I think staying away from the scale for a while could end up being a good idea... you'll definitely be able to tell if you're slimming down based on how your clothes feel!

It sounds like you are making lots of healthy choices! If you want to know what I eat, you can go to my spark page and take a look at my nutrition tracker, I've logged my foods for the last several days. I don't vary a whole lot as once I find something I like I stick to it. :) Not sure if this is the best method out there but it has worked for me. You'll find what works for you, too. Everyone is a little bit different, it's best to mix and match and try different things until you're eating food that you enjoy and also helps you lose the weight.

i will look into the protein issue - i honestly hadn't considered. i am going to stay off the scale until my one month of the slim down challenge is done. i am going to use my pants as the judge of how well this is going. i was sure that i had lost weight and i hopped on the scale and it was exactly the same!!

what is an example of your daily diet? do u drink protein shakes?
this is what i eat almost every day:
oatmeal w/ 1/2 tsp br sugar and handful of raisins
dannon light n fit w/ 1/2 C kashi go lean
1/4 C plain almonds
one serving of fruit - usually an apple, sometimes fresh fruit salad
low carb wrap w/ hummus, black beans, salsa and 2 slices of turkey
dinner could be anything consisting of a protein and veggie - no potato or rice.
6-8 glasses of water and 2 cups of coffee (cream and splenda) mixed in there too.

maybe i was wrong about my carb intake? i tried atkins in feb and hated it. i lasted 2 months so i am still under the mindset to stay away from as much bread potatoes and rice as possible. i do like oatmeal and kashi tho...

Hi Sarah,

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrations! I've been there, and it's so tough knowing that you are working hard and not seeing any results. Are you eating enough protein? I actually went to a nutritionist who took a look at my diet and said I was eating everything right - except I wasn't eating enough protein. I added quite a bit of protein to my diet and the pounds started coming off. I basically aim for 20g+ of protein with each meal, and then 2-3 snacks a day with an additional ~8g of protein. Given that you are also working out a lot, this may be helpful for you.

As far as my own results - I've lost almost 60 lbs. with the help of Jillian + cleaning up my diet. It's taken a long time to get it off, but that includes a period of several months where I lost focus and gained some weight back. Out of all her workouts, I had the most success with Ripped in 30. :)

Hi Sarah! I just had my first "successful" weigh in today. I've been doing the shred and eating within my calorie ranges for three weeks now. Here is how my scale story went:

4/25 - 135 (starting weight)
5/2 - 135.5
5/9 - 136
5/16 - 132.5

As you can see, the first two weeks were pretty disappointing and had I listened to the scale back then and given up, I would not be seeing this drop today. I'm sure the weight will continue to go up and down but I know that if I stay consistent (even if that damn scale can't) that I should continue to see results in the long run.

Stay Strong! emoticon

i am on day 5 of the slim down challenge, but have been working out consistantly for many weeks now. my diet is great - all clean food, no junk no soda, nothing bad, limited carb intake, tons of veggies and fruit and 80 ounces of water a day. no medication, no hormonal birth control. AND NO RESULTS. my scale does not budge. i will continue the slim down challenge but i would love to hear some inspirational stories/ results just for motivation. i dont think there is anything wrong with my diet. it hovers around 1500 cal a day and i am exercising 6 days a week. and i am def not "phoning it in"... any guidance or tips would be really great. and yes, my jeans feel a little better. i can feel the start of some muscles forming. i really want to see the number on the scale drop tho... and my love handles go away. and my thighs to slim down... ugh! emoticon
