LOL Doris! A running machine? I was out this morning and did intervals with sixty second run between ninety second walks, a full 8 times. Not exactly machinery-worthy, but it's a start!

Here goes my attempt at catching up!
Maddie is celebrating or not, winter’s arrival.
Carrie stays up late watching Criminal Minds ( great show). And is now on summer break from school.
Anneofmanymanymanykids and her DH(who is cranky) celebrated 19 years of wedded bliss. Our little Daniel is getting into everything, like he should be at his age. Why is Anne scared of the parking lot?
Andi has trouble getting her “little man” to cooperate with early morning runs. Kis these days.
Poor Coops had another seizure. Poor fuzz ball.
Newsweetbreezes has learned to love running!:)
Rich continues to be a running machine. Maybe he is a mushroom….getting up leaves for work in the dark, returns in the dark and in between, well, you know what mushrooms like.
Nera needs industrial strength support but looks marvelous in her new dress.
Deej and her DH celebrate 33 years of bliss☺ Woo Hoo!! To bad she can’t navigate around her own neighborhood. Tee hee hee
Judi is another running machine.
Penny is sick with a bad cold. But, she has muscles and collar bones to go along with the drippy nose and stuffy head. But she has a cute little nurse who is trying to make her feel better.
John has been hiding again but made an appearance to let us know he is still here and needs help with mid week runs. So, a pointy boot is aimed as his tushies.
Trish continues to make me tired with all that she does.

If I missed anything else, let me know! I have been running and gardening and beating the pants of my Mom at Scrabble and just busy.

Life is fragile. Love, laugh and enjoy.

I'm sick! emoticon Last night's run stunk and now I probably won't do anything more than flip channels on the tv for the next two or three days until I feel better. My nurse is pretty sweet to look at tho'. Too bad she thinks shrieking is an acceptable form of communication. Oy!

Going to try to get a nap in now that we've had breakfast. I'm not too hopeful. Nurse Roo seems wide awake. *giggle* she just zerberted my arm and grinned at me.

Happy last days of school everyone.
Maddy & Rich, happy first day of winter. Maybe it won't be so bad?

good morning!
Carrie-my younger kids have just 5 days left! I only have 4 more days of driving thru that dreaded parking lot!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! (that is the only thing I dislike about that school)
Beth-glad that you're enjoying the running again!
Trish-You visited the Nut Farm,Carrie works at the Nut Farm and I OWN the Nut Farm...I often say that I am a zookeeper and I am not exaggerating. ;) (but I wouldn't trade it for the world!)
Judi and Nera-I thought kaelin and Jeremy were busy babies but they had NOTHING on this current 'baby'. He crashed last night just a few minutes after I got him into pjs...didn't even move from the place on his bed. And now-he's back at it! Nera-my college DD isn't working either. She's picking up the mowing at Gramma's house every other week and is even willing to grease trucks with her brothers...so she might start this weekend.
I did Insanity last night- my thighs and hiney are feeling it today so I don't know how the 10 miler will pan out...but I am going to head out. It's cloudy and cool~'perfect' for running.
Have a Therapeutic Thursday!

Trish - you had dinner at the Nut Farm, and I work at the Nut Farm (well, most days, anyway).

Can't believe that it's the end of May - time to review my month! Enjoy your last day of May!

Oh my, missed a couple of days here!! Sorry about that:) Don, kidlets and I had dinner at the Gellatley Nut Farm tonight before tae Kwon Do. Joshy has a science project due tomorrow about seeds. He was amazed how many different seeds you can find at a park. Very cool:) It was funny, he picked me a flower to show me the pistil and stamens (sp??)....

Did a schwack of exercise today. Tired, and ready for bed for sure:) Hope you all are doing amazingly well:);)

I thought my son was active when he was little. Sprouts your's make mine seem like he was sleeping all the time. LOL!!!!

Did day 2 wk 2 of the C25k. So far has been inside because our weather decided to turn back to fall. Very cool and rainy.

No job for the son. He went and applied at the industrial temp place. They got him something right away last year. This year said nothing right now. Yikes that was kind of our last hope. This is not looking good. I wonder if my credit cards have a limit high enough to pay for a year of school? LOL!!!

John, you may get annoyed by my response but ... just do it! Don't think about it, don't excuse how you feel, just pull on those shoes and do it! I get up at 4.30am to fit my exercise in some mornings (I prefer mornings) and know how hard it can be to push yourself. This morning it was freezing (Oz we are upside down) but now I feel great!

Sorry ~ no magic answer ~ merely determination and resolve to have time to run. But then it doesn't always work ...

Good evening all!

Computer was on the fritz this morning so I'm not checking in until now...

Beth - the run was wonderful. I got in 4.5 HILLY miles! We have three more half-days left with the kids, and then one teacher day where we get to pack up our rooms for the summer.

My first class for the summer started today. I have lots of reading to do - I love to learn, though, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Off to catch up on some sparking!

Hi I miss all my run friends on here life has been busy, work, and dealing with looking after my aging parents.

I dont know what to do. It's Wed and Im too tired after work to change into my running gear and head out to run club, I'm missing out on my mid week run. It's so frustrating. I start may day all pumped up that I will run after work, and I feel too exhausted at end of day. I'm only doing my Sunday morning long runs. I need help. emoticon

Any suggestions

Thanks
John

Ugh. Which is "I didn't get any sleep last night because I was coughing every freakin' minute"-ese for Good morning!
I've got a nasty cold that is making me cranky BUT I discovered two things when I was looking in the mirror this morning: I have collar bones and ab muscles again! That made me happy dance. Now all I have to do is get the insulation covering my triceps to reduce and I'll be a very happy girlie.

Nera! I love, LOVE, *LOVE* the new profile pic.
Anne, can you talk to Paul? He offers me one more bowl of ice cream and I'm going to smack the stupid out of him. *sigh*

Time for more meds, I think. Or maybe a nap. Feeling kinda spacy.

Anne - we knew little Miles wouldn't ever sit still :) Sorry to hear of your "bliss" the day before, been there with ya hon! But happy anniversary to you both, and glad he got over himself in time to treat you.

Nera - wonderful dress - love it!

Deej - you've been so busy for so long. I truly hope you get a breather soon. Your Ragnar should give you a good infusion of happy. You girls will have to give each other some squishies from me when you all get together.

Carrie - enjoy your summer break! I just know you are going to be productive with it.

Rich and Maddy - wow, winter! We don't get summer here for another 3-4 weeks. I think mayber Maddy's rushing the season just a tad - looking forward to it perhaps....

Beth - so sorry about Cooper. Enjoy your run later.

Andi - hope you get your run in later. I sure remember those growth spurt days (and nights).

Can't remember much of anything else. Got in an 8 mile bike ride yesterday morning, a 2.5 mile walk last night, and a 12 mile ride this morning. The sun is shining, and the wind has finally gotten tolerable (or did I just get used to it). The weather sure hasn't been co-operating for outdoor activities this spring, so I feel like i need to make up for lost time here.

Have a great day everyone!

Nera-LOVE the profile pic-that dress is very pretty!
Beth-poor Cooper...wish that would all stop. Hope the track w/o went well.
HI,Deej!!! see ya in about 10 days(wait@! only 8 days!!!)
It's much cooler here today: high of 65 and bright sunshine!!! Hoping for a run. If not today, then tomorrow will be a 10 miler(hold me to it)
Hubby ended up eating his hat last night and was sorry for it. He came home with wine, beer ,chocolate and gift cards to restaurants.(Yes, i seriously think he's trying to sabotage my weight loss efforts..not kidding!) We *kissed* and made up and now we're happily married~~
My elbow is still SUPER sore,I've been in contact with the chiro and wondering if I should just put it in a sling and not use it. It burns like crazy at the point of the tendon's attachment(or thereabouts) and I'm only using it for daily life! No pushups or weight lifting...but lifting my 25# boy child is weight lifting, isn't it? I can't escape that. Let me share yesterday's escapades with ya'll: dumps his cereal and milk into the gold fish bowl(YES-WITH the goldfish in it),dumps out kitty dish not once ,but twice and then refills it,he wrote on the bathroom door the day before and gets out his own bandaid("owbay" is his word) a few times a day and puts it pefectly on the week old owie on his foot, and then pushed out 2 screens in my bedroom and Anna found him outside retrieving them(no,I don't think he went out thru the windows).

Hi Kids! Drive by :(

Anne, HAPPY ANNI !! Sorry the beer made ya sick & hubby's under the weather.. hope you can enjoy a blissful celebration of your bliss in spite of that!! 33 for us this Sat ;) we're babysitting & traveling to see Joey's new place for next year... sooooo romantic :) lol ..we'll get around to celebrating some time! Way to get in those runs.. 90 deg run? That's determination!

Carrie, LOVE criminal minds... and I'm not a TV watcher in general.

Maddie, WINTER??? Reallly?????? Whoa... been near 100 here. Supposed to cool down for the weekend. I'm so ready!

Rich, excited for your Marathon.. is this your first??

I'm still planning on a Marathon on 11/3rd... just found out over the weekend hub's nephew's getting married that eve. Hub says we'll be home in time... wed's at 6 pm & hopefully I won't still be running at that hour LOL

Hours beyond hours of work for the office, sometimes till wee hours of the morn. Getting in a few miles through the week & some nice long runs on the weekends for Ragner prep... got turned around & lost one night attempting an evening run & testing my headlamp.. who besides me could get lost in her own neighborhood. LOL Had to tell on myself.. too funny although it sure wasn't at the time! In my defense, I'm new to these parts LOL

Hope everyone's well. I really haven't fallen off the face of the earth although some days I'm hanging on by my fingertips!

Will get back when I can...

Nera, lovin' the new pic :) very nice!!

I found the little black shrug I needed and the black lacy camisole. It was kind of funny when the 12 year old clerk in JC Penney said maybe I should try going strapless for a bra. Ha ha this from a child who was a not even an A cup, not over 20 and had not had a child. I just looked at her and said my days of going strapless were pretty much over. I have no time to find the structural apparatus that is needed to hold up my gals. LOL!!! Do they have things reenforced with steel plating? LOL!!!!

If I can figure it out I will try to change my profile picture to one of me in the dress. Now I need to do some exercise since it would be nice to be a smidge smaller by the time this wedding rolls around in 3 weeks.

Okay I did it but had to use the side shot. The picture from the front I wasn't smiling and looked pretty crabby. LOL!!!

Good morning! Had good intentions of getting up early this am to get in my run, but my little mister decided to get me up at 4. And 5. And then at 6 I realized he's almost three months and hitting the peak of his latest growth spurt! I'm going to go for my run this evening when I am a little more awake instead. This is what I get for trying to plan early morning workouts with an infant - it's been so long since we've had a baby that I forgot that of course on the days you decide to get up early the baby will be up all night!

Have a great day, everyone!

GOod morning,everyone!
Busy and HOT day yesterday-got in fiery 90* run for about 5 miles, showered, took kids to parade then to inlaws' got a whopper of a headache after drinking a Bud Light Platinum(good taste, bad for the head. Regular Bud gives me headache, too). Hubby doesn't feel good(sinus infection) so he was ornery and took it out on the older girls yesterday. GEE WHIZ! Today's our anniversary~19 yrs of wedded 'bliss'. HAHA!
It's much cooler right now and i'm hoping to get in a walk. Should water the garden, too, that hubby planted yesterday. Sorry, nothing else nice to say so I'll come back later.

Good morning all!

Maddy - I found it hilarious to read your post about winter right after I thought how hot and humid it was this morning.

Last full day of school! Hurrah! The best part about working my tail off in the garden yesterday was that I slept like a log last night. Even though it was crazy hot, I was able to sleep with the fans.

Have a super day!

Good evening all!
I have spent the better part of this evening enjoying a Criminal Minds marathon. I have seen all the episodes, but I love it anyway. SOOO tired. I am going to sleep like a log tonight.
Tomorrow morning is a little before school run... temperature looks not-horrible around 6am...

Had a great time with our friends. Just took a nice boat ride along the lake. Got home and had some major storms with hail. Really dislike storms.

Went shopping with my Mom and sister. I found a dress for a wedding I have to go to in Florida in June. Still no shorts or summery tops yet. Got home and sat down on the couch to talk to my hubby and fell asleep. I was just out.

Did week 2 day 1 of the c25k and it went okay. It was nice enough to be outside but my late nap left me feeling out of sorts so I just did it on the treadmill.

Hi all! Did a 5 mile speed session this morning. Cleaned the house up and Bobby grilled. Had some strawberries, kiwi's and blackberries for dessert. Yum! Don't wanna go back to work tomorrow. Boo!
Kirsten-Yay on the gardening job. I would love that. Love digging and weeding. Very therapeutic. Also yay on the no issues with the run. I am about ready to call in the doc. Just haven't figured out which specialist. *sigh* so tired of the weirdness of auto immune.
Beth-so happy you are back at running.
Nera-cool on the boating.
Carrie-you can pick snakes up by the tail. I vaguely remember doing that as kids. We had tons of garter type snakes where we lived. Not sure I would do it now though.
Trish-Cool on Joshy! Gotta love when your kids do things that show how well you have taught them.
Rich-thanks for the link. Is it hot to wear that?
OK...gotta get back to cleaning.
Have a great one runners.

Anne

Good morning all!

Happy Memorial Day. Got in my swim this morning and have lots to do this evening. I decided to let the gardening wait until the evening when it's not so hot.
It feels like it might be a chips and guacamole kind of day...

PHEW! sorry,I've missed at least 2 days and I'm lost. I do see that Kirsten is planting and watering,Penny and Frank ran their 1/2s today,Carrie has a family of snakes in her garage and Beth is running!!! WOOHOO!!
It's been busy here-I got in 5 miles yesterday,TF early this morning, church, visit friend at nursing home, grabbed some veggies for tomorrow and then made some veggie/black bean salsa(YUM!) and went to open housewhere I ate well but came home and pigged out! What is up with that? TOMORROW I will get back to basics and plan on eating that fresh salsa while everyone else eats hot dogs and chips. (BLECH!)
Right now it's time for D to settle down and put the other ones to bed, too. Chiro gave me some mineral for Baby D to take before bed. They seem to work okay-bedtime isn't so miserable.
See ya later !!

Judi, next year I think I'll put Roo in the kids run. Too bad she won't be old enough at Okanagan or you could run the race with her. I can't remember if it's a kilometer or a mile but it's nice and short.
I'll be back later to chat. I'm just SO tired right now it isn't even funny. Pics have been posted to facebook if y'all are so inclined.

Carrie, if you are sure the snakes aren't poisonous, call in the local boy tweens. I'm sure that's a job they'd love to tackle as a posse!

Just flying through. Got in a bit of a run this morning (eight 60 second intervals). Baby steps!

Carrie, moth ball flakes. Sprinkle them around the foundation of the garage, leaving a space free of the flakes for the snakes to leave. They don't like the smell/taste and will not go near them. We have snakes around our house, in the stone wall and each spring I spread the flakes and the snakes leave the wall and live farther away.
Trish: how do you keep track of all those activiies?!?!?! Wonder how Sprouts does it with many more?!

Good morning all!

It's 8:30 and I already got in my run. Sometimes it's wonderful just to get out the door instead of thinking about it too much.

Kirsten - I think there is a snake nest in our garage. There is a little hole in the corner where they are all slithering off to. Luckily, our house isn't attached to our garage. Phew! My neighbor insists that I can just pick them up and move them, but I am freaked out by that idea.

Yesterday I spent all afternoon getting together job materials and updating my online profile. Exciting stuff...

Have a super day!

Goooooood morning Rookies! I'm off to the field gardens this morning - I figured out how to use the pump properly (duh - PRIME it!) so I'll be doing some pumping and carrying water today. Then four hours of diggin and weedin so Tuesday we can be planitin. It's VERY late for us, but the weather has been so dry we don't dare plant until it rains. We can only get about two garbage pails of water a day from our old pump - not enough to hand water a third of an acre of new transplants and seeds!

I got a run in yesterday - OUTSIDE! (woo hoo!) with minimal issues (eh, Anne? I hear you sister!) and I may just try that again on Wednesday (off for the day). Fingers crossed...

Trish, those kids of yours are amazing! and Yay on the partay!
Penny, best of luck today. I hope you FLY like the wind.
Any word on how Frank's run went yesterday?
Rich, sounds like good reasons to call it. You'll get the chance again soon I'm sure. How do you feel today? Cool hydration system!
Doris, what IS it with you and poultry? lol! Six flower beds? Yeah, I hear that one. sigh. I'm that kind of crazy indeed!
Beth, that's FANTASTIC that you're back! :o) That reset really gave you some energy?
Carrie, more snakes? Is someone doing construction/digging nearby? Wonder why your garage...
Anne of wet doggie land - lol - sounds just like my kids. Thanks for the reminder though, I have to go pick up a kiddy pool for them today.

Okay, must run before it gets too hot. Pray for rain for me folks! ttfn

OMG...what a crazy day!!!

Josh's green belt test went sooooo well!! His poomsae (pattern) was crazy, both Don and I were amazed at how well he did. Mr. Reed (his tester) told him that he did a fantastic job, and I hope that Josh realized how much that means. It was odd for him when he did breaking (board breaking). Usually Master Smith has someone else holding for the foot break, and blocks hold up for the hand break, but Mr. Reed held for both. So when the kids had to bow in for breaking, they had no idea who to bow into. All the kids kind of bowed to which ever place they were facing. Josh came up, and he set up his foot strike, then looked at me and bowed, then looked at Don (opposite side of the Dojang) and bowed, then carried on. He knew exactly who he wanted to respect. So proud:);) See tears:):):)

Don and I went to a party tonight...like the first time in 4 years. It was really fun, mexican food, good friends, a really fun time:)

Tomorrow Josh has another baseball game, and Miss and I have some fund raising to do....

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend:)

Hugs and love,
Trish

Went our for a run this morning. When I left the house it was already 70 F and very humid. Brought lots of water (my bottles in the fuel belt leak) and went slowly. I took a few 1-2 minute walk breaks. It was good. I wish I had my camera as there was a male turkey doing a mating dance around a female turk. He had his feathers all fluffed up and looked funny. She did not seem interested! Smart girl.
Got home, stood under the hose to cool off and then did about an hour weed pulling. I would like to know whose idea it was to have 6 flower beds?!?!?! It could NOT have been me!
Happy running and racing:)

Good afternoon all!

Penny - carb-loading on donuts sounds heavenly.

I went out to the garage this afternoon, opened the door, and saw three little snakes all curled up. They are non-poisonous, but I am still freaked out a little bit. I have to take some recycling out, and I'm afraid there will be a snake in the bag when I put it in my car! Yikes!

Need to get cracking on my to-do list... lots and lots!

Have a super day!

Hi guys! Did a 7 mile longish run today. Had hoped for 10 but am still (3 weeks and counting) dealing with a flare of inflammation (intestines...don't wanna get to detailed here) so had to call it at 7. No problem...I am always happy when I can just get it done when my issues are rearing their ugly head! It was darn hot and humid also. Should have gone out earlier but I take my sleep when I can get it :)

Penny-you will rock that HM! Mmmm...carb loading with donuts!
Rich-cool that they exchanged the shoes! Hope this is the answer! Do tell about the Nathan vest... I wore my fuel belt today (I HATE the fuel belt) cause I knew I had to hydrate cause of my health issues and I wish I had some other alternative!
Trish-Yuck on the heat related issues. Hugs girl!
Nera-don't worry about son not even huffing and puffing. He is young. I try to ignore my kids when they act like they are in better shape. As Kirsten said...I can run longer...slower but longer :)

Good luck to the racers this weekend!
Bobby and John (Jopapgh) are out doing their bike ride (80 miles I believe) and Derek is out golfing so it is just the pups and I. Think I will get out Bears pool for him. He looks bored. Only problem is he gets in and out so much that all it seems I do is dry off the darned hairy thing! Oh well...off to wet doggie land!

Sooo ready to run HM#3 for 2012 tomorrow.
Today, we're going to Calaway Park to ride the rides and carb load on mini donuts. Maybe not the donuts... we'll see. I got a pretty good challenge set to stay in calorie range this weekend and, so far, I'm on track. I don't want to blow it. Then again, I only have to do 3 out of 4 of the days emoticon
Run safe my fellow racers. I'm looking forward to hearing the reports. Myself, I'm hoping for a 2:22. Weird number, yes, but I had a 2:26 and a 2:24 so it's the next logical(?) step.

Have a great long weekend emoticon

Good morning all!

Today starts my long weekend. I am so totally excited. This morning the hubs and I are going to get him a haircut, heading to the farmers market, and then doing some cooking. It's already really humid - sheesh!
Have a super day!

G'day all

Well my foot issue saga continues. Back to the running store today to reconsider the shoe issue. Turns out they had me in half a size too small lol. So they just swapped them out for me. Not bad considering I had done already over 100km in them. Great store.

So off for a 32k run again tomorrow - what away to spend a Sunday morning hey.

Get to run with my awesome little Nathan Running Vest again it is soooooo darn good.

Hey team:)

Ended up with some heat related issues today...aka, I couldn't keep a thing down cause I was in the flipping sun for so long yesterday. Anyhow, no exercise was done today. Joshy did win his first game against one of the best teams in the league tonight though.

Miss was funny when she came home...she showed me her ribbons from the track meet yesterday, then kind of passed me a few pages and walked away. Yeah, she got her term math test back...she got 100%, then also got an extra 4 bonus points, so she has 104% on the term. Hmmmm, me thinks she and I studied well together:);) SHE IS A ROCKSTAR!!!

Tomorrow is kind of silly, Josh has to be at the ball diamond by 7:00, back home by around 10:30...he tests @ 11:30, Miss has to be at the soccer field for 11:15, plays @ noon, done by 1:00...Josh is booked until 1:30, but also has a ball game that starts @ 1, so needs to get his butt there ASAP after he finishes. I am super freaked out about sparring and breaking, it has not been a month since he broke his finger. Hoping it all works out:)

Hugs and love!

Well Maddy, if that's what you need to keep you sane, I sure won't stand in your way ;o) tee hee!

Nera, getting old sucks a little bit, that's all. I can still run longer than my kids, but definitely not as fast. It's begun. I have to say though, I find it weird that I can run without being out of breath but I still huff and puff up stairs (and my young whipper snapper co-workers and volunteers seem unfazed. grrr...) Oh, and remember, one of my gardens is a ROOFTOP garden - like, three floors up... yeah. And the other one is up a hill. *faints thinking about it*

I took today off - only went in for my volunteer shift at the Red Cross. No gardening today. Tomorrow I've got kid stuff for the day and an evening shift with my sweet leetle respite chicka. Sunday's a full day in the fields again.

Ooops, the littles' Pokemon movie is over. Time for teeth-brushes and snuggles. Nighty night.

It was nice enough that I did my C25K outside. My son came with me. We walked for 45 minutes then I did a run interval. How bad is it that I was running almost full out and could not catch my son who was running BACKWARDS!!!!!! I told him I was old and patient and he had to sleep some time then I would get him. LOL!!!! Due to doing that run interval so fast I was wiped out and only did two more slower ones. Really stinks is we get inside and he isn't even breathing hard and I am doing my best imitation of a steam engine. LOL!!!!

Hey all,
Another quick spot:);)

Hey Kirsten, you are the best dang looking soap box stander there ever was!! And I think I got that talk from Nanc a couple of months after I gave her that talk way back 6 years ago:) Oh yes, and then there is the one that Judi and I shared even before that!

Spent the day at the track with Miss for her track meet. She placed 2nd in discus, 3rd in sprints, 2nd in shot put. They don't do any run events except for the 100 metres and relays. Her relay team placed first in her school. I am soooooo burned, I was in the sun from 9:15 to almost 2:00 without sunscreen....dang it, I had it in my car and forgot to put it on. Was so cool today as the school we were doing the meet with was one that Miss's friends that do sports are from, so I knew almost as many kids from there as I did from Helen Gorman (Josh's ringette team are mostly grade 4's, and the meet was Grade 4-6). The teachers from our school got a kick out of the kids from Shannon Lake wanting me to take their pics and e-mail to their parents.

Tired and hot...time for bed...oh yes, but I did manage to take one for the team tonight with a 15 miler ride:);) Right Jenny? emoticon

Hugs!

My family finished week 1 day 3 today. I am noticing that I am doing way better in running strength and I am able to lift m legs higher, My recovery very time has increased, and my pace seems is have increased naturally since I did C25K the first time.

I am so happy I decided to to the program again but this time I am doing the 10 K program but it starts with the same training for C25K program.

Just checking in - woke up with a lovely cold today that's totally kicking my butt. I decided to take a rest day, even though I planned on running. I need to reserve some energy for that baby boy of mine!

I did manage to get out and fill my fridge with lots of yummy, fresh produce. Now for the energy to prepare it!

Good morning all!

Woke up at 5:40 this morning without the alarm. Not really sure how that happened...

Hubby's parents are coming up today. I have no idea what time they're getting here, but we're going out to dinner later.

Not much else to say... have a super day!

Kirsten, I appreciate peoples soapboxes, sometimes I even need a sledge hammer to get the message, but trust me, if I'm not exercising at least 3 hours a day, there is something wrong in my world. I've been given all clear after biking accident and did start gentle over the past two weeks, but I am missing the variety of the gym ... all those wonderful cardio classes and equipment!

1.5 hour bike ride (damn that invisible gale foce wind), 0.50 elli, and 1.5 treadmill = 3.5 hours so far. As my day starts at 3.45 am for work on Friday, and for some reason none of my chores have been done (where is that housework fairy), I may run out of time to complete my challenge before bed beckons me.

Be safe.

Frank, I KNOW! I need to get back to school for a rest. I am SO glad I dropped my summer courses - eeesh!

Maddy. Hun. I think you need an intervention! A wise coach Nancy once advised me not to embark on an exercise program that I am not prepared to stick with for life because, as soon as I quit doing it, the weight will come back. *steps down from soapbox*

So, today, I worked at the gardens in the morning, then went to a pot luck lunch farewell for my boss at the Red Cross, then walked for an hour delivering flyers for the school bottle drive this weekend, then back to the field garden weeding for two hours, and finally attended a horticultural society meeting (the guest speaker turned out to be my boss - lol!). Oh Em Gee! I took three showers today! lol! Tomorrow is exactly as bad - Youth committee meeting, work at the gardens, training for new respite job - twelve hours of fun! Woo hoo!! I might need to take a day off soon - I'm getting pretty sore.

Can I just tell you - I am SO CRAZY EXCITED about community gardening!

And with that I bid you adieu! *cheers running friends* run a mile for me will ya'?

Ack, I'm so far behind I'm not even going to try and read back. Just diving in.

Been buried in Ragnar prep and work stuff (not good work stuff, either). The great bike to work adventure is still rolling along - I'm up to 250 miles so far this year! Last year it took me until July to reach the 250 mile mark. So biking is going well. Running not so much. Went for a slow 5-mile head-clearing run last night. I wasn't looking for a certain pace but I was surprised how plodding I was when I looked down at my garmin. I didn't FEEL like I was going that slowly! Sigh. Also, my hip started to bother me again during the last mile and a half. It just hasn't been quite right since I crashed my bike several weeks ago. I'm going to try doing some stretching every day and see if that helps. I'm beginning to think I pulled something that just isn't healing as fast as I think it should be.

Tonight is a swim night and probably some abs. I need to get cracking on this core strength business. Anne, you inspire me with all your pushups! Maybe I'll try some of those as well.

Happy Wednesday!
