I just ran my first ever 5K, the Snowy Egret 5K in Scarborough Maine. I have only been running since February so I am very proud of running this in 34-ish minutes and really pushed myself the whole race. Definitely my fastest pace ever! emoticon

the good: I PR'd and I got to see a lot of my friends do their first HMs and FMs
the bad: my legs are cramping up randomly. So painful.

Sounds like you had a good day. Relays are so much fun!!

Judi, congrats on your HM.

Judi and Penny - I hope you both had great races. The Buffalo Marathon relay experience was great, despite the chilly weather!

We are on the same time zone right now, so with your 30 minute head start, you can cruise to the end and not worry about looking over your shoulder for me. I'm shooting for a 2:36 time.

Judi, I forget, is this the time of year where you're on the same time as us or are you an hour ahead? I start running at 7:00 MST. Which means I get a head start either way emoticon I'd just like to know how fast I have to run so you can't catch me LOL

Kathy, mine starts at 7:30, or 9:30 EST. I'll be starting too fast as you are chomping on your post-race snack! Okay, now I know if I'm hungry during the race, THAT'S what I'm going to think of. LOL

Penny and Judi - Best of luck on your HMs. I'll be doing the first leg of the Buffalo Marathon relay on Sunday and I'll think of you starting after I finish because of the different time zones. Of couse I'll be rooting for you both!

First race of the year for me! I have a half marathon on Sunday, part of the Saskatchewan Marathon. I've been training hard, without missing very many runs, so I'm excited to see how it goes.

Welcome to this week's race thread.

It's the thread where you can tell us all about your races coming up this week, and also to link your blogs for the past week's races.

So if you are doing any kind of race or special event this week (and it doesn't have to be running - biking, walking, testing for a new karate level - they all count), please let us know on this thread.

And if you completed something last weekend, and wrote a blog about it, please post your blog links here. It's a great way to celebrate your accomplishment.
