emoticon for taking the tie to share this month's list, Eva. The diversity is delightful! There were only 5 or 6 that I had heard of.

Blessed Be, Amanda

I had no idea there were so many Goddesses! Wow.I've kinda envisioned the Goddess just as "Goddess" mostly. More as an angelic friend and meditative visionary for me to reflect on her qualities.

I've heard of some of the Celtic ones (and a few others). Just had no idea there were so darn many.

Enlightening.

GODDESSES For Every Day
JANUARY 25: “Cliodna (KLEE-nah) is an Irish and Scottish goddess and is one of the Tuatha De Danann, the Celtic people of the goddess Danu.” She is a deity of beauty and of copper; and, she is said to rule the patterns that occur in ocean waves—she is represented by every ninth wave in a cycle, the largest and strongest wave… Cliodna is able to shape-shift into a wren… She often has three companion birds who consume magical apples and can heal the sick with their songs. “In her myths, she lured human lovers to the fairy realm, from which they could not return. She was ultimately sent to the Otherworld, where she now has dominion over the afterlife. ”

Whew! emoticon Got a little behind…

GODDESSES For Every Day

JANUARY 21: “Yngona (ing-OH-nah) is a Danish Goddess whose sacred day is January 21.” Yngona is described as a crone goddess—destroying old and worn forms and removing all that should not proceed into the new year. Her festival occurs when the sun moves into the sign of Aquarius. She was eventually Christianized and became known as Saint Agnes, who may be “invoked by virgins looking for mates and by victims of rape to aid in their healing.” She was beheaded for refusing to marry… emoticon

JANUARY 22: “Bau is a Babylonian sky goddess.” Bau was known as the “Goddess of Dark Waters”, referring to the night sky…She was a goddess of the dog; and, was invoked to bless the crops… emoticon emoticon emoticon

JANUARY 23: “Tanith (TAN_it), a Phoenician goddess…chief deity of Carthage.” She is a goddess who rules the sun, moon, and stars; and, has been associated with Hathor…
emoticon emoticon emoticon

JANUARY 24: “Uni (OO-nee) is the supreme and cosmic goddess of the Etruscans and the city of Perugia, Italy.” Her scope is so vast that she may be thought of as the “Uni-verse”; “the One who contains everything and is the source of all.” She is believed to be the predecessor of the Latin Juno and has been compared to Hera…

Thank you so much for sharing information of that book, it sounds like a really interesting book. I have a the following that I like and have used, actually haven't used in months, but since this was brought up I am going to start incorporating them into my daily morning routine again, now that I am trying to get back on track with my spiritual side among other things.

Gifts of the Goddess 36 Affirmation Cards by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber
and Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue, PH.D.

What I have done in the past, would be to pull out a card from each and read them and meditate on them and how they may influence things in my life or what I could learn from each. Sometimes looking at them a second time in the evening before bed to reflect on how the day went and had I learned anything from them.

This time around I am thinking that maybe I will start a journal and make notes of the Goddesses for each that I have selected and my feelings and such in it.

Oooh! I love that your book has a pronunciation guide--those Celtic names can be challenging! I haven't been keeping up with sharing from my Patricia Telesco book; maybe we can compare them! So many of the goddesses are new to me.

Good afternoon my Goddesses! Yep, I'm still around, just been 'holed up' in my head rattling around for a bit! LOL DH has been gone for 4 days for a professional development seminar; he returns home tonight.
I posted this on one of my other teams and thought I'd would share with the awesome Team of Goddesses!

I recently acquired the book, " GODDESSES For Every Day", by Julie Loar, New World Library, 2008, 2011. True to its name, it has a page dedicated to every day of the year and a Goddess for that day...you read a passage about the Goddess (includes pronunciation!), a focus word for the day, and a short statement/affirmation she calls, "Contemplation". All in all, I am enjoying the book and learning about Goddesses that I had never heard of prior to reading this book.

The Goddess for January 20, is Hebe (HEE-bee): the "Greek Goddess of eternal youth and the freshness of spring...was the original cupbearer to the Olympian Gods". The cup she presented to them contained the magic potion "ambrosia", the "nectar of immortality". Hebe also guarded the Tree of Life...In time she lost her powerful position and was replaced. "Afterward, Hebe was placed in the stars, becoming the constellation of Aquarius."

What are your resources for learning about the Goddess in all her forms? emoticon emoticon emoticon

Blessed be, Pamela
