Would someone run for me? I feel the need to get out and do something but I am sidelined right now:( A virtual run would be good:)

Great times at Run Club last night! Lots of positive waves to fuel the mind! I can't say enough about good run group support!

Today will be a semi quiet day with a bit more cycling as a pre-race tuneup! Early tomorrow morning, we're off to Viera, FL (just south of Cocoa, north of Melbourne) for the Inaugural Excalibur 10 Miler! I love it when we do a brand new race! Should be a lot of fun with a medieval theme hosted by Medieval Times!

Today, I did some core and upper body training. Kinda limited as to what I can do. If I can sit or lay down, its fine. If I have to stand, not so much yet. Probably a few weeks to a month I will get the OK to walk.

This morning my alarm read "bundle up and run" so that's what I'm doing. Today is the "warm" day out of today and tomorrow - it's about 19F right now, and tomorrow it's going to be about 7F at the same hour. Sigh... three more sleeps until I'm in Florida.

Hi all,
Still cold, but it's a run day, so I need to suck it up and get out there. We had two nice days in a row and I got spoiled!

I volunteer later this morning with the kitties - always a good start to the day.

Hey all,

We had some weird snow stuff over the past couple of days...tonight Joshy is having some bad stomache stuff - he may have food poisoning from the chicken we bought today. I'm hoping it isn't the case, but pretty sure it is...

Saw a lot of amazing things from our group today - HUGS and love to you all:):)Trish

Becca, your trip sounds like it will be fun.
Nera, I had to laugh at your snowblower story. DH was using my folks snow blower last year when it quit working. rather than call my brother, he shoveled. Now that he has had shoulder surgery and I am totally responsible for snow removal, my brother fixed the snow blower (busted belt thingy) and its no troubles.
Tomorrow we are off to a boat show, not buying another boat, for some odds and ends that we need. Wed. having surgery on my foot to remove the arthritic bone spur and clean out a toe joint, then, crutches. Blech. But I am going to my parent's house in FL next week to recover where it is warm:)

NERAUS- I had to push a friend out of our street after she got stuck earlier this winter. A little pit of shoveling and a lot of pushing (plus a little help from a neighbor lady) we were able to get the car unstuck. Quite impressive since there were no guys around!
Monty- Hope all goes well with the new running group.

I got in a great ST session on Saturday and 2.5 miles on the TM yesterday. I was hoping to get in a yoga workout tonight but forgot that I need to go to the city council meeting tonight. The first time I have ever gone to one. We live outside city limits currently and the city made an agreement with the Township in 1990 to annex the land in 2015. It's become a heated topic! We just moved to our house last April and only found out about the annex by chance.

Anyway- I am more excited to be leaving on Thursday for Colorado. Cole (DS #2) and I will be there for his gymnastics meet at the Olympic Training Center. Weather is nicer there than here!

It's a strength training day today, focusing on upper body.

This evening, we kick off a new run group! My friend Louise owns Lulu's Beach House Cafe in Old Town Pam Harbor, 1.8 miles away from my house. She asked me to help her put this together as she knew my history. I measured out the 5K course on Pinellas Trail from Old Town to Crystal Beach and back! I'm going to add an additional 2 miles for long runs. We're also going to tie this in with a local charity, an annual 5K, two committed sponsors, and a new club tech shirt!
We're encouraged with the positive response. Let's see what our first night numbers will be. Starting small and building up will be good! The important thing is we're bringing new people to the starting line!

Does trying to push a car out of a snow bank count as exercise? My hubby who has many good qualities but can't back a car out of or pull in to a garage straight got stuck in the snowbank that lines our drive way. He got it wedge in there quite well. We would dig and then push then dig some more. Some times he pushed and I drove sometimes he would try driving while I pushed. My arms hurt!!!!

How ever karma bit him in the butt because the snow blower he got from his dad when he moved out of his house stopped working. Hubby has been shoveling all winter. I told him talk to your dad maybe it did it to him. Nope wouldn't do it. Today his dad was over for something else and the subject of snowblowers came up. My hubby told how it wasn't working. His dad is like yeah it did that to me this is what you do. They went out to the garage and bingo working snowblower. What makes this story funny is my hubby's attempts to buy a new snowblower friday were unsuccessful because everyone was sold out. If he had actually purchased a new one for well over $500 I would not find this whole situation as amusing as I do now. LOL!!!

Hey team. I was able to get outside for a run/walk today. It was tough as the roads were slush covered. every time a car went by, I got a soaking below the knees. Blech! But, 42 degrees meant just a long sleeve shirt, no jacket, no hat, no gloves. Unfortunately it will not last. More winter weather coming tonight. Oh well, spring will eventually arrive.
Happy running rooks:)

Hi all!

The sidewalks are pretty icy this morning, so I'll get a run in this afternoon when it warms up a bit. On Monday, it will be ten weeks until the Broad Street Run 10-miler. I found a plan, and I'm excited to be training for something again!

Today is Day Two of no coffee. I'm having a cup of green tea instead... no headaches yesterday, so I think it's going well!

Have a super day!

Yesterday was almost 40 degrees here! emoticon emoticon m
2 miles was on my training plan so I decided to take little Q out in the jogging stroller. The first mile was easy because the shoulder of the road was clear of snow and ice. The 2nd mile was full of snow and ice so it was a challenge to run and push the stroller through that muck! It was worth it though!
Today, I plan to do yoga and maybe some ST.

I have a variety of running shoes. My winter outdoor shoes are Adidas (they are specifically designed for winter). My normal running shoes are Saucony Kinvara's, which I love. I also have a pair of New Balance Minimus which are quiet styling but not as good for running as I was hoping! They are little too minimal for me. I am hoping my current Saucony's get me through my HM in May and then I can transition to a new pair. emoticon

Another foot of snow dumped on us today. It was snowing relatively hard for most of the day. I will be glad when DH can shovel too. But, it will be next winter at the soonest. Its a great work out for me though:)

Hi, Team!! I've had a cold for the weekend and still holding on. I did no exercise Sat and Sun. and Ttapp yesterday. I felt the taxed heart from this virus in that simple exercise. Today, I decided to start killing this cold with heat. So, I did 7 intervals on the basement bike (~30-45 sec hard with 30-60 sec recovery). I used a youtube video to 'cycle' with others on a busy street. Once again, my cardio and overall body felt the impact of this darned cold. :( But, hopefully, I am closer to being done with it. I have no time for illness!
PS- Last week I had 18.14 miles of JUST running plus another 5 of walking!!! Woot!!! I am so happy about that. This week will be only a few... depending on the weather and my body. Today is a snow day for my highschoolers: why their superintendant does not use 2 hr delays is beyond me. the roads are now wet and clear. The sun is spectacular and I wanna run! I may just go for an easy walk for some Vit. D.

Hi all,
Weather is not so great for a run this morning, but temps should get above freezing this afternoon so I can get in a run.

Got my e-mail yesterday morning that I am IN for the Broad Street Run! I'm so excited - it's a huge event, and it is nice to have this on my schedule.

Have a super day!

No run today. Pottery and grocery shopping did me in! I wish it would warm up. But, more snow instead. Oh the joy........

The sun was out and it is in the 20's! I opened all the curtains and did a 47 minute threshold run!

Hi all!

I was actually able to get out and run yesterday afternoon. I found the sweet spot of time, when the sun was out and it melted a lot of the ice on the sidewalks. Hooray! Got a little less than 3 miles in, that was about all the ice-dodging I could do.

Have a great day!

It was beautiful near me today, but I still ran inside. I am new to the area & have not looked for trails to run on. The area I am in is all concrete, which I HATE to run on. Sidewalks, streets. I have seen the trails nearby. Just need to map out where I need to drive to & then where I should run to. Then figure out where is safe & where isn't. It's hard being new to the area. The closest running group meets almost an hour away from where I live. So it's live & learn now that it is finally starting to warm up.

Completed 2-Chicago Marathons, 4-Rock N Roll Half Marathons, 1-Monster Dash Half Marathon, 2-Soldier Field 10 Milers, 2-Shamrock Shuffles & multiple 5K & 10K races.

We are expecting 2-4 inches of snow overnight so morning commute will be ugly. Did get in some time on the exercise bike tonight. Last week was a bit weak on the exercise but trying to hang in there and get this going again.

HI~ Trish, what Mizuno do you use? It's been a few years since I've bought new. Wave Inspire 8 were the last ones, I think.

Did not get the snow that was predicted:) Instead of a foot or more, we got about 2 inches. Sheesh. I am happy about it!

Hi all!

Getting ready to head out to church. If the sidewalks aren't clear by this afternoon, I'll have to suck it up and hit the treadmill.

In good news, my wedding dress (yes, we eloped, but I got a cute dress at Anthropologie for the day) not only still fits almost three years later, but it's big on me! I threw on a cute belt and I'm set.

Have a super day!

Thanks Doris...

I have two pairs at home to do maiden voyages on the dreadmill...hate breaking in shoes inside, but they both don't feel right, so it is a necessary evil.

Joshy played an AMAZING game today, it was a shut-out, and he stood on his head (LOL, just occurred to me that not everyone understands that sentiment:):) He was AMAZING!!! Stopped a schwack of shots, and emerged a much better goalie. He told me after the game, that he has finally found a way to settle himself during a game....he thinks about and "hears" music in his head. Well, it obviously worked as the other teams parents and coaches gave him huge kudos...

Tomorrow I am at the rink at 6 AM, and leave it around noon...after that I hope to hit Penticton to see my MOm.

Hugs and love,
Trish

Came to the boat yesterday, shoveled. Got up and refueled the heater tank with 30 gallons of diesel, upper body work out. Walked around town this afternoon for an hour or so, had a late lunch/early dinner, then came back to the boat. Now, we sit and listen to the snow falling off the plastic wrap. Tomorrow morning, shovel at the boat, drive to the house and , yep, shovel some more. I am not too excited to see in the forecast that we are getting more snow on Tuesday and maybe Thursday as well. Its too slushy to run on the sidewalks and not enough room to run on the shoulders of the road. The snow has no where to go! welcome to winter in NH:)
Hope all are well and running fast.
Trish, I had the same problem with my saucony shoes. I found a local store that had 2 pairs of the style I like (the old style) in stock in my size so I bought them both. By the time I needed a new pair, the company had gone back to the old style. Phew. I hope you get it figured out.

Busy day at work yesterday with little or no water left me so dehydrated I slept super bad. I have been awake for less than an hour and hubby has made me cry all ready. If I am in one room and he is in another I don't know how I am suppose to know he is listening to his tablet and that my talking is an interupption. Yeah emotions too tender for that stuff today I will stay downstairs all day.

Good morning all!

Sheesh - another cancelled day of teaching. I'm looking forward to next week's break from this weather!
We got a lot of rain yesterday afternoon, so I'm hoping for a workout at some point today. It will be nice to get out of the house.

Snow. Again. This time, the snow is light and fluffy then becoming ice, then back to snow. Yuck. Its cold too. So, I did a core workout, rode the stationary bike and shoveled snow. More shoveling is in my future. Sigh.

Stay warm and run fast Rooks

Hey everyone!
It's a good thing the Olympics aren't on all of the time, I wouldn't get anything done!! Did a couple good workout days in a row - it went from -18 C to +16 in one day, you bet it was a run day:):)

Tonight Monkey is playing for Missy's team - Miss was going to play goal, but we are short players, so is needed out.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.
Hugs,
Trish

It finally warmed up enough to snow! I was back on the roads this morning and it felt great. The sun was even peeking over the horizon as I made my way back home and it looked like Spring returning at last.

Drove DH to the dentist today, then I set out for a walk. It was quite chilly. I had on many layers so most of me was warm. I need mittens instead of gloves. Oh well. I am feeling a little better so I did not need as many tissues this time:)
