As my daughter blossoms into a young woman, we have been having a lot of adult talks. Most recently, I have been talking to her about skeletons and shame. Coming clean with her was not only refreshing for me but it also helped her to see that you don't have to be perfect and that everyone makes mistakes.

Even after knowing some of my dirtiest little secrets, she still loves me. And it sorta built a bond there. I have shared with her that my hope is that she will make better choices with her life and maybe just maybe learn from my mistakes.

My parents chose not to come clean with me. I learned of their transgressions when I became an adult and it was horrifying and very hard for me to cope with. I felt as if I had been raised by hypocrites.

I am not sure yet if my open and honest approach to parenting will be a good thing or a bad thing. Only time will tell. I don't think there is a parent out there who doesn't feel like they made mistakes. So we shall see.

Catspurr-Thank you for your reply. When everyone is healthy I think the reason I can't sleep is a combination of waiting for the next crisis to hit, wanting to enjoy every moment of non-mommy time I can, and stressed about other issues that had to be put on hold while the kids were sick.

You are right I need to start putting me first. But if I were to do that, I would be running out the door with my shoes half on and one arm in my sweatshirt trying to get away....cause for me not dealing with this anymore would be putting me first. And that isn't fair to anyone. But it's the truth, taking care of 3 sick kids for this long was seriously scaring me off. Like the same kind of reaction you get as you walk up to a haunted house. "I am NOT going in there."

I had to really sit myself down and say to myself "This isn't time for me. This is time for them. I can take care of me after they are all grown and out." Isn't that awful. But that is literally what I had to tell myself in order to survive and stay here.

You know everything I do is interrupted. And I know every mom deals with this. I know. For me it causes like a skin crawling effect. My husband tried to take us to the beach so he and I could have this romantic walk on the beach at sunset. We had to bring the kids cause even though they are old enough we really can't leave them alone. So here is the sun setting and we are walking hand in hand. When my daughter sticks her toe in the water, breaks out in huge welted hives all the way up to her bum and next thing I know I am baywatch running across the beach shouting for everyone to get to the car and hubby is lifting her to carry her to the showers to wash the salt water off her toe and I am administering benadryl at the same time. Then we are in the car racing through an area we do not know looking for a hospital and he and I are fighting. Course by the time we got to the hospital the benadryl started working and she was fine....This type of stuff happens to us ALL of the time. It already severed our relationship to the point where I feel like I am here just to be here and he is here just to be here and we love each other for staying......but it's not exactly what either of us had hoped for.

Okay, first off, emoticon .

It sounds like you've been through so much already. I'm in the process of trying to break my passive-aggressive habits, and the biggest challenge I've had is putting myself first. When I don't, I find myself snarling at my family. When I do, I tend to be able to handle the stress better and keep my calm for longer.

Try to look at one thing at a time. For example: When everyone is healthy, why can't you sleep? Are you so wound up that you can't relax? Are you waiting for the next crisis to hit? If you can figure out the reason you can't sleep, you can take steps to solve the problem and get the rest you so desperately need. And getting enough rest will help your sanity more than anything else.

Hi I am Mommy_Rx otherwise known as Sleep Deprived Mother of 3 Chronically Ill children (well they are teens now but still chronically ill). emoticon
When everyone is healthy and I am actually able to sleep I can't. I struggle with emotional eating and choose fast food often cause I am just too exhausted and lazy to cook. The demands of my home are zapping my resources. I drink coffee like it flows from the tap just to keep me going. Drinking water almost hurts it is so foreign to me.

I occasionally have to walk my daughter to school (1 mile) and it is physically challenging for me. I end up red in the face, short on breath and in pain (due to past back injuries).

I know changing my lifestyle has to happen in order for me to continue to provide quality care to my family. I was a successful sparker years ago but I have forgotten how to take care of myself or maybe I just chose to not take care of myself. Perhaps I am looking for pity from above. Like hello I need care too SEE!

For the last 15 years, ER visits, inpatient stays and doctors/specialist appointments have been my life. I always feel on the brink of a melt down. I always feel unprepared, stressed and just maxed out. I can't seem to get ahead of it enough to be one of those prepared for anything types of moms. Instead I am always late on refilling meds, tapping my foot at the pharmacy wondering when my last meal was anxious to get home to clean up the house, administer the meds and deal with the next crisis.

One of the stupidest decisions I ever made was choosing to help care for my mother in laws Mom. She had dementia, diabetes and was overweight. Caring for her was physically and mentally challenging on top of taking care of my 3 ER hopping maniacs. I maxed myself out so bad that I mindlessly ran out onto a wet deck and fell down a flight of wet wooden stairs. My back hasn't been the same since. Thankfully it was a wake up call that made me slow down. I chose to not care for Gramma anymore and I put all specialist and non-essential medical appointments on hold for a year. I am passive aggressive. So when I say I chose what I really meant is I ran away from home caused a huge scene made everyone hate me but got the end result I was looking for but sadly lost my support system in the process.

Sigh I need change. I need a mentor/voice of reason to guide me on my journey. I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

I've had similar issues with my son (age 11). Obesity is a trend in both mine and my husband's family, so I've been trying to teach him to eat better. I find I have better results when I lead by example. If he has to eat something healthy he doesn't like, I'll offer to eat it or something else healthy I don't like at the same time.

If I'm cooking, I'll try and make something healthy for the meal. Sometimes I'll just add a salad or change out an ingredient, but it's a start. I've also informed my son that if he wants to criticize what I make, he needs to tell me EXACTLY what he did or didn't like so I know what changes to make for next time. And if he doesn't get a dessert, then I won't eat one in front of him either.

It has helped - sometimes he comes up with ideas on how we can fit exercise in together or making something together. Healthiness has become about being together, which is a good correllation to make. :)

I hope those ideas help. You haven't failed him - you just haven't found a good foundation yet. Keep trying, and eventually you'll find something that holds.

HELP PLEASE!!! I don't know where else to go. You all are a part of me as being friends. I truly need help & I need it fast.

Ok let me start by saying this==I have failed my husband & son so terribly. Especially my son the one person I am to protect more but I did not do that. He is 14 -- 6 feet tall & weighs 260 pounds. The doctor told him he needs to exercise more & watch what he is eating because he is still growing more. So you would think this would be a good time for us to do this weight loss journey together -- think again. I am the evil person who mentions that he can only have so much of this or that. It is hard because he is in school so I do not know what he is eating at school (cheaper for it this way than for him to take his lunch) anyways. It is a battle not only for him but for me also. He thinks I have to have everything my way--I have to be in control of everything--I am depriving him of eating things. It doesn't help that my husband snacks on anything & everything he wants. I have tried to explain to him that he can eat what ever in moderation--watch the calories, fats, fiber, protein--read the label to see how much you are allowed at those reading--it doesn't matter for I am in the wrong so you see I have failed him & I truly don't know what to do. He has knee & back problems for I said in front of the doctor that we could go bike riding she said no because of the back issues but no other doctor said that. She says for him to walk 30 minutes at a time no less not able to break it up or anything which makes it hard for when it rains--snows--icy & with homework, bowling for his school, 4-H Leaders meetings etc just is hard & of course again I am the bad for reminding him we need to do it. I told him we could do weight watchers together which I do not have success on but maybe with him I could since I would be more accountable--that doesn't work well because of school & he doesn't totally understand it & we can't afford for us to join, I wanted to do low carbs but again that doesn't work financially or at school then I thought about the low glycemic which I could give him a copy of the list for school & let him go for there but I do not totally understand it. So I truly would appreciate any ideals or help. Has anyone else gone through this??? Thank you sorry so long winded.

Good evening everyone,
Yesterday I worked on getting the utility room and the kitchen back in shape. I am trying to do one room at a time Until the house is clean again. My son asked me if I worked out and I told him yes cleaning house. He said that don't count like lifting weights or running does. I told him yes it does.

Today my husband took our 14 year old out to breakfast. With it cold out today , I decided to cook up some soup. Then I took Robert to his bowling league. While there one of the parents said you want nachos, pretzel with cheese or a candy bar. I told her no but I am getting up to get a diet coke. I wasn't hungry and had already decided to not to buy the greasy snacks.

My son said that he was hungry. I told him that I was sorry but you decided not to eat the soup that I made so you can wait.

After bowling my son was invited to a sleep over, so my husband and I are alone for the night. My ask me after getting back from dropping Robert off, go by sonic and get us a blast here is $10. I told him okay.

Did take our dog for a walk today and played with our three cats.

Hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Good evening everyone,
The last two years has been a roller coaster ride with emotions and eating. Both of my parents have pasted away and has taken me this time to cope with it. Along the way I started feeding the emotions instead of coping with them. I am ready to start losing the 60 pounds and to be able to do things again that were fun. I look forward to talking with each of you and supporting you.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

I was looking forward to a fun, relaxing day with my soon to be 16-year old. Instead I found out he's been sneaking around playing his Xbox when he knows he's grounded and then when I ask him if he's been playing it, he lies to me about it. He knows I hate being lied to but he did it anyway. I don't trust him to stay off the Xbox so I guess I'm going to have to take the cords away from him.

Good morning! I'm new to this group, but have been in and out of SparkPeople for several years. I'm a divorced mother of three: Z, boy, is 12, P, girl, is 10, and A, boy, is 7. Having returned full time to work three years ago, during and after my divorce, I am still attempting to find balance in all aspects of life, including my own health. It's a hard topic to discuss with my chlildren when I have to tell them that mommy has to take care of herself as well as she takes care of them. I'm looking forward to your insights into living with and raising pre-teens! :)

The days are long, but the years are short.

Good morning everyone,
School is closed again. My 13 year old son is on the fence. Robert is wanting a short school year on one side. On the other side is happy about being out. As of today we are going through June 7th. But school to our north will have to go to school til July 1st.

I am on the Casual Travelers 5% team. I received a spotlight recognition yesterday. I enjoyed reading the comments and the goodies.

I hope everyone has a good day with whatever you do today.

Good evening all,
The week started out with a bang. I fell last Monday and hit my head on brick steps. I didn't have a car to go to the ER to get checked out. So called the doctor's office and was told that they couldn't see me til today. I went in today and have to go Wednesday to the hospital for a cat scan. She wants to rule out any brain damage. I missed being on Sparkpeople because the internet and WiFi have not been cooperating with our family.

I hope that everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday was a weird day. It started off with a bang with me losing 3 pounds. So I decided to celebrate by buying breakfast at McDonalds. Then we all went our own way. I been having trouble getting on line because the WIFI keeps dropping out every few minutes. So I spent 2 hours total getting help with the phone working.

Then my husband called saying that he is broken down on the side of the road to come get him. I went out to follow him back home. Two hours later he said let's go eat out I'm buying. So we went to a Chinese restaurant and I received a fortune cookie that read I can break all obstacles that gets in my way to achieving success.

I told my husband that I think the fortune was written for me. I told him about the 5% challenge and that I didn't let the WIFI stop me from asking for help with the phone. And we will overcome to with the car being down. If it means making Robert riding the bus to school and back home again. Then that is what he will do.

We found out two hours later that it was the water pump that went out. I told Steve that it's not as bad as you originally thought. We'll get by with one car until we get the truck back.

But this week has been one thing after another. Starting with my son falling off the bus and nearly getting his foot ran over.

I hope everyone can stay positive and have a good time with whatever you do today.

Sorry for the long winded story. I can tell the WiFi getting ready to crash again so have fun.

Good morning all,

Yesterday went to church with my son. There was a lady there talking about adoptions. Robert asked me if we could adopt a little brother or sister. I told Robert that this is not a decision that can be made on the spur of the moment. Robert said that dad won't mine because he was adopted. I told Robert that we have to bring your dad into the conversation.

I know that Robert's heart is in the place but the fact is we only have a two bedroom home and being on disability we don't have the extra income for another child.

The internet has been ify the last couple of days. I was going to get on Friday and every time I checked the WIFI it would say "Obtaining IP Address". So today the WIFI is good.

Today is a makeup day at school emoticon . My son tried to get me to keep him home. I said no your teachers and friends would miss you. I came back and getting ready to do some house cleaning after I feed my 5 four legged children.

I plan on going for walk emoticon with one of the dogs this afternoon. I have signed up with a walking emoticon group from the church. Sounds found and can get in some exercise at the same time.

I have started drinking the water emoticon .

Welcome to the team Michele.

Hope everyone has a good day with whatever you do today.

Hi Everyone. Haven't really introduced myself...I am 51, with a 14 and 12 yo boy. This week is midterms for my 14yo, topped off by him getting his wisdom teeth pulled on Friday! Good thing he is doing well on his tests :-) Glad to have found a group who share the whole teenage experience!

Good evening everyone,
I'm popping in to say hi. My son is enjoying the dogs and will say mom will you help walk the dogs. So we have been getting out twice a day and walking the dogs 30 minutes each time. My husband asked how I'm going to enter the walking. I told him that I am going to look and see if Spark has such a thing.

I haven't been keeping track of what I'm eating but starting January 1st I plan on being active again on site every day.

I hope that everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Well it's day 12 of my liquid pre-op diet and things are still going pretty well except that I'm getting physically tired but I guess that's due to the lack of carbs. Thursday's the big day so keep me in your prayers!!

I haven't posted in the daily chat in quite a while so I wanted to drop by and let all my SP friends know what's going on with me. I'm having gastric sleeve weight loss surgery on Dec 12th. I wrote a blog about it today so check it out!! This was not an easy decision but one that is in the best interest of my health and life. I'm on Day 7 of my pre-op diet and so far so good. Tomorrow I begin the 100% all liquids phase of this diet until the day of my surgery so wish me luck and keep me in your prayers!! I'll keep everyone posted on my progress...

Hugs,
Lori

I walked 2.75 miles this morning. It's the end of the 4th week of the 5K Your Way walking challenge. By the end of next week, I'll be walking 3.1 miles. I'm pretty psyched about that!

The best thing about my walk this morning is that I did NOT feel like I was dying by the time I got home. I've built up some stamina and endurance over these last few weeks. That's an awesome non-scale victory!

It's a beautiful day here. After my walk, I gave the dog a bath, and I'm going to do a little cleaning here in a bit. My hubby had to work again today - for some reason his company has decided his schedule is 6 (and sometimes) 7 days a week, instead of just 5. The overtime is great though. When you have one kid in college, and another kid who makes several thousand dollars a year in medical bills, you NEVER turn down overtime! LOL.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

I'm paraphrasing the Beatles. I'm fixing a hole where the whirlpool feel in and stop myself from wondering.

Back in 2008 we redid the master BATHROOM and knocked out a wall to make the room bigger. The contractor that I hired came with references but I didn't check them out. I know it was my fault. About 3 years later we had a tornado come though and a couple days later I noticed a hole appearing in the hall. So I called the insurance company and they sent out a person to look at it. The agent said that it wasn't covered because it was the result of faulty work. Come to find out the contractor put a flex hose on as a drain pipe. So last month I called a pumping service that came highly recommended from my neighbor. He said that the person wouldn't do you wrong. So I called him and he came out and fixed another leak but not the drain and charged me 180 dollars. He said that he was calling the building inspector to come look at it and probably will sue the original contractor. A week later I called the original contractor and asked if anyone had contacted him because I haven't heard anything else. He said no that I was just SCAMMED. So I called another contractor to look at the hall and give me an estimate of how much it would cost to fix the hall. He said that he would do it if I brought the supplies and wouldn't charge any labor. His girlfriend came over and said that he is not going to do it for free that he will charge labor at the going rate. So since I have gotten two different comments from them. I think that I'm going to call a flooring company here in town and see what they suggest.

What do you guys think.

I read this article yesterday. Good thing I did because it's the only thing that kept me sane while trying to get my oldest to clean his room! OMGoodness!!! These are trying times right now and I don't know if I have the patience for this. I just wanted to share this article if you haven't read it yet.

Good Morning!

Got a short work week, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I'll be working with the rheumatologist today, we are looking into switching my son back to an injectable biologic (vs IV infusion). We're having a really hard time keeping his white count up enough to get the infusion, so it's really not helpful at this point. My son is happier about it, because it means he'll miss less school. I sure won't miss the 3 hour drive (each way) every two weeks!

Sounds like everyone had a relaxing holiday. I know I enjoyed my long weekend!

Have a great day, everyone!

Happy Labor Day!

We're cooking out this evening, and I picked up some fresh sweet corn and tomatoes at the farmer's market to go with it. I'm looking forward to it! It's going to be a great day!

My hubby had to work today, so I got up early with him and got my walk out of the way as soon as he left. I't's good to have it done - it's supposed to be in the high 90's today. Blech. I'm SO ready for fall! :-)

Planning on vacuuming and dusting here in a bit, then off to take my mom grocery shopping.

Before I do that, I have to drop my son off at some girl's house. It's her birthday, and he's spending the day with her and her family! They're going shopping and ice skating and out to eat. Since I didn't really think he was currently interested in anyone, this was a surprise! :-) It's hard when your baby grows up!

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

My oldest is 11. I also have a 4 and 6 yr old.

I've been trying to keep up with this whole Health Care Reform stuff but it seems so overwhelming. I couldn't imagine having to work with it! Good luck! Hope you get some much needed rest on this long weekend!

Thanks for the link, Tema. I'll definitely look at that!

Lisa, good job on your loss! How old is your son? I've got a 19 year old and a 14 year old. They can be a challenge sometimes, for sure! :-)

I'm so happy it's Friday. I just feel worn out today! Definitely looking forward to the long weekend. Work has been so stressful the last couple of weeks. Well, really all the time, but Health Care Reform makes my job a nightmare - LOL. With 2014 coming up, there's even more changes.

Hope you all have a good one!

Good morning, all! I don't post much in here and I probably should post more! I am completely freaking out about my son and how fast he is growing up. The whole hormonal change thing is driving me crazy! Sometimes it's like have a little kid again when he whines, but there are other times he's fighting with me for more freedom. I'm so confused and at a loss for words 90% of the time! Ugh!

In other news! I'm down almost 5 lbs. this week! Went walking with a friend last night, been taking my lunch to work most days and cut out the late night snacking with the hubby! emoticon

I increased my walk last night and feel pretty good. I'm frustrated, though, because the scale had not moved at all, all week long. I've been sitting at the same weight ALL WEEK. I was hoping to avoid plateaus for awhile! I'm glad it's not going up, but still! So, I'm going to try to stay at the lower end of my calorie range for the next couple of days, and see if that helps.

My hubby hurt his shoulder at work yesterday. That poor guy can't catch a break. He's only been back at work for a few weeks after having knee surgery!

Good Morning Everyone -

Happy Thursday!!! I am renewing myself today and I am going to try to lose weight again for the upteenth time. I hope I can stick with a program this time. I really had my come to Jesus talk with myself this week and I don't like what I see when I look in the mirror. Yes, it's not fun to be fat, but its the "mobidly obese" title that my doctor labled me under that is really stressing me out. I want to be around for a long time. Hope this is an active group. Would appreciate any advice and support.

Thank you.

Went to my PCP today and she told me again about no bending pulling pushing or lifting more than 5 pounds. She also said to stay away from the fitness center. I asked her what I can do then. She said that I can walk starting with 5 minutes 3 times a day. And then next week add another 5 minutes until I am walking 3 miles a day. I also found out that my fibromyalgia is back and that one of the meds that the nurse practitioner from Rogers put me on was interfering with my other meds.

Hope everyone has a good day with whatever you do today.

Went back to the doctor.last week and still wasn't able to see the doctor. So when they called this week I told them no that I couldn't make it because my son has an appointment for his eyes this week. I told them that I would call them back. But that was to get them off the phone. I am not going back to that place.

I did take Robert to the eye doctor though. Found out that Robert needs glasses. Robert is not looking forward to it though. He is scared that kids are going to make fun of him.

I told Robert that if anyone makes fun of you then they are not much of a good friend. But not to get confused with complementing you on how good they look.

I have a appointment with my pcp to see what she recommends since the last click ice was a bust. I didn't think that I should go back since I was lied to and that they wanted to start treatment even though I didn't get to see the doctor. That's a form of bait (getting me to come back with being told that I would be able to see the doctor) and switch (being told that the doctor was not in and that they wanted to start treatment even without a treatment plan from the doctor). All my friends have told me to not go back but instead of making a appointment with my pcp.

Hope everyone has a good day with whatever you do today.

Good morning everyone,
Went to see a new doctor this week for my back. After driving 2 hours was told that I would have to wait until next week to see the doctor because he had another patient that needed his attention at the moment. She said that the nurse practitioner can see you though. The nurse practitioner asked me what I have come in for. I told her that I have come up to see if there was anything they could help me with my back. She said that they don't do back problems. That they do neuropathic problems.

She said that I see that you weigh over two hundred pounds. She said that you would be a good candidate for our weight loss programs. She said that we need to get you exercising to lose the weight.

I told her about the restrictions that my doctor has me on and that my personal trainer and the coaches at sparkpeople have told me not to exercise until I see a specialist. I told her that your webpage says that you deal with back and joint problems.

I told my son on the way home that it is frustrating to drive 111 miles to be told that I cannot see the doctor and that they don't treat back problems.

Robert told me that he learned from history class this last year of bait and switch. He said could this be a form of that.

I told Robert that I wasn't for sure if it was or not. That if they can't help me next week then I will call a lawyer friend of mine and see what she has to say about it.

The family went to a beach on Lake Superior for a bonfire last night. We made s'mores and lit and let go three lanterns. It was a great night with all four kids, the in-laws and two aunties.

The kids were all standing next to each other with the sun setting and my mom-in-law took their picture. I realized that I may not get many pictures with all four of them together now that the oldest is going off to college. It reminded me how fast they have grown up.

It was a night of good memories. emoticon

Now at the beach with in-laws. My kids (13, 15, 1nd 17) have been playing 500 Rummy with my mil all morning. Life is very good.

Today daughter is off to a 24 hour basketball camp at the local university. Her roommate has never been away from home before, and her mom is nervous. I'm pretty sure they'll be just fine and have a blast. This college women's basketball team and it's coach are celebrities in the community. It's kind of cool to live where women, also, have a place as sports "heroes".

Didn't make it back to the pool, as daughter's new bass came in, and so I took her to pick it up after Bridge Camp. I love going to the bass shop - the guy repairs basses there and I love poking around the woodworking area.

Have had a couple of really enjoyable afternoons at the pool with the boys. I even beat one of them at ping pong. Daughter says she'll join us tomorrow.

Good afternoon everyone,
My son helped me this week clean the bathroom, dinning room and the kitchen. We still have some work to do on both the bathroom and kitchen. When I was sweeping the floor the cats thought that I was playing and was pawing at the broom. I thought that was funny. My son got a kick out of that. But I figure that by the time school starts in August we will have the house pretty much in better shape.

I have to take my son by the bowling alley today to pre bowl since he won't be here Wednesday. We are going to be spending a week at band camp thirty minutes away from home. But Robert has decided not to stay on campus for the week. So I have to drive him back and forth to camp. So keep us in your prayers that every thing will go good and that we don't get in any accidents.

I told my trainer this week that I would like to meet or beat my 5% goal of 10.90 pounds by July 4th. She weighed me and said that I only have 4.5 pounds left to lose. She said that is attainable. To start drinking half my weight in water and the pounds will start melting off.

Yesterday I was ready to start working out and my 13 year old son asked if he could join me. I told him sure. That would be wonderful. This morning after breakfast I'm going to work out with the biggest loser again.

Monday I have an appointment the dietician to evaluate what I'm eating and suggest alternatives with summer here.

Hope everyone has a great weekend if I don't see you around tomorrow.

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes.

I went bowling today with my son. We had fun while there. The owner came over to us and told me that Robert missed the first week of the summer bowling league. I told her that Robert loves to bowl but not with kids that are going to cuss. She told me that none of the kids here does that. I told her that two did and I was not happy and you weren't here. Your son was.

With the water park opening in three weeks Robert wants to go swimming and cannot do both. Next week is band camp and then one week after that is church camp. She said that Robert can prebowl for those two weeks. I said we will have to think about it. She pulled Robert aside and talked to him while I was bowling. When it was his turn to bowl, Robert said that he would like to bowl during the summer league. I told Robert that I would have to think about it. Because it hurt my feelings to called a name that is insulting to women. The league isn't what it used to be. It used to be a good Christian center where you could go and have a good time with friends. Now it's about making as much money as possible.

Came back and cleaned house all afternoon until dinner time.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

GOOD EVENING EVERYONE,
The medicine that the second doctor put me on has made a world of difference. My leg still burns but with the medicine it is a dull thud. So I am postponing any surgery until I can not stand it any more. When it starts to burn if I will get up and walk around for 5 to 10 minutes the burn goes away. When I am at the fitness center the leg does not flare up. Thanks again for asking.

Today was my 17th Wedding Anniversary. The day started out emoticon with my son and husband singing the Bryan Adams hit Everything I do I'll do it for you and then sung the Beatles hit when I'm 64. My son is in choir and can carry a tune but my husband can't. But I still enjoyed it though. Then my son went in to the kitchen and made us breakfast. Which was real thoughtful. I went out and got us lunch. Then tonight my husband brought supper. He said that he didn't want me to cook.

I have written a blog about our first week as a couple and also put a picture of what we looked like then if anyone is interested.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

I'm joining a gym today to get some time to myself. My kids are old enough that I can leave them home alone, and when I am home, I don't take time for me. I hope I can dedicate some time in my busy life for me :)

Good work resisting temptation. I hope everyone's day is going well. I embarrass my kids all the time (sometimes on purpose).

I'm proud of myself today. My husband sent me out to the store for DOUGHNUTS. I'm happy to say that I didn't have one of them. My son told me that I embarrassed him. The doughnuts had a sign that said 12 for $4.50. They rung up nearly 8 dollars. I told the cashier and she returned them and it said 6.60. I told her no that the sign said 4.50. She brought over the csm and asked how Robert was. I said good. Pat said the customers are always right. I said Sam Walton slogan. Robert said that I was cheap and that he wasn't going with me again.

On the way home though I nearly had a n accident. A car was backing up on me and wasn't going to stop for anything. I laid on the horn and she stopped backing up. I don't like people you do ugly things. She flipped us off and ran a stop sign.

My husband and son was telling me how good the doughnuts were and that I should have one. I guess the goals are staying true.

Good afternoon everyone,
Yesterday I went to the fitness center and worked out on the treadmill and the weight machines for a total of 96 minutes.

Today I went to church and served in the cafe. It was hard today because we were giving out chocolate covered doughnuts and regular doughnuts. Temptation was present tapping me on the shoulder saying you know that you want one. My co worker told me that one won't hurt and you have a whole week to work it off.

Hope everyone has a good day with whatever you do today and have fun with it.

My 17yo arrived home from boarding school this week and it has been wonderful to have him home. He's been walking with me; it's great to have one more on the team!

Hoping everyone in OK and MO are safe and sound. It finally stopped raining here in Clarksville. Sorry I haven't been around this week.

This last week of school has been time consuming. On Monday my son told me that my husband of 17 years didn't love me anymore. Last year my son had told his counselor that my husband had been hitting me. She confronted me and told me to get out with Robert before I get hurt. I told her that my husband has never laid a hand on me in 17 years. I said that Robert doesn't like his father and doesn't want to live under the same roof. But why should I leave a home that was left to me from my late mother.

So Tuesday my son had one semester test. So I took him to the fitness center with me and he came to me while I was working out with my trainer and said I'm ready to go. I told him go have a seat I'm not ready yet. So when class was getting ready to start my son said I feel sick and need to go home. I knew that he was not sick. The owner came in and said that I needed to Take Robert home. So he got his way after all.

So Wednesday Robert had two tests and I asked the school if Robert could stay all day. They said yes. So I left him and went over to the fitness center for my one on one with the trainer.

On Thursday Robert told me that he had one semester test and needed to be picked up at 9:39. I told Robert that I would pick him up after class and one on one with Sharri. Friday was a sleep in day cause school is now out. So I rested but plan on going back to the fitness center after lunch to work out more.

I was called to the school to come by and pick up some goodies and was surprised when I walked into the 4th grade special ed classroom I helped with each year. I was told that I was the Volunteer of the Year with 700 hours and needed a picture of me with the Principal to put in next year's annual.

So that is why I haven't been around this week.

What a week! Administering end of grade tests is a drag. One more day to go, and it's done for this year. It's one of my least favorite parts of teaching.

Good evening everyone,
Hope you have had a good time this week. The last two days were a mess. Monday we took the mattress off the bed just in case my son and I had to get under it. My husband was called out to the office of emergency management office just in case of tripping the sirens. We lucked out this time. Then yesterday was another rainy day.

I have almost lost another pound.

Hope you are having a better day than I am having. I was talking to my 13 year old son about his upcoming summer bowling league and how much he will have to pay for the month. He told me that he didn't have the money that someone had broken into his locker and stolen the money out of his wallet. I told him without the money he will not be able to bowl this summer. I told him that we will go and see the principal in the morning and see if the incident was caught on camera. Robert said that he lied about that and spent the money on a ds game. I took him back down to the store and received a refund. Robert then said that he wanted a coke. I told him no not until he pays his bills. He said that I will be broke then. Robert welcome to the real world.

Hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Good morninging everyone,
Hope that everyone had a good day yesterday. I dropped my son (Robert) off at school and then went over to the fitness center for my morning workout. Spent 95 minutes working out and listening to the personal trainer work a couple of ladies. She told me that she couldn't help me today because she has to get the church ready for her son's wedding the next day. I told her that was okay that I would just do what we did yesterday. But I also saw that as I was walking out of the fitness center one hour later that she was with another client.

I returned to the school and found out that a lot of kids were being picked up 2 hours early. The nurse asked me if I have had chicken pox or the shingles. I told her yes to both. I asked why the school is sending some of the kids home early. She said that one of the teachers have come into contact with the shingles. We are sending home the kids that hasn't received the shot for the chicken pox.

So I am glad that the day is over with and get ready for a early morning. My son is going with the beginning band to silver dollar city for their end of the year band trip.

I hope everyone has a good time today with whatever you do.
