My first grader changed schools 6 days into it. She started at the public school, but hated it so we transferred her to a Catholic school so she could start the day after Labor Day. My Kindergartener is a "early entrant" she turns 5 on October 7th, which in Ohio is 7 days after the Kindergarten cut off date. We fought with the school district since she can already spell and write her name, knows colors, shapes, and patterns, and she even know some sight words. The public school was going to have her start after Labor Day but once we moved her sister she started at the new school too.

One day at a time, one step forward, one small change.

We moved to Meridian at the beginning of August, and Sian started school on the 11th. He loved his first day, and has really enjoyed this new school.

Poor kids been to three schools already though- we moved shortly after he started K and then had to move again this summer!

My sweet third grader started public school this year. I am a little concerned that he will lose the momentum he gained as the private school was about 1 year ahead. I got some extra material for him to work on at home though. Soccer starts this week on the up side! :)

We have been in school for 3 weeks now and it's been great! Lexi's (2nd grade) teacher is awesome and challenges her at every opportunity. School has never been a problem for us. I just fear when my 2 year old goes how she is going to act.

My 3 oldest kids started school on Sep.1st and it went without a hitch. I'm so grateful because last yr my soon to be 7 yr old didn't want to go to school and it was a strugle the first week last yr. This yr even tho he is repeating Kindergarten he is like mom you don't have to be with me before school bell rings I can just drop them off and come back home or do some shopping or run other errands

My three kids who are still at home started school this week. The older one is now in the 4th grade. They hit the ground running with a spelling list and reading homework and math! He loves his new teacher and has a good friend in his class. His best friend is in another class, but I view that as a good thing...they will both be forced to interact with others.
My twins started 1st this last week. They are in separate classes. Their teachers seem to be good matches for their individual personalities. They had an awesome first week as well.
The neighbor kid, who is like my own, is loving school and has made friends quickly. (he is new to the area)

Mine started school this week... my oldest is a sophomore at college & my youngest is in the 5th grade. Both have told me they really think they are going to have a gr8 year! My oldest is majoring in early childhood and started some of her teaching classes. And my youngest highlight's were: that they have such a large room, the teacher has made a walkin type closet into a restaurant. And she picks 4 of the best students of the day to have their lunch in her restaurant! LOL Imagine that!
Also they switch classes as well with there team class (this is to get them ready for middle school next year, I was told) and will be dissecting a frog! EWwwwwww!! LOL I wish school would have been that fun when I went there! LOL
Good luck all! I wish the best year for us all!

We've been back at school for 2 weeks but, it is so nice to have some new topics of discussion around the dinner table. I love hearing all the stories about what happened at school today. We usually end up laughing our heads off over something. I enjoyed my summer with them but, sometimes absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Well, Ashley started back to school (5th)today and everything seems to have gone very well~ aside from the fact that she found they will be disecting a frog this year! She actually has 2 teachers this year-they swtch after lunch. She didn't seem bothered by this in the least. Her homeroom teacher has a teranchela spider in the classroom and they all got to touch it if they wanted. Apparently, if you hold your fingertip towards her she will lift one leg and 'high five' you. Ashley was tickled by that! Now I have to do my 'homework' and fill out all the endless info. forms.:(

The kids don't have male teachers but Christopher has a male principal and I think that will do him good. There is a female one in elementary and I think she doesn't communicate with the kids enough.

So far so good. My oldest really likes both his teachers. My middle says he likes his teachers, but she's been difficult to communicate with. I don't pick my kids up from school so I've sent notes, which haven't gotten replies so I don't know if she received them or not. And papers that come home that I'm not sure if they're homework or just classwork that doesn't need to be finished like DS says. He's not the most reliable or organized kid (which I'm trying to correct), so I need him to have a teacher that IS. Hopefully it's just 'start of school chaos' and not a pre-cursor of things to come. He had a (dare I say it) really BAD kindergarten teacher which I think influenced his dislike of schoolwork and way he keeps his school stuff together. I finally got him in another class at the very end of that year, where the same teacher kept them for 1st grade also. She was great and really knew how to work with DS, so I hope he transitions okay to this new teacher.

Ashley doesn't start back until Monday, but she is sooooo looking forward to it! She stays so busy during the school year that it only takes a week or two before the boredom hits her hard. She goes to orientation tommorow evening to meet her 5th grade teacher. I'll have to let you know how Monday goes!

My kids started back on August 10th. My son, Skyler, thinks that 2nd grade is boring. I guess they are recapping what they learnt in 1st grade. My daughter, Parker, started Kindergarten and of course she thinks its boring and doesn't understand why she has to listen to the teacher!..."she's just telling me stuff I already know"... It hasn't been terrible but they both want something a little more challenging.

My kids started back last Thursday -so today is the one week mark. My daughter is in 5th grade and my son is in 2nd, in a 2-3 combo class. They both love school and luckily do very well, so the start of school has been a very happy occasion.

Well my kids got started back into school yesteday and it really went well for both of them. Christopher started off to middle school and swaping classes with 3 teachers this year and he really enjoyed it. Mikayla started off 3rd with a new teacher that I think will really benefit her and so I think so far all will go well this year. How about your kids?
