Happy Easter,
Dropping in to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Our church has grown so fast over the past year that we have had to go from one church service on Sunday's to four services just to get everyone in that want to worship with us. It's a great feeling to be part of something so wonderful. I love seeing the work of GOD around and through us. Jesus has arose indeed.

Hope everyone has a Blessed Easter Day with all that you do.

Until next time,

Take about the width of your hands - if you were stretching them out in front of you - and clear out/clean/declutter whatever needs to be done - just that section at one time. After that is done - do the next.
Hope this helps,
Julie

A friend at church suggested putting the Microwave in the livingroom along with my electric grill. The remolding is only for a week-I'm getting a new kitchen floor. There won't be a room in my house that won't have kitchen stuff in it. My kitchen is also my dinning room

Maybe you can go for three things a day to do and work your way back in or set the timer for 5 minutes instead of 15 because even for five you would be amazed at what you can do.

Wow, that was a long sentence! Yikes! LOL!

Are you talking about today or in general on the motivation. If it is today - just take a day of rest - Good Friday you know. If it is in general - then make you a list of three to five things to complete each day. Take it small - remember the 15 minute rule. I can't seem to be motivated right now but that might be due to my knee in a brace and not being able to do much more than sit. Ugh!
Hope this encourages you a little!
Blessings,

Bonbon - would you be able to make some meals ahead so that you would not have to worry about cooking? You could make muffins, waffles, pancakes, etc that would be easy for breakfast. Supper meals could be made ahead and frozen. Will you have access to your microwave? I am not sure how extensive your remodeling will be or for how long but maybe this will help. I would not worry about it too much because it will pass.
Blessings,
Julie

I am going swimming if it is open. I do not know what time this would happen. I am also down to around 5 oz of soda a day. I am also to the point that I am still majorly struggling with sugar. I am big time addicted to it and it seems like it will never ease up.

Hi BonBon
I was kinda wondering along those lines myself ...

We don't have any remodeling scheduled but need to. We're trying to figure out if all the plumbing works needs to be done first, as we have quite a long list of issues to deal with, or should we have the siding and windows done first, since the outside truly looks awful...

Seems like FlyLady does discuss remodeling issues and FLYing on her website.

It's been a whirlwind here and I'm finally settling down.

*Sunday our youth pastor announcer that he has accepted a position as youth minister in Spokanne WA, this was bittersweet for me as he's been here for 5 years and has been a blessing to each ministry (but I know this has caused some burn out for his passion to youth and this new position along with prayer, retreats, and mentoring has helped re-ignite that). His position in our church had no job description and so basically if no one else wanted to do it it fell on his shoulders to do it. He was trying to keep workday hours and go to school events for the youth in the evenings and accept calls/texts at all hours. We are a church of 300 people but 6 school districts so a lot of overlapping and such.

*Monday we got the call that my MIL is not doing well & we should visit soon. Well we went over Tuesday night, it took her 2 hours to eat 4 bites of mashed potatoes, 3 small green beans, and 3 slivers of peaches. She only said 5 words and didn't accept help when offered but wouldn't move on her own either. Today we got there mid morning with my SIL and my MIL conversed, joked for 30 minutes with my SIL(she's the youngest and special needs that I am guardian of). Once my FIL started answering for my MIL she stopped talking and her facial expressions were unreadable. We are trying to find ways to encourage my FIL to leave while others in family or home health come in to care for her so he has a break and can vent not in front of her.

*Tomorrow I work an 8 hr day then home to crash, Friday is a 4 hr day, Sat is a hour day then back to care for MIL so BIL & SIL can go to a function & take a break.
**********

I don't dress to the laces when I get up on work days as I need to move stealthily (I get up at 3:30am & leave for work @ 4:25am), but I do swish n swipe in both bathrooms before I head out and reshine our kitchen sink.

Good evening! I just joined the group. I did not realize there was another Fly lady group on here! Hi, Linda!

My name is Julie and I am a SAHM who is homeschooling my two boys. My hubby is retired from the Air Force and is here all the time. So, life is quite interesting. Life is on semi-hold at the moment because I am waiting on knee surgery. It was supposed to be this past Tuesday but was postponed.

Looking forward to meeting you all!
Blessings,
Julie

I just joined the team but I've been a flybaby for 6 years. I have a question for all you flyers. Next week I have some remolding being done in my kitchen. How do I fly with my house a mess?

I wouldn't put it in compost.

There was a period when my husband decided that we should eat tofu. Of course, I would buy it, prepare it and then he wouldn't eat it. SO I stopped buying it. Then I decided to buy some at one point after he died, and it sat in the refrigerator for heaven knows how long. I finally threw it away because was puffed up and the little I could see through the packaging looked--black! I haven't bought it again.

Since it is Passover Season, I've been doing a combination of DeCluttering and Crisis Cleaning. One of the things we cleared out, because "I don't love it, don't use it..." etc, is some expired packaged of Mori-Nu Tofu. If you are interested, read on...

Here's the *** caveat:

I had switched to soymilk during my pregnancy because of allergy to cow's milk, and then started using tofu because of the supposed good benefits, yada yada. Ate it for several years, and after I had bought a bunch of tofu like 4-5 years ago, I'd come to realize that I couldn't do the soy milk and tofu etc because I was getting TOO much of the phytoestrogen effects in my body (messes with my thyroid and I start feeling really awful, plus now I notice that my gut feels like someone is kicking me, after I eat foods processed with a lot of soy and/or soy derivatives, like soy protein isolate etc.).

But I know a lot of people do gain good benefits from soy. It's supposed to be good for reducing hot flashes and other distresses of menopause, particularly I guess with the thinner Asian women.

Now the Mori-Nu people wrote back to my inquiry and stated that "it's best to throw it away after one year past the expiry date on the package" (it's in those Tetris aspic "brick" packagea.).

After researching how it is made in the Tetris (from the Tetris packaginge website)I have some Mori-Nu Tofu, if anyone wants it *** ???

Now the Mori-Nu people wrote back to my inquiry and stated that "it's best to throw it away after one year past the expiry date on the package" (it's in those Tetris aspic "brick" packagea.).

After researching how it is made in the Tetris and how the packaging itself seals it from any germs, microbes etc - they put the soy and the congealer in the packages, seal it up, and the tofu "makes" inside the package. I guess kinda like yogurt, if one knows precisely how much of the starter to use for the amount of milk or liquid you have, it will just take shape inside the container it is in.

So I prepared some meals using up one of the (loooong expired) packages, I think it was actually the oldest one, and it tasted, looked, smelled, every bit as fresh as brand new Tofu....but... since I was the only one eating it (my family really doesn't like tofu.), it took 2 or 3 days to get it all down (I made it in a yummy chocolate tofu pudding or mousse type dessert, think I found the recipe here on SparkPeople?), and then WHAM, I got down with the low thyroid type symptoms. I'm feeling better now that I've gotten it a ways past my system, but don't need to put myself through it again, just to "use up" the tofu...

And so... not sure what else to do with it? Would anyone like it? (can private message me if you want). The packages have not been damaged so there's no breach to the packaging to introduce anything. I'm not sure if it's good for compost? or maybe good to feed pigs out on a farm? or any other non-food unorthodox use for tofu???

Let me know!

Julia

I am on day 11 with soda reduction. It is snowing and my anxiety is starting to spike right now. I am not sure if it is because of the fact that it is snow and I need to leave out or if it is due to the fact that I am told that I am not moving fast enough with my room and that I have to lose weight since the medicade is going to be having more issues where I will need to be paying out of pocket for a lot of different things that last year and this year I will not need to do. I do not have the conditions yet, but some of them tend to happen in my family at a late age.

Good evening everyone,
Please pray for a 7 year old Emma in our community. She has a lump on the brain and found that out after doing a cat scan. She was having a hard time seeing. The eye specialist came in and looked at her. EVerything is fine there. THey are going to do another MRI tomorrow and compare the two. Her mom is an old high school friend of mine.

Please pray for a friend of mine. He was laid off of the job he had. Now he is putting in applications everywhere hoping to get a good job.

Praise Dad's arm has finally healed enough for him to go back to work.

Robert and I went to church today and it was kinda weird. I didn't know until the Pastor started telling a story. The person who was sitting next to me wad released from prison this weekend. Eric said I would like everyone to welcome this person into our family. Eric said that none of the other churches wanted him. He didn't say what he was sent to prison for. It still made me feel uncomfortable. I know we are to love one another no matter what the person has done.

The rest of the day went well. I did one load of dishes and two loads of clothes. I still have a mountain of both to do to get caught up. I wish now that I would have gone ahead and did a load of each every day.

Tomorrow starts back to the normal routine with school starting back. So my plan is to take Robert to school and then hit the gym for strength training and cardio. After that go to Russellville to pay some bills .

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Until next time,

emoticon

Sharon

I had a busy week. Went to the doctor for a bladder infection and also a inflammation in the right hand (tendon). I went to Curves on Friday for my monthly weight and measurements. I lost one pound and 5 inches overall. Happy about that!

Sharon - happy to hear about your son.

PIPSavage - so sorry about your daughter's knee. I hope all goes well with the surgery.

Good Morning Everyone! It's Saturday and I'm going to have to hit my FLY routines. As a payroll SHE, I can't quite seem to pull together both Sparking and Flying yet. I know it will come when cooking healthy, planning meals, exercising, etc., become more of a habit than they are now. To add to it all, my daughter fractured her knee last Friday and will have surgery this upcoming Wednesday. I feel terrible for her, but I also realize how much I have counted on her help around the house. Well ... off to shine that sink and tackle Mt. Washmore! Good evening everyone,
I want to say emoticon to everyone who emoticon for my son. Robert is now 36 hours fever free and looking forward to tomorrow. I have gained a couple of pounds this week. But I haven't worked out any this week either. I haven't worked in the house either.

So now I feel like I can leave Robert at home with his dad and go to the fitness center. Hopefully I can get the extra off and continue to lose weight and get back on track.

I don't think that Mother Nature has told old man Winter that Spring is here and to go away.

If I'm not on here before Easter I Hope everyone has a Blessed Day.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Until next time,

Good evening everyone,
I have been up most of last night taking care of my 13 year old. Last week my husband brought home a bug from school. My son caught the bug last night and I have been up every 4 hours to check temp. Not a great start to the spring break. I heard that this bug can last up to 6 weeks. I hope not.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Today I woke up and got ready to go to Curves. It felt good since I hadn't been there in awhile just because I was busy. But also walked to the salon to get a pedicure and shopped a bit on my walk back. I didn't do much today,in the house, other than swish and swipe and kitchen cleaning. Pretty low stress kinda day....my favorite kind.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone,
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
Spring break started Saturday . 13 year old son and I are getting ready to go to church this morning. My husband Hasn't finds excuses for every week for not going. 1 1/2 years ago my husband said there's a new church that has opened in town. He said let's go try it out. Both him and my son liked it. So we switched our membership . After that day my husband Hasn't been back. So now it is either uprooting my son and going back to the other church where all our friends are., keep going to this church where we don't know many people. But everyone is so nice and goes out of their way to say hi. My son says don't forget to wear GREEN emoticon today.

I hope everyone has a Happy Saint Patrick's emoticon Day with whatever you do. And may you find your pot of gold emoticon at the end of the rainbow emoticon

Good evening all,

Today I didn't do much because of miss-communications. I had told my son that I would pick him up after school. So I stayed at the schools so that I didn't have to drive in the school traffic after school. Well school was out and went over to the Jr. High to pick him up and he wasn't there. I went in to see if he was in after school tutoring. He wasn't there. So I told myself that I would go to the bus stop down the street from the house and wait for him. Sure enough Robert was on the bus. He told me that I didn't tell him that he was going to be a car rider. I told him that he had a doctor appointment at 4pm and since it is 10 minutes to 4 I would call and reschedule it. If I would had known that Robert was going to take the bus I would had stayed home and worked out some. I did walked 3 miles today though walking a round the school. But it didn't get my heart rate up though so I didn't know if it counted or not.

Hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

I am slowly unpacking. The only way that I am going to do better is if I get the reminders since I do not remember what was said. There is no way I can go through all the threads to find them either. I have been with high anxiety and did not binge this afternoon, but I have been with soda today for sure.

Good evening all,
Finally returned home on the 8th and then had to turn around the next morning and take Robert to Little Rock for Pepsi Tournament. I am glad that all of that is behind us now. The kids on the bus sang emoticon to my son on the way home. Yes Robert is now 13 years old. He had a good time Saturday but didn't make it to finals. I heard one of the score keepers tell another parent that if your son or daughter did not have a series of 500 then the bowler didn't have a chance. The rest of the team wanted to go to either Golden Corral or to Burger King to eat. I told both of the drivers that me and Robert are not going to eat supper out. I haven't had home cooking for a week and am tired of fast food. One of mine New Years Resolution is to not eat out at fast food places as much.

So today went good until about 2 hours ago when my husband said to go out and get some oreos or doughnuts and a 2 liter pepsi. He said that he is wanting something sweet. I just wonder what he did when I was gone for a week with the Choir. I cannot go out and get him something without getting me something too. I still haven't jumped over that hurdle yet. So here we are watching nascar and eating oreos and drinking pepsi. I do have to pat myself on the back though because I talked myself out of the pepsi at the house and got me a glass of water. My son says really mom. Water doesn't go well with cookies like Coke or Pepsi does.

I have done 4 loads of clothes and one load of dishes so far today.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Sharon, you are so on the go lately!!! Have a sae trip and hope Robert makes it to his bowling.

Onicam, moving!! that is a job. Good luck. I think Flylady has a site for moving on her Flylady.net. I get an e-mail daily...quite a few in fact. some I just delete that don't pertain to me. Maybe try going there. Are you a member to the Flylady.net ?

Linda, yes it has turned colder here. It was in the 40s when I went out to feed the squirrels.....which I mentined on another team and someone asked if we had chipmonks and I didn't reply yet...now which team and who asked?????

I'll have to see what Thursday thing is to do.

This week has been crazy for me. My 12 year old son is on a choir trip in the eastern United States. There are so many students we had to take two buses. One thing for sure I had to learn to tie a tie. The trip started last Thursday morning and ends this Friday. I was told that I was to help the beginning Men to get dressed. I told the Choir director that a man should do this. She said no fathers signed up for the job. She said that your son said mom can do the job because I have 3 uncle's. 6:30 is wake up call for the students so thought I would have a little quite time before. We are to perform today in New Jersey at the American Boys Academy then head home at noon. I also received a call from Robert's bowling coach that Saturday is Pepsi tournament in Little Rock Arkansas and Robert has to be there or his 4 member team will be disqualified.

That is. Why you haven't heard from me this week. Sorry to say I haven't kept up with how much fluids I've taken in. One of the hotels internet connection is weak. I also don't know how much walking I done this week also. There are three volunteers and the teacher. So that makes me in charge of 30 students.

Hope everyone has a good day with whatever you do.

Just got my rubba scrubba, feather duster and purple rags today. The rubba scrubba was really good for getting my dog's hair off the couch. The purple rags do seem to make things shine, but I did need to put some muscle behind it. I haven't tryed out the duster yet. My house is looking a lot better, but I have trouble uncluttering.

We've got about 3 or 4 inches of snow here this morning. Most of it came down late last night and the temperatures dropped so there is a crust over the top. Bright and beautiful, but cold.

I made a lot of progress on my closet last week and I'm liking the look of it. I still need to purging and organizing the contents and am trying to do that category by category. Working on the lingerie drawers.

I have real incentive to finish some of the things I have started cleaning. In June my children will be home for our family reunion at my sister's. All my kids will actually be at my daughter's house and then we will make a 100+ mile trip to my sisters.
