Another great place to find running buddies is through your local running store, if you have one. The one in my town has a Walk2Run program, and then the Next Step Running Club for those who want to keep moving. We also have a local are running club (Fox River Trail Runners), and I've met some great friends through that.

Some of the running sites have community forums and you could try posting there-- coolrunning.com; active.com; runnersworld.com to name a few. Also, check out SparkAmerica under the Community tab on SparkPeople. If you don't find your city listed there, there may be one close by.
Good luck & be careful!

I live in Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles (near the airport) and I'm looking for a running buddy to keep me motivated, and maybe to do a 5k with! I am a very beginning runner, so they would need to be in the same place (or tolerant), but I'm very friendly.
Odds are low that anyone on here lives close to me -- but do you know of anyplace online where I could go to find a running buddy? Have you used Craigslist, or a running-specific site?
