I go to a deep tissue massage therapist the does myofascial release. I have been going at least 3, maybe 4 yrs and I get some relief for a couple days. We think i would have been in a wheelchair by as bad as it was. The Fibro is involved and that makes it tough. I copied a part of the article you referenced. it is mostly accurate.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------

A skilled therapist with the proper training and experience will address the fascia as a complete system in the body. They will use specific methods and a hands-on therapy approach that allows the fascia to release without force. Given the appropriate methods, the fascia will gently unwind at its own rate with facilitation from the therapist, thus freeing the body to become balanced, and free from restrictions. When restrictions are removed, the body will seek its own balance, allowing the person to become more mobile and pain free. Some restrictions may be relieved in a matter of seconds, whereas other more serious injuries may take several visits before relief is obtained.
----------------------------------------
----------------------
You have to find the right therapist and expect more than several visits for total relief. I have a great one that also does Reiki as well. Good combo if one can find it.

Tomorrow I already had scheduled before this bout an appointment tomorrow with the pain management doctor. I think she just wanted to rule this out she told me on the phone if it kidney related it would be simple to rule that out.

It could be the muscles in the back or fascia pain with Fibro, one never knows. If you are not getting any answers and continue with the pain, it would be good to get an outside second opinion and/or go to a urologist. Hope this helps a little. I have a lot of back pain from the Fibro and it is in mostly the kidney area but my entire back hurts. So you could be having the same thing going on. Don't let me influence you and not get it checked out. You do need a professional to have hands on care to figure it out. Again, good luck in finding a resolution. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I called the pain management doctor they said it could not be caused by medication and they suggested I call my regular doctor . I went into the clinic where my doctor nothing wrong with my kidneys so will see what the pain management doctor says tomorrow at my scheduled epidural. Thanks for the luck! emoticon

I would say it is highly unlikely kidney pain from medications. You do need to discuss this your Dr. if there is a lot of pain and you are routinely on pain medications, you may not be feeling it fully. Please make an appointment to see the Dr. and good luck in getting a resolution.

I feel like I have pain in my kidney area. Could this be caused by medication? Currently on tramadol, cymbalta, and gabapentin. We switched lyrica to gabapentin and don't see any benefits from this medication and lyrica was too much money for me. I looked into medication assistance but we do not qualify. emoticon
I do not see a help emoticon! I am going in for an epidural and will ask my pain management physician.
