Okay I can not find the Facebook page you guys are all talking about. I found the Sparks.com page but I guess that isn't it. If someone could send me a link I would appreciate it.

I went for a walk. I guess I do run faster than I walk. I was doing 2.10 miles walk/run in less than 40 minutes. Tonight thought I was walking a good pace but when I got home and mapped it out was only 1.90 miles in 45 minutes.

Wood-I'm sorry for the loss of your dad this year, too~I cannot imagine that.
Maddie-I giggled out loud at you waiting for wagon of hotties before you hop on~~
Hi,Angie!
I'm missing my Netflix rental of 30 day shred...it was great to have a short sweaty workout. Might have to order Insanity's 20 min. version. I ran yesterday so I don't want to overdue with another run today and don't feel like lifting weights to TT..plus my arm/elbow wouldn't like that anyway. hhmmm...what other excuses can I find? Maybe I'll be able to get a brisk walk with some jog intervals in..something to burn fat!
Today's busy..again~already dropped off son for driver's ed,get him at 11,then drop him off again for driving just before 1 so I can get 2 kids to dentist by 1....sometime I have to get my tandoori chicken marinating....
Have a great Tuesday-looks like our rain has passed and sun is shining!

I love seeing all the JASR comments and pictures. I was so sad that I couldn't join this year, but I'm SO glad that all of you are plastering it all over FB so I can live vicariously. emoticon Like Frank said - next year... (and a lot of you I get so see in June, so that's a yay!)

Maddie - I'm so sorry for your loss. Big emoticon

Ummm, not much else I can remember so I'll just talk about me - ha! Got my new bike last week and took it out for a spin on Sunday. Rode about 24 miles and I'm pretty sure the angels were singing the hallelujah chorus the whole way, LOL. The Great Bike to Work Experiment starts up again soon...tomorrow, I think. My hybrid is in the shop until Friday, and I'm a little nervous about taking my new baby on the messy downtown roads, but I think it *should* be ok for just three days until I get the hybrid back. I'll just have to be gentle with it.

I've been hit with a big case of the lazies the past couple of weeks. AllI want to do is come home at night and sit on the couch. Also, I can't seem to get enough sleep! Every morning is a challenge. I'm attributing it to allergies - as soon as the stupid trees finish blooming I should be back in business. I'm being hit early this year - I'm not used to it!

Ok, off to find a HEALTHY snack. I'm trying to get my eating under control - I have to go wedding dress shopping in a month and I need to lose some major poundage by then.

Happy Tuesday!
emoticon

Spot.... emoticon life didn't wait on me.. and unfortunately neither did work!! Fires all over the place to put out yesterday & DDs birthday to celebrate (that was the fun part). Today... more fires smouldering & a funeral home visitation (SILs Dad).

Back with some share time as soon as I can. The weekend was INCREDIBLE!!

Good morning all!

My goodness... it's hard to get back into the 5am wake-up call swing of things! Today is Day 1 of Super Workouts to get ready for the Tough Mudder. I have less than four weeks to go (eep!) so it's time to bust out the muscles!

Have a super day!

Carrie-glad you got to get some fresh food today. Hope you enjoyed it!

Nera- no good your toe is so sore. Hope it gets to feeling better soon.

Rich-hope your speedwork went well. I had to push mine tomorrow. My lack of sleep tonight caught up with me tonight.

Wood- so sorry to hear you lost your dad. That must be incredibly difficult.

Doris-Good work on the kickboxing. The arms may be sore, but think of how awesome your arms will be do.

Too tired tonight to run. I couldn't sleep last night and by the time I got done with my meeting tonight the exhuastion just kicked in. So we'll try again tomorrow night. Good night all!

Good evening, folks.

Sorry for disappearing. Just so much going on that I haven't been checking in. I hate to say FB is easier because you put it on and it updates in real time. Going to try to be around more especially with my big race over and turning the page on April.

Briefly, ran my 30K last week in 3:30:50. Missed the goal by 50 seconds. I've been spending a lot of time writing for school and this week is spring break. Visited Marist College (currently the son's first choice for college) and was very impressed. Nice two days away and actually controlled the appetite. Visited the FDR home. Good time!

Beth - good luck on the surgery!

JASR Crew - Super happy that you were able to get together and enjoy the weekend. I really missed being there but there is always next year. If anybody comes up with something for the fall please let me know. There are a bunch of races that look fantastic.

Maddy - sorry for your loss. It's always rough especially on kids.

Rich - Great job!

Tried out a pair of Brooks Glycerine and Defyance. Really liked the glycerine.

I'm here to sing my praises for JASR, but now I feel there is something more important that needs to be said.
Maddie - You and I are having a similar year I'm afraid. Mine has also been filled with funerals including that for my father. Yes, it is the circle of life, but I know personally that no matter how brave a face we put on there's still an void behind that tugs at us. But we move on and we live everyday like there's no tomorrow, because we know that although, Life is Good, it is also much too short. I'm truely sorry for your loss, my friend.

Now, I'll return later for my comments on JASR.

Life is good!

Good evening all!

Today was filled with FRUIT and carrots. I ate an entire container of blueberries for lunch and you would have thought I was eating caviar. They tasted so delicious.

Hubs is cooking some cod, and swiss chard with raisins. We're going to make some freezer dinners for me to enjoy this week while he's at work. I love my wonderful man!

I did a similiar thing to my foot a few years ago when I took my son sledding. Walking up the hill and always using the right foot as the driving force made it hurt for about 3 days. As long as I keep shoes on I am good. But I tried to walk downstairs tonight in my slippers which even with the thicker rubber bottom were not enough. That toe bent on the first step and yowza. I hopped down the rest of the way. LOL!!! I have to go find that Sparks face book page.

Hi Jenny, Rich, Judi, Beth, Trish, Carda, Doris, Nera, and I'm sure I am missing more, but you're still loved. :)

Judi-hope you have a safe trip back!
Anne- Way to go on the PR (not sure which Anne got the PR at JASR.
Carrie-Maybe being out of food is a good thing? Hope you got to enjoy fruit this a.m.
Anne11-Sounds like you had a fantastic time. Enjoy skating with the kids.
Kirsten-Glad you had a fantastic time as well. How is school going?

Not much to report here. Have speed training tonight 3x1600. Granted my version of speed and others is probably different, but its fast for me, which is what matters. Other than that trying to keep my head above water here at work, but finally starting to feel like I might be getting there, though have to take off for a couple of days for a wedding this month, so we'll see. Anyways, hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

Oh yeah, sleep is good! Though, I've had some kind of reaction to something I ate during the weekend and my adenoids/throat/nasal passages are swollen like mad so (as you probably noticed) snoring has been an issue...! I hope that goes away soon.

Maddy, I am sorry to hear about another funeral. Circle of life, I understand, but still, ((hugs))

Rich, I'm so glad you had a good race. It's always nice to hear of your fun times with your girls. You're such a good dad.

Kimmie, that sure is a lot of racing all in one month - er, or two. Good luck on your training, watch for burnout!

Angie, nice to see you again! 8 miles - you're sure getting closer!

Nera, I've heard of tennis elbow but bowler's toe??? Actually, I know what you mean. I have driver's foot - can't lift the big toe without wishing for death. I thought it was the 5k walk, but I'm pretty sure it was the driving. Oh, just saw your foot is better. Yay! Yes, there's a page - it's called Spark people sparking - Just a short run. Check it out!

Penny, those pics of Pitts are awesome! I can't wait to take the kids back to see the sights. Have a safe trip home today, thanks for sharing Roo with us. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with both of you.

BETH - I'm so sorry I missed you yesterday. I have your # on my phone now and I am totally going to stalk you next time I'm in Buffalo!!! I'm thinking of taking the kids to see the fishies in Niagara Falls soon. Maybe we can do something then. Guess you're preparing for your Sx today. Best of luck tomorrow. Check in ASAP so we know you're ok, ok?

Cardamomma, it's so nice to meet you! Would your Spark name have anything to do with cards? I love making cards!!! Or, a spice reference???

Doris, do you have some races coming up?

Anne, so glad you made it home okay. What a TREAT to meet you!!! I'll pester you about some MI races later in the season. I'll still be walking, but who cares?

Carrie, yeah, I don't normally do those 'cleanse' type things, but it's on my mind today. Water with lemon, anyone?
emoticon (x30)
ok, I have a TON of school work to catch up on so I'll see you back here tomorrow sometime. Oh who am I kidding, I'll probably be stalking all day...
Have a fantastic Monday (and/or Tuesday!)

Back to reality today... I really feel like this weekend was a retreat for me. It's just amazing seeing everyone come together like that.

On a lighter note, there is nothing in the house to eat, so I have no idea what I'm going to eat for breakfast. I don't know if I can stomach eating another baked good... I may have to stop for some fruit on the way to school.

Getting ready to head to the airport soon, just wanted to say hi. The weekend at JASR was fabulous (Anne got a PR). I wondered if Rich was going to show up!

Maddie, so sorry for you and your family. Yes, circle of life, but I know he will be missed.

April Fools!

Laundry is getting done, and I'm getting mentally prepared to start tracking again tomorrow. I don't even want to THINK about what I've eaten since Thursday night. I got home this evening and broke out the bag of carrots.

I went for my 2 mile run/walk and it went okay. Toe didn't hurt at all. Still not fast. I did 2.25 miles in a little more than 40 minutes.

How do I find the pictures on facebook? Is there a Sparks facebook page?

Hi everyone! What a warm group of people you all are. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Rich, you have a lot of races this month! I'm looking forward to doing more as the year goes on. My first 5K of 2012 is April 21.

Nera, I hope your toe is better quickly! I empathize. I just recovered from a foot injury and it's such a relief.

I'm sorry about your "out-law" Maddie. That's hard.

And hi Angie and Beth!

The sun's out for one more hour before the rain sets in, so I'm off for my little 3 mile run. Have a great day!

Nera, the pics are loading fast & furious on Facebook. I'm out of room in my gallery or I'd post some there. Heading out to do some touring around this afternoon. Hopefully, I'll get some more good photos. The weather looks good for us.

Maddy sorry to hear about all the funerals. Maybe a part of life but still no fun to go through.

I went bowling yesterday for the first time in years. I hurt my big toe on the right foot. I don't know if I did something wrong or the joint just didn't like to be used so much. But it hurts to bend my big toe so not sure how my run will go today. I am walking around the house with my running shoes on. I learned the last time I did something like this that keeping shoes on all the time really helps.

Everyone at JASR sounds like they are having a blast. Can't wait to hear all the stories and see pictures.

Maddie-I know what you mean about the circle of life, but it doesn't necessarily make it easy.

Rich-Way to go on the new PR!

Alright with a new month we'll try to keep up again. Running has been going ok. I'm slowing moving along to the half distance. I ran 8 miles yesterday. First 4.5 on my own then stopped and picked up Brian. 10 minutes later we went and ran the last 3.5. Well I slowly poked along and Brian walked. Oh well, I'm working on covering the distance.

Thinking of training for the Omaha Women's sprint tri. Its 5k with 13 mi bike and 750 yard swim. Its in about two and half months. We'll see. The last tri I did was a mini tri a couple of years ago. So we'll see if I can't get some training started for the swimming and biking and go from there. Other than that not too much going on. Working a lot and trying to get everything accomplished there. Hope all are well!

Rich, in my heart I ran and I was awesome!! But reality had me driving back from NSW, my father outlaw passed away during the week and I took girls up for funeral. Unfortunately that's my fourth funeral this year! Sad, but all elderly (and much loved). But that's all my sad stuff over for the year.

I'm off to watch the news to see you crossing the finish line in first place. Your efforts are inspiring!

The other Oz ...

I have 3 Easter Eggs to eat this month. First one down with a PR. I'll have a half in 2 weeks and then I'll trail it out 2 weeks later which is a tad bigger than the other half and will be leading to a big R's!!
