Nera, I'm so sorry for what you're going through and I also encourage you to talk with the bank about curing the delinquency over time or perhaps they'll move that payment to the end of the term. (I see your hubby's contacting them, that's good). What a sweet and thoughtful sister you have!! I hope you can find a resolution soon & don't have to work so hard! Prayer up!!

Thanks for the cyber hugs and support. It means alot. The hubby is going to call and talk to the refinace people (it is all the same bank just different departments) and see if we can rework that out. I coul find no place to sell my jars so that option is on hold. I will be working OT of probably 5-10 hours a week. See how long that works since the job can be stressful. I did hang with my sister today and even though hubby didn't want me to I unloaded the whole story on her. Wasn't even done telling it when she asked if she could write me a check. So great but I turned her down for the time being. I have no way of paying her back and no way of explaining where I got the cash from. Hubby would be very hurt if I got the money from my sister. I decided for the moment not to take it but at least I know it is an option. I am so glad I have one great sibling.

I went for a two mile walk this morning that was good. Rodeo is on tonight which always makes me happy. On monday I am walking in to the CEO's office and ask if my work will donate some money to the quilt I am making for a coworker who was in a bike accident. I have spend about $25 on second hand Harley shirts and I wouldn't mind a bit if they reimbursed me for it. I actually went in to a Harley dealership thinking I could buy some t-shirts on sale. Oh my had heart palpatations when I saw the price of the stuff. Even things on clearance weren't cheap. I get so nervous walking in to those places because I am so worried I am going to somehow knock over a bike. LOL!!! What a phobia to have!!!!

Nera, call the mortgage company and tell them what happened. They probably will try to work something out with you. It happens to more people than you might think. It is in the bank's best interest to keep a house occupied by someone who cares about it.
OK, one speed work out a week. Today, the run is cancelled due to nasty cold rain! I just cannot face the DM so I will do something else instead......
Happy Sunday/Monday all.

Good morning all!

Nera - I'm keeping you in my thoughts.

Anne(almost)12 - groceries are ridiculous. But this summer's crazy weather is making produce prices go up - apples in season are *still* almost $3/lb here! Sheesh.

Yesterday we had a showing of our house. While I'm not sure it's going to work out (she has two mortgages and she's looking to rent?), it was still nice to have someone actually want to see it! It gives me hope that we'll get this place rented out!

Enjoy the last day of September!

Nera, part of my job involves collections, and I can tell you that if you are honest with your lender and make some attempts to get caught up, that is the best situation. What starts to get bothersome is when the lying starts (like the money will be there on Tuesday, but then it never is). As an institution, we would rather work with you to get caught up, we really have no interest in taking over the home and all that goes with that, it really is a last resort. But perhaps as you say, the FI's are more aggressive in your area. You aren't alone even if it feels like you are. Life happens, in so many different ways. Keep your head up.

Mamaducks, that's sad about your pup. My heart goes out to you.

Anne - you will for sure be there in spirit. Hugs!

Maddy, hope your weather improves soon.

Doris, I love the thought of a hot tub following your run. Great job on getting faster. One speed workout per week, okay?

It was a great day today. I was loving the weather and being outdoors in shorts at this time of year.

Hi Team,
Things are good here in Port Angeles. Cool and clear - just perfect for running.
My pup and I went on our usual route and trotted along the waterfront. It was just lovely. My poor "pup" is 13, but very small. She is is getting really slow tho, so I don't know how much longer I can take her with me. She has energy tho, just cannot sustain the pace. It isn't like I go fast..... it varies between 11 minutes/mile and 15 m/m, but she just does can't keep up. It makes me sad. I don't know what to do emoticon Out little jog is the one thing she loves and looks forward to each day. sigh.
Nera, what you are going through is painful. I know, from miserable experience, that mortgage companies will work with you to get caught up. They can be really quite good in fact.
Cari, I'm doing the sub thing too. It is nice for me, tho, because I can just work the days I want. lol I'm also working another full time job tho, and going to school..... emoticon Life is fun! lol
HOpe you all have a good one. Good luck to all who are running this weekend.
Kim

Blessings,
Kimiko

Ok warning this is a downer post.

We got a call from our mortgage company this afternoon. Well it turns out we are a month behind on our mortgage. I just about lost it. Hubby said I told you about this. I replied like hell you did. We were going to refinance so they told him not to pay August. Well the refinance fell through and now they want that month we skipped. We don't have it period end of story. I am just sick. Who knows if they will start foreclosure on us. Some banks are pretty aggressive. Hubby is like I can fix this. My response is the only fix is to come up with 2K in cash and pretty quick. Options are limited due to hubby working a job for last year that really wasn't bringing in enough. Him not telling me the real state of our finances. Me living with my head in the sand. Did we piss the money away on lavish living, trips, clothes? Nope not unless you call my monthly thrift store trip with my sister lavish. We have cable tv and smart phones, two things we coul live with out but locked in to 2 year contracts on both. Plus my son can't find a job at school. He is suppose to get work study but he can't find an on campus job and the college won't help him. I am the only one working and the stress and resentment are getting pretty high. Hubby doesn't want me talking to friends or family about this but I might see if I can borrow the money from my one sister. Sucks to be almost 50 and have to go beg money from my big sister. We were suppose to go to a friend's son's wedding two hours away and stay at a hotel. I told the hubby we can go but we are driving home at midnight because we can't afford $90 for a room. I also have a cookie jar collection I have put together over the last 20 years. I haven't added to in quite awhile due to lack of display space. I am going to contact an auction house to see if I sold them as a group if I could get the money. Just so sad right now. Trying not to cry because hubby gets upset when I cry. He is upset because he feels this is all his fault and to be honest I agree. But I know my lack of not wanting to know and accepting his flip answers when I did ask about our money contributed. So again I apologize for being so depressing. I just had to tell someone and he never reads my spark posts so I figured I was safe talking here. Keep up the good job of running and I hope everyone had great runs this weekend.

So, I decided, based on reading other people's posts, etc. that if I want to run faster, I just have to run faster. This morning I set off on my "usual" 3 mile, hilly run and I ran faster. I had to walk in a few places but mostly, I just went faster. I was, indeed, almost 3 minutes faster!!! even with the walking parts. There was much rejoicing and a hot tub afterward:) Tomorrow, I shall try it again but stay mostly where it is flatter.

Happy running and racing Rooks.

Judi-super jealous of your real Canadian sandwich!!! don't forget me in there... :)
Beth-glad you're a little better today. Enjoy that hair cut/color and all that you have planned. Hope you get the wine in,too.
Nera-EVERYTHING is pricey now. Hubby is doing some grocery ad perusing and just in awe at how much food is! Kind of sad/funny-14 yr old son noted last week that when he shops with me it's all about, "Oh-nope,can't get this. Too many preservatives and high fructose corn syrup. Too much fat and salt. YES! Veggies, we can get lots of those!!" with Dad , the receipt was, " 2 liters of soda, potatoe chips and Frosted flakes." (just b/c they were on sale.) :( Oh, well-good thing I do most of the shopping!! He came home last night with the avocados and apples I asked for plus beer, bologna and Campbell's chunky soup and Bush's baked beans(b/c they were on sale. ACK!!! I seriously think he does it sometimes just.because.he.knows.I.do.not.buy.those.t
hings. We'll just make those nasty foods a rarity, eaten over several weeks.....
so, today was busy already: 4 mile run first thing which was spectacular. Really could have and wanted to do 2 more but was pinched for time. Took my runner boy to his hockey practice-he just started this season and is really improving. :) Then grabbed some food for Lauryn's 17th bday dinner tomorrow!!! Where does the time go? I was preg. with her when I stopped working(for a paycheck) and that's more than 17 yrs ago!!!! She ordered nachos for dinner and either cake or pumpkin pie for dessert. YUM!
Have a great weekend...

Good luck to all our rookies out there racing this weekend:

Saturday, September 29th:

MIRAGE727 - 5K - the 5th Annual Dunedin Brewery OktoBEERest

SUSANNAH - 4.88M - the second relay let of the Akron Roadrunner Marathon

GRRARRGH - 5K - Race for the Cure

Sunday, September 30th:

KIMMIEP - 5K - Race for the Cure

Holy cow, my last post isn't even on this page. I got unsubscribed, and it's been so busy at home that I didn't even notice it. Last week's race went really well. In fact, I improved my 10K time by over ten minutes. Now the -2C start temperature at this race and the +30 start temperature at the last one likely has the most to do with that much improvement, but I'll take it!

I'll try and catch up a bit better this week. I'm gonna be part of a real Trish and Penny friend sandwich in less that seven days now!

Good morning all!

Hi Beth!

I am finally coming to terms with the no-job thing. I feel like I went through a denial stage, like "they're going to find out they made a mistake and they're going to hire me back." I knew it wouldn't happen, but a little part of me thought it.

So with my denial moving behind me, I can finally get back to some sort of "normal" life. I signed up for a tri training class at my gym - it includes weekly swimming lessons - so I have that. I've been going in to sub 3-4 days a week. Seeing my old kids is bittersweet - but I do love the hugs and "I miss you!"s.

Anyway, this sounds more like a blog than a post... have a super day! Enjoy your last weekend of September!

Miss's letter made me think that there is hope for mankind! She is everything that one could want for our future. Great job, kiddo!!
Let me see, I read about torn piriformis with crazy meds and no running allowed, Maddie was, well, getting ready to do something wild I am sure. Rich trots around town at lunch time, Deej is crazy busy but still finds time for us once in a while. Sprouts is not going to to have a baker's dozen, just a "regular" dozen:)

I did have my vitamin D checked last year and they put me on RX vitimin D. But I never got around to going for my follow up blood work so not sure how it made my levels. I have been taking vitamin D all ready so I don't think I am as low as I was last year.

Trish what a great letter. She really makes her points clear and concise.

I'm here!

Gosh, I have so much going on right now. Although I don't think I've dropped anything I'm juggling, so I'm not OVERwhelmed...I guess I'm just whelmed? emoticon

As most of you know, I found out on Monday that I have a 70% tear in my piriformis, which I have apparently been running around on for over a month. Well anyway, they've got me on steroids and some pain pills that make me feel like I've had about 4 drinks. The first day it was fun. Now it's getting exhausting to try and keep my stick on the ice here at work (to use a hockey reference). I feel like I can't focus - I either want to go out dancing or take a nap. (Possibly both) I guess the good news is that the orthopod told me I can still ride my bike so I've been back to commuting. I just can't run for a couple of weeks. Swimming is ok, too. No squats or lunges (like I do those anyway). I can't believe I have to do 5 more days of this. At least the weekend is coming up, so I can be scattered at home instead! Gah!

Sorry, not enough focus to read back. Although I did see something about a sandwich with Trish. I can't decide if that makes me want to have a hug or lunch with her. Possibly both.
emoticon emoticon

Later gators!

I really enjoyed my 1 mile walk/jog this mornnig. Not sure if I'll EVER get to the point where I can run the whole thing. But I'm enjoying them, nonetheless. I'm not looking forward to winter when it'll be a little more difficult to get them in. I need to find an indoor site where I can run. Hmmmm...

You guys are the best!!!! I want to share with you the letter my daughter sent to her teacher so that she can take part in We Day in Vancouver...I'm pretty sure "Me to We" happens in the States as well, it is geared to empower kids to enact change....bear in mind Miss is only 11...

We Day 2012

Dear Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Casorso,

I would LOVE to come to We Day with you. The main reason that I should go is that I care for others. Throughout this letter I will give you many more reasons.

The things that upset me the most are world hunger, children in hospitals, and most of all, child labor. It hurts me that some families live off $1 per day. They deserve to eat the same as we do. When I hear about all of the sick kids, my stomach starts to hurt and I get chills up my spine. Recently I gave $255 to the Children’s hospital in Vancouver from my Birthday when I asked for donations instead of presents. I wish that there didn’t have to be hospitals. Children shouldn’t have to sit in beds all day long; they should be outdoors living the way God wanted us to. The worst one is CHILD LABOR. It is sad that families are so poor that they have to sell their kids as child laborers. Kids have to weave carpets and if they stop they get yelled at or slapped. They also may have to pick coco beans for chocolate like Smarties and Dove. The only chocolate bar that we know doesn’t involve child labor is Dairy Milk and we know this because it has the fair trade sign. These are some things that make me upset and want to help.

I wonder why all this bad stuff has to happen, like world hunger, kids in hospitals, animal abuse, child labor, child abuse, war and dictators? Why can’t we all live in peace? Why are there the poor and the rich? Why in some country’s do boys get to go to school, while girls stay home and do chores. If I go to We Day I hope for someone to help me understand these issues.

These are some things that I would do after I go to We Day or even if I don’t go. I would start fundraising right away for charitable organizations such as Easter Seals, The Children’s Hospital, and others!! I would do this by having a battery drive, bottle drive, teacher and kid’s soccer game, car wash and stuff like that. I would ask for money or dead batteries or food donations or even clothes for the less fortunate. I would also do some fundraisers that the We Day people told us about. Most of all, I want lots of people to know the saying, “Think locally act globally.” Like in the song Pray performed by Justin Beiber, “Can someone tell me how to make a change?”

Thanks, Marissa Carefoot

I did end up doing 35 minutes on my exercise bike. Did help make me feel better but still seem tired a lot. I was this way last fall too. I wonder if it is a change of season thing.

Nera-hope you found motivation and good luck on hubby and a job....
HI,CArrie!!!
Started the day with a delicious bowl of oatmeal with cinnamon, dark choco, walnuts and raspberries. WOW!! YUM!! and totally healthy for me and Piglet!(ONE Piglet,Richard!!!)
Miles wasn't well this a.m. but he's perked up now, thankfully. He just needed to eat. I think his blood sugar tanked thru the night-he had a hard time waking up and then was clammy and sweaty, temp was 96. He ate a few bites of cracker, vomited, fell asleep and woke to nearly his old self!!!

Hey all

Ann lol - it was not 2 runs in the day 2nd run in the vibrams total lol

Beth - I am finding pace similar but less effort. I feel that it will speed up in time though.

No run on the plan today but I am thinking of heading out for a 5k anyway later.

Not sure what I am going to do for exercise tonight. Very unmotivated. Well two coworkers have left this week. One I will miss one not so much. LOL!!! Lots of changes coming. Just wish my hubby could get a job there but all the openings are in my dept and they wouldn't want us working together.

Oh,Rich! TWELVE!!! 12!!!! two runs in one day?? You da machine,Man!!! (to be honest,I have to remind myself that this is #12 and not #13...hope that's not a mother-knows-instinct)
Beth-yes,she checked and initialed that tube! Run,girl,Run!!!! Wish I was there,I'd drag you out kickin' and screamin'. :)
and do you run in Vibrams regularly?
So, a nice 4 mile run this a.m. Calf/achilles felt better but still niggly. I used the orthotics. The issue today was my lungs-they felt heavy and full. I think the cold is causing the asthma to act up. I ended up with just over a 10 min/mile pace so I wasn't plodding as much as I thought I was. Trying to eat better again today-tracked all food so far(thru lunch) and even got in 3 servings of veggies and 1 of fruit so far!!!! oh,and water...I'm 1/4 way into my quart...

Dog pile or not~I'm in,too!!! She can't be sad if she can't breathe. :) (that is supposed to sound funny, not homicidal)
So, interesting evening we watched last night: around 8pm 2 police cars with lights and sirens flew past the house but I couldn't hear them fading...they had stopped at the house across the road and kitty corner(a cop's house). i got to see one officer race into the house! Sadly, it was their 16 yo son-my kids said he was expelled last year ,didn't come back this year and is a known druggie. They had him in handcuffs and drove him away~~ I feel awful for his parents.
Doris-that is a nice run!!! and I'd like a hot tube, too but I'd always have to fight off the kids so it's not going to happen.
Nera-You made me laugh with your hike story. My 14 yr old thinks he's big and strong,too-and that he can beat me running! LOL!!! maybe for a 1/4 mile then I'd take him over and fry him!
Beth-I think I'd rather the weekdays. Thought of you today(isn't that nice?) I had my blood drawn for prenatal workup so they had to double check all info on the blood bank tube. I DO miss my laboratory somedays!
So, not sure if I mentioned it but Saturday's run had me feeling my calf and achilles. Still tender yesterday and somewhat today(I did NO exercise today). I am hoping that it's b/c I left my orthotics home. I was using my brand new runners so I wanted to try and 'wean' myself from all the support. Maybe not a good idea. :( I've decided that with all the loosening of joints in pregnancy, I'm going to skip that shoe weaning til after Piglet arrives and I am back to my new normal. tomorrow I'm aiming for 4ish and get to run virtually with Judi!!!! yay!!!
Have a good night,ya'll!
