Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.
This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

You can not change yesterday - it's done.
You can only dream of tomorrow.
The only day you can change is today.
What are you going to do today to reach your goals of tomorrow?
It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it GREAT

Thanks very much. How do you add that cute bar at the bottom of your posts where it displays your weight loss journey?
Hi & Welcome!
Good luck on beginning your journey!

Another hectic day, on my feet since 6AM and just looking forward to the end of the day, kids fed, checking out the Spark website. Tracked all my food - did well except for little trips to the office candy tray. Need to drink more water but if I drink anymore, I will feel like I am swimming. Exercise? Yes, maybe will check with my seventeen year old and then go run on the treadmill to a random Star Wars movie. Maybe not. Or go for a jog... . Its either that or crash! I think someone put Superglue on my chair because I can't move. Just kidding. Well, I am proud that my calories are so far in range and the scale is slowly budging in the right direction. I am so impressed by people who can exercise in the evening because I find it very hard. But I can't get myself out of bed before 6AM to workout. Its hard enough to get up at 6AM to force myself to face the day. It is nice to write here and not feel alone so much. Single full-time working mom. There is no time for anything but work and kids and I just cherish my little down-time and social time with my girlfriends who are undemanding and understanding...unlike any guy I have ever been with. Maybe someday I will date again but for now, its either my sanity or men.
