Good idea!
And yes, that's exactly how I hurt my foot; I ran faster and harder than usual--not as gradual an increase as I've done up to now. Gotta remember I'm not 17 anymore!
Still it's nice to know what we're capable of, even if we have to ease up to it. 7 miles...that's just amazing!
Take care--hope you recover quickly.

Thanks, CARDAMAMMA! Go easy on your foot!

I'm tweaking my goals. After that 7 miler, my body told me that I went too far too fast. I only ran 2/walked 2 Sunday and yesterday I cross trained. Today is my rest day. Soooo,

2x 3 miles and cross training the remainder of this week. Beef it up somewhat next week. Need to be more gradual.

Goals for this week (starting March 26):
Super slow runs to rest my foot, 3 - 4 miles, three times this week. Pre- and post- run stretches and ankle strengthening exercises to minimize stress on foot.

I pushed it yesterday to 7 miles. That's nuts! I'm like a little kid at Christmas. Can't believe it!

But I'm paying for it today. ha! So this week, my goal is to do a 4 - 6 mile run 3x, some fun cross training and ST 3 days. Have a sweeeet week everyone!

Getting a late start on here, but my goals for this week are to:

Complete Week 6 of my 10K training plan (DONE!)

Start Week 7 (tomorrow)

This will give me a total of just over 13 miles this week! emoticon

If my foot allows, run 3+ miles every other day. If not, walk 4 miles each day. (And if I can't do that, row or cycle.)

This week I have 3 short runs and a 10 mile race. Did short run today, 4.5 miles in record time! woohoo!
I also hope to add in one or two upper body workouts and some yoga!

Please use this thread to let everyone know your goals for the week, to keep yourself accountable. The goals can certainly be running related, but you can use the thread for other goals you are currently doing as well.

Simply write down what you have for a goal for the week (for example: complete week three of C25k), and then as the week progresses, come back and update with the results as you complete steps toward your goal.

Plus, our team is on our way to running to the moon! Please help us get there, by adding that team goal to your own goals list. You can find it from the main team page (near the bottom).
