I've read the books too. Well I'm on the last one and have been dragging my feet to finish it. I checked out the websites and they have all the stuff I could find in a store and MORE. My daughter saw me checking out hot topic online and now she has a wish list. Oh great look what I started. Pencil bags , bandaids YES bandaids and a little Edward figure. For anyone who plans on buying the movie when it comes to DVD.. it will be out the end of March. Cafe press even had kid, Mom and baby sizes.
I ordered my daughter a t-shirt on-line from cafe press for the night we went to the movie. She loves it - full cast photo on front of dark shirt. It was good quality and has held up very well to several washings. Cafe press had plenty of choices regarding style / color of shirt.
I read them with my daughter to make sure they were appropriate. They are pretty clean and a good story line. The only thing I didn't like in the second book (spoiler alert) was how depressed Bella became after Edward left - I told my daughter that you shouldn't build your whole life around a boy (she thought I was lame!). Anyway I read 3 of the 4, I'm an avid reader as is my daughter - they were a little slow at times, but I found myself wanting to finish. I took her and a friend to see the movie (they wouldn't let me sit with them, but I wanted to see it - so I sat alone with the other Moms). The movie was o.k., not as bad as the critics said, but it was a good thing we had read the book or we probably wouldnt' have been able to follow.
We do have a Hot Topic. Maybe I'll stop in next week. I go walking at the mall twice a week with some gals off my mom's site. Could be a good thing to look around for for next Christmas/birthday. I know.. it's early yet but if I don't buy all year long it won't happen! LOL
Good luck locating something! I can't believe WalMart hasn't gone there! Just give them time.. I'm sure eventually they will have T's and stuff too! I may have to buy the second book there though.
MZKTCHR- Walmart does sell the books...not anything else though. At least not yet. That is where I bought 3 of the books. The last one was sold out for a few weeks so I went and found it on ebay. Paid more than I would from walmart new and it was used but Oh well DD is worth it. There is a lot of twilight stuff on ebay but there too you don't know what is what. Thanks for the sites everyone...As soon as I get a chance to ask my sister if she has a store I can walk in a buy one I will check out the sites. I would rather do that if I can.
I have read all four books along with both of my daughters. Hot Topic is a great store to get Twilight merchandise. You can also order items online from the Forks, Washington Chamber of Commerce website.
I read the book ahead of my daughter as some of the books that are for teens right now I think are a little inappropriate, and we were fighting for the books. She would even stay up till 3am reading. The series was absolutely fantastic and clean. Way better than a couple of the other teen series that are out right now and so popular.
I borrowed Twilight from a relative just to see what it was all about. I decided my 13 yr old dd and I would read a few chapters together at night before bed so we could finish it at the same time. We got to about chapter 8 that way then she snuck off and finished it without me one weekend! I never expected she would like it that much as she is SO not a girly girl. Now she is hounding me to get the next book from somewhere. They really are quite addicting and I'm looking forward to getting the next one myself. I'm not ashamed to admit it!
I wasn't as impressed with the movie..we've seen it twice though! LOL I'm a purist when it comes to movies made from books and I like for them to stick with the timeline and plot.
As for a good place to buy Twilight I don't shop much for new but surely WalMart has gotten on that bandwagon?
Its great series, quite clean. My DD15 read them and I have as well. I think the location in Forks, Wa. is perfect and the movie (while it does not follow the books exactly) is a great compliment. Reading it at 51 makes me think how much teens must enjoy it! I would say its a "girl thing" however that depends on the teen, I have seen lots of boys and men at the show too :) I like the fact that its not smutty.
it is a series about a human teen girl who falls in love with a"teen" vampire and he has a family. they live in small town in oregon, i think. it is more a girl thing i think. there are werewolves too havent read second one yet but it is the rage for teen girls right now

My 13 year old daughter is a big fan. She has all the books but I wanted to buy her a t-shirt or hoodie for getting honor roll for her second term. Anyone have any idea where I could buy one? I've looked online but there are so many websites I don't know which to trust.
