HI.all. Got in four good runs during the 2 weeks I was visiting my parents. I hadn't run in a month nor had I run hills, except a bridge. In about a year. So, two runs a week plus all the gardening were enough:)
Nera, sorry about your FIL.

Happy July all and Happy Canada Day to our Canadian rooks

He is spending all his time working on his dad's old laptop. It is an Apple and at first he said he didn't like it. But now he is constantly on it. I guess we all work through things in our own way.

Hey all,
Missy finished her math 10 provincial final today. She is in grade 9, so it is a pretty cool thing. She thinks she did very well:)

Nera, I'm sorry for your loss, hope your hubs manages to let things out.

Thursday we head down to the coast for another baseball tourney. Should be a fun time:-)

Hugs and love,
Trish

Hi team. Ran yesterday for the. First time in a month. It was good, slow, but good. And hilly. I am really glad that I run the bridges in Florida so the hills were not so bad. Phew. Today, weeded one of Mom's flower beds. Used (and broke) the weed-whacker. Tomorrow, more of the same but a short run in the morning.
Have fun, rokks

Hey all,
Sorry so silent this weekend. Was in Kamloops on a bball tourney. Father's Day is always a tough time, but we made it through. I really miss Don!

Missy's grade 9 grad is on Thursday, and my Dad and Susan are coming to visit. My Mom is also coming, which could be interesting for sure.

This weekend Josh either plays a double header for bball, or a beach volleyball tourney.

Me, meh, I am overrated...LOL!! still waiting to see if I have a stress fracture of my foot.

Hugs!
Trish

I think it is becoming more of a thing. My small DME company just realized they needed to deal with ex-employees access to various websites that had patient information. Some one disgruntled enough could do a lot of mischief in a short period of time.

Been an interesting week around here... (Can I have a less interesting week now?)

Found out that my private car insurance does not cover doing deliveries for money, so what I was doing for a job, is not covered under my car insurance and I know the company I was delivering for doesn't cover it either, so no more driving for them for me.

Looking for another job, for now, close to home, daytime during the week hours mostly and I guess a somewhat dead-end job. I want something now, while I still try and find something better. I guess I thought by my age, I would not be working dead end jobs.

Hubby, works as an IT consultant, and he had to look at all the downloads of recently let go employees to make sure no one was downloading company data to take with them. Said more physical security was on campus too, as these people were being told they were being let go. Do we live in a society where we don't trust our employees that much? Is that something most IT companies do now adays, when they let a fair amount of people go? Or more of a Silicon Valley thing?

Went to my daughter's gym class again this morning. OMG, talk about a workout! It is circuit training but it's tough. Today, burpees, running stairs, chest flys while in a bridge position, planks, then more planks with picking up a weight. More squats that I could count......the good news is I was able to complete all the circuits:). My shoulders are sore but not painful. Phew.
Now, at my parents house for two weeks.

Got the NH this morning, two hours late. The original plane I was on had a landing gear issue. They would not retract into their storage area so we had to turn around and land then switch planes. Not a problem, better safe than sorry. Got to NH and my DD's car broke down in the parking lot. Her car isn't that old, 3, but has had lots of transmission issues. Had a tow and a service loaner. Got to DDs house, had a nap (I was up at 3am) then went to her exercise class with her. It was good, tough but good:)
Happy Friday all

I am sorry that your husband's family is making him crazy. Most of my husband's family is like that. I talk to his Mother/Grandmother everyday and she is wonderful, but the rest of them are very crazy and lazy. I wish you both the best of luck.

It is tough when families seemingly don't get along or share information. One of my cousins found out that our aunt had died last year just last week when I was talking about her. Sheesh.. His parents knew as my Mom and told them!
Anyway, I am off to bed as I am getting up around 3am to drive to the airport for an early morning flight.
Happy running Rooks

Trish I hope you get approved to do some running. I know how much you enjoy it.

Life here is about to get very chaotic. My FIL went in to hospice over the weekend. Per my SIL it seems the end is pretty close. Hubby is doing okay but his family is driving him nuts. Their lack of communication skills are really coming in to play. No one seems to know anything or if they do they don't pass the information on.. After he passes away I don't know how they are going to get anything done.

Had a goodish workout with my trainer today...apparently my 5 hours of yard work put some strain on my muscles...LOL, well, we got it done after a LOT of modifications:-)

Tomorrow I do leg day with my trainer, and will find out if my doc will let me do some running. Wish me luck!!

Doris, hope the steroid helps you!!

Hugs,
Trish

HI team. It seems like a while since I last posted. I finally caved and went to the doctor yesterday, having trouble getting rid of a cough. She put me on a steroid and a stronger cough suppressant. So far, no change. But maybe tomorrow will be the day. In the las month I have run twice. Yep, twice. I am heading to NH for two weeks on Thursday. I am hoping to get back running while there as it is MUCH cooler than south Florida has been. Running outside now means leaving before 6AM or after 7PM. Not really an issue, except for this cough. Sheesh.
It is nice to see that Rooks are out there running, racing and just getting stuff done. I hope to join you soon:)

We've not had the extreme heat that some of you have been experiencing - it's perfect running weather here really - the sun is warm, the breeze is still quite fresh. It is wonderful to have the light mornings and be up and out early when it's quiet. I am also enjoying all the greenery and wild-flowers adorning the hedges at the moment - it's paradise!

Hi gang! Yes, Nera, exercise-related urgency is a thing. When you exercise, your kidneys filter more blood which causes you to produce more urine which your body may want to excrete in a timely manner. What's the solution? Good question. I presume the physio is working toward building your 'carrying capacity'? That might help. I'm not sure. My issue is that running gives me stomach cramps and I need to look for bathrooms for other reasons. sigh.

I do sometimes have to cut walks due to bathroom visits and believe me, I know where the bathrooms are when I am out and about.

Mine though, tends to be. I wind up stuck in a bathroom sometimes doing more than peeing after I do my run walk intervals.

I was at a graduation open house last night. Didn't get to bed until midnight so imagine how happy I was when I woke up at 7am and could not get back to sleep.

Also I know there is exercise induced asthma but is there such a thing as exercise induced bathroom need? Seems lately every time I go for a a walk or something it gets cut short because I have to race home to the bathroom. So weird my body never use to do that.

I ran 1.5 miles this morning and just took my personal trainer on his 1.5 mile walk. I still need to find a place where I can run for a longer period of time, but I only have so much time in the morning as I do not live close to work. Oh well, this obstacle can be overcome as well.

Got in a great 3 mile run this morning. It was cool and a little breezy - it was a nice change from the hot, humid weather.

Have a great day!

Hey all,
Had another good workout today...no running, but my feet are NOT happy right now, so rest for them is a good thing. Over an hour of ST core and back, then 30 min's of recumbent bike. Tomorrow will be another hour ST with my trainer, followed up by a end of the year band concert chaser (monkey is playing saxophone).

Awesome Kechara!!! You did it!!

Gotta fly, hugs and love to you all:-)

Good Evening, my run was good and I completed the race in 35 minutes. I thought that was pretty good since I only ran a couple times in the weeks before. I was a little overwhelmed by the number of people running and struggled a bit getting around those people who started running, but then had to go to walking. I did make it though and it was great crossing the finish line. I kept that in my mind the whole race. I want to work towards a 10k now.

Hi all!

I found something else fun to add to my workout routine - static aerials! I went to a trapeze/sling class on Sunday and fell in love. Of course, I've been super sore since Sunday night, but I can't wait to go back!

Took a rest day from running yesterday, but tomorrow morning I have ~3 miles on the calendar.

Have a super day!

Hey you beautiful Rookie's!!

Whistler was AMAZING!! I did the half, my sis did the 10k, and Monkey did the 5k (his first official race - he even got a medal). I remember now how much I love the camaraderie between runners, and how cool it is to cheer on the volunteers...as long as my body stays happy, I am definitely going to get back to it now.

Sista, you are strong, beautiful and perfectly you!! xoxox

Hi Carrie, so glad you are doing so well:-)

Oh Doris, another cold??? ENOUGH!! Hugs my friend:-)

Hey KECHARA14, let us know how your run went:-)

Hi INVICTUS_VII! How are things going?

Gotta fly, hugs,
Trish

Hello, I am going to try running in the morning since it is cooler. I tried running at lunch time at work, but I become too overheated and end up walking to cool down. I am glad though that Spring/Summer are here.

HI!!!! (can an admin pin this thread so it can jump above the May one? )
I read about Marissa's doctor visit- that gave me goosebumps. I know how she loves her contact sports. Poor girl. emoticon
Trish- did all 3 of you run Whistler? The backdrop and scenery I saw was amazing!!
I'm running , ya'll. And I lift 2x per week. Got some nice muscles but stll this BELLY!!! Am I stuck with that for the rest of my days? Something that I might never get used to. emoticon But, I am healthy and strong and have a healthy and gorgeous family so I'm blessed!
I'm going to try (again) to keep up to date in this group.

The cold I had is gone:). Now, I have another one. The first was all in my throat. This one is in my sinuses. I just feel yucky. So, no running for me in almost 2 weeks! If I could stop coughing, I would go run. But, alas, the cough lingers........
Hope everyone is doing well and getting in some exercise. My exercise lately seems to be sleep:)

Love summer running! Gets me out of the house/office and gives me some color (aka) freckles as well. :-)

Hey Rookies!

Hope everyone has been kicking June off with a bang. It's taken me a little bit to ease into the higher temps and humidity, but I am quickly remembering why I love running in the summer! Early mornings, quiet streets... not too bad!
