My daughters favorite movie is Nightmare Before Christmas and my sister made her a Jack/Sally costume last year. And since we are going to be in Disney World this Halloween, I am goinig to be Sally, the hubs is going to be Jack and our little one is going to be the mashup. We are excited.

I pledge to never see my highest weight on a scale EVER again

It's actually pretty simple. Either you do it, or you don't!

My 5 years old son has decided he wants to dress like Jason emoticon with the white mask and boots...

This is a learning journey... I am learning to eat healthy, to love exercise, but more important, I am learning to love myself.

The scarecrow would be easy: plaid shirt and straw, a hat and face paint. You could just get fake fur and make a main attach to a head band and do face paint. Your tail can be made out of material stuffed and pinned on... Yes very easy to make the two costumes. Post a picture of night with you all dressed up. Can't wait to see.

Love the owl for your little one on the way, I am sure your daughter will like her costume. Here we sell a lot of our items on Used... I got my daughter a butterflly for 10.00 half price and it will fit over her coat or she can wear it as the jacket.

My almost 3 year old has decided she wants to be Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Got it in a 3T-4T and tried it on her... lemme tell ya, those things run SMALL! It fits her now, but she definitely won't be able to get 2 years out of it like she did her last one. As for the soon to be, I found a cute owl sleep sack on Amazon that i think we'll be getting for her. Tough choice between the owl and giraffe, but I think the owl is mildly cuter, and because it's a sleep sack, she'll get plenty of use out of it.

I have a 1 year old and a 5 year old. My 5 year old has decided they will both be Minions this year from Despicable Me. We live in the midwest so a warmer costume is always a good idea. They will wear overalls with a yellow hooded sweatshirt and I will attach a few strands of black hair to the hood for hair. The 5 year old will have safety goggles to look like the minion's eyes. There are great inexpensive costume ideas on Pinterest or other sites like that. Happy costume hunting!

If she fits in 2T tops, and pants, I would at minimum get a 24 month if not find a 2T. My daughter is pretty tiny as well, She fits in 24 month pants, 2T's she needs to wear a belt with unless they're leggings. But when it comes to costumes she definitely wears a 2T. Especially the fairy costumes. Otherwise, you can make your own. Pale green tights, a pale green tee shirt in maybe a 4T so it fits like a dress and cinch the waist. You can probably find a set of fairy wings cheap (I know Dollar Tree in our area carries them all year round for kids in the toy aisle, and they are carrying even more now because they are set for Halloween already) Or if you want to be fancier, a pale green bodysuit or onesie and a sparkly green tutu. I know at least 4 people that sell them on facebook or Etsy, and I'm sure you probably have them available locally as well.

Anyone have ideas for a tinker bell costume? My daughter is tiny in the waist and chest. Don't know if I should buy one that is 12-18 months? She is long and fits 2 T tops and pants with the elastics in them. I have been thinking about halloween for a couple weeks now.

Is everyone making there costumes or buying?

My daughter is 2 and (nearly) 3/4. This is the first year she seems interested in picking a costume out for herself. Of course she also keeps changing her mind of what she wants to be. I might just raid my mom's closet where she has EVERY costume me or my brothers have ever worn.

Lisa: I can see how some of those decorations can take up some space. There's a lot of bulky stuff out there.

everyone, when did your little ones start choosing their own costumes? I brought up the costume idea to my 3 year old and she said she didn't want a costume lol

We have an apartment and we decorate the inside with spider webs and giant spiders, body parts, rats, and all sorts of stuff!! IIt's like a haunted house when you walk in!

I would start picking things up when they go on clearance. You can get the yard decorations for cheap then! As long as you have a place to store them!

I love Halloween too. I can't wait until we have our own house to decorate.

I'm wondering if I should start picking up decorations here and there to save for when I have a house... emoticon emoticon

I love Halloween but I haven't thought about costumes yet! Think we need to sit down and discuss this if we're going to go all out this year like my husband wants to! Halloween and Christmas are the two favorite holidays in our house! Decoration-wise, Halloween is all out!

Oh, also, I think we've decided that Xena is going to be Minnie Mouse, and the new baby is going to be an owl. I have a gangster girl/flapper costume I bought post season last year, the question is, will I be able to squeeze into it 3 weeks postpartum when I bought a size smaller than I wore last year? Wish me luck with that!

Those are easy ones. Xena wanted to be Princess Peach, and Rob wanted the new baby to be Toad, but the Princess Peach costume starts in a 4T and they don't make a Toad costume. Buy anyway, you can get them through all the costume stores (Party/Halloween City, and Spirit) and they're also available on EVERY costume website, and I've seen them all on Amazon as well. I also found a really sweet Yoshi mascot costume on Ebay, but it's $200 when you look into the shipping, and I have no idea where I'd store it if we did end up being able to afford it. ($38.99 plus $170 in shipping, and comes from Hong Kong so only God knows how long it would take to get to you. Last thing we ordered from China took about a month and a half to get through customs and that was just a silver coin)

Well, I don't think Xena is going to fit into her Spider costume anymore... but she got 2 years of use out of it so that's okay. Isis definitely won't be big enough for it yet, since she's due the first week of October and it's a size 12mos - 18mos. Hubby was thinking Princess Peach and Toad for the two of them, and now that I think about that more, it actually sounds like a valid option. Guess it's time to hit up the costume websites!
