I just joined this team. Hopefully it will help me keep trying to get finances in order.
My husband and I went through FPU and it was very enlightening. We have been listening to Dave Ramsey for years and he is right on with pretty much all areas of personal finance. I am a full time student working on my BA in accounting and do not work right now. Our biggest problem is income, but that should change in a little over a year, so becoming debt free is slow right now. Taking the course is worth it, though. And if you get a chance to see him in person, Do It. He is a great motivational speaker and that really gives you more incentive to do what needs to be done.
You can't rely on anyone but you to provide for you when you retire. Things are going to get worse before they get better, if it does get better. I don't expect social security to be there when I retire, so I have to do it myself. The governments budget/debt is a reflection of our own inability to to budget and stay out of debt. Just say no to the spoiled child. I have heard Dave Ramsey say this many times.
Hope all have a wonderful day,
"Excellence is the result of caring more than others think wise, risking more than others think safe, dreaming more than others think practical, and expecting more than others think possible."
