The pink & grey teams are part of the biggest loser challenge. The challenge has been going on for awhile, so at this time you cannot join the challenge. Though I think there might be a link to compete against the biggest losers in their different weekly challenges. There are different challenges set up every so often within the parents of infants team & usually when a new challenge is getting started you will see a thread to sign up & most of the time an email is sent out letting everyone know about the challenge.

Also you can look under the support, motivation, & games part of the team page to see if there is a buddy support team set up that you might be interested in joining.

I am still figuring all of this out.. My 7 month old is having separation anxiety really bad so he keeps me pretty busy..

Hello everyone! I joined SparkPeople 3 days ago, and I can feel it making a difference in how I THINK about food. It really helps me to fill out my nutrition thread, and to get props for my exercise. Today after lunch, my one year old and I had mixed berries for dessert, instead of Mama having cookies and Baby having fruit! I am realizing that things like fruit or cereal are an excellent replacement for cookies. Hooray for Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter! I like to have that at night, instead of, well, cookies. ;-)

Yes, I plan on updating them. Sorry, I am a bit behind and trying to think of something. I think the next goal will be for the rest of August and part of September when I get it set up. I was just thinking about that tonight and trying to decide what kind of goals to add.

Hi Shanonmomof2, sorry for the delayed reply. I have not been very active on spark people lately. Not being a very good team leader. I need to try and be more consistent. Anyway, you can post a new topic under general discussion at anytime, if you did not already figure that out. There is not really a specific place right now for chatting. Hope this helps. There is somewhere on spark people to track calories, but I can't remember for sure where. I don't really pay that much attention to the calories I burn, though I should. I do know if you track your fitness minutes it also shows you the calories burned for your exercise. If you are running outside and need to know how many miles you are running you can use the interactive maps to figure out your distance. Then you put in the amount of time it took you to run and it calculates out your calories. Hope this helps. I will also try to find the other spot on spark people that talks about calories burned and get back with you.

I'm so excited about the challenge, can't wait to get started. Is there anything that i could get to make tracking my calories easier. I run outside not on a treadmill so tracking calories may be hard. any suggestions?

Hi gothhicgoddess, are you talking about the biggest loser challenge? The teams were assigned last week and you had to post your starting weight by last Saturday, so if you did not post your weignt last week on a team, then unfortanetly you are not on a biggest loser team.
However, if you are interested you can be on a buddy support team. I assigned those last week also, but I can add you to one of the buddy support teams if you are interested.

If you look to the right you will see the Team Stream. Under it, you will see View Huddle Wall/Huddle Now. This is a way to encourage others or to "check-in." Think of the Football Huddles you see on t.v. It is just a quick way to meet up with the team.
