As odd of an opinion as this is, I enjoyed this episode. I do not condone the behaviors that we watch in this show but I think it's a good idea to show that in most "bad" people there is still a good and human side to them.

You have to remember the character Alex played already had issues, OCD is something that shows up at a young age and gets worse with time. Also he might not have killed animals, they mentioned how much each of the victems was different kill. He really didn't have a pattern.

The boy actually gave Vincent hope, and the boy's adopted mother and his real mother did a great job adjusting him to his blindness and even the death of his mother, and in a way I think Vincent also did, with all the projects they did together. I would think even after knowing that Vincent killed his mother, the boy won't turn out like Vincent.

Vincent first saw his father kill his mother.
Vincent's second strike was his OCD, which compelled him to watch that film over and over, just like with doors and cracks and stuff.
Vincent's third strike was no one seemed to be involved with him, something Vincent had to learn while growing up.

i think to kill again. i really wish it was a two hour show and you could have seen what happened to vincent after his mom died. in foster care or with a relative they didn't notice when he hurt animals, or there must have been signs.and to stalk that little boy all that time i wonder what their conversations were like.and i wonder how that boy is now, knowing that vincent was his friend and killed his mother, will he forgive him like vincent asked him too. or will he grow up messed up. emoticon

I thought that was an odd thing, when they mentioned that he hid the tape from the police all those years. I couldn't understand why he would hold on to that, with the effect of having his memory so warped by constantly watching his mother die. It was heartbreaking at the end, when Derek would not answer his question, "It was him, wasn't it?" -- knowing that in relieving one unknown question he would beging a dozen more...
I have a question for your opinion -- when he started walking the street, ending up in the gang hood, what was he doing? Where was he going?

I agree with you Alex. Especially Alex's acting. I love his style. I loved the way it ended. He gave that boy something at the end, even though he took away one of the most loved figures in a child's life. For someone who is a killer to do that shows he was really asking for help, the OCD really had a deep hold on him too, and from the tape playing in the background of his childhood, his father killing his mother, is something no child should see.

i loved the writing and especially the acting in last Wednesday show. if you didn't know that was alex o loughlin from moonlight fame. he is an outstanding actor who won awards in his native australia.not a big name here yet but watch out he will be. his facial expressions his eye contact with other actors and the camera is phenomenal. he's in a pilot where he plays a heart transplant surgeon. let's hope cbs picks it up. the show was written exceptionally well by simon Miriam i think. spoilers coming so watch out. i think he really saw himself in that little boy. i think he really wanted to die, that why he told the little boy never to wish for it. because you helped me to see an awesome line.and also now matter how dark the moment love and hope are always possible.i thought best criminal minds ever. what did others think. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

The episode that aired this week made me teary eyed. It never ceases to amaze me about the storylines that are created for this show. The connection between the Pycho and little boy was strangely special. Does that make sense to anyone? I love the way they wrote that story although the very seldom have happy endings.
