I ran the Shamrock Shuffle 8K in Chicago this past Sunday. It was perfect weather - mid- to upper 50s, sunny and a nice breeze to cool us off. Last year the Shamrock Shuffle was the first race I had ever done, and it got me hooked.
This year was even better than last year! I had so much fun running with 34,000+ runners through the streets of Chicago and I finished in 56:42 - almost 14 minutes faster than last year!!! Oh, and I ran the whole thing except for stopping to drink some Gatorade...I still haven't mastered moving and drinking from a cup at the same time :)

I am running my first "long" race--15K on Sunday! This is a little warm up for my first half marathon race in May! A tad nervous, but I know I will get thru it--not looking for "speed" here, working on the endurance piece--longest run so far on the treadmill is 8 miles--this will be the longest on the road! Yikes!!
