Jonnie, you inspired me!!! I got rid of another two (big) boxes of stuff for the thrift store! I can do this! Good job with your suitcase. I always over pack my clothes but I hope you don't! I bet you will have a picture perfect suitcase. Take one if you want to share with us! :)

Thanks guys! She was in better spirits today as she had a good night's sleep and has started on some physical and occupational therapy learning to walk with a walker safely and write. There were no results yet from the test they did yesterday, so we still don't know what is causing her trouble.

I did get two loads of laundry done, and got DH started on making some pico de gallo with some of the tons of tomatoes that have been building up in the fridge and on the counter.

Today I organized and helped my girls to regroup from being at church camp last week. We've had the laundry cranking on "sanitize" loads all day and are getting close to being finished. Then they will just have to put all of their clean laundry away! While the washer has been running, I've been going through some LONG overdue papers/magazines/etc. that has collected on my kitchen counters. Hoping to have them cleared soon.

Oh Paula, I'm sorry to hear this about your mother. I''m so glad she has you. Just remember, you have to take care of yourself in order to take care of her. I've been where you are in the past, I know these are not easy days - quite the opposite. emoticon

I'm determined to get my bathroom floor organized today. The load of dirty laundry has been sitting there several days. Mother has been in the hospital since Thursday, and that's where I've been, too. When I get home in the evening, I'm too tired to do anything. It's all still up in the air as they have not determined what is wrong with her, and there should be some results from the latest test they did soon. Thought it was a possible stroke, but now they think cancer. Heading up there now. And absolutely will get that laundry done this evening.

I organized a shelf in my bathroom - you know, doing stuff like refolding all the towels, finding the washcloths that I was certain I had there (somewhere!), stacked up the tissue boxes. Nothing big, but a start is a start!!! Something per day is my goal!!

Jonnie -- We just got Aldi's here a few years ago. I get the idea that ours is not as big as some, but its fun to go and see what they've got.

Christine -- Too bad the drawers can't stay perfectly organized....LOL.

Not much organization here today -- but I've got to go in and check the fridge and make a shopping list for tomorrow. Younger son is coming in tomorrow afternoon for a quick two day visit and we'll be getting together with family for a meal together.

trying to "organize" all the tomatoes we've got on the counter and figure out what to do with them. I'm going to put the ripest in flats in the outdoor fridge, even though they do taste better at room temp.

Amazing what can turn up in a junk drawer! emoticon

I made an impulse buy at Aldi's this week -- a pineapple cutter. My son has one and swears by it -- it works great with the "personal" size pineapples. You cut the top off, then position the cutter and turn the knob and it cores it and makes perfect spiral cut slices all the way down. BUT....now where am I going to store it? Will have to do some organizing in the pantry.

Sure is nice to be able to find things when you need too.

Camper is all swept out, rug shook and ready to wash, and I got my walk in before it got so beastly hot. Should be in the 100's today. I also have all the bedding up and ready to be washed too. Don had a boil over on the stove top so that will need attention too. Oh well we brought it brand new and I have to try to keep it as nice as possible.

We are leaving for Three Island State Park (my favorite) on DH's birthday the 3rd and be back on the 7th. So I am excited about that.

Sure! It's spread out on the upstairs bed now. It won't be very big, but at least it will be finished. It was kind of peaceful...I turned on the upstairs A/C, put a library CD book on the player and spent some time joining squares. DH has some kind of winter cold with fever, so he had the downstairs to himself.

Organized my box of granny squares from the attic upstairs. I've determined that I'm finally going to sew them together. I've only been working on this since the late 70's -- no lie. It will give me a great sense of satisfaction to complete that project.

Paula funny you should bring up cutting boards because I thought the one in the camper was so small and I finally found a bigger one to bring with us. I bet your DH thought you were nuts to take his beloved old one away! LOL Yay on a new (free) microwave!

Had to get a new microwave. Our old one from 2005 has been making strange noises. Finally got so bad we decided it was possibly dangerous to use. Love those Best Buy gift cards we get for using our credit cards. Didn't have to actually lay out the cash.

Anyway....the new one is bigger. It's a counter top one, like the old one, but it goes in a cabinet that the doors open to. I kept cutting boards and other odds and ends to the sides and on top of the old one. Had to thoroughly go through that stuff and make a donation pile. How did we ever get so many cutting boards? Of course, today when DH was cutting cukes to make pickles, he noticed that I had relegated his favorite cutting board to the donation pile. Had to go out to the garage and bring it back in.

Organizing the floor of my closet one more time. I need to donate some swimsuits. The pool at the Y used to be heavily chlorinated and would ruin a suit in about 2 months of use. So...I'd buy several at the end of the season sales. Then I found out about how long polyester suits last and didn't end up using the regular lycra ones. I have several that are hardly used that someone would enjoy having.

I go the pocket organizer hung up with DH's help and I was working on other parts of the camper.

I was also working on a picnic basket today. Went to home depot and got some white pickling paint so I can paint the outside and the inside has a waterproof red check fabric.

Then the fun part... I get to fill it and go on a picnic!

I have been organizing our camper. I made a fabric pocket organizer for the bathroom so I don't have my stuff all over the place.

I unpacked and put away - some jewellery, a few hair products, clothes. I emptied a vertical closet organizer and put away the contents. Tried on some new sandals and discovered they hurt my toe, so I will immediately give them away. My closet, bathroom and bedroom look great!

Our guest room. We went through the closet which had some clothes that were too small, but I was holding out hope. Got them all ready for donations. Went through and purged extra bedding that we keep in there. We kept one backup set and got rid of all of the extras. We also went through our luggage which we also keep in that closet and got rid of any that wasn't in good condition.

I went through my hope chest and got rid of some items that no longer needed to remain. I then spent some time with my daughter in her room going through her one dresser. We emptied it and refolded and organized the clothing. Tomorrow is her second dresser.

JAZZEJR, Wow that's sounds awesome! I am also away from home right now too!

My name CHRISTINEBWD is because the BWD stands for bird watching dreamer. So that said I got 19 different birds on my daily bird list today!

So exciting because that is not counting the four little red-tailed hawks in the nest waiting today to be fed by one their parents! Awesome!!!

Thanks and can't wait for the pics!

CHRISTINEBWD, you asked where we put our active wear. I forget where I saw this organizing tip but It works great for me. You know those nice, really large, 99-cent colorful bags sold at T J Maxx and Marshalls? I bought 4 of the same design in colors that go well in my bedroom and use them to hold & organize the stuff on the upper shelf of my bedroom closet. I have my long active-wear bottoms in one, tops & jog-bras in another--as well as purses in another, etc., etc. In another closet, I have sweaters by color in bags that match the decor of that bedroom. It looks great and I know where everything is. I'm away from home right now, but after the weekend when I return, I'll take a photo and attach it here.

I ended up working all day on the pantry. Looks SO much better! Moved the toaster oven out to the garage closet room where we keep the freezer. Offered it to my son, and he might pick it up in a week or so when he visits.

BIL is coming Wednesday of this coming week, so I've got to get the upstairs looking good before then, and "BIL-proof" it....LOL. He's a little eccentric. Got to move the pretty table lamp out of his room and put the sewing full power light in so he can read his books. Last time he was here he didn't think the table lamp was high enough off the bedside table, so he had it balanced precariously on top of an overturned decorative vase. I nearly had a fit when I saw that. He drives me crazy sometimes. emoticon He's also the one who hangs his wet bath towel on a coathanger in the closet. So I've got to make sure there is plenty of room in there and the wet towel won't be rubbing up against any of my out of season clothing. We have plenty of towel rods in the upstairs bathroom, so can't quite figure out his reasoning on hanging his towel in the closet. Yes...a bit eccentric.

This morning I'm gearing up to tackle the pantry. It has gotten out of hand again. We have way too many glass jars, and many items are out of place. We're also storing big bags of dog and cat food plus their treats. Company is coming in a week, so it will be nice to have that done before they get here.

I've been re-covering my 8 dinning room chairs, the last three weeks. My dinning room was a total mess, with sewing stuff. I also had my bread machine working making my hubby 6 loafs of bread. Finally finished it all and all that clutter went into its proper places. It look like a beautiful clean kitchen and dinning room again.

I told my girls Goodnight one night, and all but one was gone by the next morning !

I've gone through different places where I keep my active wear. I'm considering active wear to be my gym clothing. The pants (mainly yoga style capris and a few longer pairs) go in one drawer, and drawer above them are my t-shirts. I have one small drawer devoted to the footies I wear with my workout shoes. The bras hang by the straps on several hooks in my closet. I have a few hoodie style jackets that hang in with my other coats in the hall closet.

Taking the discussion a step further -- several years back I started noticing that some of my workout shirts and bras when I started sweating in them would come out with the aroma of hundreds of past workouts..... emoticon I always wash my bras and t-shirts after working out, so I couldn't quite understand why washing them was not working. They would smell just fine when I put them on clean from the drawer, but at the first sweat....there came that odor. I started buying Simple Green in a spray bottle, and just before throwing in the machine, I would spray the shirts in the underarm area with the simple green. I used the same amount of laundry detergent as usual. The bras I would also spray on the chest and underarm areas. It really seems to help. Also recently started washing my polyester workout bras in with the towel and wash cloth bleach load....that REALLY does the job, but wouldn't think of throwing my nice workout tops or pants in with the bleach.

I am working on my clothes closet. I know that I have too many "favorites" but I am working on it!

I have a question for anyone who chooses to answer. Where do you keep your active wear?

I think I need to change to putting things in a drawer but right now everything is hanging on hangers, or on pants clips which are also hung up.

We'd love to have you check in here!

Yesterday I got DH involved and we spent quite a bit of time on our den area (where the dogs are allowed in and sleep on their beds at night). I was noticing a distinct musty odor. Found a recipe online for homemade fabric freshener. 2 cups warm water with 1 Tbsp baking soda dissolved in and then 9 drops essential oil. I used eucalyptus. We took the area rug out to the back porch and sprayed it with this and let it air out in the sun before vacuuming and bringing back inside. Also washed the covers to both dog beds and dusted blinds and behind and under the sofas. Finished up by mopping. Really made a difference.

From Friday (by which time I hope to be fully well again) I'm going to start doing 5 hours cleaning (starting upstairs) on Fridays and 5 hours (starting downstairs) on Mondays, and would like to check in here if that's ok with you all? I'm hoping to get my cleaning schedule organised so that everything gets done regularly. Plus there are a lot of other things that need sorting - I'm calling them projects - and I'll be doing those on Thursdays.

Today I organized a great chunk out of the pile of files I created over the past semester. I do lots of pre-classroom studying before I feel easy about taking a lesson to my students, and piles just seem to happen during that stage of my coursework. Like dishes that are used and washed and used again, piles of files are my never ending story.

Had a little time this morning while putting on makeup....organized my vanity top one more time. Took several things off the top I wasn't using and did a thorough cleaning. Looks so much better.

DH had a tiny little plastic office supplies container (for staples, rubber bands, etc) with 4 drawers. The multiple bandaid boxes in the medicine cabinet were getting out of hand, so I organized them in the office supplies container. Bottom drawer for the "dot" and knuckle and fingertip bandaids. Next drawer was for the waterproof ones I use for swimming. Next drawer was for the regular standard size we use most of the time, then top was for the larger patches. There were a couple indentations on the top I stuck odd ones like the little tiny ones.

Yesterday I tidied up my craft area. Things tend to get piled up on the table over there, especially in winter when we've pulled the potted plants into the room.

I'm organizing pots and pans. In the process, hoping to find a small favorite I mainly use in the winter.

10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond [nor] free: but Christ [is] all, and in all.

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Good job on working on the finances! That is a big job!

I haven't been working on any organization right now. I am still working on my spring outfits.
