Hi VICKI1215,

You might want to contact Gamin and see what their take is. The reason, Garmin HRM uses an algorthim based on the activity selected--cycling or running, but I am not sure that you will get an accurate reading for any other activity.

I have a 405 with a HR monitor which I use whenever I run, but I wondered how/if I could use the Garmin and HR monitor when I do boot camp or other exercise to more accurately see how many calories are burned. Has anyone done this? I'd rather not have to buy another gadget but I'd like to see how hard I'm working when I'm doing other exercises.
Thanks for any information!
