When I was first diagnosed, my doctor gave me a little booklete with do's and don'ts. I followed it very strictly for about four weeks before "testing" other things. My typical day starts with either grape nuts, plain shredded wheat, plain Cherrios, or the Kashi Cinnamon Harvest cereal with milk or plain yogurt (I sweeten with dextrose and/or aspartame. My lunches are usually leftovers from the night before. For dinners I make meaty dishes (I have a couple of recipies in my "cookbook"). I only eat a half cup of veggies (usually broccoli, brussels sprouts, green beens, asparagus, or spinach) a day. For snacks I eat a lot of cheese, yogurt (either plain yogurt that I sweeten/flavor myself, Dannon naturals vanilla coffee or lemon flavor, or Archer Farms boston cream pie, vanilla, or lemon flavor), sugar free instant pudding, sugar free Jell-O, Triscuit crackers, saltine crackers, natural peanutbutter (no honey or molasses...I use Skippy), pistachio nuts, pumpkin seeds, and plain or cheddar and sour cream potato chips. With everything from the triscuits on you really have to watch portion size. Those are all in moderation only type things. I don't know if that will help you at all, but I hope it does. It isn't any fun being sick!
I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me
