Make your Wii Fit Balance Board work for you.


Choosing the Wii Fit Balance Board is also choosing to be, in some ways, a Home Fitness type. Not everyone is as natural to it as others, especially when space is at a premium. So, here are a few tips for making home fitness a success!

You might want to print this and hang it up! I also made a fitness notebook in which to keep this plan and my favorite momentos, and to organize my workouts and new ideas.

Wii Fit and My Fitness Coach both have great VIRTUAL motivational leaders included, but I like Sparkpeople best of all. It simply doesn't work for me without you guys.

3. Organize your workout time and space

You could write a visualization to help you get in the mood for a successful workout. It could be a workout script that you mentally rehearse several times per day. Here is a super article about getting psyched up for a workout -

Mine goes like this:

"I'm in the HALTs (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired-Bored) and I don't know why.....I put on my workout music (Here's a great list of motivational tunes:
while dressing for my workout and taking out my Wii Fit Balance Board and trampoline.......And I start with my running first to get warmed up. Once I'm started, the rest of it is a piece of cake." The no-calorie kind.

A little bit of positive self-talk can go a long way. I've had enough of the "I'm so fat" talk that I made it a point to give the other side a fair chance with my thoughts and emotions.
If posible, trying to train at the same time and place as often as possible gives a sense of transforming your space into a fitness studio. I bought a mirror and even a colored light to put me in the mood. And have you every tried aromatherapy? My favorite is Seaside room spray.
Do what works for you!!! And remember, put your board away safely afterwards.

Get Away From Your Board!

Train for a race, or have as a goal getting out of the solo routine and joining others, either at a gym, or in a fitness class or dancing, or whatever fitness means for you WITHOUT the Wii Fit. That's success for me, and I hope that you have lots of fun in your new fitness life.
