Got a bit of a problem. I love to drink milk every once in a while, but I don't. Every time I drink milk I end up waking up all during the night with really bad leg cramps. I can eat other milk base products, like cheese, ice cream, yogurt, I can even use a little milk in my cereal. But as soon as I drink a glass, the leg cramps start. Has anyone had this problem. Can you suggest anything I can do to make sure I get my needed calcium. Do you know of something in the milk that may be causing this, and is there a substitute milk I could drink. Am I destined to go without milk.

I am mainly on my presurgical diet now until surgery will be on it 100% starting Friday and then it is only 2 weeks away until I get my sleeve!

I am trying to get all my ducks in a row so I can be totally ready-- so much to do before then!

Tracy, when my mom was going through chemo and medication she started retaining water and, just like you said, it affected her breathing too. It affected everything! Glad you were able tot ake some extra water pills and flush some of it out. Hope you continue to feel better and better!

I went home and drank more water and took my water pills.. man I thought I would never stop peeing~! I do feel better-- my breathing is better too... when I get too swollen it affects my breathing!

Hope you got your workout in, Dory!

I've read in at least three places over the last week that you should write down your workouts in your appointment book and then keep them like you would any other appoiintment. I'm trying that this week. So far, it's working.

I'm on Spirng Break this week, so I have more time to get everything in order, and plan everything out. On one hand it's easier because I have more time. On the other hand, I'm completely off my routine and that has it's own set of challenges. But today was great and I'm determined to make the rest of the week fabulous too!

I am definitely healthier in general. I think I was shocked because I had gone on a trip for 5 days and really thought I had lost weight. I guess before that , I was eating too much and must have gained. At home those chocolate chip cookies need to go. Chris

GOAL: Reduce A1C,BP,tryglicerides,and weight. HOW? By not eating added sugar, using Omega3s, base meals on veggies, water aerobics at least 3X week and using NuStep when I can't get to the pool.

Doc weigh ins are a must but I don't use their results. I have my own scale and I only use those results to measure by. Every scale is different and will usually give you different results. My doc as well as my SP supporters have told me not to measure success by a scale. You may be losing fat and gaining muscle, which weighs more. I have started to measure my success by my energy level, which has increased. I'm feeling so much better.

Sue, I have my doubts about your nutritionist. Except for people who actually have gluten issues, or a diagnosed metabolism problem, that kind of restriction is not really necessary. I would think about getting a second opinion. "Slow metabolism" is frequently baloney.

Hi All!

I am so frustrated tonight. I went to see the nutritionist and she said I gained 1 1/2 lbs. This can't be. There is a 5 lb. difference between her scale and mine.

She has me on a high protein meal plan because I have a slow metabolism. I haven't had potatoes, bread, pasta....any of the good stuff in a long time. I eat a lot of green leafy lettuce and mushrooms.

It is really discouraging. I thought I was doing a good, but it just won't show on the scale.
How does other people lose weight and keep it off? My body just doesn't want to let go....

Glad to see everyone doing well. Sharon, That is good plan. Yesterday, I didn't feel well at all. I started my tom which is a hard time for me anyway. I ended up getting a good nights sleep which is positive. However, I didn't consume 350 calories all day. Thank God, I am feeling a little bit better today. I have my TOPS meeting tonight. I am not sure if I will stay for the whole thing or just weigh in. It truly depends on how I feel at that time. Right now, I am just focused on getting three square meals in me, and hopefully a small workout.

Hi all!!

I am frustrated today. I seem to keep losing and gaining back the same 3-5 lbs. I know why I did this week as I had pizza & way too many alcoholic beverages. This is my cycle.. really good for a week or so and then blah...

I've been in a GRRRR mode for a week or so. My fuse feels really short and I dont have MP so I dont know if it's PMS or not. Please tell me you guys experience this too!!

Can relate some. Three years doc said they found a tumor in stomach. At that time I weighed 450 lbs. when I went in for surgery. The tumor they removed weighed 40 lbs. A year later I had manged to lose to 325. There I seemed to be stuck. Then I lost my mother 12/27/2010 and became extremely depressed and started gaining again. I got up to 380 in less than four months. Then started yo-yo weight, up and down. Everything I started within two weeks I quit. Then last month I was told about SP. I weighed in at 342 on 2/29/12 and have lost 14 lbs since then. I will keep you in my prayers and I know you can do it. emoticon

Hi! I'm Team 300 lbs Plus. Actually started off at 365 and then two weeks ago I weighed in at 358. I weigh in at the doctors in two days. I can't wait to see what's going to happen. I am a cancer survivor. I was told last week the tumor was benign. Yea! That means I am cancer-free. I feel like I can do anything now. I just started walking a week ago for the first time since being post-treatments. I feel good. Sweat feels good. Looking forward in sharing my journey with you.

Hey all! I'm Dory, I joined this team awhile back but I haven't been very active and I'm looking to change that. I've been working hard on changing my life style but I haven't lost any weight yet. I know in time it will come. I just cant give up or give in, if I do I know I will be giving up on myself and I cant do that again. I'm looking for support and I want to support my team members.

I did spring clean and rearrange my house so I got in my execrise and healthy food, water intake on yesterday...thank the Lord for Jesus

There is nothing that I can't accomplish when I put my heart and mind to it, now that I have gotten back on track I will continue one day at a time to loose, to get healthy and stay healthy. This my goal for the rest of 2014-UNTIL

Im Karen and Im so glad to see this SparkTeam. I joined SP 2/29/12 and I have lost 14 lbs. This is the longest I have stuck with any program. I can literally say Im enjoying myself with SP. No pressure, just motivation and support.
I have learned so much in the few weeks I have been on here, and have been able to make changes without making myself feel deprived. Im looking forward to my continued success, and motivating others to succeed as well.
