Hi, everyone! I am sort of newly into doing Joyce's workouts again because I recently found a lot of her older books on iBooks and realized how burned out I was with my regular weight lifting practice in recent years. I have always enjoyed Joyce, although not so much her DVDs as they move too fast for me and I am a fast lifter lol.

I am kind of doing a Joyce thing for a few months from the books.

Anyone posting on here lately.

I am 15 pounds away from my initial goal weight of 150, from there I will focus solely on body fat percentage until I get to about 25% body fat. I also am back to the Definition workout (I love that workout. It's a cardio workout AND a strength training workout. Two in one.)

After 2 months in the gym, I have found nothing like Joyce Vedral's workouts. I've gone backwards, I can no longer do her shoulder presses with 20 pound dumbbells even though I do the shoulder press machine in the gym with 20 pounds. Go figure.

I have learned that the key is to switch up your routine now and then. Joyce even says as much in one of her books or videos. She suggests over time that we add different workouts, which is why I joined the gym. However, I still do her workouts, I love her workouts... So I alternate between her workouts and the gym. :-)

I have just started doing my Joyce workouts again. My goal is to do the 12 Minute Workout everyday in August, Just Abs 6 times per week and walk 1 mile per day. So far I have been able to keep this schedule.

I now run on the days I do my full body strength training. So I begin my day by running then I do my workout. It is very intense, but I am absolutely loving it. How is everyone else doing?

Hi Tricia_V,

I started my workout program in the dead of winter, the first week of January, so yeah, I'd have to agree with you that spring is better. I just turned 42 (we're almost the same age) and I used to do the 12 minute workout. I loved it. I'm now doing the Definition workout, and it's pretty intense, but I love it too.

Hi folks! Spring is such a better time to start a program than winter. I turn 40 in June and am doing the 12 minute workout daily for a week now.

Sure, you may join at any time. This month's goals is just to keep track of your exercise time, when we track it, it authomatically tracks it in the team goal for the month. I am so glad you can do it. Remember baby steps. When a baby starts walking, it is not a race, just little by little, sometimes he may fall down, but gets back into his feet and try again until he is able to walk. Good Luck!!

Hi Yolita and buddies,

Are we continuing with these challenges into July? Or have they been revised? I know we are already half way through July, I am joining late. They are really great goals! Thanks Yolita for posting them and motivating us.

If its ok I would like to post the goals in my blog?

I have to report that I did well this past week. I have been using the Interval Aerobics (first part) with every Strenght training routine, and other cardio videos on a couple of days. I hope that this will really work for me, eventhoug yesterday and today I eat beyond my calorie range. Its my daughter's Bday and we had a family dinner and between talk and food I had too much bacon and cheese
emoticon But I am intending to do the 10 day emergency diet about June 24. I will give my report by July 4!!!!! emoticon emoticon

ok, I did it. I was able to keep up with both of the challenges I set for myself for this past week. I am going to continue the Joyce workout and the Leslie workout for this week also. I am down 17 lbs total since 4/19/08, and I can tell a difference in my waist and legs just from the Joyce workouts this week. I hope everyone else is doing really well too.

This Monday I start one of Joyce' routines, you are supposed to drop 2 sizes for July 4.
Knockout 12, we are in this together. I hope that the June challenge from LS and JV are not too much for you. But whatever your time is, I assure you JV will fulfill your expectations. I blindly trust JV. her system REALLY WORKS!!. Good Luck to you and of course, I am exercising my faith and prayers too!!!

I am doing the Leslie Sansone June Challenge. Leslie is the happy "walking in place" lady. I was thinking of adding a Joyce Vedral workout I recvd thru Joyce's newsletter some time ago to the June challenge. The workout consists of...

Weight Training Made Easier, day 1
Weight Training Made Easier, day 2
Fast Forward, Cycle 1 & 2
Fast Forward, Cycle 3 & extra abs
Bottoms Up Gold, Upper body & Abs
Bottoms Up Gold, Lower body.

In 12 weeks you're supposed to be able to drop 3-4 sizes, as long as you eat sensible meals.

I am going to try this for a week and see if I can handle it. I do my walk workouts in the early mornings before anyone gets up. I think I could work the weight workouts into my evenings, with just a little cooperation from my children. Wish me a little luck and a lot of prayers!

Here are the challenges/goals for this month of June:

If you have been reading a little bit here at SparkPeople, you have realized already how important is to be accountable, and that people who stay connected have more chances of success. For June you are encouraged to:

1. Track your water, fruit and veggies intake.
Water is an essential part of weight loss. Weight loss occurs much more efficiently in a well hydrated environment and also helps to flush out toxins and keep you hydrated, especially if you work out regularly. So it's IMPORTANT to get enough water. Your goal is to drink at least 8 cups of water daily.

2. Track your working out time.

3. Blog once a week to keep everyone updated about your efforts in this journey.

To keep track of your water, fruit and vegetable intake you may go to the upper left hand of your screen where it says My tools, then go to start and then you can track your nutrition and your fitness.
to write your blog, just go to your page and you will find your way to write your blog. If you need any help please, let me know. Good Luck with your goals, and keep going!!!
