www.thegrocerygame.com has a $1 trial for four weeks. The other fees are $10 for the first store and $5 for each additional store every 8 weeks. I pay $20 every 8 weeks for 3 stores but like I said before I can save all of that in one trip or at most one weeks worth (one trip to each store) of trips to the stores. It is a direct draft or charge.

The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

Hi Sofnemsma,
Welcome to the team!

I have not heard of the grocerygame.com before. How much are the fees? Couponmom.com is free.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the team but I noticed this topic and had to check. I have been using thegrocerygame.com for almost 2 years and I rarely have to run to the store for anything. I do pay a small fee per store but the lists are so easy to shop from and in one trip I make up for the fee. The rest of the eight weeks is savings. I have done as good as to pay 11 cents for $30 worth of items at a local drug store. I will be checking out couponmom.com as it seems to be popular here. Has anyone used thegrocerygame.com and couponmom.com to compare? Just curious.

The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

This week I cleaned up on Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, and Chicken helper ! With all the coupons, I was able to purchase 8 boxes at the cost of .25/ea! I also stocked up on cereal and with the coupons was able to buy 6 boxes of various cereals for .50/ea!
I also attacked the soup aisle and was able to get 20 cans various varieties of campbells chunky and Select soups for .25/ea ! At Walgreens, I was able to get 12 Arrid XX dry deodorants for .25/ea. I will donate some to our local women's shelter as I don't think I can use 12 in a year! This week I am going after Betty Crocker Brownie Mixes! With my coupons and store sale, I will be getting 6 boxes for .25/ea.
I love chocolate a little too much so I will have to be careful having that much stock on hand.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I just got back from Costco. Since the grocery prices keep going up and up, I told DH that I would be going back there and we would just have to freeze some things so that we don't spend too much on food.

I am not too good a coupons, just do Costco and the specials at the supermarket.

Hello...I just found this team today and wanted to add that I have been using www.mycoupons.com for several years to save lots of money.
I go to the shopping board forums where they have Look what I found Internet deals, Look what I found Brick & Mortar store deals, and also a Coupon trading forum. When there are coupons out there for items that you really do use and want to stock up on I will "trade" with members there... This was extremely helpful when you are looking for high $$ coupons like for diapers, formula or cigarettes...(but I do not condone the cigarettes :)) Hope it helps someone...there is sooo much on this site!
I go straight to the Shopping Boards link that is really small at the bottom of the page.

Sheep,
That sounds like a great idea for a home shopping business!

I also cleaned up at Walgreen's this week! I got a bunch (12) of Campbell's Soup at hands for only $0.50/ea by using the store coupon and a manufacturer coupon. Normally these soups cost anywhere from $1.50 to $1.75/ea. I also bought their advertised special of (3) 12 packs of Dr pepper products for $10 and received a $3.00 off coupon. I essentially got each 12 pack for $2.33/ea . That is $0.19 for each can of pop. I also took advantage of the February rebates and will get $30 worth of products for free including Fructis shampoo, Gillette razor, Sudafed, Soft soap body wash, and speed stick deodorant, Plus I bought all of the free items (after rebate) with coupons so not only are they free, I actually made $5.00 using my coupons, and when they put your rebate on a Walgreen's gift card, they give you an additional 10% back, so I gained another $3.00 on top of my rebate. It's like they are paying me to receive free products!
I love this ! ! !
Carolyn

Woo hoo! Congrats for you. That extra money your putting aside adds up! I'm glad you love couponmom.com....it's such a great thing but I can't see why I can't convince people where I live how it helps them.

Technically with mine it would have been less than $58 spent but I mean some of the things I bought knowing that I couldn't use a coupon for them like the milk for instance and the other stuff was for my sister that she wanted at that time...=) otherwise like I said I'd spend less than $58 and saved more than 50%

I was thinking this couponmom.com thing can be a way to earn extra cash. If someone could pull this off...like you tell your family/friends that if they agree to let you do the grocery shopping for them you can save them money on their grocery expenses. As such as a benefit to you for doing the shopping for them. Whatever amount they save you get to keep half.

For example, if a neighbor of yours spends $100 a week on groceries. What they do is give you the $100 for that week, their grocery list. You use the couponmom.com system...and let's say you only spend $55 on their groceries. That means you saved them $45 bucks. Per the original deal made, you get to keep half. Which means you pocket $22.50 and they save $22.50

Man if someone could do that to at least 5 families that weekend. You could pocket at least $100 bucks minimum per weekend.

I wish someone had the guts to do it :)

Hey Sheep,
I had a great grocery shopping/savings weekend! I just love this whole coupon concept. I did go to three grocery stores in our area (not too far from one another) to take advantage of using the in store coupons with manufactuer coupons on the advertised savings. I only spent $92 this week, which cuts my usual grocery bill down by $59.00. I can see how each and every week as you stock up on products at low prices, you spend less money and always have the products on hand that you need. Life is great ! I have made extra savings account deposits and have even be able to treat the kids to an afternoon matinee at a local theater.
Can't wait for the grocery sale fliers to come out on Wednesday!

I am new to the whole coupon thing, and even just getting started, I was able to shave $50.00 off our weekly grocery bill! I am so excited and looking forward to matching up all those weekly coupons to the sale flyers and getting the best deals on a weekly basis. I wish I would have know about this years ago.

I also get my coupons from the sunday paper, and sometimes stores have weekly ads that I get in the mail.

COSTA, according to couponmom.com the stores that it tracks prices and coupons for in Illinois is Hyvee and Jewel. I hope you go to those stores for your grocery needs. Plus it tracks Target, Walmart, Rite Aid, I think Walgreens, and CVS.

If u get confused with the site let me know I'll explain it to you. I mean serously who does not want to get their groceries 70-100% off?

Like I said the other day I shopped at three stores each of them I saved AT LEAST 80% off.

Thanks for all the coupon website information. I will have to go and check them out. We don't have any of the grocery stores mentioned in the other posts in Illinois. We have a Jewel, Super Walmart, Aldis, and Schnuks.

I've never heard of afullcup.com

But I use www.couponmom.com it tells me what coupons to use and when to use it so that i can get it for the lowest price possible which most of the time ends up being either free or $1.00 or less.

I get my coupons from eversave.com, coolsavings.com, and coupon.com

But i'll check out afullcup.com from now on. Thanks!

Time for me to update since I saved big today.

I went to both Ralph's and Vons which are two major grocery store chains here...and I bought the following altogether:

2 boxes of Nature Valley Granola bars, 2 boxes of Family size Honey Nut Cheerios, Soft Soap Antibacterial Hand Liquid Soap, 6 Protein bars, 2 cans of Progresso Chicken Soup, Healthy Ones Deli Turkey Meat, 2 boxes of Quaker Instant oatmeal, Laughing Cow Spreadabe Swiss Cheese, 1 Medium Sized 12" Frechetta Frozen Pizza, 2 boxes of Hot Cocoa, 2 Boxes of Special K Strawberry Snack Bites, 2 packages of Stayfree Maxi Pads, and Juicy Juice Apple Juice.

All 25 items for a total of $15.86 (using coupons and the club cards for both stores). That's saving a total of 80-90% and spending on average 63 cents on each item.

It says if I didn't use the coupons or the club cards I would have spent: $88.00

I had 2 coupons from the paper for a free package of Hershey's Caocao Reserve chocolates as long as they are $2.99 or less. naturally at Ralph's and Vons they were both at least $5.49. But I went to Kmart to find some stuff for my students and the CaoCao's were $2.99 so I got two free bags of Hershey's CaoCao chocolates! Oh and I bought 4 Packs of Pens (10 count) for a total of $5.59 including tax!

Today I saved 48% at the grocery...AND I forgot my coupons in the van. Woulda done a bit better, but just eliminated the things form the list that required them. Woulda gone out to get them, but my SIL and I were just running in really quickly on the way to pick up dinner courtesy of our parents.

Yesterday I bought FIVE 12 packs of sodas, ONE bag of Fresh Express salad, ONE of those fancy Schick lady razors w/ two cartridges, TWO 12 ct. of Tums, and TWO tubes of COLGATE toothpaste for only $24.94 I saved about 61%. Oh and I'm getting about $10 bucks back total from my sister and my mom. Because 2 of the sodas were bought for my sisters and two were for my parents.

Yesterday was a great money-saving day at Target. I used store coupons, manufacturer's coupons, and formula gift checks. I got 2 large cans of formula(23 bucks each, and that is the sale price) and 2 jars of baby food and a onsie for my niece that is coming in September ALL FOR...23.44. woo hoo! saved over 50%

I get my coupons from the Sunday paper and Huggies and Pampers send me some in the mail. I watch the ads and buy things when they are at the lowest price and I can use a coupon as well.

Today I only started out saving 35%, but then I checked the receipt in the van before I left and realized that they overcharged me for diapers. I went back in and very kindly told them that the diapers rang up 11 bucks and the sign said 7.99. The manager refunded me the entire price for one package and then the difference for the other two. I ended up with 15 bucks back in my wallet!

Amanda, I am so impressed with your ability to save so much at the grocery store even with two in diapers and one eating baby food. I have started noticing prices more, but I'm still not anywhere near able to save like you do. Where do you get all your coupons? Our Sunday paper has some, but not enough to need a binder to keep track of them.

No problem! But I suppose alot of the products you normally don't buy that's why the savings aren't as much. I usually save 50% but it's usually becasue I buy the products they tell me to buy even if I don't normally use them or I have enough. If I have enough of something I buy it anyway knowing that it'll be used up within a 6 month period. But if it's for something that lasts a long time, I dont usually buy it but since I would like to take advantage of a good deal I'll buy it and give it to someone in my family.

Today I saved 47% at the grocery and that included buying some cheese for my parents AND 2 packages of diapers!

I recently bought 3 hungry man dinner boxes for $1.77 each. I know they aren't the best foods but I bought them because they are usually around $4 each here.

But if I eat one I split it with someone because each one is like 760 calories LOL

I have a combination of tricks to save money at the grocery store, as most coupons in my local papers are for brand name products that I rarely buy.
1. Check the sales papers for all the stores in what you consider a "reasonable" distance from your house, and plan shopping accordingly. Keep in mind if you travel for work, you may have access to discount markets not in your area as well (bread thrift stores, Aldi's, etc). I cut my average expenditure by at least $50 a month for a family of 4.
2. Be prepared to buy in bulk when you hit an excellent sale. Case in point-we recently had some good sales on meat, plus I found some packages with coupons because the meat was ready to expire. I averaged $1.49 a pound on boneless skinless chicken, lean ground beef, and ground turkey. In this area, it's not unusual to pay $3.99 a pound regularly for these types of lean cuts.
3. Shop the outside of the store before working through the aisles. Most stores have meat, produce, dairy, and bread around the outside. It's more filling then the packaged stuff, and more of the nutrients your body really needs. You truly do pay for convenience, both financially and nutritionally.

I've been able to pare down a $400 a month grocery bill to about $150, and that's including the extra little trips for fresh produce or other items we unexpectedly run out of. And of course, once my vegetables start coming in from the garden, it'll drop even more.

I just hate memorizing lol...so it's nice to see that I can just print the "good sale prices" list and compare them to the coupons I have it says to use plus if it's a good day there are more deals to be had that isn't on the website list.

I keep all of my coupons in a binder with baseball card sleeves to hold them. I have it in order of where it is located in the store that I usually go. The ads come to me in the paper, so I am always able to make the list before I go! Plus, after about a year of shopping like this, I have memorized most of the regular and "good sale" prices...makes it easy once you get the hang of it!

Yep. Granted you have to be in the us to be able to use couponmom.com effectively but if you live anywhere else or just don't wanna use the website organize your coupons into different categories and before you go to the store make a list of what you need and look at the sale ads and compare the coupons to them and if there are any double coupon/triple coupon events...or just take all your coupons to the store and check out what the savings are.

I prefer the website cause it shows me that info ahead of time.

I agree with you Sheep...if the point is to get the best deals on smaller items that are on sale and with a coupon, I need them to be under a buck.

However, I do spend $2-$3 for Downy and $4 for 100oz tide. Like I said on a different thread, we got 8 boxes of cereal for $5.50 this week. My goal is to save 50% when I go to the grocery, but that is often difficult because I have 2 in diapers and one eating baby food.

i've tried looking but i can't fine any.

You could do the same thing but have to figure out what the prices are this week and whether to buy it or not.

For me anything more than 1.25 for an item after coupon isn't worth using the coupon yet.

Well today is February 6th, 2006 and I went to Vons supermarket chain. I got two 15 oz cans of Hormel Chilli, three 25 oz jars of Prego pasta sauce, 1 box of Rice Krispies cereal w/ strawberries, 2 Campell's soup bowls, and 2 Chunky soup bowls [10 items altogether] for 7.43.

It was funny when the Cashier said I had saved $21.08 (74%). Haha.

I'm going back to Ralph's tonight to get more things for cheap.

Everyone join in and check out couponmom.com I'm serious LOL...it's amazing.

Okay I'm back. Here are the results (I went to the local Ralph's here in southern california) and I only bought 4 things from the couponmom.com list because even with the coupons Ralph's didn't have them at a low enough price so I only bought a jar of Bush Chilli, 2 15 ounce cans of Hormel Chilli, and a regular sized tube of Aquafresh toothpaste for only $3.72 including tax.

If i didn't use the coupons it would have been $9.60 including tax for all 4 products or if I didn't buy it before they changed the prices on wednesday...it might be more expensive after then.

Though I must say that I forgot that I was supposed to buy the Bush chilli at Von's instead because it was cheaper than at Ralph's.

I can't wait for the prices to change on Wed at Ralph's so i can check the couponmom.com database to see what new coupons i can use.

Plus I bought two papers this past sunday so i have double the coupons...I can go to the store tomorrow and buy the same products again for $3.72 woo hoo!!!

So like I posted in my successes I finally got the complete idea of how couponmom.com works and reread their e-book. Turns out i misunderstood it...and it sholdn't be taking alot of effort to save money it should only take about 30 minutes a week. Anyway...it took the coupons I have that's available and unexpired (which was only the 2/4 paper) since i just started, and told me what deals there are with the coupons i have...which is only about 8 coupons and i can only use about 3 of them seeing as i will never ever use the other 5 coupons or that they weren't low enough.

So I'm taking those 3 and going to be buy laundry detergent, and 2 boxes of Aquafresh toothpaste for only $3 bucks. So I'm going to see if this thing really works and I only do spend that much.

So this is my new challenge for myself and for all the couponmom users out there can post their savings and scenarios here or if ur just confused on how it works let me know!

I'm going to the store tomorrow so I will post then how much I really spent.
