But since Jesus came, no more sweeping sins under the rug. The speaker even did a calculation one time about how if you take a person who lives to age of 70 and say he committed one sin a day, then multiply that by about 3 billion people who have lived on this earth and combine it with all the people it came up to a magnificient number (sorry can't remember it) anyway he opened our eyes up once again to see what a wonderful thing and an amazing thing Jesus did on the cross for us.

Today's service was nice. There wasn't many people there but just the right amount & my husband did the announcements and did a great job. He wants to preach someday and I think he will be great.
We went to the gym then had dinner with my mother-in-law and her family. Tomorrow it's back to work for us and school for the kids. I didn't do so well with eating today nor yesterday but there's always tomorrow :-) Good night and blessings.

It looked like spring today. The sunshine and blue sky were wonderful. the cold wind could have stopped. We had a good day. Our Kiwanis club is collecting gently used blankets, towels, and wash cloths for the homeless shelter. I was not going to work today but a friend called and she had 6 blankets to donate. She just didn't have anyway to clean them. I am washing thwm now. We need to take them on Tuesday evening to the meeting.

I have really been good with the March challenge. I am tracking better and the weather has helped with the exercise.

My plants are showing little balls where there will be flowers. I can't wait.

Happy Spring to everyone.

I agree that the church service was really good. If anyone is looking for a good book to read, I would strongly recommend "If not for the grace of God" by Joyce Meyer. Blessings.

Just got home from church and had a wonderful service. Sunday is every man for himself, when it comes to lunch at my house. I'm waiting on everyone else to get out of the kitchen so I can fix myself something to eat.

Been doing well at keeping under my calorie limit, but my sodium has been out of control...

Have a lovely Sunday..

Good Morning Everyone!! :-)
Spring is here!! I can sense it, some of my flowers are sprouting up and most of the snow is gone. Yippee!!
We just got back from Florida on Friday, it was in the 80's there and oh so beautiful & so much to see @Disneyworld :-)
The day we got back it snowed and it snowed yesterday too but nothing accumulated :-)
Back to the old grind or new grind.Lol
We ate a lot on our vacation but walked alot too. My first day I tracked over 20,000 steps!! So it evened things out.
Ann-Wonderful news..I'm doing the happy dance for you!! :-)
Vicky- I think I'm going to do the same and spruce up our home with new comforter, couch pillows kitchen towels and bathroom etc.
I'm pretty sore from going to the gym yesterday. But I plan on going today too. I am doing a workout called the venus factor and its been good and I'm sweating when I'm done so it's working.
I will do the March challenge as well, little late but maybe we can continue into April?
So what's everyone doing for Easter? It's like 2 wks away..Have a wonderful day everyone. God Bless

Welcome Horsebooks and hello to everyone.

Today is the first day of Spring. At least that was on the calendar. I hope the earth and weather man catch up. It is raining and dark here. I do see that my plants are popping up in the flower bed. This has been a busy time for us.

Blessings to all

I had a great lunch out with the office today. We went to an AYCE Chinese buffet, but I was good. God helped me be good. I'm not stuffed, I stayed on the South Beach diet (that really works for me), and I left the restaurant feeling pretty proud of how I admitted I was powerless over food and let God manage me today. Interestingly, my fortune said I should never be afraid to ask for help, because an extra hand is always welcome. Stpes 1 through 3, every day, taking one day, one hour, one minute, one second at a time.

I am so glad He is available all the time, anywhere, any place and He will never leave us nor forsake us. I love leaning on the arms of Jesus! I always imagine Him wearing a big old flannel shirt like my Dad wore when I was young and could fit into the crook of his arm. In this world of performance, performance, performance, it feels so good to know that He has done it all for us already. I am constantly amazed as I think on all Jesus has done for us. We do not need to wear any type of mask or act like we think we should to be accepted. Yet He does not leave us alone, but gently (sometimes not so gently) leads us to More In Him. Thank you Father God that Jesus is sitting right beside you, ever interceeding for us. He sent Another, Holy Spirit to lead us, guide us comfort us....saying go this way, to be our lawyer or counselor. Ah.....I could go on, but it is time to go back to work. Bye to one and all.

PS I saw a spelling mistake again! Now hopefully all is correctly spelled - bye

I think small groups are great. Enjoy your new group! I am a learner from way back. We are taking (almost finished) a small group at church on Wednesdays, covering the book, The Believer's Authority. I am finding it very interesting. We have at the beginning every night some conversation starters that are always fun. Example, if you were a vegetable, which one would you be and why? Or What is the most dangerous thing you ever did? Laugh riot.

Sue: Sounds like a Subaru is a car to continue purchasing. Maybe when our old van gives up the ghost, we should look for one of those.

Vicky: I am so happy you will be getting some new windows. I know how exciting it can be to qualify and receive a grant. We were so happy with qualifying and receiving the disability tax credit for husband Terry.

Well its back to work for me. My hubby and I are going out for Corned Beef and Cabbage at a restaurant tonight for St. Patrick's day (I married an Irish/German heritage guy) and they are going to have Irish dancers and Irish music. We will probably be there for an hour or two before the Green Beer hits the group and things get rowdy!

Hello everyone! I started my First Place for Health group today, but our books for bible study were not in yet. We had a good talk about making excuses for not following our food plans or what we know God wants us to do. I think this will be very helpful to me in my journey. I will pray for all of you today. Blessings.

It's 61 here today and such a change from 2 weeks ago. I think if it snows again, I will probably cry...

God has blessed us yet again. We qualify for new widows for our house thru an energy grant. Maybe insulation and a new furnace too. Our furnace is about 25 years old. This old house is really in need of the windows and that is what I'm most excited about, windows I don't have to fight to open and with the screens built in. What can you expect with a house that is close to 150 years old. We've remodeled the whole inside, but could never afford to replace the windows. God is so good!

Gotta get the dog out for some sunshine today...

Today is sunshine and I have been out already to sweep off the porch. I hope to rake up some of the mess.

Our new car is the 6th Subaru we have had. The first one was the one i used at work and we had it 10 years. It had over 112 thousand miles on it when traded in. The Subaru has all wheel drive and is a bit higher off the ground. This one is a Subaru Outback and it is like the one we turned in. We had to be sure we could get the Encore Organ in the back with the seats down.
It has a lot of tech stuff to learn. It is a light blue metallic shade. I will get a picture to post on my site.

I have a friend that is coming for lunch. She teaches computer at Grafton Middle School. She has a doctor appointment today near me. This has been a hard winter for a lot of my friends. The up and down temperatures seemed to pass the flu and my friend had that. Then she has had some leg problems. She took the day off to go to the doctor and is stopping on her way back home. I used Spark recipe for roasted Brussels sprouts and chicken salad. I really like all the recipes you can look u[p.

Got to get ready it is 10:45 already.
Sue

Sue: Glad to hear you have a new car and that you will be safe on the road because yes, I agree you are both great travellers. What kind of car is it I wonder? We still have our van and it is 2001 model. Yup, to steal a line from Timex......it takes a beating and still keeps ticking. I wonder what that ticking noise is ......just kidding.

Vicky: I too am getting more water in. I think that is the hardest thing for me to change. Left to my own devices and not really trying I drink a large decaf in the morning, and another large decaf in the afternoon and maybe a tea with supper. But I have truly been trying to drink more water now and am pretty successful compared to my non water drinking days.

So, at the bazaar at St. Patrick's church, I got a really nice black purse with red lining for $2.00 and a lovely figurine for $2.00. It is so cute, a lady holding a basket with two geese in it. She has a lovely apron on white with blue flowers. Her blonde hair is captured under a white scarf and it looks like it is windy because her hair is up at the back. Underneath, it says made in Germany. It has a name on it, but I can't remember. It is in great shape and now it is all mine! So, see, I was very mature in my expenditures.

It was so busy though, we could not find a table to partake in tea this year, oh well.....

New Librarian - enjoy your travels ...by the way, they say it is going to go up to 11 degrees Celcius today, wooppee......are driveway is clear no more ice bumps and what is that, I think we can even see some green grass peeking out.

Hello to everyone and especially some new members I see have joined. Have a wonderful day!

Busy day today. Dave took his car in yesterday to see what was wrong. Well, a lot was wrong. Today we went to the dealer and traded it in on a new one. We travel by car a lot and that one was making a lot of noise on our way back for this last trip. I didn't realize that there were so many tech things on them now. That took all day. I have a lot to learn about this car.

Got a lot to do tonight. Check back tomorrow.

Hello, all. Been kinda busy this week. Hubby will be getting back from Daytona bike week late tonight. I survived more than a week with just me and the dog, and right now, the dog is lucky she survived! She was horribly misbehaved this week without Bob here. Right now she is squeezed behind me on the chair while I'm on computer.

Ann, I praise the Lord for His faithfulness! God is so good!

So good to see everyone posting. I always check in, in the morning, but I don't have time to post. I'm working hard on getting my water in. In the last 2 weeks I have been consistently under my calorie range, all but 1 day. I've been working doubly hard at work, too, because my partner, Betsy, was absent for 3 days. I'm so glad she's back!

Well, you all have a blessed day...

The sun melted the snow and it was so nice to be warm again. Tonight we have rain coming. We already have flooding.. I worry about the homes near the river. We are too high for any water but the ground is really saturated.

Working on the exercise today and hope to do more tomorrow.

Stay well and safe

Ann that sounds like a real good St.Patrick's Day event.

It is hard to believe that last Wednesday we were getting 12 or more inches of snow and today it is 50 degrees and the grass has perked up. It is looking green and Spring may come at last.

I weigh in again next Monday. I have been doing the tracking of food and drinking the water. The walking and exercise have not been as easy to get done. I know with the sunshine and the better weather I will be better too.

Stay with the plan... Sue

Thanks for your kind comments everyone!

In January after Christmas I had gained and then I went up 2 more pounds by Jan. 29th which was my last weigh in. That meant I was discouraged but didn't concentrate on it.

I got weighed in again on March 11th and I lost 3.2 lbs. was down 3 cm in my chest measurement and down 3 cm in my waist measurement. My rock hard hips are still the same measurement as January 7th but my exercising has been at a minimum.

Well I am excited we are going to the St. Patrick's church bazaar (with an Irish theme) tomorrow with our daughter in law and our grandkids. Great fun - we go every year. I like meeting new people and having tea, the kids like the games they have, and we all like a bargain. I am so very mature now, I think before buying where can I use that -- sometimes however emotions win over. Also, I hope to purchase some new running shoes with my $65.00 gift certificate from hubby at Christmas time.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

PTL Ann! Super news!

Ann What good news. It was an answer to our prayers. We will keep praying for the rest of the procedures to work out well.

I liked that place you went shopping. That sounds like fun.

We have rain and more rain. The snow is almost gone and the dirty mess and mud is every where The dogs liked being out yesterday but today they have to be pushed out.

We have a meeting tonight so I don't have much time. Just checking in.

Update:

Blood work - AOK re blood sugar and creatine (spelling?) levels both ok
Kidney Function - AOK
Also there was no problem caused in my internal system by the dye they injected into me for the cat scan. I guess there was one med I take daily that might interact, but thank God, no problem there

Yesterday, I got the call from the doctor's office that the cat scan showed no cancer (boy I didn't even think they were looking for that!) but they found an enlarged coronary (correction - that should have read pulmonary) artery so I am scheduled for a echocardiogram on March 27th.

I spent a whole bunch of time just thanking and praising the Lord for the positive results I have received and for all the prayers from my sparkfriends, family and my other friends.

My plan is to continue to pray the Word, claiming my healing and basically leaning on the Holy Spirit. Other than that, I am gonna live my life to the best of my ability, being a witness for the peace that passes all understanding. I am saved, healed and delivered by Jesus Christ and I so want to give Him glory.

I have been back at work for one whole week, and two days. Everything is going well at work although it is really busy.

I continue to pray for all those other people who have to have all types of xrays, scans and other procedures every day of the year. God bless each and every one of you. I appreciate you all.

GOOOOOD News!!!!!!!!

Hey, our driveway is almost melted down to the bare driveway- I haven't seen it for a long while, but I think it is called the hope of spring! emoticon

S emoticon pring has sprung here too. It was almost 60 degrees today. It was pretty windy, but for this time of year here the weather was way warmer than normal. You all will remain in my thoughts and prayers this week as you do the next right thing. New Librarian, I am taking a break from Weight Watchers and start a new First Place group next week. I will let you know how it goes. Blessings.

Sue: The sunshine makes me feel better too. And Vicky - shopping makes me feel better too. We went to Len's Mill Store and spent $62.00 but we came out with many bags full from lip gloss, to canned goods, a clock, and insoles for shoes, to a headband for our grandson Christian (it was purchased for Terry my hubby but either his head is too big or it was a children's version - so now Christian gets to keep his ears warm) I can't remember the rest but it was all on sale. Oh yes, Spaulding brand socks were on for half price.

Our little 6 year old grandaughter Abby called our home on Sunday and she carried on quite the little conversation for about 15 minutes. She is becoming a little Chatty Cathy (that was a doll in my childhood) Not only did she share what she was doing, but she also asked what we were doing, what we ate, and a few more questions. I am so glad thqt we have this "nana hotline". Our grandson Christian also came on the phone with his quick update, so he could get back to the Lego. It was so much fun

I am glad that spring has sprung for NewLibrarian. Sounds like the rest of us will just have to hope for spring. I can hear the babbling brooks now and I am straining to see springs first flowers popping out of the snow.....nope, nothing yet.

The sunshine really helps me feel better. It will be a while before all the snow and spots of ice are gone.

Trying to keep going and do the March challenges. I feel more like doing things when it isn't so cold and icy.
Take care everyone.

I think the ice in my driveway is about a foot deep, seriously, except where I park my car. Bob left for Daytona Bike Week yesterday morning and is planning to be gone for about 10 days. I went to Walmart and got new sheers for my living room and they were too short, so I made another trip to exchange them. I want to do away with all the blinds in the house. It's so much brighter in that room now. The dining room is next. I also picked up a new cutting board and some dishtowels. Just a few new things to make me feel better...

Ann good to hear form you. You are in my prayers and I am glad you are getting through all the tests.

I haven't left the house since Wednesday about 2 pm. The snow came and the whole town shut down. Today it is to get warmer and the sun is already out. I have also placed all those without power in my prayers. One section has had no power since Wednesday night when this started.

Thinking of all of you. Vicky the schools sent the children home early on Wednesday and then no school now for the last 2 days. Our area doesn't have the equipment to clear this much snow.

Enjoy the weekend and take a break. Sue

Hello everyone:

Just read all of your posts and weather just keeps on happening doesn't it?
emoticon emoticon emoticon

Well my poor husband got stuck in our laneway and the van ended up actually sideways and it was jammed up to the van's underbelly! We had to call CAA and they came after a fashion and out he was on his way to a meeting at church. What happened was the snow plow made our street all better but jammed up the driveways - (what else could they do they are not gonna lift the blade at every driveway!) so Terry tried the "I can make the van act like a four wheel drive Jeep" trick!

Well guess what....it happened the next day too. So he could not call the CAA x 2 in 2 days! (He is not supposed to shovel being a heart patient) so our kindly neighbour helped him get out the second time. Picture Terry looking quite sheepish!

You see he used to have a Jeep and he probably wishes he still does!

So one cat scan done and more blood work tomorrow Saturday. I took advantage of the opportunity and prayed for the other people that were there. I also made a point of telling someone she was a good representative for her area as she made everyone feel good, even the nervous nellie called ANN.... I am glad I did not know I had to have an intravenous and eat this awful vaseline stuff flavoured with mmmmmm bananas! But honestly I was advised each step along the way what to expect. Thanks for keeping me in your prayers. I declare all they will see in the results is God's love and the Holy Spirit which lives inside of me. I wanna be a witness to God's healing power --- and give Him all the roses!

Have an absolutely wonderful weekend everyone

Ann

Dave has cleared the driveway and the plow went down and up the road at 9 pm last night. We were to go to a conference starting today thru Sunday but the hotel has no power so it is cancelled. I shoveled the sidewalk and out into ht yard for the dogs.

Our area doesn't have the equipment for this weather.

Hope everyone is goo and you are all well.

We have 8 to 10 inches of snow now this morning. It has snowed since last night about 7 pm. Dave has plowed with the tractor plow a path so we could get a car our. The road in front of the house is not plowed so we wouldn't get far. Most of the time the severe warnings turned out to be nothing but not this one.

I feed the birds and they were here all morning so i need to put out more seeds.
Be safe everyone. Sue

It seems that the storm is really hitting everyone. We are expecting a 4 to 6 inches tonight and tomorrow morning I was going to have the music group meeting at my house tomorrow and we are going to cancel. The rain has flooded several roads and the cold is making the roads icy.

I cleaned my house all day yesterday to have this meeting so tonight I am going to sit and be quiet. Meditation evening and movie with husband..

Quite the weather here today. Snow, changing to rain turning to ice, then back to more snow. Hope everyone is off the highways...

I am beginning to like my new scales. Haven't moved my ticker down, but I will at the end of the week.

Came home to pizza, though. Ate about half what I used to, which is a step forward for me. I got so busy at work, I didn't take a lunch break, so I figured why not the pizza. I try not to skip meals, but today my helper wasn't there and I got enough exercise doing my job and hers, and after missing lunch, I refuse to feel guilty about a slice and a half of pizza...

Hope you all are staying warm & dry...

2nd day at work and I feel stronger. Was a bit overwhelmed yesterday, but I leaned on the Holy Spirit and I mean leaned! We have weather today, snow, ice pellets, etc. A tip of the hat to one and all today. Take care!

P.S. I am not Irish but my husband's heritage is so I am starting to think of St. Patrick's day. The first church bazaar is on March 14th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church from 10 to 2 and I will be there with hubby, daughter in law and grandkids! emoticon

P.P.S. Brownies --- Sue that sounds so goooooood! emoticon In fact so does anything chocolate.......but my legs feel like they need to slim down....oh the sedentary life!

I pray that this is a good month for all of us. Our sermon Sunday as I said earlier was on prayer. That is one of the areas I am working on during these weeks. It also helps to sit quietly for some minutes each day too.

Ann waiting to hear your report.
This weather has everyone getting sick. My daughter has the flu and so does my good friend. I pray that the rest of us stay healthy.

We change the clocks next Sunday. It is move ahead one hour. My dogs just do not understand this. My body doesn't either.

I baked some brownies today for church tomorrow night. I hope they are all eaten and none come back home. We have lenten lite dinner (soup etc. ) and service Wednesday nights.

I can see the lawn now and it sure needs work. When the weather gets better I will have to bet busy. The dogs have run through the flower beds. Jack is blind now and he has no idea where he is running. I told my husband we need a small fenced in area.

Oh! well, more snow forecast for tomorrow night.
Take care Sue

Good going on the weight loss! I am back to work for the first day today, March 2nd. I have one minute to get back to work after my lunch so this is a very short post. Thanks for thinking of me Sue. I have my cat scan on Wed at 2:20 p.m. and I declare that there will be nothing out of the ordinary filling the scan except I expect them to find the Holy Spirit in there!

Hi everyone. It is 26 degrees but the sun is out and the day looks just wonderful.
We play music at one of the nursing homes today. We usually play 4 a month but only 3 because of of weather.

Yesterday our church service was very meaningful to me. Our minister preached about prayer. I know that I have not met you in person but I pray for each of you. It only takes a few minutes to pray. You are all so supportive. WE haven't heard from Ann recently.

This is a new month and I am on day 2. I really need to break this plateau.
Stay well and safe.

So my son came over for a while yesterday and ended up here quite late and than his ex girlfriend (this is recent) started calling and texting and it wasn't good so a poor nights sleep.
However I was really blessed by church today.
Got in a medium workout this afternoon 25 minutes cardio on the elliptical and a pretty good intensity and a few weights.
Re the headaches. Kelly if your blood pressure is up and down that's probably not it. I think the message sounds like a good step. I also would think about how much caffeine you consume. I am not thinking it's the sweetener because it has been recent and that doesn't sound like it's changed. I know that my blood pressure varies some with my weight. It's never been high enough to be an issue but it gets close when I am heavier.
I also can have dizzy spells which might be blood pressure swings.
Probably not much help. I will pray you are not developing migraines.

Church was cancelled but I still had to go out and get some groceries. Bought healthy, for the most part, no sweets, no ice cream, no cookies. Bob is making chili right now. I like mine with green beans, but he likes kidney beans. I'll eat it either way...

Laundry is going, waiting to be folded but Bob is in & out of the pantry, where my laundry is, so I'll stay out of his way until he's done. Thought this was supposed to be a day of rest, but you do what you gotta do, I guess.

Hope you all are having a successful, restful day...

Days slip by too fast. March 1 and I am back at day 1. I know that my one problem is portion control. With the cold weather I seem to need warm food. I am still trying to break the plateau. I hard cooked eggs yesterday to have for lunch. I also cooked spaghetti sauce and chili yesterday to have in the freezer. I cook more in the winter.

We have a severe weather watch until 7 pm tonight. I know some of you have more bad weather than we have had. Stay safe and warm

Trying to eat right, exercise is good 3rd day in a row for me. Late night snacking has got my number. I'm trying to limit my splenda usage as well. I go to the chiropractor monthly & it helps, especially when I work out constantly. 2wks left til Disneyworld, packed most of my stuff already. I can't wait!! Planning on going to church tomorrow, snow has kept us away with cancellations. Snow definitely coming tomorrow afternoon into Monday, 6-8 inches. Yucky!! Have a wonderful weekend..

Well, I have tried out my new scale and will have to adjust my ticker accordingly. I knew my old ones were off, but still, it was depressing to see. I am inspired though, to kick it into gear and get busy. Today I'm going to work on getting the sugar out of my system. Bob may not have a very fun weekend...

Have a great one...

I know a lot of people recommend essential oils. I've heard they are expensive. I'll try to look up something that might help. I hadn't thought about being out of alignment. I haven't had much good luck with chiropractors in the past, but maybe worth a call. I also have a massage appointment I'm going to see if I can get set for next week. I'm one of the few weird ones who have not enjoyed the two professional massages I've had. I can ask them to focus on my neck and shoulders and explain the headaches. It's out of a medical practice. My eating wasn't as good today as the day wore on, but I did get in 60 min on my gazelle while lo was napping. AND I tracked all my foods...the good, bad, and ugly. I'm looking forward to the GOOD changes that will take place with my body and health soon. Can't come soon enough. Thanks you all for the encouragement and prayers. I feel bad for people who deal with daily headaches. It's just no picnic. It's downright miserable. I'm trying to stay on top of it with meds and alternating what I'm taking. :-)

My sister gets migraines also, and she is going to try essential oils and see if they help. Could it be that your neck is out of place? I will pray that you will be able to figure out the cause. And yes, high blood pressure can be the cause of really bad headaches.

It is VERY annoying and dabilitating some days. It's just this throb throb in my temples. Yes, I actually got a brochure about teeth grinding/clenching as I suspect I do this. However, I've suspected it since I was a teenager. I deal periodically with stress headaches and sinus headaches, but I can usually tell it's the trigger. I had horrid headaches for almost 3 months (worsening over time) due to a tooth. That's all fixed now, and for about 3 weeks I mostly did well. It seemed like hot/cold on 2 different teeth were causing mild headaches. Well, then the headaches ramped up...and I have one pretty much ALL the time. So that is why I am wondering if it's high blood pressure. However, my mom is constantly on me about using fake sweetners....so it's interesting that got mentioned. I use monk fruit sweetner in my tea or if I want to sweeten up some tart strawberries...but it doesn't taste right in coffee, etc. I mostly use Splenda. I may just need to back off it. Thanks for all the input I really appreciate it. Almost caught up on here (other than recently joined teams I want to re-visit). Planning to hop on my gazelle for 30 min if lo will nap. Just finishing my lunch now.

Kellie, it took me a lot of years to realize that that was what was causing the problem. The only sweetener I use is sweet n low. Everything else seems to cause me pain...big pain. I was drinking a lot of drink mixes and diet sodas with Aspartame in, and every single time I would get a whopper of a headache. Now that I stay away from the stuff, I don't get as many headaches anymore. I still only allow myself 1 sweet n low a day...

Oh, that is not what I want to hear. emoticon I know I use more than I should (well in Soda and my shakes). I've never had problems in the past. Did it just start causing you problems all the sudden Vicky? Or for your daughter Sue? Well, I am back to tracking...everything! I'll be better able to see how much I am taking in for sure. My goal today is to do a 30 min video while lo is down. It's tolerable today, so that is good. Hoping the workout won't kick start it...but at the same time I have to do something! I actually want to workout. When I can find the time I don't mind it. It's the eating that's the hardest for me! Not much new since yesterday. We got a spot of snow, but not much. Just adding to what we have. It is pretty. Wish it would warm up a little. So ready for spring!

When you exercise you build muscle. It makes a difference in your clothes as the muscle is smaller than the fat. It still has weight. Your body is firming up.

My daughter has the same problem with artificial sweeteners. She can't eat or drink anything with them. She gets a headache and feels really bad. She also has trouble with some bagged vegetables. they make her stomach upset.

We got snow last night Dave is out clearing the driveway. It looks nice because it covered all the mud.

Have a good Friday.

Kellie, my headaches went away when I quit using artificial sweeteners and anything with it in. Makes it harder to lose weight but, I try to do without sugar as much as possible anyway...

It's Friday! It's Friday!!!

Have a great Friday, all...!

Where did I go?! So sorry. What feels like days has turned into weeks! I've been fighting killer headaches, and I'm afraid I'm heading into the world of high blood pressure. I've had my one tooth fixed and for a bit my headaches were gone. Then I swore that 2 other teeth were causing headaches...but the dentist can't find any issues. Sometimes it's high and sometimes it's not. The doctor has issues me some blood work I need to go do, but she is hesitant to put me on meds because she thinks I might have more problems if it goes to low. Having a toddler and temple pounding headaches is no fun. I'm scared enough I'm back to really trying. Do any of you guys have high blood pressure or have had in the past? Did anything outside of meds help you? I'd love to incorporate some lifestyle changes that might bennefit me. Overall, doing pretty good. It's so cold here too, but we let lo play in the snow a bit. Looking forward to trying to get on here daily and connecting again.

Hello, all. Looks like we all need a touch from the Lord. Just had my last meal of the day and came in under my calorie goal. If I have a snack later, it will definitely be something light. I haven't done this well with my eating in a long time, but I still have a lot of water to get in today...

Hello everyone! Trying to be gentler with myself this week and see if I can not be so harsh. I am trying not to compare myself to others, and that is something new for me. I think that I am either better or worse than them, and I am really neither in God's eyes. Does anyone else have this problem? It is good to hear about all the different activities we all do. Ann, I will pray for your health. Let's all pray for one another to draw closer to God each day. Rose

I do understand about the knee. The shots didn't help me. I hope you can find some relief. I thank Dr. Hamlin everyday for the knee I have now every time I get up and walk with out pain.

Looking for spring. I have a few Daffodils that are popping up in this cold. The sun hits them for part of the day. We are almost to March and again this year I didn't seem to get much done in January or February.

I was not going to get on the scale until next Monday....( Hoping I could get rid of some of the weight I gained away last week.) Like everyone I was worried and stepped up to check. Iput back on 3.5 of the pounds I lost. BUT that is not as bad a I thought it would be. Now for lent I am going for the strict write it down carefully and get my exercise in each day. I need to get busy.

Music today was nice. I have all my house back in living order. I had taken cooler clothes sot hey had to go back in the other room closet. It is work to get ready to go and then work to get back on track. I feel tired tonight.

Pra;yers out for all of you. Sue

So my knee feels ready to give up the ghost today.
At some point it will need to be replaced but at this point I am probably looking at holding measures yet if I go in. Probably some injections or something to see if that will help.
I am not sure if it will stay sore or not but . . .
I have been working it harder so tomorrow I will make my workout a pool day. I have a routine I do and a good bit of water walking. Than a long soak in the hot tub and hopefully it will be happy.

Good to hear from everyone. We have driven home. It was raining through South Carolina and up through Virginia. When we got to the West Virginia line the sun came out but the temperature was 23. It is had been raining we would have had icy roads. God was looking out for us. It takes about 20 hours of time with one stop for lunch and a few rest stops to trade driving.

More when I get up tomorrow. Looking forward to being home and settled in.
Prayers for all of you to stay well and be safe.

Ann, so glad to hear your good news! PTL

I seem to have caught up at work...yeah! I had a bit of a rough week last week with what I assume has a lot to do with my age and hormones...stressing over small things and feeling very blue. It is very unlike me. My husband held me and told me that I can't be perfect all the time lol any time would be good for me. I am feeling quite a bit better now.

A couple times a year my church's women's ministry has a fun social night for the ladies. We usually call it "Soup & Cinema." Next month we have another one except this time it is "Spuds & Cinema" (potato bar and a movie). Recently, I have become the designated movie selector. It is difficult to find decent fun movies that everyone hasn't already seen. I try to pick Christian based movies whenever possible, but many christian movies are tear jerkers or more about a man. Most of the ladies prefer comedies with a little romance. I always get a little nervous about whether they will like my pick or not. This time I have chosen Christian Mingle. Has anyone seen it? What were your thoughts?

Monday is nearly done. Been a pretty laid back day. I did get a decent workout in and watered most of my plants, there are many so that is a job. I also ran a couple of errands and continued to work on my book project. Every little bit helps there. Would be nice to get some shipped soon.
Today was beautiful weather. Mid 30s though the wind got a bit much in the afternoon.
Hope others are well to. Sounds like you have had good new now Ann.

Good day to one and all:

(I forgot to spell check and had to fix the spelling of the word, "our" even though I got the $5.00 words ok. Oh Well!)

I have just read everyone's posts. Very interesting indeed! The weather is we have had quite a bit of snow here in Southern Ontario, but it has been sun shiney most of the time. Sounds like Montana is the place to be by the way! emoticon I am vicariously enjoying travel by reading about the trips to Fargo, ND and also Myrtle Beach Florida. My cousin is in Cancun right now.

By the way, that book by Ann Rice sounds good. I am going to see if I can find a copy to read.

Sudie, I don't know you but you have come into my heart and I continue to pray for you. You know with this time off, the Lord has been working on my heart doing so more healing on the care needed after my brother's death which will be two years in May. Putting some pictures in an album and I guess not pushing it down but dealing with it. I feel so much better. I will see him again.
emoticon

Vicky I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing congestion in your chest. Well I am thinking about the God of all comfort who lets us in turn comfort others. I sure have had my spell with chest congestion and I send prayers of healing towards you Vicky. It is indeed a pain to deal with I know.

Vicky, I like your attitude. You will be fine! In fact, one of the most comforting texts I got was from a friend Patricia, who simply sent, "U R Fine"

Thinking back even though I take vitamins and flax seed, etc. I let myself get run down because of being so busy. I still have to learn to say no sometimes!

Although we are affected by working in a school or a hospital or even a day care, or having kids grandchildren in school, the germs are there, and it all adds up. We have to fight back with the Word of God and remember our history with Him especially all the times He has rescued us in so many ways.

Update: I went to the doctors on the l9th of February and he said my lungs have gone from very congested to almost clear! emoticon I now have been cleared to return to work on Monday, March 2nd. I found out that my catscan is for 2:20 p.m. on March 4th so I have spoken to my supervisor and it is ok for me to take the time off for the test..

I declare that they will NOT find anything at all on the scan. I have filled myself up with Who I Am In Christ and been prayed for x2 at church. I cherish the prayers from my spark friends and other friends and family. What a help it has been. emoticon

When I worked in Middle School I think I got every bug that ever existed.
Hard when students are sick and don't use good hygiene or etiquette.
Pleasant day today.
Exercise, church, and made a nice meal for friends tonight and than played games.

Took a day trip to Fargo yesterday to see my son and just get away. Son is doing well. Better than I expected. He had gotten involved with a gal that wasn't the best situation and he has gotten out of that now and is making good decisions and looking to the future and seems to be finding more room for God in his life. So thankful, this is a huge answer to prayer.

Vicky, Good to hear that you take them. Another problem with working in the schools is that you are around children with colds etc. all the time. You are exposed every day. I hope you can get rid of this cold.

WE drive back to WV tomorrow. I am hoping that the roads are okay. yesterday we ran errands with out Aunt and she is set for a while.

Take care everyone. Prayers are going to our Heavenly Father for all of you my friends.
Blessings this Sunday.

Yes, Sue, I do take vitamins. I usually get a cold and then get over it. This time, I never got totally over it and now it's back with a vengeance. I'll be fine.

Vicky, In our area it is also hard to get subs. There are jobs but no one really wants to work. I am so sorry to hear you are sick again. Your system must be down. Are you taking any extra vitamins etc. When I worked in the schools I always took Stress tabs vitamins through most of the year. The job was sometimes 10 hours or more a day.

We see that WV is scheduled for about 12 inches over the next few days. We drive home on Monday. The schools were closed all week this last week.

Take care and stay safe.

Boom! It got me again. Head cold and chest congestion. Part of the problem is I'm wearing myself out at work, since we still have no replacements for the two who retired. One who was just hired decided it was too much for her, and another, who was supposed to be a substitute, decided we couldn't give her enough hours. She'd get all the hours she could possibly want if she'd just come to work when she's called, but she always turns us down...or says she'll be there and then calls off that day! Grrr...people have no work ethic anymore! So, we end up going to work when we're sick, and pass it around to everyone else. hopefully I will get over the worst of this before Monday...Rant over...

We're to get 5-6 inches today...a good day to stay home with a good book...

I am in ND and the weather has been decent here this winter too. I am sure FL is nice though. I guess cold was headed south too though so. . .

Great workout today. I am feeling stronger which is good. Just need to keep it up.

Headed to Fargo and back tomorrow. Long drive (200) for a day trip but my son is there and we will see him and poke around a bit. Feels nice to do something different for a day.

Waiting to hear about the CT scan

We drove to Myrtle Beach today. We are with Dave's Aunt. She is doing quite well. She is still not allowed to travel. She will be 87 in March.. She is exercising and taking care of herself. She always has a list for us.

We head for home on Monday. I am hoping the driving in WV will not be too bad,

Prayers for all of you.

Sue, I think I went to Blue Springs as a kid. Did they make Tarzan there?

We walked a lot yesterday. We went to Blue Springs a Florida state park. That is where the Manatee's stay in warmer water for the winter. We walked the board walk there.

I get to read when we are away from home. There is not much time with the schedule at home to sit and read.

I finished the book "Christ the Lord out of Egypt" by Anne Rice. It is an interesting book. In an addition to the book she tells her story. That was very profound. She tells how she lost her faith and became an atheist and back to a very strong faith. She has a wonderful story to share.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers. I feel surrounded with love and peace.

You know I am feeling better than I was. Off to the doctors today at 2:30 p.m. Haven't had the cat scan yet, they must have a lot of people in line before me. I pray for each and every one of them.

Gonna go to lunch with my hubby before the doctor appt. I am getting cabin fever!
