Hiya, I'm Natasha. I don't think I ever posted here when I first signed up. But it's never to late to say hi and meet new people. I am desperately trying to lose weight for the last year and a half. I am the heaviest I have ever been and my body is starting to tell me that it can't take it anymore.

I have 2 very active little guys who are 7 and 4. I can't even run after them for too long anymore. Either I get winded easily or my knees give out and hurt for the rest of the day.

I am also an EMT and I am starting to have problems lifting patients and getting winded. I love doing EMS so that is other reason for me losing weight.

I am hoping to meet alot of people and help me keep on track.

Thanks Trish, for rounding folks up.

I have been overweight most of my life, though in good health until about 5 years ago. My BP and cholesterol have continued to creep up. I do not take meds for them and I do not intend to. In a nutshell that is my motivation.

I have 'dieted' a few times over the years but not with permanent success. I finally came to the realization that it cannot be permanent if I do not ALWAYS practice it! That being said, I did not want to be one of those people who is always 'on a diet'. It must be a lifestyle change...for life.

The only one who can do anything about it is me. That's what I finally realized and accepted; since that time, I've had nothing but progress. It has been a short time, it's true, but the old adage is true, 'If it's worth having, it's worth working for.".

In truth, the majority of my success has come from monitoring my nutrition. I didn't even start exercising for the first 3-4 weeks, still I lost 12 lbs.

What I've learned is that I CAN DO IT! The more I realize that, the more I want it. The more I want it, the more I participate in my program.

SparkPeople has been a great support system and I have really enjoyed giving and receiving support from everyone. My wish, is that everyone can find that commitment to themselves so we can all keep one another motivated and enjoy our success together.

I was always one of those people who was really skinny and could eat anything I wanted. Then I turned 30. I have gained 14 pounds in the past year alone. I have never really been able to lose any weight...I guess like many others I lack motivation. My appearance and health ares still in a good range, but I just want to nip this in the bud and start to inch the scale down instead of up. I have no problem working out, which I do every day, but I love to eat! It's the little things that are sabotaging me - a chocolate here, a cookie there. I make my eating plans every day but always go over just enough so that I don't lose any weight. I've never had the sense of accomplishment from actually losing any weight, so I haven't convinced myself I can do it. The internal battles are constant. Not sure what it's going to take for me to actually do this - but it needs to be something!!

I'm probably just the opposite - my husband says I'm "obssessed" about my weight.

Last May I weighed the heaviest I've been (without being pregnant). I've lost 18 pounds over the past 5 months and am 7 pounds short of where I'd really like to be, although I'd settle for 2 more.

My problem is that I'm a tax preparer and from January through the end of April I work 14 hour days, 7 days a week. I don't have time to exercise, I don't eat enough, and what I do eat isn't always the best thing for me. So - I always gain weight during those months and then I struggle all summer long trying to get it off again.

Now here it is the Holidays and, very shortly, tax season and I'm going to start the vicious cycle all over again. That's when I get frustrated!

Of course, being over 50 doesn't help either because it gets a whole lot more difficult to lose weight as you get older.

Great idea, DISH00! Thank you for starting this thread.

I'm struggling with a similar lack of motivation. Sad as it sounds to admit it, I've lost 5 pounds in the last couple months which is the most I've ever lost! Although I'm happy about it, somehow I'm not very motivated to continue. My clothes fit properly now instead of being a little tight. Honestly, I just don't think I can picture myself thinner.

I blogged about it a little bit last week, and it was helpful for me to revisit why I want to lose the weight. Bottom line - I want to get healthy and be active! I'm looking forward to working towards that goal with all of you. :)

I am a new mother of an adorable 10month old boy. I have lost all the pregancy weight + about 10 pounds. I'm starting to reach the point where I'm not as motivated to keep going. I think a part of me thinks I'm destined to be this big forever so why bother (even though I know thats not true)

I'm doing well - but need to get back in gear! Hoping this team can help me do that!

Our team seems to be fizzling a bit so I thought it might be nice to start a new thread just for us to re-introduce ourselves. Lets keep using the November challenge thread to track our progress on all of Tam's wonderful challenges.

Why doesn't everyone tell a few things about themselves, how they feel about their progress so far and what their major accomplishments/challenges are so far?
