In a review of 30 toasters in the current issue of Consumer Reports, is this amusing paragraph:
"Now let's talk about the losers. Gordon Ramsay, the foul-mouthed British restaurateur who has made a name eviscerating guests on shows like Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, is getting in on the merchandising game. But one of his first products, the Gordon Ramsay Everyday 16117 (Kmart) two-slice toaster, was, as he might put it, pretty #@%$ing awful in our tests. Indeed, its overall score of 31 is the lowest in our Ratings."
Pretty harsh words. Ouch!!
And, not to leave you in suspense, CR rated two Cuisinart toasters at the top of the ratings although CR suggested that unless you make toast everyday, those toasters are probably unjustifiable and it would make sense to buy the less expensive Hamilton Beach which performs nearly as well for less than half the price at $35.
