I got a Wii yesterday! WooHoo! It is as much fun as everyone had said! I am so glad we got it. I just got the basic console with Sports & Sports Resort. Then, I added Wii play for some more games & a second controller. We also got a Mario Brothers game. We spent 3 hours playing it when we got home!
I plan on adding the Fitness Plus in a few weeks. The sales associate said they would be getting in package deals with the balance board, game, etc. that would be cheaper. So, I figured, why not wait a few weeks and save the money. Plus, it will give me time to just get used it.
I think we will be adding lots of little accessories to it all the time! There is so much out there for the Wii and it all looks like fun!
Jenlar3 - That's a great idea. I have an account w/ a local video rental store already, which keeps credit on it b/c I do work for the company! I'll see if they have any wii games.
Chooseoff - Sounds like you are doing great! I look forward to doing a lot more stretching & strength training w/ the help of my wii
Rainessa - Thanks for letting me know. I did some research on it, but I went with Wii still in the end! The PS3 w/ the motion sensors doesn't play PS2 games and it was $200 more. The Wii just seemed more ready now & I don't want to lose my momentum. That has been a downfall of me in the past. If I tell myself I'll wait for this or that.....I end up stopping and never reaching my goal.
Thanks everyone for your help and advise. You have been great!
Hi Elizmdyer,I use my Wii at least 5 days a week because I can keep up with it. I am 68 years old and I love the boxing, Hola Hoop, Anvance Step, Yoga, and the Strengthening games. They help me overall (daily) to keep movingin my body and all of my digits.
You may want to wait another month or two and do product comparisons among the wii, xbox360, and playstation3. While the wii had the market on workout games, xbox is coming out with its kinetic thing and playstation3 with its move thing. Both are accessories that allow for controlling games without an actual remote/controller. Because of this, both systems will also be coming out with workout games to get a piece of that market. Currently, I know that EA Sports Active 2 will be coming out on all 3 systems.
I will probably be switching my workout games from the wii to one of the other 2 because it is easier with them to download new content for games that you have. And I like the idea of being free from the remotes/controllers while exercising.
Hey everyone! I have been saving my $$$ to buy a Wii. I like the idea of having fun with my kids and getting in a workout at the same time. I have 6 kids and I would like for 2-4 of us to be able to play at the same time.
If you could tell me why you choice the games you did & what works with what, I would be most delighted! I don't want to buy a lot of things only to find they don't work together. Thanks in advance for any advice you have to give!
