Have you been had? You are a beginner runner and they had you sign up for the Rugged Maniac? It sounds like a tough one, but since they "graciously" allowed you on the team, how could you say no right? ha ha So much for a flat, calm course for your first run. It does sound like a lot of fun though! I'm sure they know you will be able to handle it. Have a great time, I'm sure you will do great. Good luck.
You guys are really great...I just started running, but I want to stay motivated so I am registering for a race to keep me motivated. I did just register for the Rugged Maniac which we have a group of women from the office that graciously allowed me on the team...looks tough but fun...can't wait
I agree, active.com is the best site for races, also ask your local running shoe store, we have something called Race Forum, it is a publication, it may be nationwide, something to look into. Good luck!

Check out your local running store. They usually have a very good idea what's coming up in your area - and it's likely to be ACCURATE information. lol! Best of luck - let us know what you decide to run so we can cheer you on!

Active.com is a great site, so is getmeregistered.com as well as checking out your local running specialty store website and your local running clubs. You can go to rrca.org to locate a club in your area.
