Jeffery is like a drill sargeant in the mornings -- if he is ready for the day to start, then everyone better be up. He also wants his walks at precise times and he "bugs" us until we get up and get going. He keeps track of us every minute of the day and gets upset if we have been outside without him. We get a thorough sniffing if we have been away from the house.
Humans and dogs first crossed paths more than ten thousand years ago. Dogs share our lives more completely than does any other animal. Since their domestication, dogs have accompanied and served us in many ways.
My dad is in the hospice with cancer. They let us bring our dogs to visit them. This makes me smile. The way they perk up and get excited when I say "let's go see Daddy!"
I think my girls know I'm getting ready for hubby to come home. They are running from door to door. They keep looking at me like "Why are you still here?"

I'm going to succeed because I'm crazy enough to think I can!
It's early, I let Mutt in to give him his food, he came in and no matter what I did Mutt stayed right by my side.

Man, my summer is flying by too quickly!
I'm borrowing this question from kitty.... What has your mutt(s) done today to make you smile?
Well, to start, Sassy went outside and did her business, big and little business!!! Big smile! But, I held her for a fewe minutes and she nuzzled my neck and layed her pretty head on my shoulder. So sweet! I'll be smiling all day after that!

Youth is in a grand flush, like the hot days of ending summer; and pleasant dreams thrall your spirit, like the smoky atmosphere that bathes the landscape of an August day. ~~ Donald G. Mitchell
