Got the Wii 10 minute solutions. It's more of a workout than just the Wii fit, which is what I have been doing off and on. Challenging.

I hope today is the beginning of a new healthy life style. I walked on the treadmill for about 40 minutes. The pain has been bad, and definitely feels better when I move, but you move too much you hurt. It is a vicious cycle and I hope that with my new mentality to walk at least 30 minutes everyday will soon alleviate the pain after.

For the last five days or so I've been swimming 30 minutes and doing what I call Water Chi (some of the Tai Chi warm up exercises done in almost chest-deep water)for 15 minutes. I'm deciding what to do today because my shoulders and neck are so tense from all that exercise that even Robax won't help : (

The spicy food convention was so much fun. It's at Jungle Jim's which is a local grocery store. If you've never heard of it you need to google it. The place is massive, impressive in size, foods from all over the world. People drive hours just to get the foods they can't get anywhere else.
It seemed more like a bbq convention than anything else because there were so many of them. We've had bbq chicken at least two times since to try some of the products we purchased.
The most horrible thing that I tried was pure horseradish. Whatever this was, whatever this man had done to his stuff, it was hotter than the hottest wasabi I've ever had. It's a fast burn so I got over the pain pretty quick, but it caused a freaking asthma attack. My lungs pretty much just shut down from the fumes of the horseradish! Anyways, it was good to walk around several hours and a lot of fun.

Jeswel, have you recovered from the spicy food convention? I thought that sounded like the neatest thing ever.
I didn't get much exercise today. I've spent the day at my Mom's. I realized that I was eating my supper in pieces and kept walking back and forth across her apartment to get my next course of banana, etc. I figured that I was getting in lots of steps, at least.

Friday, I grocery shopped for two + hours.
Yesterday, I baked an epic gluten free grapefruit cake, made tzakiki dip, chopped and grilled dozens of veggies for my SO. I'm exhausted.
Today, going to weekend of fire, a convention for just spicy food.
Is is the week yet? I want to sit on my butt at the computer all week again :)

I'm on my feet a lot at work, so I get in 2-3 miles walking most days w/o trying too hard.
Yesterday I did walk across the main road by my mom's to shop at a couple stores. It was dinner time and still 88*F. It felt great and I loved the sun.
This evening I'll finish off a strength workout.

So far today, I walked the dog. I'm not having a really great day b/c of flaring IBS. Very low energy.
However, yesterday I had my grandsons over for "emergency" babysitting. It's twice the workout at my house than at theirs.
Peace & blessings,

Also, went shopping for a bit last night. Short trip but I admit that it took a bit out of me.

Way to go on the bicycling!
As long as you keep it up, it doesn't matter how little you start with. You'll be surprised at how your stamina really will increase!
Margary - ellipticals are great. Work up your time as slowly as you need to, don't let anyone tell you you're doing it wrong or that you should start out doing a given number of minutes every day!
When I first used an elliptical, I started out with a minute a day. Really, 1 minute. W/in a couple weeks, even though I was only doing several minutes a day, my energy level had increased. An elliptical will give you more workout in less time than a treadmill with less injury. They're perfect - non-impact weight-bearing exercise.
I did some walking today. Yesterday, my strength training was dumbbell wrist curls and dumbbell wrist extensions. I worked one wrist/forearm at a time while I drove to work. I've done that before, but usually I think about it on the way to work and I don't have the dumbbells. So now I'm carrying them in my care.

I would love to ride a bike again! For now, the best I could do was stretch. I could touch my toes finally. I even did the shopping without using a power-cart.

I rode a bike today...the first time in at least 15 years. I actually made it just over half a mile, but my legs felt so rubbery when I was finished. I used to bike every where, but I am long since out of that habit. I am going to try and do it at least three times a week till the snow flies. Do you think using the elliptical can help me increase my leg strength without getting the "fibro fairy" to come visit in response?

I walked to the store. It might be a couple blocks to the highway, it's a 4 lane arterial, then across the parking lot to the store. It's 80*F and I walked there and back.
I'm visiting at my mom's. I still have strength training to do. I think I have my small dumbbells.
I figured out that I can do dumbbell wrist curls and dumbbell wrist extensions in the car while I'm commuting. That depends on the traffic and the stretch of road I'm driving, of course.

I've been working on my strength training. Well, I've been working on doing it At All!
I started back up early last week. This week I discovered that I can do wrist extensions, those are reverse wrist curls that strengthen the extensors on the back of the forearm, and I can also do wrist curls - while I drive to work.
I could try bicep curls at stop lights, but I don't know if I can get a decent range of motion that way.

I did ten minutes of stretching, light yoga, and simple exercises this morning. It was a tough morning, getting up and going was a huge issue this morning. So, finished my stretching and jumped into a wonderfully hot shower. :)

Really? I find the stretching and the yoga much easier on my fibro than cardio.
I went to our local market, Findlay Market if you're in the Cincy area and did quite a bit of walking. Then swam later in the afternoon.
The activity felt really good until last night. I had broken down Saturday and ate some gluten. I've found that gluten not only aggravates my IBS but also my fibro pain. The activity of the day coupled with the gluten made for an unhappy night.

I forced myself over the weekend to some sort of exercise! Did an easy workout on my wii fit, which included about 8 minutes of yoga. Sometimes I think the yoga poses puts more strain on your muscles than a cardio, wow. Also went for a 20 minute walk with the dog. The most I've done in a while.

Did alot of walking during the course of the day yesterday and was feeling it today. Pushed myself to get out and walk this morning before it got too hot. Ended up walking 2.192 miles before my first cup of coffee!!

I cleaned the pool yesterday in the heat of the day. It felt good but needed an immediate nap. Found out I'm vitamin d deficient and feel so much better out in the sun. Am now having a fibro flare. Seems the opposite should have happened.

First priority is Doggie needs day. Brush all 4 of the large dogs, clean ears, trim nails and pet and pamper them, each and every one. Then do regular chores and clean house.

I'm catching up on rest this weekend too. Unfortunately, not extra since I had 2 periods of over 24 hours with no sleep this past week. I know that's not good but it was a necessary evil due to my work and life schedule. I'm feeling ok right now so I'm getting back to some "movement" tomorrow.

Hi y'all! Folks with fibro do better with some movement every day. Occasional days off are fine, but on most days, we can at least get in 10 minutes of stretching. That still counts toward an exercise stretch.
It's June. Do you find it easier to get in movement when it's warmer and - some of the time - drier? I love the sun. Saturday, I confess, I slept for the afternoon instead of going out. I really had to catch up on some extra rest. That may seem like an oxymoron, catching up on anything that's extra - but I'm figuring that you folks will know exactly what I mean!
