My son is really concerned about his weight. He's 10 almost 11 and people have been telling him he's fat. He hasn't lost all of his baby fat and there's absolutely no problems with his weight! But he wants to "work out." He has been waking me up for my routine lately, wanting to go with me. So Friday and today I let him come to the fitness center with me. Now I WILL NOT let him use any of the weights or weight machines! But we took turns on the treadmill and the stationary bike. I've mentioned wanting to build up to jogging outside and he asked me about that this morning.
I want to make sure my kids are physically active and they learn the importance of exercise. Has anyone else done this? Any suggestions to make it work? I love having him with me but I feel like it's too restricting for him since I won't let him use the weights.

The question should be, is it worth trying to do, not can it be done.
